Went there after walking around the mall for a while and it was the perfect escape from the crowd. My husband and I both had a glass of pinot noir ($3 after 5pm) paired with a platter of prosciutto and pecorino. I loved the bread served with the cheese! The outside seating area is very cozy and relaxed. Definitely will be back.

The selection of cheese here is amazing and some of the dishes and sandwiches sound really good. I have gotten some great food here and some terrible food. I order a chicken pesto sandwich and the chicken was like rubber. I could not even bite through it. I have had the pastrami and other sandwiches and they were good not great. I find this place a little expensive and not all that consistent.

Great place to have breakfast; however, the service is way bellow my expectation. I request bread with my smoked salmon and cheese. The waitress said that it was not included and that it had to charge for it. I said "sure, just bring it". When she broad the breakfast I asked for capers and she said "it was not included and that she had to charge me for it". Well, I was upset. Then, she broad the bread and I said "can I have some butter?" Guess what she said: "there is an extra charge for it!!! Nevertheless, the patio is really nice and they play jazz on the speakers. It is worth it to go there if you can handle the service.

Service poor. They cannot cut prosciutto. And even when u sit there n eat they serve drinks in plastic. Terrible. Service is important. If u want to be chic be it Hire happy people professional people. That love to work.

This is absolutely one of my favorite places to eat. Since I work nearby, I am a regular here. For lunch, you can have a soup or sandwich, and for dinner, a cheese course with wine. How can you go wrong? I love to check out the cheeses and try new ones! The create your own cheese course is great, I usually go with honey as the accompaniment. The potato soup is the best soup in my opinion, and I love the chicken salad sandwich!

Loveeee this place!!!! My husband and I usally go to this place in happy hour time. They had cheap good wine and expensive really good cheese.. Every cheese is really imported from Europe and the tasty is sooooo delicious. Located in a corner in Aventura Mall with double entrance from outdoor and indoor the mall. They have a little patio with amazing retro France style furniture. If you seat over there for a while with a glass of wine and a tasty of cheese you'll feel in Paris with their amazing music. They don't have a service you just order at the counter but the guys how work over there are amazing...

Cheese cheese cheese. Of course cheese is good here. I really enjoy their perfect pairing which includes a small salad and a delicious cheese sandwich or a soup and sandwich, for less than 10 dls. Most of the times I order tomato soup which is delicious and a grilled cheddar cheese sandwich. That is a perfect pairing for me. Yummy inexpensive place in Aventura mall.

Their tomato soup and cheese sandwich combo is perfection. If you want a yummy breakfast they're baguette with butter and preserves is delicious as is their coffee! Great spot for breakfast and lunch

This place is a joke. The idiot behind the counter doesn't understand shit. I wouldn't bother coming here unless you wanna be annoyed. It is expensive as well for what it is. They are also very slow and unorganized. I wish Paul would come back that was legit.

I would always walk by this place and like what i see, today decided to stop and eat. Upon entering i checked in and was surprised with a 20% off coupon on a soup sandwich combo. I was planning to get the combo anyway and the discount made it even better. I have been to panera a bunch of times and i like it so since this is similar i figured i would compare it to panera. It is pricier and the portions are smaller yet the food here is slightly better tasting. I had the tomato bisque with the aged English cheddar cheese. The sandwhich was served on a baguette as are the rest of the sandwiches in this place but the bread does not seem to taste as well as i thought it would. The wife said the mozzerrella tasted like queso blanco and it was not that good. My cheese was excellent and i couldnt complain about it. all in all it was an average meal that was a little over priced not sure if its the mall location boosting the price up but oh well.

I like this place for lunch. They have an exceptional number of cheeses and fresh sandwiches to choose from. They are a little overpriced on the cheese plates but I guess that is to be expected in a mall setting. Overall the food was good and I would return.

For a quick lunch at the Aventura Mall this place fits the bill. There is a nice selection of cold and hot sandwiches, salads, quiche, and obviously cheese. With salads you do have the choice to add add chicken breast, chicken salad, tuna salad, salmon, prosciutto, serrano, or pate for an additional price. I had the Black Forest Ham sandwich with brie and raspberry cranberry relish. The sandwich is small, but I thought it was good quality for the price of $8.90. I really like the location of the Cheese Course since it is off on the side of the mall and is not in the food court. This makes it more relaxing to eat at instead of the food court with a mass of people. There is some tables inside and outside as well. There also is a small selection of wine to purchase, a couple cookbooks, fondue pots, and various jars of products.

I was looking forward to trying this place and I wanted to like it but in my opinion... Needs new management. Service was slow and unfriendly and everything was dirty. Food was not worth going back.

