Surprise! Surprise! What an awesome find. Reminded me of up north. Nice new and clean. The service was lacking for sure and at one point I felt like it was on purpose being that there was no other color in the entire place! A bit pricey! Actually very pricey! Best part was the food truck which served cheese steaks with wiz on an amoroso roll! (Again pricey) Being from Philly it was as legit as legit can be if your not in the city of brotherly love.

This could be 5 stars if they could figure out the service. 5 people or 100 people, the service is slow. And they don't seem to care if you get served or not. A real shame because they have some super beers.

Thanks to Denise, Ed, Terry, Drew, Cassie any everyone else that made me feel very welcome. Great beer, great service, great fun. Can't wait to visit again when I'm in town.

Finally a nice bar in Bradenton! Thanks for bringing craft beer to the suncoast. Love the outside area, couldn't have asked for anything better.

Sitting outside was great. Attentive staff with tablet style tech to take your order and payment. The beers I tried from their in house line of beers were tasty. Wide selection of beers form all over. Food from a food truck is a great idea! Went the night they had a BBQ truck - the pulled pork sandwich rocked.

Beer Garden is pretty awesome, but the owners are not the nicest. Had a fundraiser there and they told us they would give us a keg to sell(which they didn't), everyone was spending a buttload of money on beer and people in my party who were working the event couldn't get a sweet tea refill for free? I mean really? Haven't been back since which is sad because I am a craft beer guy and they have a great selection.

Excellent service, knowledgable bartenders and wide selection of draft beers. I highly recommend this place! They even have a decent selection of gluten free beers and ciders. 5 stars!! :-)

Cool beer garden. I'm not a big beer fan but know enough, I tried their Indy IPA and it wasn't anything special. Staff was not attentive, had to wonder around to find out where to sit. They gave me a five-page drink menu and seemed annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted to drink after sitting for about 90 seconds. Waitress then pointed to the food truck in the corner if we were hungry, then left. In the end, my first date night with my husband in 3 months- we would have been better off shopping in the craft beer aisle at the liquor store and watched a movie in our air-conditioned living room.

3rd visit. Beer and service have gotten much better!!!! Stills little work to be done, but Motorworks is starting to truly Excel!

  • LA A.

Let's face it - their beers sucks. I've never heard a person say they really like it. And stupid expensive to boot. And any local bars/restrauant you see that has it never seeks to keep it on tap after the first keg. Place has potential but it's just they really need to change their beer process. Try Darwin down the street for beer that actually tastes decent.

Great beer and close to Mackecknie field. Only issue is limited food in the afternoon.

Terrible service, no management, waitress didn't even approach table. Very dirty as well.

Great place with great beer and great service! The beer garden is outstanding! When I have friends visit from out of town I am always sure to bring them to Motorworks!

Surprised a place like this was in Bradenton. Good beer, although pretty pricey. The patio is what gives it the four stars instead of three. Very very spacious, has a big, cool tree in the middle which offers plenty of shade, and a projected screen showing up huge on the side of the building. Like I said, the beer was tasty, but definitely overpriced. Service was only average and I didn't try the food (which was also pricey) so I can't comment on that. But it's a pretty cool place and I'd certainly go back if I'm ever in Bradenton again.

  • Brittany H.

Great place! There's always a variety of beers on tap and bottled. The bar tenders are great (and patient) at recommending something to appease everyone in your group. I love that they have different food trucks, depending on the day of the week, which even include some of my favorite local restaurants. It's a family friendly atmosphere suitable for day time and night time fun!

