To be honest, I had low expectations before arriving. This place has... a less than inviting location. However, upon entering the staff immediately greeted us, smiling and kind, asked our names, then casually informed us "first-timers" about the various deals they offer. Good prices too. They took our order, then asked us to take a seat, they'll serve us our food. While they prepared our meal, I took in the decor. From the comical vintage signs, to the camo toilet seats over the trash bins, to the "preciate it" sign over the exit, the theme was complete. Food came quickly, and I noticed their 7 different types of bbq sauce. Each with personal, unique names. Afterward, the waitress even bussed our food for us. I wasn't expecting such a warm little bbq joint, and for that I give them a 4 out of 5. Keep it up, Bubbaque.

Good evening Yelpers. Why am I giving a three. Let's start with the customer service. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the staff. Nice the you are recognized when you walk in. This is a very small place so if you have a large party be prepared to be cramped. It's small but clean. Now the food. The ribs were well seasoned but tuff . There was a lot of fat on the ribs as well. The baked beans were really good. They had chunks of meat on them. Very tasty. The macaroni and cheese was very bland and mushy. The sweet tea was not sweet at all and it was hot even when you put ice in it. The food portions were very large. Now for the sanitation. People would lick their fingers and then touch the paper towels and the barbecue sauce bottle. No bueno. :-(. They should probably consider putting napkin dispensers on the table so that people are not putting barbecue sauce on the paper towels. Overall I was not very impressed. I don't think I will be back.

After watching BBQ Pitmasters we were craving some ribs and pulled pork so after a quick search we zipped on over. Got the ribs and pulled pork and both were good but as fast as they were brought to the table they sure weren't whipped up fresh. Only a few other patrons early on this sweltering Sunday and wasn't expecting a two minute wait, would of waited for fresh. All in all the ribs were good and the pulled pork hit the spot. Being from NC having some proper sauce was nice, and Cheerwine was unexpected and tea was good. Would of been nicer to have some sauce with some true heat, but still good sauce selection (Tractor Grease... love the name!). The beans and mac 'n cheese were good and although it wasn't Tuffy back there cooking, it hit the spot.

Good thing the portions are small, some of the toughest pulled pork and chicken I ever tried to eat. Better BBQ places to eat in Brandon, save your money an eat elsewhere. I should have got a clue when the place was empty on a Saturday night.

This place is a mixed bag. The meat is actually pretty well done, and one of the few places that does a decent rib (I'm not a fan of dry ones). The brisket and pulled pork is also done well, but not amazing. But the sides... holy crap they are atrocious. It's almost like they are thrown on as an afterthought, like when they were creating the menu, they thought that half decent meat and an over the top kitschy backwoods vibe was enough. I can only sum it up as, on the meat side, it's a lot better than Sonny's but inferior to First Choice, Jaymer, etc. But the side dishes suck, and in particular the mac n cheese tastes like they found a Sysco food service truck that had rolled over 6 days ago on the way to Golden Corral and decided to 'make do'

Great food. Good service.great BBQ sauces flavor for anyone. Ribs were excellent as well as chicken. BBQ pork very tender nicely done. If your looking for good BBQ definitely give them a try. Sweet potato fries excellent.

When first opened this place was really good. But quality of the food has been steadily dropping for the last several months. The last time I went the food had apparently been reheated several times, the meat was completely dried out and burned, the french fries, sweet potato fries, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese were cooked to death. Every thing was over done, except for the garlic bread, which had been lightly toasted only on one side and had nothing in the way of butter or garlic on it. The barbq sauces which were originally very good as they have several different types have now all become watered down in a poor attempt to save money. I tried 3 different bottles from different tables and straight water came out, they didn't even try to mix it together. Lastly the dessert came and it was straight from Sam's club freezer. They served an apple turnover that was microwaved and the banana pudding was out of a box and not even Jello brand it was some off brand that was not even attempted to be doctored up with real bananas or vanilla wafers. What is happening here is very sad. This was a great place and they are killing themselves slowly with all the corners they are cutting.

