Healthy Meal suggestions for Texas Roadhouse

Howdy, kids, Raoul w/ one his ever more infrequent Yelps. I guess I cooled off on this site when I found out that Yelp is a member of the evil, ultra-right-wing American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC, sponsors of draft legislation that brought you great stuff like Stand Your Ground, and voter suppression laws across this great land of ours....... BUT I DIGRESS. Not here to talk about that. Actually had a very nice meal at Texas Roadhouse a few weeks ago. My wife got a bonus from her job, (BONUS?!?!?!? What's that?), so we decided to splurge a little bit after blowing most of it on getting our cars fixed. Thought about sushi, Italian, etc., then remembered that these guys HAVE GREAT MEAT. Had the ribeye with some fried shrimp, the perfect meal, and it was excellent! Juicy, almost fork-tender steak, crispy, fat shrimp, all the trimmins'. MMMMMMM. Sat in the bar even though there wasn't a wait, service was low-key and friendly, everything came out promptly and piping hot. I guess I had to Yelp these guys because it was such a pleasure to get a decent meal with good service, without feeling ripped-off by the prices. If you live in Brighton, you know why this is such a rarity, and why you have to drive to another town to get it.

I really like the food at the Texas Roadhouse and I like this one quite a bit, we've never really had to wait long and we always get good food. We've always had nice servers and they don't seem to stuff us in some corner because we have a baby. I always get the same thing. Sirloin butterfly cut with a loaded baked potato and salad. I LOVE that there are eggs on the salad. I also really love their rolls and hmmm I'm hungry. I don't dig the overly loud country music though

Great food, and still only 3 stars? WTF!!! let me tell you why Texas Roadhouse has pretty amazing food. I'm not a fan of veggies but OMG, there green beans and mashed potatoes are a slice of heaven in your mouth. They have GREAT selection of meat and its always cooked to perfection. So why the 3 stars you ask? -1 star for the wait to be seated. -1 star for the services. I am a fat kid so I love my food and if I go out to eat I expect to be seated within 5 minutes, not 30 minutes. I also want my food and beer to be replaced or filled within 2-4 minutes, specially if I'm there with my friends before the football game.

As much as I would loved to have given this place 5 stars, I just couldn't.... Why, you might ask well... The waiter we had seem to have a worse hearing problem than me. I asked the score of the game (my Hubby, dragged me out during a Rockies Game) and first the waiter asked what the Bronco game? Really!!!! When I said the Rockies Game he gave me a look like I lost my mind. When he took our order my daughter asked for her steak to be rare, now my daughter is 13 so when I said no, I want hers to be medium he actually had to nerve to say but she wants it rare. Let me give you a lesson, DON"T QUESTION THE MOTHER!!!!!! Then we had to tell him 4 times my daughter wants an adult meal not a child's meal... He really just seemed more consumed by another table to properly help us... We had to ask for straws from a different waiter, and more napkins from who I think was the manager. Now the food however was great!!!!!!!!!! I am not much of an eater but I did manage to eat a whole slab, plus the sides and about three rolls. My three stars only go for the food, not the service. I don't care about atmosphere (I was focused on the TV with the Baseball game) Oh and one more plus: my son is Autistic, keeping him engaged into our world is always a chore. However while I was watching the game he was watching some racing and when that was over some bike styling competition... I was very impressed with that selection, plus my son really enjoyed the things on the walls....

Yes I love Texas Roadhouse...from the peanuts on the table to the yummy rolls with honey butter, to the cold beer and the steaks....Yummmm. I was always a fan of Outback Steakhouse, and don't get me wrong, I still like Outback, but Texas Roadhouse is really good too! I have been several times this last year, and for me, the best place to sit is the bar. You have friendly staff and it's usually easier to get into the bar than wait in the horrendous line for a table (dangit now everyone is going to sit in the bar area..) Anyway, I typically get the filet with the blue cheese crumbles and a sweet potato. I have also had the T-bone and the ribeye, and they too were delicious. Kids portions are huge and the salads before are very good too. The ONLY thing that my sweetie didn't care for was the rice, but that's not something I typically would order, so get the potatoes is my advice! :)

I can never complain when we come to Texas Roadhouse. Well I can complain that they offer me a ton of those rolls with that heavenly butter, and that they make me order fried pickles, and get full way before my steak arrives, which is usually so delicious that I have to force it all down, potato and all and then feel like an over stuffed goose for the next couple of hours. I guess that's not really complaining. That's just having too much to eat. And not being able to control myself. If I can offer tips I'd say to use the call ahead service so you don't wait forever. Because this joint is always packed.

Seems like this place gets worse every time we come. Waited forever for our meals tonight and they finally came out to say the kitchen screwed up on my husbands steak. One end of my filet mignon is burnt and my baked potato is totally dried out. Gross. Service was terrible. Not sure what happened to our waiter but he disappeared and only came back just before we left to ask if everything was ok. No, it wasn't. The waitress who replaced him served my drink from the opposite side of the table at my husbands side and smashed her chest into his face. Not sure if that was supposed to be dessert or what but I was so done after such a horrible experience that I got up and left with our daughter and left my husband to sort the check. Not sure if they charged us for the original steak he ordered which was $2 more than the one they served him or not and too mad to even ask. Last time we'll go here. It's just not worth the frustration.

