We were strolling back from the park and stopped here for lunch. What a great surprise. The sandwiches were fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. I had the Treehugger (I'm a veggie) and was pleasantly surprised that it had lots of flavor and wasn't just boring vegetables on bread. My husband is a carnivore but tried the Treehugger as well. He really liked it and was satisfied. We had a solid lunch that we enjoyed and weren't charged $100. It was a nice respite from the bad food, poor service and inflated prices in Vail.

Best sandwiches in town hands down- check out the masterpiece. Everything is made fresh to order so it gets a little crazy at lunch, but the staff is awesome & the food is bomb- check out the masterpiece. Good value for your $$ too

It was a fine, but average breakfast. Their fresh cinnamon roll was the highlight of the meal. I went there with the family after thanksgiving. It is the only coffee shop that we have found that doesn't have decaf beans for their espresso. We have not found any that brew decaf yet. It was very empty since there wasn't any skiing on this side of Vail yet. They ran out of biscuits. My croissant was a little burnt on the top, but the bacon was great. The bagel breakfast sandwich was nice and moist. Their latte was average. They did offer soy milk, which is a plus. Their lunch sandwiches look pretty good and I will give the a try some time.

Don't head to BBB too often as it is a bit pricey for frequent visits but if I had the cash I'd be there much more often. Every sandwich I've had from here is delish! Most recently I had The Phoenix, roast turkey, Monterey Jack cheese, sprouts and chipotle aioli on a ciabatta roll. Perfect sammie with a little bit of kick to it. I would recommend this place for a quick ski day lunch and for those times when you are just craving a good sandwich!

I ordered sandwiches from BBB for a company event. They did a great job in catering (on time, professional) and their sandwiches were as expected, fresh and excellent. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

The food in Vail is just so-so. I skied into Vail Village in search of food around lunchtime. I asked around for a sandwich shop and was referred here. I did a quick google before stepping inside and saw that it was to be a "gourmet" sandwich shop. Terrific. Just what I want, a fine sandwich, a cappy, some downtime, and back to the slopes. Well, the vegetarian options were limited so I ordered the Ultimate Grilled Cheese, a cappy, and a water which came to $16.00. The sandwich was neither grilled, nor the Ultimate. It was something I could have thrown together in my kitchen. It wasn't even panini pressed or grilled. It was basically a kaiser roll that had 2-3 cheeses melted on it and some tomatoes that I paid $10 for. I had to force myself to finish it. Plus the ambience was extremely lacking, and the space was quite small. I did see a salad that looked good, but I would not go out of my way to return there.

For being in the village you cannot beat the price. The menu is great, the food is fresh, and the staff is friendly; what else do you need? I also really like that they don't skimp on portions, you can actually eat a sandwich here and be full.

This wonderful small business has a great menu and very nice owner, but do not eat here. The management does not represent the warm environment and will spend more time arguing with you than creating any delicious sandwich. With the many diverse and fabulous menu options in Vail please treat yourself to another dining experience.

Great made to order sandwiches -- my favorite is "The Briggs". Much better than Joe's down the street. Reasonably priced, especially compared to eating on the mountain and it's only a short walk from the base of the Vista Bahn. Best place in central Vail for a quick sandwich or an Apres Ski crepe.

Possibly cheaper than all the other Vail Village dining options. Huge fresh sandwiches at about $10. Got the Lumberjack. Delicious bread. Friendly staff.

Good coffee, good quick breakfast before you hit the slopes. I highly recommend Big Bear Bistro when you are visiting Vail! There are a handful of tables to sit in the restaurant if you want to stay and enjoy your meal. I had a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and it was fresh and delicious! There are not a ton of breakfast spots in Vail, so this is a must!

Great little place to stop in and grab a quick breakfast sandwich. We ate here 2 days in a row and both sandwiches were great. If you dont have a lot of time and dont want to spend a ton, eat here

Great sandwiches!! I normally get the masterpiece or the tree hugger with turkey. Be ready to wait on a busy day. Had to wait over 20 minutes for one sandwich. Check out their menu online and phone in your orders for less wait time!

My go-to in Vail -- good food, good service, and reasonable prices for the town. Also, they serve breakfast items all day. Limited outdoor seating, and it's a little cramped inside, but you won't find a better value!

Outstanding sandwiches. I had the turkey on foccacia. My wife had the veggie sandwich. Suitable beer choices as well (all cans though). Great place to grab a quick bite!

Stopped in for a quick bite for brunch. Short little walk from the four seasons locate in the village center. Cashier he was super nice and accommodating. Small little cafe seats about 30 people. I got the phobic sandwich and it was yummy. It's turkey on a ciabatta bread. You have to eat it quickly because the bread gets hard fast. My hunny got the DaVinci which is the lox bagel and he liked it. Our daughter got the homemade chicken noodle with a warm tortilla. The soup was very good and not too salty. If you're in the area and in need of a quick bite stop by.

It's a breakfast/lunch stop that's close to the slopes. The location makes it ideal. The lattes are average. They have a huge menu with lots of options. I had a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg & cheese) in a spinach wrap. Lunch sandwich options seemed extensive, if not overwhelming. Eat inside or out.

This little hole in the wall cafe turns out the best coffee in Vail and the food is also creative yet simple prices are good and the staff are all smiles!

