Why did I not read the reviews before agreeing to meet here for dinner? I am paying for it now.... Nice server,....terrible food.

Here's the deal. I wanted Seafood for my birthday. I was prepared to go to the local Pacific Ocean Market and pick up some fresh Dungeness crab and Maine lobsters. Wife wanted to make it easy and just go out to eat. The last time we went to Joe's, it was fun with the kids dancing with the wait help and me eating some pretty good crab legs. I called to see if we could make a reservation. I was told that I should call ahead 20 minutes prior to showing. I actually called in 30 minutes ahead as this was a Saturday. It was extremely packed with standing room only in the waiting area and just outside too! I strolled up to the reception area and stated that I had called ahead. I was told that it would be a five minutes wait. Five minutes go by. Parties of 5, 6, 5, 3, 3, and 10 go ahead of us. Twenty minutes later, another party of 3 go by. After twenty five minutes, I attempt to get the hostess' attention. She turns and ignores me. I step up and ask when our table was going to be ready. She snobbishly states, "I called you and you did not answer!" I stated that I was not called and was very attentive to the names that were being called. A female patron standing near by stated that she had not called us and had to point out our name to her with the fact that we were told it would be a five minute wait. The hostess flips through a whole bunch pf post it notes, multiple times and finally finds it on the very top note. The she states. "We are waiting for your table to be cleaned." Ten more minutes go by and still nothing. Mind you we called ahead. After another five minutes, we were called. We got to out table, it was dirty! The bench seats were full of crumbs and drops of some liquid. The liquid sanitizing spray bottle was dripping in the middle of our table. I hesitated to seat ourselves. Finally the male host gets the idea that a spray bottle on the table was not the best set table and removes it. I asked, if it was okay to sit since there were crumbs and drops of liquid on the benches. He states to go ahead and sit. I grabbed some paper towels and wiped the spots myself. This was my birthday celebration, so my wife and I ordered some fancy drinks, hoping it would appease us and hope things would go a little smoother. When our food finally did come, the crab was lukewarm, so got cold immediately. The crab cakes were so spicy I had to spit them out. The waitress knowing it was my birthday had me embarrass myself, in front of the other patrons. That was okay. However, the last time a birthday was celebrated here, we received a dessert on the house. This time... not. We spent over $150 on this meal for five of us. With the economy the way it is, you would expect better treatment of its patrons. I'm not sure if I will ever go to a Joe's again, especially this one. Had we been told that it would be awhile to be seated, maybe 30 minutes because they were busy, we would have been tolerant. But the way we were treated was unsatisfactory. Should have checked YELP before we decided to eat here.

I guess if you are a kid or someone out to party you might love the wait staff kind of dancing and being loud. We went on a Tues night no one was there and they all still danced and yelled if you ordered a certain drink. The meals were not very good. I had a crab pot that was microwaved including the sausage that was in it...I couldn't even bring myself to eat that. My husband ordered BBQ chicken and shrimp scewers. The chicken was gray never hit a grill and had a little sauce poured over the top... The shrimp was chewy and they poored the same sauce over top....I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN

On a whim, the wife and I stopped off for lunch one day. I have to admit, it was fun enough, although a large part of this was due to our kid being in school so we could have an adult conversation over seemingly adult food. The food was... alright. Pricey, but alright. I was tempted to ask how they get their crab, but decided I didn't want to hear how they buy it from WalMart or shipped out via UPS ground. Some things are better left unsaid, you know? Oh, and a new definition of irony: being able to take a vacation to Colorado just to buy a T-shirt with an "I've got crabs" joke scrawled across it. In fact, I'm giggling now, as I think about it. Giggling on the inside, that is.

Ya know, I'm not sure why we come here. I guess I like the ambiance of some seafood shack by the sea, especially when I'm having a case of the winter blahs, but it sure ain't for the food. For one thing, this place masquerades as a cheap alternative to Red Lobster, when, in fact, if you order anything above a sandwich, it gets pretty pricey right away. Hell, pricey even if you try to stick to sandwiches. Case in point: My wife and I, in an effort to keep from dropping over $50 on lunch, decided on a Shrimp Po'Boy for me, and something called a Surf&Turf Burger for her. Unfortunately, we added a couple of Bloody Marys, and a garlic mussel appetizer(which was actually the best part of the meal). Still came out to over 50 bucks, and the sammiches were lackluster. Mine was served on a stale baguette, split in half, so there was no way to pick it up and actually eat it as a sandwich. They were really stingy with the remoulade, so I had to get a couple of sides of it to add some flavor to the pile of fried shrimp laying between two pieces of bread. I know, if you go to a place called a Crab Shack, why not eat crab? And I've had it here, and it's not bad, but for the prices, why not just trot on down to the Red Lobster down the street? Or better yet, hit a place with an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. Still trying to figure out why we go there, and ya know what? I'll probably end up there again, even though I'm usually real quick to 86 a place, especially one as pricey as this one gets to be. I guess I just really wanna move to Florida, and in the meantime, this place is as close as it gets for me. Sad, huh?

I am not much on seafood, however I have some friends who love eating here for the seafood as well as the atmosphere. This is a chain so you may or may not like it.

Today we took our parents out to lunch and they were very excited to try Joe's again. They had a previous bad experience with the quality of the food and was hoping that they had improved. That they did, we ordered the steampots and the food was excellent! However, the service had much to be desired. We dined at Joe's around 2pm on a sunday afternoon, and upon arrival we were seated promptly, however when I asked to be seated in a booth I immediately felt as if I was being far to picky for their establishment. Shortly after the hostess, after just commenting on how the bar had everything, immediately told my father that everything that he had just asked for was unavailabe, follow that up with a waitress who not only didn't know the prices of the drinks she was serving, but also brought both wrong drinks and appetizers. We don't really like to complain so we tried to roll with the punches. The appetizer's came out, and we noticed we had no silverware, once again, roll with the punches, the appetizers came out, with perfect timing, except two servers brought them to the table and tried to stuff them on the table with all of the appetizer dirty dishes. By the time we were able to clean off a spot in the middle of the table for them to place the large steampots, there was no one there to be found. Continuing on, we still had to ask the manager for butter and silverware, the table wasn't cleaned off until right before the check was presented, and then the server had the audacity to ask my father for more money because she didn't think the tip was adequate. Note to all servers, I was a server for more than a decade, and I have no problem generously tipping my servers well over 20% when they deserve it, but if I have given you a tip of 10%, it is because I was extremely dissapointed, a fact that you would have picked up on if you had taken just a second to give my table a little expected attention. The service at Joe's crab shack is the first time in a long time that I have felt the need to make a point, and the fact that the point clearly flew over my server's head far enough to allow her to ask for more money is rediculous! Good service should be appreciated, and 15% is a standard tip, if you expect more, than give more, and if you get less, it is because you've done less, and that means a lot from a person that believes bar tenders should be tipped 50% on a tip less than $20. There are many servers where we frequent that will tell you that we are very generous tippers, and not allowing me the opportunity to be so giving almost bothers me as much as giving me such lowsy service :(

O.M.G. What an awful experience. Like a car wreck. Music on 11 like we are at a nightclub and we are getting loaded! Oh wait, except I'm with KIDS, it's 6pm, and you can't communicate with your waiter above the music. The food sucks. Bad. Barely edible. And if it's not bad enough, they come and sing happy birthday over the too loud stereo. Embarrassing. I think you'd prefer a root canal to eating at Joes.

