If you want a better bagel then you'll have to head north about 1149 miles. If you've read the the one star reviews are are tuned off then consider that the authors have no reference point having never had an authentic bagel, from a bagel shop in the tri-state area - period. Any comparison to Einstein's is as poor a comparison as Peter Luger's to the Outback steakhouses.

Best bagels I can find around and I love the jalapeno cream cheese.

These are bagels. That's all I can say about this place. Basically just bagels and cream cheese. They don't have sandwiches!!!! Also the bagels are nothing special.. Kinda dry and crunchy. I just can not find a good bagel down here. You're better off going to Einstein or dunkin

First off, their bagels and cream cheese are amazing! But... 4 out of 5 times that we went there they got my order wrong. I always order a poppyseed bagel, toasted, with plain cream cheese (not too difficult). The last time we went, I got an un-toasted pumpernickel bagel, and I realized while they make your bagel that they don't wear gloves. Also they go from handling money, to making bagels, and back to handling money without washing their hands. So from here on out I will be going to Einstein Bagels (where they wear gloves).

I've been here several times. The bagels and cream cheese are okay, but here's what bothered me.. If you're not going to wear gloves, hand washing MUST be very frequent. Especially when handling money. The last time I went, the same person that took my order, made my bagel. When he reached to take my card, his finger nail was BLACK underneath. They were busy, and I don't like to make a scene, so I threw out the bagel as I left. One other observation. I've noticed any negative reviews are being commented on in a very harsh tone. Constructive criticism should be welcomed not attacked. Yelp is not for bullying.

Love the Authentic Jewish bagels they offer and the 2 cream cheeses that I have tried are delicious. My fav so far is the not so spicy jalapeno. They offer fresh baked Rugula, which looks delicious but I have not tried yet and offer some coffee's. The one thing I don't love is the prices or the lack of seating. If those small details were to change I would frequent this place much more often as I am a huge fan of Jewish food. When I go its a small treat to myself so a place to relax and indulge would be better than walking in to buy and walking out to eat in my car.

Forget Einstein bagels across the street. If you want to good bagel this is the spot in Clearwater Florida. Family owned and operated. Support local. And by far the best bagel in this area.

Yummy! Best bagels ever! Really great bagels and cream cheese, decent prices and super nice people. I'd never been here before it's like a hidden secret but it's awesome and I'll definitely be going back!

Pretty pricey for a small bagel joint. It's been around since the early 80s. I remember going here with my dad when I was younger but for $6 I expect more. You could get the same menu items at St Pete bagel on 4th street for literally half the price. Oh and they charge you 20 cents to toast your bagel! WTF?!?!

Good authentic bagels. That's what Clearwater Bagels is about. They have been around since the 80s. They use to make awesome bagels. I hope they still do. Haven't been there in awhile. I remember hand rolled bagels with the water being imported from NYC. It makes the difference.

OK, so depending on where we are from, our experiences are different. There are two kinds of baking. One way to bake is to boil them in water first. This is exactly what Clearwater Bagel does. This produces an authentic exterior, making it easier to eat with lox and cream cheese. But it is completely different than the OTHER way is simply baking it without boiling the dough in water first. Einstein is an example of simply baking without pre-boiling and it is more of an Impersonator bagel. Panera also pulls off the baking only technique. I am a fan of both. For people who grew up in the East Coast and MidWest, where there are a lot of places that boil their bagels, Clearwater satisfies. Where things seem to go wrong at Clearwater Bagel, and I am CERTAIN the owner knows, is the handling of money and baked goods. No ONE wants to use wax paper sheets. (At the writing of this review - CostCo offers a 500ct box for $3.94. That means they will take roughly a 40 cent loss or something on a dozen?) Either way, whenever I went to a bagel place in the MidWest or New York, they always used a means to protect money germs from the fresh baked goods. This guy doesn't. I have purchased probably a dozen ten times. Every time there are no gloves and no consideration for keeping money germs of the baked goods. Panera does it. Einstein does it. All bakeries do it. But not this guy. I even mentioned it once, and he said 'Excuse me??!?' So I dropped the conversation, with the "tough guy" routine. I honestly do not understand how a guy doing this for decades is so resistant to being smart? Has he never heard of germs? Does he steam clean the coins and paper money? What's the trick? So much of his time goes into the quality of the product; the displaying of the product, the maintenance of the oven and so forth. But that last 40 cent hit: ...just too much for him! I have to assume he simply doesn't want to care about it. He's a fully grown man and makes the decisions he wants to make.

Fantastic bagels and rugelach. It's great to find authentic bagels in an unlikely place. The old-school vibe is perfect and if you'd like your server disinfected and wrapped in plastic you can go to Einstein's Bagels.

+ awesome bagels - very small I like this bagel place much better than Einstein just down the road. Their bagels are crispier on the outside and better tasting. Bagels are around $5 for 1/2 dozen. The poppy seed bagel is perfect, the pumpernickel places a

I like this place. The bagels and cream cheese are very tasty. The coffee is really good. The reason i"m going 3 star though instead of 4 or 5 is the size and price of bagels. One Bagel with a fair but not exceptional amount of cream cheese is $3.00, and the bagel is kinda on the small side. Now on the flip side if you need several bagels and cream cheese the story is a little different. A half dozen with enough cream cheese for almost twice that many is only like $10.00. So for almost the same price as 3 individual bagels, you get twice that many, and way more cream cheese. $10.00 isn't bad for making me a hero in the morning at work.

I come from up north, these are the best bagels in the area that I have found. They are fresh daily and don't even need to be toasted. The guy that is usually there when I go in is very kind too!

I love Clearwater Bagels. Awesome staff, fresh homemade ingredients. Locally owned and not some chain who just sees you as a dollar sign. Visit at least 2 times per week. The salt bagel toasted with jalapeño cream cheese is the way to go!!!

Dont waste your time or money here! We stopped on a Saturday morning and the shop was dead, and for good reason. Their prices are insanely ridiculous! It should not cost almost $30 for 4 bagels and 2 coffees. And everything we had was mediocre at best. The staff was S.L.O.W., rude and lifeless. Our bagels had barely any cream cheese and the coffee wasn't anything to brag about. They didn't have a very large variety of bagels for a place that focuses on only 1 product. Every time i pass this place and see customers in the store (which is rare mind you) I feel bad for every penny they spend. You can get better bagels and coffee across the street at Einstein Bagels and for a quarter of the price!

Good bagels from former New Yorkers. I'll be back.

Excellent bagels. They are authentic, and worth the extra money. My only concern is that the workers grab the bagels with their bare hands. They should wear gloves.

Great place for to go bagels and bagel dogs. Great selection of fresh bagels. I like to pick up a dozen or two for snacks at a.m. meetings. They also make a small desert pastry called rugulah which is heavenly.

Huge disappointment. Hardly the level of NY bagels. I got there late but the bagels were small, dry and had little taste. I came fairly late and would like to try them again in the morning but the distance I had to drive to get them makes that highly unlikely. Oh and it was fairly pricey for a bagel with a schmear of cream cheese.

Bagels are excellent. Soft and chewy. The coffee however left much to be desired. Hit a coffee joint after you pick up your bagels and your morning is off to a good start.

The only proper bagels in Pinellas County. Worth a long ride to bring home a dozen or two for the freezer. Bare bones, nothing but bins of fresh bagels and a pick-up counter, but so what? Come early for freshest bagels.
