High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

I've only been here one time so far. I ordered the quesadilla burger, which was actually better than I expected it would be. The restaurant was clean, and the service was very prompt. When we mentioned that we had somewhere to be that evening, our server really hustled to get us in and out while still providing good service. This is one of the rare occasions that I have stopped somewhere before checking the Yelp reviews. When I did, I was a bit surprised that they were as low as they were. Hopefully the management is turning a corner? That said, the menu is typical TGIF/Chili's type of fair, not bland, but also not that adventurous.

This restaurant is very clean and the entire staff was very attentive and very pleasant. My waitress Victoria was super sweet and there for any of my needs. She was on-the-ball. I ordered a Heineken, yes at 11 am, its T.G.I.F., and was ice cold. My husband oredered the new burger from the current t.v. commercials, the All Day Brunch Burger. Oh My Gosh!!! I started eating his food instead of my own. A must at this restaurant . Ordered medium . Delicious!!! Taste even better than the commercial made it look...

WARNING: Do not send anything back! I went in Friday night, late, for their 1/2 prices apps . I bite into my chicken , it was cold and old, I put the two piecs I had bitten into , back on the plate , and sent it back . They re dropped the chicken and served the same chicken back to me , including the ones I ate off of ! How disgusting. The service was slow, snails pace slow (hardly anyone was there) The place is very clean .

Slow service with just okay food. Save your time and just go to chilis. Services was slow and just off. Had to ask for things like silver wear, plates and drink refills. You could overhear neighboring tables having the same issues. Had the bacon burger. Had no flavor really except grease. Was just dripping in grease. On a positive note the pot stickers and strawberry lemonade were good!

Even worse than the last few times. See pictures for the few fries they gave us, after waiting over 10 minutes past when our food should have been ready for pick up. Ugh!

We waited 15 mins & had to find our own server. Meanwhile, as soon as the hispanics were seated, the manager rushed over to apologize that the waitress had not come. My order was wrong. The utensils were filthy. The only other black people were made to wait at the table for over 15 mins until I called and told Lisa they had not been seen. Manager did not come until we were almost done. Lisa claimed it was not racism but was not able to find other blacks who had been served. She said all races had been served that day. I asked if Chinese had been served. She said, "Yes. Asians have been in that day." I asked again about Chinese. Lisa implied they were all the same. The worst and most racist dining experience in white some time.

First time out at the brand new Applebees. I came out with my husband and a friend for dinner around 7pm Saturday night. There was a 20 minute wait with no room at the bar. The new place is very nice, clean, modern. A definite upgrade from the old Applebees in Maitland. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The place was very loud, though. Multiple times I asked her a question about an item on the menu to be responded with "great I'll put that order in for you." I wasn't ordering it, I was asking a question about it. Not her fault, just a noisy/busy place. This location is brand new, but the menus looked like they had been grandfathered in from a previous location. Wet, sticky with half the print torn off. My menu looked like it had just been dropped in a sink of dirty dishes. It was nasty, I made sure to wash my hands thoroughly after we ordered. It was also very dark in there. They have Blue "mood lighting." It almost put me to sleep. Food and drink service was really slow. Our waitress kept coming by to apologize for the long wait. Once the food came it was okay. The side salads were huge, almost entree size. I ordered the fried shrimp with no fries. The waitress brought the fries anyways because they charge me for them regardless. Good for our wallet but bad for my diet. They have some pretty decent 2-4-1s. I normally pass on the 2-4-1s because you get what you pay for = less alcohol and low quality mixers. Not the case this trip. I had the 2-4-1 Mojitos. They definitely were not authentic, some club soda or sprite in the mix, mint was not muddled at all, just plopped in on top, still pretty tasty and decently potent for a 2-4-1. We rounded out the meal with a pecan blondie. One of my favorite desserts of all time. Our bill for myself and my husband came out to just over $60. Do I feel like I got great value for the price, not really. I definitely could have gotten better value for my buck at a non-chain restaurant, but all in all not a bad local neighborhood place. Glad to have a new dining option in Casselberry. They also have Black Light parties on specified nights. Not exactly sure what that entails, but sounds interesting. Bar is open until 2 am and they half priced appetizers during lunch and after 10pm.

