This place had become a regular stop on the lunch rotation. The food is consistently good and the staff is usually friendly and quick. The ingredients are of pretty good quality and the value is similar to chipotle or other similar burrito joints. Try the Bella Rosa, it's my favorite!

Fricken love this place. It's different than Chipotle and Qdoba and I do like how I get to choose my own tortilla skin. It's a bit expensive, but worth it.

Awesome! My wife and I recently visited this place and the staff was very helpful! Basically took us by the hand and walked us through the menu and order process. Food was fresh and the lobby was extremely clean. Staff was really nice. I recommend checking it out and we will be returning. Again, awesome!

Didn't have the feel of the original location, but just as delicious and undoubtedly better than any chain burrito.

Love at first taste. This is the 1st Big City Burrito I visited and every subsequent order continues to be magical. I love the burritos, the service is always great and atmosphere isn't too bad either. Each location is kept clean and there's always a fun selection of hot sauces to test.

The staff is all so friendly and makes delicious burritos. I'm always down for a breakfast burrito from BCB, and the price isn't bad for the portions!

Meh, carnitas were dry, the staff was yelling the questions like I was across the room and cheese is an extra charge? I love to support the little guys but need to do better.

My kids and I frequent here aa much as my check book will allow. They have the best food. I always get a great deal too. You can text the number while in line and it comes to you right away. The potato they use its so good. I absolutely love the staff anytime we come here. They're always very friendly and in such a positive attitude. It's refreshing to see them smile. Whenever I go to Subway they're rude and act like they hate their job. Not BCB they don't give you that sense that they're just waiting for the clock out time. I'll always keep coming here as long as this location keeps having friendly staff, great ingredients, and nice deals for us.

Have been a loyal customer for years now. Just wanted to review this restaurant and give them my review. Was in here two weeks ago and still never disappoints me. Ever since the first day I tried BCB a couple years ago. Walking in, the staff always is friendly and polite. They are patient with me and my girlfriend as we look over the menu sometimes to try different items for the day. I always tend to stick with a carne asada burrito with the jalapeno cheddar tortilla which never fails me. You have a choice of the regular size or a super size. Both are filling to me, but sometimes I order the size depending on how hungry I feel. When filling your burrito with ingredients, it is right in front of you, so you can be as picky as you want with what you put inside your creation. I love meat and they usually are generous enough with it when filling. I am always happy when they roll the finished product up, because it is full and almost about to explode from the stuffed ingredients! Sometimes I order the chips as a side as well, they are made from the tortillas you pick from at the beginning all chopped up and fried. They come in all varieties to choose from. They are amazing and delicious, highly recommended! Big City Burrito is by far my personal favorite burrito followed closely by Qdoba. Hope this helps you!

The coupons do have expiration dates, BTW, but King Sooper is still putting out new ones. Good deal!!!

Big City Burritos are almost edible..and that's being generous... I would save your money and go to Qdoba. The burritos can be better and should be better for what they charge for their product. The tortillas fall apart after a few bites, they don't have that nice chewy goodness like Qdoba or Chipolte. The meats are subpar.. the rice is bland, the salsa is well...you know...for an overall burrito.. it's gross..it was not a very good experience, specially after throwing down over 6 bucks on it... I only had to visit this place once.. and I haven't been back...

I love their potato burrito and the fact that they always offer coupons!!

a well overdue review for my preferred burrito spot. friendly service, quality ingredients, best taste which isn't found at similar establishments. yes wait time is longer than Chipotle....because they use the time to properly build your custom burrito, which can also lead to the need for slower rolling to ensure all ingredients get included and the tortilla doesn't break. also...they saute well seasoned tasty vegetables ON THE SPOT! having a choice of flavored tortilla with melted on cheese is also a nice change. ingredients always taste fresh...and employees are always friendly and appear to enjoy their job. definitely 'Woohoo! As good as it gets!' so long Chipotle!

I still love this place, but tonight I am a bit irritated (Yelping while upset, I know it isn't healthy). I had a coupon on my phone for a super burrito and drink for $6, so I got the super and a drink. My little guys got a kids burrito with nothing in it but potatoes, cheese and salsa and my other one got a regular sized chicken burrito with only cheese. At the register they told me the total ($17 something) and I was shocked because we got so little. Turns out that a kids burrito is counted as a "meat burrito" as soon as they throw some potatoes in there (non-meat burrito is $1.99, with meat [or potato in this case] it is $3.59), if I had known I would have gotten him the regular size since it's only $1.50 or so difference. Then instead of doing my super burrito on the $6 deal, they did my son's regular burrito on the deal and I paid full price for mine. It's all minor stuff, but it is frustrating that they didn't mention that potato makes it a meat burrito. They have never charged me like that before. Just be sure to check your receipt.

