I thought this was a pretty good place. The baby back ribs were on special and they were delicious. Collard greens were spicy and good. I must admit that on a Monday night at dinner, the place was filled with snowbirds. That should not stop you from trying some tasty food with a pleasant wait staff in a nice atmosphere.

Was recently in the area for business, there are a ton of chain restaurants, this place is privately owned. Enjoyed the food and service. Would return if I am ever near there again.

Located right on US 27 near the tower, this place is easy to find. Have been here three times and have not been disappointed. Not sure why some of the reviews are bad. Service was very friendly, food was served in a timely manner, and the ribs are really moist, meaty, tender and tasty. Sides good as well. Atmosphere is pleasant tho a little bland.

We really enjoyed this place. The food and service were both good. We both have traveled extensively throughout the South and enjoy good BBQ. Although we have had better, the food here was reasonable and pretty good. We would go back. We had ribs, pulled pork, and smoked turkey (this one I would skip as it was pre-sliced turkey...)

Have eaten here several times, and never a disappointment. Ribs are the best, and a great value. If you like Lima beans, they do them right.

This place consistently has the best Ribs. We has Sweet Potatoe Fries and I'm hooked. The service is good too. Oakwood has spoiled me I will not eat Ribs anywhere else!!!

I'm an economist, which means that I believe in competition. However, one of the assumptions that economist make about people in order to do what we do is that people are rational. No rational person would eat at this joint. Even Sonny's BBQ is better, and don't let Oakwood's so called "awards" fool you - whoever runs the 'Taste of Taraves' doesn't have taste buds. That's not to say the place is at all bad, but there's only one TV in the joint and most of the restaurant is not situated to see it, and the food is only mediocre. The service is acceptable for such an establishment; just run down locals that aren't too interested in their jobs, which is self explanatory. But Alison's, my girlfriend's, hamburger was dry and I had the half rack of ribs combo with chopped pork, and I can honestly say there was more meet in a Ball Park brand hot dog. And the you can get more tender ribs at Publix in the frozen section (Loyd's ribs FYI are amazing!). If you already find yourself in Clermont and want real BBQ go a half a mile north on 27 to Jack Benny's BBQ ( yelp.com/biz/jack-bennys… ) , it'll be on your right. And if you want chain restaurant torture of a lesser degree than at Oakwood, you should hit up Sonny's on East Highway 50.

Really just passable BBQ, decent sauces, average food. I wanted to try Benny's just up the road but was outnumbered and we wound up here.

I have to tell you about this restaurant. I live less than one minute from Oakwood and we ate their a few times when it first opened years ago and it wasn't that great. We tried Oakwood again a few months ago and I have taken my family at least five times in the last 60 days. The food is delicious and the price is right. They have a blue cheese burger that is to die for and you can get sweet potato fries. My wife and girls love the ribs and the chopped pork sandwiches. I think the other reviews are when they were under different management. This place is great and I can't wait to go back.

Lack luster. Not bad food but nothing to make you stand up and shout.

One star as actually I'm really quite miffed. Advertised in lobby: "FULL RACK RIBS @12.99!!" OKAY no matter how you slice it, what I was served is NOT a FULL rack. Just because you serve up the full LENGTH of a rack, DON'T make it a full rack; WHEN YOU CUT THE RIBS IN HALF!! What a dishonest JOKE!! The rib bones were only 2.5" long folks and were obviously cut in half - lengthways. OakWood Smokehouse- YOU NEED TO REASSESS YOUR INTEGRITY PRINCIPLES. Fuc the food review- welcome to my "Roll the Loaded Dice! " listing. Why didn't I ask to see a manger and work this BS out? Sometimes the drama just isn't worth screwing up a good dinner date with friends we have not seen in a long time. Why bring on all the potential bad Karma to our meeting over $13 of deceptive food advertising? SHAME SHAME - American culture needs to rekindle more sensitivity to this worthy virtue less we become all the more less and less civilized and honorable as a country.

I love this place! The ribs are always really good and I've never had any service issues here. Not much to add, I just really like this place!

