My husband loves this place, and we eat here on average about every 2 weeks. I give the restaurant 3 stars because sometimes the service can be hit or miss, mostly it's on point. I also think it's a bit overpriced for Mexican food, compared to the other restaurants I've been to. I also wish their combination section was better. My husband bounces between the enchilada's supreme and the house platter, and he orders it with fajita chicken (not shredded), and it's never a problem. The queso is legit, as well as the pico that comes with the chips and salsa!

I've eaten here twice, once at night and then again for lunch. Let me say this now, only go here for dinner. Dinner was wonderful, the food was fresh and delicious, the service was remarkable, and the atmosphere was authentic. Lunch didn't go so well, it wasn't nearly as fresh and was more congealed than anything. It just wasn't that great, but if you're sticking to dinner, I would definitely plan it here.

I am a total taco addict. (Isn't the first step to recovery admitting my addiction?) That being said, I didn't love Morelia. The ambiance was decent, the service was prompt and friendly but I feel like the food fell short of good. The enchiladas would fine (but I wouldn't call them good), the quesadillas were decent and the tacos deserve 3 stars... This is one of those Mexican restaurants where everything on your place runs together and congeals. I don't necessarily have a problem with that kind of Mexican food, but when you have something not-so-good on your plate, it can be a bad thing. I'd go back but only because there are only a few decent Mexican restaurants in Delaware.

This is Tex-mex food & nothing more, and not much better than the aforementioned Tonalteca or Tolteca. Was here on Cinco Da Mayo & the cast of characters eating here was scary. Best Mex I have found in DE remains Tiajuana Taco Shop & the place on Rt 40 that has fairly authentic Mexican food (which most people wouldn't know if it hit them in the head)but whose name escapes me at the minute. This is a great place for a $2 beer but eat somewhere else.

looking for what I call street mexican, plain mexican food. Was very impressed, 3 in the afternoon, ordered a chicken quesadilla and cheese enchiladas. chips were very good, but the mole sauce was excellent. Both entrées were very good with a great chipotle taste. one of the better street meals I've encountered.

I'm a huge fan of Morelia's. I go there for lunch 2-3 times a month. Their enchiladas mexican style is amazing. It has a great balance of flavor with some spice, balanced with the cilantro and onions on top. Great food. Great service.

Stopped here with 2 coworkers back in April because the place we wanted to visit was closed. The $5 frozen margaritas were fantastic, and the waitress brought us chips and salsa, and asked if we wanted some queso too. She didn't mention it was extra, and we didn't eat much of it because it was a runny mess. The bartender tried to charge us an extra $5, but took it off once we complained that the waitress made it seem like it was included, we didn't order it! I would go back to try the menu, the food looked and smelled delicious.

My mom and I were craving nachos, so we decided to give Morelio a try. It ended up being the worst food we've ever had! The salsa came out first; that should have been the first sign for us to leave. The salsa was dried out but also soggy and looked like it had been sitting out for days. We decided to order the beef nachos and 2 regular margaritas. The margaritas were warm and tasted too sugary. The cheese on the nachos was not melted, the lettuce was soggy, the chips were burnt, and the beef looked like cat food. We took about 2 sips and 2 bites and decided that we needed to leave. The service was not very sincere and the waitress seemed to be rushing us even though the restaurant was empty. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Also, the restaurant had an un-clean vibe to it.

I've been here several time and enjoyed myself. Tonight's visit will be my last! Friend and I ordered a round of beers. The waitress looks at his ID and starts laughing out loud about how long his neck looks in the picture. She was literally showing his ID to other customers! I'm not sure why we didn't get up and leave. She then proceeded to bring us the wrong beer (too caught up in her amusement to care I suppose) and mess up our orders. Service was incredibly slow, we spent over an hour in a mostly empty dining room for 12 tacos and two beers. This was possibly my worst restaurant experience ever...

Food was decent but we waited too long for the food (30 mnt or more)... The waitress didn't even apologized when we asked her if our food was coming. I wasn't that hungry luckily otherwise I'll be so pissed off.

Authentic Mexican at its finest in Delaware. I love the ethnic feel of the restaurant-- Mexican music, old Mexican photos, and cool little figurines. And the food is really great. This isn't your Don Pablo's, that's for sure.

I love Mexican food and this is the place I go for good Mexican food. My favorite is the carnitas chimichanga. The rice has veggies in but not much flavor so I add some of the spicy thin salsa that is left over from the free chips and salsas. I love their beans. The steak tacos are authentic and tasty. I don't like seafood so I have not tried any of their seafood dishes. I have tried some of their more authentic dishes like chicken in a jalapeño & cactus sauce that was very spicy but too delicious to stop eating. This place is much better than any other Mexican restaurants in the area. You know the food is good when you are dining along side Mexicans and people who moved to the area from Texas.

Love this place. It's definitely one of those unique finds. I feel like many people overlook it. Perhaps the location? Not sure however I know I love it. The staff has always been very friendly and very attentive. The food is amazing and the prices are not bad either. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I went here last night. The food was bland, the prices too high and the portions were small. The only good thing was the beer.

This place is awesome! Salsa was fresh diced, onions, tomatoes, etc. Never had better anywhere else. But the real winner was the cilantro sauce on the chicken enchiladas. I would highly recommend this restaurant and if I lived in this state I would go there every week.

This is mexican done right I abso- despise La tolteca and its chain bull s*&t food . have eaten here countless times. at one point when i worked in newark i got my weekly fix. I am however the type of person who orders the same thing everytime i go -Cheese enchiladas with the mole sauce and rice , marggie or a pacifico to wash it all down with. OH the rice -its fluffy and fried all at the same time and the veggies add a hint of healthy eating ! This is mexican done right. chips and salsa cant get enough of it ... the spciey sauce is perfect for pouring on top of my enchilada and pairs of so well with a mexican inspired cocktail. the have put fish tacos on the menu so i may have to try something new.

Morelia started off with no name, but they finally got a name so you call them something other then "that mexican place". The restaurant is convenient and easy to get to, especially if you work in the area. The food was very good, i went with a pork burrito for lunch. The tortilla was fairly standard fair, but the pork filling was tender and juicy. While good the pork did not have a rich complex smokey flavor that would have pushed it up to 4 stars. Rice was well cooked without hard areas or mushy portions. Beans were average, not bad but nothing out of the ordinary (they are beans after all). The chips were crisp and salty with a great fresh salsa. The tomatoes were firm and juicy with fresh onions with just enough bite to them but not to overpower the salsa. There were also hints of citrus that brightened up the flavor a bit. The service was excellent. Wait staff was quick, polite, and efficient. Food was made, plated, and served very fast during lunch. Overall I am very happy with Morelia for a lunch during the work day that can get you back to the office in a reasonable amount of time with good food. As a plus you do not leave smelling like the food or smoke.

Great spot for a lunch or happy hour. Delicious guacamole and low prices! Went on a Saturday for apps and drinks. My bill came to like $13 for a beer, margarita and quesadilla.

Please. Open the door to air thick with fryer grease and a waitress whose pretty smile was her redeemer. The food tasted like Burger King with added jalapenos. I have found that most ethnic restaurants 'Americanize" their food for our enjoyment, but they have taken it too far, or low as the case may be. If you like fat fast food then you'll like Morelia. If you want more authentic Mexican food try El Jefe on Kirkwood Highway.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
