Everything on the menu looked good, and we sat at the bar so we saw lots of dishes coming out. I ordered the Belgian waffle and scrambled eggs and my husband had the chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely return next time we ar in the area. Need to try the oven cakes, they looked so good!

@sunshinecafe_co Quick service despite being filled to capacity with families and tourists and locals. The side of bacon was hearty with many pieces of crisp delicious bacony goodness to devour. Despite being in a strip mall, the Sunshine Cafe delivers th

You would imagine that a place with a line a reported local hot spot would have a meal to write home about.. but not exactly. So the good: - they have really fast service - menu with a super wide range of options - really friendly and fun servers that catch onto jokes and make sure everything is going okay The bad: - the food - its merely average among diner food. You would think being in Colorado you would get a unique dining experience. At least the berries/trout and etc. would be freshish - the lines... yes there are lines...30 minutes ish... on a Sunday at around 10AM - CRAZY

Ugh. Never again. This place used to be so good in the old days and it's gone down a serious hill. Food was greasy (I had the blue river special at breakfast) and it wasn't that tasty at all. The green chili on my husband's plate didn't look like it had any pork in it at all and was a measly little dollop. I remember when it would dribble off the side of the plate and it was the best green chili ever. No more. Sorry, Sunshine, I will go to McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich before I come here again.

We stopped at Sunshine Cafe and were seated immediately. Our much needed coffee came right away. We both ordered French toast combos with eggs and bacon. The eggs were served light and fluffy. The bacon crisp and the French toast eggy and perfect. This restaurant does not disappoint.

Fantastic lunch here on 8/6/15. My husband had eggs Benedict and I had a sandwich, Mike's special, I think. They were both very good, and the service was great too. The only complaint was that it was a little stuffy in the dining area.

I've been coming to Silverthorne for 20 years and this is the first time I have eaten at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly. The food isn't fancy but very flavorful. Perfect place to stop before hitting the slopes or a mountain hike.

Just meh. Totally not worth the price. The service was quick and the waitress friendly but the food wasn't great. Way overpriced, especially the coffee... $2.35 for dinner coffee. Again just meh.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Went there twice. Had both the chorizo benedict and veggie benedict. Both were delicious with the eggs silky and perfect.

Hadn't been to Sunshine Cafe for several years but it was always a fave growing up on our way to Keystone or Breck! Made it a priority to stop in this morning with the hubby and kids. Every last one of us was thrilled with our breakfast... Hot, fresh and delicious!! Ingredients obviously top notch and service was fantastic! We will make more of an effort to come in again sooner next time! Good job Spry's ... Thanks to you Sunshine Cafe is better than EVER!!

This place is a hidden gem in the town of Dillon. I have driven through this town hundreds of times. We stopped in here a few weekends back after attending a weekend wedding in town. Wow! What a nice surprise. Friendly service with an all hands on deck approach. My husband ordered the tilapia and loved it and I had the vegetarian burrito. It was a large portion, yet somehow managed to eat the whole thing! I was stuffed for the entire day. Delicious little breakfast nook and definitely will be back again.

I have been to Sunshine numerous times and never been disappointed. Good service and good breakfast.

Morning after Thanksgiving. Tired - need coffee. I remember going to this place with my son about 15 years ago. Nothing has changed. Still cozy and friendly. Enjoyed a nice omelette with my coffee. It's no wonder this place has been in business for so long. They are doing something right.

I would give this place 5 stars but for the fact that they don't have an espresso machine. The service is excellent and the breakfast is very very yummy. LOVE the enchiladas and eggs! Mmmm. But seriously every plate that is passing before me looks great. The wait on weekends is pretty epic so be prepared for 45 minutes to do your taxes, finish Anna Karenina or just run up to Starbucks and get a latte!