  • Rachel L.

Absolutely awful. I will never go back. I have eaten crab my whole life, and I'm pretty sure what they serve is just rubbery grease. I went with my boyfriend and roommate and we were equally disappointed in the quality and disgusting food. We immediately stopped at Arby's, located in the next parking lot over. WAY over priced. I cannot describe how freaking gross this place was. I am scared to find out if this crap is going to make me sick because I ate it about an hour ago and feel heart burn already. This place should be closed down to save people from the disappointment. Lastly, I do not think I have ever been more uncomfortable watching the wait staff dance around while an obnoxious strobe light flashed around the room. Awful.

If you're getting crab in Colorado, I can't see how it could get much better in a reasonable price range than what they're serving up here, especially for a chain. Could use a little less noise tho, but they were good with the kid, the service was great and the atmosphere was fun. Nice tshirts too.

Decent seafood for the price. Good place for kids that like seafood, due to all of the song and dance that goes on in there. Big time birthday destination for a lot of people.

it's a pretty ok place for getting lots of crab legs. it can be a little load if you're sitting in the main part of the restaurant. they do singing and dancing for the kids. however if you go a little later in the evening and can sit off to the side by the bar it's not load at all.

My parents were in town, which meant eating out for 3 days, breakfast, lunch and dinner for freeeeeee- woo hoo! They were staying close to Joe's and wanted to eat close by on their last night. I had no room to argue, since the gig was on them. Good thing too, cause Joe's, to put it politely, suuuuuucked. Hard. Okay, our server was cute and perky, calling us all "baby" and "honey" which was amusing cause she was, like, 12. I know we're in a lanlocked state so it's a challenge to get the fresh seafood here. I ordered a house salad- yummy iceberg, carrots and shredded cheese. Blech. Moving on to the King Crab legs. Everything is pre-packaged in a net- the legs and potatoes and corn. Huh. But I didn't WANT the taters and corn. What's a girl to do? Ordered 2 sides of legs- brilliant! Not so much. Seriously lacking in "meat". Shells soft and mushy, stubbornly refusing to yield to my cracking utensil. But I persevered people- tearing at the shells with my bare hands like a starving psychopath. Suddenly, the disco balls light up and the waitstaff come out to perform a little dance that went on waaaaaaay too long. Really? No meat in my legs and now this? It may have been a free meal, but it was painful from start to finish. Sniff sniff.

I've read a lot of bad reviews on here, but I honestly (and luckily) didn't have any of these bad experiences. I had the jumbo coconut shrimp and it was delicious! I had the Mardi Gras "extreme" drink and it was really great too. My boyfriend had the dinner platter and I tasted everything. The crab cake was alright, a little mushy. The crab was pretty good, but nothing special. But the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp was amazing! The service was pretty good too, no complaints on that end. The store was clean and had a fun atmosphere. The price was pretty steep though. I would definitely go back again soon!

i've been to other locations and they haven't been bad...until tonight. i'm in denver for business and staying right next to joe's crab shack in westminster. i had a long day at work so i decided to just call in an order, pick it up and eat it in my room. i walked over to pick it up and was greeted by a friendly hostess. they gave me my order and off i went. got back to my room, which by the way was less than a 5-minute walk. like i said, it was right next door. i ordered the crispy catch. my food was cold. it wasn't even luke warm...cold...as in cold! it was just disgusting. the 1-star was for the friendliness of the staff. the food was 0 stars.

The Motel 6 of seafood restaurants. Service is good, but beyond that the food is just not good.

Very disappointing. I usually eat vegetarian, but had a craving for shrimp. Joe's was advertising a shrimp special (33 shrimp for 11.99), so my husband and I thought we'd order the special for take-out (our toddler doesn't allow us to eat in public very often). After getting home, the order looked slim so we counted our shrimp: 27 shrimp. After calling and speaking to a manager, she told me that it's based on weight, not a number. False advertising, plain and simple. Also, poor customer service. The manager offered to give me the few extra shrimp if I drove back to the restaurant. I just wanted a refund, disappointing. This is exactly why I hate chain restaurants...

My family and I came in on a Sunday afternoon, it was great! The food came out fast and the service was great!!! Our server was outstanding! The only downside to our whole experience was the floor underneath the table was super sticky! Other than that food was good! We would definitely come back!

Every time I have come here I have thoroughly enjoyed myself! Ever since high school it has been one of my favorite places to go to and I have never been disappointed. I love coming to enjoy a sea food meal with my family. While during the day it's a bit slow in festive environments, the night time setting is much better. I enjoyed birthdays here they are funny and a bit embarrassing! While I don't see the staff dancing as often as they have in the past I still enjoy the fun atmosphere. This food is not East Coast quality but the fresh steam pots have a great variety and spice that can match any East Coast seafood. However, the prices here in Colorado are significantly higher than prices in the East Coast for seafood. That's a shame since I love seafood and I would love to come here often but the prices are pretty high. The crab is great with the Old Coast or Cajun seasonings. The fried foods are never something I prefer so I don't recommend any fried dish, since the steam pots are really great. Like I said I have never had a bad experience here. I have never had bad service and if ever I wanted a more hoppy atmosphere I would go on a weekend evening , over day time hours so I wouldn't be disappointed. The food has always been the same to me so I enjoy it.

I came in on Tuesday for a birthday lunch. I didn't really announce it because I saw the celebration wall and I hate public displays like that. It was my first time there and Felipe was awesome and explained the concept of the restaurant and helped us pick a delicious $2 drink. He sensed a semi-somber moment and delicately moved around us and didn't make me act like a fool for my birthday. Thank you! The food was good, but my steam pot had not been handled well in prep. Most of the clams had broken shells and I kept biting into shells. On top of that most of the clams we're pretty gritty and sandy. I probably won't order them again. I didn't say anything at the time as I was already very full from all of the delicious crab and lobster claws.

