The last time I visited Country Buffet, I was disappointed on their limiting some of their food items. So I decided to try Golden Corral, On 3677 S. Santa Fe, as their advertisement on TV looked interesting. I decided to take my girlfriend as an accomplice for this experiment, paid and proceeded to our table before getting food. She couldn't help but notice how worn out and tired everything looked. I thought I would keep my mind open, as the food value what it was all about. I kind of did an overview of the the food area as I was on my way to wash my hands in the bathroom. The food looked OK, & I continued towards the bathroom. Big mistake! When I open the door to the men's bathroom, there was a smell of urine immediately. It was filthy! It looks like it hadn't been cleaned at least for the last 8 hours there was toilet paper and paper towels everywhere. And did I mention the smell of urine? Unbelievable. I washed my hands (I probably should have gone and asked for a refund immediately!!!! ) I continued with the experiment.... tried sampling the meats, vegetables, and salads and... the food was ok. Then I made the mistake of walking up to the dessert bar! There in front of the Limitless chocolate fountain was a little kid probably 4 years old. He had two fingers stuck up both sides of his nose while his dad was standing there with him. The father then pick the kids up, And put the kid under the sneeze guard. The kid proceeded to touch 10 to 15 of the marshmallows and other Dipping items with his snot- covered fingers. The father didn't do a thing... let the kid pick up a Couple of marshmallows out of the entire bunch that he had booger fingered And continuing to finger it with his little booger fingers, and then put it on a little fork. The kid then stuck The booger-infected marshmallow-on-a-fork into the warm chocolate Fountain, spreading his little booger germs to Those that followed. And the father let the kid do that! Do not use the Desert area of the Golden Corral or somebody is going to eventually get sick. The Colorado Department of Health needs to know what's going on with this operation, but you need to, so as least protect you and your family. Will not be eating here again!!! OH well, Back to Country Buffet . At least that place was clean!

It's a buffet, not a five-star steakhouse. That said, I find that the food quality at Golden Corral is consistently good. I appreciate Golden Corral because they serve fresh vegetables instead of canned or frozen. They make the mashed potatoes from scratch, not from powder. I wish there were self-serve drinks because sometimes we have to wait for refills. The last time I was there, there was a very disorganized silverware/plate section. Occasionally, I've found a plate in the stack that wasn't entirely clean. Mistakes can happen, especially in a buffet. However, if you compare the food quality and overall experience at Golden Corral to the nearest competition (initials C.B.), Golden Corral comes out looking like a five-star steakhouse. Choose Golden Corral when you have a large, hungry group that doesn't want to wait for food or for service or just when you can't decide on what you want to eat. There's plenty of variety here, and most of it is tasty.

Wish Yelp had a zero star rating, as Golden Corral doesn't deserve one star. The food tasted like 3 day old, reheated leftovers. The worse part of my experience was that I became vey ill within a short time, had diarrhea, which progressed to bloody diarrhea with severe stomach cramping. I alerted the Tri County health Department to file a food borne illness report, I called the Manager, who was unsympathetic, and said it couldn't be food poisoning (is he a Dr when not managing the restaurant?). When corporate didn't call me back, but I persisted, I finally spoke with someone that informed me these are all franchises, owned separately. I did speak to the owner, Fang, who said he would refund our $29.00 for me and my sons, but that has not happened yet. I feel that they didnt take my illness seriously and I will never eat here again.

Wife got sick from the rotisserie chicken. Luckily I didn't have chicken. Steak was fairly good everything else seemed to be ok, just a bit unsanitary overall. Should have read reviews before going in.

There is a wide variety of food. That is the only good thing. Before you go there . . . think SALT. I tasted salt in every food I ate except maybe the salad. I had an aftertaste of salt after almost every bite. Much more than the normal restaurant. I had to drink a lot of water after I got home.

I like this location of Golden Corral.one of the weekends we went here since Hubs was craving to eat a buffet.yes the portions are huge if you want all you can eat.the restaurant was indeed kept clean.

