Had a wonderful experience here! Zack was our server gave us excellent customer service.... Would recommend asking for him every day!! My daughter had the small cheese pizza with meat balls. She loved it ate every bite. I had the Paul and Young Ron pizza with Arugula on top. It was outstanding! Also we had an order of 10 grilled wings, they were excellent. Not breaded or fried topped with caramelized onion ..... Drool worthy. To top things off Marcus the manager was so kind, had a wonderful conversation with him. Really a very hospital Manager. He sent us a piece of Cheesecake on the house. It was so damn good! Great ambiance, quick service, excellent management, would highly recommend this place! Love Anthony's coal fired Pizza UPDATE: Had such a great experience the first time, had to go back for a second lunch. We sat at the bar with Megan. She is Zack's big sister. She was extremely tentative to our every request. I also wanted to note that she was watching the door like a hawk for new customers ensuring that everyone had an excellent experience and were seated immediately. Had the same Paul and Young Ron pizza with Arugula. It was OUTSTANDING... I can honestly say this little pizza cafe has outdone themselves again!! We sat at the bar and had such a cute little late lunch. My BF and I watched a round of golf while chowing down on the best pizza and wings. Drool worthy! Can't wait to come back!! DELISH

Best pizza .... Excellent crust and great flavor. We had lunch with some friends from out of town and all 6 people were very happy with the food. We ordered personal pan pizzas, two large pizzas and wings. All were excellent. Happy customers

These guys would get 4 stars, except they ruined my favorite pizza. I've always ordered the prosciutto pizza here, and in the past it was amazing. Before they would place little strips of prosciutto here and there, and they would crisp up in the coal oven. Now they place an entire, doubled-over slice of prosciutto on every slice of pizza. The result is not good, the entire surface of the pizza is buried under chewy, fatty slices of prosciutto - not tasty. It's too bad, I do love the crust you get from the coal oven, and their meatballs are pretty good too. Oh, and about the price... These guys aren't cheap. Delivery of a small pizza with a side of 2 meatballs will run you about $30. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back.

Good food and good service! The atmosphere is classy yet casual. They have about 12 items on tap, including local brew like Cigar City Maduro and Jai-Alai. I'm not big on IPA's, Jai-Alai (pronounced hi-lie) is good in my books. They also have a nice selection of wine on their wine list. A bottle of St. Cristina Chianti is about $28. Meatball Appetizer $6 - These meatballs were delicious and incredibly tender. They just melt in your mouth. I must get these every time I come here. Large pizza with 3 toppings $23 - Pizza was very good and tasted fresh. We asked for a side of cauliflower (extra $8) so I can add it to the pizza after and it turned out really well.

What a gem and such delicious food! Thanks to my cousin I got to experience a dinner at this amazing place .. simply wow! Our seating wasn't all that great at the back door which was constantly opened but there wasn't any other place available and we were hungry. Our entre consisted of tomatoes with mozzarella which we shared. Our drinks came in a bottle and were served with a glass and/or a straw .. nice and cold and very good. Our main menu consisted of pizza for the kids, a calzone, a salad (which is what I had and it was delicious) and a plate to share of chickenwings with caramelized onions on a bed of italian focaccia bread .. all of it was hot, fresh and absolutely delicous. It actually was so much that we had to take some of it home with us. The waitress was very friendly, always kept her eye on us in case we needed anything and did a great job. My suggestion: Go there and enjoy their delicious food. Though definitely not cheap it's worth its money and you'll go home stuffed and happy ;-)

This may be a pizza place,,,but... GET THE WINGS!! Cooked in a coal fired oven with a hint of a yummy marinade, smothered in caramelized onions and two slices of focaccia... HEAVEN ! My favorite item here, hands down! I got the "Marguerita' (though called something else here, that I can't remember) pizza. Be forewarned, the crust here is very thin but it is well cooked so is not soaky or limpy at all. (Does that make sense?) The flavor was wonderful, I especially like the coal fired crispness to the crust and the flavor that over added. Topped off with an ice cold draft Sam Adams....YUM !!!!!!! They also have many craft beers for you to try! A bit pricey for a pizza place but definitely worth a try, Not the pizza down the street for sure. Atmosphere is great as is the service.

We decided to eat here as our last dinner before our vacation was over, and I was seriously glad we did! After other Yelp reviewers, we decided to order the wings which were really good, not your typical wing as they are also coal fired which left a bit of tasty char to them...yum-o! We split a large pizza that we ordered as a half and half (at the suggestion of our amazing waiter) Paul and young Ron and classic Motz, tomato and basil and I had their white Belgian shock top. We rounded the meal off with a slice of cheesecake (free bc it was our first visit) which I don't even like but theirs was fine just right! Great ambiance, high quality pizza and wonderful service.