Hated the experience! It took over 25 minutes to get the order drinks. Another 35 to get our meal served. Never came back to refill our drinks and waited another 15 min to get the check! Felt like walking out of there and see if the would notice us gone. Meal was average. Nothing special

We can in with a party of 9 and called 20 minutes prior and they said it should not be a problem. Upon arrival we had the worse welcome telling us we have to wait 25 minutes in a ver NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE way. Thanks to Eli - he changed our experience. If you come here ask to sit in ELI'S section. It would have been 5-stsrs if it was not for the rude welcoming.

I didn't know restaurants ran out of food no corn, no fries, and no clam strips, and some other things. This was our first visit here. Apparently it happens every Sunday. Wow.

We used to eat here before we moved and liked it a lot. The server seemed much too busy to take our order and blamed me when she brought the wrong drink. We didn't get silverware until the food runner brought our app (sampler), which came with a revolting sauce & horribly chewy calamari. The rest of it was alright. Anytime the server came by, she'd practically throw whatever she was bringing onto the table and run away again. The seafood in the entrée was good, but I think they ought to rename the dirty rice "mud rice" in addition to literally tasting of dirt, it was incredibly mushy. Dis-gust-ting. The exterior of the hushpuppies were burned and the interior gummy, served with limp, cold fries. To sum up, this is what I wrote on the back of the receipt: "We're sorry to have inconvenienced you by choosing to eat here. It won't happen again."

The bar tender was extremely slow, server wasn't social. $32.00 king crab pot was cold. Server insisted she would fix it, 3 minutes later... You can be assured it was microwaved to re heat. And was a very skimp portion. Def won't be returning.

I just want to warn the consumer- Don't waste your time or money. Their customer service is horrendous. Took forever to get seated and took another 15 min just to get water. Other tables were waiting on water also, yet there were about 6 awkward teenage servers walking around looking lost. Signed up for email program and got a free appetizer but it never came through on my email so the waitress ok'd it with her manager to honor it... Which was cool. Took awhile to get our food. We ordered the joes steam pot for 2 and when it came out it had a total of 2 crab clusters in there, minimal corn and potatoes and about 8 shrimp for $42. I immediately called the server back over to ask him wth was this? 2 crab clusters and 8 shrimp?!? He apologized and said there should be 10 shrimp and asked if I wanted him to bring out the 2 shrimp. I was appalled and completely offended. WTH am I going to do with 2 shrimp and did he really just ask me that?!? I hate to be one of those people who complain but this was completely justifiable. I was already steaming on the inside from the service beforehand and asked to talk to the manager. Manager came out and asked what the problem was and how could he make it right but from the tone of his voice he was really annoyed, so we just told him to take the food back and give us our check. We ended up paying for our "free appetizer" and left with a bad taste in our mouths. Whole family left hungry. It was just one of those place that you shoulda known better when you got that feeling when you first walked in the door. WILL NEVER WASTE MY TIME OR MONEY THERE AGAIN. Joe's Crab Shack blows big time.

The drinks were good, and that was about the end of it. Went here on a Saturday night...it wasn't packed, so I was excited! Too bad that's because the food isn't good! Our appetizer was ok, fried food was hot but just tasted like basic fried food. If you go there, get the steampot. I made the mistake of getting a lobster/shrimp/scallop plate...they were so over cooked I had to cut my chuck of lobster meat with a KNIFE! Chocolate smores dessert was more like a slab of dark chocolate brownie dough that was sickly sweet. We won't go back!

What a horrible place to eat. If your looking for a Chuck E Cheese that serves seafood, you will love this place. There is nothing good about this place, from people waiting for a table standing right on top of you - to the horrible dancing servers and making people act like idiots for there birthday... don't waste your money here.

Visited for my birthday, because I love crab. I've been here before and it was ok, now I will never return. In all dinner took 3 hours. 45 minutes to be seated ( ok, we expected a wait ) but 2 hours and 15 minutes to get our food no eat what little we ate. Our food was supposedly served to another table and we had to wait for it to be prepared again. When we did get it my steampot was cold, the mussels overcooked, and the scallops undercooked ( honestly not sure if they were cooked at all ). My husbands food was warm but gross, they added some sauce that was so sickly sweet it made us gag. We got the wrong sides served to us and had to wait ... Again... For the right ones. And, just to make it all better... When our bill was processed through our bank they charged us more than authorized. My husband tipped in cash and zeroed out the tip area, and we have the receipt so we are positive what the bill should be. The manager is supposedly looking into it. My first attempt to email corporate got a bad email address ( straight from the website ) and my second hasn't been responded to yet. All in all we paid over $100 ( including our babysitter, gas, bill, tip, and unauthorized extra charge ) to have a bad dinner on my birthday. Yea, I don't recommend going.

It wasn't busy at all so we got seated right away. Everyone was very friendly. The server even gave our 2 year old daughter a plastic shark to play with. I thought that was nice of him. The food was good. My only complaint is that the server didn't tell us about the special that day. We found out about it after we had put in our order.

A swing and a miss. I'm not getting the concept of Joe's here. Everything sounds delicious, but just like a spring day in England...it arrives cold, limp and dreary. There's only one thing worse than being served cold lobster, crab and muscles. And that's being served lot's of it. You work hard to "get crackin'" using their proprietary claw busters and shell rippers, hell was I trying to eat a meal or flip a house? Don't get me wrong, the ribs were great, but that's sorta the point. I don't want to go to a seafood place and order cow. I'm just thankful it wasn't my birthday and someone posted a silly video of me singing Tiny Bubbles with a snorkel.

WOW. I traveled from Pueblo (100mi south) and I don't normally go to Joe's Crab Shack... I'm glad I did. The bartender ..Phil I think . . Was very inviting and the drinks and food were awesome. Good people all around. I highly recommend this Joes, it's the best in the state! Thanks! Kevin PS I tried to paste a picture of the restaurant but The app doesn't support it.....it's awesome!

We are from the gulf coast. Really wanted this to be good since Colorado struggles to get good sea food restaurants. It was really bad. The atmosphere was boring not filled with energy and music. The food, my wife had good luck with a steam bucket, my daughter just picked at hers, the boys and I, well everything fried was overdone and under cooked. Grease was too hot Browning before cooking. Everything had a burned taste and was greasy. The service was slow, and the cost $149 plus a tip? Yea that's right. Other than my wife, could have gone to long john silvers for better food and it would have been about $40. I will not be going back. I read the reviews and thought should I go? The reviews are here for s reason. Save your money, there are better places. Support local owned restaurants.

The salad was bland and they only gave me a teaspoon of salad dressing. I ordered the Maui Mahi which was like getting fish jerky. It came with rice which is okay and green beans which were severely over cooked and mushy. Maybe I should have ordered the crab?