I've been holding out going here until they started serving their own beer. Finally they have! Just 4 or so, but enough to give it a try. Liked their porter. Nice dark and rich. We also tried the whiskey smoke. Not typically a big fan of these, something "aged" in whiskey barrels, but this was nice and not too much of a kick in the pants. Thought about having their IPA, but the porter was calling my me, so I had another. A decent list of other beers, but more interested in seeing what they develop of their own. The beer garden is nice and on a pleasant day it is pretty nice. reminded me of some of the microbrew places I used to frequent out west. Food is run out of a truck. Which is fine. Might be nice to rotate through other trucks from time to time but the beef and chicken sliders were good. The chicken way better than I expected. The pulled pork was just so so. We got the "sampler" which is 6 sliders and fries or onion rings. more than we usually eat but I'm sure the 20 year olds will think it is small. Not sure about the price of the sliders, 2 for $7 but they were good. Probably the oddest thing was how many servers were trying to slyly take a hit off their e-cigs as they tried to make sure the boss wasn't looking. lol. I'll be back but might wait to see more beer go into production before then.

Great place to hang out with a group. Wonderful outdoor area with corn hole games and sometimes on the weekends they have music outside. Great beer selection. They don't do food but sometimes have food trucks or groups in to serve food. You can bring in or order pizza delivery.

  • Rebekah T.

The brewery has a cool vibe. I'm sure the beer is good but the customer service was horrible. The server couldn't take our beer order even though he was at our table because he "had three other tables". Sorry, dude, that's your job. Too bad because we were getting ready to order a lot more beer. Pretty lame If you can't handle 4 tables on a Tuesday night.

Their in house brews were good and the staff were very friendly. I especially enjoyed the Red Ale. My dad and I showed up to the bar a little hungry, and the food was really disappointing. I ordered a special dish, pulled pork over rice and beans for $7. My father got essentially the same thing, but a different item on the menu, for $9. His plate was more than twice the size of mine. Huh? The pulled pork was decent, but it was served on cheapo disposable styrofoam dishes, so ghetto.. the rice was poorly cooked, and there was too much of it proportionate to the good stuff. Then there were the chicken wings, we ordered as an appetizer. They came out 15 minutes after we finished our main course, and were not carefully tossed. The sauce was good, the chicken wings were cooked well too, but less than half of the sauce made it onto the wings. It was really close to being a really good experience, i think they just need to up their game in the kitchen. TLDR; in house brewed beer was awesome, the staff was super friendly, don't eat there though

We always try and track down local breweries while traveling and discovered this one on our latest trip to Bradenton. Huge outdoor beer garden! We stopped in late one afternoon and they had just finished an event in the beer garden, but we were still able to grab a table. Service was prompt and friendly. My husband and I shared a flight and thought the beers were good, but nothing stood out as a wow. We had the kids with us and they ordered kiddie cocktails which were massive. Our server stopped by regularly to refill their glasses as well - impressive. We didn't stay long, but would definitely stop back sans kids for an evening out when we are in town.

  • Reece A.

Ok, so I won't claim to be a beer expert. However, I tried 5-6 of their house drafts. I can honestly say I enjoyed drinking 0. It seemed to me that they just throw whatever ingredients/flavors into a barrel and sell what ever the result. While the beer had tons of flavors, I did not once think to myself. DAMN, I need another one of these, in fact it became, "oh god, please tell there is something better." This beer is just bad. I will give them one star with confidence because the beer garden was spectacular. Plenty of sitting and activities that could easily take your mind off the bad beer.

Although the place is dressed nicely, the venue treats musicians like crap. No pay auditions, double booking, killing a performance. Over and over again I hear horror stories of how they have been treated. I, being a musician myself will not tolerate, or participate in such treatment. I am a small business supporter, not a small bully supporter.

I love Motorworks! A brewery in the downtown area is exactly what Bradenton needed. It's perfect for the younger crowd and even my parents enjoy hanging out there too! The outside area is so pretty, from the huge tree lit by strung lights to the cornhole games set up to play with friends while drinking. There's often live music and it's dog-friendly (inside and out)! The huge deck outside is great to hang out and watch a game on their huge projector. The building itself is pretty with all of the old brick. Service is great and beer is better. Highly recommend!