GET THE WINGS. That's about all you need to know! Ok yeah they sell pizza too, and I'll get to that. But do yourself a favor when you enter this cute and cozy, though bustling, establishment: order the wings before you do anything else Available in 10-piece or 20-piece, the wings are truly glorious: marinated in a simple but powerful herby bath then blasted in the coal fired oven. Wings are piled in a dish, topped with a mountain of caramelized onions, flanked with a couple pieces of herb foccacia. I topped the bread with onions as an in-between, but the wings are the star as they should be Not battered, just crispy skin holding in amazingly juicy and flavorful chicken. If you think you aren't a wings person, try these - if these can't sway you, nothing can! We also shared a large pizza, half Meatball & Ricotta and half Philly Cheesesteak. Large pizzas are generously sliced, with your first piece dished up by the very friendly and handsome server guys. The Meatball was the winner for me - small meatballs and puffs of herby ricotta made for a texture adventure, with a nice char flavor from the coal fire treatment. My only gripe would be that the meatballs were small and presumably double-cooked once topped on the pizza, so they were a little on the dry side. The Philly wasn't my thing - the meat had a strange flavor to it, marinated in flavors that didn't sing on a pizza. Fine, but not a repeater. Another highlight for me was that they had Angry Orchard on tap - I thought that stuff was good out of the bottle, try a freshly tapped glass! Oy! 3 stars for pizza, 4 stars for epic wings, friendly service and a cool 1950s speakeasy vibe. Indoor seating was full but not cramped, and outdoor diners were warmed by open flame heaters on a cool night. Flap your wings to Anthony's!

Best spin on a pizza - roasted cauliflower pizza. Delicious hot and cold the next day too.

Yummy! Delicious pizza--the crust was great--loved it! My husband had the meatballs and said they were delicious! Great place. We'll be back for sure.

Great pizza. Not many choices but just enough. My favorite is the steak and onions pizza. So delicious. Wish they had more options for appetizers.

AMAZING! Meatballs, salad, wings, pizza and service cannot get any better than this. I WISH we had an Anthony's near me. This is a must when visiting my family in Florida. We love sitting outside on the patio in the fresh warm air. When you arrive you have to order the wings before even opening the menu. I have a copy cat recipe that we make at home at least once a month they are so delicious. If you are up for another appetizer get the meatballs (comes with ricotta cheese!). We have not had a pizza we didn't like! And the best part is the leftovers are just as good.

We ate here a while ago, because all I have heard is about all good coal fire pizza is. The management and staff went above and beyond that we're great. We tried some chicken wings. To start off with, but they tasted like they had been reheated :( you know what heated up chicken tastes like... Otherwise, the pizza was good. Not sure if I would return, it was good. Pricing was little to much for us.

First class! I wish I remembered our servers name but she was outstanding. We ordered 10 wings and they were deliciously amazing. And our pizza... Let me tell you I've eaten a Lot of Pizza... I mean... A Lot... From Philadelphia to NYC... This pizza was Frickin off the chart. My wife who isn't much of a pizza lover Loved this pizza. It has a great crunch and perfect sauce. We got sausage, sweet peppers and onions. My God was it good. This will be our go to pizza place. Just outrages. We might have to go back and try something non pizza related. Oh... And they have hard cider on Tap! I'm Loving that!!! It's 100 times better than the bottle. But the best part that set them above and beyond any other restaurant I've been too was when they came out with a slice of cheesecake because it was our first time there. Very classy and a good move to get our business. Go. You will not be disappointed.

Holy moly. Went here for a work event and almost had to be rolled out. Food was streaming to the table faster than I could eat. Wings: phenomenal. Meatballs: pretty traditional - I think even hubby would approve. Focaccia bread, salad, eggplant... Yum! We also had a philly cheese pizza. The meat on it was great and the crust was perfect. Limited wine list, but a few yummy craft beers on draft. We will be back!

Um...WOW. Came in for a work dinner and was thoroughly impressed. We did the Italian Tailgate menu, which was a ridiculous amount of food but SOOOO good. It included the following: Salad - really good Italian dinner salad. Meatballs - with ricotta on the side. OMG. Yum! Chicken wings - covered in onions. Really fresh and tasty grilled wings. Pork spare ribs - I started to hit a wall and didn't have any. Pizza - although I was stuffed, I went for it and really enjoyed it. I was really taken aback by how much food we got for the money and by the sheer quality. I washed all this food down with their sangria, which was just about perfect. I would definitely recommend Anthony's to anyone ballin' on a budget and looking for A LOT of quality food at an affordable price!

Awesome pizzas and great wings...this is a great place to go, however it is loud and doesn't have a lot of seating. Keep an open mind though, it is worth it. I had a family member come up from Miami and even though they have some of the finest food available all the time, all Uncle Raphael wanted was Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza!

I'm have been craving some good eggplant (but not wanting to prepare it) So I chose 'Anthony's' for my birthday dinner this year because I remembered trying their eggplant at a community event once & loving it. I was not disappointed my family ordered everything from tuna & calzones to pizza & wings & I got to have my craving fulfilled the eggplant was perfectly delicious & what I was looking for. My grandson didn't like the pepperoni (I know right? I think it was just the spiciness of it) so the server brought him out a little half size pie with prosciutto & mushrooms (because that's what he asked for) & he loved it too! We will definitely go back here again!

There are very few pizza joints my wife will return to. Usually we get pizza when she's in a tolerant mood or she owes me a favor. Based on our experience at Anthony's, I don't think it will be difficult to get her to come back. We got a few chicken wings each for free because it was our first time there. Lucky for her, I'm vegetarian. Lucky for me, she doesn't like onions. So I ate the grilled onions that came with the wings, and she took care of the rest. Jack Sprat, y'all. We ordered a roasted-cauliflower pizza that I can still remember tasting, weeks later. The smoky and crackling crust, the perfectly cooked cauliflower, the heavenly oil and spices... it's a wonder she even let me have any of the leftovers. Well, there's a solution to that -- we'll just have to go back.

