My husband and I went to La Estancia last Sunday and had a very bad experience. we are never coming back. The place was packed, confusing and very dirty. Service was extremely rude, never saw anything quite like it. Lots of itens on the menu were unavailable. We had to change our order 3 times. And due to the lack of certain types of empanada when I asked which empanadas were there, I got the response: "they are at the window, go see for yourselve". The food was poorly done. Steak was ok, but tasteless, fries were mushy, steamed vegetables were cold. Don't waste your time and money: go elsewhere.

I am writing this as I have wait for over 20 minutes for a chicken BLT sandwich. I had two empanadas. The spinach was delicious but the beef was disgusting, over loaded with salt. It had no flavor but salt. The whole ordering process is disorganized and unexplained to a guest. You spend more time figuring out how you're supposed to order food than anything else then you order your food and you have to go get your drink yourself then you have to go to another area and pay then you sit down and wait and wait and wait only to have a person deliver food to your table and ask you for your receipt that you were never told to keep handy. Great process! *sarcasm* Moral of the story, the food isn't bad but the management and service definitely is.

    Great empanadas!!

Great ambiance, fresh juice and pastries. A little pricey, but the quality is absolutely there. A fun place to shop and explore before or after you enjoy your meal. We definitely felt like we were in a local Argentinean restaurant as all the clientele seemed to be regulars. Would certainly go back.

I did it. I did it today. I drove. From downtown. To Aventura. For an empanada. Well, two empanadas. Worth it.

I was pretty excited reading all the reviews even used a groupon, however was a bit disappointed. I loved the atmosphere, it's really nice and homey. They seem to have a great selection of items. I didn't order anything from the bakery, but everything looked good!! First I ordered two empanadas 2.30$ I think each ( beef/chicken) really good, off to a good start, next 11$ caprese was good and fresh, my girlfriend ordered number s7 grilled chicken avocado sandwich 10$, no Bueno!!!! The chicken was dry, no avocados! So when we asked, "where were the avocados?", we were told the avocados weren't ripe, so they didn't put it in our sandwich, and the lady replied with, "didn't they tell you?". No they didn't tell us. Mean while we paid for a sandwich with avocado!!!!!! There was a plain grilled chicken sandwich On the menu I believe s2, why didn't they charge us for that and explain to us they don't have avocado when we ordered!! I ordered a steak with fries 14.50$ I think? Steak was ok, it was tender, the fries were actually the best part of the meal, they were fresh cut not from a frozen bag!!! One Argentina beer 4$, one diet coke 2.50$! Total came to 50$, they honored the groupon $30, rest came to 20$. All in all, it was mediocre, I wasn't really impressed neither was my girlfriend! I asked my girlfriend to send it back, but she's not the type! So I title this review, " dry chicken on the bun, no fun"!!!!!

Good authentic food. Nice place to go for empanadas, sandwiches or grilled meats. This place is getting better with their service. They moved drinks/beers near the cashier which makes things easier too.

Yum, everything here rocks! Tasty vacio, exquisite empanadas. Best Argentinian in the area by far.

My first experience w this place was quite delighful .A friend brought a dozen beef and chicken baked empanadas ofer as a sweet gesture. They came in a cute brown bakery box. They were flaky and and semi flavorful. The 2 nd experience - went in to restaurant. Very cute like a quaint Argentinean village. Lots of wine!!! They had a table tasting next to us. However other then the empanadas we had prior and the zucchini soup we did not like the food very much. The skirt steak was flavorless but looked good. Also I ordered a chicken sandwich that was again seasoned blandly and came with a tomato and lettuce when the menu said roasted peppers ect. Mushroom and cheese empanada way to rich. I also believe not the freshest . Very ehhhh. Sorry I wanted to like it. It's close by and so cute inside .

I came by this place yesterday on my way to school to pick up two empanadas. Sadly, what I thought would be a quick and delicious lunch, turned into a headache. I ordered two spinach empanadas (the little sign that said spinach only said spinach on the bottom, which means... there was nothing inside of the empanada other than spinach) therefore I ordered two to go. I paid, and went to my car and began to eat. To my surprise, the inside of the empanda didn't only have spinach, it had some other cheese gooey consistency inside. And in all honesty.. it did not smell good. It wasn't the fact that it had cheese (when the sign only said it had spinach) that bothered me, it was the fact that when I went back inside to see if I could get two other types of empanadas instead, the young man that took my order told me "well I can't change them for you" and looked away and took someone else's order. I pretty much stood there for 3 minutes being ignored until another girl came up to me and asked me if I had been helped. I told her what had happened, and although she wasn't nice about the situation, she took the two spinach empanadas and gave me two chicken ones instead and didn't even say you're welcome, when I thanked her. I don't care how great the empanadas, desserts, or pretty much anything else about this place are... If the service isn't great, all of those things get overlooked. I'm extremely disappointed about the lack of caring and understanding from the staff at this place. I come here twice a week and always get a sandwich or the special for lunch, but after this... I'm not even sure I want to go back.

