I was visiting from out of town and read the reviews on line. I was really looking forward to trying this place. The staff was very friendly and helpful but, I was not impressed with the food. Because this was an "Ale" house, I really wanted to try the fish and chips. I was not that impressed. It was a large portion but, it was still greasy and the batter had very little flavor to it. In fact, it seemed more of a breading than a batter. I did however, really like the fries. I also tried the buffalo shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but, the sauce tasted like what I can buy in a store. On the positive side, the sweet tea was really good. Being a southern boy, that may seem like a small item but, you'd be surprised how hard that is to find. Maybe I just tried the wrong thing but, I doubt I go back.

My sister, nephew, son and I were craving seafood after an afternoon at the Florida Aquarium gave Miller's a shot. In short the service was excellent and price was reasonable. We ordered the Miller's Lobster and Clam Bake. The meals were good and worth the money, but not the best we have had. Miller's is more a sports bar with some good seafood and most people will like it if they keep their expectations to that.

after bombing a test, i came here with some classmates to eat and chill. the place is more of a bar than a place to eat. i didn't like my food (grouper sandwich) and my waitress noticed and waived my bill. i appreciate the customer service a lot. it'd be nice if they had more vegetarian options.

Food was good, server was attentive. It would have been 5 stars except you have to walk through the 10 smokers that are at the front door. If you are seated in the back it's ok , if you are seated in the front the smoke OVERPOWERS the room.

Went in on Monday night and got the rib special which included 1 1/4 lbs of ribs with choice of side and Cole slaw for only $10.99. Ribs fall off the bone, which is the only way that I will eat them. Flavor was OK, I should have gotten a little more BBQ sauce on the side. As an appetizer, I got the chips with guacamole... nothing to write home about. I've have better guacamole out of a packet from Publix in the deli section. It wasn't bad, but I found it to be very bland. Good place to go watch the game.

I love this place! It's wayyy better than all the Al Houses I've been to. Specially the ones in South Florida. I go every single UFC fight.. Yeah when I'm late I have to wait like 30min or so. But when I'm in time I hardly wait for a table or booth... The food is good, nothing super special.. The chips and salsa are amazing, I LOVE THEM. I usually will order wings, and well beer is not super cheap but the pitchers run around 6-8$ or so... It's a good place to chill with friends, for something not too expensive. Enjoy UFC, and sport games. I do recommend it, specially after all the other Ale Houses I've been to, by far this is the best. And the area is really nice. Brandon its beautiful.

I had the ribeye special, ordered it medium, it was well done, dry, tough and flavorless. Hubby wasn't impressed with his dinner. Kids eat free was nice, great sized kid meals. But decent kid meals not worth blah food for us. Wouldn't return. Best part of our visit was the magician that was there, he was entertaining.

If you want drinks and bar food with a calm and cool atmosphere, definitely pay Miller's Ale House a visit. If you want an actual meal or hearty dinner, save time and money and eat elsewhere. Tonight my husband and I returned to Miller's because we saw online they had a 21oz Porterhouse for $18 and some change. We figured we would split it. Our waitress said it's only available by request. After checking with the chef, she told us to our delight that they still had some left if we wanted to order it. So we did. She told us it came with two sides. My husband asked her if he could substitute a side salad as his side. She told us that could be done, no problem. I ordered a baked potato as our second side. Fast forward to our meal... The porterhouse was missing the filet portion completely. They tried to assure us that's the way the cut is suppose to be. (Liars liars pants on fire!) On top of that, it was under seasoned and extremely bland. Even with A1 sauce I couldn't bring myself to continue eating it. I gave up...very disappointed. To make it worse, when the bill came we were up charged on both the steak and the salad. Wish they would've relayed that information to us earlier. I don't think I'll be back to Miller's Ale house anytime soon...Unless it's to get my drink on (which after this horrible experience I'm probably going to have to do anyways!)

