Tarpon Pointe is so Bradenton, I really wanted to hate on it. However, I came here after work one night with some work buddies and totally loved it. After the horrible band stopped making so much noise, it was a pleasure to drink their overpriced drinks and enjoy the outdoors. Looking at their online menu, it looks expensive and not that great. The website also makes it appear that they do not have a full liquor bar, but they do. They even make daiquiris. The food I had was actually really good bar food--- loaded waffle fries, nachos, and chicken wings. There are all kinds of locals here of all ages, and for various reasons. People even bring their kids because there is a volleyball court and cornhole games in the sand. Parking can get difficult on the gravel lot, so come early. The best thing to do here is to come right after work, grab some unhealthy food and drinks, and take the stairs up to the top observatory deck to watch the sunset. I might come back when it is not so hot outside and attempt to enjoy myself again in the future.

Great atmosphere but not so great food and drinks. I've been here 5 times. Only because I love the playful atmosphere and scenery. The food is not bad but very mediocre. The drinks...I have never had a good drink here! They are all watered down and everyone I bring here say the same. I'm 5 feet and 96 pounds. I'm a light weight but I can have 4 of those drinks and not get a buzz. Too bad. It's such a great location for a fun happy hour.

We had the shrimp and blue chips. Both were on on point. And worth the value. We listened to live music on the water, not sure what's better. Oh maybe the wait staff. All friendly but almost non existent Marco .... Marco. Marco. No polo. Suggestion next time understaffed have tables order from the bar.

2 stars for the location only. Food is overpriced and not worth the calories. Drinks are expensive but enjoyable when there is a good band.

We were back there again today. We go fairly often bec DH likes their burgers. Tired of burgers, I ordered the Asian Rice Bowl, hubby got the Jack Burger. Both were covered in the same awful sweet spicy sauce that was MUCH TOO SWEET. Hubby left half his burger with the same sauce, he NEVER does that, i left most of my bowl after wiping the sauce off the shrimp. I'd ordered the Asian bec I thought it wouldn't be sweet. It was like they poured syrup on it. Plus, it's INSTANT RICE and FROZEN VEGGIES. I can make that at home. Who is cooking for them? Fire them, they seriously suck. Too much gagging sauce! If we go for the same or any other entree, we will ask for sauce on the side. I won't order any rice bowl again - it's just something that comes out of a freezer bag. Nope.

Usually not a complainer and not at all picky about food but this is one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Service was quick and friendly but that's all that was good. I had fish & chips. The fish was more than soggy--like it had been soaked in grease. I asked for my fries very very very crisp. They came out OK but just normal OK, no where near what I had requested. The cole slaw had zero flavor. My husband's sweet potato fries were lukewarm at best. My friend's fish taco's didn't have much flavor either. I wish I had checked the reviews here before going. Would have saved us from a bad meal.

We were here sunday with family, my teenage son ordered the Grouper sandwich, grilled. Typically he inhales a sandwhich in about 5 seconds. However, he was eating it so slowly. I tasted it and learned why. It was as if the cook had spilled the salt on the filet. It was very, very salty. Sad that it was a $17 sandwich. We love the atmosphere and location, but seems it's been hit or miss on food. Owners should spot check and taste the food they are charging people for without cooks knowing.

The setting is awesome but the wait staff are always understaffed .it takes forever to get a drink and forever to get your food.

Last night we went to Tarpon Pointe to watch the sunset. We sat at the main bar with Emily as our server. Emily was friendly and service was great. We decided on sharing a pointe Black and Blue burger and within minutes of ordering our burger it was being set on the counter. We all were a bit shocked at how quickly the food came out but was impressed just the same. The hamburger was lukewarm at best but the flavors of the hamburger were good. We finished our meal and then left for home. No sooner did we get home and we both got violently ill. This apparently has been a trend of Tarpon Pointe after speaking with friends and family. Unfortunately after this experience we too will not be returning.