When it comes to BBQ's I'm the grill master! This places has amazing quality when it comes to meat. I always tend to pick up a couple cuts along with their special charcoal for grilling. The short ribs here are the best looking in Miami!

I always go here when i need my fix of empanadas, or a piping hot cup of illy coffee. If im really hungry, the skirt steak is absolutely delicious! This place is a hidden gem

My go-to place. Good empanadas, good meats, good desserts! I've been here about 10 times already and it never fails me. Also, nice, helpful, and friendly staff and a fun environment (especially during an Argentina futbol match). Bring a jacket though, always seems to be cold in there.

Incredible Empanadas. Try the Caprese Epanada!! Take-out or done-in quick counter service with a liquor license to purchase and consume your vino in house.

While I have not been to this establishment as a restaurant, I became a fan over night when a buddy of mine came over with Argentinean meats for the grill. To say it created the afternoon would be an understatement; since that encounter I have been in at least half a dozen separate times to pick up some steaks, Chorizos and whatever else we are in the mood for that day. I keep hearing about how good the food is and It is no surprise to me at all since the place is always packed and the meat is the same meat I throw on the grill at least every other weekend. Parking is a bit tight, but once you find a spot, you won't be willing to let it go, this place is very addicting.

Yes! New fav for empanadas, orangina & espresso, wine- what more do you really need? Cafe atmosphere w good selection of Argentinian delicacies. Cleaner space and good people. Location seems a little inconvenient at first since its a stand alone building but when u get inside u see it keeps the area well for patrons.

The food was actually good. I'd give it 4 stars if the employee attitude hadn't been so bad. I came in with a party of five ready to spend money on a full dinner in a place which clients usually buy a few pastries for a few dollars. When I asked the employee whether he would mind coming to our table to write down our order so as not to have all five of us come up at once, he actually said "it will be the same whether you come here or I come there." When I politely asked again, he asked me to write down the order and bring it to him. I did so because we were already sitting down. When we went to pay, one of the other employees noticed we had had wine, and then asked for us to bring him the bottle, actually more like commanded us to bring him the bottle. Throughout various other communications with the employees, the sense of entitlement and condescension was palpable. The sense of arrogance in this place is amazing.

We used to go here once a week but sadly they have let their quality go downhill alot. The last few parrilladas were burnt and tasted like charcoal on the outside so we had to complain and send them back. On our last visit there they gave us a small parrilada for one person even though we ordered and were charged for a two-person parrillada. Be careful and double-check your orders carefully. BTW, there's another argentine restaurant in sunny isles with live music that you might want to consider.

The service was pretty bad. I walked in, asked for a Cappuccino which I got in a cheapy paper cup, and I said thanks to the girl who prepared my drink. She never replied "you are welcome" nor anything. It felt like she was doing me a favor by making me the coffee, what she doesn't know is that I am doing her the favor by being a loyal customer and returning to their business.

This place is a typical argentenian cafeteria, with a bakery, a deli and wine all around. Upon entering you can get a little confused as to how to get your food. The system here hasn't quite been perfected. My family and I ordered a dozen empanadas - which were fantastic, I recomend the chicken empanada as well as the cheese and onion one - and three pastries. The guy just gave us all the food and gave us this little ripped piece of paper saying what we ordered. So we sat down and ate our food and then payed, but we were suprised to see that this place relied on the honor system.

Good for a quick empanada. Perhaps some mojehas. Service is terrible. For some reason I keep going back for this one specific appetizer, although its always a mission, and the service ruins my whole experience everytime.

Empanadas are awesome, service is average, prices are a little high for certain items, cuts of meat to take home are very very good. Some good some bad, mostly good.

Great Argentinan place: empanadas, alfafores, matambre... The service is not great but if you haven't been in Argentina then, you have to realize that is the way argentinans are! Other than that there meat department is way over priced. I highly recommend LAA for coffee and pastry.

Amazing empanadas!!!! Awesome desserts. I've never eaten inside, I just take mine to go.

  • Vanessa H.

This place has all of the Argentinean staples you could ask for. Good coffee, empanadas, alfajores. The bakery has a huge selection of pastries and cookies to choose from. The best thing I've had here was the torta de coco y dulce de leche. Seriously deliciosa. They also have a great selection of argentinean cuts of meat, snacks, chocolates, wines, etc to choose from. Try the Don Satur Bizcochos Dulces (In a bag in the grocery section), yummy addictive little sweet and salty cookies. This is also a good place to buy frozen La Salteña empanada dough and make your own at home! Much cheaper that way.

My new go-to place for a quick breakfast. Great selection of delicious empanadas, their coffee is great, and I love their selection of sweets as well. It's a little bit overpriced for the type of food I think, but that's not a big surprise given the area. I've only gotten wine here once, but they also carry an impressive variety of wines and cheeses.

