During the Annual Watermelon Festival, my family and I walked the town's antique shops. After a couple of hours of scouring through all the cool old stuff, we developed a hunger. We walked passed Cafe Italiano and thought to try yet another Italian family owned place. Inside reminded me of a prideful owner and ties with Italy, decor with a Venice gondola mural and many other Italian traditional attractions. We ordered a large salad and it was good topped with balsamic vinaigrette. I tried the Italian Beef and Sausage sandwich, the sausage was good and homemade but the thin sliced beef lacked taste. A little on the bland side and dry. The rest of our group had cheese and sausage pizza, per they're say, it was good. The crust was crispy like a typical pizzeria. The cheese was stringy! Certainly Cafe Italiano is a place to stop if you have such a taste for pizza, pasta and salads. For Italian sandwich, I think I would prefer to visit the Oak Street Deli right down the street from this place...

A quaint Mom & Pop in the middle of Historic Arcadia. Was a Tea House about 5 years ago. I had their fettucinni Alfredo. Very tasty. The lunch portion was more than enough for me. Would have been perfect if it had fresh parsley. I did add grated cheese to give it a little 'bam.' It came with a generous sized salad & home made bread. Found out that the fettucinni is also home made. My wife had their sausage wrap. Great home made sausage & big enough for 2 people. Prices were very reasonable. The decor needs a bit of TLC, but who's eating the decor? Service was very good. Constantly checking on us. It's a "be back." Gotta check out their pizza.

Surely gets 5 stars food items. Prime rib end cut, garlic mashed tators, fab soup, glass of Cab...all Really good. Service same. Wow good find here. Sure will return. Looked around other tables as I left and see lots Ital dishes. All look amazing good.

I was really skeptical of trying an Italian restaurant in Arcadia, then I thought I was really going around the bend to order grouper piccata in such a dubious locale for seafood, but who knew? This is a little gem with first rate food, and I am a very harsh critic. My grouper was perfection, with. REAL piccata sauce, capers and lemon and beautifully balanced ( what is wrong with so many restaurants these days that produce a piccata without a single caper to be found?). The fish was accompanied by a wonderfully creamy risotto that melted in my mouth and was perfectly seasoned. My husband had a fettuccine milanese special with sliced ribeye steak and a creamy sauce that he raved about. House salads were very nice, better than most. I was not wild about the thick squares of focaccia, I thought they were too sweet and needed olive oil, but some people might love them. The restaurant has wonderful ambience, in one of the old buildings of Arcadia's historic district, the food is better than 90% of Italian restaurants in large urban areas, and we highly recommend it.

An unexpected gem in Arcadia! Don't go expecting formal dining - it's simply no-frills, satisfying, totally homemade Italian. Had the fresh house-made (!) pasta with ragu - fantastic!

I would like to review the food but the service was so bad I never got to eat here. Horrible service. Bad attitudes. Left after a half hour of being ignored at the table, after a 30 minute wait to get seated. Never even asked if we wanted drinks.

They do not have a brick oven for the featured " brick oven pizza"! Which was very disappointing as the margarita pizza was soggy and the shrimp diavolo was boring not spicy. However, Michelle the server was lovely and the ambiance was quaint.

I know what you are thinking because I was thinking the same thing........ REAL Italian food in Arcadia??? PUHHHLEASSSEEE!! Just do yourself a favor and try it. I have been here 3 or 4 times. We've never gotten a bad meal. We have had several different pizzas, several pasta dishes and anipasta. Everything was great EVERY time. Are they a little slow? yeah maybe but A) You are in Arcadia, not NYC and B) I'll take that over getting slices that have been under a heat lamp for 4 hours!!

Waited more than 45 minutes (closer to a HOUR!) for a 12" Margharita pizza! If we hadn't already been served two iced teas, I would have gotten up & walked out! I realize that it was a Saturday afternoon, @ the rodeo was in town, so the streets of downtown Arcadia was packed with people. But still, there is no excuse for this! When we walked in, the place wasn't full, & there were actually empty tables in the back. We were seated immediately, & ordered promptly. Then the waiting began. When I started to complain to the server, she said all the food was made fresh, to order. Then she said, "your pizza will be out in two minutes." Fifteen minutes later, we were STILL WAITING! I realize that it's not the server's fault, but don't gloss over it! She should have said that the pizza orders were backed up. I would've been FINE with a Caesar Salad, or a meatball parm hero! I mean, c'mon! If it were possible to give this place a MINUS 1 STAR, I would. I will never, ever return to this place, which is a shame, because we had a great time at the rodeo nearby, & we plan on returning to downtown Arcadia both for the rodeo, & to explore more of the antique shops there. Trust me: avoid this place at all cost, and ESPECIALLY if you've got somewhere to go!

Went there with my wife and kids in June. Pizza was delicious, owner was inviting and very friendly. Antipasto was good and server was nice. Look forward to returning.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
