Awesome Indian food. I didn't expect it to be so good. The owner is a Punjabi and trust me the food is very authentic. We ordered samosa chaat, murgh makhani, dal makhani, Indian beer.

I visited for the lunch buffet since my friend and I needed a quick lunch so she could get back to work. The lunch buffet options were what I would expect. The day I visited, the buffet offered pakora, a lovely dal, a veggie Korma, and butter chicken. The curries were good - complex, flavorful - but not the best I've ever had. The naan was excellent and nice and warm. Overall, not a bad option for lunch though I agree with others that noted the prices are a wee bit high for the quality and selection of food offered. Not a bad option, but not somewhere I'd make a special effort to come visit (and it would need to be an effort as I live in Citrus Park).

Came here for the lunch buffet, great food. First time eating Indian food, I wasn't familiar with the names but defiantly recommend this restaurant. Service was outstanding, reasonably priced

We had been looking for an Indian restaurant in the area for some time and were pleased with this find. The menu is pretty expansive and they can make all of their dishes "Indian" spicy. I really enjoyed their chicken vindaloo with the garlic chili naan. They offer a bread basket which I highly recommend, that allows you to try 3 different types of naan and is a great way to explore something new. Top it off with the obligatory Kingfisher beer and you won't be disappointed.

This is a phenomenal Indian restaurant which specializes in North Indian Punjabi cuisine. The service was exceptional. The waitstaff were kind, helpful and attentive. The food was authentic and included a variety of herbs, spices, grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. My favorite dishes were the vegetable biryani, onion naan, saag, mango pudding and chai. It was a very healthy and delightful experience.

Sucks... Regular water smells like fish. The guy serving was acting as if he was an owner and he was doing a big favor to us by serving the food. Food was very ordinary.. Only pro is that it's on Highway and if you are coming back from clear water beach it's easy to get in...

Food was excellent! I ordered onion naan, chicken tikki masala, & chicken curry. Costumer service was also great.. I ordered to go & they were very friendly.

The Best Indian Place In The Land !! Seriously, why go to India when you can come to Gulf to Bay...

I did a take-out order with the Saag Paneer. The portion was generous but still pricey for a vegetarian dish @ $13.50. I also ordered a tandoori roti which was big but again slightly pricey at $2.50. This place is in a strip center and doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside looks simple but clean and a warm atmosphere. The food was tasty warm and fresh. There were many pieces in the saag. The dish also came with a good size helping of rice, but the hunger in me are the roti also. The location is convenient close to the mall and near many hotels. This place is closed on Mondays. I would go back again and try more dishes and also for lunch.

First, let me say that I have lived in both India and Bangladesh. I love Indian food, and I had dinners in India that blew my mind. My husband and I have been to Deeya several times for dinner and have done take out a couple of times as well. Deeya is the best indian food that I have had in the Tampa area, and I can't recommend it strongly enough. Garlic naan, pakoras, and daal are my favorites to start. For the main course, I'm a huge fan of their shrimp bhuna. They also have great tandoori, and the gulab jamun for dessert is to die for. My husband loves the chicken makhni. Those are our favorites, but everything we've tried here has been great. I admit that I'm saying the food is the best - I'm not talking about ambiance or music or anything like that, although I do think they've gotten much better over the last few months - it's less likely that you'll walk in to no music or to normal American pop - there's some great Indian contemporary music on now that I would listen to even if I wasn't sitting in a restaurant. As I have not been here for lunch, I can't comment on that, either. So, the complaints in other reviews are not without merit, but I'm here for the food, and I'll be back - hopefully often!

Great food and service. Enjoyed their Saturday lunch buffet. Aloo zucchini was my favorite. Very tasty!

Horrible service.. We have tried tons of indian restaurants and this one won the award of worst restaurant ! Rude guys (older males ) and served curry after 45 min from order and Nan's after an hour and 10 minutes when the curries were cold Do yourself a favor if you want a better experience , there are plenty of other indian restaurants near by !