I've only ever been here for breakfast, so I don't know about their lunch selection, but their breakfast is awesome. I always have the biscuits and gravy and I am never disappointed. My boyfriend is more adventurous and has something different every time and always likes whatever he ends up with. Service has also been good each time, so I have to say this is one of my favorite local breakfast spots. The only thing that makes me knock them down a star is their Bloody Mary's. They are terrible. I'm a big fan of Bloody Mary's and I have had many great ones here in Summit County, but this ranks up there with the worst of them. It literally tastes like they just took tomato juice and stuck a bunch of horseradish in there and garnished it with a celery stick and lemon wedge. Change your Bloody Mary, Sunshine and you will have a 5 star establishment.

I have been to the Sunshine Cafe a number of times and have yet to be disappointed. Both breakfast and lunch are very good, especially the breakfast burritos. The icing on the cake is the wait staff is as good as the food.

  • Dilroy M.

The service was so horrible. The worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. The manager was clueless and didn't give a crap. We will not be returning again. This was the last time.

I came here this week for breakfast. Sunshine cafe' has become somewhat of a mainstay on my visits to the high country. I learned today that they are under new ownership in the past several months. Service was prompt, polite, excellent and done with a smile. Several staff took their time to ask how everything was, including the new owner. I couldn't help but notice that every staff member I saw was smiling, even the kitchen staff. This tells me a lot about the place before I even see the food. I ordered just a simple tall stack of blueberry pancakes and a cup of coffee. Both were solid. Not the best food I've ever had but excellent comfort food. I will keep coming back.

Sunshine is the local's holy grail for brunch in Summit. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Great homemade food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. It gets very busy on weekends, so be prepared to wait for a table, it's worth it!

Stopped in for breakfast just before going to Keystone and had a great breakfast. The ingredients were of great quality and didn't leave me feeling sluggish for my day at the slopes.

Great breakfast and bloody marys and cheap meals. Service was pretty slow putting in our order and same with our waitress greeting us but once she did she was super nice.

This will always be my breakfast go to place while I'm in the Dillon, Frisco area. Staff is always friendly and very welcoming. The food is really tasty and prepared well. They carry Udi's and will make gluten free French toast and sandwiches.

Was staying in town for a wedding and we stopped in for breakfast Sunday morning. We enjoyed it, so we came back again Monday morning before heading off to the airport. The food was good, above average for a cafe like this. Our server on both occasions was prompt and polite. A lady, that I believe was the owner or manager stopped by both visits to check on us. We had a slight wait on Sunday but it wasn't long at all. The person seating you takes your drink order before your waiter or waitress comes by or you have had a chance to really look at the menu, since it was our first time here I did not realize they had alcohol. It would be helpful if they asked "can I start you off with a mimosa or screwdriver?" or something to that effect so you know they have alcohol and don't pay $3 for an orange juice only to find out they have mimosas and then have to spend another $4.95. Minor issue though.

Food is definitely a step above greasy spoon. The snowboarder's jump start breakfast sandwich is my absolute favorite; egg, tomato and avocado on sourdough- yum!! I've never had a bad meal here. All the food items are tasty and freshly prepared. Staff is good, never amazing but never terrible. My favorite breakfast spot in Summit County. It it always busy during peak summer and winter times, so plan ahead. They do a pretty good job managing the wait list and have an ok amount of space to wait, though it is pretty cramped. If you get there early enough, it won't be a problem.

    (5)
  • Kate O.

After reading the reviews we knew we wanted to try this for breakfast. I got the snowboarder sandwich, which is a veggie breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado and tomato. It came with a side of hash browns. The meal was fine. My hubby got the santa fe omelet with veggie green chili. He said the same thing about his meal, it is fine. The server was good about never having my coffee cup empty. I do love that!!

