I've had lunch at this restaurant roughly 100 times during the past few years! Since I like really spicy food, I usually order a Thai entree and I ask that it be made extra spicy. Invariably, my meal is as flavorful as the food in Thailand, but is much spicier! Since I've been to Thailand, I believe that I can objectively compare the food! In summary, the friendly staff at the United Chinese Restaurant will do their best to accommodate your taste buds!

Excellent food. Excellent service. Best Asian food I've had In a very long time. Look forward to next visit.

We haven't ate here in awhile, even though they are close to the house. We ordered takeout and the food was hot and fresh, but somewhat bland. I was just little disappointed in flavor. We will probably try them again.

Everything I ordered from here was pretty good except my main dish. The egg rolls were great and crab cheese won tons were pretty decent. What made both of those was their sweet and sour sauce to dip them in. The egg drop soup was good as well as the fried rice. The main dish I ordered was lemon chicken. The chicken was good, how can you really screw that part up though? It's breaded and fried chicken breast. But if you know lemon chicken like I do, you know that the sauce is everything! This place's lemon sauce was terrible!!! It had almost no flavor at all. If it wasn't for that I would definitely have given four stars.

This restaurant in a jewel in our area of Thornton! Normally, we order carry out and love it! However, when we have the time, we like to eat in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Portions are generous whether take out or eat in. The prices might be a bit higher than other local restaurants, but the quality is worth it! I l My favorites are the sesame chicken, almond chicken, and shrimp with vegetables. One our favorite sushi places too!

This is overall a very good restaurant. I have not had much sushi but after my girlfriend introduced it to me I have had it at multiple locations and this place would be at the in the top 5 without a doubt. I have had the sesame chicken which is generally my favorite dish and United Chinese did not let me down the chicken is cooked perfectly with a sauce that is sweet with just the right amount of spice. The pricing is reasonable considering it isn't hard to find a Chinese restaurant that over charges . The service is decent and the atmosphere is tasteful. The lighting which is a problem in many restaurants is nice, not too bright and not so dark you need a flashlight to see the food. The decorations add a traditional flare. This is a top Chinese restaurant in the Thornton area.

This place is close to our house, so we order delivery regularly. Food is tasty, favorite dishes are.. General Tsao's Chicken, Curry Chicken, Hunan Beef, Mapo Tofu, and Peking Spaghetti. Service is excellent, have like everything I tried. Oh... except the wonton soup.. the broth taste very watery, eggdrop and hot and sour soup are good.

Ordered takeout from here for dinner tonight. Ordered around 4:30pm and was quoted a 45-55 min wait time. Food arrived just a little ahead of schedule. Yay! Ordered Sesame chicken, orange chicken, and vegetable Lo mein. (All for $33) The sesame chicken was delicious and tender. I would definitely order this again. The veggie Lo mein was also delicious. Nice soft, flavorful noodles. The orange chicken I was not very impressed with. The sauce on it was heavy on soy sauce and just wasn't my thing. Overall I will order from this place again!

Great food and service. A little more than the typical Chinese restaurant, but lots of food for the money. Always cooked to perfection. Whether delivery or dining in, definitely a place to check out.

Yuck! So disappointed... lunch combo was nasty to say the least. From egg roll to soup it was an epic fail. Also ordered the fun chow, portion was really small for $9.50 Will never go back.

We took family from out of town, 11 of us in total. Service was great for a big group and the food was excellent. I love curry. The massaman curry was excellent. The black bean chicken was amazing as well. They were so cute too. They made to order a dish for my foodie 8 year old daughter. We will be going back.

Been here twice now! Great, fresh sushi. Excellent Chinese food. Prices are pretty good, and the service is nice too. I did have trouble understanding the accent of one of the waiters last time, but it's a Chinese restaurant...that's to be expected

Hot Sour Soup: Decent, not great, not awful Combo Fried Rice: Pretty skimpy on the beef and shrimp; too much chicken Combo Phad Thai: Not enough spice for my taste, pretty bland Kids Chicken on a Stick: Chicken skewers basted with some kind of peanut sauce. Pretty yummy, maybe I should have ordered off the kids menu? Service was pretty good - that's the only reason they got 2 stars :(

Really great Chinese food. The restaurant is surprising when you walk in. You wouldn't expect it to look so nice judging from the outside. It is very clean and I have never been disappointed with the food or service.