I was hoping the second time around would be better than the 1st but I'm disappointed to report it was not. Although, we were greeted with a smile this time our server appeared overwhelmed and annoyed. She took our order, bought out the water, dropped off the check, & picked up the check. While she was picking up the check another patron stopped at our table and was asking her to give the check to him when she brings it to the table. She pulled his check out of her pocket & gave it to him. Politely he said "no, no just give it to me when you bring it over". And she was looking at him as if she was confused. Then I said "He saying he's going I be the one to pay for the check so please give it to him when you bring it to his table." She said "oh ok" & then rolled her eyes at him. But this time I had the mushroom & provolone burger w/fries. It "looked" good but it was just edible at best. I don't think I'll pay for another meal at this place. Man, I really want to like this place because it's in a great location but oh well.

Been here three times now and food/service continues to be mediocre at best. Usually in a party of three or four.. at least 2 orders are wrong in some way - either the wrong preparation (fried instead of grilled) or undercooked. This time the chef even came out and said "it was fine and cooked right".. I'm pretty sure that if I can't pull apart fish with two forks.. it ain't cooked. Ambiance and location are good fun. It is a good place for drinks, but I wouldn't bother with the food.

Been there twice . Both times were horrible . I should have learned the first time but hey at least they are consistent. I had a margarita , grouper bites and a pulled pork sandwich . The margarita was sugar water In a plastic Dixie cup, the "grouper" was mainly fried batter with almost no trace of fish and the pulled pork sandwich tasted like they bought it in the frozen foods section of a supermarket and microwaved it . Great location, bad service, worse food. Save yourself the trip and hit the local McDonald's, it will be less money, faster service and most likely better food.

I wanted to try a new place on the water and this place ticks that box. But that's about it. Service was slow and it wasn't busy. (Lunch time on a Sunday). I had the shrimp tacos and they were ok but nothing to write home about. A friend had the shrimp po boy (which she liked). The sweet potato fries were like warm to cold. With so many other options on the water, it's doubtful that I'll return.

Awesome water-side casual dining. Great seafood! Excellent service! Please try the Shrimp Hush puppies! My grouper meal was delicious and very fresh! Prices are very reasonable!

Over priced for a side of the road sad attempt to be sports-activity-live entertainment-bar AND restaurant. With the river side view they think they have the right to over charge for everything. There are places out on AMI with Gulf views with better service and much reasonable prices. The outdoor seating does not have attentive wait service, you are pretty much on your own. With ties to the Major himself it is easy to see where the greed comes from...

2 words: not good. I have given this place chance after chance but it always is just terrible. You want to come here in the middle of the day for a drink under A tiki tent, perfect. You want to come here after stopping on the river in your boat for a quick drink and a round of corn hole, great. You want to come here for a good dinner on the water with a view,Think again. Their food isn't good and it hasn't changed no matter how many management changes this restaurant has.

For a place as beautiful as this it should be way way better. Terrible food, one full hour for wings that were made wrong. Managers are a complete joke. Have given them 3 chances because it's a wonderful location, but never again. It is now my job to warn people of the overpriced for what you get place in the area. It's a damn shame

One of our favorite places in the area. The chicken wings have plenty of meat. Good meal choices on the menu. Nice view. Friendly bartender.

Such a shame how they have such a nice place and such horrible execution. 7-11 has better food than this place. Note to the owner: you have a gold mind and you know it. Try to put some of that money that you put into your pockets back on the restaurant 1. You need a better menu 2. Hire a chef 3. Implement some music 4. Have management that can expedite orders. Waiter never brought me my beer--he forgot. At Least one plate had to be comped because it was the wrong one. The only thing that keeps you open is the location. THAT'S IT.

We frequent Tarpon Point Restaurant and lately, the service and food quality have been slipping. Last Thursday it took about 20 minutes for drinks to arrive after ordering them and about an hour for food to be served after ordering. The food quality is slipping as well. Out of our party of 6 adults and 5 kids, everyone commented that their meal wasn't very good. However, the view and atmosphere outweigh the slow service and mediocre food.

Average food, great atmosphere! Hawaiian bowl is excellent!! First place we bring out of town visitors. Very very Florida.