This was our first visit for brunch on a Friday afternoon after driving down the mountain from Steamboat Springs. They serve breakfast all day. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was almost full of people having breakfast and lunch. My husband ordered the tall stack of Blueberry Pancakes. There were 3 pancakes with blueberries on top. The packages of butter were already on the table and the dispenser of maple syrup was 1/4 full. I ordered the Alferd Packer Omlette with sauteed mushrooms and avocado. The little slice of avocado was fanned out to make it look bigger. The actual omlette was good. The hashbrowns were shredded. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The Smuckers jelly was already on the table with 3 flavors to choose from. The ketchup was practically empty. They should have refilled the syrup and ketchup . Service was good. She came around several times. But she dropped off the check without asking if we wanted anything else.

Great service and super quick! We were in and out on a Saturday in less than 40 minutes! My husband and I had meals and coffee for about $20! Good food and a good selection on the menu. Will come back next time we're in Summit County.

  • Mehedi S.

New owners are MEAN people! I overheard the man yelling at his employees for no reason except to be a power tripping jerk. From a professional view, this is not how a proper business owner treats the people upholding his establisment. I've been coming here for years and it's sad to see the friendly employees get treated like this. Unacceptable.

  • C. Lynn L.

Searching for a breakfast spot on the way down the mountain we came across this gem. Not only do they have the nicest staff ever, but the food was more than timely and very good! I got the vegetables and hash browns and was a bit hesitant after placing my order thinking the veggies would be the frozen kind over cooked in a microwave. Not the case! Fresh onions, peppers, mushrooms, bright green steamed broccoli and squash. It was all cooked to perfection. The 2 others I was with got the breakfast burrito and chicken fried steak both which were great! They also don't pre butter your toast which is is nice. They let you add what you want how you want it. The OJ was also delicious- not that watery stuff from concentrate either! Just the little things that add up:) We will definitely be back!

  • Darren R.

Not great at all. I had the salmon Benedict and the salmon tasted pretty funky (very fishy, not a good sign). The hollandaise sauce made it tolerable. Service was fast but not very good; I ordered bananas and blueberries on the side and she brought me melons. When I explained that I hadn't ordered melons she looked at me like I was crazy. The coffee tasted like what you get at a gas station. I wouldn't go back.

This diner has so many offerings on their menu that are truly delightful! The breakfast is amazing - the bacon & eggs are so damn good! My husband can't get enough of the Huevos Ranchero! Lunch sandwiches are yummy as well! Staff is always nice. Heads up - this place is crowded on the weekends! #worththewait

It was packed on a Thursday afternoon- host quoted around 20 mins for our party of 6 and ended up being over an hour. We had to keep on going back to check on our status and they had actually forgotten about our party so rushed to seat us at this cramped table. No haters- I used to be a host & server so I try not to be too harsh but I thought that was ridiculous. Also the blonde girl with feather tattoos sat us and had an attitude about it which I thought was strange. Ordered a mimosa and was insulted that it was $4.75 for the smallest glass I've ever seen. My friend ordered a red beer and was charged twice $6 for a side of tomato juice- clearly they didn't understand what she was asking for and seemed out of whack that she was charged $6 twice for a side when we could have bought 3 bottles of tomato juice for that much. The biscuits and gravy were okay- biscuits were pretty dry and not enough gravy. The green chili that came on the huevos rancheros was good and was a nice portion (the only thing that was in the whole place). The hash browns were also tasty. All in all if the service had been better I could have forgave the other blights on our Thursday morning meal but combined with the overcharging of juice and my polly pocket sized mimosa I won't be back.

Best Benedict's in town! Great staff and atmosphere. My favorite breakfast place the summit has to offer

  • Jesse B.

Good food. The host station is very antiquated. I put my name down and was told there would be a wait of 15-20 minutes which is expected on a Sunday morning. As the waiting area was packed I sat outside to read the paper. When I walked in 10 minutes later the hostess had called my name but given away my table as she never came outside or used the microphone they have. It was frustrating as I took a friend there would had never been and I was very excited to show her my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Silverthorne. On this trip I ordered coffee (good but nothing special) and the ski tech with 2 poached eggs. It doesn't come with eggs but they are a minimal up charge. The ski tech comes with 2 sausage patties, hash browns covered in green chili and grated cheddar cheese and a tortilla to sop it all up with. I enjoyed the meal but hope they can improve their system when waiting for a table.