I usually get delivery from United and it has been good in the past. The last two times I've ordered was disappointing. I ordered Kung pau chicken, a Philly roll and crab cheese wantons. They forgot my wontons. I called them and they offered me credit or someone could deliver them within a half hour. I chose that. When he finally arrived they forgot the sweet and sour. Last night I ordered a Cali and a Philly roll and wantons. The man who took my order called me back and said they were closing and asked how much tip I wanted to add to my card, I tipped $3 bucks and I know that not great but I didn't want to tip him more in case my order was missing anything. The delivery guy was not friendly at all and the rice on my sushi was hard. I'm not giving them anymore of my business!

I tried the Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon maki roll lunch special on Friday for the first time. I got it to go. It comes with your choice of miso soup or salad - I chose miso soup but they forgot to give it to me. When I called to let them know, they offered for me to come back and get it (no thanks, it was 0 degrees out that day) or I can have a credit plus an egg roll for the mistake. I chose the latter. Sushi wise, it wasn't my favorite. Perhaps the nigiri or specialty rolls might be better. I wouldn't recommend the sushi - just stick to the regular menu.

I am so pleased to find a Chinese Restaurant that can do just about anything gluten free. I have had 9 dishes there and not gotten sick once. To me that is a minor miracle. Plus they have tons of different dishes and I can order just about all of them. It is such a change from the limited menu at P.F. Changs. I couldn't be more pleased.

I've eaten here a lot, at least 50 times. What it is, friendly, clean and usually not so crowded you wait. Great for Fri/Sat when you don't want the hassle of waiting 50 minutes to eat at some mediocre chain place the LCD thinks is fine dining. What it isn't, consistent, great food and the funky Asian muzak they play makes me want to kill myself within 15 minutes. Which is odd considering the fare here is pretty much Americanized Asian Fusion. They had a great sushi chef but he's gone so last few times the sushi was meh. That's really the only reason I go there. I do like their duck offerings.

It's Chinese/Japanese food at a typical Colorado establishment. I have yet to find a place in Colorado serving 4 or 5 star asian food. Price=1 star Food=2 star Service=4 star

29 Yelp reviews so far for a place that's been open a relatively short time. I hope the management is reading these cause you can tell we're waiting, we're wanting, we're wondering if we'll ever have good Asian in Thornton again. We've been to this United a few times before and always ate dine in. Food was decent as was the service and the decor - well, it's pleasant. Broke down and got take-out sesame chicken and sesame beef last night. A mighty hot waiter took my order but I digress. I agree with Tricia H and Tom D. When they're good, they're very, very good. Chicken was ok and this from a real sesame chicken snob; beef was tough. Too bad. Could have been a good left over. Fried rice and egg rolls were terrific but the entrees are the main shtick. Wanted to bring back the beef but never trust what comes back after that - anywhere. Lesson learned, taste the take out in the car BEFORE you leave the restaurant parking lot.

There is something just so magical about having sushi delivered to your home, especially when the sushi itself isn't too expensive and is actually GOOD! Anything that supports my love of having people bring me delicious little bits of raw fish and wasabi is high up on my list. The mango roll is amazing too, try it!

THE CHICKEN PANANG IS AMAZING!!! A mixture of slightly spicy and slightly sweet. Food is not too salty like most Chinese restaurants. They make fresh sushi there as well. Hot tea is served free with your meal. Always great service. I dined there last week with company from out of town. She went home to Portland and has eaten at several different restaurants trying to find Chicken Panang that even remotely compares to UCR. Nope, this place is the BEST!!!