I love everything about these burritos, but I must admit that my heart belongs to the potato burrito. All other burritos pale on comparison. It's also what makes BCB different than your old Chipotle and Qdoba. Choose your tortilla flavor, cheese, get some piping hot home style potatoes in there and dress it up with your favorites. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Make sure to stop in on Tuesdays for the Fat Tuesday special - a potato burrito and drink for $5.

Imagine Chipotle or Qdoba if you could choose every single thing on the burrito including eggs & hashbrowns... Welcome to Big City Burrito! This place is the best, always quick, a million combinations and a large, affordable burrito. Love you...

The worst service I have ever gotten. We have never ate here and decided to check it out. After waiting in line for a good ten minutes a bunch of people came in after us, the ladies working were running around the back and I heard one of them say "go away I dont want your service," loudly. Fine, I'll take my service to chipotle.

    (1)
  • Stan S.

A little bit of a twist on your standard burrito joint. Unfortunately the twist isn't that exciting to me. If I were given the choice between Big City, Chipotle, or Qdoba, I probably would go to whichever one was closest to me.

Since moving to the area, we've been to this Big City Burrito several times. Why? Because they are simple, delicious, cheap and quick. And of course, vegetarian friendly. My new obsession is getting potatoes in my burritos, because as a vegetarian who doesn't eat eggs, I have only had one breakfast burrito in my life. Not here; you can put anything you want (including vegetarian rice, vegetarian black beans, vegetarian pinto beans, potatoes, fresh grilled veggies, etc) into your burrito. I will say that their salsa are kind of blah -- I'd much prefer the taste of the ones offered at Chipotle or Qdoba...but I do prefer supporting a local chain over a national one. Did I mention they have like six different tortilla options? The service is hit or miss. Sometimes, I get through the line in less than two minutes with no one in front of me. Other times, the staff doesn't know the answers to questions, and it has taken me up to 10 minutes to get a burrito with no one in front of me. That being said, it's a decent price, usually quick, vegetarian friendly and quite tasty, which is what I'm looking for in a quick service place.

If you know how to order what you want, you'll enjoy what you get. They'll make your food however you want it to be made, with however much you want of each ingredient. There is usually one or two workers on duty, so be ready to wait a whole 5 minutes for your burrito, 7 if you get two. I love BCB. Their sauces and the choice of tortillas are the stars. I usually have carnitas with beans, pico, strawberry-habanero sauce, on a jalapeno-cheddar tortilla. You can get the burritos in regular size or super. I prefer this to Chipotle, because Chipotle is boring and full of rice. I like my food to have a little bit of personality.

I work in the same area that this Big Burrito is at. I have been going there for awhile. The burritos used to be great. However, I'm not sure what has happened, but I get the beef carne asada burrito and the meat is now full of gristle and fat. Just a few months ago this wasn't the case. The beef was lean, tender and very good. I'm not sure what has happened lately, but I have stopped going there for lunch, as have some of my fellow employees. This is too bad because before they decided to start using cheap cuts of meat and leaving in the gristle and fat, this burritos were great. Note to owner, trying to cut costs by using cheaper ingredients will not raise your revenue. Please go back to what you were doing. If I find out you have, I'll start going in again and refer this place to my fellow employees and friends. There's nothing like word of mouth advertising.

I went here once. I started to watch as the girl behind the counter made my chicken burrito by slapping two pre-packaged slices of white american cheese on a tortilla, and throwing it in a microwave to get it to melt. It was at that point I thought i was going to be sick, but I allowed her to finish. After leaving the store and paying $5.93 for just a burrito, I went to Chipotle to get another burrito, because I was sure I would hate the BigCity one. First, the burrito at chipotle was like 30 cents cheaper. They use REAL CHEESE, and nothing but organic ingredients. I tried so hard to eat the BigCity burrito, but I couldn't stomach it. Everything tasted fake. I then enjoyed my Chipotle burrito while I allowed my dog to eat the rest of the BigCity burrito. My dog liked their burrito, so maybe you will like their burritos too.

