A decent place with an interesting atmosphere. I was a bit surprised to find a "diner" feel, upon entering - but at the end of the day, it was different than other places in the area, so I was appreciating it. The staff was friendly - even if they were a bit slow to take orders. The food itself was quite good. Not the best burger I've ever had - but I'd say it's in the top 10 best I've ever had. They have tons of options, with thousands of possible burger combinations. The order was accurate - but it took a bit longer than I'd have liked. The place is quick to tell you (and there are signs) that they are NOT fast food - as they cook your food to order, so it's not like they hide the fact that your food may take a few extra minutes. Overall, I give this place four stars - primarily due to speed of service in general. Perhaps they could implement a way to help speed up the process - and servers could be a bit more attentive/quick to take orders, etc. With that said, I'll gladly eat here again - I just know what to expect for next time by way of timing.

I like Cheeburger Cheeburger. Not as much as I wanted to. I've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food. The first time I ate here I tried to convince myself the burger was great. That's because the atmosphere is so fun and lively. Retro decor, a true 50's diner feel and a great diner style menu. All of these things add up to a great experience. I anxiously awaited the grand opening of Cheeburger. Seems it took them forever to finally open their doors. They have been up and running a good while now and seem to always have a full house. Even on off season for the UofD. The fact of the matter is their burgers are good but certainly not great. What IS great about them is the option to completely customize your burger. Choose everything from the size of your burger (i believe it even goes up to a pound) to unlimited topping combinations. They have a bunch of options for toppings including lots of free ones or some paid toppings. Choose from these toppings to create the burger of your dreams. Why I say these burgers are not great is because they lack seasoning and the meat is not top quality. Put enough salt and fixing on them and you've got a decent burger. They also have the option to create your own fries combo. Choose from a variety of toppings. I have had their fries and don't recall being too thrilled about them. I did however like the onion rings though the were a bit greasy. Milkshakes! Choose from tons of options to make your own milkshake extravaganza. You can choose the full or half size milkshake. Half size is a full milkshake glass size. I'm guessing the full comes with a refill. For me the milkshake was very tasty but could have been thicker. One thing I didn't like was my waitress brought my milkshake before my meal and because it was so thin it was gone before my meal even arrived. I would have prefered to have it with or even after my meal. All in all Cheeburger Cheeburger is a super fun place you will enjoy. The food is good and you can be as creative as you like. With all the options for customization you never have to have the same meal twice.

Great location, cool decor, friendly service. I got the "most ordered" 1/3 lb burger and it is way more than enough food. There are TONS of toppings, mostly free, that you can add to your burger. Fries were good, not the most amazing but they will do. Prices are reasonable. It is great for a burger after a night of a few beverages.

Cute diner decor! The food is decent, there are many options for sizes of burgers and toppings. The best thing they do is the milkshakes in flavor combinations to please everyone! The fries are quite good.

Yes, I am doing another burger review. I can't help myself. Cheeburger Cheeburger is a rather middle of the road kind of burger joint. It does some things nicely, and other things not so well, but is a fairly decent place if you're hungry and like kitsch. I imagine the name is a play on the old John Belushi/Billy Murray/Dan Aykroyd Saturday Night Live skit at the Olympia Diner ("Cheeburger Cheeburger...no Coke, Pepsi"). I might be wrong, but they don't serve Coke and the waitress didn't get the joke when I asked for Pepsi. Granted, she was born after John Belushi died so I'm not surprised. OK, the food: The burger was overcooked--why can't people get medium rare right?--and the meat was nothing exciting. The onion rings were nice, as were the fries, but we passed on shakes because we were going to the UD Creamery for ice cream later. So while this place was convenient and busy with all the local college kids, I'm not sure I would seek it out the next time I'm in Delaware.

If you like your food fried (which I'm embarrassed to say I sometimes do) this is a good place to come to. The fried artichoke hearts are very okay leaning towards good. The fries are excellent. The place is kind of dirty and doesn't look all that cared for, but for a fast bite, what do expect?

Worst service and super, super slow!! Don't come here unless you have 2 hours to kill!! Geez. It's ridiculous. Wish I had known. I think there is only 1 guy on the grill for the whole restaurant. Normally wouldn't care but it took forever for the waiter to even acknowledge us. Bad mistake on our part!!

Good burgers-- only complaint was that we ordered takeout and had never eaten here before, asked for a double patty burger and it by itself was over $14! Won't make that mistake again. I wish this was explained when we placed the order-- would have just gone with the reg size, bc it was more than enough.

