Romano’s Greek and Italian Cuisine Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I wasn't sure what to think when my mom told me about a greek and Italian restaurant. But I'm really glad I gave it a chance. The food was really good. My mom and I split the gyro platter as all their servings are massive. We also split the greek salad, and I have to say it wasn't what I was expecting. It was good but the sauce was pink and didn't taste like the typical greek salad dressing I'm used to. Everyone we went with enjoyed their meal and I will be back to eat my way through their menu.

Friendly staff. Restaurant was clean. Since their expansion there has been a little change in prices. $$$$. But overall- The food was decent like always. I ordered the lemon egg soup and it was good. Husband ordered the baked Romano ziti. Food was nice and hot, which is important to me. Portions are huge. Plenty to take home with you.

Romanos has been a stalwart restaurant in Brandon for as long as I can remember. They specialize in Greek and Italian cuisine. If you're ordering the Greek salad, get the mini, it's plenty. The dressing is homemade, as is all of the food. I had a aside if meatballs today instead of the usual grilled chicken because I wanted to taste them. The had great flavor but the texture was way too soft for my liking almost mush-like which detracted from my liking. The wait staff is very menu knowledgable, polite and expedient. The air conditioning seem to be on the blink so it was a bit on the hot side. I have had their soups and sandwiches in the past, all are plentiful portions and have been tasty. Stop on in and enjoy a meal.

Tucked into the back of a small shopping center behind a video store, Romano's has been serving Greek and Italian food for a long, long time. Restaurants come and go on Brandon Boulevard (SR 60), but very little has changed at this hole-in-the-wall (a few tables, a few booths) since I first discovered it over five years ago. I still enjoy the house salad with homemade creamy dressing and lots of slivered red onion. I still love the Greek pasta, available only at dinnertime, covered with garlic, feta, and olive oil so generously that you've got to save your garlic bread to sop up the remainder. One thing that HAS changed, however, is that they now serve Coke products and not Pepsi. I was moderately sorry to hear it, but that doesn't change my rating. If you've never had a horiatiki salad, which Romano's calls "the original Greek salad" (as opposed to a lettuce-based dish with a mound of potato salad in the center), do try this one. It's composed of Heimlich-inducingly large chunks of cucumber and ripe red tomato, handfuls of Kalamata olives (with pits), plenty of slivers of red onion, ample blocks of feta, and an olive-oil dressing -- and no lettuce. You won't miss it one bit.

Me and my friend went for dinner on a Friday evening and had a short worth while wait for fantastic authentic Greek cuisine. The service was the only thing that needs improvement. It's a family run restaurant and you can tell the second that you walk in. It has a small and dated waiting area with their kids playing on their phones and chatting while taking up a majority of the seats to wait for your table. All in all, if you want authentic Greek cuisine and reasonable prices, this is a must visit.

Breakfast was served quickly and expertly this morning at our new go to place. Tried the Mushroom Benedict and could not have been more pleased. My wife tried the Biscuits and Gravy and was really happy with it. The staff is friendly and always smiling. We were sat by the owner and he checked in a couple of times during our meal. We would recommend this place to all we meet.

I had the baked spaghetti with sausage. It was very good. I was only interested in about 25% of the menu. I don't normally like Gyros, but I had a bite of my husband's, and it was good. I will order it next time for my meal. We also had calamari, it was very tasty. Inside was nice and clean. There is tint on the windows, which makes it a little dark. Could be nice for a romantic dinner. The service was friendly. We'll be back. This could be a good usual spot for Gyros and Italian food.

Today, I stopped in for lunch. I was itching for a Gyro, and this place looked good (after browsing the photos). They have both Italian and Mediterranean food on the menu. The food was very good. The Gyro was loaded up! Very tasty and filing! The restaurant is nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside. The service was fast and friendly, and the dining area was nice and clean. Overall, a great place to have lunch. This will be my usual Gyro spot in Brandon.

All the stars!! This is definitely our new favorite place. The service is so friendly and you can tell that they invested a lot of love into their small business. The place is spotless and well lit, the menu is large enough to please picky eaters and health nuts, portions are large and prices are very reasonable. We had garlic bread, soup, salad, lasagna and chicken tortellini alfredo as well as a few desserts to go, and there was nothing we didn't love. Highly, highly recommend!