New manager... BIG mistake!!!! Not only did he question me of what I ordered but he wasn't even right. Both our orders were wrong and the manager and the kitchen staff gave us a bad attitude. Hope they change the staff so I can go back, the sandwiches are really good!

Love this place! Perfect for a quick bite while at the mall shopping. I usually get the Italian Caprese - fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, fresh basil , pesto spread EVOO and balsamic vinegar. YUM! I also had the potato soup which was very very good. 5stars all around!

This wonderful little corner is located off the Aventura Mall between Nordstroms and JC Penny. One can enter from outside, just opposite the parking garage behind the Bank of America or from within the mall itself. They have a few tables outside which we passed up for no reason other than I really wanted to examine this sort of combination cheese shoppe and boutique restaurant. I loved the cases full of cheese labeled with lots of information about the where why and how etc. The menu is a bit confusing but on my second trip it was easier to understand. Twice I have tried their sandwiches and six cheese sampler plate which comes with assorted sides like black olive paste, fig spread, sun dried tomatoes and sweet red peppers. The large platter is covered with hunks of cheese (which were recommended by the very gentle manager. She gave an almost overload of information about each cheese, like it's country, region, habits in the mouth, boldness blah blah blah. I am a cheese nut and cheese knowledgeable but I found her patter very informative and she is as sweet as can be. The sandwiches are really super (small but absolutely delicious) and the cheeses first rate. I didn't think it was overly expensive but I read one re viewer's complaint about price. The tea, and bottled water is good as is the selection of sale items on the shelves around the seating area. They are on my list for lunch when I'm in the area. Back several times & I'm happy to report that it's getting even better. I reported my pleasure to Caesar, one of the principals and then tried their patio. I had a wonderful tomato bisque which carried a little zip in the aftertaste; refreshing and a creamy Roquefort with grapes. Now I'm stopping allthetime.

Great sandwiches, soups, salads and cheese plates! My fav is the chicken sandwich with Monterrey jack cheese! Winner! The broccoli soup is super yummy too! I love this place!

I come here a few times a week. I usually get the French Fields Salad, which is fresh greens with dried cranberries and fresh goat cheese, with a mustard vinegar dressing. A half order usually fills me up, and it also comes with a few pieces of bread. I usually don't care much for goat cheese, but theirs is super soft, creamy and full of flavor. I tried their grilled cheese, and I don't think I would order it again, but I wouldn't be mad if someone brought me one. I feel like their sandwiches are too small for the prices even though they do use quality ingredients. They aren't super filling and I feel guilty after eating them. I think I'll stick to their Salads.

I loved this place when it was at the Gulfstream, but was a bit disappointed with the new location at the Aventura Mall. The other location appeared more lush. I think the prices were the same, but the portions were significantly smaller. Although we were there when it was fairly empty, it took a while to get our food. The tropical ice tea was moved behind the counter, so I'm unsure if free refills are still available. The quality of the food was the same, but the service was mediocre at best.

What a nice surprise to find buried in Aventura mall! While I normally loathe this area, I have been going to this mall a lot, because it has some great deals and stores for business wear. I had finally lugged my mother with me once (she hates Aventura more than me!). We were headed to the Limited. She had said she wanted Auntie Annie's, but I told her to wait till we were done shopping. On our way back, out of the corner of our eye we see The Cheese Course!!! Man you can never go wrong with this place! While the set up is a little off, with half their tables awkwardly in the mall, half of them awkwardly in the small interior of the location, and some strewn outside, we decided to grab one out there. It was a nice day out and they have the outdoors area set up beautifully. The rest of the seating area, however, is hodgepodge and just awkward. The register is ON TOP of the kitchen and all of that is ON TOP of the drink and utensil area. VERY SMALL inside. They weren't busy at the time, but with just the staff and 3 customers trying to get around, it was tough. I decided to try their new grilled cheese sandwich with a half salad. Cesar was good, but not enough dressing. Grilled cheese was awesome! I got Brie and added bacon!!! If I may make a suggestion: Have the option to add prosciutto!!!!!!! That would have been phenomenal. Mom got her standard Southwest Chicken and it was awesome!!! As far as consistency, The Cheese Course is always SPOT on with their locations. I don't think this one has as much variety in terms of cheeses, but always a pleasant experience nonetheless! And all of their staff is incredibly nice and helpful!!! My only complaint about this location was the set up, and to be honest, the location in the mall. It is very much off the beaten path, around the corner from JC Penny. And while I love me some Pennies! I know some people steer clear of that store!

