Everything i had here was awesome. I think i almost died at just the mushrooms they had as an option for the steak. I think i could have eaten them along for dinner Yum. It was my first time there and i would go again. Our waitress wasn't the best but even she couldn't take away from the food.

This is not my first time coming here I've been here about a total of three times. All of the other times were fine, but this time there was stuff floating in two of my drinks. They gave us appetizers without any silverware or napkins, and we had to get our own from a basket they had left sitting on there fireplace. The restaurant was more than half empty and we still had to wait an hour before they finally brought us our food.

Fairly middle of the road steak house. I wasn't that impressed with my food to be honest and I felt a bit like we were in a mill with them trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible. That being said, my son's burger was quite delicious. If you want a burger, this is not a bad choice at all.

I ordered a prime rib sandwhich and what I got was a cheesesteak. It's was a good cheesesteak but it was not prime rib!

WOW! Haven't been here in awhile and I am pleased with the menu selection! The BBQ Chicken Nachos are AWESOME, the beers on tap were just to our liking and the entrees were delish! I had fish and chips, which my piece of fish was HUGE. My husband got the Black Magic Steak, it was very good...not a piece left on the plate. For dessert we enjoyed bananas foster. YUM Next time we will be back on a Tuesday night to enjoy kids eat free night with moxie the moose, face painting and balloons. Danielle the manager is so accommodating and the staff is so friendly. The atmosphere is beautiful.

We used to eat here 3 times a month or more. Food tonight was terrible. Place was almost empty. Now I understand why. I will not be back .

Another chain trying to put a spin on the same old stuff. The quality was average. The bar was out of the first two beers I tried to order. The salad my girlfriend had was a good size and she enjoyed it. The talking moose was creepy as hell.

Service was great. Server Jake was attentive and helpful. Atmosphere- the talking heads are pretty lame. I do not get it. My kids were not impressed. Food. Gets a 0. My daughter ordered fish sticks (I know, random choice) and they were disgusting. I tried one to see if she was exaggerating and I couldn't get past the second chew. Decent beer selection. Don't understand why there were so many adults, using adult language at 5:30. I will not return.

Meh. It's a chain. Double date here tonight, and the only part I really enjoyed was the booze. Luckily you can't really mess that up. I did appreciate the free dessert coupon for checking in on Yelp though. My brother and fiance both ordered the same steak, cooked exactly the same way, (medium rare). My fiance's steak was about medium, and my brother's steak was white, it was so over done. The manager was nice enough to refire his steak, but by that point we were all just ready to leave. Cold sides, soggy fries and a long wait for mediocre food. I wouldn't go back or recomend anyone try this place. Outback, tgi fridays, applebees; all similar places, and probably better, if chain food is your kinda thing. So, once again...meh.

Visiting someone at the hospital across the street decided to give this place a shot despite last couple 2 star yelp ratings.... Big mistake. Service ok - acceptable given 1 day after holiday. Order snowbird chicken Salad - disgusting. All lettuce none of the advertised good stuff like eggs bacon cheese etc. even worse - chicken was likely fried yesterday and then microwaved when I ordered it. Beer was cold. Agree another chain that thinks adding some moose stuff will really help them in the food department....go somewhere else or save your money

Great food! Great service! Our server was one of the best we've had in along time.

Excellent service. Had fish and chips; cooked perfectly and delivered hot. However, only flavor was that of the batter it was fried in. Basic white fish, so I guess as expected. Fries were of good quality as well, but extremely salty. The ice tea, bread and service were its best points today. Checked in on Yelp but did no good for me today as needed to order 2 adult entrees to claim the free dessert.

This was quute popular when it opened years ago. The fad has worn off. Below average rating across the board. There are much better restaurants close by to waste your money here. Firebirds is right here and its awesome.

I was at the Pet Smart, which is located in the same shopping center. I decided to check this place out since my mom has been wanting to go. There were fake animals on the walls and pictures of fisherman, fishing poles, things like that everywhere; with bear head puppets, the wait staff used to sing happy birthday to people (no joke - saw it.) The place seemed clean and for there being so many people it wasn't that loud. I think the wood, which was everywhere, isolated the sound or something. The waitress seemed very rushed and didn't seem too interested in my table. I mean our needs were met but defiantly just a 10% tip; I always tip more for better service. My meal, the salmon just tasted like salmon; even though it said it was marinated in pineapple and soy sauce but I didn't taste any of that. The veggies were still crunchy; I liked my steamed more. The mashed potatoes were great though; skins still in it. Since I checked in on yelp I got their 'free dessert' offer; I ordered their chocolate cheesecake (which wasn't that great, there were 2 colors and one looked like it should have tasted like peanut butter but sadly, it did not.) Overall it was just sort of a blah experience. I don't know if I'd go back, maybe if I am in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Nothing special there.

Food was excellent and checking in on yelp got us a free dessert which is always a big plus. Service was a little slow for a Tuesday evening but the tea was fresh brewed and we never had to ask for refills.