In town and invited here, really cool place. Rainy corn hole was fun but my comment here must mostly consist of how rare and amazing our waitress, Bethany, was with her attentiveness and consistency in taking care of our needs. She is charming and a great asset to Motorworks!! Best service I have had in a good long time, thank you Bethany!!

Great last stop on the brew bus, I would definitely come back. I loved everything about it. The service was great, everyone was very attentive. We walked outside to get a bite to eat and we had two servers come up to us and tell us we could have a seat and they would take our order. We definitely need a place like this in St. Pete. We have really good brewery's but this one had all the elements, great service, good food, good beers and great ambiance. We ordered a porter and wheat beer , when we received our beers they also served freshly pooped popcorn. Tasty beers with buttery popcorn, how can you go wrong...yum For lunch we ordered port sliders, onion rings and sweet potato puffs. All of our food was good but the sweet potatoes were a little too sweet but nothing a little ketchup couldn't cure. Looking forward to checking this place out at night and trying a few other beers.

This place is virtually everything I would want and could imagine in a brewery. Some friends and I decided to venture down to Bradenton to check out a new brewery, and this is where we opted to go. Motorworks offers a wide variety of craft beer on tap, both their own creations and those of other breweries. It is a large space with lots of TVs, and a huge outdoor area to boot. Outside, they have a ton of games including corn hole, bocce ball (I think), and a little putting green. They also have a bunch of tables and chairs set up on the deck near the games and underneath a huge tree so people can enjoy the Florida sun while sipping on a cold one. I only deducted a star because they do not offer any food of their own. They do have food trucks (it sounds like they rotate trucks) and you can order food from said food truck off a menu at your table, but the food took a while to come and there was some initial confusion over which food truck was actually there that day. Other than that, this place is pretty stellar.

Motorworks definitely exceeded my expectation! I had heard the name before but didn't know what it would be like. First of all, it's laid out so beautifully. The inside has a long bar, a big screen where they are projecting the football game, and some bar games. We sat outside on the porch which is huge! It's built around a big, old oak tree and around the porch there are greens for bocce ball, cornhole, and a few mini golf putting holes (I think). There's also another big screen outside so I imagine they have movie nights or maybe sunday night football games playing sometimes. We both ordered flights of Motorworks beers and there were some great ones! I definitely suggest the blond ale. Really flavorful and crisp for a blond. The pumpkin beer was rimmed with cinnamon sugar and was absolutely delicious. There was a food truck there which is there regularly and I ordered chicken wings with wah-sum sauce (their homemade barbecue) and my dad ordered the chicken sliders. Phenominal. Overall, great first experience of Motorworks and I can't wait to go back!

Wow! That's the first thought that entered my mind after figuring out where the overflow parking was for Motorworks (it's directly across the street, and you definitely need it). This place is huge compared to most breweries and in addition to an entire row of 30 taps, most of which are their own brews, they have a full bar and there is food available from nearby restaurants and food trucks. Keep in mind that this is not food FROM Motorworks, so it might take a little longer to get and it's best to order right when you're starting to get hungry rather than after you are hungry. If the staff isn't too slammed they will usually explain this to you though. Our bartender Jake was a pleasure to talk to when he had a moment to breath among all the orders he was filling. The flights are perfectly priced at $2 per and you can get 4-6 glasses depending on how much sampling you want to do. Motorworks has a lot of unique flavors in the very saturated beer market that Florida has become, so it was enjoyable to try some new ones like kumquat and lavender, both of which are wonderful. But they still keep a little of something for everyone including kolsches different varieties of hops and heavier coffee porters. I've seen from their site and driving by that their beer garden is huge, but after visiting twice I still have yet to see it. I'm sure based on the descriptions it's really great though, and they host a lot of interesting sounding events like dog and movie nights. Definitely a place you need to check out if you're brewery hopping around Florida, or if you live in Sarasota/Bradenton.

