1st time I came here was during the Halloween loop. We walked from the riverfront because we did not want to wait for the next bus. We were shocked to see only 5 people in the bar but we were not complaining either. Every time I've been there after that it is not a large crowd and I have gone during the week and the weekends. The bartender (one day I will get his name) is cool as the other side of the pillow (R.I.P. Stu Scott) and he makes a damn good Red Death! Their fries are great! Crispy but not too hard and just the right amount of salt. Got a couple TVs so you can watch the games and there is an internet jukebox If you need a quick beer, drink or appetizer this is the place to go.

The food was great! I had the chicken cheesesteak with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese crumbles...Highly recommended! Just hot enough, but not so much that my mouth was on fire. My husband had the cheeseburger, which he enjoyed very much. Both came with fries, which seriously may have the best I've ever had anywhere. I like mine crispy but not hard or crunchy, and these were fried to perfection. The service and people, also, were great. The bartender waited on us, and she was very friendly and helpful. The other lady there, who came to clear the table (and may have been the cook) was very nice, as well. The bar patrons were nice enough, though one was clearly already intoxicated when we arrived and kept right on drinking as he cursed every other word. The place could have been cleaner; the table was dusty, and the bathroom floor was dirty. BUT the absolute worst thing about our experience was the music. We could hear the bass booming when we walked up to the door, and if we hadn't been traveling through using our map app and Yelp reviews to locate what we hoped would be the perfect Irish pub, we honestly would never have gone in. It was so loud my ears were sore (and I've sung in rock bands for years). Plus, the selection of music was definitely not Irish. LOL A couple of the rap songs had lyrics so explicit that I was praying I wouldn't be able to decipher it anymore. Overall, the food and service were great, but, as other reviewers have noted, this is a -dive-...We were thankful we weren't with our kids, and if we had been, we would never have experienced the great food at all because we wouldn't have ever opened the door in the first place. My friend and I stopped at Shenanigans by mistake. We were in Wilmington, DE to do some sightseeing. As we were walking the streets, it began to pour rain. We happened upon this bar to get out of the rain. The atmosphere was welcoming with an older crowd. Several TVs hung near the bar and there was an Internet jukebox. There were a few tables but a lot more seating at the bar. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar and were greeted immediately by Jesse, the bartender. We ordered drinks and lunches. The menu was typical bar food. I got the fish and chips and my friend ordered the house hamburger. The food was served hot and in a timely manner. My fish and chips were yummy however the fish was something you would get out of the freezer section in a grocery store. My friend's hamburger was big and needed some seasoning. I was pleased with everything, even the bathroom was clean. If I was in the area again, I would stop by Shenanigans.

Just stopped while waiting to be picked up from the train. Nice people. Good food. Games. Tv. Beer pong if the mood strikes you. Decent beers on tap.

Great place to grab a beer before the train. Nice happy hour. Bartender friendly. I did not eat as I did not have time.

Nice little corner bar just a few blocks up form the train station. Older crowd when I was there. Food was decent. Burger could have used some seasoning but was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Crowd was pretty cool and had good jukeabox choices. Bartender was friendly and on the spot. This was the right place at the right time. No worries.

We hit this spot around 7 on a Sunday night having just blown into town. Not much else was open on Market Street. They had some local beer on draft, which makes me happy. The grilled cheese sandwiches and onion rings were good, nothing special. The music was very loud and the decor was a bit too dark for my liking. Atmosphere was friendly and had a nice neighborhood regular vibe.

I was stranded with my boyfriend in Wilmington because our train was delayed. We decided to make the best of it and go to the nearest bar. Shenanigans was WONDERFUL! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly even though we came in bedraggled with all our luggage. The bartender and the patrons all sympathised with our plight and the surpising variety of craft beers soothed our travel anxiety. They even helped me charge my phone, and offered advice on hotels if the train got cancelled for good. Soon, we didn't really care if the train showed up or not! I highly recommend this bar...and from now I plan to leave myself EXTRA time before any train out of Wilmington so I can stop in again.

Our favorite spot in Wilmington for Sunday Brunch! The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable ( and make the BEST bloody marys in town) and they serve a surprising selection of craft brews. The feel is divey and clean (exactly what you are looking for on a Sunday morning after a long night!) and you are always greeted with a warm hello! We often meet here when friends are in from out of town because it's located right next to the train station. A trip back to NYC isn't complete without a "Shimosa" or a Bloody Mary ($3 during brunch). The place is also covered in flat screens so it's ideal for football Sundays. I also hear they attrack a pretty good lunch crowd from the local businesses. The pub food is excellent and very reasonably priced. I usually opt for the scrapple/egg/cheese on Texas toast (don't miss out on the home fries) and my fiance loves the wings. We also come here to watch football and for dinner some nights - their burgers are great and there grilled cheese, yup grilled cheese at the bar, is to die for! I am a BIG fan a fries so plenty of options to choose from here! Overall a great neighborhood pub with a great staff!

Spent the afternoon last Saturday there with my wife and son. Since we were walking our dog we had to stay at the outdoor tables. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because this area could be improved, as other restaurants around have done. But overall, we loved the food and the service. Will definitely return.

We hit this place up before a show at the Queen, using a recent Groupon that I purchased to check them out. I drive by the spot every day on my way home from work and was curious to see what it was all about. First impression was great. The staff and patrons were friendly and the bar had a divey feel, but was well lit and clean. We liked it. We took some suggestions and ordered the Shenanigan wings (Monday special was $.40 a wing), and some sandwiches. I chose the reuben, based on the other review, and was told that they bake their own corned beef in house. Love that! He also recommended the irish stew, which I would have tried had I not been going to a concert afterwords. The wings were the best that I've had in Wilmington so far. Crispy, but not breaded. Not sinewy or fatty, and the Shenanigans sauce was a thin but sticky, sweet and spicy one. They were really, really good. The reuben was delicious at first bite. Really good corned beef, nice bread, good distribution of ingredients. Unfortunately, it was very, very greasy. the bread was completely saturated with oil or butter and it really became the primary focus once I finished my first half. I passed along most of the second to my husband. Fries and onion rings were good, but also very greasy, and my partners liked the burger & chicken cheesesteaks. Now, I want to define my 3 star review. I will totally go here again given the wings, the reasonable pricing, and the vibe. The first star was lost because of the greasiness. This meal really sat with all of us for the rest of the night. The second was because of some weird upcharges. I ordered my sandwich and he mentioned that they had Gaelic fries, crab fries, and regular. I assumed this was a choice and selected Gaelic. My husband also ordered his sandwich and then asked for the onion rings (listed on the menu as $1.50 upcharge). When our meals came we each had fries on our plate, plus a large side each of onion rings & Gaelic fries. I mentioned it and he said something along the lines of that the sandwiches all come with fries. I shrugged it off, but we were charged $7 for the Gaelic fries & $5 or 6 for the onion rings. If we didn't have a Groupon I would have asked for them to be taken off the bill, but didn't want to be "that person". Overall, I will definitely go again but will order much differently and be a little more careful about what I add to my order. I'm too much of a sucker for good wings to not give them another chance!
