Cheddar's has really good food and great prices. 3 words: Honey Butter Croissants! They are amazing!! Get you some!! I ordered the Half Rack Ribs & Chicken Tenders with a loaded baked potato and green beans. I loved the entire meal! The BBQ sauce on the ribs is amazing; The seasoning on the green beans, perfect! I love crispy, flaky, chicken fingers and even my potato was extremely tasty. The service was great. I wish I remembered her name because she did everything she could for us to enjoy our dining experience. I ordered the Spiked Strawberry Lemonade mainly because it had vodka and sliced strawberries in it on the menu....2 of my fav's. Instead it came out to me with cherries. I was a little disappointed especially after I was told there were no strawberries in the building but the server got me a little cup of strawberry puree with little pieces of strawberry in it. Not only was I satisfied that I had strawberries, it made my drink taste even better! Great dining experience!

First time at Cheddars. Let me say we would come back here. From scratch cooking with friendly staff. Kids chicken fingers, key west chicken, pot pie & croissants. Staff was friendly, attentive & personable. Croissants were warm. Caesar salad was big for a side and lettuce was fresh. Food came out hot & delicious. Tenders we crispy & a great portion for kids. Pot pie was filled with veggies with a flaky crust. Key west chicken had amazing spice & flavor. Broccoli casserole was delicious & corn was your yummy. Under $25 for 4 people to eat dinner is awesome. Will come back!

Great food at a great price !! We ordered apps, fountain drinks, and two entrees with additional sides and the bill was still only $35 !! Very nice and clean environment inside ! Wish I lived closer so I could eat there more often.

This was our second visit to this Cheddar's. We were looking forward to a repeat of our first great experience, but that did not happen. We were seated quickly and proceeded to wait a very, very long time for someone to get our drink order. The people in the table across from us, who were seated before us, seemed to be very annoyed that no wait staff had yet visited their table. Our waitress arrived at our table, and I suggested she go to the other table first, as they were there first, but another waitress showed up. We ordered our appetizer and entree at the same time as our drinks; we were wondering if our waitress would ever return if we didn't. Our appetizer arrived and shortly thereafter so did our entrees. I don't like it when there isn't enough time to properly enjoy the appetizer. We sat with empty drink glasses for way too long; we placed them at the end of the table hoping our waitress would notice. She did not. Eventually, towards the end of our meal, she came with refills. She did not return to ask how we were enjoying our entrees or if we needed anything. Our meals were just okay. My husband ordered catfish, but he didn't it was truly catfish. I ordered the chicken with rice and mushrooms. The mushrooms looked like they were just poured out of a jar onto the plate. My steamed broccoli side was over cooked and mushy. There were three bus boys at the table behind us cleaning one table; maybe they could get promoted to wait staff. The waitress came quickly with our bill when we asked for it. However, she never returned for our money, so we left it, with a small tip, on the table. The restaurant was not crowded enough for such poor service. I don't know what happened to the food quality from the last visit.

Great service. EXCELLENT food and beautiful dining room. I didn't know what to expect from this chain but I am impressed and will be coming back. I hope the service/quality doesn't fade when corporate leaves the premises. Chicken fingers for the kids really impressed me

The outside and inside was spot on. Definitely a nice setup but that was it, just the appearance was good. The management needs to get involved with some more training and food preparation. The staff seemed as if they were customers hanging out and just having a good ole time. Not a good experience when the employees are talking about their tips and how little or much they make. Now to the food. Well, not that good either. It seemed like frozen commercial food with a little seasoning. And on top of that, the beer selection was very limited. You can eat there, but we won't be back. Thanks

Just ate lunch here for the first time and was very impressed. The average entre was under $10. Food was simple but very well done with large portions. My girlfriend probably has lunch for 2 days from the food she has left. I'd gladly go back if it were closer to home. Hope one opens in Salisbury.

