Absolutely the best Chinese in central Florida. Unfortunately the prices are a bit higher than normal. If you can get there during lunch its but so bad.

My wife and I have been getting takeout from here for a fairly long time, and that's the way to go to for us. Sitting in a quiet, nearly-empty restaurant is kinda creepy to me. That said, it seems 168 has been around so long because it's great for takeout (isn't that what Chinese is all about?) The food seems very fresh for the most part, and in large portions; don't worry about dinner the next night. Moo-goo-gai-pan and lo mein are very good. Wish they had spring rolls instead of just egg rolls. A good choice in the restaurant-lite Apopka area.

Decent Chinese food, if a little pricey. It may not be the prettiest location but 6 of us went for lunch today and we left happy. Krab Rangoon and steamed dumplings were tasty appetizers to start. We all had different dishes: shrimp lo mein, steamed rice, chicken and vegetables, brown rice, sweet and sour chicken. I went back for the shrimp lo mein because when I like something, I go back for seconds. But I can find it for less elsewhere - that much I do know. If I'm in the area, and it's Sunday afternoon, and I'm starving, I'll be back.

I called to order take out and was told they were too busy and try again tomorrow. I was not even given an option to pick up later.

Been a regular customer for years and thought it was good. Did not go in a lot, but ordered to go. The last time we placed a to go order and the food tasted different. It was really greasy and a bit bland. Not at all resembling the flavors that we have come to love from them. I'm thinking new management maybe? Hope they get it together, because I may only give it one more shot. It would be sad to lose a good Chinese option in the area.

I'm giving them one star because the food was decent. The service was a train wreck. We didn't get drinks or refills quickly and we had to ask for fried noodles. They messed up our orders and then messed up the bill. I don't recommend it.

For $14 I expected a larger portion of meat. Most of the container was vegetables; very little meat. Also, the fried rice really leaves something to be desired. It has no vegetables or pork. No egg roll, nothing. All around confusing experience. If the prices were lower then I could understand but for $14? This place is a joke. The entrees at Caffe Positano next door are cheaper than that. Also, as a few others have stated, the place smells funky.

This is by far the best Chinese food in the Apopka/ Orlando area. My favorite dishes are beef and broccoli, moo goo gai pan and chicken chow mein. The wonton soup is made a lil different but in a better way. The waiter is always very attentive and on top of your drinks they never even get half empty. Just a really great place to eat at.

Let me start by saying that I love asian cuisine. I have been here before about a year ago, and this place was decent. This time however, the smell that hits your face when you walk inside the door is less than pleasant. Indescribably odd. The won ton soup was bland even with some shakes of soy sauce added. The hot and sour soup tasted like it came out of a can. The chicken satay I ordered for my 4 year old was spicy, yet wait staff insisted it wasn't. I ordered spicy orange steak which had good flavor but was heavily coated in batter. I have no desire to return this place any time soon. One last thing, they do not bother wipe down the dust from the bathrooms, including the toilet tank. I could have written my name on it, if I felt daring enough. :). Which I didn't.

Absolutely awful!!! The hostess was rude, the waiter was pushy, the place is filthy and smells bad. So horrible! Note any good reviews are older. I had been here previously and was very pleased but that was a few years ago. Unfortunately, my go to chinese place closed, so thought I would try again. BIG MISTAKE! Myself and my date were the only ones in the place. Now I know why!

We had lunch here - service was so fast and attentive. I like that if you ordered soda they gave you bottles. It's fun to take the bottle with you when you leave. ;) Their hot and sour soup is a mix I think. Not very good. :( Couldn't finish it. They put a big bowl of fried crackers on the table. There's so many of them... it makes me wonder if they are recycled. If you know what I mean. As for the actual entrees, they are very good and flavorful. We'll be getting take-out from here in the future. No soups though. And no crackers please. ;)