I come to this place quite often. I've had excellent service every single time but one. The one time I did have a bad experience had nothing to do with the service, just the food. I got a rib-eye, supposed to be cooked medium-rare. The temperature was right, but the meat was messed up. It tasted awful, like it was heated up in the microwave. It had a metallic shimmer to it. It was definitely off. This was VERY quickly remedied, however - which is why I cannot give this restaurant a bad comment. I am only giving it 4 stars because we all know that there are some pretty fancy steakhouses out there that 5 stars are reserved for. :) Overall -- the food is great. The meat is always tender and juicy, with LOTS of flavor. I always get the sirloin and ribs. A sirloin is a cheap cut of meat, but their cut is always so tender and juicy that I hardly ever need to stray off to the better cuts. The ribs really do fall off the bone too. I love the sweet tea - and the rattle snake bites make a good starter. I always have to ask for the bloomin onion sauce though because they stopped giving it as default with the bites and instead do ranch. I definitely recommend the BO sauce. The horseradish flavor gives a nice kick with the jalepeno. Needless to say -- the servers are ALWAYS super stars.

Been going here for years and it seems this place is starting to lose its steam. Went 3 months ago for my birthday and I received the driest prime rib ever. A cactus couldn't even live off of the juices in this thing. Went again tonight for my wife's birthday. The food was average which means overpriced for average but the service was horrible. How about hiring someone over 22 that isn't wearing the tightest skinny jeans she could find? Not sure if we will be back anytime soon, especially with a new steak place opening on 120th and I-25.

  • Mandy E.

Nothing spectacular but it's good solid food. You would think they were giving it away for free by how busy they always are. I really used to like the prime rib..it's no longer my favorite but we come here if nothing else sounds good.

Felt like we were being rushed from the moment we got there. The only smile we got from the waitress was when we were dealing with the check. I can't deny the food was good but I felt like I was a dollar sign or part of their bottom line instead of a customer. If those rolls werent so delicious and I didn't have an obsession with peanuts I would give a lower rating.

This is probably my favorite chain type steak house in Colorado. With my wife, brother and sister all working there through high school we know how they run the kitchen and keep their food. Now that I'm 30ish I still return frequently with my family, the food is alway of great quality, the atmosphere is up beat and fun and they make some killer cocktails. Anytime I have had any issues big or small the management has resolved the issues way beyond my expectations.

For the money this is the best bang for your buck. Always good service and the steaks are always cooked consistently. I've come in here in a really bad mood and was won over by how the staff treated me. Sitting in Willie Nelson's corner is always a fun time. Cold beer, cute waitresses and a clean atmosphere.

Dinner 3-9-14. Great staff, manager came over and introduced herself. Great waitress. Warm rolls yummy. Steak great and had enough BBQ chicken and veggies to take home for dinner next night. Wait to be seated can be long so plan ahead.

We eat steak VERY infrequently, so infrequently that I can't remember the last time, probably our anniversary 2 years ago. So, for early Mothers Day, I said, "let's get steak" and the search began. We decided on Texas Roadhouse, and we called ahead to beat the Saturday night crowd. We arrived at 6:15 to find the place packed, but calling ahead left us with just a 10 minute wait. We were wedged in a corner booth just under Willie Nelson, but what can you do? The restaurant was extremely crowded and chaotic. Service is great, and the food came out much quicker than we expected, especially since I ordered a 23 ounce porterhouse. The bread that we were given to tide us over was fresh, hot and soft, although it was accompanied by overly sweet cinnamon butter. The sides are nothing special, butter soaked corn, steak fries, tasteless broccoli and carrots, but the steaks are excellent and a great value. My porterhouse was a bit underdone (I ordered it medium and the center was red, not pink) but very flavorful and a bargain at $24. As my wife said, you can't get twice the steak for twice the price. I ended up bringing half my steak home, and I had it for lunch and dinner the next day. My daughter is still young, so she shared my meal, and my wife had her steak well done. The meal came to $61 with a 20% tip, a lot better than our last steak dinner if I recall correctly. I think that was over $150 at Ruths Chris in the metro DC area. We'll be back, but probably not for a few years.

love the food and the staff is always there to serve and everyone says good bye when you leave. great experience. Can't wait to go back. Now I get why this place packs em in.

We went here for a Sunday late lunch last weekend. We were seated immediately and our waitress took our order right away. My girlfriend had the 6 oz sirloin steak that was delicious with the sauteed onions and mushrooms (very yummy) which was perfectly cooked medium rare with a side of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. The potatoes were okay and the veggies were somewhat overcooked. I had the short rack of ribs, Caesar salad and steak fries. The sauce/mop used on the ribs was excellent, but the ribs were dry on either end of the rack such as what happens when they sit too long in heat before being served. The salad dressing was great but the salad only needed about half of the amount used. Fries were good but not great. Overall a good place if you like steak (duh!).

felt like updating this review. we went the other night and the service was incredible! The food as always was good-we got what we wanted and had a lot of fun. It was down to earthy, noisy and busy-a casual place with better than average food and great service. i am never disappointed. So the snobs that don't like noise, don't like kids, don't like country music, and think steak should be served in some uppity place should go elsewhere and pay for the illusion that they can do so much better!!!! We come to eat, have fun, and laugh and-as I said, the service is great!!

Average food but fast friendly service. They do get a bonus for having peanuts in the shell.

This used to be "the usual" for my family on a Friday night. (Or at least, if my parents wanted a steak.) The steaks a few years ago were high quality and to die for. I always ended up getting a chicken sandwich or mac n cheese. This time I decided to get the 6 oz sirloin. I asked for medium and the edges of the steak were perfect. The rest of it was medium rare. That could be overlooked if the quality of the steak was good. It ended up having a tough, gritty taste that I've never had before while eating steak. I only ate half my steak. I shouldn't have ordered it when I saw that the steaks in the window were turning brown. My salad was pretty crappy. I ordered a ceaser side salad. I think the dressing must have been warm because my salad was wilting when it came out. We also had a coupon for a "Baby Blossom". It wasn't comparable to the Awesome Blossom at Outback Steakhouse. Outback does it way better. However, the mashed potatoes are perfect. I love skin-on mashed potatoes. The brown gravy was excellent. The rolls are also really good. For some reason they brought us out four baskets worth for four people. A little excessive. My Dad ordered the ribs, which were amazing. I would go back for those. The waitress wasn't very attentive but she was nice enough. Definitely not memorable, though. Overall, they are just ok. It's sad considering a couple of years ago I would have given them four or five stars.