I really love this place. Being partly Chinese, I am very, very picky about my Chinese food. I hate Heaven Dragon, Scoop places, Panda-anything, etc. The lady who owns the restaurants is from Taiwan (where my Grandma is from) and even my Grandma approves. While not all of it is authentic, it is tasty. I prefer the Combination Lo Mein, because the meat isn't fried. I don't like fried chinese meat. Other restaurants say they serve Lo Mein, and it's actually Chow Mein, which I don't like. The rice is pretty good as is the lemon chicken. At dinner time you eat family style. Lunch is a different story. HUGE portions for seven or eight dollars! I got chicken lo mein which came with two scoops of rice, soup, wontons and a spring roll. The spring rolls are the one thing I hate. I've never had a good one that isn't my Grandma's recipe. Too much cabbage, not enough flavor. I've never tried the sushi. Can't bring myself to order sushi in a Chinese restaurant. This place is really good though, especially in comparison to what other places offer. Try it, you'll probably like it.

Disappointed with last 2 deliveries, and won't be eating there again. The first delivery was missing some of our food, and we were overcharged $12. We called and were told that they would take care of it on our next order. For our next order, we mentioned our previous trouble, they took our order, and then said they would call with our adjusted total. Our delivery showed up, and the total was full price. We called while the delivery person was at our house and they said they wouldn't adjust our bill. Very disappointing, as we've eaten at both locations quite often. Never again.

A great lunch special! You can get nearly any entree on the menu, soup, rice, wonton, and egg roll for $6-7 plus you can add sushi for $1/piece. The service is always good and food even better. All their entrees are made from scratch and you can often see the staff preparing fresh vegetables in the back of the restaurant. I suggest the pork lo mein, orange chicken, almond chicken, mongolian beef, or sesame beef. The hot and sour soup is excellent as well.

My husband and I took a long time to decide to try this place. I wish we hadn't. We tried the California roll, the spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and spicy salmon rolls. King Soopers has a better quality product. We also tried the beef with broccoli and the Mongolian beef and the only reason this has two stars is because my husband thought the Mongolian beef was good. There are so many better restaurants for Chinese food in Thornton we will never eat here again.

It really bugs me when Asian restaurants call themselves "Chinese" or "Vietnamese" etc... but they serve Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, etc.... but I guess most people who aren't Asian don't know the difference anyways and this place seems to be a lot more hopping once they added a sushi bar. Not that I'm an expert at Asian cusine, but I know for a fact that this is not the kind of Chinese food you would get in China, but more of an Americanized version. Authentic or not, I still enjoy my sesame chicken, fried crab cream cheese wonton, and greasy lo mein here and there. I've done dine in and takeout Chinese from this place several times (because work is close and they love "Chinese" food). This place seems to be hit or miss with the dishes, but overall I've suffered more misses than hits, so I always avoid here if I can. They're not really awful, but there are other places in the area I'd rather order from if given a choice so I can try other things than just their sesame chicken or chicken with veggies. I have been craving sushi for awhile and unfortunately could not leave the house to dine out or pickup and this was the only place in the area that would deliver. I reluctantly gave in and placed an order. I got the spicy tuna roll, oshiko roll, naruto roll, dragon roll & a couple nigiri. When it was delivered, everything was nicely packaged and made. I have to say that I was very impressed with the flavor & quality of the sushi for a Chinese restaurant. So, apparently they've got something right and ironically it's the Japanese part of their business... so I have to give them 4 stars just because I know after this last experience I will be patronizing their sushi bar again. 2 stars for their Chinese food though.