Finally good BBQ in Brandon! Service is mediocre but the prices are excellent..

Wouldn't return personally. We found the service rude, granted we walked in 25 mins before close but it's a hybrid between a sit down and fast food so we were done quick. The food was ok about average nothing that stood out. Fries were old and over cooked but my pulled pork was good. I just wouldn't go back.

When fresh the ribs are excellent and done the right way. The meat easily pulls off the bone, is tender, and flavorful - nothing hidden by sauce here. I'm speaking specifically for the St. Louis style Ribs. The okra is also done right with a thin batter that isn't excessively greasy and the okra isn't soggy. I can see this place expanding soon. You place your order at the counter and then go sit down where they bring it to you. The decor plays on stereotype and is a bit silly. I suspect franchise, but ultimately the food is what separates this place from the others. There is a variety of sauces at the table that are quite good. The food and service are fast.

From the outside, this place looks promising. Inside, it's clean, large, and welcoming. I tried the pork sandwich which came with a side; I chose mac and cheese. The bread was cold and would have been much better warmed. The meat was just ok, have tasted much better. The mac and cheese isn't what I expected from a BBQ joint. It was more like Kraft. The sweet tea was good as was the service. Not sure if I'll return, as there are a couple other options in the area.

Ate there last night. Ribs were awesome. Pulled pork was great. Sauces were very tasty. See below where a few people had bad food but we have been here three times now and it has been great every visit.

I am a bit of a BBQ snob...as is most everybody who likes 'cue. Bubbaque's is a chain but has some really good pulled pork. Great smoke flavor with a fantastic dry rub creating a very nice bark. Very tender without being mushy. The portions are generous and the collards are the best side. The slaw is ok. Last night I had the ribs. Again, great smoke flavor and dry rub. They were meaty, but on the dry side. I could tell that if I had gotten them when they first came off the smoker, they would have been perfect, with the meat pulling cleanly off the bone, leaving bite marks. Unfortunately, since this is a chain, the ribs have the texture of having sat in a steamer/warmer for too long. Again, very tasty...but dry. I will stick with the pulled pork....consistently good!

It's difficult enough to get BBQ right with enough consistency to open one restaurant. To open two is audacious and risky. To franchise is to abandon any hope of quality. We went to "Bubbaque's" in Brandon because one of our guests was red-meat averse, and the menu at the first choice (accidentally called First Choice Southern BBQ) was perceived too vegetarian/pescatarian hostile. Big mistake. Too bad we'd already had pizza and Mexican already this week. The meat probably was smoked. Somewhere. Not here. Not recently. These chewy precooked ribs had been reheated so fast as to defeat the purpose of the smoking. The pulled pork was shredded, but not at all unctuous--which is why we slow-cook pork shoulder: to melt the fat and collagen. The sliced turkey looked like lunch meat. 'Nuff said, there. All the fried goods, including fried green tomatoes, chicken tenders, and sweet potato fries, were wretched. The side orders included over-steamed green beans, old (probably frozen) corn on the cob (I know, any but fresh should be avoided), and sugary cole slaw. The macaroni and cheese looked OK, but it probably entered the building in a plastic bag. The only thing to be said in this particular Bubbaque's unit's favor is one staff member ("Brit") who did her best to make our visit pleasant. The cashier/hostess ("Haley") spent most of the time she stayed on or answering her mobile phone (before she fled). Who knows what the cook was thinking. One shudders to think what he did was deliberate. The ambiance was wink-wink redneck, with everything but a rebel flag. And they did have two televisions, which automatically cost them a star they could't afford to lose. If I could take away the one star, I would.

Great food with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Our family's favorite is the pulled pork and we enjoy sampling the wide variety of sauces. Favorite side is fries. Funnel cake fries are delightful. My son loves the banana pudding. Quick service, yummy food, reasonable cost...great for families!