Always a solid bet! Very casual atmosphere, great staff, great service and food. Best ribs in Colorado. Family friendly. My usual order consists of -Dallas filet MR with loaded mashed potatoes, the Cesar salad and I always get a side-kick of ribs. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Call ahead seating is recommended during peak hours.

Things have improved since my negative experiences. I will say that the management team did offer me a comp dinner, but we opted not to accept. We decided we weren't interested in free, just wanted it to be better. Things did improve on our next visit...I hope they stay better!

How have I not come here before?!?! The customer service is outstanding! Green beans, corn, and mashed potatoes are the bomb!! Fresh bread brought to table with apple butter to die for! Margaritas are soooo good!

  • BigMikeEatsDenver ..

I go for the peanuts and rolls!!! This is your typical run of the mill steak house meant for those families that do not take the time to find a better meal at a better price.Between the constant Happy Birthday songs and yes even that creepy balloon guy the food is good but just not worth the headache of an overly crowded dining room and the usual "here is your check but no hurry" line you realize that you just paid way to much for that "experience".. The three stars is for the food but the "experience" isn't worth it..

Better than ok due to GREAT and personable service from our waitress Michelle...but just above a meh for the food itself. First the food...the hot rolls hit the spot to begin...the Chicken critters, however, were a miss. Overdone with way too much batter they looked big, but after getting to the actual chicken, which was overcooked and dry, they were a disappointment. My side of chili was served warm, not hot. My NY Strip was right on par for price and cooked exactly to my specifications...which you see less and less these days...so a tip of the cap to the grill guy. As I said earlier, Michelle made the night for us. Funny, on point for service and personable...chatting with us beyond the normal server cliches, she added value to our visit.....in conclusion Tuesday is 3.00 margarita night...i'm a fan of that too :-)

Off the 225, you're in the middle of Tejas and everyone travels in vans. From the outside, it look like a slow night but once you walked in there were a sea of people eating peanuts. Luckily we found a seat at the bar otherwise we would have waited 40 minutes. The service was great. Our waiter was funny and cynical (what an amazing combo) besides the Roadhouse combo. It was a lot whole lot of food for little dinero. The ribeye was good not great but perfect for the covered floors in peanut shell. PS. happy hour (liquor only) m-f from 4-7 and sat-sun 4-6 (from what I remember)

This place is great. Great food. Service good.. The parking lot is extremely small though for this high volume restaurant!!

This Texas Roadhouse is my favorite in Colorado. The service is always friendly, and can I just say that the bottomless dinner rolls with cinnamon butter are absolutely fabulous (even if my waistline doesn't agree). The bucket of peanuts on the table is a nice touch. My first time there, someone told me that I could just throw the shells on the ground. I used to, but I didn't see anyone else do it, so I don't know if that's changed or not. Take a chance if you feel like it. What's the harm? I reccommend not ordering the sweet potato, no matter how much it may be calling to you. The potato is really small (even though they try to make up for it with brown sugar and cinnamon butter). For a side, I would get the house salad to balance out the the calorie rich lunch or dinner you will order. Even if you don't like salad, the croutons are the best I've ever tasted, and they put hard boiled egg bits on top (much better than it sounds). Any steak you order will be juicy and delicious, and the steak sauce on the table is delicious when mixed with a bit of A1. So when you're in the mood for a steak but don't feel like taking out a second mortgage on your house to pay for it, I would head into Texas Roadhouse.

Awesome! I love me some Texas Roadhouse! The food here is superb.. From the NY strip, to the Ribeye to the Smoked Prime Rib,,,My favorite dish here is the smoked Prime Rib, it's the best i've ever had..Even though this is a chain style restaurant the quality doesn't suffer. The whole country theme w/ the country flare and music makes for a good time. Every product here is top notch.. from semi-sweet honey rolls, to the sweet baked potato, to the fresh crisp salads. This place is ran like a well oiled machine.. The wait staff is always courteous and fast. They definitely have my vote for the best steak experience in town.. Yum!

  • Hungry B.

The best thing about Texas Roadhouse is those hot little dinner rolls served with cinnamon butter. They are so addicting! Just make sure you don't come late just before they close... by then the rolls are cold and and chewy and the wait staff refuses to get you some hot fresh ones. What else is good at Texas Roadhouse? Lots. The ribs are some of the best I've had, juicy and fall of the bones tender. The ribeye steak is our hands down favorite, when they cook it right. When it's right, it's not just steak, it's... toe-curling, swooning delight. When they don't, the service is usually good; they recook the steak and offer amends in the form of a cut of the tab or a free side while we wait, depending who's in charge that night. You gotta appreciate the good service. I have to admit, the mashed potatoes are a disappointment. Outback Steakhouse still does the best garlic mashed potatoes- so tasty that gravy isn't necessary. Outback also beats out Texas' salad- their honey mustard dressing and croutons are the best. Overall: Come! But make sure your steak is cooked right. It's a steak house, and eating a meh steak just doesn't cut it.

The only reason for one star instead of none is because our server did a good job. Our food today was terrible. The t-bone had no flavor, was still red in the middle for well-done, the ribs were burned, and we had to send chicken strips and the cactus blossom back because they weren't fully cooked. Hopefully it was just because they were busy, because we've enjoyed it in the past.

AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE GOT FOOD POISONING here on 8/12/13!!! Dined here after picking my aunt up from DIA. Both of us ordered the large ribeye. They were very tough and the flavor was slightly off. So, the manager was kind enough to swap them out for filets. By the time they arrived we felt full from the appetizer and side items. So, we just ate a couple of bites and packed the steaks to-go. After the 20 min drive home, both of our stomachs were cramping badly. We were VERY sick all night and my aunt landed in the ER the next day due to the symptoms of FOOD POISONING. I contacted the local TR to inquire if any other patrons had gotten food poisoning recently. The manager on duty referred me to corporate??? They asked us to forward the hospital reports which we did. All the corporate rep did was try to blame anywhere else. She listed other restaurants that have had outbreaks of food poisoning lately that we must have dined at. I explained it was impossible since Texas Roadhouse was the ONLY place we had both eaten together. So, basically, I paid $66 (including tip) for 2 steak dinners that had to be thrown away (twice, since we didn't dare eat the leftovers either)...AND landed in the ER. Only to recieve a letter in the mail that TR determined that they weren't responsible. Really??? Wtf? We never asked for anything other than for them to investigate so that other patrons don't get sick. However, they just added insult to illness! Pathetic!

This place is good but only one..... Minor .... Problem there chicken is kind of wired it's kind of grey but other then that they have good juice tendon loin steak and awesome cheese burgers. The other day I had a basket of hot wings and there were amazing. The chicken was a little dry but when you dip them in ranch or blue cheese the flavor melts in your mouth. So definitely eat here one day. :)

This place was awesome! I was in the area for work and a college of mine (who had been to a Texas Roadhouse before) took me here. I've been to roadhouses before, but this one is hands down the best. The food and the service were both 5 star! When the gentleman that seated us found out this was my first time at a Texas Roadhouse he had the manager bring us out some of their famous fall off the bone ribs (and yes, they do) to sample. They were great. I actually ordered them for my meal. The BBQ sauce used worked in concert with the perfectly cooked meat. Mix that with their house salad and some baked beans for a perfect meal. At the end of the meal the other manager stopped by to see what we thought. The friendliness of everyone we encountered at the Texas Roadhouse was second to none. This place deserves every one of the 5 stars I gave it. Thanks again for a great meal!

We always meet my girlfriend's daughter's dad near 104th and I-25. It is pretty much a middle point for us to meet when she goes to her dad's for the weekend. Being hungry after dropping her off, we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. The place was packed and we were told there would be a 45 min to hour wait. We decided to wait and have a drink in the bar. We noticed a couple get up from a booth in the bar and asked if it was part of the open seating, which it was, so we decided to eat in the bar. We only had to wait 5 minutes. Amy was our waitress and she was on top of our every need. I had the BBQ Chicken and Rib platter which was pretty good. It certainly was not Texas BBQ, but good nonetheless. My girlfriend had the steak kabobs which were also good. The food is pretty much on par with a Chili's in my opinion, but Texas Roadhouse is one of my preferred restaurant chains, so I'll go back. Besides it is convenient to the drop off spot for my girlfriend's daughter.

Recently visited. I've been trying to find a good steak place around here. They were great! The prime rib was cooked well and it melted in my mouth. The rolls were awesome too! I'll be back for more! =D

I love coming to this location because even though its always crazy busy no one ever thinks to walk in and sit at the bar. The last 3-4 times I have gone they have told me 45 min to an hour wait, and each time I was seated in the bar area within 5 minutes. The wait staff is always fast and friendly and the food can't be beat. I ordered the Ribeye my last visit and I am dying thinking about its juicy meaty greatness. I have had most things on the menu and recommend it all. Also stop by the free jukebox by the entrance and choose your favorites.

The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star is because the service and atmosphere were so good otherwise it would just be a 3 star. The food wasn't bad but it was just ok. I got the sirloin with a baked potato and veggies. Steak was decent, nothing too fancy. The thing I love most about this place were the bread rolls, YUM. They are unlimited and they come out steaming hot. The cinnamon butter is amazing too.

It's a steak house, what else do you get...? I seriously am a believer that you pay merely for the environment in these places, and thats okay, remember when trail dust was the place to go...? That was a neat place and TR reminds me of such, any how I always order one of the signature steaks, and I have to say it is good, but I never seem to get full at this place, why is that....? While some may think places put something else into the food to make you full, like at buffets etc. this place seems to have an opposite effect, I am almost certain I have never walked out of a TR and said dang I am full. That is a general consensus of the TR's around anyway this place was nice, clean, staff was cool, like as in joking with you cool, and the price well you have to expect to drop a 50 easily, w/o alcohol. I'll visit again, but only if you are buying and or I find a 50.00 bill. =0)

I have a thing for their bake potatoes here..the kosher salt and secret ingredient cause you to eat the entire thing. The rest of the food is pretty standard, the peanuts on the floor is not a draw but boy those spuds are worth getting with any meal

were here in Colorado visiting and went out to eat here for Fathers day dinner. Never had this place before so it was fun to try it . We all loved it, my kids, who are picky eaters even pigged out. The ribs and chicken were so good. the side dishes were delicious, which if you have never been there before they give you free samples of them. We also got the onion blossom which was good. My kids loved sitting there eating the peanuts that they got to shell themselves. And their bread rolls and sweet butter were the best, we got like 3 baskets of them. the service was great, our waitress was very nice and helpful. The manager also came over to welcome us and explain things to us a bit. The atmosphere is also nice and fun, country music playing and has the whole Texas feel to it!! We live in Vegas so we don't have one but we will definitely make the drive out to St. George, UT. to have dinner at this restaurant, lol

this place has great rolls and the cinnamon butter tops the flavor. the baby onion is just right for two or three people. we order the cowboy cut sirloin. really good cooked to perfection and good sized. enough to take home and have another meal. whats also good about this place is the call ahead. this way you dont have to go wait forever. because it gets packed. we have never been let down. good steak place.