Great family place, great place to go to celebrate an event. I order the Arctic Bay and it was phenomenal. The lobster was moist. This was my first time having Queen crab and I loved the sweetness, flakiness and how they were bigger than snow crab. This is definitely the place to go for fresh sea food with a punch. Ask for erica she was great.

Very firat time here. Very unprofessional environment. Employees were sitting on the counters. Yelling and head banging to the very loud music. Food was nothing amazing. Lobster was over cooked and blah. Beat thing we had was the corn. Waitress came over one time. No water refills or how was your meal. We paid out very high priced tab of 77 dollars with a 100. She brought back a 20 and 3 dollar bills. Well she didnt get the 20 i can tell you that. Will never go back.

Joe's is open Saturday despite what Yelp says. Duh! We've been here twice now and both times it was just great. If you can get past the t-shirts and the occasionally too-enthusiastic product push Joe's here in Westminster is a great find. There's a covered patio with a great mountain view - best way to celebrate living in Colorado and eating fresh fish. My wife had the snow crab - absolutely delicious according to her. I had the mahi mahi and the southern catch or whatever they call it. Very well done. The key lime pie is so good we just couldn't resist ordering it for our second dinner as well.

Ordered the crab stuffed mushroom. The mushrooms were great but the mini shrimps that accompanied it stank! They were not fresh even though the manager claimed they were. He was also not happy with our feedback and took offence to it. He didn't take it off our tab even though the waiter suggested that he would request that for us.

Great fun place!! We had Erica and she was so willing to make our night special. She was knowledgeable about the food, drinks and deserts. She was quick and attentive to our party. I love the steam pots and how you can adapt then to your liking. I like really hot and spicy food, so I was able to choose my pot and my spice. They dance every so often to liven up the environment. If you are celebrating something special they will dance and sing to you to make your day special The drinks are well made, unique twists and they again are willing to accommodate. Don't skip the deserts they are huge and I recommend sharing them.

We went to Joe's crab shack this past Friday! We love seafood, especially crab legs. The crab legs were good, not the best I've ever had but we still very much enjoyed them. What I need to rave about is our server. I believe his name is Sheldon and he was super nice and very helpful! We have never had a poor experience there and we love the enthusiasm of all of their staff members! We will definitely be back!

Quick version: skip this place, not worth it at all. Long version: Visited Joes on 2/13/14. The experience was pretty negative overall. First off, a couple that arrived after us was seated before us, therefore we were skipped. Annoying, yes, but not a huge deal since we were in a good mood and looking forward to dinner. Our server, Melissa, was very friendly and attentive. Things were looking up! We ordered the Great Balls of Fire appetizer, and I have to say they were delicious. Unfortunately, that was the last truly tasty thing we ate. I ordered the snow crab legs bucket, my husband ordered the crab stuffed flounder with a side of loaded potatoes and hush puppies (the sides were both substitutions). It took quite awhile for the entrees to arrive. When they did come out, the sides that were ordered were missing. The server did correct this quickly, but the mashed potatoes weren't loaded, just plain, and they were cold and literally crusty. The hush puppies were just not very tasty, they had zero flavor. The flounder was gross, it was dry and not appetizing. My crab legs were good, not the best ever, but good. They came with corn on the cob (not great), 2 whole red potatoes (ok), and a biscuit (biscuits in a can from the grocery store are better). The meal also included garlic butter which I assumed would be melted, but it was cold and gelatinous, I didn't even attempt to use it. A manager came by our table and asked how our meal was, my husband voiced his displeasure about his entree, the manager did comp it and gave us a card for a free dessert on our next visit (useless, we won't be back). I will say the service was good, the manager did the right thing and our server was always attentive, the food and beers were slow but that was probably out of her control. The food was sub-par at best. It's frustrating to spend $60 on food (this includes the comped fish) and be completely unsatisfied. If you want a big chain seafood restaurant, take your dollars to Red Lobster and enjoy some of those delicious cheddar bay biscuits.

I love Joe's crab shack, coming from the san Francisco area we didn't expect to find one here that would actually have decent food. The crab legs are good, but the pot pie is by far the most delicious thing I've ever tasted! We came on a Saturday night, big mistake we waited for about 45 mins, and another party of 2 came in after us and was seated before us, and then we were seated before another party of 2 that were waiting, just proved they have no type of order in that place !

The food was terrible. Everything on my platter was over cooked. Took 3/4 of it home, and it will probably end up in the trash. Unbelievable how I actually paid for this, and I spent almost $25 on my plate. Would give no stars if I could. My friend got the lobster, was not even freshly cooked, tasted warmed up. Do not go here. Terrible Food!

There's slim pickin's up in the area of town - off Sheridan Blvd. near Hwy 36. So after a first Spring game of golf, when all parties involved need cold ones, where is there to go? We chose Joe's and parked it @ one of the picnic tables on the patio. It was a beautiful day, bright sunshine and a beautiful pour of a wheat beer in a tall glass. Other than a quick stop for a cold one, I think Joe's is highly overpriced for the blase seafood they serve. On a second recent visit to Joes, just around 6 pm (at which time Happy Hour was already over. wait? what?), I opted for a bowl of chowda to cut the edge off of my hunger pains. The "bowl" was more like a meager ladle - probably more of a cup than a bowl. I felt ripped off. And still hungry. I'm also just not impressed by chain restaurants that try to create a trendy vibe by hiring staff and inviting them to be as informal as possible with customers. It's contrived and it just never works. It feels weird (& not in a good way) to have someone sit down at the table with me and greet me with "hey." Not one of my favorite places, but not a terrible choice if you want deep-fried seafood and don't care so much about the atmosphere.

We both had the Maine Grill. The lobster had clearly been boiled earlier. It was still pretty good - not the best I've had but tasty for land locked Colorado. The vegetables were perfect. The best part was the bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops!! Delish!! Be sure to ask for Sheldon. He was thoughtful, and attentive without pestering - that's a fine line to walk for a good server.

This place is fun and different, but the food is just OK. Staff is generally decent, and the facility is generally clean. it's really pricey though- which wouldn't be an issue if the food was superb. We still go once in a while, but not a favorite.

I know there are critics of this place. But coming from the East Coast I am used to having shellfish and I really miss it. Joe's is like a little slice of home... Yes it may not be the same as Boston Harbor or the Jersey shore but it sure is great with a nice cold beer and some great crab legs and shrimp. I meet my friend from New Jersey there regularly and we pretend we're back home

Great food, great atmosphere. Try the crab dip it's really good. Great experience from entrance to leave. Hostess was very friendly, our server was extremely knowledgeable and managers stopped by with our check and invited us back.