I went here expecting a really good meal considering I the rating it has. Instead I received a hot salad, a steak cooked at well done when I requested rare, then when I sent the steak back they gave me one that was barely seared and cold to the touch because the manager was "scared the cooks would over cook it". Why have those cooks if you aren't sure they can do their job?! The green beans were extremely bland and rubbery. The only good thing about this place was the desert! I will not be going back especially since it was 50$ for two people!!

It's a sports bar and it's bar food. I don't eat here often simply because the food is sooo good and sooo not healthy. Yes there are healthier options but it is hard to go healthy with all the other great options. Once a year I MUST get their nachos. They are layered with shredded chicken and cheese and I get the extras on the side (lettuce, tomato, sour cream) but you can get them served on the nachos. I have had several other food items and have no complaints. In the 10 years I have lived in the area I have been here about a dozen time. Service has never been an issue. They are quick to get your drink order and follow up for your food just as quick. If the place is packed the services is slower but still good. Once in awhile I have had a new server and noticed that other staff members where watching and checking on us to be sure we were taken care of. I consider that a good sign. If here to watch the games there are plenty of TV's and every seat has a view of more than a dozen TV's. You can ask to have "your game" put on near you. Once the place is packed they can not accommodate as easily because others are watching. If they are crowded ask before you are seated and they will do their best to get you seated with a good view of your desired game.

Service is awesome. Management very involved with all aspects and the food and choices are incredible. Must go. Clean, spacious and lots of parking.

I came here during on a football Sunday, and was surprised it wasn't more crowded. It's a great place to watch the game and the drink specials are pretty good. We got the pitcher of margarita which was good but a little weak. The food is awesome as well. Will stop back in if I get the courage to face Brandon traffic in the near future.

I have been going to this location since it opened many years ago. In the past few years it has continued to slide in average. I was there on Sunday to watch a Football game that was not on local TV. First the place is clean and certainly has every NFL game that is on. From there it went downhill. The service was slow even though it was not busy with several open tables during the peak of games. I had the special "Lobster and Shrimp Scampi" ok, ok I know what was I thinking. But, It was the house special for the games and I thought they would do a good job. Overcooked mushy lobster pieces in a room temperature dish. I thougth it funny that no one ever asked "How is everything?" Several waiters stopped long enough to take away plates etc, even the lady manager ... but not one including our server, ever inquired about our meal. Maybe they knew and did not "want" to ask! For a game I will stop but not to eat.

There's an ale house in Brandon, where all the other servers go, once their shift is done. Pay Peter and Paul! Servers must be served. But seriously, if you've seen an ale house, you've seen this one. Brandon though, that's an anomaly of the most ordinary order. If you're there, I'll be here, wondering how come? It's inexpensive, utilitarian, and that can attract the most amazing people you've ever met.

First time here and it was a great experience. Our party was a lot to handle and our server was top notch. Food was delicious, great selection of beer, and tvs everywhere for the perfect sport outing. Steak was cooked perfectly and the bone in pork was also very good. Will definitely be coming back.

Server wasn't that bad. I ordered a burger. I always order medium rare as most places usually over cook to medium. My burger came out well done. I didn't even eat it and all management offered was a free desert. Thankfully there is a McDonalds on the way home so I can get some dinner.

The 35 fried shrimp meal is extremely filling and delicious. The shrimp are jumbo , breaded and fried to perfection-just rite...not to hard. For shrimp lovers I would recommend this dish... Enjoy!!

Millers Ale House is a great chain but this location really could use some help from more successful locations. The food here hardly tastes like it does anywhere else, my last few plates have been awful. I didn't want to give up hope because I love MAH. But after an almost insulting (unprovoked) conversation in Brandon with one of the wait staff about their opinion on the military (as he spoke to an active service member at our table) I haven't felt like returning.

Good beer selection. Food is average bar fair. A lot of room, a lot of tv's. I would recommend for sure.

