I decided to finally stop in and grab something togo and was very impressed! I asked the gentlemen at the counter what he would recommend since everything sounded so good and ended up going with the Shar-Pei. I am so glad I did!! It is a grilled panini with prosciutto, bri, apples, champagne mustard and comes on multigrain bread. It tasted devine! It also came with a pickle spear and my choice of chips or carrots (I got baked lays). The sandwich was so good that I wish I had tried this place sooner! My mom got an Iced chai and it was soo yummy!! Not like any other ice chai I've had in the regard that it reminded me of gingerbread cookies, but it was to die for :) Keep up the good work!

Was having a soup craving so a friend recommended this place. Saw they had a combo that had a full soup and half sandwich so I felt that would be perfect. I ordered the half roast beef panini with chicken noodle soup in a sourdough bread bowl (extra $1) and a Pure Leaf Peach tea. My bill was over $13.00 and I was trying to figure out why. The freaking tea cost $2.89!!!!! That's what I get for not asking the price of things. As for the food, the sandwich was good. I wish I was having a sandwich craving instead of soup. 1st off the size of a "full" soup is about the same size as a cup of a little girl's tea cup set. I would have been better off going to the market and buying a can of store brand soup because it had no flavor to it. Just broth, chicken and very few veggies. The sourdough bread bowl was worth the extra $1 though. I'd go back for the sandwich or to try other sandwiches as it was hard to make up my mind but I would not get soup from there and I definitely will buy my drink from somewhere else. I got my food to go but it was very clean on the inside, the staff was friendly and I saw signs for free wifi so that is a plus.

This is a cute idea to name the sandwiches after dog breeds and grilled muffins. However, I did not enjoy the grilled red velvet muffin and I probably won't be ordering from their bakery section again. I have yet to try a sandwich because I am allergic to yeast...it would be nice to have more selections made in the form of wraps! I overall a nice place to stop for lunch if you are stuck downtown in a pinch but not one of my favorite places so far.

I ran across @purebreaddeli a couple of months ago when i was working in Wilmington. After my initial visit where I had their version of a Caprese salad with prosciutto and a cup of Maryland crab soup, I made a point to come back for two consecutive days and order the same thing which if you know me, is NOT normal behavior. It's a great "go to" lunch spot with good food, free wifi and decent prices.

Grabbed lunch here while traveling for work in Wilmington and was pleased with the choice. As previous reviewers have stated, it's alot like Panera/Paradise Bakery/Corner Bakery so if you like that style of food you'll be more than happy here. They seem to focus a bit more on the cafe type options over the bakery "treats" though, so this may not be the place to grab some bagels or muffins in the morning. The menu offers some great choices outside of your standard turkey sandwich or salad with chicken and has several vegetarian options as well. Basically you order at the counter an wait for your food to be ready (they don't deliver to your table). Service was quick and efficient even though we came in a few minutes after 12 during the middle of the week. I will say that the ordering area is small and I can imagine it getting easily overcrowded during peak times. There was ample seating available and the dining area itself was pretty clean. I went with the Roasted Veggie salad and was more than happy with my selection. All the vegetables were very fresh and there was not a limp piece of lettuce in sight! All of my coworkers seemed to enjoy their lunches as well (everything from basic sandwiches to paninis) so I don't think you can really go wrong here. Definitely a great spot for a quick and relatively inexpensive and healthy lunch. I would easily return if I'm in the area again.

We were looking for a place to grab some food and relax a little bit before going to the Blue Rocks game that night when we stumbled upon this gem of a deli. The theme and decor were awesome. I really liked all the food being named after dogs. I, myself, had the hound dog. It was a hot panini with crunchy peanut butter with bananas, honey, and cinnamon. If I lived near one of these, I would definitely be there at least once a week. The thought that they show locally submitted pics of local's dogs is a great way to show how they are involved in the community.