If I could give no stars I would! This place is a joke and the managers are worse! I came in with my family to celebrate a birthday on Saturday and left starving and pissed off! I had a group of 7 and at first the whole party was not there so we didn't get greeted for about 10 minutes then when the rest of my group got there waited for another 10 minutes for someone to even get our drink order. When we finally were greeted the guy yelled over from two tables to say "I will be there in a minute" awesome....I was a server for years and would never do that to one of my tables. Finally when our server decided we were worthy enough of his attention he took our drink order then we waited another 10 minutes to bring back our drinks and not enough my sister didn't get her water that she ordered my brother in law waited an additional 10 minutes and at that point I didn't even attempt to order my drink. We ordered our food and about an hour later it came out....cold although the plates were boiling hot which leads me to believe our food was left under a heat lamp for awhile. Considering it's seafood my exactly comforting....when I took a night of my soup and it was cold I was tired and over it. I walked to the front to over hear a manager threatening to write up a member of her staff which just seemed to be an attempt to flex her power and completely inappropriate to do in front of multiple guest and co workers. When she finally acknowledge that I was standing here listening I askers her if she was the manager and she said yes. I explained everything that we had dealt with and honesty it seemed like she could give less then a crap. I have been a manger of a restaurant and can say I would never react the way that this woman did. She had apprantly "just checked on he kitchen and they were fine" but yet my food was cold and everyone else's was as well. She approached the table and seemed annoyed by the fact that we were even there. There are WAYYYYY to many other options to waste your time with this place and honestly they should be ashamed of themselves! NEVER GOING BACK!

This place is the closest you will get in Colorado to east coast steampots of fresh seafood! My grandfather was a crabber on the Potomac River and I grew up with fresh steamed blue crab seasoned with Old Bay. We would steam them in a ginormous pot outsdie while Nanny was in the kitchen making all of the accompaniments. The rest of us got to play in the river and the adults socialized while waiting for crab. This place curbs my craving for home when I can't get back. The servers all play fun songs, I think on the hour, and dance and sing for the customers. Kind of cheesy but still fun because it is different. The atmosphere is very similar to many coastal restaurants back in Florida. It is bright and beachy.

I've had good experiences and bad ones at this joes. Last week we ate there, got a shrimp bucket for appetizer, two steam pots one was spicy boil and the other was garlic, and a mahimahi burger. The shrimp buckets are always so yummy, I could eat like 5. It seems like the steam pots are hit or miss though. I mean I know we live in Colorado, it's not the freshest, but still. My favorite flavors would definitely be the spicy boil and the ragin Cajun. Sometimes you have a lot of crab legs, sometimes very little. Sometimes the crab comes out easy like fresh ones do, sometimes it tastes fishy and sticks to the side. The service has been pretty awful as of recently. Some of the "scarfing" comments made by our waitress were very rude considering we were a table of two WOMEN one man. She kept slyly flirting too which is not how you should be trying to get tips. I also wish they'd slice open the king crab just one little slice to make it easier to get into. They used to do this but haven't for a while. Those spines hurt!!! I feel like we should be getting more for what we pay for here. But I still have always loved joes.

30 min wait for mediocre food. Asked them to perform a dance and it wasn't done. Crab cakes were in pieces and tasted ok for their price. Shrimp trio was good. Vegetables were very good. They were out of Alfredo so had to order a different pasta that wasn't so great. The kids Captain Meal was very good. I suggest that if you have kids. The service was extremely slow. Although she was nice, it took 10mins to get more water and only brought one cup when three were empty. Waited 15mins for our ticket after taking our plates.

AVOID!!! DISHONEST!! THE STAFF AND MANAGERS ARE CHILDISH CROOKS!! I think they were trying to pad their tips illegally - we received our original bill for $70, and asked to have it split over two cards. When the two separate receipts came back, they added to more than $10 over the original total. There was no mention of this, no apology, nothing. They came up with an excuse that they had miscalculated the first time. I have never had a restaurant increase my bill between the first check and the credit card receipt - not only is this unprofessional but it may be illegal. I talked to a Manager but he was obviously not trained or qualified to handle such a basic situation (one that would have been easy for them to fix and create happy loyal customers), so I decided instead to contact their corporate HR and ethics hotline. As for the food, I have been an occasional at Joe's patron (different locations in different states) for years and will say that this must be their worst location - the crawfish were very dry. They offer souvenir cups for some of their drinks, and yet our waiter told us we had to take the ones we drank from - gross! If this is actually their procedure, it is not up to par with other similar restaurants in this category like Bubba Gumps and Pappadeaux. I have a very bad feeling about this place - my bet is that there is some really shady stuff going on here. I hope the company's internal audit unit investigates this location.

We ate at Joe's on 8/18/13 (same day as another reviewer) and we were lucky enough not to suffer any ill effects from their food (but maybe from the amount of our bill). The atmosphere is great and so are the drinks. Although I am not a big seafood eater, the rest of my party loves it, and they thought their steam pots were incredible (with the exception of the veggies - slightly under cooked and bland). This was my second visit and the first time I had ordered the fish fry, which was very bland, so I decided to go with the coconut shrimp. Well, I did not taste any coconut and the fried shrimp were also bland. They were a good size, but lacked flavor. The s'mores dessert was incredible as was the waitress. With that said, this is a novelty restaurant and I am certain that there are better seafood places in the area.

went back for what I thought would be a easy 3-4 star review ended up being a bummer, only took 11 mins from the only reference point of time I had to goo off of to have some one ask us for drink order's. I asked for a recommendation on cocktails that she could not give because I don't know why so she just brought us water so "I could decide what I wanted to drink. settled on a beer that waited at the edge of the bar as my waitress was M.I.A. for awhile. then our food came out that half still kinda warm from the deep fryer but cool at the same time so I'm not even sure if it was any good, we were going to get dessert but decided not to as it would have came melted most likely

Since moving to Denver on a more homebase place I've been craving all the food and crablegs you can get for a good price and tasty meal in Vegas. Well since it'll be a another 2 weeks before I head back I just had to get my fix, and what better place to go than Joe's C.S. Now if you want peace and quiet, well anyone knows this isn't the place to go, but kids do love it. Ok, I can't fanthom why this place has low rating, when this c. shack is way better than the one's in Las Vegas and I should know. The service here is great and yes it can be a little more pricier than the average meal, but hello...sherlock, seafood is pricey. They do a good job here and our waitress "Amy" was attentive and on it. Now in Vegas no one really goes to these places when you can get great seafood at the higher ended buffet's such as Wynn and the cheaper one's like Green Vally Ranch. Ok here's the run down: Steampot with Cajun seasoning - dungeness, snow, shrimp, red potato's, corn - Great seson actually the best flavor, not that spicey I had - Steampot - lobster claw (very small and not tasty) - snow, clams, sausage and what comes with it. - Everything but the lobster was delcious, love the strong garlic taste and the sausage was really tasty. Clam chowder bowl - ofcourse good sprite to drink All this and under $77 bucks, so to me this is pretty cheap. The last 3 years I was a really big Food Diva.. lol ate out like everyday 3 to 4 times a day because of business or my schedule and ofcourse before economy to a plunge though places are offering cheaper deals now. We use to pay over $100 for 2 people on an average. So basically what I'm saying is that for seafood in a place where you don't have much of a variety like Vegas, this is a good deal. I could've eaten more, but I'm saving that for when I go back home in a few weeks. ;-)