So far so good. First time here? Delicious sandwiches inexpensive. We had the prosciutto sandwich. OMG... It was amazing. Very fresh cheeses!

6/7/15 6:30 P.M. I live in Midtown and have been accustomed to how great our Cheese Course location is there... great food and amazing service. I asked for a Smoked North Atlantic Salmon salad (#28) with no cheese or onions and came loaded with onions. Food great as usual and staff was nice, not too big of a deal but because of how simple my request was, how empty the restaurant was and because of the usual high standard I notice in Midtown just had to make a mention of it and unfortunately rate it 2 stars...

When you first come in it's a cute little bistro style where you go and order and wait for them to bring your order. I tried the ITALIAN CAPRESE w/ Fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes, fresh basil, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, this was freshly made french bagette that was crisp and soft on the inside. If you love European cheeses and cold cuts this place is for you to enoy with a cup of coffee. Again you think you can eat half of the sandwhich but no the taste is so incredible that you will end up eating the whole thing with a smile. It's a cute hang out spot to just sit and chat and eat, love the ambiance of the full wooden family table and magazines on the side for diners to read while eating. Definitely going back to try their breakfast items and cheese samplers! This location is right next to JCPENNY"s so the parking is right next to you at the Aventura Mall.

It was three of us and we shared the prosciutto de parma and grilled chicken breast sandwich. We also had a cheese platter consisting of one goat cheese, two bries, and a blueberry cheese which were accompanied by a fig spread and apples (they have like 10 different accompaniments and you get to choose which you want). Everything was really tasty, the salty prosciutto complimented the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella wonderfully. The grilled chicken was moist and tender, I only wish there was more pesto and aoili flavor, it kinda got lost, but it was still very tasty. The cheeses were outstanding, both brie cheeses were soft, creamy and luscious. Yes I just described cheese as luscious. The goat cheese had a nice strong bite to it and the blueberry cheese was like eating cheesecake. My favorite had to be the brie cheeses with the fig jam, which was also really good too. Not to mention, all the breads were fresh! The person behind the counter was of the utmost help. She explained every cheese in detail, gave delicious recommendations and opinions, and even let us try a cheese that was just delivered that day. She was epitome of what customer service should be. I regret not getting her name because she should be acknowledged here. I really want to go back to try other cheeses and sandwiches. Although this one in Aventura is far from my home, I will definitely go to the other locations that are nearer to my house. Hopefully the customer service is just as great there as it was at the Aventura spot. This is a great spot for brunch or lunch!

Good value for the money. Sandwiches are properly stuffed with meats and cheeses. As opposed to Cavier and More where you get one thin slice in a sandwich. Both places are very good. But if you're hungry come here. The salads are awesome here also. A half Salad is even pretty big.

Better option that eating in the food court ! I was hungry for lunch but did not want to sit and wait to order. Walked up and within 5 minutes from ordering I had my food. Bread was fresh and the service was friendly. They even have tables outside that are covered but was a little to hot to eat outside today.

Everything I get here is amazing, though a little pricey. I recommend the loaded potato soup and the grilled chicken sandwich. They also have an amazing deals on assortment of cheeses that you can order to go for romantic date night or to take to a party!!

Delightful. What a wonderful place to grab a glass of wine and some cheese. My friend and I enjoyed a three cheese plate to share and a glass of wine on their outside patio a few weeks ago. I was very impressed with the knowledge of the cheesemonger. She allowed us to try several cheeses before selecting our final options. She provided some great suggestions and helped us create a balance plate with great accompaniments. We were also allowed to sample the wine before making our final choice. They even have cheese classes a couple times a month. I am going to a class in March; will update. Yummy!

No complaints here. I was very tired after working, then shopping all day. I told the person helping me exactly what I wanted. She wrapped it up quickly and with a smile. Nice selection of beverages and beer/ale/cider.

Anytime I see this place, my tummy makes funny noises, my heart pounds and I become very hungry. After enjoying their food for over 8 years, it's always like the first time, and well you know you never forget your first. It is love, pure sensory overload of delicious sandwiches, salads, wine, cheese and oh yeah more cheese. Walking through Aventura Mal, we were hungry for some lunch and voila there it was in the corner calling my name. I was so thrilled to see this location. It is much smaller than their usual locations but yet they still keep their consistency with having a beautiful patio area with all the green foliage. Obsessed is what I am when it comes to the number 15 sandwich. It comes on a baguette, grilled chicken breast with jalapeno Monterrey jack cheese, peppers and green pesto with lettuce. I also really love their Tuna but the number 15 literally should be named after me. From my estimate I have devoured more than I care to admit of this amazing sandwich. This is a perfect place to grab a quick lunch, dinner or snack. They have some great wines for very reasonably priced. They are more than happy to give you a sample to try before purchasing. Now if you are looking for some fabulous cheese, go no further. The staff is so knowledgeable. Don't forget to grab some Proscuitto, sliced the way it should be, grab some various cheese, and never ever forget to get a baguette. Many of nights we pick up some wonderful meats, cheese, baguettes and their amazing red and green pesto, olives and voila open a bottle of wine, and this is for me a perfect evening. I can and will never get tired of eating here. Truly one of my favorite places in all of South Florida. The staff are very friendly, prices reasonable, fresh delicious food.