When you need either a soup, a salad, or a sandwich, and if you find yourself magically whisked away to Wilmington, Delaware, this is as good a place as any. The soups are their bread and butter. I like the potato on a wintry day, but if it's merely brisk, I like the black bean, even though it's spicy and makes me sweat like a priest at a deposition. The salads are crisp. I had been getting the garden salad with a Ken's ranch packet for a while, and then switched to the Ken's low-fat ranch packet. Turns out I like the taste of Ken's fat. I like the soup, as I said. But it was kind of weird once when I saw a worker take out a GIANT plastic bag of potato soup to pour it into smaller serving bowls. There is something unappealing about a huge bag of soup that I can't quite describe. Huge bags of soup. As for the sandwiches, don't be fooled by the names. They are all named after dogs, but none of the sandwiches actually have dog meat in them. Take the Newfoundland - turkey, bacon, pepperjack, chipotle mayo on cheddar bread - but no Newfoundland meat at all. It's just a spicy, warm, crispy grilled panini that makes me want to give Wilmington a big kiss as I walk back to work. - Billy Bluewater

Excellent salads, fresh spinach, friendly employees. This is a hot spot for a quick, semi-healthy lunch in Wilmington's business district, located conveniently across the street from the central YMCA and next door to a U.S. Post Office which makes it a convenient stop if you're at the gym, working in one of the near by office buildings or need to make that unfortunate, frustrating post office run. Prices run a little high; regardless of what's on it, a salad just shouldn't cost $10 or more unless it contains lobster or white truffle; Mine had neither yet the salad and a bottle of water was about $12. I've had a couple of their soups and would pass on the crab chowder (or perhaps they call it cream of crab, I'm not sure). Either way, most of the soups taste a bit too processed, very high in sodium and not necessarily shop made. Still, not a bad place for lunch.

This place is HUGE. I don't understand how they can even come close to filling half of the seats in this place. With that said, the manager that took my order was incredibly friendly and engaged me in a pleasant conversation. I must have appeared from out of town (perhaps it was my suit and laptop bag) because he asked me where I was visiting from. With that said, the coffee was OK, but not incredible, and the pistachio muffin (dayglo green!) was WAYYYY to sweet. It probably had 800 calories in the damn thing. Would I go out of my way to stop in again? Probably not, but if I am doing business in the vicinity I will definitely stop in for the atmosphere alone. Hey, what can I say, I like dogs.

This is a really nice place. Its very relaxing, you can sit back with friends and chat while you'll enjoy the different coffee flavors. They also have a fire place that I enjoy each time I visit. Prices are not too high. Nice spot.

After taking an hour long train ride out of Philadelphia, the first thing on my mind was food. My boyfriend mother kept raving about her favorite place to grab lunch when in the area for business. Her favorite place happened to have all sorts of sandwiches named after dogs. At first I didn't get it, but after walking in the door I caught on real quick. The atmosphere is very open and bright. Surprisingly quite busy during the afternoon lunch time hours. I ordered a Golden Retriever and some sun chips. The bread was fresh and it was all made to order. Definitely a fan of a good sandwich shop. I live nowhere near this little place, but I'd certainly eat here again if given the chance.

This place reminds me most closely of Panera, but with way better choices! Free fast wifi, great coffee bar selection (I'm always happy to see a Kona blend), and surprisingly generous portions of food. My boss had an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel and it was massive (compared to my usual dunkin donuts sandwiches). I got the half salad/half sandwich combo (spinach/french poodle) - the salad was an entire meal unto itself and both were delicious. My other coworker got a full salad, forget which one, but it was ENORMOUS. This turned out to be a great way to kill time in Wilmington before a 12:30 business meeting. For future meetings, I'll continue to fly into PHL and make the drive down early enough to stop by here beforehand!

I'm so thankful that Purebread opened this location, and I'm sure they are too, since they're making a killing thanks all the tenants in the 500 Delaware Ave building. Sammiches are tasty and varied, ingredients are fresh, the soups are decent, the place is immaculate, and the decor is a bit precious but squeee-worthy if you like dogs. And yay: free wifi. The lunch lines are very long, but they move pretty fast. Only drawback: They close at 4pm. Come on Wilmington, nobody is gonna hang out in town if y'all are closing up at 4.

The place is gorgeous inside and comfortable, the staff is friendly, they move through a lunch line like no tomorrow and all the sandwiches that I have tried are pretty good. What I do not like it the 'franchised' feel of the place and the inflated prices. But without wanting to drive to another part of the city I will gladly hit up Purebread for the occasional meal.

I had lunch at this little gem the other day. We tend to do alot of overnights in Wilmington Delaware and thank god I found this place. So far I have only had a few sandwiches, but what I have experienced so far is pretty damn good. The bread on the sandwiches is amazing. These are some of the best sandwiches I have had. I will be returning as soon as I find myself in Wilmington again. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Went here for lunch, very good food, I had the corn beef sandwich (I believe its called the sidekicker), and it was very very good. Definitely recommend!