Yum yum. This place was great. First the staff is as friendly as it gets. The locals were also friendly and talkative. If that wasn't enough my breakfast was great. Thank you guys. I will be back

Based on the Yelp reviews, we stopped here this morning on our way back to Kansas from Steamboat Springs. Breakfast was excellent!! I ordered the 3 egg omelet, my husband and son both ordered the chicken fried steak, and my daughter ordered pancakes. Everyone was extremely happy with their meal. Very fast and friendly service and reasonable prices. Especially for the amount of food we received. We will definitely be stopping here again the next time we are in town!

My favorite breakfast in Summit County! The breakfast enchiladas are out of this world! that's the only breakfast that I get, however I've heard their other dishes are great too. Long wait times, so be prepared- however that's every breakfast joint up here :)

Great place for breakfast! Friendly staff, excellent food and great price. Has to be called Sunshine because of the warm smiles on the staff's faces. Will be sure to stop in the next time we are in the area!

Great find! We're on our way back home from the Grand Canyon. Exited the interstate for gas and decided we wanted something other than a chain. Our part had the eggs benedict, French Toast, blueberry pancakes, chicken strips, and huevos Rancheros. Everyone enjoyed their food, and service was great! Viktoria was the nicest server I've met on our 2 week trip! Thanks for a great experience!

This place is awesome for breakfast. I love the fact that they have a vegetarian green chili option which I wish they sold in bulk so I can use some on my own food at home. I like their breakfast burritos much more then I like their pancakes. I got a pancake on the side and the middle was still gooey and not cooked through. But the breakfast burrito made up for the not cooked through pancake. The server was very nice and quick. There is no wait on a weekday. I don't know about the weekend. Was a great place to grab a breakfast while visiting Keystone.

The salmon Benedict was delicious. The vegetarian breakfast burrito with vegetarian green chili was okay but a little too small.

Small town cafe feel. Great service and excellent food. Easy to find right in the town of Dillon, about a ten minute drive from River Run Village. We had breakfast and it was very good, they have a wide variety on the menu.

Any one who gives this place a bad review is wrong. The food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly.

Had breakfast at Sunshine Cafe this morning and really enjoyed our meal. The reason it did not deserve 5 stars is due to the previously frozen hash browns. The Santa Fe omelet was delicious and huge! They also have trout and eggs, which is different and tasty. Prices are pretty standard for this type of breakfast place and you definitely get a lot of food for the money. If you like spicy, try the chorizo!

Just a perfect breakfast café, even the cute twentysomething waitress called me Hon and darling. Usually only get that with the grandmotherly types. She was very attentive refilling coffee and providing superservice. Food is slightly above average for breakfast café good portions, and great selection.whats not to like?

Ok, so Rachel G from GJ definitely was talking about some other restaurant near the "Sunshine Inn". The Sunshine Cafe is awesome though it's not open for dinner. I remember that the last time I ate there, it smelled awesome when I walked in. The food was pretty expensive, but you'll have that around these parts.

Best service in Summit County! The decor is nothing special but it's clean and the food is great. I live here and have never had a bad meal at the Sunshine! Great coffee and they keep it full and hot. Try the trout and eggs!

three of us stopped in for a late morning breakfast/lunch, service was excellent, very friendly waitress, we were seated immediately, no wait. restaurant was clean, reasonably priced and our order was taken and food served quickly, two of us had the soup of the day, a potato, cheese and mushroom soup, it was very tasty, also tried a grilled sandwich--- tomato bacon onion it was delicious--- loved the homemade chips, also tried the biscuits with sausage gravy and it too was very good, place was a bit noisy

Mediocre. Soup was a lumpy cheese mess, sandwiches were onion heavy, salmon was grilled alright but lacked the labeled cajun flavor

I was traveling home after a trip to Denver and stopped by this cafe to grab a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and cooked to order, and the staff was very warm, friendly and inviting. I will be sure to stop back by here on my next trip through the area!