A wonderful small place - as I am pregnant I couldn't try the cheeses, however I tasted the soup and the salmon sandwich - both delicious! A great quiet spot in the big busy mall. Perfect for lunch and for a pre-dinner European type snack!

Followed advice at got the southwest chicken breast sandwich and had no regrets. The fam got a cheese plate and the fig jam and black olive tapanade were spectacular. It's not a place for quantity, but quality was hard to beat.

Very good. i love their soup and sandwiches. Unfortunately their spot at the mall is well... at a mall.... I am not a mall person, I am more like a casino fan, so i liked the location at Gulftream better, but the food is great... How do mess up a cheese sandwich? Well i am sure someone out there can but not these folks. They serve their sandwiches on their brioche bread and they also sell cheese! I love love love their soup sandwich specials... enough for a taste but not so you want to take a nap afterwards... PARKING at JC PENNEY unless you like to walk the mall... well worth the trip :)

  • Uncle Chuck M.

Uncle Chuck here again with another Great Find in the Mall. New to a spot previously occupied by a French Bistro/Pastry Shop, The Cheese Course is an refreshing addition to the food quotient at the Mall. An excellent selection of Sandwiches, soups, quiches etc along with some exceptional cheese sampling offerings and some delightful wines to wash it all down then a fresh espresso with a lovely Biscotti button to top it all off. Dragon Lady had the Tuscan Roasted Veggie sandwich with Pecorino Toscana - even better than it sounds... "just Yummy" she declared, and I had the Prosciutto de Parma with outstanding Fresh Mozzarella on a fresh crusty baguette... Oh My!!!! And then there is the Cheese Shop portion with a top flight selection of gourmet cheeses and accessories. But the Best part was the Staff. Our server/Cashier/Purveyor of Happiness, Danielle, she of the most Sparkling of Personalities, made it a most memorable visit. If they gave ratings for Guest Satisfaction Skills Danielle gets an 11 on a 10 point scale. and her boss Karina also gets an 11, just for having the good sense to hire and train her. {also with a Delightful personality] Ya gotta stop by and sample a little bit of this... or a tidy taste of that... and maybe a nice glass of Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down...you are sure to be pleased beyond all expectations. Hopefully Danielle will be on that day...She most definitely has a "Passion For Excellence!!!"

Cheese Plate, Salumi Platter, a bottle of House Red. Buzzed, drunk and happy. I love that you can also sample the cheeses by the front. I left full and satiated.

I love Cheese Course so when I got the email that this new location was opening I had to venture to it. I have to say I wasn't impressed. The location is right by the JC Penny. What put me off is that it looks more like a food court place than an actual restaurant. Then the wine selection... Every other Cheese Course I have been to allows you to sample the wine before you buy the bottle. If they do not have an open bottle, they will open it just for you to sample it. When I asked the young girl if I could have a sample of the wine, she simply told me that there was only 3 wines open and those were the only ones we could sample. WHAT?! The cheese selection was also significantly less than the other locations. However, to their defense I went the first week they opened. I am hoping there will be more selections as they become more mature. But nevertheless, I will give it 4 stars for 2 reasons- 1- this location is conveniently close to me so I want people to go so that it will remain open and 2- the girl did let us sample the cheese before purchasing.

popped over to the Cheese Course yesterday in the Aventura mall for a business/pleasure lunch with a friend/colleague. I guess it's been a bit since i've hit up the CC, because i had forgotten how huge the plates were. Even withholding the bread, it wasn't necessary to get TWO full sales AND a plate of Chateurie (sp?) ... needless to say it was the awesome meats and accouterments that won us over. So delicious that we were compelled to go back up to get a couple glasses of red wine. The proscutto, sausages, conrnechions and olives were all great... basil paste and honey perfect additions. Though do plan to spend more than a few minutes there.... despite the staffs delightful attitude and cute "french" style, it wasn't' the quickest experience, but worth every minute and great value for the price. GO. :-)