TONS of marketing effort bringing people in before and after spring training games. ZERO delivery. We waited for 20+ minutes, seated at the bar, and no one even TALKED to us. It was a struggle for the bartenders (6-7 different people) to not make eye contact, seeing as we were sitting between the cash drawer and the taps. I said "Hi," to 2 staff members only to be ignored. Literally, I said hi, they looked at me, then turned around and walked away. Nice environment, great patio, appreciate the self-serve popcorn, atrocious service and we'll never go back. Luckily the stadium itself has GREAT beer options, even microbrews from Hawaii and Pittsburgh.

If I could give 10 stars to the brewery interior and exterior I would. The beer itself is 4 star worthy, and sadly, the price is more like 2 star worthy. Stopped by on a trip to Anna Maria Island for some beers and was blown away by the brewery. The main room is massive with lots of space at the bar and a bunch of different style tables and couches. The whole place has a really modern industrial feel with dimmed light, exposed ac and cement flooring. We sat at the bar and ordered a flight. The nitro is great and was my favorite of the night. Everything we tasted was at least decent with the worst being the kolsch. Tried the Amber, the IBA, the Enduro, and the IPA with the Motorworks IBA being the second best of the lot. Motorworks does have food, but we ate beforehand. Though it's a small detail, the beer is overpriced. MW is putting out some good stuff, but even Cigar City doesn't have the audacity to charge over $5 for a pint of its own brew (neither does 3 Floyds which is a WAY bigger name in craft beer). So the pricing is kind of insulting, and as a new brewery, $4 pints would have gone a long way toward making me visit more often. Motorworks redeems itself mostly with its outdoor space. The beer garden is MASSIVE. A huge, lit tree anchors the center with lots of tables on a wooden deck above an artificial turf area with a huge setup of games. This area is perfect for some beers on a Florida night, and you could easily fit a large group outside. (Worth noting, we were there til around 10pm on a Saturday, and the place was pretty dead. I don't live in Bradenton, so I'm not sure if this was normal or not.) I liked this place, and I wanted to really love it. The pricing left kind of a bad taste in my mouth, and beyond the nitro, nothing MW is brewing yet is world class (tons of potential though). The guest draft list is extensive, but unsurprisingly, the pricing on those is ridiculous as well. This place is definitely worth a try though for the atmosphere it has managed to build. Random note: Everything is really nice, new and stylish with the exception being the hand dryers in the bathrooms. Literally, the worst things I've ever encountered. Not sure why, but I found this hysterical.

Visiting Bradenton area, looking for a sport bar type of place. Visited, looked nice so we came back to see Thanksgiving football. Only people in the place. The staff shared their turkey dinner with us. Made our day. The next time we visited on a Sunday, again for football, we sat down and weren't waited on. We were there for over an hour. My wife has multiple sclerosis and wheeling her wheelchair between the chairs and tables, I am sure that they noticed that we were in the brewery, but just chose to ignore us. It wasn't that busy. We left without being served or even noticed. Go figure.

Awesome atmosphere, outside under the oak tree or inside with tv's. Live music many nights a week. This place is a tremendous asset to downtown Bradenton. Motorworks has put Bradenton on the map for microbreweries. I especially enjoy their coffee porter. The traveling Kitchen is very accommodating with good tasting food, ask for Jimmy, he's the man. The owners of Motorworks have put in a lot of effort into this and it shows. Great place for great drinks and a great atmosphere.

Great in house beers and guest drafts. 3 nitro taps give extra beer variety. Outdoor beer garden makes place even better. Food is supplied from neighborhood restaurants & food trucks. Always changing so food ranges from mediocre & a little overpriced to creative & mouthwatering. Servers are always friendly & often knowledgeable about beer (Ed & Stephen are best!) If you're going to sit outside, grab some free popcorn & wait or just grab somebody if you're impatient!

Unreal craft beer selection and excellent in house brews!! The beer garden is unparalleled!!! This joint is sure to be the hottest spot around this area!!

  • Mitchell P.