For casual breakfast and lunch, this is as good as it gets in Summit County (which is not known for its dining). The Sunshine's patrons are a combination of locals and visitors. The waiting time to be seated is usually very short or zero. The food is very good, service is excellent, parking is good, and ambience, well.... not much. The new owners are wonderful and will often stop by your table to greet you. But the highlight is the staff - pleasant, courteous, energetic young people who cannot do enough for their customers. As a long-time local, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants.

  • Dennis U.

I've had a couple of lunches here and recently a breakfast. All have been good. Their green chili is quite tasty and my breakfast of the "Lift crew" was a hearty combination of hashed browns green chili and cheese. I was enough to keep me powered up for a day on the river. Worth a stop if your driving through on I 70 or if your in the area.

Many breakfast spots slap basic, hot food on a clean plate (some with a smile) and believe their job is done. Sunshine takes things to the next level, displaying a noticeable degree of love for food. They prepared and presented my tasty first meal of the day in a way that made me want to stick around for lunch.

I can't comment on the food as we never got any. Started out fine for a late breakfast. The restaurant was two thirds full. We were pleasantly greeted and seated and served drinks quickly by the hostess. Then that was it for service. Twenty minutes of watching waiters and waitresses glancing at our table and ignoring us while we watched the rest of the dinners order their meals. Several of those were seated after us. Instead of investing all morning in breakfast there, we decided to just get up and leave. No staff seemed to even notice.

Verypopular place...30 min wait. Even though it was busy, the servers were attentive and quick to respond to requests. I got the basic eggs benny - fluffy and lemony and yummy. I would love to come back next time I'm in the mountains to try the non-breakfast menu. The burgers looked yummy.

I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was wonderful. My girlfriend had the open face special which she said was very good as well. All of the orders I saw on different tables all looked good. The music playing also gave a good vibe for a Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure it was a mix of similar artists including Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Donavon Frankenreiter, Ben Harper and John Mayer. Feel good tunes, great selection when we were there. This was my second time at Sunshine Cafe and the reason we came here on this occasion was because the electricity went out at the Arapahoe Cafe up the hill. As we knew the Sunshine Cafe was good to us before, we had no other choice since the Arapahoe Cafe could not take our orders. It was a very small inconvenience. We were just looking for a casual brunch to get our day started. The Sunshine Cafe was packed the Saturday were were there. A gentleman commented as he was waiting or leaving, not sure, "Oh, they are going to seat you right away. That's great." We must have just missed the rush at 11:00am. The waitresses were all very busy, they didn't seem to stop much, but they sure did a great job with coffee, water and coke refills. As I write this, I start to think about the seasons. I'm sure as most mountain towns, they have a slow down in the summer time and a huge flood of visitors in the winter. As I wrote this May 25th, that is suppose to be the slower of the seasons. The Sunshine Cafe must be busy all the time, I didn't see a slow day here. Thanks Sunshine Cafe for keeping it simple. I'm a fan.

My group of 6 friends were the first ones to sit down; however, waited way too long for the food. The breakfast was pleasant and local, but nothing I would absolutely have to go back for.

This is one of those places that has been around so long they play tapes from the 60s and 70s and you know that they've always had that music going in there. But the interior has been refreshed so it seems retro in a new sort of way. I ordered the wheat cakes. The waitress went out of her way to explain this was NOT pancakes, it was "more like cornbread". Ok, I don't care, I want my whole wheat and I like cornbread too. What came were two gigungous three inch high raised pieces of whole wheat coffee cake with just the cake, no cinnamon, suger, gooey bun effect, just wheat cake. And it was good---I am left wondering how they get that whole wheat so danged light and fluffy. It came sprinkled with fresh blueberries. Gobble gobble gobble, perfect with milk, whole or low fat. Try it. It's good and good for you.