I came to this location after having been to the Coral Gables location - and surprisingly, I liked this location much more. The bakery is better stocked (they had the trufas and the balcarcé that was absent during my last visit to the Coral Gables location). Additionally, the market portion of the store is slightly bigger while the wine portion of the store is slightly smaller. Meat prices are very reasonable. Vastly greater variety of cups for yerba mate. And there were some more products I liked that I just did not see in the other store. There seems to be more tables for eating as well. The interior is clean, modern, and sleek - definitely cozy and not stuffy. Remember, while there are many Latin bakeries in Miami, many of them just are not up to par in quality. This one stands out of the pack.

Being invited for a barbecue, I stopped by this place and got a packaged piece of "picanha". Pricey, but I bought it anyway. When was time to cook (a couple of hours later) we opened the package and the meat was obviously past its validity. That thing was stinky. I immediately returned to the place and took the meat and its packaging. The butcher said he couldn't feel the bad smell that was impregnating the room. I just left the meat there, turn my back and left trying to not spoil the rest of my Sunday. Will never go back there to be robbed again.

I want to give this place a 4.5 because I love it that much. Whenever I'm craving empanadas, alfajores or just a great coffee I know exactly where to get my fix. I love the food, the atmosphere, and it's always busy so they must be doing something right!

This is the 3rd time my husband and I have been here and yes the empanadas are delicious, but the beer is lukewarm and the person that takes the order typically gets it wrong. On one of three occasions we waited 40 minutes for a cold vegetable sandwich. Today we received chicken instead of prosciutto on our sandwich. The order taker had no real interest in helping us as she carried on a conversation with her coworker.

Stopped by for lunch today with a few friends. We ordered the grilled sampler for one person ($18) to share, the guys also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich ($6.50) and their version of chicken parm (around $10)..the grilled sampler was plain with unflavored grilled beef, chicken, and sausage...I had to ask for the special cilantro sauce that I'm use to getting at Argentinian places, which made the food taste better...but it wasn't anything spectacular. Tried a few desserts that I do highly recommend though! Fresh macaroons and Spanish style cookies were soft, chocolately, and so delicious! Very neat place to encounter..they also have an area to buy fresh cut meats, chorizos, and cheese that I'll have to try next time! The wide wine selection is also a plus!

Good food but man is it OVER PRICED or what?!?! I came to eat with y daughter, I ordered 3 empanadas, 2 vigilants (pastries), One steak sandwich.... and no drinks... and the grand total was 23$?!?!?!?! Come on!! its a bakery for goodness' sake!

  • juan a.

It's neat to find as place where you can get some decent quality steaks at a good price. The portions are not huge, but it's all you need, and for the price (under $10 a plate) I think it's very good. The empanadas are great too

La Estancia is my go-to lunch place when I'm feeling the urge to overindulge. They've got an amazing assortment of Argentinean goodies in their bakery, delicious sandwiches and empanadas. I can never leave without getting a skirt steak empanada, my choice of several sandwiches on the lunch special menu and a piece of balcarcé cake. Plenty of tables if you're looking to eat it, and the staff is pretty quick at getting your food out if you're on a time limit. La Estancia is the epitome of the phrase "lunch win".

Lunch on a weekday. This place is more of a restauarant/bakery than a store. Empanadas for $1.55 when I was there today. 3 items available for the 'pay by the pound' order. I ate the meat, a little dry and tough, probably because I eat lunch a little late, but with good portion and flavor. It seemed like most of the other people their placed orders instead of ordering by the pound.9.99/lb. Besides the 3 meat and sauce choices, you also add rice, mash potato or a mashed sweet potato?. The desserts do look very tempting so hold yourself back. Also, I like the big wine shelf across the wall of the market. Dining style: order at the counter where the food is... the long counter if you're getting a menu item or stand by the meats if you're ordering by the pound. Take a seat, grab something to drink from the fridges in the back, eat or wait for your meal, then leave your dishes on the table and go up to the register at the end to pay.

My wife and I have become regulars here. We have yet to order something that we didn't like. Not only is it a great little place to grab a quick bite, but they have a great butcher shop with lots of quality cuts of meat. They are a little on the pricey side...you can easily spend $30 or $40 if your not careful. Of note: killer desserts (especially the alfajores), pretty good empanadas, and a pretty good steak sandwich.

  • Joseluis A.

contrary to jordan n's testimony, i like the coral gables location way better, not only cause its got more variety of products but also because its better lit, better kept and you can always get food there. i came to la estancia recently for breakfast, 7 dollars for scrambled eggs, two mini pancakes and a cup of coffee. the empanadas are great, just as good as in the CG location but thats it, maybe im just hurt because i was expecting real life pancakes not those little fucking rip-off pancakes.

  • Mick M.

This place definitely doesn't show anything from Argentina. The service is mediocre, the quality of the food they cook is OK but overpriced. A $2.5 empanada is just a rip off and they are no wow. You can have a very good one somewhere else for $1.00. Their wine selection is really good but extremely expensive, especially when you can find the same brands in Publix or any other wine store for the half of their prices. If you really want to get bad service and pay expensive prices, well this is the place to go.

    (1)
  • Pierre K.