Me, my husand, and our daughter just ate dinner here for the first time yesterday and we were happy customers! The food and service were great. The atmosphere is very clean and nice. We'll definitely return. I've searched so long for a similiar entree that I had in Portland, OR which is the Pepper Salted Shrimp dish WITHOUT the skin ( the shrimps are battered in flour and fried deliciously crispy with salt, black pepper, jalapenos and who knows what else), and they had something similiar! Although their dish didn't include jalapenos, the shrimps tasted good. Not many chinese restaurants provide this dish without the skin. And I already forgot what they called this dish - Sorry! We had their dinner special, which included soup, appetizer, rice, and a main entree per person for about $14 each. The kids menu had about 5-6 choices of the usual chinese dishes like sweet & sour chicken, veggie lo-mien for $5 with rice or fries. They also offer a variety of happy hour drinks and sushi. Yes, sushi! The full name of the restaurant is actually United Chinese Restaurant N Sushi! I joked with my husband about the "N." LOL I also saw some Thai and Vietnamese dishes on the menu. Might try them next time.

Excellent Chinese food! We order from here every so often when we have friends over during one of our game nights. In my opinion the delivery is fast, food is fair priced, and it is truly yummy Chinese food. I have been extremely happy with every order from here! Fantastic!

I live across the street from the United Chinese Restaurant in Thornton, so I have eaten there about once a month for the past several years. Sometimes, it's the best Chinese food I've ever had, and at other times, it's just not good. By the best, I mean cooked to perfection, tasty, seasoned appropriately, etc etc. But not good I mean tasteless, or some spoiled vegetables in the food. In addition, the spice levels vary greatly day to day. The worst was having spoiled fried rice once. I don't honestly know how a restaurant can be so inconsistent. The alcoholic beverages come in interesting containers, for example my pina colada was in a coconut shell like glass. Service, like others have mentioned, is just satisfactory. I give this restaurant 4 stars because most of the time the food is great.

A benchmark for average. Perhaps I have a high standard for Chinese Restaurants, I think that comes from being Chinese. The highlights of this place are it's nice decor. I'll admit that the bathrooms are super clean and the place looks spotless. The menu tries to offer a little of everything. Thai food, Japanese sushi, Mexican beer, BBQ baby back ribs and yes! even some Chinese food. Personally, I don't find that a good sign. The fact that my family is the only Asian people in a Asian restaurant is a bad sign too. Lastly, the restaurant is used to catering to an American only crowd because they don't even offer a table full of Asians the option to use chopsticks. If this were a authentic Chinese restaurant anywhere else it's likely you need to request a fork. So how was the food? Eh... the experience in a restaurant is more than the food. We ordered Peking Duck, Stir Fry Noodles and a Garlic String Bean dish. It was ok. The service was ok. The price was ok. The decor was ok. The crowd was ok. So the rating is an uninspiring... ok. To some up the whole experience it felt like eating in a little Chinese take-out restaurant that happens to have a nice lobby. I would definitely go back if I ever have an incredible craving for ok food. I don't really wake up in the morning with a burning desire for ok food though. ******* Added: ****** Ok, It's funny we returned here more than six weeks after our first visit... and the waitress STILL REMEMBERED us and where we sat last time (roflzomgwtfbbqsauce)! Ok, I admit it was very flattering and a little Twilight Zoney. Wow, either she's got one HELL of a memory or an Asian person walking into this restaurant is REALLY REALLY unusual!!! Food's still OK.

I have eaten at United twice now. I am a sushi newbie, so I am by no means and expert, but it is good! My family had orange beef and sesame chicken. The liked the beef but the sesame chicken was a little fatty. The fried rice is really good and that, for me, determines how much I like a Chinese restaurant. Overall, it is good food for a good price with a nice atmosphere. I also got a delivery and it was fast, the food was hot, and the delivery guy was really nice.