I've been to the location in Tampa a couple of times, but I recently experienced this location for the first time. Some colleagues had arranged a large group dinner here for a work function and the staff was very accommodating. There was a bit of a set menu, but all of the offerings were exceptional and the set price they charged per person could not have been beaten. We were able to sample a salad, meatballs, chicken wings, spare ribs, and pizza for our group. By far the pizza and wings were amazing. The pizza featured a coal fired crust which wasn't too thick and just the right balance of dough to cheese to topping. The wings were exceptional and cooked and seasoned so well. The good news was that they are not only group friendly, but will honor their fixed prices for takeout or catering events as well!

I know this place is known for the pizzas but looking for a quick take out I decided on the chicken wings. The small portion is bit enough for left overs and the caramelized onions is a different touch. I added the lunch salad and it's definitely larger than a side salad. They have a take out entrance to the side of the building which makes it convinient. I didn't have to wait long but I would suggest calling ahead.

AMAZING FOOD!! Service was great. Manager was polite and addressed/thanked our table. He went as far as to give us a piece of their wonderful cheesecake for being first time visitors. Would have came back just for food alone, he sealed the deal!

We were in town for the Jimmy Buffett concert and searched Yelp for a local place near our hotel. Did we get lucky! We tried the wings, meatballs, and pizza. Everything was delicious. Definitely try the wings. They're fantastic! The restaurant also had multiple varieties of draft brews. We had the ale and porter which paired well with our appetizers and entree. Highly recommend this restaurant. The food and service are well deserving of my five star rating.

This was our first time here. The atmosphere is casual with sports TV's on every wall. The restaurant and bathrooms were both clean and our waitress was very nice. I do believe it was the manager who visited every table making sure everything was good. The associates were cleaning off tables right away when customers left, sweeping the floors and cleaning the windows during our visit. Our waitress explained that everything is fresh and they don't even have a freezer. My husband and I shared a large sausage, mushroom, pepperoni pizza and some wings. I loved the wings so much that by the time the pizza came out I could only eat one slice. Our children got a small pepperoni and small cheese pizzas. Both children gave it a thumbs up. You can taste the food is made fresh and everything was delicious! For a family of four, it was a bit pricey at $80 not including tip. However, I would still recommend it.

We had the pepperoni pizza-which shouldn't be hard to do but it came out all burnt. Maybe that's to be expected from a coal fired pizza place, but I didn't enjoy the burnt taste at all. My husband and I love pizza but this is one place we won't be going back.

The wife and I went here for dinner tonight. We're on vacation and wanted to find a good pizza place near our hotel. The staff was nice and on the recommendation of our server we tried the wings. They came smothered in onions and parsley which was weird. After picking that off they were just wings and kind of forgettable. The pizza was the star though. We got pepperoni and prosciutto. The crust had a great "well done" char on it and it was very enjoyable. A solid pizza option just outside Tampa.

I'm not a resident of Florida - I'm from Buffalo, NY. I've had wood-fire pizzas so I know what to expect. Anthony's is right up there with the best. My wife, my mother-in-law and I went there for lunch, a substantial lunch. We ordered the family style salad, a small order of chicken wings, and a large pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. First the salad. It's a nice simple salad that was perfect. A great tasting salad dressing, lettuce, tomato, olives, onion and sliced hard-boiled eggs. Second, the wings. As I've said, I'm from Buffalo, home of the Anchor Bar chicken wing. Anthony's doesn't try to imitate them, they blaze their own trail with carmalized onion, foccacia and oven cooked meaty wings. They were delicious. Third, the pizza. I have had pizza in Naples, Italy. While this pizza had more toppings (as is usual with American pizza), the flavor was on target. And the crust... This is a pie to die for. Because we were from out-of-town the owner treated us to a slice of cheese cake. This is one nice dessert. Easily a five star place.

We love Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza! We move to Florida a little over a year ago from the Chicago area and we have been searching for good pizza the entire time and Anthony's does it for us! We drive from Lakeland once or twice a month for the pizza and it never lets us down! The service is so friendly at the Brandon location and the servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and bar items! The manager Marcus went out of his way last week to make sure our dining experience was flawless and moved us at a more 'couple friendly' table as the table next to us was a large group having a celebration. That kind of management style doesn't go un-noticed, Thanks Marcus! 5 Stars!

Tonight's meal at Anthony's was definitely a five star on food and service. We had the Cauliflower pizza and 10 wings, both cook to perfection. I personally do not like cauliflower, but here, I will eat it every time. You can tell the cooks have a passion for their work by the taste and presentation of the food. Adam, our server, was attentive to our needs and did a great job.

