Great place in Brandon. Everything u can ask for from a bar. From the friendly staff to the great prices, hard to go wrong here. Ask for Betty or Crystal, best bartenders around!

I used to frequent O'Brien's years ago. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere where you could grab some drinks and hanging with friends. My hubbie and I stopped here w/ some friends last night and this place has really gone downhill. Other than having a decent band, there was nothing appealing about this place. The crowd there is pretty sketchy. (You could tell by the approx. 15 security guards that this place probably has trouble regularly.) If you're in Brandon and want a drink, I'd skip this place.

Amy outside during Sunday football pours a horrible mixed drink. Half of what it should be and I am a bar tender. If am lucky I received a 3/4 pour. Don't waste your money here.

The worst service I ever had by far our waitress talked to her friends the whole time! She only came to take our order which took her 10mins plus to even approach us. Then once she took our order which I specifically ask for extra sauce on a cheese pizza it came out with zero sauce. Once she drop off the food I ask for a glass of water 15mins after I had seen her chat with her friend the whole time she comes up to us to tell us the soda machine is being clean mind you it then end of dinner service before 9:00 and I waited 30 mins for her to bringing me not a cup but a pitcher of water which was not needed (she did that so she could talk to her friend instead of checking for refills) after she came with pitcher I asked her for extra sauce and she told me yelled at kitchen for the mistake and borough me a cup of cold sauce. Now we have been sitting for 10mins after we got our to go box waiting for a check. In the the manager gave us 2 free apps our next visit we will never be back

Not a good place to have a cold beer. orders a bud light draft. it was not cold. the bartender said that's the way draft us. I replied maybe here not at other bars there beer is cold. she said she will put ice it the beer. I said no thanks fix your tap system so it the proper temp and I will go to tadpoles wear the beer is cold.

  • Grace G.

Fish and chips were over breaded and over done. Second time I've tried them here to no avail. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the beer is cold. Bartender was overwhelmed but nice. Probably didn't help that the two patrons that were in the inside bar were obnoxious.

A few years ago this used to be my favorite bar. My friends and I would be there often for their $10 all you can drink on Friday Nights and would go there every Halloween and St. Patrick's day to party. It is no longer my favorite place to go, the look has been changed drastically from a few years ago, so I no longer go 2-3 times a month, more like 1-2 times a year. The music played has also changed quite a bit, focused more on bands, I like to dance, so it's not my thing. It's really bright inside which compared to before, is completely different. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the bar that once was. Their menu is pretty good. It has pizza, fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches, ect. Their fries and gravy are delicious, so are their buffalo chips. If you go to the Friday happy hour, just know that it can get pretty crazy...people go crazy with the drinking.

Great pizza and wings! Good happy hour deals. I highly recommend eating your fries with the brown gravy...delish!

Yesterday I, my mom & dad and grandpa went to this this for the first time!!! I had kitty cat tail & pizza bread, my mom had biltmore blueberry vanilla wheat beer and my dad and grandpa had hamburger and some beer.. Very nice and helpful and nice outside!!! We recommend it if you are in Florida to go there.. They sometime have concert there too..

Sat outside and Lauren took care of us. She was 9ne of the friendliest bar tenders we've met in the brandon area. Quick to keep the drinks coming.

This place has gone down hill BIG TIME. If I could give negative stars I would give them all. Most of the staff are miserable haters. The food service is slow and security is OUT OF CONTROL! I have seen them taunt people in the parking lot after they leave multiple times. They picked me up unknowingly and took me out because I wrote "the DJ sucks" on the receipt before I could even sign it. They create most of what happens there. They feed off of it and need a serious reality check. The owner needs to reel them in. I saw one flash his light at a guy that was completely normal. The atmosphere is sooo uncomfortable there. The bands lately have been terrible as well. Now I know why the place has been SO dead. I will not be back. There are plenty of nice places to go in Brandon. STAY AWAY!

