Haagen Dazs speaks for itself. The 5 stars come from the guy working there who gives suggestions on great places to eat or shop in the area. My family and I have come here to vacation and each time we seek this spot out to grab a shake or cone for the gondola ride up the mountain. If you're going to complain about the price, what are you doing in vail anyway?

I wanted a blended drink of some sort but they had the door propped open with a massive drink cart and I literally couldn't get the baby stroller I was pushing in the door. I walked by three days in a row; same thing. I'm fairly certain this is a fire code violation as well considering the space to get in and out is only 1/3rd the size of the doorway. They are also preventing anyone larger in size or anyone in a wheelchair from entering their store as well. Please resolve this Haagen Dazs!

Fifteen dollars for two cones with a small scoop of ice cream is outrageous. Quality was fine, but it's hard to choke down after spending a small fortune on "just okay" ice cream.

Nothing can surpass Haagen Dazs quality when it comes to Ice Cream. Yeah, it's the butterfat that makes it a SuperPremium Grade Ice Cream, and taste so superior to anything else in it's class, but we can forgive a little butterfat for this decadent flavor. My dad always told me to taste an Ice Cream Brand's Vanilla first. You see, Vanilla is the base for most of the flavors. If the Vanilla is not supremely exceptional, then the rest of their flavors will suffer. Haagen Dazs Vanilla is classic. Rich, smooth, velvety, sweet, creamy, complex. The rest of their flavors follow suit. Dad was right. (Again.) When you start with a quality product, it's hard to go wrong. What I like about the Vail location are their additional offerings. Their Cinnamon Rolls are to die for. They have coffee and hot chocolate drinks. AND: They have employees that seem to WANT to be there. It's nice to see smiling faces while enjoying such a treat.

What?! Who wrote the 5-star review? Have you been to any other ice cream shops in Vail? Joe's? Rimini? Probably not, because you'd see that the stingy servings and price make an outrageous combo. Seriously, every time I've had I've cream here, the scoops don't seem to peek out of the cone. So tiny! My two stars come from 1) the Panda cake I saw here (see my photo), and 2) from the two letters on the wall from children who wrote to the owner which are HILARIOUS. I'm pleased the owners have a sense of humor: now tell your team to be more generous in their scooping!

Don't get me wrong. Haagen Dazs has some seriously good ice cream. This location, however, isn't as delightful as their decadent dulce de leche ice cream. For a chain, their prices are outrageous, even for Vail standards. It is around $4.75 for a kiddie cup. The prices only go up from there. The prices were only half of the ridiculousness of this location. I was about to order a $7.50 smoothie (the smallest possible size). Immediately after, I asked if it was possible to get an extra cup to share. I was swiftly denied my request, with the excuse that "we take inventory of the cups we give out at the end of each month." Ludicrous! Do your wallet (and sanity) a favor, and buy ice cream somewhere else!