Chicken Wings!! Yum!! We were offered a complimentary sample which was delivered by the manager. These wings are marinated over night then cooked in the coal fired oven with caramelized onions. They are a tad on the greasy side but a yummy treat if you are looking to splurge on the calories. We ordered a pizza with ricotta and mini meatballs for the table. The crust was crispy the only downfall there was some black parts on the bottom that rubbed off on your hands but perhaps that has something to do with how it's cooked. The meatballs were DELICIOUS!! I ordered a caprese salad since I didn't plan on eating the pizza (I caved, lol). It was good but it is served with a bunch of roasted peppers, which wouldn't be an issue if you liked them. It didn't say it came with them on the menu, so imagine the surprise when it came. All in all, I think it is reasonably priced and the food menu is all on one page page so it's not a daunting process to figure out what you want to eat. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the waitress was not very attentive to us. I believe this was because she was also the bartender who took care of the patio. I can say though all the staff was very friendly and presented themselves well. Personally I didn't venture into the restaurant but the others in my group said the decor was very nice.

This place is a great dive. But it's a nice dive. Is very loud and expect to wait a while if you get here when it's busy. You have to try the oven roasted chicken wings come with caramelized onions and are probably rated very high by anyone's standards. Pizzas are thin crust and nicely loaded. Prices are moderately expensive. There several occasions in Tampa and Brandon. Each one seems to have its own theme. We ordered a white pizza with Kalamata olives and prosciutto. There was no prosciutto on the pizza and there were pits in the olives . My sister said that this is not the first time she's had this problem with the kids being on the pizza.

I don't know why this place has pretty good reviews when it has a mediocre overpriced pizzas. Service is not good and there's no refills on anything but water. I would go somewhere else if you want pizzas.

This is by far my favorite brick oven pizza place! I have been here numerous times for lunch, and I can only say good things about the food and the service. My favorite pizza is the Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced Tomato, and Basil pizza with no sauce (a 'specialty'). For this one, I usually ask my server for some balsamic vinaigrette and pour a little on my plate before setting my pizza slice on top if it. I let the crust soak it up and then eat it with a knife and fork. It's so good my mouth waters just thinking about it! All of their pizzas are well done, crispy, and delicious!! I have had their other specialty pizzas, but this is the one that keeps me coming back. I can also attest to the fabulous salad (very large, very tasty, and enough for two!) and their unique chicken wings with caramelized onions...very very delicious! I only ever had one experience, where our pizza was just a bit too overcooked for our tastes. We mentioned this to our server, who asked if we had eaten there before and assured us it was supposed to be that way, so we decided to give it a few more bites. As I was cutting my slice with a knife and trying to pull a piece off with my fork, the piece let loose and flew across the dining room, almost hitting our server as she was walking by (perfect timing...and mind you, the pizza still tasted pretty damn good). She came over, apologized profusely and stated the pizza definitely should not be that well done. She offered to have a new pizza made, but we declined because we were on break from work and had to get back. She ended up taking 50% off our bill and gave us each $15 in gift certificates to use at a later date. For us, that was two more visits! She more than compensated for our experience. I love this place...the food, the ambiance, and the service.

we ordered the 10pc chicken wings. the wings are oven baked and drizzled with caramelized onions. its somewhat crispy, but not fried crispy. not your everyday wings so try it! we also ordered the large arugula salad pizza, note that its just enough for two. the pizza is great but nothing special. and lastly pizza and beer is just perfect, so i ordered the cigar city maduro dark beer as our beverage. if your in the area, try it!

I order the Roasted Cauliflower Pizza which was pretty good. It was heavy with the cauliflower obviously. So I ate a few of the larger pieces of cauliflower first before being able to pick up a slice without having the vegetable fall off. You park you vehicle in the designated parking spots and someone comes out with your pizza. Nope they aren't mind readers. They ask for make/model/color of your car when you call and place an order for curbside pickup. I ordered a large pizza and it was about $23 after tax. I'll probably be back, not for the cauliflower pizza.

I recently dined here for a large work gathering. All I have to say is WOW. We had about 30-40 people in our group and I guess they have a deal for $13 a person you get tons of apps and pizza (crazy good deal). I decided to try the Sangria and was super surprised with how fresh and flavorful it was, so surprised I had 3 glasses. We started with salads, chicken wings, meatballs with ricotta, cheese bread, eggplant and short ribs. It was a crazy amount of food. The chicken wings were fall off the bone amazing and I really enjoyed the meatballs topped with fresh ricotta. We also got tons of pizza. I was overly stuffed by did try a slice of pepperoni and mushroom and I loved the coal fire touch. We had great service all night and I am still shocked with the catering deal we got. I will most definitely be back

Arrived around 7:30 on a Saturday and we were sat immediately. Nice restaurant, with a casual but classy atmosphere with great nostalgic music playing. We were greeted quickly by our server Paul. Since it was our first time, he was amazing. Explaining their cooking process to the tee. We ordered the 10 wings prior to our pizza because we were told by friends that they were very good. The restaurant employees coal heat ovens not wood fire, and they tout that they are a NY style, well done, thick crust pizzeria. So the wings arrived. Amazing presentation with caramelized onions and focaccia bread. The wings were amazing. These are not traditional buffalo spicy wings. These wings are the restaurants own concoction. Crispy, yet moist and flavorful. They are cooked in the same pizza ovens, so the flavors are lightly smoky and delicious. Paul mentioned that their foods are not frozen...there is no freezer on premises. We could tell that the wings were fresh. We ordered the Paul Young and Ron pizza- sweet peppers, sausage, mozzarella, ricotta and meatballs. When it arrived we were excited. It looked amazing, but tasted even better. Fresh tomato sauce is the base...they make their own. It didn't overpower the pizza, where some do. The combination of cheeses was delightful and the dollops of ricotta really added an extra special and tantalizing flavor to the pie. The sweet peppers were not as sweet as we would have expected, but they were tasty. The sausage and the meatballs were plentiful and full of flavor. The crust was cooked to perfection, just as Paul had explained- thin, dark on the edges and golden underneath. Overall, a delightfully flavorful pizza pie. Delicious. The restaurant also has a nice list of wines and craft beers. We opted for soft drinks. A great experience and we will be back. I highly recommend this pizzeria!!