The ribs are great here, so are the sweet potato, rolls, Ribeye steak. You get the idea. Everything I had was very tasty along with everyone in our party. I would go here anytime. Did I mention try the ribs they have an awesome sauce and you get a lot for what you pay for.

Unless you have a reservation you wait for a very long time! We always reserve the bread is always the best.with the honey butter I could always just do a meal of the bread alone. The meal was fairly good. Was supposed to get a mushroom gravy with my steak and never got it. But my steak was really good. Other then the mushroom gravy and the very VERY crowdedness it was a good experience. Need more room to eat.

My group of 4 came on a very busy night. We were told we had to wait 50 minutes and only waited about 30. That was nice. We all got rib eye steaks which were cooked perfect. One got ribs which he enjoyed but they were nothing special. The service was a bit slow on beverages and check backs but other than that it was good.

Every time we come to this location it is crazy busy but the service is always excellent. Our steaks are always cooked the way we order them. I always get the ribeye steak, medium rare. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. They know what they're doing back there. Kudos to the manager for hiring great people. They take care of us, everytime. Parking lot is small and it will take some time to find parking. There will be a wait during dinnertime. Worth it!!

Always the best place to go. Only downside is the wait, only because it's too good! Wait staff is very nice. Drink prices are great along with the margaritas! The bread is to die for. Defiantly not a good place for your waist line! As always, we will keep going back!

My husband and I went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon when the place was fairly packed but we were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated within 5 minutes. Our hipster waiter was pleasant and took the time to explained the drink specials and meal specials for us. Our grilled shrimp appetizer came out pretty promptly and they were delicious, plump and well seasoned, I could have eaten a half dozen more. Our drinks, beer for my husband and margarita for me, took a while to come out and our waiter stopped by our table to apologize and explain there had been a glitch in getting the order to the bartender. After that, the drinks came within a few minutes. Our food arrived shortly after but I was missing one of my sides and my husband had to ask for a basket of bread. The steaks were very well seasoned. My husband ordered the porterhouse medium and the steak was thick and juicy and cooked perfectly. I ordered the rib eye medium rare and my steak was a little more on the medium side than medium rare. The only red part was right in the center of the steak. It was well seared, however and very tender and juicy. Our waiter seemed to be slammed with tables but he did his best to check on us and kept our drinks refilled. All in all it was a good lunch and the few flubs I chalk up to how busy the place was. I would definitely return. Pros: Friendly staff, very tender and juicy, well seasoned meat. Shrimp was yummy. Warm, delicious bread. Cons: Loud atmosphere, my steak was slightly overdone.

So on 08/08/15 I went out with the wifie. We had an amazing dinner steak was just how I expected. .prefect medium rare. But when I left after being in a food coma I cought myself looking for my phone . Yup i left it at the restaurant. I called they were closing but I drove back from Arvada to find someone and they did this young man called his manager (Scott ) I think. Anyway I wanna say thanks for your hospitality and kidness..I will always come back to that location just because my experience was everything I wanted it to be. Even when I lost my phone. My night wasn't ruined because from the moment I walk through n to the moment I recovered my phone I was treated with kindness and that I will never forget. Big Thank You

Favorite place for our children to come and celebrate our birthdays. Service is always prompt and friendly. Their steaks always taste fresh! Love their honey rolls! My youngest son loves peanuts and making a mess on the floor!

I ordered the Cowboy cut steak and man it was awesome! Very feeling. It is a little pricy but that seems to be normal when your ordering a high oz steak. I love coming here.

We were there last Friday night for my daughter's birthday. Waitress was not friendly at all! She stood and talked to a table for a good 10 mins. Leaving us with no refills and our food being delivered to our table cold!! She finally makes it to the table asked if we needed anything? I told her all of our fries were cold. She brought a very slim basket of fries back to the table for 3 people and they looked the same. She said well that's all they have! What?? You mean they can't cook fresh fries?? Knowing that she was rude about that we didn't want to complain about the Luke warm steaks that we all 3 received!!! Then the manager was coming around to ask how everyone was doing and of course I told her. She offered dessert to us and proceeded to apologize. That was nice of her but really didn't fix the bad service and the luke warm steaks!!

This place is better then ever! There food was fantastic! 12oz filet that they cut just to my liking was delicious! The ribs truly feel off the bone! And the staff was super friendly and awesome! Big thanks to Vanessa and the manager Scott for being great.

I guess I might of got myself to excited for this one. Went at 6, was told it was a half hour wait ending up waiting over an hour. It was kids night and boy was it crazy, we were walked to our table to wait 10 minutes for a busser... They are limited to what part of the kids meal the kids can actually eat... of course the steak, ribs and chicken are a no. The blossom and sauce not good at all, I'll stick to outbacks. My steak was fine, nothing amazing but not gross either. Ribs are ok. UT the best is the bread and butter.

Yuuummmm.... the steak is fabulous and so is the white gravy. The only bad thing is parking but hopefully with the move there will be more! And for as busy as it is the service is always good.

