Glad I didn't pass up this place in favor of the nearby Jersey Mike's! My parents and I chose to take a chance here, and I personally enjoyed it. Service was quick, lunch hour seems a bit slow so we were seated immediately and brought our drinks within minutes. The menu has some really nice choices, with more affordable options for lunch hours. I ordered the yakisoba and a side of fried rice while my parents ordered a lunch bento box for the each of them. They got their soup and salad sides roughly ten minutes before the rest of the food was brought out. My yakisoba was delicious! A big hearty plate of noodles and chicken with a deliciously-flavored sauce. The side of fried rice tasted great as well, even better when I put some of the leftover chicken from my main dish with it. The bento boxes had a lot of food as well, so plenty of substance for a comparatively low price. After we were done, the check arrived in a few minutes, so the speed of the service was consistent. Overall, a decent restaurant that definitely deserves a visit to see if it's something you'll enjoy.

So disappointed in the service. We came in at 6:30 on a Monday night for our anniversary dinner. Came here before thought it was pretty good. We were told it would be about 20 to 30 minutes. As we waited we noticed the floor was filthy. Who wants to eat dinner in a place where the floor looked like it has never been cleaned? I hope their kitchen is not that filthy. After waiting 50 minutes we got tired of waiting and left. Disappointed we were not offered at least a table on the non hibachi side. Girl at the front desk didn't seem to care at all. Acknowledged to us that she knows it was wrong to tell us that and let us leave.

My original opinion of Wasabi is a lot worse as a result of the past 2 visits. It seems like they are going downhill a bit. On a recent visit with a group of 8, we waited 15 minutes at a hibachi table just to be greeted and have a drink order taken. When we were finally greeted, the person doing so was clearly having personal problems that were spilling over into work time. Either that or he just hates his job so much that he literally could not smile at all. Our table even tried to make him laugh and he just refused to have any form of happiness show on his face. When the "change of the guards" occurred mid-meal, the service improved greatly and our hibachi chef was AMAZING! He had a great personality and I believe there were no complaints about his entres. One of my biggest let downs of this experience was the soup. I have NEVER tasted miso soup this bad. It tasted like Campbell's chicken broth. Anyone who knows miso knows how complex the process and ingredients are to give this soup it's unique flavor. This miso was an insult to Japanese quisine. My sushimi was just ok but not even close to the best I've had in the same price range. On another past visit we ordered the tempura vegetables and they were greasy, bland, and undercooked. I see no reason at this point to return.

Nice and clean new sushi / hibachi join here in Lakewood Ranch. While we didn't try the hibachi grill yet we have been to the dinning room and once to the sushi bar. The prices are pretty good and I wouldn't say they're over inflated at all. There are some great lunch specials too. The sushi is good and they've always accommodated my requests for no mayo (masago) and no roe; it sounds so simple, but so many places don't meet my requests for this. The tempura was very good, soup as well, but the salad dressing is supposed to be ginger, but it's some creamy mayo based dressing. That's not a typically style dressing for a salad at all at a Japanese restaurant, but if you ask for the ginger sauce from the hibachi side, they'll bring that instead and it's awesome! The decor, lights, etc are super cool. We tend to visit here every few weeks and it continues to be good.

1 star = Decor 1 star = Service Half star = Cleanliness Half star = Food Friendly service and modern/vibrant decor are what make this Bradenton Japanese Steakhouse truly shine! The sushi is very average though, yet very overpriced for the size and freshness of rolls. Seaweed salad was fantastic though, as well as, the fried tofu bites for starters. With very few options for sushi in this area, let alone at least decent sushi, Wasabi might be one of the best actually. Though that's easy to say when the bar around here has yet to be set very high at all.

I wasn't impressed by their sushi. One good thing is that the restaurant is relatively new and the place is very clean. The staff was friendly as well.

Food and service were great but atmosphere just so so. It is very tacky inside. Bubbles floating down the glass walls, giant plastic light fixture over the bar, sparkly cafe tables. This isn't a place I want to return to simply because of the poor ambience.

Wife and I adore this place. Usually go for happy hour and sit at bar. Sushi is always fresh and amazing. Restaurant is always clean. The best part is getting the unfiltered sake'. The parking lot is super huge since it's inside a strip mall same as wal mart so no worries there. Sit at the bar if you want quick service.

We were seated right away at 6pm for hibachi. The chef was very personable and great with kids. I was really impressed how interactive he was. The food was comparable with other hibachi restaurants. I especially liked the vegetables. However I did notice a different taste in the shrimp and creamy ginger salad instead of traditional ginger.