Having my daughter in town we thought we'd take her to a sure fire thing, Anthony's. As expected the food was first rate although the pizza choices were not something I would have picked but not having tasted them before I just went along with the program. Pizza choice 1. Meatball and Ricotta pizza. I have had ricotta on pizza only once before and to me it doesn't work well. I love it otherwise. The same with meatballs. I love meatballs, even make my own often, on pizza? Can't do it. Pizza choice 2. Philly cheesesteak with grilled onion pizza. Although I liked this better it still was not something I would try again. Before the pizza however were those perfectly delicious wings. They are truly amazing. So why a review update? It seems that my fellow yelpers and hopefully Anthony's management will see this. The place was really crowded and we were told a 10 to 15 minute wait. Fair enough. But when we saw an unused table I asked the hostess why couldn't we have that table, she said it was for parties of 5 or more. Folks the table was just a round table in the corner, nothing big, nothing special but policy is policy. I asked her, so let me get this right, we re waiting. If a party of 5 comes in they will be seated immediately? She said yes. I told her that was a very unfair policy and it wasn't right. She agreed and shrugged her shoulders and gave me one of those don't blame me, I only work here looks. My other gripe is about staff calling women "guys" like "hi guys". I'm taking a star back because of these two issues. Nothing to do with food, it is still awesome.

We just had the wings and all I can say is GIVE ME MORE! Not your everyday wings... no hot sauce, no contest on how many or how hot can you eat them. These are just perfectly cooked, olive oil marinated, caramelized onion covered perfection like I've never had! The staff is extremely helpful and courteous and the restaurant is super clean. Check it out.....

The wings were interesting but I missed having a sauce with wings (the caramelized onions were amazing on top though). The pizza was only ok and I expected a lot more for the price. BEWARE...only water has refills All the drinks are from bottles (I asked what there fountain drinks were and the waitress said coke product not acknowledging that they don't have fountain drinks)

I recently visited Tampa Florida and my friends and I were looking for some good pizza after the Buccaneers and Pathers game. I did a local google search for a Pizza place with a high rating. Anthony's in Brandonm FL, was at the top. It was about 15 minutes before close and I called and asked if they were still open. The manager Marcus, informed me that they were about to close but he would start our pizzas for us and have a table ready for us to dine in. Sure enough, we arrived with minutes to spare until close. Marcus greeted us and assured us it was not a problem for us to be there soo late. I cannot tell how impressed I was. I've been in the pizza buisness for 19 years and I was just floored that Marcus the manager, and Adam the server were so kind and hospitable. Resturaunts do not do this in Maryland. They practically kick you out 30 minutes before close. Not only was the staff awesome, the pizza was fabulous. Even my friends that have lived near by never thought about giving Anthony's a try. They were also very impressed. I am a pizza connoisseur . The pizza reminds me a lot of New Haven CT style pizza where my Italian side of the family is from. So this pizza hit home for me. The sauce was perfectly spiced with a bold tomato taste. The crust had a perfect snap along with that coal fire taste. I would highly recommend this pizza place to anyone visiting or even to the locals. Also, the beer selection was awesome. Although I didn't get any beer, I am also a connoisseur and recognized a lot of the great beers on tap. Thanks again to Marcus, Adam and staff at the Brandon FL location. This pizza experience was one of the highlights of the trip. I strive to open my very own pizza place similar to yours one day. Many Thanks,

Once you have pizza here, you won't go anywhere else! This place is ALWAYS great! Wonderful food, the best wings anywhere and the service is fantastic! So yourself a favor and put this place on your list!

Every time my in laws want to come up from North Port to visit for dinner they want to go here and I am always willing to meet them. Thier wings are like nothing you have ever tasted! Marinated overnight and served with a pile of caramelized onions on top. Best item on their menu. Their pizza never fails. Staff is always around when you need them. If I could deduct a half a star for no fountain drink options, including tea, I would but it is not that big a deal when your food is that good.

Really good pizza. They have good beers on draft as well. Always good service and the servers/bartenders are always attentive. I would recommend trying this place! Oh and a short wait for to go orders.

First time trying Anthony's (take out today with co-workers) and I hate to say it, my eggplant marino was very disappointing. I was surprised that a. it didn't come with anything (ie, over pasta and marinara) b. it was sliced so thin and was so spongy it was hard to get down, even considering the fact that I was starving. I've heard great things about this place but this eggplant was two thumbs down. :( Perhaps I should have gone calzone as my co-workers calzone looked amazing.