A great little local place well known for their breakfast. Trout and Egg has been my go-to dish; of the times I have branched I recall pancakes were good too. Waitstaff are really friendly, keeping things moving without rushing their customers. Also the waitstaff are getting younger and more "international", I overheard some customers having an interesting conversation with a nice young lady from Ukraine and a Chinese woman she is training. No wonder so many locals like to hang out here.

Still a great place for breakfast. Favorite place in Dillon/Silverthorne, even if it gets busy.

Been here before and will come again! Great food, great service & large portions. Split the the Huevos Rancheros with bacon on the side. Plenty of food. The vegetarian green chili was good, and the pork green chili was better. Coffee was flavorful, hot, and never ending. Very kid-friendly. Decor is like a nice coffee shop. The service polite and prompt. What's not to like?

This place is the Colorado cousin to "the good life" in mammoth... I've been here a few times for breakfast and always enjoy it. Even though it's not huge, I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a seat ever. They have great service--always quick to fill up your coffee and water, and you can get breakfast and be on the slopes with ease. Being a veggie, I gravitate to the "Alfred packer" which has less avocado then I'd like, but is a yummy combo of mushrooms, sprouts (don't totally understand, but it works) and cheese. The hash browns are crispy, and the toast tasty. My meat eating buddies have enjoyed the hash, and other meat omelets. Anyway, it's a solid choice, and a great way to fuel up before a ski day!

Sunshine Cafe has been around for as long as I can remember, easily 20 years, and the locals love it. They are probably better for breakfast than lunch, but I do enjoy the buffalo burger here. The breakfast menu has a very healthy slant to it, especially with the pancakes and the skillets, but they also have my favorite, the Blue River Special, which pretty much piles half the kitchen onto a plate and calls it good. This will fill you up for sure! The menu has a lot of Mexican on it both at breakfast and at lunch, so you can always get that if you are in the mood. Basically there's something for everyone, and I enjoy the entryway to the dining room because it's covered with colored drawings from kids that have eaten there over the years. I'm sure this place will be hopping for a long time to come.

I always have a good breakfast here and visit frequently because it's a family friendly place. It can be busy. If so, hit up the Blue Moon, A-cafe, or Mountain Lion.

We came to Sunshine Cafe from a tip from the barista at Borders across the road. Beware - this place isn't obvious. This is a basic diner / cafe in the mountains. The sort of breakfast place you go to because it's on the way and there isn't anything better. It's nothing fancy, but there is plentiful parking (it's in a strip mall) and it's on the way from Denver to the ski hills. So, if you left early from Denver or you are staying in Silverthorne, this is a pretty good place. There are better places. If you are going to Breck or Copper, stop by the Butterhorn in Frisco, for example. I had the trout and eggs, with a side of green chili. My wife had the salmon benedict, complete with spinach and tomato topped with hollandaise sauce. Both dishes come with hash browns. The one thing that does stand out here is that the fish on both dishes was excellently done, with a soft center, a slightly crispy exterior, good flavor and no lingering bones. The green chili had great flavor, but was very spicy. My wife also enjoyed her benedict, noting the spinach was fresh ad the hollandaise had a slightly lemony flavor that she enjoyed. The bad - the hash browns. They were just so-so. We asked for ours "extra crispy" since we saw a set going past that were very limp. They were barely crispy when they came out, and let's face it - the crispy bits are why you eat them. I'd have preferred another potato option here. As ski resort breakfasts go, this is good, but compared to some in Denver, this is average. It's a 3.5 stars as a result - shame I can't give that.

This was the first restaurant I visited after my no carb cleanse. Their English Muffins are to die for when you haven't had bread in three weeks. Seriously. I hardly ate my eggs and trout. Although the eggs and trout were good as well. Recently, little Mrs. Bone and I re-visited the place when not carb-starved. This time I just got two eggs over easy and toast. Eggs were cooked perfectly, white toast may be the best food ever invented, and my wife's bacon was wonderful. This is a solid spot for breakfast, especially if you're heading to Breck where the only two places in town that serve decent breakfasts may have you waiting for a long time to get in.