Better than I expected. I'd been avoiding going, because after all, it's just another chain restaurant. But the host of a meeting I was attending decided to host it at Cheddars, so there I was. I had the fish tacos and a chocolate croissant dessert. They brought nachos and salsa ahead of the meal, and I think someone paid extra for the queso, which I avoided. Everything was good, and the prices were reasonable. Nothing was spectacular, but the waitress was better than average, and the environment was freezing. Apparently they were having an issue with their climate control or something - the manager apologized. I would have given my first born child for a sweater or a jacket, since I was wearing a tank top. I would go back again if it was someone else's pick, but probably not if it was my pick. Piazza Mia across the highway would trump it, but Applebees or wouldn't. The unmemorably named steak joint nearby would probably be a tie.

Since writing the review, I've received three other independent reports that the service was as I originally described. The three people who've explained to me their issues with Cheddar's are my colleagues at my day job.

The highlight of Cheddar's has to be the booze. The food is mediocre and the service is manic. Of course, that basically describes any mindless restaurant chain, and Cheddar's is definitely one of many in the Dover area. There is better food out there, although it's probably in Wilmington or Rehoboth Beach. As I'm originally from Philadelphia, I'm accustomed to great food and I consider a better meal to be worth the longer drive. Your mileage, pardon the pun, may vary.

This chain features a nice size selection of down home meals in HUGE portions at a very reasonable price! You get lots of bang for your buck! We went on a Saturday night and had a 1/2 hr. Wait for a table. Our server was a bit on the slow side but he was pleasant! I love the decor. . . Especially the aquarium in the bar area. The restaurant features a separate area from the bar to accommodate dining familes. It's a 45 mile commute but I will return!

Everything was fine until after my order was taken. I ordered steak and grilled shrimp and a Caesar salad. I sat at the bar. Steak came out before the salad. Bartender goes back to kitchen and brings out my Caesar salad. It was not shaken with the dressing. Just a small amount of dressing dribbled on a pile of half dead lettuce and not even enough dressing for the whole salad. Baked potato was cold. Butter was not melted and the potato was not cooked all the way. I wanted AI sauce but after I got my meal, neither of the bartenders even asked how my meal was. My iced tea ran out and no one refilled it. The male bartender kept breaking out in song, which is not appropriate for the atmosphere Cheddar's is trying to portray. The female bartender was flustered and kept slamming things. After my meal no one removed my plates. It took 10 Minutes for someone to pick up my credit card. There was a number to call a satisfaction survey on my receipt. The male bartender saw it then grabbed my receipt, crumpled it, and threw it away so I could not call. He did not invite me to call. When I left the dirty dishes from my meal were still on the bar.

The first time me and my boyfriend went to cheddar's, we had a pleasant experience. Our waitress was nice, our appetizers got there quick, and I got a shaken iced tea from the bar and it was delicious. Our entrees were good and we took home the leftovers. We bragged to everyone about our awesome experience. We recently went there again a couple of weeks later, expecting the same service and food we had enjoyed the first time. Unfortunately it seemed like a different place. We waited about 30 minutes, which wasn't that bad, but once we were finally seated, our waitress was no where to be found. When she showed up, she seemed distracted and confused. She took our drink orders and our appetizer order and left. Our drinks arrived about 10 minutes later and then we ordered our entrees. Finally it had been an hour since we first arrived at cheddar's and all we had were our drinks. Our appetizers arrived so long after we ordered them that we almost asked for the check and left. Once we got our three choice appetizer, which was nachos , potato skins and mozzarella sticks, it was not up to par. The nachos were especially displeasing and they looked as though they had been sitting out for a long time. Our food arrived short time after and our waitress was still taking forever and not even making eye contact when she came to our table. I got the ribs and they were very dry -they looked like the bottom of a foot. It was disgusting. The best part of the meal was the French fries. Our favorite part of the evening was finally getting the check and leaving. The waitress tried to be extra nice to us last minute so we would give her a good tip, but it was just annoying. Soon after I left I felt sick to my stomach and chest. We're never going back there again.