Not the best i expected from TR, Came in right after they opened and it seem like a good crowd so noise level was high. Got seated in the booth that were adjacent to the the cooking area so traffic was high. The waitress was nice but seemed like she wasn't pleasant us with being there. She walked as though she had no motivation to work, although she did check in with us from time to time. Im usually a big eater but for some reason today, i wasn't that hungry. Nonetheless we (my wife and I) ordered away. First the appetizers: "killer ribs" and cactus blossom, Killer ribs were indeed fall off the bone but didnt have much taste, the bbq sauce they covered it in was tasteless. The blossom was ok but the breading filled apart from the onion each time we pulled it away. The bread and butter are very delicious. The blue moon that i order had a strange taste to it, idk if it was the orange slice that came with it but it did not taste like a blue moon at all. My wife got some kind of ice tea. She seemed ok with it. The main course, porterhouse with cup of chili and seasoned rice. My wife got the grill salmon with mash potatoes and corn. First off when the guy who brings out the food call the porterhouse a T-bone, there's a bad sign. I should had order a medium rare b/c the medium (hot pink center) i order was more medium well. The steak itself was tasteless, didn't know if they seasoned it or not. But it's not the best porterhouse I've had. The chili i had come out with the appetizers (seemed like canned chili). The best part of this was the season rice. Very tasteful. First let me quote my wife, "is it bad the i like the side dishes better than the main course?". Yea her grilled salmon was very DRY. Other than that, she liked the corn which were pretty tasty and her mash potatoes with gravy. With all that said, we pretty much took home the main course fully intact b/c we were full from the appetizers and bread.

Texas road house never disappoints! They have the best hot wing appetizer that I've ever tried! It is very loud in their but I don't mind! And don't forget to do call ahead seating so you don't have to wait!

My family and I love the Texas Roadhouse. The bread and butter is very addicting. I would also suggest trying the shrimp skewers if you love shrimp. We have never had a problem with the preparation of our steaks.

This is not a food complaint. A week before Mother's day, I called to ask about reservations, I was told they don't take reservations, but to call one hour before we go and they will put us on a wait list. I was calling because I was picking my parents up from a nursing home and they can endure a long wait. Subsequently I received an email touting their call ahead wait list service and it's convience. So mothers day at 430 I called and I was told the wait was 150 to 160mins, three hours really. Close the phone wait list if it's that long, or don't offer that service.

I do enjoy the bread with honey butter, and the steaks are good, but that's about it. We got the cheesy fries for the appetizer. The cheese is low quality, and not completely melted when they serve the dish. The portion is large though. The sides are loaded with butter, like the corn and the green beans. I had the sweet potato, which wasn't very good. Either the sweet potato wasn't cooked all the way through, or it was bad, because it was really sour. The pork chop was good though.

We went here and they were very packed, they tried to sit us in a booth were clearly my dog would be in the middle of the isle, my dog is a borzoi and they told me to put him under the table. I told them to seat us somewhere else, we finally got it after a server not paying attention ran right into our dog and food went everywhere. There was a group of three of us there that evening, we ordered a few drinks and it took 30 minutes just to get drinks. The two people who ordered from my table got cold food and we told them that and they said they could mirowave it, seriously? My burger came and there was a bug in the middle of my sandwich, I dont know if it was put there intention or if it had flown my sandwich but when I mentioned something to my server she said they have a bug problem in the summer months and she doesnt know how it could have got into my sandwich. I asked for a refund on my burger as I had lost my totally disgusted and even spoke to management and they blamed me for putting the dead bug in my sandwich. So I paid for the drinks and threw away my sandwich I am not going to eat something with bugs in it, that is disgusting. This Texas Roadhouse doesn't care about there customers and will make you pay and blame you for things that you didn't do. Very disappointed with the service and everything this place has to offer. I will not be back, I really wished they would treat customers differently as I once loved this resturant but after my experience with this establishment I have no interest in coming back. They have lost customers for life.

We have been coming here for years, it's my dad's favorite spot and I am pretty partial to it too. You might have a wait on your hands, so call ahead to reserve your spot in line and you'll probably only have to wait a few minutes after you arrive. I always get the chicken fried chicken and I love it! The cream gravy is thick and flavorful and the chicken is juicy and tender. The portion size is so big, you will have to get a to-go box for sure. They have great rolls (I order them and use them for Thanksgiving) and cinnamon butter that will make you melt. The staff is usually friendly and the place seems clean. Great place for a family dinner or fun date night, not for a quiet time.

Love coming here! Service depends how early or late you come. Usually we come right when they open to avoid a long wait for a table. All in all steaks to die for as well as great margaritas/mixed drinks. My husband and I will be costumers here for a long time comin!!!

I just enjoy dining at this establishment. Texas Roadhouse has great customer service and the food is cooked exactly the way my family and I order it. The employees always have a smile on their face no matter who I meet eyes with. This restaurant is family orientated environment with great tasting dishes. I take all my friends here when I get a chance. If you like steak and ribs this is the place to eat. The food comes out perfect every time I have eaten here and the call ahead for seating is convenient for busy nights. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes great customer service and excellent food.

I am shocked at how poor our service was at this location. I love TR and usually go to the one in Olde Town Arvada, but came to this one for a get together with some friends last Saturday night. We were in a party of 8 and called ahead for a reservation. We were seated within 15 minutes of us arriving which was great. The food, in true TR fashion, was really good, too (everyone in my party agreed). Unfortunately, the other thing that everyone in my party agreed about was how awful the service we received was. I am not going to mention names on Yelp (even though I will request not to be seated in this waitress' section if I ever come to this location again). From the second that we sat down, our waitress treated our group like we were a huge inconvenience to her. She didn't clear our plates to the point that a drink got spilled because there were so many plates and glasses left on the table. I kid you not, you could not see the table! She did not check in to see how the food was once and was snappy and rude the entire time. It's a shame that she did not treat us better. We all usually tip 20+% and since we all took separate checks, she would have made out really well had she treated us like guests instead of annoyances. I think the most anyone tipped was 15%. Too bad...