On a road trip and had a craving for a big juicy burger. Found Cheeburger Cheeburger through Yelp and it fit the bill. Looks like a diner and was practically empty on a slightly snowy Saturday afternoon. I love food but don't really eat a lot so I got the smallest cheeseburger with a few toppings and a small fry with horseradish dipping sauce. Food came out pretty quickly and was good. The cheese was gooey and perfectly melted and the burger was cooked to a perfect medium. Fries were good and I did enjoy the dipping sauce. I'm rating CC three stars which means I'd go back. I don't think it's anything special but the food was good and I liked the atmosphere.

The amazing 1950's kitschy theme should get 5 stars alone! I love how everything is pink and adorable, and with great midcentury tunes playing over the radio, I am in total heaven! The milkshakes are amazing. Seriously, they are *amazing*. They have a million different flavors and you can mix and match to create your own. The food is pretty standard diner-ish, food. Not very healthy and not the best I've had. My only complaint about Cheeburger Cheeburger are the hours. They're only open until 9pm. In a college town, it's a bit odd to close so earlier and if they were open later, I'd probably be here a few times a week.

Love this place for the milkshakes-put pick all your flavors. The music is good and the decor is retro and fun. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because the price, it has gone up in the past year.

First of all the rating is for the milkshake. It was a chocolate banana shake and was delicious. It was made in front to order in front of me while I waited. It was thick and creamy with a rich chocolate taste. The chocolate taste was similar to a dark chocolate flavor with some toasted notes and not overly sweet. It was a nice counterpoint with the mild sweetness of the banana. The highlight was that there were actual chunks of banana in the shake. The staff was friendly, courteous, and quick. The diner design is a retro design and comfortable with an inviting atmosphere.

I went for lunch today. I was greeted by a kind waitress who took our drink orders. My friend and I ordered pepsis and the Mason Jar glasses were nice. I ordered the 1/2 pound burger and my friend ordered a salad. I like how you can choose what toppings you want on it for free. The burger was pretty good but nothing amazing. Klondike Kate's burger is the best and Iron Hill follows. It was around 12:00 when we left and we decided we'd walk Main Street for a while and then come back for the milkshake happy hour. We came back to meet a very bubbly and kind waitress with the name of Marissa. She was double as nice as the last waitress. The milkshakes were really delicious and we left a very generous tip for our waitress. At the next table over, a fight erupted among two customers and our past waitress. The women had been sitting for nearly 45 minutes and they still hadn't received their burger and fries. The waitress was extremely disrespectful towards them and said that this isn't fast food and rolled her eyes. We couldn't believe it! The two poor women were being extremely kind to the waitress but she was being a jerk back! I wasn't able to catch her name but if you go avoid her! She had brown and blonde hair and is tall. If you avoid the rude waitress, your experience will be good. I went in again and got a very sweet waitress with the name of Sarah! She was so nice and catered to my every need! I also overheard another waitress, Ayline- she was really nice as well! If you go, request Marissa, Sarah, or Ayline and your experience will be great!

cheeburger is a good stop if your in a mood for burgers and fries. i had The Serious Burger which was a nice size! (10 ounces) they have a 20 ounce burger but that's too much for my blood! I ordered my burger medium/well and it was cooked correctly but they did burn the outside reason for 3 stars as I had to scrape off the burnt part. The Oreo cheesecake shake was God's Gift!!! do get the large you will want more... The sweet potatoe fries and the marshmellow dip was everything!! Overall good service, can't complain!!

Amazing Burger! Amazing Fries! Amazing service (Marissa is an angel). Sadly I didn't leave room for one of their legendary shakes. I love a good burger and this is the place. I also got a toy car made out of paper, so epic. My one tiny gripe is that I got a ticket for not feeding the meter. Maybe I should have got a smaller burger.

I always drove past this place, but never really thought much to go in and eat there. I saw plenty of good reviews on Yelp, so I figured I'd give it a try. Boy was I one happy girl after eating here. The burgers are so juicy and cooked exactly to order. My favorite is the semi-serious with buffalo sauce, ranch, provolone, and bacon. The fries are awesome and their cheese sauce is the best I've ever had. It's so smooth and creamy. I got a malt chocolate, vanilla, banana small shake and it was delicious! The place is always dead when I go in, so there is never a wait. I hope this place doesn't close down anytime soon. The fact that I never see other people in there scares me.