ugh, I'm so torn on my review of this place. But I just had to make people aware. This is not just a Chinese place, but also Japanese. We've been several times up until yesterday, when I don't think we'll be going for a very long time, if ever again. Their service is spotty. Sometimes you are greeted with a very hospitable hostess, other times, a very grouchy and annoyed host. We were there when they were setting up for the New Years celebration. Even though it was an off-time lunch, they seemed much more concerned in where tables and chairs should be placed rather than serving us lunch. One woman virtually screamed orders at a few other men. It was not the best lunch atmostphere. The Chinese food is pretty much what you usually get in Denver --- overly sauced, overly salted and deep fried. The Japanese food however, is delicious and fresh tasting. Or so we thought. I've had sushi, sashimi and plenty of rolls. Their "Planet" and "Ocean" rolls were some of the best I've ever had in Colorado. Yesterday, I had their Bento box with Chicken Katsu. The chicken was overcooked and very dry. It looked like the so-called chicken breast you get from a McDonald's sandwich. The miso and California rolls were good. Dumplings were provided with the box, also good. I ate one small bite of my husband's salmon sashimi, it tasted just ok. Just an hour or so later, my husband got really ill. It was the kind of illness you get from bad seafood, to the point of hallucinations. He didn't even have dinner. This morning he still has a very bad headache and stomach. So, I'd like to give them 4 stars but the illness just did it for me. One must be very careful with raw fish. And for my husband to get sick makes me wanting to eat at United a risk I just can't take.

Late night at the office for the two of us and we needed some food on the way home. We thought "Chinese" and found this place near our house. Upon walking in, we met Melissa who was INCREDIBLY nice to us and even threw in some free scallion pancakes (they were like delicious Chinese quesadillas). The food speaks for itself; very fresh tasting, very balanced flavor, very, very good. I would highly recommend going in there and getting some food. We will DEFINITELY eat there again.

My boy-friend and I came here for dinner and ordered a Family combination from the menu. We ordered the sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, hot and sour soup and a combo appetizer plate. The hot and sour soup needed more starch, and less soy sauce. The consistency was more runny. The appetizers were well done. The cream cheese wontons and beef skewers were yummy! Our entrees were filling and we had left overs to take home. The food was well prepared and fresh. The owner and waitress were very kind and friendly. If you are in the Thornton area, I would recommend trying this place. The restaurant and service are great overall.

Sushi is offered at this restaurant, so you really get two tastes in one location--pretty nice if you have a household that wants different items. Good side is the food is consistent, but only average. It won't knock your socks off, but I haven't had a bad order yet, and I order at least 1-2/month. Everything is average, but sometimes that's good enough. Especially for a place that delivers sushi--where are you going to find that?

This review is for the Thornton location only. They also have a Broomfield location. Great Food, Great Service, and Good Ambience. This review is based on two lunch visits, as I am working in the area. Their lunch specials are a great value, like Kung Pao Chicken for $6.75. A large portion with a LOT of Chicken. Ingredients correctly cubed, with almost no Green Pepper (which does not belong in Kung Pao). Scallops with Garlic Sauce for $7.50 with a lot of Scallops, something hard to find in the current economic condition at most Chinese restaurants. And the lunch includes Soup, Cheese Wonton, Egg Roll and Rice. Disappointingly, the Fried Rice is the type where most of the dark color comes from Soy Sauce rather than the frying in oil. All food was very tasty. Also interesting is that they have Sushi and a Sushi Bar and a Sushi Happy Hour 11:00AM to 4:00PM so you can have Sushi Happy Hour at lunch! A great value at $1.00 a piece for some of their sushi (like Yellow Tail). While the fish portion was on the small side, it was only $1.00 !!! And it was fabulous fish. The Scallop was the whole piece Nigiri style which I prefer over the small pieces mixed with mayonnaise served Gunkan style. Disappointingly the Scallop is not on Happy Hour pricing. Some of the better Hot and Sour Soup in Denver. Actually contained the correct ingredients, rather than just flavored Egg Drop Soup to meeting a price point. Super fast and courteous service and they enthusiastically greet you both coming and going. And the Manager is involved with the customers, always a good thing. Both times, my food came out so hot I had to wait to eat it comfortably. Direct from the wok to me, no setting around Ambience is Chinese and Modern, a pleasant environment. If you are in this part of town and want Sushi or Chinese, check this place out. I wish it was close to my home rather than the other side of town. (( * Avoid ** Better available *** Good if in area **** Great! ***** Life Experience - Seek it out!! ))

Really pretty good Chinese food. We got the Combo A for 2. For the appetizer: the ribs and beef sticks are delicious and the wings, egg rolls, and wontons are very good. I had wonton soup and the broth was super good. For the main course, we had the sweet and sour combo and the lo mein combo. The sweet and sour was ok, but the lo mein was probably the best I've ever had. We had a friendly server and the atmosphere is relaxed and well decorated.