Very good place, as Argentinian as it gets. Everything is good but it is pricey in my opinion. I have not eaten a parrilla there so I'm am judging on the sandwiches and empanadas. Try the skirt steak empanada, it is the best one I have had since I was in buenos aires! Also the butcher is excellent. I think I still like buenos aires bakery in MB better but in that part of Miami, it is the best place for Argentinian food.

Ah Estancia - how we love you, and how often we've opined that we'd love a market just like you in San Francisco.... Every time we visit I leave with a pang of regret that I can't buy any of the tasty meaty goodness to cook for ourselves (since we're usually on holiday). I marvel at the amazing display cases of pastries, cakes, prepared foods and meats; the patrons with their baskets loaded with sausage, pasta and alfajores. Thankfully we're able to sample a bit of the cooked fare -- at this location there is no posted menu, but only one laminated card up at the counter where most place their orders. Most of the patrons who seem to be regulars appear not to need it, and eating in appears to be almost as popular as takeout. Steak seems very prevalent. Also - on a busy Sunday, the market is full with families stopping by for some groceries and a quick bite. There is a bit of mild chaos at the counters where patrons mill about waiting and jockying for their turn to order or pay. We order a milanesa sandwich; mollejas (sweetbreads) with garlic mashed potatoes, a dozen empanadas, cafe con leche and flan. It's dangerous to have those empanadas so reaadily available. We devour some in quick succession as we wait for our order... jamon con queso; spinache (+ walnuts); pollo; carne; maiz (in a cream sauce...)... all excellent and delicious. A mistake, since we're already a little full when our other orders arrive. The mollejas are my choice as usual, and they're cooked perfectly - crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. All they need is a little drizzle of lemon to cut the richness. The garlic mashed potatoes have dried garlic powder sprinkled on top, but -- surprisingly good. And the milanesa -- crispy, tasty meaty goodness. It's really hard to resist the attractive offerings at La Estancia -- from their extensive wine collection; to the cookies and candies up front; to their coffees, teas, & yerba mate; to their freezer of frozen, empanadas and other filled pastas. Another note. The kind folks here at La Estancia crank up the air conditioner to Arctic conditions. I recommend bringing a light jacket or some sort of sweater if you plan on eating in.

If I would have written this review four years ago, I would have given this place five stars. Unfortunately, with time, this place has declined. I was a huge fan of their bottled juices imported from Israel which they no longer carry. Also, their empanadas which used to be generous, plump and juicy (2 were enough for lunch) are now small and dry. The selection of what they have or don't have in their deli case seems somewhat unpredictable, so you can't count on them having what you want when you go. Based on the other reviews here, I am willing to give it another chance and staying open minded about changing my review afterward.

My husband and I live almost within walking distance, and we are big fans! I have tried every style of empanada, and they are all delicious... they definitely have one for your personal preference of meat, chicken, or vegetarian with all the different choices. (The ham and cheese is my personal fave, and it is always perfect :) ) They also have a pretty big selection of meat as well, and every time we have bought any, the quality was always great. They also have a pretty good selection of pastries and desserts to choose from. I have tried a couple different ones and they have all been delicious! We have tried the sammies as well, and they were above average, but I think the empanadas are the best bet here.

FABULOSO! This place is really good and affordable. I went home for the weekend and my bf introduced me to this place.... he did an awesome job by bringing me here. I ordered to start some fresh prosciutto di parma slices as an appetizer from the deli and he ordered probably the most incredible empanadas I have ever tasted. We also shared a grilled chicken sandwich that was yummo. If you live close to Aventura or even if you do not, I recommend trying this one out. I believe they also have some other locations.

This place has a special place in my heart. This spring I was sponsored on a Professional Exchange trip to Argentina by Rotary International and this is were the group of us had or first meeting before the trip. The selection of meat, wine and cheese is the best I found outside of Argentina. The service is fast and mostly friendly and when I let them know I was going to Argentina, the staff went out of their way to explain everything about the food and customs surrounding meals there. The plastic knives an forks is really strange though but oh well. I never go to Aventura for anything but this place is worth the trip.

I am from argentina but this place is horrible. The food is bad and expendive and the people even worst. The tables are always dirty and nobody cares. The empanadas are empty and expendise and the size of the dishes unbelievable small. The only reason i gave them 2 stars uts because i can get things that reminds me my country.

Argentinians are Argentinias. This place remaind me to my country, where they try to take advantage from the customer at any price. We call that action "viveza criolla" in Argentina. Iwent to la estancia to have the plate of the day, that youcan have it by the pound. I order "vacio" with rice for my wife and vacio with mushpotatoes for me, because they run out of rice. The food was very good, but when I paid, I found out that the plate with mushpotatoes cost the double than the one with rice, so when I complain about the price they explain me that the fisical wight of the mushpotatoes is more than double than the rice, so that's why I end paying the double for the same plate. I was so mad at the situation, not for price diference, I was mad because I felt like they were treating me like an idiot. I felt like I was in my country again, where they beleive that they are smart because they charge 2 times more for the mushpotatoes. I think that if we are living in the US, is because we were looking for a change. Please don't do the same things here that ruin our country. Don't ruin this country with the viveza criolla

Had a nice lunch there yesterday- the chicken salad with aji on the side was delicious--and tasted so fresh! Moderately priced too. We tried a bottle of their Sidra, priced at $5 but had a $10 corking fee--kind of silly. Anyway, great food, and nice atmosphere. Bring a sweater because there isn't outside seating and indoors is a little chilly!