Walked in and it smelled like garbage. A sign to leave but I was starving so just sat outside. There was two dogs there and I didn't like that. Love animals. But not two dogs barking at each other while I eat. The atmosphere was very loud and annoying. The service was horrible and to top it off the food was discusting. I will never go hear again. My dad said he heard bad things and I should have listened.

Today was my first visit to this Applebee's location, and it will be the last. I went for dinner with my husband and children. When we walked in, I was surprised to see that the hostess was wearing a tank top and mini skirt, is this Applebee's or Hooters? Another hostess' tattoos were clearly visible. The dining area appeared very cluttered and tables were too close together. Our server, Scott, was polite and friendly. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time. My daughter ordered the mini cheeseburger, and I was surprised to see just how small it was! More like a slider. The food is average at best. I don't think it is a good value for the money. My daughter's meal included a rainbow sherbet. A different server brought it to our table, and asked, "is this for the baby?" Our son is 2 months old, so it obviously wasn't for him- she was referring to our nearly 6-year-old daughter! I was annoyed, and said "she's not a baby, but yes, it's for her". The server got snippy and said "I didn't mean anything by it" and I said "it's ok". She clicked her tongue and stomped off. I saw her say something to another server who then gave me a dirty look as well. She acted as trashy as she looked. FYI, the sherbet was one of those little paper cups that probably cost less than a dollar. The decor is terrible too. Plenty of pictures of cheerleaders and girls in bikinis. Avoid this place at all costs!

UPDATE! What is wrong with this place? I went yet again and I swear they must hire idiots and have no manager. The hostess seated us outside and when SHE noticed the dirty ashtray at the table she did nothing about it. Thanks honey I'll move it off the table. Our server was nice enough once she got to the table but didn't provide us with silverware and napkins and took away our nachos before we were done. The table behind us (people we knew but we were not dining with) had issues with just about everything. Came here 3 times and I am not impressed. The first time we went it was a Saturday night and they had some kind of black light full moon party - it was SO LOUD THAT IT WAS UNBEARABLE!!! The food was good and service was fast. Thank goodness because I wanted to get out. The staff seemed to be having more fun than the customers. Came back on a Friday - Sat outside on the patio. I had fish tacos and my husband had a burger - very good. Service was OK - we had issues with getting another round of drinks. If you are going to have an outside area you need to come outside and check on your customers not just to talk to your co workers who are having a cigarette while waiting for a ride. Back again for lunch with the family on a Saturday afternoon. Hostess "How many in your party?" Me "There are 7" Hostess. "Do you want to sit together? " .....Really? They had to put together 2 tables - it is so cramped in there so unless you are a party of 4 I would go elsewhere.. Our server was nice but it is so loud in there that we couldn't hear each other very well so he didn't get our order correct but he corrected it very quickly. I had a BLT - Last I checked a BLT was Bacon Lettuce and Tomato. They feel the need to add cheese. Maybe it says it on the menu but it was a little dark where I was sitting so i didn't read the fine print. I want to like it here - the food is decent for the price but the atmosphere is terrible and the staff is just ok not great.

Well, thought we would give this place another shot.... Perhaps first round of service was just that it's a new place, or the holidays. It wasn't. This place is awful. Service was a bit better, but no bussing of the tables while we ate, and we had to ask for refills again. ( although they were received quicker- and we didn't have to ask again!) The steak I ordered tasted like fish. Ewwww. And while we were there, every table in our section had something to complain about to the manager...... We watched him apologize to each table, adjust charges, and give incentives to return. Poor guy. If I was the business investor of this place, I'd be upset. And I would close and beg to have a grand re-opening. Ugh. Drive the extra 5 minutes and go to Denny's. Or better yet, stay home and have some friends come over. I hope this place changes into something better soon!