I did already add a tip about this restaurant. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Within a minute a server appeared and took our drink orders and had them at our table in about a minute. I ordered a cup of potato soup and a burger with bacon barbecue sauce cheddar cheese onion straws done medium well. My son ordered 3 croissants. My soup came out within 5 minutes and then the burger took an additional 17 minutes to appear. My sons food took over 21 minutes to appear and that was after I asked about it and then threatened to leave because we were so hungry. My son also ordered a side of bacon and get this... There were two tiny , miniscule, ridiculously small pieces of terrible bacon. The poor kid was so disappointed. As it turns out burger was overcooked but tasty, and barbecue sauce is very good, however everything else was mediocre or poor. The only reason this restaurant rates two stars has to do with the fact that the burger meat was acceptable and that initial service was very fast. You may want to avoid eating here unless you're looking for slow service. They have quite a bit of work to do. Bon Apetit

First time eating here. When ever I drove by it always interested me. We went for dinner last night. A late dinner. We were greeted quickly and seated in our booth. Our server was being shadowed by a new employee whom was very eager to help. The raspberry tea we ordered had something wrong with it. Maybe it was soapy.... Very strange! My salad came out quick and our food followed right behind! Great portion sizes!! In ordered chicken pot pie which was great! It was full of chicken and vegs. I wish they would have been a little more careful with the chicken only because I kept finding very hard (inedible) pieces I the pie. The bf ordered chicken alfredo, it had vegs in it as well. Strange accompanyment...never have I seen something like this. Broccoli and carrots mixed in with pasta and chicken. He pulled the carrots out and happily ate it up. He has been there before and that why we came. Good place to eat and reasonably priced. Would go again!

I had to do a double-take when I recieved the bill. Two adults, with drinks (one non-alcoholic, one alcoholic), an appetizer, and two entrees...came to a whopping $38.25! The server was exceptional (Dylan). The food was piping hot. This is one of best chain restaurants I've ever been to. Wish they had one near Philadelphia though...

First time eating here. We had a good experience. Our server was Dustin who did an excellent job of meeting our needs. The food was good. We ate the croissants and chicken tenders. The tenders were moist and tasty. Someone had the Salmon which was good. The nacho appetizer was good too. We visited on a busy Sunday afternoon and service was still on point. People were constantly going in and out. We were there around the 4- 5pm timeframe. We will be back on our next trip through Dover.

Great food and even better prices! Ribs are delicious and the meal portions are large enough to share! The red beans and rice side is the best!!

This restaurant is fairly new. Its actually in Camden. I have eaten at Cheddars in different states. I was not disappointed. They have fresh brewed Sweet Tea. I had Chicken Alfredo and buttered Sweet Corn. I was going to get dessert, but I ran out of room. The wait staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and spacious as far as distance between tables & booths. There is a full bar too. Great spot for lunch, happy hour and dinner.

My husband and I ate here yesterday at about 3pm. The service was excellent but there was only one or two families in there. The atmosphere has a pleasant decor. My grilled salmon was excellently seasoned with rice underneath it. Mashed potatoes were great and the coleslaw was good. My husband had the ribs and they were tasty but too fatty. He also had broccoli cheese casserole and it was very good. The loaded baked potato was fairly good. He also had fried chicken that was fairly good.

It was nice to be welcomed and seated so promptly. Had lunch for Three . Everything was very good for a chain . The Roadhouse burger was great . The wife had the Cheddar Club she enjoyed it . My daughter liked the grilled cheese however she filled up on potato skins . I would recommend those . I felt it was a bit to dark other then that give it a shot :)

Good food but do not stop here if you don't have a lot of time to kill. It took us about a half hour to place our order, the food didn't take an ridiculously long time but to get our check was a huge ordeal. Even after asking multiple different servers if they could get our waitress or they could print our check we waited at least a half hour. The food was decent but not even close to being worth the wait.