Had a chicken jalfrezi, it tasted like it used a canned tomato soup as a base, not good. The naan was fine though, and the service. I am all for using a stock sauce for curries, but it should be an onion based sauce, it is sweeter, and has less of that commercial flavour.

Another update: the new guy who works there is so rude. And tried to change me 6.99 for my one year old. He played it off like "oh, I thought he was 5". haha smooth but I'm not paying that. Then my husband waited so long for more water that he just got up and got it self. Then my card had FOUR pending cheer he's from them. This place HAD it together when the women were running the joint. But with this new guy- forget it. We won't be back. And by look of the crowd, neither will a lot of other people bc they used to be packed.

I recently tried out Deeya with my boyfriend who'd never had Indian before. We shared an order of paneer masala, ate til we were full, and still had a bit to take home! The naan appetizer with spice tray was delicious and definitely prepared us for our spicy entree. Our waiter was sweet as could be and helped us navigate through the menu. Service was great, food was fresh and delicious, i couldn't ask for anything more.. 5 stars!!

So I enter this place and there are few customers and all are looking at each other... Caus there is no food... No rice no appetizers and no chutneys.. Only one staff person and I don't blame her she was doing a good just running back and forth.. I asked her could I get the pakora appetizer since they have only crumbles left in the pan.. She goes to the kitchen and comes back with 4 tiny pieces.. And I bite into one and it drips oil like a spoonful of it.. They were old and just retried to give it a fresh look. Too bad for a place which charges 12$ for buffet and says we ran out of dessert at the end Never again.

Delicious! Have eaten here many times and never had something I didn't like. Favorites are saag paneer, butter chicken and anything from the Tamdoori grill section of the menu. Yum.

It is a cute place and the server has been helpful in ordering. Be very careful. If you ask for anything it will be charged! You will not be told but then you will have a high bill at the end. If you want to try this place I suggestion the lunch buffet. We will never come again for dinner.

We got take out tonight......amazing Butter Chicken! Highly recommend it. Very tender chicken, creamy red sauce and perfectly spiced. They need to make the rice bowl that accompanies the entree a little more full. We still had Butter Chicken left, but no rice to put it over. We will definitely try this place again.

Ate here recently- not impressed. Ordered Chicken Tikka- was dry/bland and did not come with rice. Was charged $2.50 extra for a small bowl of rice. Disappointing. My wife ordered a vegetarian dish that appeared to have store bought frozen mixed veggies (like those from Costco) instead or fresh veggies. In all- we have eaten at far better Indian food.

Grand Opening!?? We came for a lunch buffet around 1 pm. All of the food trays were half empty or completely empty.. No white rice or naan. Had to ask and wait for it around 10 min. And you have to pay 15 dollars per person with drinks. Pure disappointment...

I have to say the chicken tikka marsala is to die for. I had it "indian hot" for the first time and it was too hot, the second time opted for "hot" and it was so amazing! Still hot so I ordered extra rice! MMM I can't wait to go back!

Saw this place on Groupon so decided to try it. So glad I did! I ordered the garlic nan which was delicious. For dinner, I had the chicken Marsala which was even better. The cream sauce that it was in was just fabulous. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because the service wasn't the best and without the groupon it would have been pretty pricey. I will def come back though. Prob for lunch when it's a bit cheaper. Highly would recommend this place though!

Deeya has moved from East Bay to Gulf to Bay, which is lucky for me, since it's now closer to home. Needless to say, we've been twice in the last week! Once for lunch and once for dinner. I had the lamb vindaloo both times. It's divine. Hot, well spiced and a decent sized portion. Himself had the chicken tikka masala (and loved it) for dinner, and overstuffed his belly at the lunch buffet. I'm not a big chicken fan, but the vegetarian dishes were delicious! Also, some of the best garlic naan bread I've eaten: crispy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside - just perfect! We'll be back!