Vegetarian friendly. Omelet was very nicely prepared and wild mushrooms a tasty addition. Few tables outside, but a short stroll to creekside for picnic.

This spot is pretty great when you're looking for something yummy, but not fancy. Most of the restaurants in Vail Village are easily $30 a plate, but this bistro offers a cute and delicious alternative. My boyfriend had the phoenix sandwich and I had the Briggs. These gourmet sandwiches are HUGE and totally worth $9!!! They also have a great selection of beers and non-alcoholic beverages. Our food was brought to us quickly and was really so good. We ran into this place by accident while looking for some pizzaria, and man am I glad we did. All their ingredients were listed as organic which makes the price even more awesome, a vegan sandwich in Texas would easily run you $15. Definitely worth checking out and it's kid friendly!

they charged me more than the menu price. Terrible service. I ordered Chocolate and Latte, and they charged $9 total, however, it was 8.25. Not a big money but feeling not good.

This is a great place to go for lunch during the ski season. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and the sandwiches are killer. I think I've been here 4 or 5 times and have enjoyed everything I tried. The sandwiches are HUGE. Had the masterpiece yesterday and it was plenty to share. Great bread, meats, greens, and sauce/dressing. Everything came out quick when I know they had about ~10 orders in. It's a tiny place so you might need to elbow up to some other folks but hey, you can tell ski stories. Some of the other reviews are why I hate going to Vail... everyone is so self-entitled. Can we please fly some more Texans or Oklahomans in? The wait staff didn't kowtow to your insane demands during the off season when they ran out of something? Oh woe, is me - the rest of us were too busy eating.

After eating more delicious food in 24 hours in Vail than we usually eat in a week, we were in the mood for a small meal before we left town. The cashier at Blossom recommended Big Bear Bistro for a locally owned, low key delicious sandwich. We shared the BLAT(bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato). The bread was chewy but not hard, all of the ingredients were fresh and blended together into perfection! Seek it out !

This place was the only disappointment in our recent trip. When we arrived, we were one of 2 tables in the place. The staff was incredibly rude, and when we ordered a latte they informed us it would be at least 20 minutes. The way she said it wasn't so much to inform us, but to insist we order something else. We ordered regular coffee with our breakfast sandwiches. They were out of cream, and when I asked that they refill it when they got a moment, the girl at the cash register completely ignored me. When she finally refilled it, I poured it in my coffee to find it was curdled and a topped off with a dead bug. In. my. coffee. It was completely disgusting, the food was average and the staff abhorrent.

This is my favorite sandwich shop in Vail. The Pearson is the best! It's a lighter refreshing sandwich which reminds me of back home in California. These past reviews are saying staff hasn't been too friendly, I agree but I'm just trying to order a quick reasonably priced sandwich on bridge street and be on with my day. So I have no problem if staff isn't trying to butter me up!

I think Big Bear Bistro is excellent. It gives you that non-chain-establishment feeling with the handwritten menus on the walls, and welcomes you with affordable food. My friend and I both had a highly satisfying sandwich and a beer each for about $26. The lady who took our order was very sweet. When I'm in Vail, and I am not looking to be robbed blind to get some calories in for a mountain lunch, I'll be returning to Big Bear Bistro to try a new sandwich.

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Huge portions, fast and friendly service. Kid friendly. Nice little wine and beer selection. Unpretentious. 80's MUSIC! !! A real gem!

This place is great for lunch. Been a couple if times, can't get passed the phoenix sandwich, its got a bit if spice! Only downside is its generally really busy and is hard to get a seat. Probably says more about the place than my review. Oh, pretty cheap beers if you are after an apres

Mmmmmmmm just thinking of big bear makes me hungry. The sandwiches here are top notch; probably my favorite in the vail valley. I also love that they have return customer cards for locals which helps offset the slightly higher than average tourist prices. My only complaint, and the reason I'm not giving this business a 5 star rating is because it is NOT handicap, or stroller, accessible. I come in here with babies all the time and there are stairs inside the tiny cramped entrance making it almost impossible for an individual to hold the door and get a stroller inside. Once your inside, it is so small, that in order to place your order, with a stroller, you feel as though you are invading the personal boundaries of other customers trying to enjoy their lunch. I love this place but the size, and difficult entrance, are a serious issue for me.

Great sandwich shop with good soups. Sandwiches are very big, so good for splitting. Beer, wine and champagne too.

Yes, it's sweltering hot inside, but it's worth it! There aren't too many places right in Vail to grab something to go, so it was a welcome sight to see "Deli" posted. The sandwiches are great, good sized, and can certainly be healthy if you pick right. The sweet pesto spread on the turkey sandwich was a nice creation, and the fresh focaccia was just right. The service was quick, even on a busy weekend. The seating outside was adequate. My only picky complaint was that the pickle was warm. Either way, it's a delicious option for a sit-around or take-it-to-go lunch.

This place is found in the red lion square area of Vail village and is strictly "so-so". I got a breakfast burrito to go as I had a buddy saving spots for us in the gondola line (20 min before the start of an awesome pow day). The breakfast burrito had burnt egg, burnt tortilla and crushed bacon bits. Not an inspiring burrito. I wouldn't even classify it as guilty comfort food; what I'd normally call sub-par but greasy and satisfying burritos. The service was nice and they were decently quick. It's a toss up.