We stopped here after checking out of our hotel and heading home for lunch, we were a party of 5. We don't have one in our area so we thought we would give it a try and see how it was. It looks fairly new? We were seated quickly by the hostess way across the restaurant in the last room. And then we waited....and waited......and waited. I understand things are slower in Delaware. This was lunch time and the place wasn't crowded. I'm very particular about being seated and seeing a server. I give them 5 minutes tops and then I'm looking for a manager. As usual no server so I caught ones attention as she walked by (she wasn't our server but she did get us drinks) We finally saw our server Sarah as she delivered our drinks without any introduction or pleasantries. I was starting to steam. We ordered an appetizer of onion rings which were delicious, light and airy and my daughter got a salad/entrée. She asked my daughter if she wanted it brought out prior to her meal? That's how I eat my salad, doesn't everyone? Another thing that plucks my nerves is the length of time it takes to get drink refills. Again, "slow" was the word of the day. Overall the food was good and filling. I would go back again but I would like management to address the issue with their employees about the amount of time from being seated to being waited on. Buttered croissant's were delicious and plates were overflowing. Very inexpensive and the drink prices are cheap. No alcohol this time as I was driving. Try it if you're in the area.

Quite possibly the most backwards restaurant I have ever been to. Salads served all late and wrong, my burger was burnt. When I complained to a "manager" I believe her name was Tina she blatantly ignored me and my requests. I will never return, and you get a bad yelp review!

Here visiting family. There's a Cheddars that has opened up like 40 min away from me in MD and I've read and seen many of my "southern" (but not really southern) MD friends eat here. So, when suggested to go here in DE, I said why not. The build-out of the restaurant is laid out nicely and roomy, but still seats a lot of patrons. They have this nice fish tank built in the wall that my children liked. It's very pretty. Anyways... Let's get down to business. Date/time: Saturday, 4pm. The wait was approx 10 min and there were others in front of us and after. Service: cool. Laid back. I've always had a pet peeve that others may think is petty, but as my waiter/waitress, I don't think you can sit done at the table to take our order. That's what our waiter did. In my opinion it's rude. I'm having a meal with my family. Though it's a mere 3 minutes, you were not invited. Whoa. That sounds bitchy, but whatever. Secondly, I see it as unprofessional and lazy. Now I know you are a waiter, but there's still a level of professionalism you need to have. And Dude, you're not my friend, so pls do not sit down next to me like we are cool. Other than that, he was alright. He did his job. Food: I got the country fried chicken with fries and coleslaw. Ehh. It was alright. Nothing great. Mg brother got the chicken pot pie, which he said was good. My niece got the grilled like chicken with rice and broccoli - and she said it was good. My kids got the kids meal pasta, which they allowed us to sub the sauce with Alfredo, cheeseburger and chicken fingers. We also got an appetizer, mozzarella cheese balls or something like that. It was good. Had a little kick to it. Portions overall were pretty large. Price: for an appetizer, 3 entrees, and 3 kids meals with drinks, it all came to $53. Sooo inexpensive. So the place is a regular chain with not much to leave an impression. I wouldn't make it a point to come back.

Came here with my family on Saturday 11/29/14 for an early dinner. We waited about 10 mins for a table which was excellent. The restaurant itself is very nice with a friendly staff. As soon as we sat down our server was greeting us to take our drink order. That's was a plus!!! The food was very good. We enjoyed everything we ordered. See the photos attached! The prices at this place is unbelievably cheap! For my family of 4 we paid less than $100 bucks. And that was including 2 adult beverages for myself and my husband and an additional take out order! Will for sure come back to this place on our next trip down to Delaware!

My daughter and I had a very good dinner here for under $50, and that's with one appetizer, two entrees, and two desserts. We waited approximately 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night. The decor inside is lovely, warm and inviting. We were seated in a comfortable booth near the windows. Our server was friendly and attentive. He even brought extra sauce for our appetizer without having to be asked. He was always ready with a refill on our drinks before we even needed to ask. We had the mozzerella sticks as an appetizer. The sauce was too garlicky for me, but my daughter liked it. She had chicken and waffles for dinner, and I had chicken strips with fries and salad. All of it was consistently good. For dessert, I ordered the key lime mini, and she ordered the chocolate cake sundae. It was crazy huge!!! Our check was brought out promptly, and we were wished a good night by all of the staff we passed as we left. We would definitely go back!

I have gone twice and have yet to eat there. Both times I was seated promptly, waited a few.minutes to place my order then watched as all the people around me got their food, 50 minutes later I was done. The second time we waited fifteen min for someone to take our order, so out the door we went again.