Such a hard review to write because I came here for dinner. This place has awesome decor, it is spotlessly clean, and their beers are legit. The Indian Brown Ale is in a class by itself, great malt with enough hops to balance, but doesn't taste like hops juice. I would drink beer here any time. Food? Not so much. The kitchen is slow, took forever to get a grilled cheese sandwich, it was served in a styrofoam tray. They should either close the kitchen and go beer-only, or get serious about the kitchen. But the beer? Worth it.

    (3)
  • Joel P.

Still a great place to go for beers but I cut it back to 4 stars because it is more of a stellar bar than a brewery. I went back expecting to see them slowly phase away the guest taps with more of their own brews but negative. The creativity and change has seemed to over look their own brews. Still one of the best bars in Bradenton.

    (4)
  • David S.

Got there when it was maybe 50% full on a Saturday. Took over 2 hours to receive 2 beers, a beer flight sampler, and 3 appetizers. Won't be going back...

    (2)
  • Nancy V.

Had a wonderful time checking out the brews! Even though the weather wasn't warm enough to hang outside, I'd go back to enjoy the beer garden ! The beer selection was eclectic and excellent. If your in Bradenton, you gotta stop, Tampa Area. Worth the drive.

  • Michaela L.

The service is what stood out here the most. Everyone was so nice. Our waitress Julissa was excellent. The creme ale was very good and I would order it again. I like going to different breweries around the state and the prices were pretty standard. I really liked how many other guest beers they had on draft and that they have a full liqueur bar. We had just eaten so we didn't try the food truck but all of the food looked delicious. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

What shitty douchey service. Horrible service from a dead bar with servers standing around comparing tattoos. Someone should inform these hipsters they work for tips.

Motorworks has a beautiful facade. I had been wanting to try this place out for quite sometime but was unsure as it is about a 40 min drive from my home. I noticed that two local bands were set play there on a Friday night and gathered two car groups of friends to hit it up. Like my opening statement notes, the place is a beautiful. The outside is rustic, and the indoor bar area is a new, clean and modern. The outdoor beer garden looked like a gem with tons of fun games. But, like the old motorcycle saying goes, "Chrome wont get you home." The wait for a beer at the bar was long to say the least, the alcohol pours were minimal at best. I attempted to order food from the parked food truck while playing bocce ball and was verbally assaulted by a waitress who told me to sit down and she will find someone to help me. The music started and the house PA was lacking, they should also invest in some sound panels as the concrete on concrete destroyed all sense of tone. I later heard that the owner pulled the plug on the bands like I have heard they have done to other bands in the past. Essentially shutting down the music we traveled and shilled out 7 dollars a beer to see. It will be awhile before I try it again. They should hire proper engagement and set up a real system for ordering.

Poor service. Overpriced bar. The atmosphere is uncomfortable for a brewery - it seems more like a bro bar.

We were in the area doing some outlet shopping and I explained to my girlfriend that if I did not have a cold beer after a day of trudging through store after store, then I could not be held responsible for my actions. After a quick search and fairly short drive we arrived at Motorworks Brewing. The place was very nice and the staff extremely pleasant. They had a nice mix of beers brewed on site and guest taps. I tried a few of their brews and the Motorworks porter probably ranks as my favorite. I am not from the area but I would be extremely likely to come back if I am ever forced to endure outlet shopping again.

Love the atmosphere! The food is good, not amazing but the atmosphere in the beer garden and the amazing selection of beer for the area make this place a home run.

This is hands down the coolest place to go to in Bradenton! I will admit I was a bit thrown off by where my friends were taking me when we pulled into the parking lot. But after stepping into the building I felt like I was no longer in Bradenton but in a swanky bar. It has a feeling of laid back and cool at the same time. You walk in and the popcorn machine is there for anyone to help themselves. The bar is a great place to hang out. The inside seating is very modern and yet retro. You can play pool inside or some games outside if you want. Outside is a big beautiful tree with a wooden patio around it that has seating for groups, a few friends, or couples. There is also an area for corn hole. You can also play put put out there. Sometimes they project movies into the side of the building. They do not serve food here. But they have food trucks park out back and you ca. Help yourself. Overall this place is amazing! I love it. Oh yeah- you should go!