Great burger, excellent location. I wish the burgers and sandwiches came with fries instead of chips because the chips are bad. You can pay $3.50 extra and get something else instead of the chips, but that seems a bit much seeing as how it is pretty standard for burgers at this price point to be served with fries anyway. I don't think I should have to pay $3.50 to get fries INSTEAD of chips. EDIT: I misunderstood the menu, see owner's comment below. I am happy to know I can get my fries. I have also changed my star rating from 3 to 4.

Good view but food is not great. Last time I met a friend there, we ate dinner before going there for one drink. It's a shame but we've had multiple bad experiences and from what other friends in the community are saying they've been having the same experiences. Wish they would make improvements so we can actually come there for a few hours and truly enjoy it.

Love the food here! Delicious seafood at a decent price. Great atmosphere too with an outside seating area and a separate bar. Service was exceptionally friendly. And the location is right on the water! I would definitely come back again!

  • Lindsey B.

Love being so close to the water but there were very few seafood choices on the menu. Our food was subpar and the beer was generic domestic. There were beach games going on which were fun and a Jimmy Buffet cover band which made me like the atmosphere even if none of us cared for our meals.

This is not the kind of place anyone will make a special trip to for the food. The food is mediocre at best. I got the veggie burger with fries, and the burger had some God awful "slop" on it, I think it was Thousand Island dressing, not sure. They charged $1 extra for cheese but the waitress made it sound like it came with cheese. The burger itself was kind of tasty, but buried in a stale bun and covered with an unwanted sauce, it was a little lost. The fries tasted like the oil they were fried in was quite old. What is worth the trip is the outside seating right on the water. It is a nice place to just sit and enjoy the view. I'd go here again but would probably just order drinks. Kids and dogs are welcome in the outside area and they have games for the kids to play. I saw a lot of families taking up the picnic tables on the day I went. It seems the menu would appeal to kids. There was a wide range of people on the day I visited, from bikers and biker wannabe's to families to a gentleman in a wheelchair there for the live music. The outdoor seating can accommodate them all. Service was fast and friendly. Extra points because the waitress brought over a bucket of water for my dog.

Distinctly one of the better views on the River. The location is perfect for a quick drop in for lunch or dinner if your cruising thru the River, it's also an easy place to get to right off the 41 near manatee memorial hospital. Iphone GPS puts you slightly off course so just get close enough and follow the red pin. We made it for happy hour and it was decent but nothing spectacular. I've read a few reviews about food quality and for being a beach bar there food wasn't that bad at all compared to most around this area. There was three of us and we were able to eat and drink in a reasonable amount of time, so the waiter wasn't overwhelmed non the least. Two of us ordered the shrimp poboy, and the other ordered a veggie burger. Food came out not too long after ordering but not lightning speed either and that's good gave us time to relax and drink up the view. The poboys were good but could have used more shrimp and more sauce they used on top, they have other sides than fries but there just so good I had to have them. The veggie burger I tried and it wasn't bad but not excellent. The bun it came on seem dry like it sat in the heat lamp way too long. They have several signature mixed drinks that were very good looking, we tried one called sunset something or other but very good. Draft beer was like 2.50 each , not too bad the waiter didn't seem to know if they had local tap tho... Return to tarpon Pointe grill is a must. I also forgot to mention the live music and volley ball area sweet! Please tip your waiter and waitresses.

Fantastic fin for a weekend trip to the coast! Nice tiki bar right off the river walk. We came for a quick drink... Very chill place. Will definitely be back to hang out play some corn hole and relax.

This is the 5th time I've been here and only because of the view and location. The service is 100% horrible. Today we ventured over to a picnic table bar side that the hostess directed us to. Shortly after we were scolded very rudely by the waitress who proceeded to tell us that someone was sitting at our table. She kept repeating herself and had the worst attitude. It was a little much for just sitting down less than 2 seconds earlier. The previous group was at the bar and told her "no we're not sitting their anymore." She never apologized and then left us sitting for 6 minutes before even taking a drink order. She was certainly in the weeds - but I have found that killing them with kindness is a better route when I was a server for yrs. Food is okay which is a shame because the location is golden. Good place to grab some beers and play some cornhole. Keep low expectations and you'll be ok.