My dad is a huge fan, comes a few times a month and will bring myself and the rest of our family every once in a while. I do like Texas Roadhouse as well, but it's not at the top of my list when it comes to steakhouses. All that aside, this place is very good. It's on the cheaper side with a casual/fun atmosphere. The staff is usually pretty friendly, but occasionally you'll get a stale server. Today my dad and I were waited on by Ashley and she did great. Drinks were refilled constantly and she brought our food/check/extra requests to the table in a timely manner. Thornton doesn't have many options in terms of restaurants that aren't chains, but even for a chain Texas Roadhouse does very well and I'm always open to accompany someone here for lunch or dinner.

Yummy! Came here on a Wednesday night with family. The wait was only about 10 minutes and it was a very busy night. The peanuts are now in the waiting area, there are two big barrels of salted peanuts and yummy they were sooo good. We ordered drinks and we had a party of 8..all of the drink orders were correct and the Iced tea vodka was delicious. Appetizers ordered were shrimp and onion blossom. Both were seasoned well and tasted delicious. They came out very quickly and refills were right on time. We had warm rolls and it was so good. We all got full with bread, drinks, peanuts and appetizers before the dinners came out. Everyone ordered steaks and fries with a veggie side. Fries option was cheddar cheese and bacon bits on top..which looked gross to me but smelled and tasted good according to the other people in the party. My steak was ordered medium rare and it was so good and cooked to perfection. We couldn't eat anything else so we skipped sweets. I like the place overall and of course would come back anytime with friends and family. Service was great, staff was friendly and the food was good. A++

Texas Roadhouse, even though it's a chain, has consistent food, service and wait times. Coming on most nights for dinner, even with call ahead seating, the wait is over an hour but it's well worth it. The bread and butter is endless and so incredibly delicious. It's freshly made and arrives at your table hot. I always make the mistake of eating too much bread that by the time the meal comes, you have little room for the actual entree. To make matters worse, we also ordered the onion blossom which they have mastered along with a sauce that you can dip anything in. Surely this alone can be a meal! In an age of $100 checks when steak is involved, it's so refreshing to be able to get a good steak with sides for a reasonable price! The service is fast and friendly and if you ask nicely, they won't sing to you but simply drop off a delicious brownie when it's your birthday dinner. Go in expecting a long wait... but once seated, it's a pretty fun experience - and affordable too!

Very very good bbq but I am afraid it will have to compete with the new Jim n nicks on 120th now. There is always a wait but the food makes it worth it. The service is very friendly both at this location and the one in Arvada. I have had a few different appetizers of there's and all of them have been good.

This is one of my favorite steakhouses. The service here is always impeccable and the servers are always friendly and prompt. My first time here, my boyfriend and I were offered an entire full size sample platter of their sides (about 5-7 in total). We had ordered the Porterhouse which was cooked to perfection. Every single morsel was delicious. My second and third time here I had ordered the bone-in rib eye which was also perfectly cooked and seasoned but was quite fatty. The third time we were here was on Veteran's Day and though the special menu for Veterans was said to only be available from 11am-2pm, this location had decided to offer it all day long. It was understandably incredibly busy with a long wait, but they offered hot breads(almost as good as the steak!) to everyone while they wait. We were told our wait time would be close to 60-70mins, but were seated within 30. Our waitress, as with all the staff, was sweet and courteous. This establishment has become a staple now in my trips to Denver

While at first I didn't like this place, it has grown on me. The rolls and butter are unique and the tall PBR is a great deal. For the price of a combo meal at BK you could have a GREAT burger. Rattle snake bites are an awesome app to start with. The best part is that its so close to home.

Normally steakhouses aren't my jam, but this down to earth grill serves up some great cuts of meat and some surprisingly flavorful sides. I like their ribs and ribeye the best and their bread with the cinnamon butter should win some awards. It's a great place to bring a rowdy group of friends for a celebration.

Great steak, great price! 3 minutes from my house! That is a combination that is hard to beat. I always go to TR when I want steak. I used to go to Lonestar but they are a little farther and over the past couple years I have become an avid TR fan. I think the price is about the best and the steak is unbeatable. I got the New York Strip the other night and I think that is about the best value, great portion and just about as tender as the filet. Keep it up TR! Greg

I love this place. You can see the butchers in the back cutting the steaks. You have to appreciate that. The steaks are very good. I like the ribeye. Great char from the grill. It's not rated USDA prime, it's choice. At least it's not USDA select. The steak sauce is great. It is kind of citrusy instead of bitter like an A-1 type. The burgers are ground chuck, not just trimmings like you would get at a Walmart meat section. The Caesar salad is good too. I've never had anything I didn't like here. They are closed during the day, so plan accordingly.

Chain Steakhouse. Tips: Make sure you order your steak one temperature BELOW what you want. After being assured that "Medium Rare" did, indeed, mean a warm RED center, I was delivered a very Medium Well. And the recook was a perfect Medium. Still not close to Medium Rare. So it seems that Texas Roadhouse, like most other National Chains, has a problem accepting that people do actually want their steaks a bit closer to "Moo" than they do. But since it's an industry-wide issue, I can't really hate on them for that. BUT: The service made up for it. We sat at the bar and ate to avoid a 45+ minute wait. The bartenders were friendly and attentive without being annoying. (Except the Corporate-Mandated "HI! MY NAME'S SALLY, WHAT'S YOURS???" complete with handshake. Shudder. But that's not THIER fault.) The Bucket O' Peanuts are always a nice touch, too. Old school and whatnot. The beer isn't expensive and our co-line-jumpers (sitting next to us) were friendly, too. Plusses: Yeast Rolls with Cinnamon Honey Butter. I really don't need to say anything else, do I? Good. Surprisingly good Caesar Salad. Dressing with a good kick of garlic and anchovy. Call-Ahead Seating. (We learned the hard way this time! USE IT!) Hubby (Who is definitely NOT a carnivore) got the Fried Catfish, and it was quite passable! Not greasy, fresh-tasting, and cornmeal dusted. Enough to take a piece home for tomorrow's sandwich, too! Minuses: I LIKE MY STEAK RED. Moo! MOO, I SAY!! Also: They have gotten rid of their Baked Beans side. Boo. So... All in all, a decent, if not "oh my gosh, we need to rush back here!" experience. I'm sure we'd return if we were in the 'hood and the mood struck.