If you look at Red Lobster as being a white collar seafood restaurant, then Joe's Crab Shack, would be considered the blue collar version. The pricing are the same (~$20 per dish), just less manners and utensils are needed. The food is good, not a ton of butter is needed or used compared to Red Lobster dishes. I wish the fish was a little more seasoned. The hush puppies are nice, they have pieces of corn and green bell peppers in them. The bacon wrapped shrimp and cream cheese is an interesting take. I do wish they gave more veggies on the plate, 4 small asparagus probably won't make any mothers happy. I would like to try some of the other foods next time, and see how everything else compares.

Yuck. I haven't been to Joe's in years, and now I remember why. The service was fine, if not a bit fakey friendly. We sat on the patio, which was nice, and we avoided all the hokey dancing crap. Food was subpar. The crab nachos were delicious, but almost inedibly salty. I still ate them, because they were tasty, but we did comment to the waiter about how salty they were. I ordered the salmon Orleans, which was prepared okay, but tasted overly fishy and not fresh. It was, again, extremely salty. I'm not one to send food back or to complain, as by this point I was sensing a theme to the food. And I saw no reason to send the food back to get something else that was doused in salt. The Mr. ordered the crab pot, which he enjoyed. The lobster tails in it were overcooked and rubbery, although the crab legs were good. To me they tasted too salty, but he said they were fine. And just to be clear, I am a Lover Of Salt. Yes, that deserves capital letters, because I really do love salt that much. However, its main purpose is to enhance the flavors of what you're eating, not to overpower them. I also should mention I got a southern spiked tea (which was waaaay overpriced) that was syrupy sweet. Nice that I get to take the Mason jar home, but I'd rather pay less money and leave the glass. Sigh.....I miss Pappadeaux.

Me and my family were just having a casual dinner on Easter night. I ordered a pasta with a garlic butter sauce, shrimp and peppers. When my meal came, there was more peppers than pasta. I took several bites out of it and noticed there was a piece of blonde hair in my pasta. I wasn't too ticked off because I wasn't expecting everything to be perfect there based off the reviews I've read. I told my waiter about it, and they got me a new plate of pasta and the manger came out to apologized. They did not add the pasta to my bill. My waiter was a bit forgetful though.. We had to ask him several times for some sauce and plates. Overall, I do not think it was worth it to go there.

If I could select no stars... I would. This was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had in any restaurant. The waiter was fine... but we all know what fine really means. Our app. was okay, but sadly we should have stopped there. The steam pots were a disgrace, not only did it take the better half of an hour to get our food but it was awful. Not only was the corn obviously reheated multiple times but it was barely lukewarm. The portions are nothing close to what they advertise and they are obviously prepackaged and frozen. To end our beautiful experience our bill was over $100 for two people. I've spent less at Willie G's steak house in Denver...

My experience here was less than stellar. My family and I came on a Saturday night and had to wait a while (which was expected). While waiting for a table to become available, my husband and I went to the bar for drinks. The bartenders were obviously swamped and it took 5-10 minutes for us to get acknowledged. However, after we were seen, our drinks were made promptly and tasted great. Our server was energetic and efficient. However, the food was less than great. Since I am not a seafood fan (Hello! We live in Colorado...this stuff is not fresh), I ordered a Ribeye. The first time it came out, it was cold and raw. I had ordered it medium-rare, but it was actually purple in the middle and ice cold. When I sent it back, a manager came and apologized and offered to get me a complimentary salad. 10 minutes later, the manager returned with a new steak and it was even more raw than the first one. I mean, purple and cold in the center. Worst of all, the manager insisted that it was "close to medium rare" rather than admitting it was still undercooked. I am not just a picky steak eater- I will eat a steak cooked anywhere from rare to medium-well without complaint. However, the steaks I received were RAW in the middle. It seemed as though they were frozen when thrown on the grill. Besides the steak, the crab and whatnot seemed acceptable to everyone else. The sides (potatoes and veggies) were bland and unimpressive. However, the service was very good with the exception of the manager, who I felt handled my complaint rather poorly. Although he kept offering complimentary items, it would have been more professional for him to listen and empathize rather than just throwing free food at me. A very mediocre (and expensive) experience.

The garlic mussels here are pretty good when they get a good bunch of mussels. we once ordered the mussels and they were strange smelling. They replaced it with a new order of mussels. I have been here three times and we have a standard order: garlic mussels for appetizers Dungeness Crabs in spicy boil The service is ok. Not consistent though. sometimes they are friendly, sometimes they don't care, and sometimes you need to go find them.

This place is a living nightmare. To be fair, my review is more a review of the chain overall, vs. this one restaurant (the first and last one I shall visit). One star for the chain, one star for them accommodating a larger party (FYI, they don't accept reservations on Fridays). There is not one. single. vegetarian entree on the menu. As a vegetarian, one can choose from mozzarella sticks ($8 for $0.82 worth of ingredients? Methinks not.), or a few sides for $2.29/ea (fries, slaw, some other crap). Get with the times, Joe. Real vegetarians do not eat fish (those are pescetarians you're thinking of), especially the ones who got guilted into the birthday party for a friend here and knew in advance what she was getting herself into. For the record, said friend owes me BIG TIME... And of course, being a chain and all, drink prices aren't listed on the menu anywhere. Here's a hint: THEY'RE OBSCENELY OVERPRICED. The Dude and I decided we'd go for a couple of drinks, give our wishes, and eat elsewhere. Four drinks later (and only four drinks), we're hit with a $35 tab. I could have paid for cover charge, drinks, and tip at a strip club for that price. Or a quality bottle of booze and a 2-liter of mixer. JFC. Caveat emptor: Mason jar margs/teas/etc. are $8.99 each. Sure, you get to keep the jar with a crab on it, but woopty shiz. Go buy a bottle of Jack and a flat of jars from King Soopers and still come out ahead. Bahama Mamas = $5.99 each So after all was said and drunk, the server mixed up the cards and I paid for The Dude's lame jar drinks. Whatever. Can we please just get out of here? Before they "GET THE PARTY STARTED (again)!!" and do another cheesy dance, all of the servers with the blank look of "I still have my dignity here somewhere... if I could just remember where I put it last..." on their faces... - Hey Farve, what's the name of that restaurant you love so much? You know the one with all the goofy sh*t on the walls? - Shenanigans! - No, the one with all the goofy sh*t on the walls, and the gift shop up front, and the servers doing the electric slide, riding the train, and pouring overpriced drinks alongside glorified Long John Silver's? - Oh. Joe's Crab Shack...