Fantastic sushi. I would recommend the Dynamite roll and do some hibachi with the kids.

Typical Japanese "Steakhouse" in this town... Smallish with Japanese cooks and standard fair menu. Prices, selection, service and prices good. Decor is smart and clean. Sushi was good but nothing memorable. No toro. Yakisoba noodles were hot, cooked right and filling. Recommend opting the more romantic & sedated Avitar-type looking dinner side if you're not doing Hibachi. Quiet and good prices.

My husband and I had a coupon to try out the latest Japanese steakhouse to hit Lakewood Ranch, so off we went! We went on a weeknight (maybe a Monday? Can't remember) and the place was pretty much empty. There was only one other couple at our hibachi table but hey! less people to make awkward conversation with. The menu was a typical Japanese steakhouse variety. I chose the filet & scallops and my husband had the filet & chicken. The meal started out with the clear onion soup which was tasty, and second we had the house salad with ginger dressing. The ginger dressing here is more of a creamy variety which was different, but still good. There was also a shrimp appetizer prepared by the chef, yum! The chef was entertaining and even had a toy he used to shoot saki into our mouths, ha! Overall the food was good, but the service was slow which I'll partly blame to it being a brand new establishment. However, like I stated, we were the only hibachi table there so service should not have been lacking. The atmosphere was nice and modern, however I did side-eye the choice in easy listening music that was playing. I hope this place makes it, but they need to up their service if they want to compete with DaRuMa and Kumo!

Owner/ manager served me soup with urine after complaining about the bland taste!!! People I know what pee smells like! He kept insisting I try it while the people from the kitchen came out to watch. He kept saying "you won't know if the taste is better unless you try this one" I refused after smelling it and he still kept insisting I try it. The owner is young and there is no language gap. bad experience! I combined that the soup was bland and suggested he should go try it because he might get complaints during their dinner crowd (seriously this soup tasted like it was diluted with too much water) so obviously this pissed him off that I would say he should go try it. I guess he didn't like getting called out as a restaurant owner and I can't help I watch too much food network!

Ok 1st time here. Very nice atmosphere and great lightning. Service is something to be improved on. They only seemed to have one guy that ran around taking orders and filling drinks. Took forever to get drinks and he messed up the order of the patrons next to us. I had the Tampa Bay Special. Shrimp, Lobster and Scallops. It was the best of any Japanese steak house I've ever been to and I've been to many. I would definitely return. I'll give it 4 stars until they can improve the service.

Dining room (not tepanyaki) for dinner. Sushi was fresh, reasonably priced, and quite good. My wife's chicken teriyaki dinner had a large portion for mouse chicken, fresh vegetables, soup and salad - an excellent value. Ben's service was capable and friendly. The setting was very attractive and wonderfully quiet,

Worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. Sad salad. Miserable miso soup. Terrible (alleged) NY strip steak in teriyaki. Avoid at all costs.

Awesome!!! I am keeping the awesome.. However, after getting their sushi happy hour for as long as we have known about it -tonight all of a sudden the deal was gone.. We had no idea the same sign that is always outside "happy hour" was out on the sidewalk.. We ordered and then found out a little later the deal was no longer on.. Disappointed and feel misled.. The sushi though very very good. Taking away a star for this reason.

Good not great but very creative. I was really impressed how fancy they make their sushi look. It's just not the highest quality of seafood. Pretty atmosphere.

Service is slow, the food is not bad...my biggest complaint is the cooks, they should be clowns. I don't go out to eat to have a chef (clown) throw food at me...they are very sloppy...will not return

First time getting sushi in FL and not too impressed. For the amount of money we spent on 3 rolls (over $32) I felt like we didn't get very much. The rolls themselves were pretty small and it was comparable to getting sushi in a grocery store. We ordered it to go and it was ready in about 10 minutes, though there didn't seem to be anyone else in the restaurant. I would go back if I was in the shopping plaza and wanted sushi in a pinch, but will be exploring other places first before going back.

This is an ok sushi place. Did not try the hibachi but tried the sushi and steak rice. Steak rice was nothing spectacular. Was lacking any real kind of flavor but did serve as sustenance. The sushi was ok, it too was not very memorable in flavor. Highlight of the meal was the Hatana marble soda. Lol. Definitely will not be returning but the atmosphere was nice and the prices were ok for good sushi, only I thought it was a bit pricey for the quality received. Enjoy.