While out on Main Street in Newark, Delaware, we actually stumbled upon Cheeburger Cheeburger. What a cool place to have lunch, and take a trip back to the times of Jukeboxes, sock hops and poodle skirts. What's cool about the Cheeburger Cheeburger menu is the fact that it will actually challenge you. Guys, if you take your lady there, always order the burger one size bigger than hers. Do this to keep your man card, and feel better about yourself! Ha, that is all in jokes, but once you see their menu with burger names like; The Semi-Serious, Serious, and the Delirious, you'll understand what I mean. Luckily my lady chose the (5.5 ounce Classic,) so to one up her I took on the "Semi-Serious" which was 7 ounces. Yeah baby, because I'm a man! *Likes: The theme, and atmosphere. C.C. will throw you back into the time zones of James Dean, Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Marilyn Monroe. Yes, it's actually kind of cool. The menu really presents a challenge to your competitive appetite. Do not come to this place looking to have a light salad. You'll get that "wimp" stare. The service was very friendly, and down to earth. They made the food ordering fun. Yes, it's the little details that count. The manager himself will come out and greet you at your table, just to make sure you are enjoying your meal, and your time. I thought that was very cool! *Dislikes: This particular Cheeburger Cheeburger is located in Main Street which is surrounded by the University of Delaware Campus. The parking on Main Street is nearly impossible if you're going for a parallel space in front of, or near any of the businesses. There is a good point though. Most of the main parking lots, including the one belonging to the local shopping center is within a short walking distance. Hey, this is cool, because you're not going to mind going for a little walk after taking on any of the delicious burgers at C.C. If you'd like to take a quick look at the menu, here's a link cheeburger.com/menu/main… You'll enjoy the food and Rock and Roll atmosphere of Cheeburger Cheeburger! -Dj

Greasy burgers and a tacky atmosphere. Try Kates or Iron Hill for a better burger.

Based on how long it took, you would have thought they were baking the hamburger buns from scratch. The burgers were extremely over cooked (like, black) but our waitress was nice.

This is a really good place to get a really good. ..turke yburger. Their turkey burgers are juicy and the choice of toppings lets you personalize your meal. I like the bottomless refills and the glasses that the beverages are served in. The wait staff was very friendly and I was glad to see that the music was more from the mid sixties rather than the 50's. My personal taste of course, but I don't like doo wop and similar styles. The key lime milkshake was very thick more like ice cream, but the orei was more like a beverage. The people I was with enjoyed their shakes. I would definitely come back again.

I must admit, I was more pleased with Cheebueger than I thought I would be! The 50s diner theme manages to look cute without being dated, and the milkshakes... dear baby meezus, I hope they come out with a vegan option for me! Surprisingly, they have vegetarian burger options for customers... so veggie lovers, don't be scared!

I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter and I enjoyed the 50s design. I thought I'd be resigned to eating burgers, but the host must have pegged me right away as a salad eater and showed me their extensive salad menu. He even let me know they use "spring mix and not iceberg." That piqued my interest. They are very family friendly and let my daughter have her pick of vintage cardboard cars for her food. I had a great salad with my choice of toppings from an extensive list (portabella mushroom and sun-dried tomatoes were among what I chose) along with a chocolate egg cream. She had chicken fingers with fries and a mint milkshake. The milkshake menu was amazingly huge -- so hard to chose. We'll pick this again for a family meal out.

I love this place! First off, they fry everything in peanut oil which is much healthier. Next, I love the create your own milkshakes (and add in candies and whatnot without extra cost!) The best is adding in cookie dough bc most of it gets caught at the bottom and then you can scoop it out with whatever of the shake is left over it's delicious. The food always comes out at a reasonable time and I have never had an issue with service. I love the food it's simple but the create your own options lets you add your own spin to it which I really enjoy. The only thing I get bummed abt is that your sandwich doesn't normally come with fries (like a burger or grilled cheese) so you gotta order it separately. And for the record, unless your a human vaccuum, a "small" size of fries is perfect to share with you and another person. Medium fries always ends up being too much, trust me.

Came in for happy hour and got a milkshake. There's a boatload of different flavors, which you can mix and match to your heart's desire. I had blueberry and coconut, which was adequate. My rat friend had a peanut butter and banana concoction which she enjoyed. We shared fries, which were so greasy they left marks on the table. Ugh.

Hey, this is cool, because you're not going to mind going for a little walk after taking on any of the delicious burgers at C.C.

Ugh.

This place is awesome! A fun atmosphere with excellent service. I've been to several burger places in this area and this one beats them all. If you love burgers, give this place a try!
