This restaurant is the best Chinese food I have eaten in years. Based only on comparisons to other Chinese restaurants, I give it 5 stars for food! I would likely give it 3.5 in comparison to the vail restaurant sweet basil. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps, wonton soup, pork dumplings, and moo shu shrimp and had food for multiple meals! Delicious!

May Palace was listed in the restaurant guide left in the condo I was staying at while skiing at Vail earlier this week. I saw some veg options and was excited to check it out. It was very conveniently located from East Vail, about a 10-15 minute drive. I found the service somewhat lacking, our server was rather scatterbrained and I got my meal several minutes after everyone else with me (three other people) had been staring at their food for a while. As for the food itself, I wasn't the biggest fan of the sesame tofu but it was somewhat tasty and at least quite filling. I was glad that Jeff ordered some broccoli with garlic sauce to give the meal more variety than just syrupy coated tofu would offer. Note to vegans: don't order the hot Thai tea. It looked really weird and when I asked the server if it had dairy she said it came from a pre-made packet. I returned it, not wanting to take the chance. I know that iced Thai tea generally comes with cream, but I've never seen a hot Thai tea that wasn't transparent, until now!

Good but expensive. $18 for a chinese entree? I don't think so. But the best Chinese food in the valley by far, if not the only one.

Not fantastic by any means but the only good Chinese food in the valley. A little over priced for what you get but will coax your sesame chicken cravings.

The food was really tasty and the presentation was nice, but the service was lacking. This was my first visit and it seemed that maybe they were short a person. Had to hunt down the server to place order, had to hunt down utensils, and never got the check. Had to go to register and wait while the server took check and change to another customer. I'll try them again, but just one more time.

Mediocre food, high prices, and crap service. The host who we nicknamed "Mr. Personality" was useless and unfriendly. I will not be going back.

Pretty good Chinese food at a great price. They also have great happy hour deals.

Pretty decent/average Chinese food. Not a restaurant I find myself absolutely craving or dying to have, but any time I really just want takeout Chinese to bring home, it has been just fine. We usually get the general tso and fried rice with crab rangoon. Definitely a bit overpriced for the quality of the food, but what can you expect in the Vail Valley. --If you are looking for outstanding Asian food in the Vail Valley though, you should go to Asian Spice Bistro in Edwards. It's only 12 miles away, and the food there is to die for! After discovering Asian Spice Bistro, I probably won't ever be back to May Palace again.

I had forgotten how good the food is here. They feature lots of pineapple and mango in their dishes to add a nice twist to the sauces.

After a long day on the slopes, May Palace take-out helped restore some warmth to my chilly bones. My boyfriend and I split a beef chow fun and a Bangkok chicken, both of which were pretty tasty and well-prepared. Sure, it's not Chinatown, but they neither under- nor over-cooked the chow fun noodles (which, if you're an afficionado like me, you understand how important this is), and the beef tasted like actual! beef! Boyfriend thought the chicken was a little on the sweet side, but I just tempered it with a sprinkling of soy sauce. We devoured every bite. As others have mentioned, it is pretty expensive ($30 for the two dishes), but the mark-up doesn't appear to be more than that anywhere else in this isolated valley. The portion sizes were decent, but not what one would call generous. From what I could tell of the dining room from the entrance hall, it is comfortably upscale-Chinese, and dim. One final note - we called ahead and requested that the food be ready at a specific time so we could catch the bus immediately after picking it up, and they did not disappoint - the bag was ready to go but the food was still hot when we got it home. I definitely recommend it.

This is my usual go-to place for Chinese when in Vail. Like all of Vail, it's overpriced for the quality, but for Vail, it's pretty slightly above average and, for Vail, a better than Vail good price.

Food was not that great for the price. Chicken seems like yesterday's left overs reheated... I know it's Monday... But then maybe Monday should be discount day! Wish I had better stuff to say... Lots of Japanese places close, bummer!

Decent Chinese lunch stop, literally across the street from Vail ski slopes. We had their beef chow fun (rice noodles) and triple mix (shrimp, beef, and chicken) noodles. They also gave us a complimentary soup and green bean dessert.

This place is very sneaky. They charged us 18% automatic gratuity for 5 people. The waiter never told us until it was time to pay. They never came to check on us or refill our water. This is an Americanized Chinese food. They have all your typical Chinese-American food, Kungpao chicken, beef with brocoli, sweet and sour shrimp, etc. The price is reasonable compared to eating inside the resort.

Passed by this place on our way to the springs, May is a pleasant surprise. They have some of the best Tom Yum soup I had... specially good because I was dying for a restaurant that is not pretentious like the ones in Vail village.

We always come here when skiing in Vail. The price is really good for Vail, the food is decent and there's parking. You don't have to wait. Take out is easy too.

Decent atmosphere and food, but horrible service. The servers cater to you initially. However after you place an order, they seem to disappear from site. It's nice to have the server check on you after you receive your food in regards to the food quality or if you need anything else. I had to get up to go to the bar just to get my water refilled. I'm a very patient person but the May Palace employees have me question that thought. Also, I believe the price is high compared to what you actually get.

Was here every day during my visit to vail. what else you can ask for if you can find nice traditional beef noodle in such a small town.

Pretty good food. Super friendly people. Ive done both take out and sit down and always enjoyed both. Not the best chinese ive had but it still good enough to warrant my repeat business.

They have a pretty good fried rice with shrimp. I can't really remember much about the restaurant itself but it's a decent Chinese restaurant. It may be a bit on the pricey side, which is typical for this area.

Get the eggplant with garlic sauce, it is great. Fried rice is good too. Decent prices for booze considering it's Vail. Wine for $5 a glass.

Good Chinese food. A bit over priced, BUT, everything in Vail is! Good service.

The 'dragon lounge' is the bar kinda set off from the restaurant. One of the best happy hours in the valley. By far. Great deals on food and drink everyday. Bartenders are friendly and know what's up. U can order food from whole menu as well. The bar is always full of locals who go in year round. Definately a place not to be missed out on

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