"As the wife of an Argentine, I've become quite the meat snob (hell, there are worse things, right?). The quality of the meat-for-sale here is bar none (as is Graziano's). And the fact that this place is as sterile as a doctor's office doesn't hurt either. For our bar-b-qs, the entrana (skirt steak), chorzio (pork sausage), morcilla (blood sausage) and sweet breads are phenomenal. Also, be sure to pick up a jar of their chimichurri sauce. Eating here is good for lunch, too. I'm a fan of their meat empanadas and skirt steak with salad. For dessert, try a dulce de leche pastry or buy a box of alfajores...divinity! But I agree with David C., plastic utensils are completely out of line here. This IS a steak shop. Seriously, try cutting a slab of meat with a plastic knife...it's not a good time. You'd think by now they'd invest in some real dishes and metal utensils. Get with program, peeps. I'd give ya 5 stars but the whole plastic-silverware-in-a-bag dilemma is reminiscent of my elementary cafeteria...and that's not a good thing.

Years ago, I frequented the one that was on Ponce and since I moved to Aventura I decided to try this location. I am not giving it 1 star for respect to its former glory, the one on Ponce. The variety of pasties are still good. Yet, I think a bit overpriced, not keeping up with inflation but exceeding it. The biggest disappointment was their lack of freshness in the food. The empanada was simply old, the sides were too small and the meat was just OK. Now, my biggest disappointment happened when I decided to buy a $30 voucher from "social life" and paid with the meals it. They didn't understand how to charge it and gave me a look as if I was stealing something for getting a good deal. Well, this food, even at half price, was not a good deal. Will not be going back any time soon.

I usually get bakery or empanadas here. It's been a while that I've gone however the last time I went the empanadas have shrunk and were a little blah... The bakery items are normally fresh and very rich. I have bought meats from the deli which I used for bbqing. It wasn't cheap!!! The meats were good though! I only gave three stars because I think they've become a little lax with their product since opening a few years ago and their prices are definitely a little high. I'll give it another chance in a month or two to see if there was a change for the better.

I recently visited the "La Estancia Argentina" restaurant in Miramar and got very disappointed. Even the fact that I think the taste is good, they have raised the prices for the lunch specials too much. I ended up paying more than 12 buck for a mushroom chicken meal since now they weight the plate instead of changing a fixed amount. So, I paid 12 dollars and still comes in a paper plate with plastic utensils. Very disappointing.

The empanadas are really good, especially the carne one (by far one of my favorites in Miami). The steak sandwich and the chicken and avocado sandwich are also delicious and my top two things on their menu. This is a good option for a quick meal (but not fast food) and it is reasonably priced. All the argentinean products sold there are also very fresh and the meat from the deli is delicious for bbqs. You will pay a little more than at regular supermarkets, but the meat sold there is much better quality. The breads are also very fresh, especially for the chorizo sandwiches! All the pastries and cakes are very good, I've really never had something bad there. Service is decent, but sometimes it does get too crowded. You order and pay at the counter, they give you a number and then they bring you the food (it is not a sit down restaurant with waiters).

Good argentenian bakery, even better deli. The (deli)man at the front counter is friendly and very eager to help. The best thing in the whole place is the Don Juan manchego cheese. It's like butter. Sooo good.the desserts are good too. Good wine selection in the small market.

I know other Yelpers are not in agreement, but I did not find this place to be anything special :( I tried, I really tried. The service was definitely lacking - the individuals behind the counter did not really go out of their way to be helpful - they did just the minimum. The empanadas were salty, as was my pea soup. Why?? I so wanted to like you Estancia Argentina... I really did. My husband's meat filled sandwich was just okay, according to him - nothing special. Also, you have the problem of the plastic ware that you are supposed to eat with - really.. especially the meat? The place itself is very aesthetically pleasing and very clean. I have to say they do seem to have a wide variety of specialty food market products that one could surely use to cook at home - Argentinian style. Nonetheless, that does not make up for the very mediocre service and salty food. Maybe I'll give it another shot and maybe I'll try their desserts next time... We'll see.

One of my favorite places to go in Miami. Everything I have eaten here is excellent. A gourmet food shop with seats to grab a quick meal. The mixed grill and empanadas are very good. They have a full assortment of baked goods, sweets, meats, cheeses and wines. A great place to eat in, carry out or to get ingredients for a home cooked meal.