The location is terrific and view is beautiful. Living in Florida, I am fortunate to be by the water and I have been to many restaurants that are right up this alley. Now, having said that, I've also gained a bit of a penchant for knowing what to expect from these types of places. First, there are two main bars of the Tiki type, and much of the area is covered in sand. It's a bit of a family type of place I would say, with different activities to do in the sand. There is stage outside where they host live bands regularly. Overall, I think the layout is pretty nice. Secondly, the service is decent. The younger waiters and waitresses seem to be nice and attentive. The third part is where the problems for me start. The prices. They are in one word, ridiculous. Though I do understand that prices are usually higher on waterfront locations, this place is one of the most expensive I've seen. If you want a bacon cheeseburger, you can expect to pay over $13. The burger was good, but it wasn't $13 good, even with the view. The drinks are outrageously priced as well. This is definitely not the place you want to go if you're looking to for reasonable prices. Overall, I think that I would enjoy this place much more if they came down on the prices. Otherwise it's just another place that I'll go to every once in a blue moon if other friends are going.

When my fiancé's parents and party animal friends were in the Anna Maria area for vacation, I decided that I wanted to meet them somewhere in the area that was close to the highway as I was driving from Tampa. Fellow Yelper Cathy J. recommended this spot as a good place for food and atmosphere. She wasn't kidding about the atmosphere! They all got there before the sun went down and got to watch a beautiful sunset. There was plenty of room in this restaurant and it was nice being able to feel the breeze off the river while we were eating. There was a guy playing his guitar and singing bar songs, which was fun, especially for the folks I was meeting who were in from Ohio. My food was alright. I was trying to be healthier so I ordered the steak kabobs with rice and corn. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. Fiance' ordered a burger, which I tried and loved. I also had a bite of a shrimp hush puppy, which was the bomb. My suggestion: order something unhealthy and fried - you will like it better!

Don't plan on going on the 4th of July, unless you want to break the bank for some corn hole and mediocre (at best) fare. Seven of us - my husband, three kids, my brother and his girlfriend - showed up this year wanting to be at a good location to view fireworks. We were surprised by a $10 cover charge per person over age 8 at the gate (which had an uncomfortable police presence). Then, if you planned to eat in the restaurant (and since we arrived there around dinner time, we were), you had to order a MINIMUM $40 per person in food and beverage. So, for just my immediate family to eat there and watch the fireworks, it would have cost us, at a minimum, $250. No thanks. Good way to turn away business and repeat customers.

You've got to appreciate this place for what it is. A chill spot on the river to kick back and have some cheap drinks and greasy food. If you're looking for a NICE restaurant this is not the place to go. But if you're more interested in having a relaxed, low key night where you can wear shorts and flip flops to dinner this is a great spot. The loaded fries appetizer is sinfully delicious albeit pretty greasy. The burgers are good. The fish n chips are good. I'd stick to beer because their mixed drinks were not that great. Come with a group and you'll have fun. They even have volleyball you can play once you're feeling nice and light ;)

Nope.

Worst chicken wings ever!!! Also, food must sit under heat lamps. The only reason I put one star is for the location...

I went here when it first opened and it was a happening place, the drinks are overpriced, the food is horrible, and the service even worse. They have now tried to turn this once great place into a family friendly environment with the same horrible food and service, and over priced drinks! I wouldn't waste my time going here, there are much better places on the water to eat with a great view, food, and service, not to mention how overpriced it is! Do not waste your time or money, I know I will never go there again! What a waste! Local, Chris

This place is great except for the service . If your not sitting right at the bar the waitresses just walk by you and never ask if you want anything. There pretty much useless. I have a picture of them standing right in front of me talking to people and they just keep ignoring us.

I got sick from their hambuger - classic food poisoning, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, etc for the whole next day. I called and the girl who answered the phone said 'Oh well, too bad.' And then she offered me a free hamburger! I'm never going back there again.

