Wow. I'm so glad I can stop searching for the perfect Chinese place now. I had two conditions: good egg rolls like up north and a tasty won ton soup. They passed both with flying colors then I tried everything else. One of my favs is the shrimp egg foo young. And if you have room you must get the fried dumplings because they make them just right here!

I really wanted to like this place. It's close to my home and I love Chinese. I didn't want to believe all the negative reviews. But they were to sparring. This was horrible. My kung pao was so greasy I had to strain it. The only flavor it had was oil. The beef Lo mein was horrible. It smelled rancid. Flat out fishy. It was disgusting. I threw it all away. Wait until they get a new owner or something. I'm sorry, but apparently the owners don't care.

Ok, it's not gourmet by a long shot, but if you're looking for quick, decent Chinese food, China Wok does just fine. It's typical fast food Chinese. I stop in fairly often for a cheap lunch, and it's pretty tasty and consistent.

If I could give negative stars, I would....absolutely disgusting. To the point it was not even edible. I am one who will eat it even if it's not the most appealing thing around, but when I can't even swallow it, you know it's BAD. The Mushu pork looked like it was scraped from the bottom of the sink. The boneless ribs were under cooked. The chicken was rubbery....Totally, totally disgusting. Not sure how anyone eats here...clearly people without any taste buds!

I asked the lady at the counter (who seemed very unhappy and angry) if the "Lemon Chicken" was good. She said she'd never had it because she doesn't eat fried food. OK, so I try it. I get home after spending $13 and it's fried chicken with white rice, no sauce. They some how forgot the Lemon part of the Lemon Chicken. That's bad, but what's worse is the angry lady behind the counter. Somebody had left their purse. When they came back to get it, the angry woman muttered under her breath "Thanks for the tip." after they left. She was actually mad the person who left their purse behind hadn't tipped her for not stealing it (I guess). Screw the place. If you can't cook food the right way and you're angry at everybody....I don't want to give them my business. I see other people here talking about the "angry lady up front". If she hate the people she serves, don't make her do it. Spend your money somewhere else. I recommend China City Express. It's just south of intersection with SR-64 (Manatee Ave.) on US-41. Those people cook GOOD FOOD and they're VERY NICE!! They don't hate their customers. China City Express is glad you ate there and tells you so. I will NEVER go back to China Wok II, not in a million years.

THE WORST! Nothing is fresh. Wontons tasted at least a day old. The Shrimp with Chili Sauce was comprised of a bag of cooked frozen peas and carrots, a few onions and a tasteless sweet sauce. Lo Mein noodles were so pasty that they would have stuck together if not for the over abundance of oil. To add insult to injury they raised their prices. This is just one more bad Chinese restaurant to take off your list.

We've never had bad food or service. You need to remember that this is fast food. Great egg rolls, fried rice, and our favorite is their honey chicken. Big portions and fresh. Great choice for a night when you don't want to cook!

Love this place! Vegetarian Friendly! I always order their vegetable lo mein and its always delicious! My fiance loves their chicken dishes too. Very quick service. The girl at the front desk is very nice and helpful, and I like that she speaks fluent English.

1 star for their pork fried rice 1 star for lunch specials that have dinner proportions 1 star for egg drop soup (not the best though) Minus 1 star for the rudeness of the lady up front. She needs to learn how to speak to people in a profession manner & she tries to jip everyone of their soda when you order the lunch special you gotta remind her that her special comes with soda... 3 stars - 1star = 2 stars max.

I should have known that this place was not going to be good right from the start. The woman taking my order was not even paying attention to me. I could hear her talking to other people while taking my order. She never repeated my order and basically hung up on me while I was still speaking. My husband picked up our order and brought it home (barely five minutes away from the restaurant). None of the food was hot. It was warm at best. Only half of our order was right. I ordered a hot and spicy beef and we had no beef entrees in our order. I had ordered a cashew shrimp and we ended up getting some random shrimp dish that I don't even know what it was and a cashew chicken that we didn't order. They were offering a free order of cream cheese wontons for orders over $30 which I mentioned on the phone and did not receive. The only thing I can say is that the portions seemed pretty generous for the price but who really cares about that if it's not hot and not even what you ordered? We tried it because it was the closest Chinese restaurant to us but we will definitely not be trying it again.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