La Estancia in Aventura is one of those unique places where you can sit down and have lunch or pick up some ingredients for your own argentine parillada at home. They have a great selection of cheeses , meats and wines. I had a skirt steak sandwich that came with cheese lettuce and tomato. It was delicious. I also had a ham and cheese empanada as an appetizer. I pondered dessert , but I decided to leave that for another day. They also have free WIFI so you can browse Yelp while you wait for your food.

Ok, I've come here a few times. Finally a review..It is a great market, butcher shop, bakery, and sandwich place etc. However, this review is for predominantly their empanadas. I am a white boy from Upstate NY and relocated not to long ago to the area and didn't know what an empanada was, I just knew Jamaican meat pies. Now in Miami, I'm like a kid in a candy store sampling Cuban, latino/South American etc food and loving it! This place was across the street from where I lived for a 4 months, and I didn't discover it for the first 2 months, much to my regret. They have excellent sandwiches, a reasonable meat case and the best empanadas I have ever had. Whilst I have not a lot of experience with empanadas, I have been around the block the last year in South Florida, and compare all to Estancia's. I think these are some of the best in the Miami area, the flavor, the selection, the freshness. Outstanding in the field of Excellence Award for Empanadas. lol They get the 5th star for the Empanadas. I drive up to Aventura to get them. Enough said. I got some today, gotta end this and go eat a ground beefer. ;)

5 stars for their empanadas and awesome Argentine delicatessen but 2 stars for their confections and coffee. Fantastic variety of empanadas that will delight your tastebuds. I try to indulge at least once a week. They have a wide variety of confections also but after being underwhelmed by a handful of them I stopped trying. They exclusively sell Illy's coffee and espresso of which I am not a fan. If you're passing by on Biscayne Blvd take 5 minutes and stop for a few empanadas. You'll be glad you did.

This place is very good! My breakfast today here was amazing.. Everyhing taste very good and really remind me the Argentina flavor! The Dulce de Leche they use in the deserts is the best!

I can't believe that I just found out about this place-what a Gem tucked away off Biscayne! It is easy to miss so look carefully! I had a really good experience here. The service-sweet and friendly. The decor-kinda fancy and casual at the same time. The location-sort of complex. The parking-could get crowded and tricky. The food-creative, tasty and flavorful. The coffee-Really creamy and good. The desserts-a lot to choose from but they are really good!! The prices-on the pricier side but worth the taste. The Atmosphere-relaxing and family oriented. **Note: If you are dating a Latin person and you want to impress their taste buds then take them here...you will get much propz, trust me! So, check it...I ordered their premium Empanadas, which was so good and full of flavors. My favorite was the the Carne Cortada. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was awesome and I had the mini cookie sandwich filled with duce de leche-let's just say I wanted more!!! Good experiece-Tha Yelp Daddy approves this place!!!

This place is well located off Biscayne blvd. In Aventura... It has many different options to eat there or take out. It also has a great selection of Argentinian wines and also many cuts of Argentinian Meat. So, want to have a BBQ at home? Come here and stock up... They've got most of what you need... They also have very good empanadas, we buy them all the time to have quick bites at home. The place could use some remodel and could be a notch cleaner, but the good stuff they have there makes up for it. Service is good but could improve some. They have about 20 parking spaces... Enjoy

Someone recommended that I try this place for their empanadas so I went ahead and tried several types, such as their premium empanadas for $2.85 each: the Carne Cortada a Cuchillo - a hand cut beef empanada and the Chorizo - the argentine sausage empanada. I was not crazy about the Carne Cortada a Cuchillo but I did like the taste of the Chorizo empanada much more. For their regular empanadas ($2.15 each), I tried the Spinach empanada that is made with cheese and YES, it is delicious and this one was my second favorite. My other favorite was the Carne Molinda - the regular ground beef empanada. The jamon u queso - ham and cheese empanada was okay. I ordered the all natural orange juice for $5 to wash it all down but unfortunately, it was not sweet enough and I hate lukewarm drinks... so was disappointed with that. I had to ask for some ice to add to my drink to make it cool. Overall, I'd come again for some of their empanadas. As for the sweets, I don't remember the name of the three I tried but my favorate was the one that was like a mini cookie sandwich filled with duce de leche and the top of the cookie was covered with chocolate and decorative white swirly lines; seen in one of my photos below.

We got empanadas take out for lunch, and they were pretty tasty. I especially liked the Argentinian sausage one, which was very flavorful. I wouldn't complain if the price is a bit cheaper, but no complaint for the quality of food you get here. Will come back again when I visit Miami again!

I had a pleasant time here.Friendly staff and good good.Coffee they serve its ILLY which is a great option.Kinda felt like in Argentina since most customers are from there. It was a little pricy even tho I used a Groupon voucher.

A little disappointed. I was looking for a place before getting my haircut since I don't come out this way much. I read the reviews about the steak empanadas and mushroom. I tried both and they did not have too much flavor. Although I believe my mushroom was a chicken one instead lol. They get a zero on customer service.... Would not go back again.