Tarpon Pointe Grill and Tiki Bar is a fun spot to grab food or drinks. First impression: I felt like we were at a tailgating party on the beach. Everyone was drinking beer and playing cornhole toss games on the sand. The crowd ranged from early 20s to late 50s. A young couple was gettting married in the back of the restaurant so we decided to grab a spot on the dock overlooking the river. Our waitress was really friendly and promptly served our drinks. The kitchen did forget our chicken wings so our waitress brought the wings with our meal and had her manager comp the wings on our bill. The salads were surprisingly great. I hardly ever order salads at bars, but I decided to try the steak salad and my mother-in-law had the pear and chicken salad. Both used very fresh, high quality ingredients. My father-in-law was a big fan of the wings and his blackened fish sandwich. My husband got a tasty Bloody Mary and the ahi tuna. Will definitely return!

After reading some yelp reviews I did not expect much. However, I could not be more impressed. We were not looking for a 5 star dinner; however, a place decent for kids and fun for adults is just fine. We got more. There was easy parking, fun activities, good food, good service, live music, and the location was amazing: right on the water, sand below our feat, really fun crowd of people ranging from families, bikers, singles, and everyone was very frendly. The beer was cold. Good times.

Great location and probably a better place for a beer and lunch than dinner. Sandwiches and wings are good, but dinner meals are overpriced for the quality. Place can drawl a rambunctious crowd after dark. Beautiful spot for a drink.

Good ambiance and view. Not very good food and a bit overpriced. Dry overcooked buffalo wings. Wilted lettuce in my salad which I had to return. Grouper tasted fishy. Kids fries were soggy. I will not be back for anything other than beer.

We love this place. The drinks are always spot on. We have been there before and after the new menu. We tried a few things from the new menu and where disappointed. The steak Kabobs where not that great and the shrimp where cooked like chalk. They where sent back and redone and then they where rubbery. The Jack Burger to me is the BEST burger, and I highly recommend the fried pickles!! The service is GREAT! I will return again and again and just stick with the burger. But the view is fantastic, especially during sunset.

I love the idea of a fun place on the river. So I've been wanting to try this place out, even though I'm sure the food was going to be just ok and not really what I'm typically interested. But a burger and a beer sounded good last night so we went with some friends. The place was packed and the music in the Tiki bar part was very loud. Which i know is an attraction for some, but I do like to talk to the people I'm with and not shout at them. Anyways, it is good to see a newish place with lots of people especially on what has been historically a underused part of town. We got a table in the restaurant part. The servers were actually very good and attentive without being a pain and didn't push any BS things on us. The menu is about what you expect, Bar food, $10 burgers and things like that. The beer list is typical distributor types with nothing remarkable. Between the four of us we got 3 burgers, a fish sandwich, and come calamari. The squid was sort of a greasy mess and there was no way I was going to put it in what looked like a combination of tarter sauce and ranch dressing. We left about 1/4 of it on the plate, with four of us eating it, that shouldn't happen if it is good. Won't be having that again. My burger was good, medium rare like I ordered it, a good standard decent burger, but it should be for $10. Fries were really salty, which might be good in the summer when you are craving salt in the sweat box of Florida. The blackened "Caribbean" fish sandwich was problematic. The wish was nice and moist and cooked fine, but the blackending was more like they pass the bottle of spice over the fish and some sort of landed on it. Not really blacked or spicy at all. Other burgers were cooked the way they were ordered and everyone enjoyed them. So kind of a mixed bag. Neat to be on the water. But that will only take you so far. I admit this type of food is not really what I hunger for anymore, but if you are going to cook bar food and Caribbean type fare, do it well, as I've had better. To be honest the only reason they don't have two stars was the service was good and I enjoyed my burger.

Went for the first time a couple weeks ago. Had family in town and was looking for a place to eat outside that was fun. This is the best of both worlds. No walls but a roof so everyone was happy. Food was very good and the bar was great. Service was very nice. Would recommend as a fun place to go. Not to bad to have the water right there either.