Delicious, huge salads (grilled chicken pecan salad with a to-die-for honey butter croissant) giant grilled cheese and veggies for the kids meal, perfect sweet tea. Giant portions that came out quickly. Fun music, cool fish tank (that captured our toddler's attention) and excellent excellent service by Brittany (spelling?) and Liz. We stopped here on our way through Delaware from RI and felt so lucky to have found it! This was a five-star dining experience. Brittany made us feel like family.... Wish you all were closer to us!

Great Chain Resturant. Above all other Chains. Large portions, good quality and LOW LOW prices. Great Ribs, Hambergers, and the Onion Rings are over the top! Excellent!!!

I remember years ago when a Cheddar's opened in Seagirt New Jersey, while it didn't least long the restaurant left a huge impression for the food. Here several years later this one opened in Delaware and i had to go as soon as it opened. I have been there several times since it opened and have never had a bad experience. The country fried chicken is great. If you like desert try the bread pudding it is decadent yet not heavy.

Spinach dip was really good, the whole family loved it. The rest of my time was spent worshiping their godly full rack of ribs and 2 sides for just 15 bucks! I wish I could give it 6 stars. Definitely coming back.

Everything was delicious. I had the sirloin steak. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The grande top shelf margarita was excellent. My husband had the New Orleans pasta and he said it was great, though a little spicy. The salads are huge. The red beans and rice are awesome.

The drinks we had a Pain Killer and a Pinacolada here were yummy and strong and moderately priced. My wife said her burger was moist and my chicken pot pie had a nice flavor and crust. We will come back again.

Tried several times to check out Cheddars but the wIt was ridiculous and one time we were told an hour but an hour and a half later they said it would be another 30 mins because the kitchen was behind. We left but vowed to try again during the week rather than a weekend. The food was rather bland and certainly not worthy of an hour plus wait. Plus they actually charge to bring bread to your table.

Just had dinner at Cheddar's. First time dining here and was quite impressed. The spinach dip appetizer was really good. Service was good, prices were very reasonable, and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back again.

My girlfriend and I decided to go here for lunch the other day, in spite of the fact that multiple people told us how horrible the service had been. The preceding Yelp reviews did not bolster my confidence as we sat down for our meal. Nevertheless, we had a pretty good time. Although it was well before 5 o'clock, we decided to try Cheddar's cocktails. I had the Landslide, and she had the Painkiller. Both were served in a massive goblet-like glass, tasted absolutely delicious and were well worth the $5.99 price tag. (My gf wondered why the menu stated that customers were only permitted two Painkillers when we ordered... she figured out why after a few sips). As for food, I got a simple club sandwich. Nothing fancy, but it was prepared properly. My gf got the steak and chicken tenders combination. The steak tasted okay, certainly not the best, but for the price it was a great deal. The chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes were good too. I'm not sure if my experience is an aberration, or if Cheddar's has actually improved. Our service was prompt; drinks came out about three to four minute after ordering, and the food was ready about ten minutes after that.

Someone said "the burgers are good" so we went there, as friends wanted to try it. The usual oohs and ahhs over the interior decor (it is nice!) The usual bad food; the burger was so dense and dry, I barely ate half. The chicken on ciabbata, same story; very tough. Onion rings were impressive-looking, not impressive tasting. The entire lunch was deemed "meh" by our party. I hope I don't have to go back.

I loved the low lighting. They have a bar for adults and a kid's menu. I had the chicken pot pie. It was a nice buttery crust with a side salad. All though the filling was a little bit too salty for my taste. Then again I'm very sensitive to salt. Reasonable price.

The food and service were both great on the night we visited. I hadn't been to a Cheddar's in many years, and was glad to get reacquainted. My wife enjoyed a chicken salad and the kids and I enjoyed heaping portions of delicious fried chicken.

The portions are great and the prices are very reasonable. Food also tasted great. The staff is nice and the location has a nice feeling. Definitely coming back. Side note:the Asian salad is ginormous!
