This is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant in Clermont. When I'm lazy to cook and need a night of quick take out this is the place I would order from. Our usual is: Steamed dumpling- It is made with ground pork and five spice powder, the dumpling wrapper is a bit thick for my liking but the light sesame soy sauce that it comes with it is pretty tasty. beef lo mein- my kids favorite, nothing too fancy about it, pretty typical standard noodles Fried chicken wings Wonton noodle soup- this is made with pork, they give you a good portion of wontons. Usually when you order it they'll give you 2 or 3 wontons but every time I have ordered we have gotten 6-7 in each container. Mixed vegetables- a lot of corn starch is added to make the thick sauce but overall that is standard. Singapore noodles- this dish is my favorite when ordering from any Chinese restaurant. It is thin rice vermicelli noodles with a curry taste stir fried with a combination of chicken, beef and shrimp. I like the Singapore noodles here as they do not saturate and overmix the curry powder. It is light enough but still gives you the nice flavor.

This is not the worst Chinese food that I've had in Florida, but it is not close to the best. I don't like the fact that they say New York style, because it is not even close. The staff was very friendly and service was good. I wouldnt go back and I wouldn't recommend it either :-(

I love this place; I've written a review of Green Garden before, and they have the best General Tso's chicken. I arrived after closing tonight and they still took care of me. Great service and great food!!

Awesome lunch specials! 5.99 you get soup and a huge lunch plate with lots of choices. Their rice is the best! And every table gets fried wontons with this AMAZING orange sauce. The owner is so nice she comes to check on every time we are there! They have been here in Clermont for a long time and we love going there for lunch.

This is a pretty good Chinese restaurant, with attentive servers and great food. I'm a HUGE critic when it comes to China and their culture, and I'll say this is pretty darn good tasting for a Chinese restaurant in Florida. Now some of the other places and buffets have greasy food and horrible service, but when you go to Green Garden, you can tell it's fresh by the look and taste. And I had recently bought a Chinese cookbook, and I needed help because I am quickly learning Mandarin Chinese and am not an expert in the language, and the server said that her English wasn't that good, and she would get another server to help me. The server finished setting down her plates and immediately came over to assist me with my cookbook and told me what I needed to know. I was able to cook up some good recipes - and was proud knowing that! I would recommend to Green Garden to everybody I could. Thanks Green Garden for the best food, best service, and best employees! :)

Great food and great service!! We never leave hungry and always have leftovers. The sesame chicken and crab Rangoon are our regular choices but we've enjoyed other entrees as well.

We spend several weeks in the Clermont area every winter, and the one drawback for us has been the lack of a good Chinese restaurant. But that was before we discovered Green Garden. Tucked away on the side of a strip mall, it's a quiet little place where you are greeted as the friend the first time you walk through the door. The food was superb, I had the house fried rice, which was loaded with shrimp, pork, and chicken. My wife had the garlic shrimp hot and sour soup. Everything was served quickly and our waitress was very attentive. We'll definitely make this a regular stop!

New to clermont, read reviews and decide to try. Yes it's true it is back in corner of strip mall. But food was fresh and hot. Nothing tasted old or reheated. Like every Chinese restaurant this one does lots of take out/delivery. Phone didn't stop while we where there. Restaurant is clean and staff was very attentive.

We eat here once in a while, only because it's one of the only places in the area that has food that one can eat....once in a while. There is aboslutely NO consistancy to the food and we have eaten over and over. You can order the same dish one time and it's wonderous and the next you have to throw it in the trash. One never knows what to expect. Wish we could we would order twice a week and I wouldn't have to cook so much :(

We saw all the five-star reviews for this restaurant here on Yelp and elsewhere, so of course we wanted to check it out. First of all; it's lighter, brighter and cleaner inside than in many strip-mall Chinese restaurants; it was a comfortable dining experience, one where we weren't looking nervously down at the floor for unwanted dinner companions. We ordered, respectively, mu shu pork and Peking shrimp, with the "family dinner" addition of egg roll, crab rangoon and shrimp toast., and cups of hot-and-sour and wonton soup. It was very good; much, much better than the awful Chinese buffet restaurant down the street, and better than the takeout place near our temporary home base. I think my partner's mu shu was the better entree, but my shrimp were tasty as well -- very fresh and tender, in a generous portion. But -- I just can't give it a full five stars because we've had better Chinese food, not only in the "big city" but in our favorite Chinese places back in Michigan. Green Garden is also spendier than most other local Asian restaurants. Which isn't to say that you shouldn't give it a try.

