We ordered take out here today and omg when I say I'm a serious food critic it takes a lot to get me raving! I'm expecting and almost nothing taste up to my standards these days but this food was amazing!!!! I was in the mood for steak tacos and normally we order from El Nopal but they were closed so I wanted to try La Delicia and see if they came close. Omg El Nopal who?? I will always order here from now on my favorite local Mexican food by far! My husband ordered the menudo and chicken quesadilla everything was very flavorful and super fresh. They left us wanting more!!!

We should have walked out. We were treated like second-class citizens here. The middle-aged waitress treated us with disdain, snapping and raising her voice at us, whenever we asked for anything. The only time she was nice was when it was time for a tip. Then she was a peach. At first, we thought she might be having a bad day and gave her the benefit of the doubt. But then new customers came in that appeared to know her and she was an angel to them. I'm not sure how you can treat a family with such disrespect when you don't know them. We will NEVER be back. As for the food, it was nothing to write home about. The street tacos had very little meat and the red salsa for the tacos had a weird fermented taste. The rest was fine, but not worth the attitude.

If you like authentic Mexican food, definitely give this place a try! We checked this place out based on a suggestion from a friend. For those who have been to El Nopal, which is right down the street, you will recognize some of the employees from there at La Delicia. La Delicia has a good sized menu, many different dishes offered, and a few fresh fruit drinks as well. The restaurant is on the smaller side, with less than 10 tables inside, but it is nicely decorated and welcoming. It is located next to a gas station, and if you weren't actually looking for it, you wouldn't even know it was there. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. They are pretty quick, so it would be a good place to stop for lunch if you are short on time. I got the chicken tacos, Mexican style (served on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro) and they were very good. The tacos come with salsa verde and roja (red and green salsas). Both salsas are very good and I put both on my tacos. Their rice and beans are also very good. My SO got the carnitas plate and he said it was very good. The prices are low and the portions are high. I will definitely stop here regularly!

Excellent low cost Mexican restaurant. Nicely decorated, reasonable service, and good food with large portions. I especially loved their horchata, a tradition sweet rice drink.

Love their carnitas!!!!! The big chunks of pork are so tender and flavorful!!!!!! Addicted to that dish! Wish their salsa was better though, def not a fan of it. If they had a more flavorful sauce it would be 5 stars!

First time here and dining solo so not able to taste the whole range of the menu. But some signs show an attention to detail. A slice--half inch thick--of fresh avocado at the absolute peak of ripeness arrived as garnish on a bed of freshly shredded lettuce and a sizable dollop of real sour cream as accompaniment to the chicken tamale. The tamale was a bit overcooked and seemed to have bee fried in its banana leaf rather than steamed(?). The sides of rice and frijoles arrived on a single plate and the beans had a sprinkle of what tasted like grated Parmesan cheese--but rice and beans were both quite tasty. The salsa that came with the freshly fried tortilla chips was very spicy. Best by far? The HUGE 32 oz cantaloupe agua fresca!

Great mexican food. I normally go to el napal but my friend told me some cooks moved from there to here. I decided to try it and was not disappointed. I had the chicken and beef fajitas with tortillas. They were awesome! My girl got three steak tacos and one lengua. She said they were very good. Add a bottle of coke and I was in heaven.

Just discovered this new Mexican restaurant and so far I am quite impressed. The rice is delicious as are the refried beans. They have a really nice menu offering a large selection of Mexican favorites. Their lengua tacos were quite good as were their chuletas, carnitas and mixed fajitas. The location is a little weird, right in the gas station at the split between Loockerman and Forrest, but don't let that stop you. Definitely the best Mexican food I've had in Dover and quite frankly the best I've had in recent memory. Good Mexican food seems really hard to find. I hope that people discover their really good food and they can survive their rather strange location.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