They have been open a month and are still working out kinks, however the atmosphere is great. The menu was dramatically smaller than what was online, dropped to mostly sandwiches & appetizers with a few entrees. They said they modified it to expedite service. The food was solid, we were all happy with our meals & service was decent.Parking is an issue that and unless they address it, the valet is definitely the best option. If you park on the sea wall, you risk being towed. The atmosphere was unique to the area and the sand gives you a very beachy feel while still in town and just on the river. It's very casual & beach party'ish with ;lots of swimsuits and beach cover ups. They also have live music (at least on the weekend).

UNBELIEVABLE VIEW. We were seated promptly. The service was on point. I ordered the Jack Burger and sweet potato fries and dragonfruit mojito, which i didn't enjoy so much because it tasted like flavored water. The well-done burger was delicious though. The weather was prefect--it was a hot day but we sat in the shade and there was a perfect breeze. It was a very enjoyable dining experience for lunch.

Food was pretty good. The pulled pork sandwich was on point. The menu is a little smaller than what I expected, but they cover most bases. Would be nice to see them serve fresh local caught fish though. As far as atmosphere goes, its got a great location right off of the river. Love that you can play volleyball or cornhole, makes for a great place to hang with friends, have a few drinks and share some laughs. The service was good as well, very attentive.

This is your typical Florida tiki bar/restaurant. Amazing bar and atmosphere but the food is mediocre at best. If you want ambiance and the tropical Florida feel this is the place for you. If you want real, great tasting seafood I would go elsewhere. I haven't had anything terrible, but also haven't had anything great. Prices are pretty steep for the quality of food but that's what you get at most restaurants like this. If you want fresh, local seafood, look up starfish company restaurant.

Guys night out last friday so we decided and try Tarpon Pointe out. Our goal, be with a fun crowd and find someone our single friend can flirt with. What we found was an older crowd of career partiers, not what we were expecting to find based on what we'd been told by friends. When we asked an employee, he said "we used to have a good mix of people but not anymore". The real nail in the coffin for us: Several kids and drunk people at a tiki bar made all five of us very uncomfortable. Maybe because four of the five of us are parents. It's a shame because the location is good, right on the bay.

Great place to hang out with a group, listen to music, have a few beers, play some volleyball andhave a sandwich. Not a deep menu, bar grub, well done. I agree teh menu was a little light on the local seafood, however last night was a grouper sandwich , three ways. So it appears the additions are in progress.

Cool place to hang out, listen to, and enjoy the music while still being able to carrying on a conversation, etc. BUT don't order food! I placed an order for their calamari bites, $5 according to the menu standing on the bar. They were greasy and the dipping sauce tasted like nothing more than ketchup. When it came time to pay they informed me my calamari and Coke came to $13! Apparently it was no longer Happy Hour. I was told I received a larger portion, the dinner size portion. I payed my bill and it wasn't till on the drive home I became upset because it was then that I realized if I had just payed for a dinner then it would have been nice if it had come with a side of something, ANYTHING! It was nothing more than a small ( let me emphasize SMALL ) portion of greasy, tasteless calamari with a side of doctored ketchup. I'd say go for the drinks but I don't drink so I'm not sure how they are, but I can tell you that while my friend and I sat at the bar we watched a bartender wipe his sweat covered brow with his hands and then proceed to stick his hand into a cup of sliced limes, squeeze a lime into a cup and prepare some poor soles drink! WOW! I'm beginning to wonder if this truly is a "cool place to hang out".

The bad: calamari under cooked twice and the cooks think this is how 'some people' like the calamari. Fish sandwich was undercooked. Hair on the French fries. A plastic label was mixed inside the cole slaw. There used to be a chef that was in charge of the kitchen but not any more. After this I would NEVER EVER EAT the food. They were apologetic but I have major concerns for quality control of the food leaving the kitchen. The good: the view is amazing. The place can be breezy and enjoyable. There is live music which wasn't bad at all in the main dining area. The service was great and you know this was a train wreck that would never end for the poor server.