O'Brien's in Brandon is a big old college bar without the college. It's where the local glory days crowd meets and greets and drinks and gets jiggly to local bands. If that is your scene ... then more power to you. Otherwise I'd give the place a pass. The food is akin to a chain such as Beef's or TGIFridays ... it's edible but nothing special or worth going out of your way for. Worst of all is the lack of a decent beer menu. The place hi-lites a "Celtic Craft Beer Corner" which is filled with big brewery wannabe's and a couple of local brews that deserve better company.

I have been going here for at least 3 years now and I like it. Its a great neighborhood bar and everyone is friendly. Bartenders are great as is the food. Fridays are AYCD for $10 but they stopped doing it on Saturdays. Still great place to go to after work though! There is people of all ages here so im sure you will not have a problem fitting in. Great pub!

We used to frequent this place often. We were chummy with most of the waitstaff and the food and drinks were pretty good. Not too sure what happened over the past year and a half or so, but the drink prices got ridiculous, most of the good servers got tired of being treated poorly by the owner and the food quality went downhill.

  • Travis S.

O'briens is your normal bar scene for ages 21+. One of the best things about this bar is on Fridays from 7-9 they have all you can drink for $10. Not completely top shelf but things like wine and Sailor Jerry rum are under this special. Some of the best bar food I've had in a while. Only negative is electronic cigarette smokers are not welcome to smoke inside.

Where the cougars be at?!?!? Oh, wait. Found 'em! Thundercats hoooooooooooo!!! I went into O'Brien's on Friday night because I very little else to do. I, being at a rather youthful age if I do say so myself, felt SO OUT OF PLACE. The music for a while was all of the stuff I wouldn't have listened to at any other club fine. But the people dancing where as old as my parents. Not to mention there was some drunk girl that flashed the (live at 1:30 in the morning, also made of dudes that could be my dad) band? The lead singer actually had to stop and ask this girl to clam down. I tried to get outside to escape whatever it was that was going on? Nope. The smoke, the loud music and loud conversation. It was just as bad as the bad dance floor. I didn't pay for my drinks so I don't know about the service or cost. I didn't eat and I think I will live a few years longer for making this choice. Overall I just didn't enjoy myself and have no intention of going back.

Not a bad place to be at for St. Patrick's Day. Huge crowd and lots of music and food all around. It was pretty chaotic, but still something to do close to home in Brandon with some friends. They specials on bombs, and I downed a few Irish Car Bombs for a relatively inexpensive price...ch'yea pretty sweet. I actually ran into Nicole S. on the one night I did visit here. Parking for St. Patrick's Day was horrible by the way, might want to park across the street and brave the streets. The food was actually pretty decent and we had a fun time here. I probably wouldn't visit on any other day, but not a bad choice on a special occasion like that.

This place is cougar city at night. However, some people maybe are into that. Though trivia night is fun, they should spend more energy on fixing their menu. The menu is left to be desired. The food is bland and is nothing like a good Irish meal. Not sure if it still is, but their fish and chips are the best I've had in a long time. Hope they are still are (Haven't been in awhile now).

Met this girl and she wanted to go there. When I first got there everything seemed fine. The bartenders were really friendly and did a great job. Next thing I know, one of the security guys tells me "She is drunk and her brother is coming to get her. I don't know what you thought was going to happen. But it is not." Then, he comes back with another guy and they tell me to leave and I am barred. Kicked out and barred for being there with someone they know. Really!? They would not even let me use the restroom before I left.

I went here because a friend's band was playing. I didn't have any of the food, so I can't comment on that. But, I did have a couple of drinks. I don't normally drink, and these drinks were pretty good. The service was very good, and the place was really clean inside. TVs all around, and worth the live music rocking, it was a great time. Okay, I have a biased opinion of the band. They were good though! I was looking for a good time, late-night at the pub, and O'Brien's delivered. Just what you would expect from an Irish pub on a Friday night. A good time!