For a chain BBQ place it's not bad. Better then Sonnys for sure. The flavor of the BBQ isn't to bad. Just not out of the park yummy. Not at all award winning by any means. But, decent never the less. I wouldn't call it a craving place like others in the area. The sides are decent. When they where available or "in season". Good variety when they are there. The selection of meats is decent nothing out of the ordinary that makes them stand out. It's not a typical BBQ joint it's more along the lines of a Chillies or Friday's the decor. Think maybe the food needs as much attention as the decor.

Good ribs unless the place is packed I've been here twice first time food was awesome ribs were tender fall off the bone and delicious second visit not so good ribs were tough and in the dry side. service was great I mentioned the ribs not being as good as the first visit and they brought out another full rack unfortunately that rack was dry too! haven't been back since but may try again one day, their side dishes are great! a good deal but just another chain restaurant which can be a hit or miss.

We are fairly new here in Florida, coming from a suburb of Chicago. We were told to try Oakwood Smokehouse as we were looking for some good restaurants in the area. We had their bbq rib special and were hooked! The ribs were perfectly cooked and covered in a sweet bbq sauce. The meat was so tender it just fell off the bone. They serve a great meal for a great price! It is definitely THE place to go for ribs. You won't be disappointed. We have been back multiple times and the ribs are always great and the service excellent!

Best restaurant anywhere (if you like baby back ribs). Great fall off the bone ribs. Best lima beans (yes, I said lima beans). Good appetizers. Good sweet tea and arnold palmer (tea and lemonade combined)

Order to go. Two different burgers and fried pickle appetizer. Burgers wee both cooked correctly. One rare, one medium rare. Added onion rings to one order. Crispy and hot. Blue cheese burger nice amount of blue along with black pepper. Packed with lettuce tomato and pickle wrapped separate so bun doesn't get soggy. Nice touch. Their fried pickle chips are a favorite. Crisp outside with good dill pickle chips inside. A southern favorite. Ordering fast and easy- dedicated cashier for 'To Go' orders. 10 minutes and we were on our way. Very tasty. We will return.

Went here for lunch with work staff during my training week. Ordered the sliced beef lunch plate with lima beans and fries. The ambience was not that crowded but quite noisy. Server was nice but was getting a little agitated with one of the staff for her "kids meal" situation. Got our food and I looked at the plate..The meat looked liek sliced deli meat (roast beef). I was turned off!! BUT I was hungry so I had to deal with eating it. Had to smother it with their signature bbq sauce bottles which helped the meat. The lima beans were good...tad bit spicy and my first time eating their delicious lima beans. Love their garlic toast! Fries tasted regular steak fries. I am not pleased with the food and for almost $8 - I will not go back for the "quality".

Have eaten here no less than four times and the food and service is consistently superior. BBQ is above average. The black eyed peas however were exceptionally awful. This place is far superior to Sonnys. Last visit the waitress ran out to our car to give me the doggie bag I forgot. That's awesome!

I usually get the salmon dinner, and the Onion rings are there best side, very good. The onion rings are there best side, you usually have to pay a dollar more for them but its worth it. It comes with there secret sauce which is very good. Try the onion rings if you go here.

I really don't understand the other reviews on here. This is my favorite BBQ place in Florida and just about anywhere (my brother's too). The babyback ribs are juicy and tender, fall right off the bone, and the prices are amazing. They are always having specials on the baby backs; full rack, two sides, bread. It's impossible to eat it all. No, I've never had anything else here and I don't need to. This is where I come for my baby backs. Sonnys is good, but not all Sonnys are equal. Oakwood is the best.

The lunch service was "Great", the food was even "BETTER ". I had the half rack of baby back ribs were wonderful and my wife had the pork plate with 2 sides. Finger licking GOOD.... We will return soon...... A +++++

4.5 stars on the pulled pork with sauce, absolutely great. Also can recommend the ribs and salads (but expect iceburg). Prices and portions are also an amazing value. Inside ambience isn't bad, but they are wonderful for takeout and even have a dedicated station and staff for it. Even if you don't call ahead, you can still be in and out in 10 minutes or less. My only complaint is the sides, I give 2 stars on all the sides except the sweet potato and it's hard to do fries wrong. If they upped their game to do sides like 4Rivers but at the Oakwood price and speed, I would be there once a week.