We had been looking for a place to eat, and while my friend was suggesting chains, I wanted something different. I saw that Bubbaque's had quite a few cars outside, so I suggested it. I'm glad I did. Inside, the place is full of kitsch decor, very 'down home', Redneck, and hill billy. It was cute. I opted for a Combo platter of 2 items with 2 sides or a Side and a sweet ending, (which is what I got) I got pulled pork and fried shrimp with steamed broccoli and banana pudding. My friend got the Sunday Special, a half rack of ribs, with fries and a drink. The girl who took our order was also our wait person, she brought us our drinks (Unsweet tea and ice water) and our meals followed shortly after. My meal was delicious. 8 large fried shrimp, a generous portion of pulled pork and some tasty steamed broccoli. My friend's ribs were a bit dry and tough, but his fries were good, as was the home made ranch dressing he opted for. The banana pudding though? OUT OF THIS WORLD! The service was good too. Very efficient and very friendly. I'd certainly come back any time I'm in Brandon.

This place is quick and delicious. Nice, courteous staff, and great food means I'm not going anywhere else. Barnyard basket is great, but great sausage and St. Louis ribs for sure. As soon as you walk in you're greeted, and honestly the prices are cheaper than the area's competition by a dollar or two on some items with absolutely no compromise in taste. And it's clean! Great job to the people running it and the staff doing the work.

Pretty clean place, the service was quick and the staff was nice. The food was actually really good and the sweet tea was perfect. This restaurant has you order and pay at the counter, fill your own drinks, and bus your own table. That being said, the portion sizes are too small in general and the prices are too high for what you get. We ordered the green beans appetizer (pretty good, and a little spicy - but there was a small quantity of them), a pulled pork plate and a brisket plate, and one drink. The meat portions are about what you would put on a small-ish sandwich and the side dishes come out in little cups that I would estimate hold less than 4oz. The cost was almost $40 before tipping. I would expect that price tag with more of a "sit down" restaurant - not so much with a casual place like this. We won't be going back unless we have some serious coupons.

Not a fan. The ribs we had were so salty I could hardly eat them. They also needed to be rendered longer. The chicken was very dry. We bought a dinner for 4 that was around $54 and we liked the Brisket and the baked beans were pretty good but for $54 I was disappointed. If you want GOOD bar B Que you do not get it from CHAIN restaurant franchises. It ranks with Sonny's in my mind.

Tried this place out today and I'm glad I did. Food was great. I tried the half chicken meal which came with two sides and a drink. Chicken was juice and perfectly cooked and fries and fried okra were delicious. The sweet tea was some of the best I've had.

My husband was really excited to try this place because of the good reviews. I guess they gave us high expectations. We both got the Texas brisket sandwich. The meat was pretty tender, but there wasn't much meat on the sandwich. It was mostly bread. Also, the majority of the brisket was pure gross fat. The toast was burnt for both of us. My mac & cheese seemed like it came from a frozen dinner. It had no taste at all & was very soupy. The best thing about our food was the sauce. We enjoyed trying the different kinds. Not sure if it's worth the long wait & high price to go back though.

Finally was able to try Bubba for lunch........and dinner. I ordered a two item plate, basic cost, $13.99. A little steep but BBQ has been getting more expensive as meat costs more. My two items, beef brisket and baby back ribs, two sides, fries and Mac n cheese and a small fountain drink. $23.00. I said the sign says 13.99. Yes it does, ribs are an up charge. I should have walked or just ordered something else but honestly, it took me by surprise. When my plate arrived I got a half rack ribs, about a half pound of brisket, a heap of fries and the Mac. I knew right away this was more than I can eat. The best first. This is probably the best brisket I've ever had. Butter tender, melt in your mouth with great flavor enhanced by a choice of Bubba sauces. I liked the Alabama Slama best as it had some heat to it. The ribs were bone tender. Not quite as good as the brisket. The fries were some crazy mini crinkle cuts. I'm older than dirt and I've never seen fries like this, ever. Don't care if I ever do again. They were hot but meh. The Mac n cheese was forgettable. And you get a Texas toast. I only ate two ribs so I'm having them for dinner too. Bubba's is just not that good to justify this kind of price.....its crazy. I don't know if any BBQ is good enough to justify this price. I know the other yelpers said prices were reasonable but??????

