Event: Happy Hour- or better put, not so happy hour. Where to begin.... The location is convenient, the space is nice and it's your typical pizza bar. The drink specials are great but if your looking for deals on food, look again. You may as well go to a real happy hour and then come here for cheap drinks. Despite the no deal on food I ordered the app combo. It was good minus the pound of dry fries and Sauceless boneless wings. I was unaware that boneless buffalo wings do not come with sauce unless asked for. Sorry grotto that's a fail on your staff. Don't blindside a customer like that. Other than the lack of care to their customers, it's ok for a quick and cheap drink. Recommendation: Go to a bar.

Got some takeout from here and wasn't disappointed. Very yummy loaded fries and honey BBQ wings. Their pizza is yummy as well but just make sure to get toppings!

I like to stop in this grotto at least once a month. Staff always friendly, half price apps and great beer specials. It can get a little loud late night, but it is a bar.

Whenever I'm in Wilmington I make the trip to Grotto Pizza. I have no idea why though, the food is pretty shitty.

Ok The pizza is good I will agree with that but a bit on the expensive side fact is it's only pizza.bar is very noisy had a large pepperoni and large cheese fries for almost $30. I was told it was a must try by friends so I will not be going back for those prices. Oh and you have to fight through a crowd of smokers to get into the place

I've given up on this shithole. Restaurant is usually dirty and the delivery is the worst! They messed my order up more times than I can count. Seriously, who the hell forgets cheese on a pizza and gives raw frozen fries to people? Never again.

Have not gone back to this place ever since we went there for a pizza and they served it so cold that it must have just been left in the kitchen a very long time. When we said something the waitress seemed annoyed and took the pizza back...still brought it back "just warm" and then brought some "almost frozen" sauce to put on the pizza claiming that it "seemed dry"....LOL....We did not want to BOTHER her again so we ate a slice each and then just left. They used to have good pizza there and it has progressively gone down in the last year or so. We actually have had better luck with the Grottos on Concord Pike...better atmosphere and the food is always hot, without bad attitudes....

The food wasn't bad, but this place is seriously raunchy. Absolutely FILTHY! The front entry and dining area look like a fraternity house. The window sills and corners have visible dirt ... and the bathrooms look like they should be in a prison. Management needs to pay some serious attention to the hygiene in this place : (

I went to college in Delaware and Grottos was a staple while there. In the passing years my taste buds have grown up a bit but I still have happy memories of sitting around a table and sharing a pizza and a pitcher of beer with my roommates Fast forward a decade plus and I recently met one of my old roomies for lunch at this location. The pizza was still solid. The personal lunch size was perfect to share with my two year old and it came with a small salad. They have a kids menu too. They have nice salads and sandwiches too. But really, you goto Grottos for the pizza. Prices are fairly inexpensive. This was a large location with a full bar and outside seating. Our server was sweet and attentive.

My mom loved this pizza. I thought it was alright too. The restaurant's atmosphere was okay.Service was fine, not particularly awesome. The crust was SO delicious and thin, it was my favorite part of the pizza. I did love the fact we got free popcorn as an appitizer. It was a creative spin, I thought. My mom did LOVE their pizza though, so I'd give it four stars just for the pizza! Overall, a nice pizza parlor.

If you are into GREASY pizza this is THE PLACE. (yes I know pizza are meant to be greasy, but this place really pours the grease on). I personally do not like greasy food with excessive oil. I really do not understand this place. Most of the people I talk to are in love with Grotto's. I just think this place is more like Domino's pizza with extra grease. To me, this is not a "specialty" pizza place as the ones you find in NYC or Chicago, this is more of a chain pizza type of a place with the extra grease

Okay, so the pizza is not empirically good, per se - but you know when you associate really, really pleasant memories with food, and by complete association of this foodstuff - when you eat it, it tastes so much better because of that association? Grotto's Pizza is one of those foodstuffs for me. The pizza, crust, sauce and cheese is generic, sauce veers towards sweet, and the whole lot can be really greasy at times, but it is perfect for what it is. The association? It was the pizza of 'yore, consumed by me in my younger years sometimes by the beach, sometimes in Newark - but this particular location holds a special place in my heart. Good memories galore. When times were simpler and when pizza was just that: Pizza. Like all other Grotto's, it has a long history in Delaware and it is super family friendly. You can bring all generations here, grab a basket of free popcorn on your way in - celebrate a kid's birthday - it's that kind of wholesome place . Menu is straight-forward, your standard fried fare with a children's menu offering little in the way of healthy, but more wings, cheesesteaks, pizza, full stop. The bar at this particular location used to be far more intimate, but they've made it bigger in the last five years. This is a good location to watch a game and meet up with friends for some pre-drinking (cheap big draft mugs) in Trolley Square, or if need be post-drinking pizza eating. No need for a detour or special stop unless you're already in the 'hood.

This is the closest you will get to the beach this side of the Canal. Only thing that keeps this place from being five stars is that I cant smell the ocean and I dont have to play defense against seagulls with my slice. That sweet sauce combined with the cheddar, american and mozz cheeses make this stuff as addictive to me as a fat kid to chocolate. Spring, Winter or Fall this place can make you feel like summer...

Good, greasy, basic pizza - a little expensive for what it is. Plus they sell gelato, subs & salads.

upgrade! I am indeed a fan. after several more delicious tries, I think grotto's is my favorite gluten-free pizza (it's made by still riding) in the area. it's now $9 instead of $10 as printed on the menu, which is nice. the crust is crisp while the mid-crust is as close to chewy as you can get without gluten. it's a lot like eating real pizza. they also have redbridge at the bar (which is a pretty good beer whether you are GF or not). also, I'm impressed with the customer service. delivery is quick and they handled a problem with my order super well, sending out a redelivery ASAP (croutons on my salad! no bueno!). NB: some people in the GF community have said they've had problems getting the wrong pizza, so I'd double check to make sure your pizza is in fact the GF version before you chow down.

This has been my favorite pizza in DE for a very long time. My go-yo pie: The Pepperoni Bianco. It is amazing. Their food is OK and a bit pricey, but the pizza is well worth it.

Garbage overpriced pizza. $18 for mushy dough with mass production cheese melted barely on top. And the lovely sight of every possible New Castle County white tattooed thug guy drinking Buds and chain smoking on the porch. Skip it.

This is a Review of Grotto Pizza in general...Excellent Pizza! They use White Cheddar instead of Mozzarello, and they put the cheese on first so the sauce doesn't make the crust soggy. This is definitely a must have if you're at the Delaware shore!

So the pizza is decent as long as the 10 buck one topping special continues. Decent won't cut it when the price for a one topping pizza climbs to 14/15 dollars. Also the "jumbo chicken tenders" for 8.99? You only get 4.