I came here today with my friend, it was his birthday and first time there. I recommended it because of wonderful past experiences. This time was wrong. The restaurant was not crowded and for some reason we were seated away from everything and everyone and placed literally against the kitchen wall. We heard everyone in the kitchen using profanity, joking and horse playing. We heard ourselves being discussed after we received our food which was cold! My food and his food were served cold. They were amicable and served my friend fresh fries when they put our food in the microwave. Our waitress "pork chop" was not really present after our food was served so we had to sit with our cold food for 10+ minutes. Fortunately the food was good, not the best, but good. There was a lack of professionalism and common courtesy.

My husband and I drove down here from Philly because the one near us closed. We were so upset, Bugaboo was one of our favorite "date" places. I like that they give you the warm bread and butter to start, because we usually come hungry. Hubs always orders the Moosebreath burger with mashed potatoes and loves it every time. Dare I say it ranks as his #1 burger, and he knows burgers! I have tried a few things off the menu and have never been disappointed. Some items I have tried and liked - bbq chicken nachos, snowbird chicken, bleu mountain steak salad, the trout and salmon and sirloin skillet tips. I think that is most of the menu. :) The restaurant is usually filled with kids who want to see the talking moose, so if that is a negative for you, you might want to sit at the bar.

The food... especially Steak is just great! I have always had good service here with people that know the menu. My only complaint here like most places in this area is the waiting list! Unless you time it right or on the right day it gets impossible to dine. Sometimes the wait is an hour in which case we look elsewhere!

  • Doug C.

Consistently decent - usually sit in the bar area, but the service varies here as well. BBQ Chicken Nachos are a standby of ours, and there is a chicken salad with walnuts that is very good.

Ample parking. Service was average, could be better. Food was okay. I had the steak and rib combo. Average. They should learn from Outback. Nothing personal

The service was warm, excellent and super friendly. Was somewhat reluctant to go there after some of the negative reviews, but found the place to be the complete opposite of the negative comments that were posted. Have gone back since and enjoyed it both times. Fast, clean and friendly service.

I have always liked Bugaboo Creek, from the outdoorsy atmosphere to the good food the place is a nice place to eat. The steaks are very good, a little fatty but good, the salmon is good. Service has always been pretty good, one time the waiter brought the wrong meal I ordered, I told them and they said they would get me what I ordered but I said I was running late, he said he would hurry it out so I waited and they did not charge me for the meal, that makes a difference and I recommend them and continue to eat there.

Been to this place in the past, stopped coming here about 5 yrs ago due to poor customer service. Gave it another shot, it was good the first time we were back. We came again tonight (Monday), the restaurant was not crowded. We ordered a prime rib sandwich and a Charlie's ribeye. When the food came the 'prime rib' was more like roast beef, but that's not the worst. The Rib Eye came out a skirt steak or some other cheap piece of beef charred hard as a rock on the outside and cold in the middle- it was ordered Pittsburgh medium. When we sent it back the manager came over to us and spoke with us. Apparently the managers boyfriend/husband and daughter were seated across from us. The manager was blatantly talking about us to her family, they stopped eating to turn around and stare at us. We had the ribeye fixed and this time it was a completely different piece of beef however it was cooked well done- not pittsburgh medium. The only saving grace of this restaurant was the pleasant server we had who was apologetic about the error in the kitchen. We again won't be going back here.

I've been here many times over the last 5 years and everything I've ever had here has been great. Avoid being seated next to the kitchen if possible, but other than that, this place is really good.

I am new to the Northeast and decided to have lunch here after a trip to go shopping. Upon my initial entry I was impressed by the amount of decor but it kind of reminded me of an episode of Restaurant : Impossible. That being said my initial seating, order and appetizer taking were adequate. The appetizer, drinks, bread, were all served quickly and at adequate temperature. The "Bunyan Onion" was like a better Bloomin' Onion in that it was as flavored the same but didn't taste as salty and lended itself to the sauce well. The main course, a house specialty steak, two skewers of shrimp, two sides were average at best. It kind of tasted like they used a cheap all in one marinade/shake on the steaks and shrimp. The (s)mashed potatoes were good but they had something I couldn't put my finger on that made them not quite great (Miracle Whip was my guess). I wish I would have gotten a baked potato. Overall this location was adequate, I would come and visit again but I was really let down by having the "Signature Special" advertised by the waitress be so sub par. I hope they have better dishes or else there will be no third visit.