NEVER AGAIN~! This place is horrible, totally convinced they are trying every avenue to save a dollar but make a million all in a days work, the food is clearly left over from the days before, and I would not be surprised if the food you decide not to eat and is taken after you leave is NOT thrown out, but rather recycled into a new dinner plate for the next customer. This place has given Chinese food a bad wrap to say the least, and now when someone mentions let's have chinese food I cringe. ~~

I would describe United as hit or miss. When you order something good, it is very very good, but when you order something bad, it is close to inedible. One of the most attractive things about United is the atmosphere. The front of the restaurant has a koi pond and a very nice sushi bar. The sushi itself is also very good. It's the rest of the menu that I have had issues with. My favorites on the menu include Moo Goo Gai Pan and Lemon Chicken. Some of the failed dishes I have had include Shrimp Egg Foo Young (MUCH too salty) and Peking-style Spaghetti (Ground pork that appears to be boiled relentlessly in hoisin sauce ans served over over-cooked rice noodles...also much too salty). On a recent visit a friend got the Honey Walnut Chicken, which looked great- until we realized the "special sauce" covering the chicken was none other than plain old Miracle Whip....gross. In any case, find something you like here and stick to it, or stick with the sushi.

United Chinese is a very average place. I usually go there because my roommate likes it better than Heaven Dragon and there is never a wait to be seated. I think the food is comparable, with HD having a slight edge. The service at HD is better, but neither place will be getting a five star in that department. I've not tried the sushi. I like the kung pao chicken. Not a bad spot if you're in the neighborhood, but definitely not a destination.

This review is for the Thornton location. We've only eaten in a couple of times, but we've ordered delivery probably fifteen times at least. United Chinese specializes in being inconsistent. My husband thinks the Thai Basil Chicken is outstanding, and the appetizer platter is generally very good, although the egg rolls can be skimpy sometimes. The spare ribs are very good. We've gotten inedible dishes so many times that last night will be the last time we order from United Chinese. The shacha beef was disgusting - heat but no flavor. The wonton soup lacked flavor in both the broth and the wontons themselves. The wonton soup has been good at other times in the past. When we ordered a week ago, the soft-shell crab order had five small leg pieces for $8.25, served on a giant bed of lettuce, providing overall an unappetizing and colorless dish. The batter was both salty and undercooked. The shrimp curry alternates between being delicious and having no flavor at all - the last time I ordered it, there was no curry flavor, just shrimp and veggies in a bowl of greasy water. I just can't bring myself to shell out $50 for takeout when there's a chance that half the meal won't be edible, and takeout means no sending the food back. Last night was the last night.

I had the hunan chicken and my partner had the jalapeno chicken. The food was quick and quite tasty! Very very clean, the light fixtures, the restrooms, even the blinds, no dust anywhere!! They even gave us a Chinese calendar. Will surely go back again.

Dropping off a job app nearby and driving home, I was looking for someplace unusual I could get takeout from. When I saw the glowing letters of "United Chinese Restaurant", I was like "United *wha*?! Ok, this needs to be checked out." And so it went. The "Chinese" portion of their title is somewhat misleading, as they also serve Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese dishes here as well. There were far too many tasty things on the menu, and after agonizing whether I was going for roast duck, sushi entrees or thai basil chicken, I finally opted for the P(h)ad Thai. I wanted to see if a place that had "Chinese" in their name could pull off a properly prepared and spiced Thai dish. I had no complaints; the dish came back spiced just on the hot side of medium, the pork was cooked to tenderness, and it had all the ingredients I'd expect in Pad Thai, noodles, egg, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts....it was tasty. I also ordered an 8 piece eel & avocado roll which was nothing outstanding, but certainly edible and tasty. Additionally, ordered 2 spring rolls which were *just* ok - 2 shrimp, lettuce and rice noodles wrapped in a translucent rice paper(?) wrapping and served with sweet thick brown goo. Yep, goo. Seemed like hoisin sauce, but there may have been something else inside... They have a good variety of selection on the menu, from appetizers to soup/salad to entrees, sushi, and even dessert. Their lunch menu is all $8 and under, and they have Japanese bento boxes as well, which I think is very cool, and 65 different sushi choices. It tries to be a lot of things, it seems, and at least for my 1 trip, seems like United Chinese succeeded...