Came there with a few friends. It's in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is nice and clean, tasteful decoration. Looks like they have a lunch buffet but we're there for dinner. Ordered Poori bread with mango chutney. Very good as expected. Ordered both vegetable and meat Samosa. Vegetable was OK but meat was amazing. Ordered lamb Korma, Chicken Masala, Lamb Curry, and chicken Korma. All were amazing but the best was chicken Masala. The big surprise was the Mango Lassi. It's a sweet drink, a little thick, and tastes amazing. The waiter was very nice, very helpful and friendly. Service was quick and very attentive but not too much. Great experience. Will definitely be back. Happy to have found a great Indian Restaurant on our first try.

It was A-okay! Todd B. And I met for lunch and had the lunch buffet. If you're a chicken eater, then you can get your money's worth, if you're vegetarian, then not so much. There were at least four chicken dishes to choose from. For me, all there was was the salad - which was just ice burg lettuce with onions and cucumbers (10 different dressings) - and naan, fried vegetables, cooked veggies and some lentils. The fried vegetable clusters was good - but doesn't everything fried taste good? The naan was excellent. Homemade for sure. They had mango pudding. I'll try anything mango. It was okay. I would have preferred just slices of mango! The servers were so kind. Always filling water glasses. He even came around with extra freshly baked naan straight from the oven. It was pricey, so I wouldn't do the buffet again, but I may try their regular menu sometime.

Decent lunch buffet but over priced ($13) for selection. Typical Indian buffet offerings - naan, rice, chickpea dish, pakora, lentil dish, peas & cheese, potato dish, and 3 chicken options (butter, vindaloo, tandoori). Food was good, but nothing OMG and for $13 a person I expect more options and more meat options. Buffet wasn't fully stocked on our first pass through - out of naan, 1 scoop of the potato dish, no chicken in the butter chicken, etc. - it wasn't very busy either so the staff should have been a bit more attentive on making sure items were stocked and hot. While it's close we probably won't revisit. Hoping Clay Oven owners open soon in a new location..... ;)

Love this place! Always quiet here and great service! Nice setting, comfortable booths, and wonderful food. A must try! Come at lunch and do the Buffett so you can try many things if you are uncertain.

I LOVE the BUTTER CHICKEN. I want to marry the butter chicken. We have finally found an Indian restaurant that we love! This small restaurant looks like it was once a billiard or possibly an establishment of ill -repute. It is located in a dimly lit strip mall. But please don't let that throw you off. The food is authentically delicious. The butter chicken was obviously my favorite. Please don't make the same mistake I did and think that you will want to share this dish with your children. After the first bite, I looked at my two kids and wondered how much rice I could fill them up on before they asked for more butter chicken. Horrible of me, I know. But it's the truth. Also good is the naan. You can order garlic, onion, chili or regular naan. My husband loved the chili naan and the kids and I gobbled up the garlic. Please be warned that when you order your food spicy at an Indian restaurant, it is going to be HOT! My husband's nose was running the entire meal and he loved it. I implore you to please try this restaurant. I need it to stay in business so that I can get my butter chicken fix. I imagine this obsession is akin to crack. Don't let the outside appearance deter you. The food is worth it! I almost gave this review 4 stars due to the appearance of the restaurant but decided against it. The ambience makes it even more authentic.

It was very good but very pricey. The Mango Kulfi for one dessert came in 2 small sauce size containers for $3.50 which should be $.99. Don't get me wrong, it is very good but like I said very pricey. Most likely will not be going back.