Thumbs down to this place unless you crave bad food and bad service. I can't remember the name of the burger I ordered but it was as bad as it gets. It looked fine but looks can be deceiving. There was some kind of generic BBQ sauce on it that left a horrible after taste and gave me an upset stomach well into the next day. My friend ordered the same burger (what can I say, we have the same taste) and had the same complaint. For some reason his had much more sauce than mine, MUCH more. The sauce was so bad neither of us even remember much else about the burger. When I took the picture of the burger the server (who was unkempt and sketchy, jittery/nervous) came over and asked, "Why are you taking a picture? Let me see that picture! Is something wrong??" It really caught me off guard. Am I the first person she's ever seen take a picture of the food? I find that hard to believe. She kept on questioning me about the picture but it was hard to hear over all the noise in the restaurant. All the employees looked sketchy and unkempt. I've seen better groomed employees at a dive gas station. We got the shooter desserts. They were ok, certainly nothing to write home about. I had to sneak the pictures of them, God forbid she catch me taking another picture. Save your money and go some place else.

Late night stop for appetizers & a nightcap. First thing we notice is the very small crowd, followed immediately by the complete absence of servers. Patient. No hurry. It's cool. We'll wait. Small talk among friends becomes long talk. Hmmmmmmm. How long have we been sitting here? Finally, a sweaty and obviously-harried waitperson walks by - quick, grab her. Missed. More small talk. More waiting. Here she comes again - excuse me, hello? She stops, turns, drops cocktail napkins on our table, and proceeds to regale us with her personal issues of how busy she is, how lousy her evening has gone, how tired she is, and o by the way, did we want to order anything? Nah. We're good. It's late. We changed our mind. Didn't realize how tired we are, and we really need to go. We'll come back soon. Thank you. Or not. Crazy world we live in - a national chain that advertises how they are a great late-night option, and we stop in 3 hours before their 2am closing, yet don't staff their location with enough employees, not to mention hiring someone who absolutely loathes their job. Haven't been to an Applebee's in more than 10 years - now I know why.

Cook has no ifea what rare is, cooks steak so that it could be used as a shoe sole. Had 2 bad experiences and wrote an email to management who could not be bothered to respond, perhaps they get so many negative emails.

Keep your eyes open and save your receipts. Last Saturday night at the bar one of the female bartender decided to cash in on my gift card and give herself an extra $4 tip after I added a zero with a slash. We left a 15% cash tip even though we felt like ghost in the joint. They were not very attentive unless we spoke up. You know that it is immediate termination for what she did. I have another GM from another Applebee's looking into it. Where are the honest, hardworking young people nowadays? Advice if paying with a card and leaving cash as a tip remember 2 things: 1. Zero out and state cash tip on receipt 2. Rewrite the total

Me and my friend went in just to get some dessert for the night, we got sat right away. Our server Jen, greeted us right away. It's was okay until she bought our waters and we asked for lemon, no lemon. Our plates were dirty the table was dirty. As we waited 10 minutes just for some lemon. She finally came back and as we were ordering our dessert she had her back towards us twirling her hair and no even paying attention to us? Professional? Don't think so. Well we ordered our dessert and funny thing... The WRONG DESSERT came out. While that happened Jen was just at the host stand just talking to the host and cussing and ignoring us while our table was RIGHT THERE. We had to get another waiter to get our right dessert that we wanted which took another 15 minutes. Finally got our dessert. And when it came time for the bill... We got charged for the wrong one. Last straw. We asked for the manager. We explained how horrible the service was and all the manager had to say was "I have never heard anything bad about Jen?" Is that really all you had to say? Dirty plates, tables, wrong order, server cursing right by our table.. And that's all she had to say. NEVER COMING BACK. This place is horrible. Ridiculous service.

I've been to this Applebee's several times now at all different times of the day. I can tell you I've never waited more than 10 minutes to sit and my food is always out within 10-15 minutes of me ordering. My food is always hot and delicious and my drinks are always on point. I'm really glad this one opened so close to me as they are my favorite place to grab a drink after work or have a nice quick lunch. The service is always exceptional and everyone is really nice and attentive. The hosts seem a little confused at times when I have gone but I come from hospitality and I know it happens occasionally. I would recommend this Applebee's to anyone and I will be back again.