Great location on the water. Fun, energetic atmosphere, good service. A small step above traditional bar food. Good fish and ckn sammys. Nice size burgers though others have had some inconsistency in having them cooked to their request. Med rare- came out bleeding, medium- resembled a topsider. All in all, fun outdoor place that is DOG FRIENDLY as long as you sit outside. Two paws up. Oh yea, killer bloody mary!!!

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My partner and 5 other friends arrived before 6 PM, and I joined them at 7 PM tonight. When I got there, everyone at the table was complaining about the food (overcooked hamburgers and cold fries). I stayed only because my partner had placed an order for a hamburger for me a few minutes before I got there. The order was supposedly placed by the server before 7 PM. At 8 PM, I still had no meal. I kept asking where the food was, and I was told the kitchen was slammed. An hour's wait for a hamburger is ridiculous no matter how slammed the kitchen is. The server kept apologizing, but at some point saying you're sorry is no longer is sufficient. I'll give the manager credit for taking the food charges off our bills, but we still paid for drinks. A little after 8 PM, I gave up on the hamburger and went somewhere else to eat. Needless-to-say, I will never go back there, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to even my worst enemies.

I'd give them a higher rating - however, we were seated and then waited way too long to be attended to. I'm not sure if the hostess (S....) neglected to notify our server or what the mixup was. Clearly S.... did not want to be at work this afternoon! We had to tap the waitress on another table and asked her to get our server. Our waitress - Alyssa, took great care of us . We ordered the pulled pork, Teri chix wings and red beans and rice - all very tasty and filling !

You go to this place for the beautiful location and drinks. Food is OK. Nothing special. Salads are decent as are the burgers. The tiki bar is great and the live music rocks. Great location. Food is just ok. Seems like every place on the water has one thing in common. Mediocre food. The one thing that's really good here are the loaded waffle fries. Grouper sandwich is pricey for the portion. Salads are just so so. Go for drinks and the views.

Good place to get some beers with friends. Great views of the river and wildlife. If you are going to order food, I would recommend to stick with the basics. Their cuban sandwich is pretty good. Their mixed drinks are a little pricy, but overall I think this is a good place by Bradenton standards.

  • Lomond R.

Grouper sandwich was really good! Black and blue burger yummy! They make their own chips which are crunchy and good, their fries are seasoned really well too! Nice view overlooking the river, the tiki bar atmosphere is fun and lively!

First things first, the location is fantastic. Bradenton really needed something on the beach and Tarpon Pointe Grill is in a great spot. They have two tiki bars a volleyball net and cornhole. They definitely did a good job of finding the perfect location to build this restaurant. Now on to the bad. The location is great but trying to find exactly how to get there can be tricky. We went on a Friday night and the parking sucks! They do offer free valet which is a plus. They have a full bar and if I was ever to go back to Tarpon Pointe Grill I would only go for drinks. The food sucked! We ordered the smoked fish spread as an app and it really didn't taste like much. The people i was with had one bite and then didn't eat anymore of it. For our dinner we got a hamburger, french dip and the fish and chips. The burger and french dip didn't get finished because they just weren't good. The gentleman that had the fish and chips said it was okay and ate his entire meal. The tap beer was good but it wasn't cold enough. We ended up switching to bottles. I would say go to Tarpon Pointe Grill if you are looking for a fun place to have a few drinks with friends. The view really is awesome but get food before you show up as it is not worth the money.

Good times.

Music is great, drinks are well made also. Beautiful setting on the water

I can't give this place a 5. The food is not good. The location is great. Fun place to hang out. Appetizers are edible. Good live music and great atmosphere.

Cool atmosphere! Probably the most disgusting food I have eaten. How do you mess up nachos? Rather have eaten Taco Bell nachos for $3.

Going on a weekend night is a blast. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. A must try for natives and visitors.

Split plate charge for ordering a sandwich at the bar. Ridiculous! Food mediocre. view great. just go for a beer or drink and enjoy the view. Should not charge a split plate for sandwich at bar.....next they will charging for the view.

They also have live music (at least on the weekend).

the prices are a bit high and we waited an hour for our food, but besides that the service was good, friendly environment and beautiful location.