  • Kathy M.

Excellent breakfast burrito you can get any time. Clean place with competent and friendly counter service. 3 kinds of pico de gallo so you can actually get a little heat if that's what you like. Worth the price too. Definitely give this place your business instead of boring Chipotle.

Used to love this place. But it seams like now that every Big City Burrito is operated independently. We usually go to the one up near Orchard and they make the burritos really well and are friendly. This place in Thornton is like a different company. Here is why this place is different. If they are making your breakfast burrito and run out of ingredients they don't get more. My super was smaller than my wife's regular. They put on potatoes and I had about 5 pieces of potato and emptied the little container and she went on to eggs. She put on one scoop of eggs. My wife's burrito they mixed salsas without me ever noticing. Then while ringing up she forgot one of my drinks. Never a problem at the other Big City Burrito. This one was horrible. Got home to eat it and they were both freezing cold.. They need to train people better there. Edit. Been there a few more times and it is way better now. I still wouldn't try and get a breakfast burrito in the evening but service was way better.

Really, guys? 4 stars? I don't get it. We got a recommendation for this place and went the other day for lunch since we were nearby. Basically it feels like someone walked in Chipolte, said "Hey! I'm going to do this EXACT. SAME. THING but make my burritos smaller, more expensive (size to price ratio), and not nearly enough seating arrangements". Maybe it was just the time that we went at, since it was about 1 and everyone was there for lunch, but there was only one place to sit, high up barstool-style which was difficult for my 3-year-old. The selections were pretty much identical to Chipolte, although the tortillas I admit are moist and very squishy, and I did like that part of it. My husband got a chicken burrito, I got bean and beef, and my son got bean and cheese off the Kid's menu. The kid's menu burrito is seriously little.. had I known that, I'd have gotten him a regular burrito. I don't know who they are basing their kid's meal portions off of, but I've never had a kid's burrito so small before. Pretty sure the pinto beans were from a can, the beef was alright but nothing special. Salsa was good. Cheese was good (but when is it not?). Toppings were fresh. Altogether for 2 adult burritos, a kid's bean and cheese, and a packaged cookie= 18 bucks. Sorry, guys. Burritos are what I go to when we are broke. They're cheap. Probably one of the cheapest options out there besides Ramen. I know I expect it to be more expensive at a restaurant, but I don't have 18 bucks to blow on a few mediocre bean and cheese burritos. Good news for you, though, is I apparently seem to be the only one who feels this way! :)

Big City Burrito kinda reminds me of if Guy Fieri made love to a Chipotle burrito. And I mean that in the best possible way. Think Chipotle's oversized, over-stuffed burritos. Now add ingredients like ranch dressing, pork green chili, seasoned home fries, chicken mole etc. Tortillas that include white, wheat, tomato chile, pesto, jalapeno/cheddar and spinach. Now add that to the fact that they have a size called "gut-buster" and you get the idea. My go-to burrito is "Brad's Bomb." Don't bother asking what's inside...just wear loose pants and go for it!

  • Mailou V.

This place rules. I always stop and get the breakfast burritos, but for the first time I've tried the carnitas, and wow it was pretty amazing!

  • Jenny C.

The wait for the burritos is longer than you'd expect. They have a production line similar to Chipotle, but it's not nearly as efficient. The acoustics in this building make it particularly hard to hear, even though the person you're trying to give your order to is 2-3 feet away. If there are unhappy kids in the area, you better hope your burrito maker can read lips and get it right. I got a bean and cheese burrito. It was underwhelming. It needed twice as much cheese for the amount of beans she put in there. They use whole beans, instead of the refried beans I was hoping for. My husband was not impressed with his burrito, either. We still have a certificate to use and I'm not sure if it's worth it to come out here again. I'm debating giving it away, but that may not be such a good idea. If we had had to pay full price for this meal, it would have definitely not been worth it.

Better mix-n-match than Chipotle. Several kinds and sizes of tortillas. The mole chicken was a little soupy to put in a burrito; it dripped out through my hands rather fast. The other half was veggie, which was a great blend (and sauteed fresh for each order). Guac was a buck more, but comparable to Chipotle ($1.80) regarding quantity to price ratio. It was slow; two teenage boys had the run of things and did the best they could. I might try the same next time, only make it a salad.