I really enjoyed my dinner here at Bugaboo. This location is much bigger than the locations I am use to in the DC area (when they were open). We drove around to 4 different restaurants before coming here. Bugaboo Creek was the only restaurant that was able to seat a party of 12 in under 20 min. While we were waiting for the previous party of twelve to leave the table the party of twelve had started to take a little longer than expected and the General Manager (Robert Ford) offered to bring us 3 appetizers to the table. Without a doubt we gladly accepted. Once the table was ready we were sat in front of the fireplace and the talking moose. Within 5 min all 3 appetizers that he promised were delivered to our table. We were really greatly for him and his staff's hospitality. Our waitress was very attentive and was able to get all orders 12 correct without any error. I ordered the rib-eye steak which was cooked to my liking. I also enjoyed the Green tea which was very very very good. This is definitely a place that can accommodate large parties and be very attentive to their customers. Thanks for the great experience to Bugaboo Creek!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went there with friends. The waitress came over to take our order. There were five of us. She started on the right. When my friend on my left asked a question. ..she at first ignored her! When my friend asked the same question only louder..the waitress acted like we were bothering her! Are u serious? We are paying customers! !!! I asked three times for a refill on my soda...but when the two males asked for refills...they got them right away!!! Will not go back!!!!

This place had EXCEPTIONAL customer service! After visiting several other restaurant establishments with wait times over 45 mins and staff who just didn't seem to care, Bugaboo Steakhouse welcomed out party of twelve with open arms and only a 35 min wait. The General Manager, Robert Ford, is outstanding and master of providing customers with quality customer service. Upon noticing our wait and how patient we had been for our table, he offered us two complimentary appetizers; buffalo nachos and a sampler. They came out quickly and were very tasty. Our server was quick and friendly. Made sure our drinks were refilled before we even asked. Orders were accurate. I ordered the prime rib which I wanted med-well. I had gotten it well done. I brought my issue to the servers attention and she took it back and got me a whole new plate. The final try was an outstanding piece of prime rib. I also would like to mention that I received a free dessert thanks to my first check-in. I ordered the bananas foster which was really good and enough to share. I can only hope the other chains of this restaurant here at home offer the same high quality service and food. Will be the Duchess of this place real soon!

This is not a fine dining establishment, however, it does provide good food at a reasonable price in a mountain lodge atmosphere. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was served hot and well presented. I would eat here again.

So I find myself at this rustic steakhouse because the James Street Tavern is under renovation. I had the tavern bookmarked from a visit passing through many months ago. The tavern liquor store clerk suggested I try the Bugaboo as the backup. The rustic atmosphere is quite inviting and the full parking lot enticing. When inside there is plenty of room even though it looked packed from the outside. They have a good enough array of beer on tap and a stocked cooler of favorites behind the bar. I did not try the Moose Juice but it looks like it would kick your ass. I ordered a small Caesar Salad and the Cedar Plank Salmon. Salad came out quickly, good thing cause I am starving, and the other bar attendees' steaks look great. The bartender did forget my bread as I ogle the warm pumpernickel the guys flanking me are eating. Well I get my salmon, ask for my bread, and dive in. The center of the fish is cold and uncooked but I will eat around the perimeter until I'm asked "how is everything?" The bread comes, I eat around the perimeter and at this point have to mention to the bar guy. He seems to take it personal, in a good way, as if this happens frequently. My salmon was returned in about 6 minutes with new sides and all was good! The more time I spend here the more I am assuming it's a franchise. Dare I ask?

This is one of my favorite places for a high quality, reasonably priced meal for both me and the family. First, I cannot recall a time in which the service has been sub par. Second, if you have young children this place is not only entertaining with Moxy the talking moose and other creatures, but their children's menu is more than just grilled cheese and fries(but those are still an option, if you must). The food here is so good that in a number of trips I find myself always ordering the same two or three menu items. They also have a frequent diner program that emails coupons monthly (usually for $10 off) and you can get $10 or $20 gift certificates with accumulated spending of $300 or more(I think). They also double the points for the frequent dining program on Monday's. This is pretty much my favorite chain steak house: A great place for a date, group or if you have kids!

So so food and overpriced. There is an Applebees up the street that serves about the same quality and type of food that will save you about $5-$7 per person.

Bugaboo falls short of what it proposes but then again, this is Delaware...a place where there are lines to get into the Olive Garden!! As one can expect in Delaware, the food scene is amateurish at best. The steaks are OK but seriously lacked flavor. However, the steaks are cooked exactly how one orders. Skip the demi-glace option since it is not worth it! It was watery and tasteless. I was with a group of 12 and the service was horrible! The management staff could have planned this better. A plus point is the decor of the interior! Very cool!

Not like I remembered... It use to be much better service and food years ago when I lived in the area. After traveling for about a hour, it could have been a better experience for mother's day. I suspect my mother felt the same because she mentioned that we never have to come back. It may have been due to the toughness of her steak or the dryness of her bbq ribs. She asked from extra bbq sauced and she waited 5 minutes for the server to bring it before she would touch the ribs again. That was definitely a sign. My chicken was okay but a little flavorless. Maybe next time...

They have a talking Moose! Every 10 or 15 minutes the Moose turns on with something to say!

Well, for a couple of Canadians this was like a little piece of home. Walking up to the front we met a big bull moose followed by -- wait for it.... A royal Canadian mounted police statue. After sitting down we noticed the canoes and various stuffed animals around the restaurant. Felt right at home sitting among all the Canadian beaver the service was great, the food was good we would come back. I would rank this at 3.5 stars if I could. I would recommend this place.