  • John D.

Probably will never come here willingly to eat... Walked in with a tank top and it was like their entire security team ran up on me like I committed the most horrible crime and asked me to leave the shi**y bar as if they are too fancy for a tank top. Thanks but no thanks. Wouldn't recommend to any one. You don't treat customers like criminals for nothing. Oh. There were a bunch of women in here while I was there with tank tops on. I guess that discrimination cause I'm a guy.

Don't understand the shitty reviews. Food was good, beer selection was great and price was fair. Had the garlic chicken pizza, and it was on point. 2x stout on tap was cold. Service was good, live band in a Friday night, corn hole outside, free valet parking...what's there to complain about?

I am a wing snob, the carribean jerk wings are top 10 in the Bay Area .excellent service (stephanie) and price point, def coming back

Excellent pub style fish and chips. It comes with coleslaw which is not the highlight, but you can always substitute. More of a bar/pub feel for ambiance, but I like their food.

  • Danesh J.

Karaoke there is pretty fun as a decent crowd turns out. Seems like it has a lot of regulars. Drinks are pretty cheap. Bartenders are nice and give some decent shot recommendations. Guys bathroom is a trough, practical but, privacy is a no go.

  • Mitch M.

To start off their website is terribly outdated with old specials they no longer offer. Extremely slow service due to bartenders goofing around. Witnessed two employees fooling around in front of customers behind the bar. Along with the previous issues employees eating behind the bar was an issue when they didn't wash their hands in between serving drinks. On a positive note drinks were made well and strong as well as offered us a few free samples of new items. Overall not impressed and not likely to return.

The only half way decent thing about this place is the food. The service was slow. New Age music too loud and annoying. It IS NOT an Irish Pub. Cannot even pour a Guinness... Will not be back

I had been to the Tampa location of O'Brien's several time and was excited to try the Brandon spot for a work happy hour. I expected this O'Brien's to be small, based on the location. Boy was I wrong! This place is HUGE on the inside! The food was ok - typical bar food. I enjoy going to Irish and British pubs as my favorite drink to order is a Snakebite. When I asked for this drink, the waitress did not flinch. We had very quick service, which was surprising for such a large group during the week. One thing that I noticed that I really like: they have events here pretty much every night. From live music to trivia to even a church group that drinks beer while talking about the Bible (I'm not kidding), there is something here for everyone.

I come here often for the food. I CRAVE their fish and chips...best I've had anywhere including Ireland. Staff are friendly and efficient. They've got a brand new menu with a pretty decent craft beer selection. Weekend bands are good and the dance floor is hopping. They've changed up a lot of stuff. Solid place for a casual good time.

If I could give them 0 I would, for service and customer service. Waited 45 minutes for food that never came, the manager totally ignored the issue & the waitress brought the bill for our drinks. I have never had such poor service and no attempt by manager to apologize. It was on a week night, hate to see their service on a weekend. Hope you don't come hungry, cause you will leave hungry and dissatisfied.

Why three stars? Food, beer and music We went with friends for free Friday, $10 all you can drink from 7-9 oh but yes there was a catch, no craft beers and no ciders. The beer they offer is a good variety but my friend wanted cider and wasn't then happiest with their policy. The staff was very helpful and extremely nice. We also had some grub. I ate the jerk boneless buffalo wings, very tasty, but they only gave me five tiny pieces of chicken. They had some other pub food was ok, nothing to ride home about. The music was way too loud. The band played a couple sets but even in the back we were struggling to have a conversation. Just wasn't pleasant and our ears were all ringing by the end of the night. All in all it was ok

Kim sucks as a manager. She is condescending and rude all around. Not to mention. On her days off she gets drunk at the bar. Nice place besides the ass hole 'management'