  • Leroy P.

I recommend the owners change the name to: LITTLE City Burrito. Their prices have remained the same and the portions have become extremely tiny. Good food, good taste, but too little for the value. I'll stick with Chipotle!

    (1)
  • Nina M.

Good alternative (and smaller chain) to other burrito shops. Lots of choices of tortilla flavors. Being able to add potatoes to the burrito is a plus and I love their mole sauce. Most recently, my husband had one of their "specialty" breakfast burritos and said it was great. I ordered a more add-as-you-go breakfast burrito and it was also tasty, albeit a bit more expensive than Santiago's. You do seem to get more bang for your buck, however because it was hard to finish.

Big burritos filled with nasty shit. So totally go here if you like overcooked meat and undercooked rice. They do have some good made in house salsas though and a big selection of other hot sauce bottles, so two stars for that. Seriously, the burrito I ate at Coors field was better than this.....

i love big city Burrito! the first time i tried big city Burrito was went I was in school at CSU. I would wait in line every Tuesday to get the potatoes Burrito. When I moved out of Fort Collin to Denver. I thought man i am going to miss big city Burrito but it turn out they have multiple locations around the Denver metro area. This place serve the best potatoes Burrito in town especially with the strawberry Habernos and jalapenos green chillies sauce. If you want to try a new and unique Burrito joint, try this place. I guarantee you wouldn't regret it. I have recommend this place to many of my friends and they all love it.

Wondering why everyone has been so harsh on BCB. I would not give them a 5 because they are what they are, a burrito joint. And in my 2 visits to this location did not leave dissatisfied. This morning I had the large "[7]Jimmy's Flame Thrower" ( I think that is what it was called). A breakfast burrito. Great flavors in every bite and yep, got me to sweating. It was so good and I almost ate the whole thing, about 3 bites short but I was so close. They like the other burrito chains, no shortage of contents. I will go there again when in the area.

you have to try the king kong carne!! one of my all time favorite burritos. also a great burrito to help with that dang hang over.

Two stars MAYBE. This is the kind of place where 1. there's no where else to go around there, so it might as well be here. 2. you walk in and feel like you made a mistake, and it gets worse and worse the closer you get to ordering. I know that BCB has a lot of fans in Ft. Collins but this place just does not cut it. The ingredients are CHEAP and to add insult to injury they skimp on them. Additionally -- you know what they call a quesadilla here? - a burrito folded a different way. oh, minus a 'slice' of cheese. wtf? OH -- forget any kind of plastic fork, knife, spoon. you just don't get them. So chow down any way you can without... the service/assembly line was slow and overwhelmed - unable mimic the efficiency of the 'Chipotle' service model. there was a 'selection' of hot sauce bottles lined up on a shelf. this place is so cheap they can't put a few to a table to diminish the grubby second-hand bottle syndrome. Yech. go here only if you have to. Next time i'm across the parking lot at the the Lowe's Hardware hot dog cart...

I tried them for the first time and liked their burritos more than Chipotle or Qdoba. They remind me of Freebirds. There are various tortilla options (we got jalapeño cheddar and pesto) and various size options (10 in, 12 in, etc). We tried chile verde and chicken mole. Chile verde was pretty spicy. I really like that they heat the tortillas with the cheese on them so that the cheese melts. One of my biggest gripes about Chipotle is that the cheese in my burrito is often still shredded instead of melted. Chipotle's meat isn't hot enough to melt the cheese. Ok, I digress, back to Big City. The other toppings they have are pretty much the same as all other fast food burrito places. The guy rolling up our burritos did a far superior job than Chipotle (sorry, back to Chipotle). It was tight, it was neat. Chipotle is sloppy. You've got stuff falling out as they're wrapping it up and don't you dare try to remove it from it's foil case when eating. You will get a pile of burrito mess.

  • Adam S.

This is a restaurant ala Chipotle, assemble your burrito to order. The variety of choices is much more. The quality of ingredients is less (not organic, etc). The price is therefore less than Chipotle, who I am boycotting since they now charge $2 for guacamole. I usually get the chicken mole burrito with tangy green sauce and it is one of the best tasting burritos I have had in a long time. It satisfies more than some sit down places. As for the review on skimping on ingredients, I have not had that problem. You can always ask for more as well. There are 2 sizes for burritos and the large is quite filling.

