Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

Uh... Low expectations. Decor met my expectations. Food. Ok. Service was good and he was friendly. Smiled and all. Not a high hope. So, Village Inn met the mark. Perkins is my next diner check in this area.

I dont really expect much from Village in but this might be the last time i give it a shot.. The host was not friendly am2d had tattoos all over the table we sat at was still kind of dirty i had to wipe it down myself the waitress seemed on edge and not friendly the cook was new so we waited way too long for our food which i know everyone has to start somewhere but it could have been managed better we ordered over easy eggs and they came out over hard waited ten to fifteen minutes for new eggs i never got my side of bacon and when i checked out the host didnt say a word to me paying my bill the manager never came to talk to us and we were there for over an hour

Wow!! I was speechless and watched in amazement as several waitresses were screaming at each other and the cooks. They were telling customers how they had to make the food themselves so hopefully it was right and actually throwing the plates on the table. The loud obnoxious waitress was so unprofessional, she was actually sitting down at the tables and taking orders. People were sitting there in amazement. They waitresses were throwing the tray tables against the wall The male who I believe may have been the manager said nothing and seemed afraid of the waitress. A friend said she witnessed the same thing a month earlier. Unbelievable!!!

I am a lover of breakfast! With that said, I am very much a critic. I had never ate at this restaurant because being from Florida, I never heard of it. My buddy suggested it and off we went. First impression it seemed no different than an Ihop. I ordered a sampler type of breakfast (as I always do because I am a breakfast glutton!) It included hashbrowns, sausage links, over easy eggs (this is the first time I have TRULY gotten my eggs over easy at a breakfast place). This within itself earned them the 5 stars! I also ordered a little chicken fried steak (my first time trying it). Oh! and I could not resist a strawberry crepe (love those damn tasty sweet things)! Everything was perfectly warm and delicious. It was truly a taste bud orgasm. Then I look over and see they have a free slice of pie on wednesdays!? WHAAAT!!! I am off Wednesdays! SO guess where you will find me?!!!! I can't wait!!! Our waitress was super nice and attentive too and the food came pretty quickly. I am super psyched to have such a perfect little breakfast nook so close to home. I will be a regular! :D

I feel like the portions are not enough to fill me up... But then I eat quite a bit being prego and all. Still, nothing amazed me, it was just ok. The picture matched the food and it was tastey just not enough.

Waited to be seated for a couple minutes which is no big deal I guess. Sat down after a freshly wiped table with food still on it. Waited for seven minutes before a waiter or waitress came by. The waitress was bland and rude. Don't bother coming here. Go to the one on 42nd and Kipling. Much better!

Came here after a visit at the pediatricians office, thought it would be a good treat since my daughter had to be tortured with a strep test... Parking lot looked pretty busy, walked in and got seated in 3-4 minutes... That was good. There were 3 of us, and they gave us an uncomfortable table, there were a few booths, so what gives! Got super irritated after they sat a solo diner at the booth right behind us! WTF??!! Anyway... We were told our waitress would be with us shortly, 5 minutes go by, 10 minutes go by... Finally she took our drink order! 5 minutes go by, 10 minutes go by, then our drinks finally arrive! Then another 10-15 minutes pass by before taking our food order! I shit you not we sat there for 30 minutes waiting to actually get our food!! Meanwhile 3 tables that were seated after us (in a different waitresses area, but the tables were right next to ours) got their food before we got ours!! We stopped dining at this location because customer service sucked... I think the waitress was a little inexperienced, she only had a few tables that she was waiting on... The service was just so slow, I'd definitely think twice before coming here again... :( PS I'm a former waitress so I know how hard these jobs are, but I think it's insane to make people wait 45 minutes for some bacon and eggs! And to not acknowledge people for 15 minutes, by asking what they'd like to drink...

Do yourself a big favor and if this is the only place open, starve! Asked for 2 different cokes because each one of them had food stuck to the inside of the glass! You think after the first one they would check, guess not. The temperature was about 90 degrees inside when I asked about maybe turning the air on the waitress said it never works well wth??

By far the worst Village Inn we visit. This time we stood in line to get greeted, the people ahead of us walked out, a manager then walked by us twice with out one word, so then we walked out. The service at this Village Inn is constantly terrible. Never visiting this location again. If I want Village Inn I will make the trip to I 70 and Federal

Never expect your Togo order to be right. Wrong 5 out of 5 times. Waited an hour the last time even though it was a fairly slow period. I also only ordered eggs and pancakes.

My family (3-5 of us) have been coming here once a week for the past six weeks. We hoped it would improve because breakfast in this area is limited. It hasn't. Tables are superficially cleaned on most of the visits with water or worse rings and sticky residue left on the table. Always appear short staffed in both the kitchen and servers during the mid morning with only a quarter of the restaurant seated. Food is consistently under cooked, eggs and sausage warm at best and omelettes with the shredded cheese still inside and on top not blended or melted. Toast inconsistently toasted. Takes at least five minutes to have drink orders taken and another five to receive. The iced tea smells like old aquarium water with even no offer of refills on the iced tea or the aquarium water. Though Village Inn has a great and changing menu we are done at this location and will go to the Denny's on 88th or the Le Peeps across the street in an attempt to have better luck.

Pros: Great food! It actually tastes pretty fresh, and the staff are nice! I always get the big pitcher of OJ - it's worth the money. Come here at least once a month. The only problem I have - the lines and wait times! If we could cut those in half - this would definitely get a 5 star rating from me.

Was told 5 to 10 minute wait time for two, no problem. After 10 minutes still not seated, even though on average 8-9 2- and 4-top tables were cleaned and ready for people. After an additional 5 minutes I asked about these tables and was told the kitchen couldn't keep up. After another 5 minutes I called another breakfast place that my wife prefers and was told a 5 to 10 minute wait. We left, got there in 5 minutes, and were seated in three. I'd rather be seated and told the kitchen was running slow than wait in the lobby. And, psychologically, people are more willing to leave from the lobby than from a table, especially if they've been served a drink.

Our last visit on Monday will be my last. This was the third time we had to wait when the restaurant was 3/4 empty. There excuse was they were backed up in the kitchen. When I spoke to the gentleman who was the manager at that time he had every excuse in the book. He said they had trouble getting cooks. With his attitude I wondered why they can't get and retain help. I have eaten here for 25 years but that was the last time I will give them my business.

I absolutely love this Village Inn. My friends and I come here every weekend to eat pie and hang out, and the staff are more than accommodating and friendly. We would be considered a nightmare to any other restaurant, with over fifteen people on occasion, but they give us service with a smile every time. The food is delicious. Village Inn is known for their pies, and this location doesn't fail on that. The food I get is always delicious, always made to order. It doesn't get any better than this Village Inn, definitely a good place for an anytime meal.