First time here we had a great time, food was great (Wings and Taters Skins) wife was not drinking and I was drinking beers, single tall Captain and Cokes and maybe a shot of Jager or two. Was there with another couple and we got separate checks and our bill was right around $75, not too bad for a night out of dinner and drinks. Fast forward about a year later (about a month ago) and we went with the same couple as we did the first time. This time we had the same as last time but I made the mistake of not telling the waitress to split the checks. Although I specifically ordered single tall drinks, the waitress was charging us for double tall Captain and Cokes. They barely had any rum in them and if they had been doubles, we'd have all been hammered but instead the three of us drinking them weren't even buzzed. When we saw the bill was almost $400, we all damn neart shat right there at the table. No way in heck did we drink $400 worth of alcohol and not have a buzz. Three nights later, 20/20 had a show on where Jon Tapper from Bar Rescue showed how bars scam their customers which I already knew as I tended bar when I was younger. Packing the ice, under pouring, ringing doubles for singles, I am not saying they did it on purpose, but we didn't get what we paid for. I am giving them two stars because I like the food and the music, but we won't be going back after that outrageous bill. That's the main reason I prefer to sit at the bar and watch them pour my drinks instead of ordering from a waitress who is getting her drinks at a "service well" where the bartended doesn't give two sheets what they're pouring. No more OB's for me!!

Obviously one of my favorite places ever. You never know what you are going to get - beer brewing club, pirate krewes, even a church meets here. I feel comfortable bringing my son during the day and letting loose at night. Food is always awesome. They do a lot of charity events here, as the owners are great community partners. All in all, a great Irish pub through and through!

I have now been here twice. The first time I went was during the day just to order food. I was very satisfied with their buffalo chicken wrap! Very delicious! The next time I went happened to be the night of an Ohio State game. If you are not an Ohio fan this was not the place for you that night. It was extremely crowded but the wait staff was still awesome! Our food was great ( we had pizza and wings) and they were always checking in on the tables. I was very impressed with the service.

Drink all you want but don't eat here. Have a fried that used to work there and they drop good on the floor and then serve it. They don't clean the kitchen well either. Ugh.

I was here to celebrate the Irish New Year and had a great time. We were there for the end of happy hour and stayed until after midnight in Ireland (about 7:30 local time!). They had bag pipers and Irish dancers and a champagne toast. It was great! The food was ok. The 'chips' are extraordinarily better than the fries. I had the turkey rueben and was pleased. Everything is on the greasy side though, definitely no good options for 'healthy' eaters and vegetarians won't be too happy either. But, you know... it's pub food. I'd go back for a beer or three.

Hahaha! Cougar City? Sometimes, sure...but this is my favorite neighborhood bar. Great drink specials, friendly bartenders and delicious food. They have sink or swim on Friday's and Saturday's and live music a few days a week, including the weekends. They also just added more Craft Beers, and if you haven't had it...try the Crispin! I recommend this place highly...not just on St. Paddy's Day (though it is a blast).

A very large sports bar with several areas and many TV's. On football Sundays hosts the Buffalo Bills Backers fan club and a Pittsburgh fan club. The wings are excellent but the beef on wick is not up to Buffalo standards. Great place with friendly service.

If you want fish 'n chips, this is the place to go. Get the beer-battered fish and chips (small portion is still huge) - I've tried the regular battered fish which is still good, but the beer battered is so much better. Prices aren't terrible, beer is pretty awesome. I am loving the fact that they have Cigar City's Maduro on tap each time I've been there. The outside bar is fun to sit at, the usual crowd around 5pm-8pm seems to be middle-aged and friendly enough. Haven't been here to party on the weekends since it's just the fish that keeps bringing me back, but with the good selection of beers on tap I would assume some people would come just for that.

Went there today, just to hang out with the O'Brien's Fighting Irish hockey team. I enjoyed the beer, the games and the staff was extremely friendly. I don't think I got to really enjoy the full setting that O'Brien's offers, but am excited to go back again. But based on my 2 hour experience today ... they seem alright.