    (3)
  • Mary Jo S.

Just another Chipolte or Qdoba burrito place. I did like the choices of tortillas, I had spinach. The salsas were fine and you were offered about 20 different bottles of hot sauce to spice it up if need be. I did not like the fact that they had an aluminum ceiling and cement floors, the noise was really loud. And Big City Burrito is slow. But, in the land of fast food by the Thornton Wal-Mart it is one of the better offerings. I just wish I had not been starving before I started a patio furniture shopping spree as I would have spent my $6.00 a little differently.

  • Rob K.

Have to agree with Blake H., not sure why all the negative reviews. The potato burritos rock, throw some eggs and beans on to kick it up. Never had a bad tasting meal here. Read the reviews on the Fort Collins store, same deal with exception of FoCo store offers a lot more hot sauce options.

  • Remy D.

its big shi**ty- it rocks, we have been eating here for years way back in the fort days. the meat and potato is the best breakfast isn't to bad either. you gotta try it.

  • Matthew L.

The potato buritto is bomb digs. Do it up with some black beans, onions, cheese, and japs. Oh yes, well done potatos. Favorite part about this place is the abundence of hot sauces, usually at least a dozen.

    (4)
  • Dane F.

Good stuff here. I love the location in Fort Collins so I wanted to give the Thornton location a try as that's the closest one to me now. While the food is good and very similar to the Fort Collins location, its just not quite as good. The layout is more annoying to me, my tortilla was cold, the hot sauce selection was lacking, and they were playing annoying heavy metal music during peak lunch hours. Food still is really good, try the super potato on jalapeño cheddar. I will have to try the other locations, this one just doesn't have that charm that the FoCo location has, but still worth coming to.

I first was introduced to BCB when I lived in Aurora.. and noticed this location a few months ago and decided to give it a try.. ! I got there as it was getting later and as I walked in there was a bit of a line.. Which was a good thing.. It must be good if there are others there at an hour you wouldn't expect. The staff was friendly and they had a sense of reserved urgency in meeting all of the guest needs ! I'm gonna totally check this place out again!

I was in town, so I stopped over to Big City Burrito, as I had eaten there once and enjoyed it. What I like about Big City Burrito is the lack of politics. I stopped eating Chipotle after they started their campaign of paranoia and bashing farmers that keep the public fed. Anyway, I stopped in and it wasn't busy. The staff was friendly and the prices weren't too bad. The burrito maker was very polite in letting me figure out what I was getting. I decided on a beef carne asada burrito with lots of beans, rice, and salsa. I didn't get a super size because I wanted to save a little on calories. I'm actually really happy you can get a smaller burrito - their competitor Chipotle only serves their massive 1000+ calorie burritos, which isn't very healthy. I took my burrito home, which is 20 minutes away. So it was a little soggy when I got home, but that was my fault. I really hate the tin foil. It is thin, cheap, and annoying to peel off because it sticks to the burrito, that is my reason for rating 4/5. The meat was still tender, juicy and delicious. Their hot salsa is not very hot, but it wasn't bad on flavor. I would probably eat here again if I was in town, but I wouldn't go out of my way because there are other options close to home.

  • Mark H.

The food here is good, the bad taste came from me seeing the manager publicly censure the server over a non issue. Instead of just managing the issue he made the people in line and myself wait while he was disciplining the server and then made us wait even longer when he made a big deal about getting product that was missing from the line. I come here often, or did, I guess I should now say. As someone who has been in a similar position I found it very unprofessional.

Uh, wow. What happened here, guys? We used to be big fans of BCB, but we stopped going last year in an effort to cut down on lunches out. I stopped in to get a lunch treat for the family about 11am this morning, and I don't think I'll be coming back. Four little high school girls were working the counter, and by working, I mean standing around whining about working. They were out of chips, out of mild salsa, and seemed to want to be out of jobs given their attitudes. They were in such a hurry to get my orders through that they barely gave me time to confirm what exactly I wanted on each order. They also acted put out when my son wanted sausage on his tacos. The final straw? Charging me for two super breakfast burritos (hubby wanted a super, daughter wanted a regular), but sending me home with two regulars? What the heck happened here? I get being busy, I get being out of stuff and I get making mistakes, but I don't get making customers feel completely unappreciated. No apologies from these girls, no smiles? Guess I'll vote with my wallet and give you no business from now on! No Bueno!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