We wanted to go to the buffet and decided upon this location instead of others because the reviews were a little better. We went on a Saturday night around 8:30 and it was busy but not overly crowded. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was good considering the place. Some stuff was better then others. It seemed like a lot of trays were low on their food item. The place was clean and the staff made sure to clean a table and vacuum once it was empty again. It was about $11 per person for a meal. Not sure how much drinks were. We would come back here again...

What can you write about a Golden Corral? It's like reviewing a McDonalds...you know what you are getting and they do what they do well. The only problem is that what they do is medium quality buffet food.

This place reminds me of my grandparents. They always loved to go to these kinds of restaurants. When writing this review I cannot give a full review as I am vegetarian and did not eat any of the meat which my friends tell me is what makes this place great. But other than the meat there were alot of options. There are way more options here then at Country buffet. Loved the cut carrots (even though they took the healthy out of them by dosing them in butter,) This place does not scream healthy but it does scream deal. For lunch it is $8.60 without a soda. They have food from all over including Mexican, Chinese and American. They also have a ton of desserts including cakes and jello. So it's okay meaning I probably won't go back until I go with someone older.

I Came here expecting some delicious food and delicious soup, that was not it at all .The clam chowder was spoiled and absolutely disgusting the cheese broccoli cheddar soup had skin over it and it was all throughout the soup .chicken noodle soup was only thing decent .I had to ask for nachos cuz they weren't even set out the steak burgers were extremely dry ,and the sweet yams were like eating pure sugar I do not recommend coming here at all ! I talk to the manager and he only gave me one free meal for next time I don't even think I want to come back and by the way there was two of us eating the same gross food.

The food is ok. The crowds are crazy. Kids running around because of terrible parents. Dont cound on the all you can eat wings because they cant keep up. I wanted only wings and was able to get about 5 in the hour i was there. I will not waist my time again.

Oh, it's fine for what it is. Yes, there's gluttony. Loud kneebiters. Old people. Large people. Whatever. You're at a buffet. Expect that (and worse) or don't go. Nobody is forcing you in the door.

My wife and I were in recently and were quite disappointed. I used to enjoy eating there but the last several visits have really turned us off. I realize it was late into lunch on a Saturday but the place was a wreck. The salad bar was destroyed, hot food was cold, much of it empty, and the dessert section was just plain nasty. No point in trying to get anything from the grill as there was nothing on it and no one working it. The women's restroom was just plain gross, the men's wasn't great either. I can't imagine recommending to anyone, probably won't be back.

It's a Buffett... Self serve duh! BUT we sat in Jessica's section, if there's more then one she has blonde hair :) she made me feel like it was full service! Better service then I've had at a full service done in restaurant. I'm a server my self and she WORKS hard! Food was great buffet food... If you come by ask for her section!

Staff was helpful and nice. Food was hot and not looking like it's was there all day When no one can make up their mind where to go this is the place that is sure to please

I try to eat healthy, I really do. Occasionally, I succumb to fast food or the random buffet. But, this is one place I never, ever succumb to, anymore. You guys, the food is really bad. Like, sadly, woefully, wretchedly bad. Maybe I'm just uber critical of lines and lines of fried (usually over or under fried), battered foods. And, big batches of crap like mac and cheese (heavy on butter, light on cheese), mashed potatoes, sliced potatoes, au gratin potatoes, baked potatoes, hash browns...you getting the picture? This is a place to go if nothing else in the city is open. This is a place to go if your doctor tells you that you're dangerously underweight. This is a place to go if you just love the sound of screaming children. This is a place to go if you like the look of dazed people slouched over tubs of heavily caloric and fat laden foods, eager for their next fix. Honestly, the whole place - food, atmosphere, crowd - freaks me out a little. Country Buffet isn't much better, but it IS better. Go there, instead.

  • Kristin H.

The workers there were very nice. The food was really good. The only thing I was confused on was the servers. I get my own food but then felt obligated to tip the server after already paying 30 dollars for me and my husband to eat. But all in all a very nice family oriented place to eat

    (4)
  • Cielo G.