The only good thing about this BBQ house is the decorations. Ribs were very tough and the pulled pork was very dry. Gave them a second chance. Chicken was extremely dry! There are many good BBQ places around you should try.

The pulled pork salad is great. Their best treat is the chicken wings. Smoked and then fried. Naked is the best way so's you can taste the smoke. Service is wonderful.

I decided to use Babbaques for a block party I had at my house w/ about 40 people- completely based on reviews I read. I have never eaten here before. I can tell you every single person told me it's the best BBQ they've ever had and I agree. Wow- everything was amazing. I had everything delivered and it wasn't just a drop of and go- the guys set everything up beautifully and didn't let me lift a finger. They were very courteous and respectful. I very highly recommend this place and will definitely be my new favorite BBQ place.

Nothing bad to say. Food is great. Gotta love it and you will also. Redneck fries is a gotta have. Brisket is tasty. Staff friendly and willing to help with choices.

I've mentioned before that I hail from the land of BBQ (Memphis) so when it comes to pleasing my pig palette I tend to be very critical. For the price, Bubbaques is a deal. They always have a special and two for Tuesday is a nice dinner incentive. I ordered the Redneck Nachos, which weren't nachos at all, but rather fries smothered in cheese, bbq brisket, & their home sauce 'tractor grease'. My favorite thing abt Bubbaques in the sauces! No less than 9 to choose from on the table ranging from sweet to tangy to spicy and smoky- experiment away to your tastebud's desire! Tractor grease was actually my pick. The boyfriend ordered a pork sandwich that was good, pork was tender, not too fatty. Will definitely visit again since it's so close to my house.

My fiance and I decided to try this place out tonight. I was impressed with how many options they had to choose from. We ordered our food, took a booth and were served our drinks very quickly. We waited maybe 15 minutes for our food. Everything looked delicious! The sweet tea was amazing and perfectly sweetened. The food was hot and fresh. I got the pulled pork, mac n cheese and sweet tater fries. The sweet tater fries tasted like they had just been cooked and were crispy and to die for! The pulled pork was good enough to have plain without having to add any bbq sauce. The mac n cheese was good - I have had better and have had worse. The slice of bread that came with my meal was toasted with butter and I was very pleased with it. My fiance got the beef brisket and mac n cheese too and he was very satisfied. We will be returning for more!

Excellent service. I love all the different kinds of sauces. I was born and raised in the south and this is some of the best pulled pork I've ever had. Prices are incredibly inexpensive. The portions are perfect.

Ok. So I went again. Yuck. Had the St. Louis ribs that were very good the week before. This time they were dry and chewy. Like they'd been sitting around for a day or so and were nuked before they were tossed on the plate. Sent them back. If you're a BBQ snob (and I'm not, really), you're not going to like this place.

Whenever I eat here I always get a kick out of the menu. Humorous menu's are hard to come by these days! While a little on the pricier side of barbecue, the prices are still pretty reasonable. Meat is tender and very flavorful, but I don't really notice due to the amazing sauces this place has! My family always has to pick up a couple Mason jars (pints) of the Ole Yeller and Tractor Grease barbecue sauce every time we order out. Those two are must-try's, I like them so much I haven't even sampled the other ones yet. Staff is decent, no complaints, but nothing outstanding either. Take out or eat-in is available, much cleaner inside than you normally expect a barbecue joint to be (just sayin).

Pulled pork was solid, but sides were weak. About as good as BBQ gets in this part of the world though.