I went in with lowish expectations as you can't really shoot for the moon when eating at a seafood restaurant in a landlocked state like Colorado. However, despite our kind server... I was dissatisfied with the selections of reasonably priced entrees, quality (or lack thereof) of the mojito I ordered from the bar and being forced to hear the entire staff sing and dance what seemed like every 15 minutes. in the end, this Joes Crab Shack is as if Red Lobster joined forces with Chuck-e-Cheeses. Unless your desperate for crab legs, pass on going here next time for a meal.

Gave into the marketing since Hawaii doesn't have a single Joe's. Overall I would say it's not too bad. Definitely a family place as there are employees dancing to songs and making birthdays and milestone events everybody's knowledge. The food was rather good, and the desserts were amazing. Since I'm not the biggest seafood fan I can't say I'd be coming back or visiting another Joe's anytime soon but it is someplace worth checking out if you like seafood.

We broke our 'Lipstick on the Coffeecup' rule, which is: If you walk into a place and it doesn't feel right, you should leave. There are way too many restaurants in the world to feel so needy about a place. We learned this at Joe's Crab Shack in Westminster. We should have left. The host was really nice and friendly, but just walking into a chain restaurant is usually a poor choice. My boyfriend has Celiacs and they usually have no clue what that even means. Joe's did have a special 'gluten free' menu, but we are not eating this way out of choice or trying to be cool. J gets really sick if he has gluten and tries to choose wisely. Enough said, we went in anyway. The GF menu was incorrect according to our server. Our server was nice enough, and friendly, we came in during shift change, it was dead, he was nice. Our food took way too long for a salad and friggin shrimp bucket. J basically got a head of Romaine lettuce, which he'd ordered Blue Cheese for and couldn't see any, and when he told the waiter this, the waiter said 'Its in there.' and left. I would think to please a customer...you put it on the top, or go get more. Or you can leave...whichever. The bucket of 'fresh' shrimp was rubbery and terrible. (Steubens SHRIMP ROCKS!!! THAT REVIEW IS TO COME LATER PEEPS!!! AND ITS ONLY $7) (I thought it was swimming up until I ordered it.) My food was The Big Easy - rice, fried pickles, fried breaded shrimp and sausage platter. (The sausage was really, really good.) It was cold. It tasted like it came from a bag of frozen stuff bought at Costco. Our food basically sat in the window for a while. Our friendly at first waiter was no where to be seen, he threw our food down, said the blue cheese was on there and left. So we were very disinterested later to hear the conversation he tried to start wherein he informed us that the Health Dept. was there now and he was upset as there was no time to clean now. Not good to know. Bullet Point Number One in service skills: Don't complain about bad conditions of sanitation or complain to customer that Health Dept. is on premisis and that you are worried. When you are hungry, and running errands, to complain would have meant more time there - possibly a re order of food - which we didn't want if the first round was so terrible. We were friendly to everyone and we left. Host dude was still rockin cool. We left. We moved on. We won't go back. Lesson learned. I get it that maybe we should have ordered their specialty 'buckets' - but way too much food. What I did order was just a bunch of fried stuff anyway - but we still won't go back.

I love this place. It's a great place to take kids, with all the lights, fake sharks, dancing etc. If I did not have kids, I might think this place was corny, but I do, and don't. Both my little ones were entertained throughout dinner which made for a much more enjoyable time for us adults. They even have a playground off of the bar, why don't more places do that! I will definitely be back.

We've been to this location a few times now. The food is okay - our lobster has come out overdone a few times. The restaurant is loud - which is how most Joe's Crab Shacks are. The waiter wasn't the best - he cleaned off some of the items of our table while we were still eating. A small tub of lobster butter was poured onto my lap because of this. When he poured water, it dripped into my purse - which was on the bench next to me. I think he may have been a little overwhelmed. I really wish that there were more options for seafood in this area, other than chains. That's what I get for living in a landlocked state!

This place is like a video for how a restaurant SHOULD NOT BE ! Take a seat at the bar, and then have to ask the bartender to wipe down said bar full of who knows what stickiness. 3 employees eating at same bar during biz hours ? And then proceed to go back to work, no hand washing, just fire away. One of said peeps was a bartender, who proceeded to still eat some chips behind the bar, and yes still make drinks & garnish them. This place was filthy from top to bottom. Fruit flies, bar mats disgusting, mats under glasses disgusting. We barely made it through beers, and I made sure mine started with a cap on it. This place should be shut down. If all this is noticeable at the front of the house, imagine what you can't see in the back.

I used to work here. But I'm reviewing this as a customer. Desserts are really good like the Banana Flambe. Most things on the menu are deep fried and I think that's a cheap-o way of flavoring food unless it's Fish & Chips. The bucket of sea food is a good deal but sometimes the corn is tasteless. If you order fries, expect to get like 5 potato wedge fries. I do REALLY like the crab cakes! They set the standard for them. Red Lobster's don't even compare. If you are into lots of cool, trendy music and fun dancing every 45 minutes then definitely come here! One time a couple came in while we were doing a dance and I had to run up to the host stand to greet them and they froze in their tracks and backed out of the restaurant because they probably were anti-fun.

My husband's grandparents decided to take me here for a casual, yet fun dining experience since I was in town for work. I wasn't amused...the food was mediocre, the service was ok, there were tons of teeny-boppers at the next table making all this noise, and it's noisy to begin with. They got my beer wrong but I sucked it up and drank it anyway. I wasn't too pleased with waiting at the bar for our table when there were tons of open spots for us to be seated. We ordered a glass of wine and we had to pay at the bar and finish at the bar instead of bringing it to our table.