I have eaten at the Ale house for over 10 yrs off and on. The service was hit and miss and the food was ok. The past yr the food quality has declined. You use to get a pickle spear, lettuce and slice of tomato with your sandwich, now you get no lettuce and tomato and a paper thin slice of cucumber passed off as a pickle. The fries and onion rings are different and not for the better. Since a greedy corp has taken over, they no longer care about food quality just the bottom line. Comments on their FB pages are not replied to frequently or are removed if they don't like your comment.

Okay. I've been here many times before, but we stopped coming. Shortly after we started eating, I remembered why we stopped coming here. We ordered the calamari as out appetizer. It tasted old, and like a freezer. Way too heavy breading, to mask the odd taste. The sauce served with it was good though, had some kick. We couldn't decide between the fish sandwich (mahi mahi) and the bistro burger, so we ordered them both and split it. The mahi mahi was completely tasteless, and extremely greasy. It kinda tasted like fair food. Not to mention it was WAY oversized for the bun. The bistro burger was good, cooked well, but nothing special. Even the pickle that came with the fish sandwich tastes weird, like it had sat around eating to be served on a fridge. The fries were okay, kinda soggy. Sweet potato fries, soggy, tasteless. Nothing special at all what so ever. We left quickly after that, and may not be returning.

Not impressed!! Have been here a few times before but never reviewed. We came here again because it was Christmas evening & not much else was open. The service was good & the location is nice. However, the food was not good. My husband had the seafood macaroni & cheese, which did have quite a bit of seafood but was extremely salty!! I was in the mood for fried seafood so I ordered the variety fried seafood plate. The clams were the only decent thing on the plate besides the baked potato. The shrimp, scallops, & fish where very greasy & tasted like the oil they were cooked in was either old or burned. Also, the beer is pricey. $5.95 for a "pint" (looked small for a pint) of Blue Moon. There are too many other choices in the Brandon area!!

Come here sometimes with girlfriends after a late night at work. They used to have way more deals and specials which is what brought us in and kept us going ( ie $5 pitchers & $5 apps.) Those are a thing of the past. Now a pitcher is double. And while yes it is definitely a sports bar atmosphere, they do cater to the little ones. Just don't go during a UFC fight or other major sporting event. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating. Although I wish the manager would come around and make his presence known so we could give credit where it's due (This last time our server Brent was awesome. He was always there when we needed something but never in a pesky sort of way. Funny and very helpful) The high tops are a bit uncomfortable and they now have tables covering the pool table (why, I don't know..) so pool is out of the question. They are known for their zingers. And amazing they are! Huge pieces of chicken, just the right amount of breading and a perfect amount of sauce (medium garlic!). So good! Not exactly the place to get calamari, onion rings are just okay, grilled shrimp is good, Mountain melt is always a good choice, and always try the Captain Jack dessert. Amazing! Definitely a large menu with decent prices. Nothing to write home about but for $5 zingers, we'll keep going.

Seth (the waiter) was rude and made the dinner all about himself. Seth has no awareness of the safety with our two small toddlers sitting at the table by keep holding his tray right on top of their head. I have no faith in the management if they keep Seth on the staff. Seth made inappropriate remarks about why we didn't choose to get blackout drunk at the "ale house". If it was a required to purchase alcoholic beverages at this place without getting harassed about it , we wouldn't have ate our dinner here. It was a horrible experience overall.

I'm surprised by the low reviews for the ale house! I've had their special lobster dinner here twice and it has been excellent both times. The price ranges from $9.95-$14.95 for a whole Maine lobster with one side with a drink purchase. Tonight it was $12.95. Such a good price. Their draft selection is large but they only carry a few specialty beers. Mostly cheap domestics. I was happy to see the Rogue Dead Guy. $5 for a pint. Service was very friendly. We also had the calamari for an appetizer and it was excellent. It came with a spicy chili sauce which was delicious. I'll definitely be back when visiting FL in the future!

regular sports bar, ambience is nice with like 50 tvs all over the place. no need to turn your head to look for a good view if your watching your fave game. the beer selection is decent. we also ordered pizza and the crust was pretty burnt. the manager personally delivered the pizza asking if it was okay. we said its fine. and minutes later they gave us a big slice of oreo icecream. they say its for first timers! but we think its bec of the overcooked pizza. but all in all it was great dining experience.