Great local restaurant - especially at breakfast... but it's SO GOOD it's always crowded.... work to avoid the crowds, or put your name in early! Favorite dishes are Blueberry Pancake STACK.... and the rice & beans of the day at lunch!

Quick review here. We were headed west on 70 and stopped in for breakfast. Road musicians can be picky about their food but there was nothing to complain about here. Good food, breakfast burritos, breakfast enchiladas and chicken fried steak all tasted great. I could use spicier green chile but then I hang in Abq. Friendly service. We left very satisfied.

This is a convenient breakfast and lunch place off the Silverthorne exit of I-70. I've been here several times and it's perfectly fine diner fare, but doesn't stand out at all if I compare it to some typical Boulder or Denver breakfast places. I'll def update this review in the future if I end up discovering some standout menu items. Eggs and meat and carbs were fine, green chile was enjoyable, and service usually pretty quick and basic. Downfalls for me were that french toast have been soggy in the middle 2 out of 2 times ordered, and white bread toast served is pretty low quality. I've only been off-peak times, so was lucky never to wait for a table. Other places to go for mornin' eats I know of are in Breck or Frisco (or resort hotel buffets), but this seems to be one of the few options in/around the Dillon/Silverthorne sprawl.

The atmosphere this morning was friendly and pleasant. The menu is creative, and offers a number of good breakfast choices. The wait staff was willing to accommodate odd requests without a bit of hesitation, and that was reflected in the tip. This was the perfect place to stop prior to hitting the slopes. That being said, I get the impression that the locals come here to eat more-so than tourists like myself.

My wife and I ate breakfast here two mornings before skiing. It's nice when the waitress remembers you and brings the coffee right over. We both ate hearty breakfasts that kept us going while skiing until after the lunch rush was over. Service was prompt and very reasonably priced. Oh and I highly recommend the french toast with blueberries (sorry, I can't remember it's name).

Great American breakfast! Plan to wait for seating on the weekends! Service is great.

I dunno. Blame the economy or something, but you'd be hard pressed to get a meal with a coffee for less than 10 bucks here. Keeping that in mind, the food they offered definitely wasn't worth it, but it was tasty, though. I had this breakfast burrito with beans, bacon, and cheese topped with green chili. That mixed in with some has browns, it was pretty satisfying. One caveat, however, was that the description said shredded pork green chili, but 2 pieces of pork does not a pork green chili make. The fiance just wasn't happy with her omelet, especially because it was also a recommendation from the waitress. The service was attentive and friendly. Maybe some of the other more unique dishes may have made me like this place more, but alas.

Jim and the staff are amazingly friendly and the food is always Delish. We love the Sunshine and recommend it with two enthusiastic thumbs up!

The food was disapointing for being "the best breakfast in the county" I ordered a special with a number of different items, and they varied from mediocre to poor. A number of our group of 4 ordered meals that included cheese, and the cheese wasn't even half melted.

Great breakfast selection! Lots of variety, including healthy options. I had a short stack of the wheat cakes with a side of sausage links, and I was HAPPY. The wheat cakes are thick, like corn bread, served in about 3 to 4inch squares. The short stack comes with two of these squares sprinkled with powdered sugar. They are dense and filling -- I ended up taking the second square home and eating it for lunch. The chorizo benedict was a big hit with my SO, and his dad enjoyed the daily special which contained some combination of toast, avocado, eggs, hollandaise sauce, and breakfast meat. We had about a 15-minute wait at 10:30am on a Saturday, which is not half bad from where I stand. I would definitely send my friends back here if they were in the area.

This is a great little breakfast place in Silverthorne. I actually found it through Yelp and decided to check it out. There are ample vegetarian options on this menu. The food was served quickly and all the veggies in my breakfast burrito were crisp and fresh. I'll definitely stop by here again the next time I'm in the area.

I've never eaten a better Eggs Benedict with Salmon - great cafe!