Very delicious !! We tried the wings , best so far !. The pizza Dough is exactly as we hoped , thin and crispy ! Only sad part is that we got out pizza cold so the cheese was hard but I can just imagine if it had been hot or warm how delicious it would have been ! Very happy to have found this pizzeria !!!

We looked forward to going to Anthony's and made the 40 minute or so trip to their Brandon location. We were not disappointed and in a word we found their menu and food to be unique. Friends started with Meatballs with Ricotta Cheese & tomato sauce along with two pieces of Focaccia bread. This app sized portion of two large meatballs and two tablespoon sized portions of Ricotta at $4.95 was a bit pricey for the portion size. They thought the meatballs were good, but nothing to write home about. We had their oven roasted chicken wings (10 pieces at $8.95) topped with a large portion of caramelized onions and Focaccia, served very crispy with the wing skin vaporized due to the high cooking heat. They were a bit spicy but I think only were seasoned with salt and lots of pepper but so flavorful from the coal oven cooking process. They were really good and the onions a delicious accompaniment. They tout their pizzas because of their cooking method as "well done" and they are, served just shy of being burned with a thin crust. If you're into thick and doughy pizza this is the antithesis. We had a large Meatball & Ricotta pizza ($18.95) which is their traditional pizza with the two toppings added. The tomato sauce is somewhat sweet but clearly has a homemade delicious flavor. The toppings were generous but we did agree with our friends the meatballs were nothing special. Our friends enjoyed their pizza with a couple of traditional toppings. We each took a third of the leftover pizza home for later. Service was very prompt another benefit of the fast high heat cooking method. I do think our waitress got back in the "looks" line at birth (she was adorable) rather than following directions to get in the brains line - hell you can't have everything. She willingly agreed to bring water at least twice and never did, and ran off quickly to get a requested menu, never to return. She was pleasant, just staying on task seemed to be difficult. The food is delivered by runners, so it wasn't much of a problem. The menu is loaded with intriguing and different items; Broccoli Rabe & Sausage pizza, pizza with peppers, onions and egg, roasted pork ribs with vinegar peppers, a featured Eggplant dish etc. The coal fired oven gives everything a delicious and unique flavor. Anthony (must be the guy whose picture is all over the place) obviously has a love for good and unique dishes. This is not your traditional pizza joint, but a creative restaurant that features pizza and worth a 40 minute drive.

I have dined here 4 times. Each time the pizza is perfect. Being an Italian myself, It's hard to find genuine home made tasting pizza. chain pizza is off limits to me. This place really tastes good, wait service is quick, helpful and friendly. The bill is never too much and they have a bar for the rare times I do drink. Cant get any better for a pizza place! This place is an A+ in my book. Try them out

Excellent food, service, beer. All over, this place is a must if you're nearby and like great food period. Pizza and wings were ridiculously good. You will stuff yourself!

Spent a great time with coworkers eating dinner. We got to sample all of their appetizers (wings - spare ribs - meatballs - eggplant and bread) and every single one was extremely well prepared and tasted wonderful. The entire staff was very professional, attentive to our large group and kept up with all of the orders. The coal fire pizzas were fantastic! Looking forward to coming back soon.

My fiance and I tried this place for the first time tonight. I called earlier today and made a "reservation" but when we arrived we were told that they don't do reservations but only call aheads. So why five stars still? The pizza and wings were phenomenal. Get some wings and they will change your life. Plus their manager was so great. Because of the reservation mix up he got our first round of drinks. Checked on us again and really made things right. Service was amazing, food was great, and we will definitely be back!!

I will start off by saying this place is expensive. The pizza is good and I enjoy the car from the coal fired oven. The real reason I go is the wings though because they are amazing! No buffalo sauce but they are crispy and come with cooked onions.

Crisp crust, fresh high quality ingredients, fast friendly service. Anthony's is a small chain that appears to have begun in S. Florida (I believe Dan Marino is part owner). I do know that quite a few former Outback Restaurant employees (old school Outback) are part of this group of restaurants and this can be the reason why the service is stellar. Definitely get the Italian salad-it's big enough for 2 and then some. Crisp, fresh lettuce, chick peas, kalamata olives, tomatoes, onions and hard boiled eggs all tossed in a vinegarette-Fantastic. My go to favorite pizza is the Ron and Young Paul. It's a crisp crust with fresh ricotta, meatballs, sausage and sweet peppers. I've been here several times and each time the quality and service have been great. Another bonus is that every Friday beer and wine is half off.

Will be back again and again!!! Love fresh, coal-fired pizza; very tasty indeed. I am grateful to see that customer service is a priority to these folks. There are TV screens all around, so all you sports fan can enjoy watching a game, eating good pizza, have a decent conversation with your table-buddies (not shouting over the noise), and drink beer (if that's your thing). If you love to drink cold tea or non-alcoholic beverages, then you will get it served to you by the bottle (and glass of ice) versus a fountain drink.