My date ate 3 kinds of Sushi and a spicy Sushi roll and immediately got food poisoning within 10 mins. of leaving the restaurant. We had arrived around 8 pm, and the waiter tried to rush us to order, rush us to pay the bill and get us out of the restaurant around 9 pm even though they close at 9:30. I attempted to contact the owner by phone the next morning, and Ken, the manager refused to refund the nearly $100 my date had spent on dinner. I returned in person the next day and informed the staff including the sushi chef they had served bad fish and made my boyfriend very sick. The manager, Ken, did not seem to care and still refused to return our money. I told him I wanted a call from the owner and would be contacting the Department of Health, Yelp, Channel 9, and social media in an attempt to keep others from getting as sick as we did.

A family run place that always makes you feel welcome! The food is great and the service is above and beyond. Ive attended large private party events, Chinese New Year and just Friday nights when I don't want to cook. One of my favorite spots - both comfortable and tasty.

Ordered from here a few times from work with mixed results. Ordered Sushi yesterday (spicy tuna rolls) and within 10 minutes had symptoms of scombroid toxicity. Called them to warn them their tuna is bad and was told I'd get a discount next time and then was hung up on without ever asking my name. Beware!

By far this is the worst Chinese food restaurant I've ever eaten at in my entire 40 years on this planet. Seriously I'm not trying to be a drama queen...it's horrible! I went the first time to this hole about 5 years ago. I had a mediocre chicken dish and vowed not to come back. Well, under duress (by my Mother), I went back again 2 weeks ago with a friend and my Mom. What a mistake. The Wanton soup was a dishwater like broth with two tasteless wantons, no veggies, no pork, NOTHING. My friends hot and sour soup was equally bad. My Mom had a huge bowl of egg drop soup which she thought was the best thing on the planet. I thought it looked pretty nasty. I ordered sesame chicken. Typically this is what I order at any new Chinese place I go to. The chicken was over fried..some pieces were just crispy dough. The chicken was all dark meat, nary a piece of good quality chicken on the plate. The worst part of all was the sauce. It was just a brown sauce with some sugar added to it. The worst crap I've ever tasted. Again, to save money, not a single piece of greenery on the plate. No broccoli, no onions, no nothing...just over fried disgustingness. Is that even a word? Regardless, it was terrible. My friend had Sweet and Sour Chicken. How in the world do you ruin Sweet and Sour Chicken? This place does...again with overcooked tempura chicken and a sauce that borderlined more sour than sweet. Atleast that plate had some vegetables on it. I beg of you, do not go to this restaurant. I have no idea how it has stayed open all these years. It's mind boggling. It was bad 5 years ago and it still is horrible in its current time. A new Thai Basil has opened up on 120th near Target. I think I will be going there from now on!

I eat Sushi at United Chinese once a month and find it to be very good and consistent . They have 1/2 off on Sushi for lunch which makes it more resonablely priced for good suchi. I have only eaten the Chinese food at United a half a dozen times. I thought it was very good and consistent at a reasonable price..

I think they gave me yesterdays sesame chicken. All else was good but the sesame chicken seemed hard and dry. I should have asked to return that part of our dinner but didn't. Due to the one $10.00 menu item, I most likely won't return any time soon. For every previous visit I would give 4 stars.

Beware!

The hot and sour soup is excellent as well.

ugh, I'm so torn on my review of this place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