I love how they do Sunday Football! Each of the 30 some televisions have little tags of which teams will be showing on that t.v. So there is no confusion when the games start. Get a seat in front of the tv with your favorite team! The food was just ok but they had good beer specials. They have accessible parking, bathrooms but no lower tables, only booths. So if you can't get out of your wheelchair, you would need to transfer in to the booth. The manager and wait staff are really nice and I would definitely go back.

This Applebee's/Texas Roadhouse/Joe's Crabshack-esk establishment doesn't impress. WIFI, forget about it, 375kbps down and 500kbps up makes this only 20% as fast as my 3G signal on my phone. Raw oysters is the feature but I didn't hold my breath. In any case this won't be on my must return list. Update: Their customer service is pretty great and they seem to have the attitude to do what is right by their customers. I don't live around Tampa so I would be able to return but I've revised my rating to more accurately reflect my longterm perception of my dining experience.

We visited last Saturday night during a college football game. I pictured a sports bar theme but it's not what I expected. There were plenty of tvs, but the theme was more of a seafood restaurant. They had traditional bar food and a full bar with plenty of beers on tap. We started with the spinach dip. It was good, but nothing special. I ordered the bistro steak salad. It was awful. I thought it would be strips of steak, but it was very very thinly sliced steak and drenched in a sauce that tasted like A-1. My mom ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and fries. It was good. My husband ordered the flank steak with boom boom shrimp. He said the shrimp was good but the steak was not. We didn't expect to have great steak at a place like that, but thought it would it at least be palatable. We will probably go back only to watch a sporting event and order appetizers and drink beer.

On my one visit to the Ale House I was treated with average hot wings, and a steak it appeared as though the meat came from one of the grey men from Stephen King's Tommyknockers....with grill marks painted on it for good measure. Not even a deluge of A1 sauce could save this alien substance. They had a great beer list though, I think 20+ brews on tap. Decent tv's, I would just stick to the sammies and apps methinks.

    (2)
  • Mattias L.

Meh. The wings we had as an appetizer were ok, service was pretty decent. Three of us had New York Strip steaks, and I would equate them to steaks that you get at Village Inn.

    (2)
  • Joel B.

Although the drink prices were pretty cheap, they were very weak. I had a double rum and coke and honestly at one point I thought I was drinking water down coke. The food was meh. It was my first time and I think I might give it another try.

  • Lora W.

The fish tacos here are excellent!! We also had spinach cheese dip which was good too. They have lots of tvs so it's a good place to watch any game. My only complaint is that it takes a long time to get the food you ordered. Don't eat here if you're in a hurry.

    (3)
  • Thema D.

The only good thing about this place is their drink prices are cheap, and as some other reviews have said, they are priced accordingly. The food seems to be an afterthought here. The server was nice and timely.

    (2)
  • Meg B.

This place is reasonable. My husband and I have been a few times. Their redeeming factor of late is they have weekly specials out the wazoo. Prime rib for like $11 on either Friday or Monday, I can't recall which and maine lobster dinners on either Tuesday or Wednesday for $15. It's more of a sports bar atmosphere with a lot of regular booths & tables. I wouldn't call it date night central. The first time we ever went I had a steak and it was pretty good. When the lobster special came up we went for that and it was good but we like making our own better because the restaurant takes all the good stuff out of the lobster like the tamale (the green stuff in the carapace) and the lobster roe if you had a female. So you're only going to get the tail, claw and leg meat basically. If that's what you like then go for it! The servers are nice and the prices are good. I do agree with the others that certain aspects of the food are not consistent though.
