So this was my first time at the Bethany Diner and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and overall experience was. The server was efficient and checked up on us throughout the meal. The food came out really quickly and everything was properly prepared. They provide huge portions and some of the cheapest prices I've seen in the area - and I eat out quite a bit when visiting the beach so that's saying something. The creamed chipped beef was quite good and the eggs were cooked properly. My girlfriend ordered the hot open-faced turkey special and really enjoyed her meal. The portions were so large that she took about half of it to go and we came in quite hungry after fishing and swimming all morning. I would definitely recommend coming here for breakfast or to grab a quick bite for lunch. Great value, very clean, nice ambience, and tasty food. After ordering two huge meals our bill was $20. What a steal! Side note: Some of the reviews I've read haven't been very flattering but my experience was completely contrary to what I've seen posted. Just my two cents. I'll certainly be back.

This diner is just okay. It's not great but it's not the worst diner food I've ever had. The servers are very pleasant, not super attentive though. The food is just average. It's warm not hot, somewhat bland, and a tad dry. The decor is a bit confusing - the lighting and bar face are contemporary, but the rest is outdated and boring. Prices are pretty much on par with all local diners. The grits seemed like instant grits and had ZERO seasoning - never had such tasteless, bland grits before. But grits in the northeast aren't generally as tasty as in the south, so I guess they can get a pass there. I would say that if you're starving, you will leave Bethany Diner full, but not altogether satisfied - certainly not impressed or dying to come back.

Came here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning last weekend. The service was fast and attentive. Our party of 4 was seated quickly, and we were thankful that a table was available, as there were larger parties waiting outside. They had a buffet for $8.99 that had eggs, pancakes, French toast, cream chip beef, biscuits, sausage, bacon, and scrapple. Everything I sampled was very good, especially for the price. If you are looking for a quick, cheap breakfast at the beach, I would give this place a try.

Service very good, reasonably priced, large portions, chicken bow tie soup and navy bean soup were really good. Food was good. Dining room full. Coming back tomorrow for breakfast.

Bad. Each time I've gone here it's awful. The home fries are a disgrace and the omelettes are sloppy and never hot when they are served. Most of the waitresses have attitudes when you go there too.

Had a meal here w my family on the way out of town. I had the buffet only when i got up there I wished I hadn't ordered it. Nobody was really tending to it. It looked tired and it was 10:15am. My daughter , son and husband liked it. So that why I'm giving it a three. My mom and other son ordered off the menu and they had better luck but it was still so so to me. The service was pretty good and fairly fast. They were busy. I wouldn't run back to eat there again. But maybe on the way out of town. Not sure.

We're vacationing & looking for a regular eatery for breakfast. No seafood, no pizza, just diner food for the option to eat breakfast or lunch for the 11:30 AM hour we arrived. This diner is excellent, reasonable, and satisfied our appetites. Coffee hot and strong. Portions large. We were happy with our deluxe 3 egg omelette and beef gyro on whole wheat wrap. An unassuming restaurant on the outside, but good fare on the menu.

No thanks. Never again. Eggs weren't cooked through. The pancakes were microwaved. The pork roll was Sysco quality. The home fries were decent. I can't find a good breakfast place in Bethany, Ocean View, or Dagsboro. We have had decent breakfasts at Jimmy's in Fenwick. I think next time I'm in Bethany, I'll just pick up a bagel from WaWa.

Stopped in here for breakfast on our way back home. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's very spacious and nicely done on the inside. The food was decent, but it took a very long time to get it. The other tables were complaining about the slow service as well. Understaffed for such a nice place. Wish I could give it more stars.

We went for breakfast; 3 of us had the buffet and others ordered from the menu. The menu offerings were terrific--fresh and tasty (make sure you order the fruit toppings on the side as they are generous...) The buffet was more on the meh+ side, only because the french toast on the bottom of the pan was rock hard and pancakes dried up...but! once refreshed, the french toast was fantastically buttery and the pancakes were fluffy and light. The sausages were the best we've ever had!! the scrapple....well, you've gotta be a fan to love scrapple...the sliced fruit would have been lovely except that it was clearly sliced on the same cutting board as the onions and peppers :-( Service was lovely--although the food was slow to come out-- and the diner is big and spacious. Bathroom pretty clean! We love having this diner as an option for a casual and inexpensive meal!

This place use to be called Romeo's. It closed because it was so bad. We had high hopes that the Bethany Diner would be better...alas, we left thinking that they simply "re-branded" because the dinner we had there was as bad as the old place. Cream of crab soup could have been eaten with a fork and that was NOT because there was a lot of crab...just thickened with flour. My wife had fried flounder...terrible... she ate two bites. I had a roast turkey platter. The turkey was actually roasted turkey as advertised, not bad. Unfortunately, it came with stove top stuffing and gravy right out of a jar...ugh! The cold slaw was actually not bad...oh well... Service was adequate and friendly but needless to say we will not be returning.

Bad and bland. Fish & Chips were nothing more than frozen Mrs Paul's fillets overly deep fat fried. The old diner stand by turkey club was a mess. I've seen bigger bacon crumbles than what I could find in the sandwich. Thoroughly disappointed.

The pictures in the menu are stock photos and NOT actually the food they serve. I figured it would be hard to go wrong with eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast, but of those 4 the only thing decent was the toast.

The staff and service couldn't have been better. The hostess was super sweet to our 2-yr old when we went for breakfast. I had pancakes which were average, and my wife and child had fence toast which was good. They had nice options for kids. The place was clean. We asked for fruit and they said that it wasn't cut up yet...it was 9:30 a.m. Really? No fruit. If you truly want diner food, this is a good option. The prices were low. I wish I could give it a better review, just because the staff was so wonderful.