This is an inexpensive cafe if you're looking for breakfast or lunch while in the mountains. It's in an easy-to-get-to spot and parking is never a problem. Because of its convenience, there may be a line out the door during the breakfast rush. But most breakfasts on the menu are under $10, in fact many are actually under $8. And I love a cheap bloody mary - only $4.50, served in a pint glass with a chunky salt rim and chock full of veggies! Just how I prefer 'em. I liked the #1, an omelette with mushrooms, avocado (inside rather than outside which made it super creamy), sprouts (on top for a little crunch) and cheese served with hashbrowns and toast. My friends liked their bacon omelette and veggie benedict. Service was fast and friendly even with the constant rotation of tables and busy, crowded entrance area. Nothing fancy, but you won't leave feeling like you blew all your mountain money for the day just on breakfast alone.

Nice look place, very quaint. Seem to be very popular but I'm not really sure why. The prices are way too high for the amount of food I received. Got the enchiladas and they were very small, with a small thing of rice (instant rice at that, I mean, really, for $9 I expect real rice) and nothing else. The green chile was bland with not much chile in it. If you want real food drive to Frisco and stop at Butterhorn Bakery. That's a real cafe...

Great breakfast place in Silverthorne. Gluten-free French toast was a nice surprise for a celiac in our group. Friendly staff, good service, and great food!

We were so happy to discover this little gem just off of the highway. We have a difficult time traveling as we are vegan and I have to limit my food to gluten-free options. The staff here were wonderful and helped me to find something I could order with these diet restrictions. I had the veggie burrito made with white corn tortillas and vegetarian green chili. The chili had just the right kick and was freshly made. We will be back every time we travel along I-70!

As with most people, I stopped here before hitting the slopes one morning. It's a pretty good breakfast place and the place was clean, but the service was average and there is nothing that distinguishes the food from Denny's or IHOP. I had the chicken fried steak and scrambled eggs, and my brother had the French Toast and extras. We were both satisfied but not at all blown away. Also, I was a little pissed that the OJ was clearly made from concentrate, and not fresh squeezed, as the menu says. There a probably plenty of other options in Summit County that could match or best this place.

Great breakfast and lunch. Open till 3. Prices are decent $6-$9 for breakfast about the same for lunch. The food is consistently good and the service as well. This is my favorite breakfast place in Summit.

Not fancy, but everything was tasty, hot, and arrived promptly. I was pleased that the ham in my omelet was real chunks of ham, not just chopped up deli slices.

I have been to this cute little place more than a few times while staying in Silverthorne and I gotta say, though the food isn't amazing and the wait can be a pain in the arse, they get 4 stars for the awesome waitstaff and for making my tummy happy after ripping up some snow for the day! Everytime I have been in, no matter how crazy the crowds, the server has always been chipper, friendly and totally on-game. Yeah, it's not a gourmet breakfast and yes, it's not the cheapest...BUT, it's better than chain-restaurant junk that is being served all around Silverthorne. It has a great local feel despite being swamped with out-of-towner winter sport enthusiasts and definitely hits the spot when your tummy starts a growlin'.

Great local place for breakfast. The crowd is authentic and the food is quite good. The coffee could stand a reworking, but it was cafe authentic (with that mild taste of sitting on heat for too long). Portions are relatively hefty and the omelets are especially tasty. Throughout the day a number of craft and local brews are also available, keeping in the spirit of a good, local cafe.

Delicious food and good service. We went there twice in March of 2005. Eggs, bacon, waffles, hashbrowns... what's not to like. Can cater to the more healthy of us as well.

Easy laid back folks, awesome food, reasonable price, and a "locals" vibe. Another great place for weekend breakfast or lunch when up in the Dillon/Frisco/Silverthorn/Breck area.

Years and years and years ago I ate at the Sunshine Cafe and I still remember it as one of the best meals I have ever had. If I recall correctly I had an egg sandwich with sprouts. It was seriously something I think I will remember forever. Great place and can't wait to go back on my next trip!
