When we visited the air condition was not working, and first I saw that as a problem. After tasting their coffee and food I forgot all about their AC not working and enjoyed myself. The service was fantastic and I can't wait to return! The best, best french toast I have ever tasted!!

Place looks very cute & had great reviews. But young man waiting in us seemed to rather be texting, was unfriendly and unprofessional. Sadly I left before trying the food.

A friend & I tried this delightful little cafe for the first time. The chai was delicious, pear salad refreshing & tasty, and the banana crepes had a beautiful presentation that delighted my eyes before it delighted my tastebuds. We will be back!!!

A great little French Cafe located in an out of the way corner of a center on Cortez Avenue. They have a great salad dressing made with light oil, juice and honey. Great sandwiches, crapes, quiche and a great pear walnut salad. The desserts and pastry are a must. Fill menu of speciality coffees. Lots of regulars always well treated! Recommend for linch. Also serves breakfast and dinner is served Tuesday and Friday.

Cafe Au Lait is a fantastic new breakfast and lunch spot. Only open for breakfast and lunch and serving French inspired American breakfasts, quiche, sandwiches, baked goods, and crepes. The customer service is impeccable, which will go over well with the generation of retired customers. The owner will usually stop by your table to welcome you, and she is great with remembering faces. The shop appears tiny from the outside, but there is plenty of seating inside. I am not a fan of American food, or French food for that matter. However, everything that I have touched at Cafe Au Lait has been totally satisfying and insanely delicious, for how simple each dish is. There is a homemade taste, like I can tell the fare was made with love. Even the butter tastes better than the stuff you get from the grocery store. The plate portions are smaller, as they would be in Europe, but in America we are served too much food anyways. When I eat here, I feel like I am eating healthier than if I went to a chain restaurant in the area, or even to the Panera down the street (where the are too large for lunch). Most, if not all, of the meals are served with your choice of side--- where you can choose a salad or chips. The salads are unique and delicious, so I recommend taking that route. I had the pear salad last time, and the pears are perfectly tender and sliced thin with attention to detail. The sweet and sour dressing is neutral and precisely paired to match with the ingredients. Get a slice of the cake, or buy a whole cake. Whether you are cake obsessed like me, cupcake obsessed, or just enjoy the good things is life--- the cake here is amazing and a must try. Cafe au Lait is located in the same plaza as my other favorite lunch spot, Thai Palace.I'm still waiting to try the crepes. The owner said that if I call ahead next time, she can make them with savory ingredients instead of sweet fruit fillings. Now, if they just served really strong Green Tea Lattes, I would be set.

So very happy that I found this little place... Excellent coffee and although a French café they made a very good cafe con leche! I also recommend the breakfast sandwich on fresh croissant and fresh fruit.

We just ate at Cafe au Lait after a two month hiatus away from FL and it was every bit as awesome as we remembered. Amazing coffee, delicious sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Please do yourself a huge favor and make a trip to this small cafe.

Yelp is so great. We rarely think about eating at places in strip malls, but this came up while searching for breakfast places in Bradenton. We loved this place. Clean, quiet, not crowded even on a Saturday morning. Service was excellent. Servers were gracious and friendly. Coffee was perfect. We all had crepes, which were good but not phenomenal. But we compare all crepe experiences with Paris, so there you go. Perfect way to kick off our spring break.

Was not impressed by anything ! Not bad food but not great either and prices are expensive for lunch with small portions !. They also have the most expensive chocolate croissant of the entire state at $4 each , does not even taste fresh , not sure they are homemade but I could be wrong! Don't waste your money there

This place is closed. Looks like it has a new owner and is renamed Cafe Fusion or similar, but not open yet.

A one-of-a-kind place with good food and great desserts. A little more expensive but I am willing to pay for food that is not the usual.

I ate lunch at Cafe Au Lait this past week after searching Yelp for a well-rated place. Yelp did not fail me, once again! Cafe Au Lait does not look like much from the street, as it is in a non-descript strip shopping center. Once I walked in, though, my opinion immediately changed. This is a cute, neighborhood spot, run by one of the most welcoming and hospitable restauranteurs I have encountered. They were serving a large party (maybe 2 dozen guests at one long table), but made sure my needs were met. The menu is lovely for a brunch or lunch. The waiter helped me choose because so many things sounded so good. I had the artichoke quiche with a side salad. The quiche was rich and delicious, with lots of artichoke. The crust was amazing! The salad was a nice mix of fresh greens, with tomato. I also had a cappuccino, which was very nice. The owner told me they use locally roasted coffee beans, which is a nice touch. The desserts looked incredible, but unfortunately I had "no room left" after eating the meal. I live over an hour away and was in the area for business, but I would actually consider returning there just for a lovely meal.

Great little café. Wouldn't know it from just driving by the strip mall. The owner (German) was super pleasant. Breakfast and lunch dishes were prepared quickly and all the food was excellent. Well cooked scrambled and fried eggs, crepes, and amazing bacon. Biggest cappuccino I've seen in a long time. All around great brunch.

My first trip here today. I saw it was a coffee place, I was running errands before work, and was going to run in like people do, get a coffee to go and run around like usual. I walked in, and the whole energy of the place and the people there brought my energy and stress level to this zen, happy space. Before I knew it, I was sitting in this lovely café having a caramel latte and bread pudding for a MEAL! They have a great and diverse menu, but in this spontaneous spirit of stopping for a minute and ENJOYING, I did just that. They explained all ingredients are locally sourced and all of their food is prepared fresh on site. The only think I did want to mention is it's a $10 minimum for debit/credit card purchases and I mention that only because I know my generation doesn't carry cash as often as we should. Can not WAIT for some coffee / lunch dates with girlfriends here. Super wonderful experience. May as well get your nails done at Royal Nails next door while you are here.

Just had lunch with a friend who is a frequent visitor so I was prepared to expect very tasty food and great food value. I was not disappointed. For 8.95 i had a delectable chicken salad sandwich on multigrain toast. The chicken salad was freshly made with multiple flavors of herbs and spices no longer found in most restaurants. What is really amazing though is that this comes with a side pear salad at no cost. Be sure to order this pear salad because it is exquisit with sliced pear, greens, raisin, walnuts, and a dressing that I would love to buy for home use. Then the friendly owner came over and greeted us. She cares about food and she cares about her staff and she cares about her customers. I look forward to dinner there since it is an expanded menu with many attractive possibilites.

Found this restaurant with a Bradsdeal discount coupon, glad we did. The freshist home cooked meals, cakes, pasta, creppes, salads, soups for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nothing is processed, out of a can, frozen or bought in bulk. You can taste it and the prices are low. When more people find out we'll have to wait for a table but it'll probably be worth it as long as it's not for parts of an hour. There's no other restaurant I know of to get this kind of food and service even at moderate or higher prices. They've moved accross the street in the strip mall across from aldi.