  • Dan A.

Motorworks is great! They have an amazing selection of guest taps and bottles but what really impressed me was how good the beer they brew is! Not to mention the immaculate ambiance, boasting a beer garden with bocci ball, corn hole, putting greens, and a movie theater style projector system, I would say this place is a must for anyone in the bradenton area.

  • Bianca C.

Gorgeous atmosphere, TERRIBLE service. We walked in to a mediocre crowd, maybe 8-10 bar guests and didn't get eye contact with someone for 10 minutes. The bartenders just weren't aware of their surroundings at all. I'm a bartender and I know things can get crazy but a smile and some eye contact goes a long way. Finally got a beer and went outside and a cocktail server said "do you need a server!?" we said "oh no , we will just go up to the bar for refills" he said " THANK GOD" and looked overly busy and frantic. Cool place but they need to get some serious training in customer service. Meanwhile all the manager sees her frazzled staff and held up a row of about 15 drink tickets and said "is anyone gonna make these drinks!?" My first thought was...wow a bar owner that can't get her hands dirty. All she cared about was getting free popcorn out to people. Also this wasn't our first time. We've been plenty and it hasn't been any better then the time before. Hope they get some help because the atmosphere is a 10.

  • Carol U.

Been here a few times and enjoyed the beer and food. Not sure why people comment on it being pricey, we thought it was reasonable. The service is pretty good every time. Wish the food truck had a regular burger instead of sliders but what we have tried was a pleasant surprise. We are glad to have this place in town, especially with the outdoor seating. Fans would be helpful, even under the tree it can get hot so dress appropriately.

    (4)
  • David M.

Not quite sure what they're trying to be at this point. The bar has cool vibe, but the ambiance is ruined a bit with the movie theatre lobby smell of popcorn. As of February, they don't seem to sell food prepared on site. You can purchase food from a food-truck or a local Italian place will deliver. The outdoor area is very nice and will be awesome on summer evenings. They were not serving their own beer when we visited since that seems to still be under development. Our pints were in the $6-$8 range which is pretty pricy for Bradenton where many of the same beers can be had for half the price less than a mile away on Main Street. Hopefully, this will eventually mature to meet its full potential.

Great Beer, Great Atmosphere, Wish they did their own food. I like the growler but wish they had larger ones. I know the state outlaws 64oz I have one that's been empty forever because I can't get it filled. But they could have a 128oz. I'd buy it just to have more of their great beers at home.

  • Sarah C.

You go here for the beer and the awesome outside area. Service is pretty poor and food not awesome (food truck style), but the beer is yummy (I had the Vienna Lager and hubby had one of their IPAs), an you can't beat playing bocce and corn hole while drinking, listening to music, and hanging with friends. Do not go expecting a restaurant type atmosphere or you will be disappointed. This place is for beer drinkers.

This place has all the ingredients for a stellar future. The physical space is terrific. Nods to the auto showroom that was once housed here are everywhere. The duct work looks like tail pipes, the fans are engine parts, the furniture looks like 40's showroom chairs, etc. The outside is fantastic. The tree is gorgeous, there is plenty of space and it will be a fun place to hang out after a baseball game down the block. Didn't try the food truck offerings because we arrived after already eating dinner at O'Bricks., but it looked good. Sliders and fries. The service was nonexistent...unless you went to the bartender. I'm not going to knock stars off until they have a chance to get the kinks out. Beer selection is great. We love WOB and because this place has such an appealing environment, we'll start coming here instead.....that is, if the service steps up. Otherwise, everything great about this place will not matter.... Nothing more frustrating than wanting a beer and not being able to order one.