Probably the best pizza in Brandon. As a self-professed pizza connoisseur, since we've moved here we've tried pretty much every pizza place within 15 mins of the house. While none are "bad," most I wouldn't go back to. On a whim and probably the last place we tried was Anthony's...and it was well worth the wait. Now, we got take out and didn't sit in the restaurant, so this review is for that only. I'll hit on the important part, the pizza. GOOD. Ordered a Large pepperoni and garlic pizza. Fresh ingredients and the crust was tasty. I'm not one for adjectives, so I'll say, if you like thin crust pizza, you'll like this pizza. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it, it's just good food. As for the other thing I do want to mention, they have curb side service for pick-up. So after you order just drive out and someone should be out to get you quick. Which is good, because the night I showed up, the place was packed and not knowing they had curb-side service I went in...not a whole lot of room to wait around.

Is it the best pizza I've had? No. Is it close? Yes. Is it always busy? Pretty much! However, I've never had trouble with service, even on the busiest of nights with a large party which is always appreciated Anthony's is one of my favorites. I've been here a handful of times, and I've been super impressed with some dishes, and a bit lackluster on a couple others. I order the Ron and Young Paul (sausage, ricotta, and I order half sweet and half hot peppers). I always seem to return to this pie when eating here, but have heard good comments about the Meatball and Ricotta pizza. The pizza style is a thin crust, and you can expect it to be a bit crunchy and in some places more thoroughly done than others due to normal nature of a coal fire. It is definitely not your typical pizza oven dough that rolls off a conveyer belt. Pork Ribs with vinegar peppers - If you love ribs, get these!. They're marinated with a garlic, rosemary, and vinegar mix. They are divine, fall off the bone delicious. I have cravings for these in my sleep. The wings are always pretty tasty and it's easy to finish a plate meant for sharing by yourself. I've only had one taste of the dessert menu. The New York Cheesecake slices are big enough for the table to share. It is pretty rich and decadent. Happy hour is not bad and they do carry a short list of craft beer favorites. The not so great things about Anthony's(why I minus'd a star, but if I could minus just a half I would!) - The salads are mediocre. They're not bad, but they're not amazing. - Soda drinks are ordered by the bottle. For a group spending quite a bit of time here eating and relaxing, it can get quite expensive as there are no refills for them. Only the option to buy another bottle. (around $2-3 each) (or to drink water which is free)

I agree with another reviewer, probably the best pizza in Brandon. As I've said in other reviews, I'm a pizza snob. Not a connoisseur, an outright snob. Anthony's is a great little place with a relaxed atmosphere and a solid, coal oven baked pizza. Very crispy and charred on the bottom, fresh ingredients. Very authentic - think Lombardi's in Little Italy (not as good, but it'll definitely do). Waitstaff is pleasant & helpful, wine by the glass or bottle. Good for an inexpensive, laid back date or with the family. It works.

The roasted chicken wings are the bomb. I usually don't like chicken wings but when I went with my ex he convinced me to try them and I fell in love. I haven't had much else on the menu, I mainly just go for those perfect wings. The atmosphere is great - reminds me of restaurants in New York. Servers are always friendly and professional. I have no complaints. Nothing really screams out at me to come back, except the wings. :)

Wow....it was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed! Obviously, this is a neighborhood favorite. The service is always quick and friendly. Order the salad and it will be there before you take your first sip of your drink. Be sure to add cheese for the extra flavor. The wings are really tasty. The seasoning is not too salty, but leaves a good flavor in your mouth. The grilled onions add a touch of flavor set off with the bread. The pizza is coal fired. The crust is crispy with a touch of the in every bite. The cheese pizza is simple but elegant. My favorite is the eggplant pizza....and it is just awesome! Sit on the patio for a bit quieter evening. It is a relaxing evening!

Anthony's is good but nothing spectacular.. being a transplant from Los Angeles and having eaten food in all major metropolises of this great country i am amazed by the lack of decent food in the Tampa area. That being said Anthony;s pizza is OK, it is coal fired and often comes out with a burnt crust. but it is good, much better then any other pizza you can get. Their wings however are top notch, they are also cooked in the coal oven and come out great, the seasoning is perfect. also had the eggplant marino it is awesome. this is definitely a "eat here" type of pizza because it is not good once the crust gets soggy (about 10 min.) again don't expect any great New York Pizza here but it is the one of the best you can get in the area.

Fantastic coal grilled pizza that you can customize to your liking of toppings. Nice wine, reds and whites, draft beers and a nice selection of craft beers too. There are some entrees on the menu, but the crispy pizza rules.. Outside area needs to be cleaned regularly, not just the tops of the tables but under the tables and chairs getting rid of webs and debris.

Excellent pizza and wings. We were traveling in Florida, and found Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza outside of Tampa. The restaurant was attractive and very clean. Our waiter Adam was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the cauliflower pizza, which was unusual, but delicious. Anthony's is also known for its wings; since this was our first visit, they gave us a sample. They had a great roast chicken flavor and were smothered in onions. The manager also stopped by our table, which was a nice touch.

I love pizza. I love meatballs. So why is it that it never occurred to me to combine the two? Luckily, Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza was way ahead of me. I've been wanting to try this place for a while since I've only heard good things, but I was not at all prepared for the wave of tastiness that slammed into my all too picky tastebuds. I had the ricotta and meatball pizza which was unbelievable. Mini meatballs resting atop islands of warm ricotta cheese - how can you go wrong? And they were so fast getting the food out. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but framed pictures of larger than life classics like Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and John Lennon balance out the decor. This might be the best pizza I've had anywhere. If you haven't stopped in for a slice (or four), believe me - you want to give them a chance.