After being seated we waited about 50 minutes to get our drinks. After waiting for our drinks we waited another 45 minutes for our food. We had the worst service ever. The food wasn't cooked well and the service was awful I don't recommend this Applebee's but maybe another would be better.

I was so excited to find out an Applebee's was opening up around the corner from my home, but unfortunately this location had been a let down. Our recent experience lead to our food being comped and being given $20 in coupons to come back. The manager spilled chocolate milk on my husband and didn't apologize, they got both our orders wrong, and our appetizer was cold. This visit was after we decided to give them a chance when we had a previous unsatisfactory visit where we were given coupons as well.

We have been several times to this location, mostly for curb side take out orders and only a couple times inside. We live close and were excited to see something new go in to where the old buffet restaurant was, but have been disappointed with most of our experiences..if not the food, the service, or lack thereof. Each time we have gone inside to eat, something has been wrong. Appetizers were never received, servers nowhere to be found, etc. Curb side we have had better luck with but this last time I sat waiting for 10 minutes before I decided to call and ask if the order was ready. When the woman I spoke with answered she said she saw a bag that could be mine and asked what I ordered. I told her the order and she said that yes it was mine. She came out, no bags in hand, but with the check (that was paid online) and said I still needed to sign. She apologized, saying she doesn't normally work the to go orders and that she would bring my order out shortly. A few more minutes passed and another woman (presumably some sort of manager) walked past my car with several bags (I was hoping were mine!!) and said someone would be out with my order, and continued to her car. I can understand you're leaving, etc, but if I have already paid online, you're walking to your car, just help the girl out and bring the extra bag with you and hand it to me on your way. By this point it has been close to 20 minutes that I was waiting for my order in the parking lot..on top of the 15 minutes the website gave for them to prepare everything. I finally got my order and was on my way..the food itself was fine, but too many so so experiences make me hesitant to go back, which really is a shame because it is so convenient and we don't want to cook at home..Eh :\

We have gone to this location several times since it opened. Was very pleased with the food and service before and very happy that the powers that be decided on this location. Tonight, totally different story. We walked in and immediately bombarded by very loud music, like a bar, I asked if they could have it turned down and received a weird response and then the waiter, stated, "well this is a bar and grille setting". which I thought was a very strange response. After noticing that they were not going to make any effort to lower the sound level, we got up and left, sadly. They should realize it is a restaurant with a bar, not the other way around. I have had this complaint before at previous Applebee's but I thought this one was different. Oh well....

Second time at this location, and I was very pleased with both my meal and my guest's. We were seated very quickly, the table and area around us was very clean. Waitress was very attentive, and the floor manager came by to see if we were satisfied. The main meal for both of us came out right on time after our order of hot crisp potato chips and the excellent queso blanco was finished. The two for twenty meal combinations are ample servings and both of us took food home.

We have eaten at this location several times, and we're very pleased with the food and service. That said, tonight was totally different, and disappointing. After getting seated, we waited (seemingly unnoticed) for 10 minutes until I got up and went to find our server. Finally ordered the 2 for 20$ Bourbon chicken and shrimp. Food was delivered in a timely manner but really lacked in its presentation. Expected a somewhat sweet bar b que dish, but received a very dry portion of chicken and 6 equally dry and tasteless shrimp wits a few mushrooms and onions on the top. After trying to eat it I asked for some additional sauce for my meal, and received a very small portion of something supposed to be the Bourbon sauce. Don't know what it was but it was Nasty! Ready to go since no refills of our drinks were not forthcoming, and finally got the attention of our server so we could leave. PS.. No offer of dessert. Probably will go back, and just hope this was an isolated incident .

The service is always exceptional and everyone is really nice and attentive. The hosts seem a little confused at times when I have gone but I come from hospitality and I know it happens occasionally. I would recommend this Applebee's to anyone and I will be back again.

The service was a joke we received dirty silverware dirty menus. The food tasted like it came out of a frozen TV dinner box!

Ugh!

Cook has no ifea what rare is, cooks steak so that it could be used as a shoe sole. Had 2 bad experiences and wrote an email to management who could not be bothered to respond, perhaps they get so many negative emails.