The BF and I had been wanting to try out Deeya for quite some time, so we recently made the decision to stop in for dinner on a Saturday evening. When we arrived there was no wait and we were seated right away, although the place was not totally empty, but not packed either. It took quite a while for the server to come by for our drink order and to drop off menus. Although we browsed the menu for a bit, I pretty much knew what I wanted from the start, the usual: vegetables samosas for an app, garlic naan and an order of butter chicken. My BF never tried Indian food before this, and since I know the portion sizes are normally huge, we just decided to share the butter chicken. The samosas came out first. They had a decent flavor but were a bit soft and could have been cooked a bit longer. The 4 sauces that came with them were excellent and helped to add a bit of spice. The garlic naan and our butter chicken came out next. The naan was a bit overpowering with the garlic flavor and we would probably order plain next time. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious in every way. Good portion size for 2 people sharing. Since we both like a bit of "kick", we ordered it medium spicy. Let me just say, Indian "medium" is like what I would consider hot for sure. We were both drinking water like it was going out of style. When we mixed the chicken and sauce with the naan and rice, it did help to cut the spicyness a bit. Overall, still excellent and satisfying. The only slight downside was the slow service here. Throughout our whole experience, we had 2 different servers simultaneously, yet they were inattentive at times and we had to keep flagging them down for more drinks and the check. Then, when the check came out, they had charged us for 15 butter chickens(!) rather than the 1 we had ordered and it took a while for them to come back with a corrected receipt. Would I come here again? Yes, most definitely. I will just be prepared for a bit of slow service and will order the chicken mild next time. But I will be back & will be ready for a tasty, savory Indian meal. Overall fantastic meal.

This place was very very nice both in the atmosphere and the staff. I was well taken care of. The highlight of any meal is learning about its origins or how it is served at home. My server did not let me down as she shared her satisfaction and delight for the dish but explained how it was a very common dish that was served very commonly, like in market. The appetizer was the Samoa Chaat with chickpeas and onions. The main course was the Veg Alfresco with sauteed vegetables (onions and peppers). Accompanied by Garlic Nana. Everything was fresh and balanced with the vegetables. One thing I look for at Indian Restaurant is the balance of spices. Many people, the first thing they ask is it hot n Spicey. I tell them and believe that a good Indian Restaurant will balance the spices so you get a complimentary flavor. An excellent Indian Restaurant will have your tastebuds hit different high points in the same bite. While excellent is hard to find Deeya got real close and is worth a visit.

We ate here as it was on our way back home from Orlando and we kept passing the "Indian cuisine" sign in the road from previous treks across the Courtney Campbell so we finally decided to quench our thirst of curiosity. I can't say that it was better or worse than the Deeya on East Bay as I've only had catering from there and I didn't order the exact entrees that I've had there before. But as far as THIS Deeya- they served as the initial appetizer of the crispy naan with the cumin seeds and the chutneys on the side. Good as usual although the condiment levels could have used a refill. We also ordered garlic naan which was savory and fresh- great! I ordered eggplant as I was on a budget and my boyfriend ordered the butter chicken. We both enjoyed our dishes respectively. It is likely we would come back again since it's right around the corner but in general entrees at most Indian restaurants (including this one) are all $10+ and I'm operating on an under $10 budget for eating out right now. See you again when I bring home more dough- or shall I say, more naan?

Listen to me... B E S T Indian food I've encountered in FL. PERIOD. Chicken Tika = Perfect & Consistent (never moist, then dry..always on point) Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry, Saag, Dhal, etc, etc.. everything is spiced properly (just like my favorite places in NY).. This is what I've come to expect "good" Indian food to taste like. I'm SO HAPPY I gave them a shot, as they were in a lil' strip mall (but I guess everything in FL is) and from the outside they looked like nothin' special..but boy was I wrong. Enjoy the food! Big ups to "Jimy" -- yes, that's how he spells it, Jimy from NY, a real good dude! See you soon.

Went with a large party for dinner on a Saturday night - we made reservations. The food was INCREDIBLE. We were in no rush and stayed until closing. Naan, butter chicken, channa masala, and every dish we ordered was great! They did it right. Could use some polish on the service staff but otherwise a great experience. Please go here - I need this place to stay in business because it is the only place I know of in Clearwater to get fantastic Indian food.
