You will never look at ice cream the same way again. And yes, you can try as many as you would like while you are deciding which to order. My personal favorites include: Amarena Black Cherry Swirl & Mediterranean Sea Salt Caramel. The texture of gelato is smooth, luscious and rich. It is an savory dessert not to be eaten in haste. It is to be enjoyed and savored. Yes, it is that good. I use to be an ice cream lover. Loving Breyers, Turkey Hill, Edy's and even the occasional custard from a place like Rita's. Not anymore. Now I will accept nothing less then the best. Bonus is that gelato has 1/2 to 1/3 the fat as regular ice cream and no additional sugar added. You heard me right. Don't believe me? Check out their website. It is that freakin' good.

A variety of yummy flavors. Everything was delicious and super creamy. A must when visiting the mall.

I tried their gelato for the first time and can firmly say I am not impressed. I ordered the small (with 3 scoops) to share with my boyfriend. The flavors were strong, but not in a good way. It was overly sweet & tasted artificial. We tried many different samples before finally choosing 3-- strawberry, chocolate, & coffee. Neither of us finished our small cup of gelato, it was a disappointment.

This is pretty good, but I've had better from a pint from the grocery store. They give you a lot for the price, but the gelato is just average. I much prefer the chocolate shavings in my stracciatella to be mixed with the ice cream.

After trying Paciugo for the first time, I have to say; I'm hooked. Their gelato is sweet, creamy, and delicious! You're allowed to sample their flavors for free, and you can order multiple flavors for one serving. I had Brown Sugar Waffle Cone, Sea Salt Caramel, and Strawberry Milk (one small scoop of each, for the small serving). Each flavor was true to the title, and all of them were delicious.

If you have never tried gelato, now's the time to give it a shot. Paciugo in the Christiana Mall (near the future site of Target) has great tasting and looking gelato, the real authentic stuff. The super friendly staff is more than willing to give you a free sample spoonful of any of their flavors and I highly recommend you give it a shot. We sampled the key lime, amaretto chocolate chip, and the goldfish flavored gelatos. Being from Florida, I'm pretty particular about my key lime flavored things - most places make key lime pie/ice cream too sweet but Paciugo made it perfectly. The amaretto chocolate chip gelato is one that you should absolutely taste - it was perfect. The goldfish flavored one tasted just like putting a handful of those little orange snack crackers in your mouth - interesting, but not really my thing for dessert. Anyway, try them out. I really want to grab one of their expresso over gelato options - sounds damned good.

I've never been much for ice cream, but then I discovered gelato :) My first gelato experience was at a gelataria in Atlantic City. I had Zabaglione gelato (Sabayon-italian custard w/ grand marnier) I was hooked and my heavens it was good! I've since been to a variety of places including the Carousel in St Maarten-amazing pistacio btw. Anyway my point is I'm a gelato nut and I shudder to think someone said grocery store gelato was better then Paciugos-yikes lol. I think Paciugos has great quality gelatos. My favorites are the peppermint and the panacotta. Amaretto Chocolate Chip, Lavendar and Rosa are also quite delicate and refreshing. I'm not a fan of the Sea Salt Caramel- a bit too salty for my taste buds but my sister adores that flavor. The staff will let you sample as many flavors as you like so don't be afraid to ask and try something different!

Love it. As close as I've had in Delaware to Italian gelato. Very nice people and its clear they love gelato. My faves are rosa, pistacchio, pana(when it's avail) banana. Can't wait for summer seasonal new flaves. Love to let my little one run around the play area and then enjoy gelato. Mm Che buono !

Gelato, the Italian cousin to American-style ice cream, is rich and creamy even though it contains much less fat than its American counterpart. There's a lower butterfat content in gelato, not to mention -- oftentimes -- less sugar. And the high, creamy density of gelato is guaranteed because much less air (or overage) is allowed into the final product. It's really a premium treat. I've had bad experiences with mall gelato before. In particular, gelato featured in the unnamed kiosk in the Christiana Mall's food court has always underwhelmed. For some reason, I would continue to go back and try one of the gelateria's three-dozen flavors in the hopes that I would eventually find one that could be worthy of the title "gelato." Never realizing that insanity is simply doing the same thing over and over, but expecting different results, I kept going. So I'd become disillusioned with the "other" mall gelato. Then, while walking among the zombies at the mall tonight, I came upon a new gelateria tucked at the back of the mall. Called Paciugo, I had a tough time pronouncing it at first and decided to give up all attempts as I got closer to the glass window protecting the three-dozen-or-so flavors of gelato. I wonder if the counter-girl had to come out with some Windex after I'd left, because I very likely left a long trail of drool as my eyes pored over the delectable selections. "You can try as many as you'd like," the counter girl said. Well, damn! I could have been there all night. But, I decided to show restraint. I just wanted to try two: Black Pepper and Olive Oil (fabulously sweet and just a wee-bit spicy) and the Goldfish (YES! Goldfish.) Both were spectacular. I decided to go with a medium. With a medium, you're able to get up to four scoops of gelato. Now, the scoops are small, but they all add up to a hefty serving. If you'd prefer just a flavor or two, I'm sure they'll accommodate, but I wanted to try as much as I could. I went with the Goldfish, dark chocolate, wild berry sorbet, and sea-salt caramel. I had no complaints. What makes these even better is Paciugo says they use no artificial flavors or preservatives. As someone who's made gelato and sorbetto before, I often have a hard time achieving a pleasurable consistency without using some sort of stabilizing gums. I wonder if Paciugo uses them? Either way, everything I tried was above satisfactory. The gelato had the appropriate mouth-feel (something I found lacking from the OTHER mall gelato!) as well as excellent flavor. The dark chocolate, in particular, tasted DARK. It had a slight bitterness (which I love) that was cut just slightly by the sugar to balance it out. I'm looking forward to returning to Paciugo to try even more of their flavors. I'm guessing it's going to take me a couple visits before I can decide on my favorite -- there being so many choices!

Has tons of flavors (yay for Green tea and Irish coffee!), but there are better tasting gelato cafes on Main Street. Paciugo is good if you want decent gelato at the mall, but it's definitely not the best.