Great food, staff is actually fun and engaging. Oh, and get this, you might be surprised, but you can actually customize your order. I know, a chinese restaurant that lets you customize your order, Key-Razy! Seriously, great place and is the only chinese restaurant where the whole family goes to.

We chose this chinese restaurant based upon the reviews and we were not disappointed!! We got a pu pu platter, the Panda Trio so so so so good!!! The best I have ever ever had - we are going to go back one more time before the end of our vacation and get the Panda Trio only because I gave my daughter the leftovers and I was so full I didn't get enough lol!!! - Make all our decisions based on Yelp - I am now considered the Yelp Queen!!!

We have eaten here years ago and the food was very good we got take out a few months ago and it wasn't very good so we gave one more try fried wontons were over fried the soup didn't have good flavor and the entrees where blah. The chips for soup were stale as well. Is someone new running the place? Looking for a good Chinese restaurant in lake county!

We have eaten often at the Green Garden and also frequently order take out. We are usually pleased with the quality and quantity of the food and tolerate the abrupt but adequate service because of the food. Our last order, October 23rd, was a huge disappointment. We ordered General Tso Chicken and Peking Duck, a half order, all to go. The chicken was tough and dried out. I asked when I placed the order if the duck included the pancakes, green onions and plum sauce. I was assured it did. There were no scallions with the order, only shredded lettuce. And there was maybe 1 tablespoon of plum sauce in a tiny container. The duck was good and adequate for the 4 pancakes provided but with no onions or plum sauce, not what we had looked forward to. We live quite a far distance, so returning to "right the order" was not an option. Very disappointing meal to say the least.

Pretty good. We went for the $5.99 lunch on a Sat. Great service. The food was good, but not great. Definitely worth the price. We had sweet and sour chicken and general Tso. If I could I would have given them a 3.5.

Good friendly attentive staff. The decor was average. The food was good, but nothing amazing. If your looking for a fast sit down American Chinese food place this isn't bad. Overall, since it had friendly staff and decent food it gets four stars.

I placed an order for a group of 8. Emily was so professional and labeled each item. It saved me so much time. The food was fantastic. I don't eat fast food Chinese too often so when I do, I am very picky. Everyone was more than happy with their orders and the portions were perfect. I am looking forward to going in there to sit down and eat and maybe try the real Chinese food too. I would recommend this place over all the little random ones along 50. Oh and it is very clean in there too. Nicely decorated.

With a family of five we are frequently in need of a fast no hassle meal. Green Garden has given us a consistent break from cooking. It is fresher than most Chinese food establishments. We have used them for both dine in and take out for several years now. The establishment is clean and the service is fast and friendly. The owners remember you and always seem glad to see you.

This place was way better than I expected. I would have probably never gone had it not been for the other reviews. I ordered General Tsos and it was cooked well and the meat wasn't low quality. I like a nice spicy thick sauce with my Tsos chicken, and they didn't disappoint. I plan on going back and getting the hot and sour soup to go with it. My wife ordered a vegetable platter and said it was excellent (this is rare for her as she normally doesn't dig asian food). So far, this is tied for the best general tso's chicken I've had in the Orlando area. It's far better than the cheapo take out places all over the place.

This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. It all had a funny taste. I will never go back. The super china buffet is much better.

Awesome service and fantastic food. The portions are large but it took a while for the meals to come out because they were cooked fresh. Meanwhile, the wonton noodles and soup were enjoyed thoroughly! There isn't much in the way of "ambiance"..... They could use some music playing or something..... And the decor is a little sparse.....but for great Chinese food, this place is awesome!

I never post reviews, good or bad, but I just had an awful experience here. I walked in to the restaurant (I was eating alone tonight) and the waitress saw me waiting but didn't acknowledge me or come see what I wanted (I was hoping to dine in). Then a family walks in behind me and all of a sudden she perks up and walks over and seats them. After seating them she makes a round to all of the tables. (At this point I decided I'm not eating here). But she finally makes it over to me and she barely asks what I want and I said well I was going to dine in but because of your rudeness I'm leaving. And that was that she didn't care. I don't appreciate being treated like crap just because you won't get as big of a tip from me because I am only one person. I will never return here and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This is the only place I'll eat chinese food in Central Florida. The food is full of flavor and the portion sizes are reasonable for the price. The lunch and early bird specials are great. The staff is always wonderful when I call. They remember you. I'm greeted by name when I call. Most of the time I don't even have to order because they know what I want. The dumplings are the best! Reminds me of the food I used to get back in Chinatown in D.C. Great service, great food, great prices. Thanks Green Garden for beings so awesome!!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