I have never eaten in at this restaurant, but picked up to go. On Friday night it was practically empty at 8:30 so I think it would be easy to get in. The food was really great. The portions are huge. Enough to feed me three times! This is a plus because it is a little spendy, but I think you get what you pay for with Chinese food. The woman on the phone was pleasant with me and patient. I wanted to make sure this was the right place when I ordered, and she didn't really seem to know where she was but we figured it out. I got the 5 star chicken, which was supposed to be spicy. It wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but I am sure I can ask them to kick it up a notch the next time I go. Also it was tasty. I also got an egg roll and while it was crispy, it didn't have much flavor, so I would probably skip that the next time. Tom got the pork fried rice (yes that is ALL he got) and we were both surprised when we got it. You could actually see the pork! Usually the pieces of pork are small and hard to see, but at 168, they are large pieces. It was really good. I will definitely order from 168 again.

I came here when i was in the area. Service was friendly and prompt. I recommend the homemade iced tea, had a tasty flavor that didn't need sweetening. The server was ready to accommodate my vegetarianism and recommended the mixed vegetables with garlic sauce. The entree was $6,50 for lunch and was tasty as well. I would recommend it if you are in the area. The decor was nice, if you are into that more modern feel, rather than mom and pop. (which I Aldo like )

Went to 168 last night & as usual the dinner was great. The quality has always been spot on & the service it attentive without being intrusive. This has always been a consistent as I've never noticed it to waiver in both the quality and service. There are cheaper Chinese restaurants out there, but I don't consider them expensive for what you are getting again in the quality and portion sizes. The sauces are rich & tasty, yet never overly salty from just too much soy sauce. This is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the Greater Orlando area. Chang's is good for Asian infusion, but their prices, I think are higher. The only other restaurant that I think is on par is Eastern Pearl in Altamonte Springs, but again, their prices are higher as well & I don't think their portion sizes match those at 168. Now, granted, they do have dim sum, which I just love. The only issue I had last night, and there was nothing the restaurant could do about, was with another table that had a screaming child. Obviously, it didn't bother them, but I'm sure it bothered other diners as well. When will people learn about courtesy and respect? Seriously, they should have taken the child outside or ordered take-out!!

I've had a few items here and everything was pretty good, but two items stand out in my opinion. The Lo Mein is not your typical salty greasy noodle like you find at other chinese places - it's more of an al-dente linguini coated in a rich brown sauce, it's a bit greasy, but it's a huge portion and isn't a disappointment. And the General Tso's chicken - this is hands-down the best General Tso's I've ever had in my life. The sauce is the thick-gelatinous rich sauce that very few chinese restaurants seem capable of producing. It's a must have!

When I go home, we order this. A little greasy, but the food is pretty darn good. Plus, everything is fresh and super tasty. You would be hard-pressed to find quality Chinese food at the same price 168 offers

It is a bit pricey for Chinese but the size and quality of portions make up for it. And they serve brown rice! This is the best Chinese I've had. If you like it hot ask for the chili paste. Great flavor and heat.

Portions are huge! I got take out. General Tso was good. Sweet and Sour Chicken didn't have much flavor but the sauce was good. It might have been better had I dined in. Was a bit pricey but portions made up for it. I will most likely try something else next time.

168 has been around for a long time, but I don't see why. The food is very bland and the menu is a mimic of most every other mom and pop Chinese place. The service, however, is very friendly and fast.

I've been a faithful 168 customer for years. I've never been disappointment. It's the best Chinese in orlando.

I would have to say that this is the best Chinese food place I have come across in Orlando and the surrounding area. I obviously haven't tried them all but I have tried quite a few and none have food that tastes as fresh and well done as this. I almost always get the Orange Chicken because it's so good and my wife always gets the General Tso's chicken. That dish is excellent as well. And since the portions are so large we always have leftovers for the next day.

Ordered take-out a few weeks ago from this place after reading mostly positive reviews on Yelp. The food was below average and I will not return. Ordered: Sesame Chicken: Chicken was tough and greasy Egg Roll: soft and meh Crab Rangoon: greasy and tasteless

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