Went back. They have a vegetarian pizza with cauliflower??? Now I didn't feel like vegetarian pizza so..I asked for a side dish of this roasted cauliflower pizza MINUS the crust. Delicious. Who goes to a pizza place and orders vegetables? I think the vegetarian client will like this. Of course the wings are still delicious.

My mother lives in Brandon and had been dying to try this place, so I obliged her. Man was I glad! What a great place to pick up some good authentic NY pizza. Seeing as how I just got back from Italy I was ready to mock the place, but it really was impressive. The menu is small, but I don't think that's a bad thing. We each got our own lunch sized pizza (great idea), me the mushroom and her the white pizza. We had slices of each others and both were great. Also had a nice HUGE glass of chianti. Overall I was very please with the food. The only reason I kept the last star was simply because out waitress had a sort of "ugh, I don't want serve you" vibe that was unwarranted.

Thought the pizza was "okay" at best. Ordered a small pizza with sliced tomatoes and extra sauce. Again, was okay. Thought is was pricey for "okay". The saving grace was the cheese cake.

Probably the worst pizza ever! Thin crust tasted like cardboard, that was the part that wasn't totally charred & black to a crisp. Pizza was so bad, it was inedible.

I wanted to take the time to review Anthony's because we moved away and this is one of those restaurants we really miss!! The pizza is outstanding and the best by far in Brandon, FL. The wings are roasted (not messy) and very tasty. You have to get the salad!! It's so simple but the dressing is just plain good. On occasion, I have ordered the Tuna sandwich or Tuna on their salad. ALL GOOD. You can't go wrong. The atmosphere is casual, yet sophisticated. It's a must try if you're in the Brandon, FL area. I can't wait to visit and go back!!! Hurry.. GO NOW!!!

  • Rob B.

What a let down. I am a huge fan of wood and coal fired pizza, the crust being slightly charred is something dreams are made of. But here the crust had char to it but no discernible flavor. The pizza overall was very bland even though it had what should have been great toppings, prosciutto and broccoli rabe. The server asked if we wanted the prosciutto cooked or raw so we ordered raw and when it came out it was very crispy and obviously not raw. She did not catch this mistake and we were to hungry to send it back. The highlight of the meal was the Peroni on draft at a fair price. This however is not enough to get me back considering all the other great pizza joints in the Bay area.

  • David G.

I went back to try their specialty pizza - Fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and basil and I threw in some sausage. This is definitely a much better pie than the standard pizza. The fresh mozzarella makes all the difference. The oil dripping off other pizzas, I'm guessing is coming from the processed cheese. The fresh mozzarella doesn't have the added oil so there is no oil residue. Note: The 4 star rating is only for the specialty pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil. The other pizza using the processed cheese still only rate 3 stars.

The best pizza. Pricey but worth it. I live in Houston and the Tampa area. Anthony's please open in the Houston area you would have zero competition.

  • Brandon K.

The pizza here is great, one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the salad was horrible it tasted like it sat for a long time and had all lettuce cores in it. I also disliked how they served your drinks they give you a 20 oz and that's all you get for 2.50 you think you could get unlimited refills. Overall is was a great experience except those few dislikes.

  • Chris H.

One of the best pizza places I've been to in some time. It's a little more upscale then most. Dimly lit, wait staff dressed in black, decent wine and beer selection. They also have curbside takeout. My wife recommends a jacket.

  • Jodi M.

I really liked the food, but I think it may take a few visits before my family and I find their favorites. Since we are big fans of pizza and frequent Babes, Mellow Mushroom and East Coast, my family would probably choose one of those instead of going back. Since I love fresh and homemade I can't wait to try it again. Our waitress was efficient, but not friendly (that bothered my daughter) so that was a bit of a turn off. Also, they only have bottled drinks. I hate that! I had unsweeted tea and it was in a bottle. When a business does that I think they are just trying to get more money out of me since I tend to drink more than just one glass. To me that was the biggest negative.

Well it was very yummy! Ok so to start we were greeted by the manager who was very knowlegeable about the wine and beer selection ( though it was not extravagant). We sat at the bar an ordered the tomato and mozzarella salad which was interesting. It was served with roasted peppers. We added the balsamic as it was not on the salad but readily available at the bar. We ordered the white pizza with fresh garlic and it was very good. We finished off a large pie. Yum. Staff were friendly & prices and for an upscalish pizza joint were as expected. I am definately going back to try to eggplant dish and btw happy hour runs from 3-6:30. Half price wines and $1 off beers. And there is an outdoor seating area that overlooks 60 and the parking lot but hey it's outside !

Tried the pizza and wings. Pizza was very good and even better reheated the next day. The wings were not what I expected but VERY tasty. All in all we will be returning.

  • Jessie D.

Great pizza, some people don't like the coal fired pizza but as a non pizza eater I love it! What's even better are the wings, make sure you try them. They are crispy, not buffalo wings, served with onions on top and bread, a must each time we go. I am looking forward to trying other menu items but am so hooked on my favorites that it's hard to stray. The prices may be a little hig for some but well worth it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