Great food but horrible! Horrible service! You ask the waitress for something they tell you to go up to the counter and ask for it yourself, bc they are busy! What the hell??? Really???? I don't understand why they don't have regular table service instead of making you wait in 3 different lines! They seriously need to either hire different people that are willing to work or change the way they do their service. It's not my first time here and it's always the same experience!!!

Rib eye steak was tender and nice. I did not like the side of pumpkin puree much since it had a wired taste. Their empanadas are always so tasty.

I have been coming to this establishment for over 3 years now. They have everything in one place...grocery, fresh meat, cakes, desserts, empanadas, wine, sandwiches and full dinner selections. I come here for the chicken, carne and slice steak empanadas. Always fresh, always ready and full of meat. Love their gourmet sandwiches too and my favorite is the avocado pollo..its huge! If there's 2 of you, must try the Grilled Sampler for 2. I think its enough for 4 to be honest. Its a no frills joint. You order at the counter, pay the cashier, then a runner will bring your food. FYI, they always have deals on groupon and YES, they honor it :) I'll keep coming back for more.

Excellent food. Their empanadas are REALLY good. Try their Premium empanadas; you wont regret it. We bought one and we repeated. We had the entraña and the vacio. It was delicious and for a very affordable price!

For me, one of the best brands of coffee is ILLY. And they serve it perfectly well! The sweets are awesomely made! Service can be better as they served my coffee in paper cups (as it was to-go) without even asking me! Gives the impression of laziness in terms of not wanting to wash dishes... Next week I'll try their lunch and will review it again! :-)

The place is nice, but food is not that good, and for what they serve you, it is expensive. The good thing is that they have a lot of variety of Argentinian food.

Wow! What amazing empanadas you have here!! We stopped here after going to the Aventura Mall and had an amazing little snack! We ordered a Spinach Empanada, Beef Empanada, Caprese Empanada, and a Caramel filled Churro! All of it was amazing! We didn't eat inside, we just ordered and left but they have plenty of seating. The person who helped us get our Empanada's got the job done quickly and told me where to check out. We also got a bottle of $7 wine that was by the check out! Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here to try their amazingly delicious empanada's! Hot- Flaky- Flavorful- Fresh!!

The meats are delicious and their desserts are divine! There is a huge array of desserts to choose from and they are all as stunning as they are tasty. The strawberry layered cake was a hit with the whole fam. We usually order a churrasco with sweet potato fries and they have never disappointed! The empanadas have also been a hit with guests when we've purchased them for carry out. The only reason I didn't give them 4 or 5 stars is because of the service. The ordering system was a little unconventional. I thought it was table service but you wait in the general dessert area for a menu, then order with someone behind the dessert counter, then go to the ordering line to pay. Not such a stream lined process with some room for improvement. Its not exactly clear that this is how it works so for a new comer it can be a little confusing and several others actually skipped us because we just didn't know that's how they operated and no one that worked there greeted us and showed up the way. Each time we have gone here we had to clean the tables our selves and the self serve water area was both dirty and out of water. Everyone there is very pleasant but I think they might just be under staffed or mismanaged. We're looking forward to going back for some more great food but beware If you are unable to cope with service issues.

I've only had the empanadas....the ground beef really pretty good. Mushroom & cheese was ok, good flavor but a little gritty constancy and steak was decent. Ground beef definitely what I would come back for. Can't wait to try the chicken!

The milanesa and asado the tiras was very good, but the fries were from frozen and bland. There's no waiter service, just like an english pub.

Great place to pick up a snack, empanadas or otherwise known as meat pies. The do have other offerings such as 4 cheese, chicken, steak and etc.... They also offer cooked meals which smelled good, such as steaks and chicken. They have a variety of desserts such as alfajores(shortbread cookies sandwiched with caramel/dulce de leche), cakes and other items. They have a pantry of Argentine products. They have a butcher service for meats and cold cuts. Wine section and refrigerated/freezer section for those other offerings such as drinks, pasta and etc...

Ordered Pizza cheese seemed like elastic and crust was under cooked and flimsy. Also ordered one cheese/onion and one spinach empanada very small but tasty. Cappuccino wasn't hot and fyi comes with no sugar. Tiramisu cake was a bit dry but good. Have to guess the prices of desserts and coffee. Service not so great..

Worst service I have ever had, period. The girl at the ordering counter Jessica is simply nasty and the cashier was very rude and looked like she did not want to be there even gave us warm imported beer without opening it... Sides were gross, but everything else was okay. Nice variety of meats. If it wouldn't be for the very rude staff I would return.

After getting a Groupon online I was so excited to try this place out considering it's so close to my house and I pass it almost everyday. We started with 4 empanadas, a chicken salad sandwich, and calamari. Needless to say the empanadas were cold so we had them warm them up, the chicken salad sandwich we sent back because it tasted old and was yellow (which could have made sense because of the seasoning but it didn't taste like anything...), and the calamari was INCREDIBLY bland. I didn't want to send back another thing so I ended up getting it boxed up and then throwing it away once I left. We sent back the sandwich thinking that we at least should enjoy something that we ordered, so we got the prosciutto and arugula pizza in place of it. That was pretty good, but once again very bland and there was only four 2 inch strips of prosciutto on it. Needless to say we will never be back again.