Excellent! So yummy! I had the gyro and Greek salad meal. Wow! It was huge and oh so delicious. I just loved every bite of it. My boyfriend had the gyro platter. The sizes were so big. I am also 100% happy about the service. My waitress was amazing! I'll have to get her name and edit it to the review. So impressed. We also had the Venetian soup it was so creamy and yummy.

Food isn't over-priced and we just really enjoyed the food/atmosphere in general. We had Greek food but will try their Italian dishes next time. :) The stuffed grape leaves were pretty tasty! Went to Romano's on a late Saturday afternoon based on the Yelp reviews. The restaurant's exterior was filthy front and rear, and the stench of old, stale cooking oil permeated the air. And, no, it wasn't the smell of automobile oil from the auto mechanic next door. I know the difference between the smell of automobile oil and fluids versus old cooking oil. Entered the restaurant and there were only a few other diners present. Went to the restroom to wash my hands before ordering. The woman's restroom was as unkempt and filthy as the exterior of the restaurant. Made me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen at that point. Our party of 3 promptly left without ordering. The food may be good, I don't know. I can only say that any food business that doesn't maintain cleanliness, won't be getting my business.

  • Chris B.

You'd never know it from the outside, but this place is delicious. The staff is very friendly and prices fair. Lunch pasta dishes come with bread and a salad- excellent value. My only (small) gripe is that some of the lunch portions are tiny.

  • Jessica D.

I went with my husband, and another couple (who happens to be Greek-American). All of us found the food to be disgusting and bland. Moussaka - unnecessarily huge chunks of vegetables drowning in ambiguously spiced "gravy". Nearly inedible, according to my companions. The bechemel was tasty, though. Spanikopita - spinach to filo ratio was way off, with far too much spinach and not enough dough. There was nearly zero herbs/spices to the spinach filling, and the lack of dill was disappointing. The tzatziki was forgettable and also lacked the trademark dill. "Greek" salad - are you kidding me? First of all, they added lettuce. Second, they put a heaping blob of potato salad in the middle of it. Third, what the hell kind of dressing was that? It was a yogurt base, with citrus overtones and was a sick looking pastel pink. Finally, there was about a handful of deli ham scattered about. The tomatoes were mealy and flavorless. The cucumbers were good, though, as was the additional grilled chicken that was added. The gyro meat was generously plated and sliced into fairly large chunks. It was tasty enough, but again, nothing remarkable. Avgolemono - completely, 100% wrong in every sense of the word. Only about 2 bites of it was managed. New England Clam Chowder - actually pretty decent. Needed bigger hunks of potatoes and clams, though. My husband and I are native Mainers, and have high standards for chowder. Lasagne - pretty standard. Our waitress was super nice, and very friendly. Zero issues there :-) Overall, I would NOT go back.

This was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant. My husband ordered the gyro platter and Greek salad. He took a few bites of salad before he crunched (literally, I heard it) into glass!!! Yes, no joke. He pulled glass bits out of his mouth and we showed the waitress. Suddenly the manager came over, took the glass bits and salad and turned and walked off. She said nothing, then decided to return and apologize and told my husband there is nothing glass in the kitchen ....uh, not quite the response we expected. My husband went to the restroom and pulled another glass chunk out of his gum (luckily only minor bleeding) and when he returned our waitress declared that the salad was on the house per the manager. Laughable! I asked the manager to speak to me and let her now that not only should the salad be free but his meal too since he didn't eat anything after his experience. Definitely a scary incident and very poor handling. My food was sub-par and we both agree we wouldn't return. Overpriced poor food.

Absolutely the best Greek Salad around. I order sometimes on the way home from work and it's enough for dinner then lunch the next day. Dine in its great too. Delicious lemon orzo soup and many Greek specialties. A real family place with warm friendly service. Feels like I'm sitting in grandma's kitchen!

Romano has always been a best kept secret in Brandon, with a huge takeout business, especially from employees of Brandon Hospital. It had to have the takeout business because the restaurant had few tables for seating. Recently, they closed to renovate and expand, and the result is an updated version of our favorite restaurant. The food never disappoints, daily homemade soups and the best Greek salad come together in a place that feels like home and family. Well worth a visit, or two or three. Or stay home, so we can keep it to ourselves. Either way, I win.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