Ok, so here's the thing. I have tried Joes in San Diego, Portland OR and Austin, TX. All of them have been universally terrible. So why did we decide to try it again? Beats me, I like to be thorough I suppose! Every other visit to a Joes I have gotten a sandwich or pasta item and have been absolutely disappointed in the quality and flavor. So this time we decided to try some actual crab. I mean, it's right there in the name, right? My fiance got a Lobster Daddy thingie and I got a smaller crab pot with a lobster claw. Despite taking an awfully long time to get to us, we actually enjoyed our food. Nothing was over or undercooked, everything was really quite adequate. I mean, living where we do, seafood is always going to be a bit of a let down to two former coastal dwellers like us, but really, this place was not terrible. The atmosphere on the other hand really kind of stinks. I hate the random dancing every 45 minutes, I hate the shouting and yelling when someone orders a specialty drink, I just really hate all of that kitsch. Our waitress was nice enough but I hated the bibs she put on us with her clever little remarks about our food, and I really hated that she complained about the steam and "spice cloud" in the kitchen (I mean, we still tipped her well enough, she did the job and she was friendly, I just felt a little uncomfortable with the complaining) So will we be back? Yeah, probably, when we want to eat crab again. Will I ever give this place more than 3 stars? I seriously doubt that. It is what it is, a major chain seafood restaurant in the middle of land locked colorado. As long as you stick to the crab legs, you will probably get a decent enough meal out of it. (note: While I prefer the crab @ Red Claw, my fiance thought the legs at joes were larger and more meaty, not to mention easier and cleaner to eat)

A horrible amount of food for the price! $29.00, for 2 crab legs(and I mean 2 legs, not the bunch like your suppose to get!), a very small lobster, and 6 steamed shrimp. The service was good, but I can't understand why they would skimp on the portions. Will not be eating there again.

Came here on my birthday, but didn't tell them that's why I was here. Apparently 7/12 was everyone else's birthday as well as I had to listen to them sing to 10 other people. I didn't bother to tell them about my birthday since it no longer seemed special to be the 11th person to be sung to. The waitress was nice, but not very attentive. She was overly attentive to a couple sitting behind me and my husband. It was a little creepy. She would just stand there for several minutes at a time for no reason. The food was good. I got the spicy queen crab and the husband had the bbq king crab. The food deserves a high rating, but the service doesn't. It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't good.

I ate here last night (8/18/13) and had one of the crab pots. I woke up at 5 am puking my brains out from food poisoning and have felt horrible all day. I will NEVER eat at a Joe's Crab Shack anywhere EVER AGAIN!

Ok, so it's my fault for even going into this place! I'm not a fan of chain restaurants and getting seafood in Colorado at a chain restaurant....you're just ASKING for mediocre at best! The atmosphere was crazy, the place was so loud that we couldn't even hear our server, and we're not old fogies either---so noise is something I I've never complained about before. As a few others mentioned the menu isn't terribly exciting, and the food was definitely not good. The crab seemed overcooked, as did the shrimp, the stuffed mushrooms were really bland, just no flavor and the coconut shrimp were pretty bland too. Oh, I also loved that the coconut shrimp came with a "side" of coleslaw----it was in one of those little bitty paper cups that you squirt ketchup in at places like Wendy's! It was about 2 forkfuls in that little cup! My stomach was very upset with me for making it undergo such an experience and the Tums came out as soon as we got home. Never again! How do places like these stay in business?

Hubby and I stopped in for an early dinner before a movie. I had a Joe's Classic Steampot and he had Fish and Shrimp. Mine was pretty good, except I wasn't aware this one had seasoning. I almost asked for another one but just decided to eat it. My crab tasted good and that was really all I cared about. Hubby was disappointed. He got two pieces of a fried fish and a few shrimp. He would have preferred one piece and more shrimp. His fries were good, but a bit salty and the fish was seasoned (well) which I wouldn't have expected. He was also pissed his soft drink was $2.50. That is why I always drink WATER when we go out. Overall food was good to okay. The place was nearly empty though, but we were there EARLY.

My Kids and I love Joe's Crab Shack's BBQ crab. Over the last few months, we have seen the quality and the quantity of food being provided has declined even as the price has increased. A crab dinner will run you 25 bucks a plate now. You would think they would measure out food portions, but it appears to be at the whim of the cook. We ordered 3 platters this last visit and one of the platters was so light, even the waiter commented on it and got the manager to provide another claw. So bottom line - you don't know how much you will get or if it will be prepared well. If the price was less than 10 bucks, who cares? But when the per person price with tax, tip, entree and drinks for this meal will run you close to 40 or 50 bucks, it is a big deal. I always give the company a chance to work with me first. I sent a note to Joe's six weeks ago. I got no response (except for their standard "we've received your message and will be in touch shortly"). I then followed up two weeks ago. Same result - no response. So you can assume any comment you send this chain will go unanswered. I'm not sure we will be going back. I'm surprised the company didn't care to respond as we were eating there about every 3 weeks at well over a 100.00 per visit. Oh well - their loss.

When i need a cold beer after a long day or a Fun exciting way to celebrate "anything" I choose Joe's. The staff is always friendly and FUN. They welcome me and my family as if we were part of the Joe's Family. The managment is always attentative and if ever anything is wrong with your visit, they are sure to make it right. I celebrated my 42nd birthday at Joe's and it was the best time ever. If loud is your thing and Fun is your game think Joe's Crab Shack Westminster. Tell em Paulie sent you, you wont get anything but ..just tell em.

The Good: Crab legs. They're great here, and they can prepare them in a number of different ways. They even have Dungeness crab legs, which are hard to find elsewhere. At Joe's, they can do a garlic steam or barbecue steam, and the legs taste unlike crab legs elsewhere. The Bad: Not much worth getting here other than crab legs. The legs are a tad too expensive as well, which sours me a bit on the place. It's not like they are all-you-can-eat or something (that would be awesome), so it's hard to justify coming here instead of any other seafood joint. The crab legs would likely be inferior there, but everything else would be better and probably cheaper. The Ugly: The place is just plain obnoxious. Every few minutes there are sirens, some song will come on, and the waitstaff will all have to dance in a giant conga line through the restaurant. First of all, stop dancing and go get my crab legs. Second, why does this place turn into Chuck-E-Cheese every few minutes? If I wanted to watch a bunch of morons dance around while I'm trying to eat, I'll eat a Hungry-Man dinner in front of Dancing With The Stars. Cut the crap and bring me my food. The gal and I like to request patio seating, even when it's too chilly out to justify it, simply because the dancing doesn't make its way outside all that often. The place is like a kid's restaurant, but with crab legs. I don't even understand that. How many 7-year-olds do you know that love crab legs? When I was 7, I liked chicken fingers and pizza. Seeing the severed limbs of an animal on my plate would probably have made me cry or something. Who does this kind of lunacy appeal to? The Skinny: Whatever. Sit outside, order barbecue-steamed Dungeness crab legs, then get the hell out.

The menu is nothing special and the main reason why I won't go back is due to the picnic style bench seating and the singing waitstaff. If you want seafood or cajun/creole food, do a bit more research and head elsewhere.