Great argentines food at good prices and fast service! What else can you ask? Love the empanadas to go, never disappointed. Perhaps if they start a delivery service I would eat that food more frequently. Try the dulce de leche...

The empanadas are oh so good. The cheese and onion was my favorite but the others were all first rate. The young lady helping me at the counter was very informative and polite and the atmosphere was excellent. Good wine selection and a hidden gem for that area.

Rudest service I have ever experienced. The food is not that good and most of the servers are rude and not nice. Very expensive, 2 empandas almost come out to $8 and are not that special.

I really love the empanadas here, especially the mushroom with cheese and green onions. The prices are a bit high but worth it every once in a while. I used to be a fan of the food but the last couple of times I ordered an actual meal I was pretty disappointed. I typically order the skirt stake with french fries. The steak would always be juicy and the fries nice and crunchy. I'm not sure what happened, but lately the steak is greasy like someone poured a bunch of oil on it. To top it off they don't trim off the excess fat so it just adds to the greasy mess. The french fries have also suffered the same issue. Not only are they extremely greasy, like they just sat in a vat of oil, they are under cooked. There is nothing more unpleasant than soggy, greasy, raw french fries. Seems to me someone in the kitchen isn't cooking the fries at the right temperature for the right amount of time. I will definitely still buy the empanadas, but until the food is prepared properly, I don't think I will be having anymore sit down meals at La Estancia Argentina any time soon.

You can never go wrong with whatever you ask for here. From their empanadas to their decadent desserts, everything is always fresh and truly a taste unparalleled to others. Their steak sandwich is full of flavor. Their homemade fries are truly out of this world. The food portions and quality of their meats definitely are beyond the price. One of my favorite go to places.

  • Sebastian F.

You want beef? This is the place to go expertly cut stake, cook to perfection, and with excellent texture, and flavor. The prices are not bad. Second time I've been and it hasn't let me down. The system they have for ordering food is a little chaotic, but I personally don't care since the food is soooooo good and so cheap for the quality that your getting. 10 out of 10 would always come back. Keep it up.

My 4 star rating is for their empanadas! My favorite ones are the ham and cheese empanadas. They are crisp, cheesy, full of flavor and delicious. Their empanadas always taste fresh. Don't get there too late because they run out, especially of my favorites. Also the cheese and onion, spinach empanadas are good. I also like to order the entrana from their menu and I love the little dessert cookie with dulce de leche in the middle. It is a nice little market. With tables around so you can eat in while you shop for various imported products from Argentina. They also have a meat and cheese section where you can order your meat and prepare it at home. I don't live close but every time I am in the Aventura area I have to stop by!

So, I really love me some empanadas and I wish I had more time to try more of their products. I discovered this place before I left Miami where I was lucky to live near a mostly Argentinian neighborhood. My only complaint which sounds very ignorant is that their was a limited selection of healthy vegetarian food. South Americans love their meats so this should come as no surprise. Point blank this place is top notch when it comes to empanadas and baked goods. Tip to readers: After reading other peoples reviews...most places in Miami tend to favor the customers that speak Spanish. The language is a big thing there, even professional people that are nonnative speakers learn Spanish to stay in business. As a South American, I can confidently say that "slow customer service"is more the norm. In comparison to other countries Americans prefer to eat fast and socialize less.

nice little place for snacks and little bites, we had the milanesa which was pricey for what it was but tasty , we also had this peach miringe cake that was one of the best desserts i have ever had, the place is wonderful for empanadas, looks very authentic too.

  • Julian A.

Well I had their empanadas especially their spinach one which was awesome. Unfortunately I had prefer take out and when I got back home I noticed that a whole order was missing. That put a damper on my day. But the next day I reordered what I was missing so I will post a review once we actually taste it. Well I went to get my breaded chicken, rice and batatas and it wasn't anything to brag about. Miami is full of restaurants that are just overpriced. No quality of food. Stick to the empanadas in this joint as well as the sweets. Their meats are pretty good as well. But check your orders.

La Estancia Argentina is pretty much my go-to place when I need to pick up some meat to grill. Their entrañas are absolutely immense and put other butcher shops to shame. The prices are not cheap, but you can get your steak "con piel" to save a couple of bucks per pound and if you don't mind skinning the steak. The only downside is that they do not offer any grass-fed or organic cuts. I've had the entraña, vacio, bife de chorizo, salchichas, and morcillo and they are all top notch. They also have red or green chimichurri here which is probably some of the best I have had. The butcher is very helpful here although he doesn't speak a lick of English. There is also a pretty good selection of Argentine wines, cheese, and other South American foods. I know they serve food here since it is always packed with eaters every time I stop by, but I can only vouch for the empanadas which are delicious. Bottom line - if you are looking for a lot of good quality meat then definitely make a stop to La Estancia.