Everything you eat here is so greasy and delicious! They always do a great job. If they don't they are always good about comping or giving you free stuff. The j only down side is that it's so loud! My dad refuses to eat here because he can't hear anyone speak.

My family and I came in for dinner on a weeknight. First they gave us a pager and said it would be 20 to 30 min. wait. After 25min or so our pager went off. So you would think your table is ready. But no, that just meant that we could go to the staging area where you feel like a hearted cow.. So we wait there for 5 min or so, then they come up and say we'll seat you now. But we're still just standing there. After another couple of min we actually start walking towards a table. But wait! Your not getting a table yet. So they heard us around and we end up standing in the isle for another few min. At this point we are ready to walk out. We came for dinner and ended up being herded around like cows. We finally get a table and order. I ordered my steak med. And it arrived almost raw. It will be a very long time before we return. There are way too many steakhouses around to tolerate being herded around and being treated like a piece of meat. Oh and the meat was poorly cooked anyway.

For a somewhat small meal the Early Dine is a good choice. The 6oz Sirloin with a salad and baked potato is filling. Throw in a Happy Hour 20oz cold beer and you'll leave fairly content.

I have always had great service at Texas Roadhouse and the food has always been excellent. It is a little pricy and the wait can be long on Friday nights and weekends but what isnt here in the Denver Metro area? I have never had any complaints about eating here and will return again.

I'm a stickler for consistency, especially when it comes to steak. This place does it time and time again. Always cooked right, and the food is always excellent. Aside from the occasional under/overcooked steak, everything is always perfect. And when they do screw up, they are happy to compensate you for it, especially if it was a to go order.

I have to start out by saying Texas Roadhouse has been our favorite place to eat, good food, cooked like you like it. Good service, but...... We went there Monday anticipating an excellent meal, but by the time we left we were so disappointed with our experience and meal, it will be a long time before we go back! First of all, when we were to be seated we asked to be seated in a booth by the windows. They had just opened and were NOT yet busy. So he set us ACROSS the isle from the window in a booth (if you want to call it that, my impression was a McDonalds table, that's how big it was). I said something to the person and all he could do is stumble all over himself and try to put us in some corner. There were 3 empty booths right up where we were at! I told him we were already seated and weren't interested in playing musical chairs. When they brought out our food, they had to remove the 2 buckets for peanuts, and basket of rolls to fit our salad and dinner plates on the table. Then when they were seating the booth across from us, the people kept putting their BUTTS IN OUR FACE AND SALAD BOWLS!!! WTF During our whole meal and by the time we left, there was 2 empty booths by the windows in the area we were sitting at! I know your thinking why didn't we move, we requested a booth by the windows, YOU DIDNT LISTEN!!! I'll say it again, I went there to eat, not play musical chairs!!! I'm sure this experience colored our perception of the quality of our food, but I didn't even think it was as good as usual. I'm sure it will be a LONG TIME before we feel like even coming back. It had been a year sense we had been there, I imagine it will be longer if ever, till we go back!

Tried this restaurant for the third time the other night, only because I went with a group that wanted to go. I've never had a good experience here, and never intended to come back. This time was no different. Waited 30 mins for a table, no prime rib left after 7:30pm, so loud that you can't hear the person next to you, and 4 tables had birthdays, which means that the servers gather around the tables, sing and make even more noise. Not the place for a nice quiet meal.

Visiting from out of town, Texas Roadhouse is a pretty safe choice for dinner and tonight was great! My steak was cooked perfectly and all my coworkers enjoyed their meals as well. But what made the meal great was our waitress StaceyNoel! Great attitude and was very personable. Stopped and talked to us for a while and we got to know her. Ask for her when you go! Great job StaceyNoel!!

I've been to this chain before but this was a great experience. Our server was awesome, a great kid. He was really funny and on his A-game with checking on us enough but not too much and refilling our sodas. Our food came out really fast, much faster than we expected. It was also very tasty and I devoured my food. I'd definitely come back.

Ever since I moved to Portland, food at chain restaurants just don't do it for me. I've gotten used to fresh, local, sustainable ingredients. But I must say Texas Roadhouse is the one exception, and the reason is because they do use fresh ingredients daily. In fact when I crave steak, this is the place I always want to go to. Forget morton's and other high end steak places, I prefer Texas Roadhouse. They have a plethora of sides to choose from, and many cuts of meat at a very affordable price. I always get the house salad and a baked potato. And i think my favorite part of the meal is free- the freshly baked rolls with cinnamon brown sugar butter. Sure the place is a bit loud, crowded, and a bit and annoying when they start to sing birthday songs, but the food never disappoints.

This place is always crazy busy but they always take care of us..the pulled pork was great and the portion was large.. Great atmosphere for large groups and children rolls and peanuts were a big hit with the kiddos..

Always the best place to go. Only downside is the wait, only because it's too good! Wait staff is very nice. Drink prices are great along with the margaritas! The bread is to die for. Defiantly not a good place for your waist line! As always, we will keep going back!

  • Liz T.

  • T. C.