Maybe a little better than other locations, but still the same menu. Manageable if you stick with salad, but $11 for dinner is too much for the lack of quality. Had to go with an older couple in their 70s; thus, the reason I stepped through the door.

One things positive to say- our waitress was very sweet and hardworking. However, the food made my dad and I sick, and the restaurant was dirty. A cook left a door open to the kitchen and there was food on the ground and the trash was overflowing. It did not look anywhere near a sanitary working/ cooking environment. If the look wasn't enough, the food tasted like it had been microwaved. Although I got a wide selection of food, including rice, salad, chicken, pork, dinner roll, ext., the food either tasted awful or too greasy. The deserts were no better. The buffet station was filthy and poorly managed while the deserts looked sketchy and tasty as bad as they looked. I do not recommend this location.

I was looking thru my Reviews, and it happened that I "forgot" to review this establishment. We went here after running some errands. That afternoon was on Sunday February 15th 2015. Time was about 13:00hrs ish. Man at that time, this establishment is PACKED TO THE BRIM. Maybe coz its the PEAK LUNCH HOURS for the WEEKENDS. Since Hubs is so hungry, we just settled to have our Lunch here. * 2 ADULT DINNER BUFFET each was ($11.99) * 2 SOFT Drinks each was ($2.19) Hence our Lunch with tax was $30.86. Ooohh not forgetting, I think during that period of time we were there, they were giving out the FREE DINNER ROLLS that Hubs like it a lot! YES, its DOABLE for Hubs appetite. But I think to return its a maybe but NOT in a hurry. We may explore other Golden Corral locations across Colorado Soil. The person who handled our transaction, if I am not mistaken her name is Wendy R. YES, it takes awhile to even go through the line to pay at the Counter First, collect your Beverages, then the staffs will ushered you to the available seats for your Party. All in all OK Lunch. As long Hubs is happy, I am happy. GOLDEN CORRAL the one located in SHERIDAN, CO GOLDEN CORRAL Store #2604 3677 S. SANTE FE DR. SHERIDAN, CO 80110 Tel : (303)-643-5898 @64/2015

Well I definitely just gave myself the shits later.. Went to Golden Corral for the first time with minimal expectations yet I was shocked at my dissatisfaction. The food was lukewarm at best and I ate maybe a quarter of each serving. I was soo baked I should have eaten all of that shit. The smell was the worst. Like a dumpster that reeked, but the other patrons didn't mind, real quality there too. The restaurant gets a 0 but our server Kristen gets 4.5 stars because I would definitely pork her, and it wasn't even pork night! The only good thing was that my water was cold, but thats because I put ice in it. P.S. We found buggers in the napkin holder.

So I don't think I can tell you the last time I've been to a Golden Corral. I can also tell you WHY I haven't been to a Golden Corral in a long time. I had my niece who is going through a growing stage and so she eats quite a bit and I refuse to buy her a bunch of burgerse from a fast food place or something becasue that just can't be healthy and I also don't want to take her to a fancy place because she is picky and she complains and would probably want the most expensive thing on the menu so no Broker for her. Anyways we go to Golden Corral and it's kinda busy but for a Saturday night not so much and the girl who was at the front wasn't even paying attention until I said 3 please. And then she looked at me as if I was bothering her. She asked if we were getting soda and I kinda felt like saying "No but I'm holding this glass with soda for someone else..." she told us to find a seat but antother girl told us to wait until she sat us so once that was all settled we sat in a very uncomfortable booth and went to eat. I tried a little of everything but my turkey was dry and so was my green bean casserol and the potatoes. My steak was alright but cold she ate battered shrimp and french fries but said her shrimp was cold and so was her pizza. The girl who "waited" on us was really intrucive. She was at our table every 2 minutes asking if we had plates or if we needed drinks and it was like "no I just sat down with this plate can I eat anything?" it was really annoying. The rolls were good but I think it's just safer to not go to buffets like this unless you have a very hungry pre-teen

The best thing I can say about Golden Corral is that it is WAY BETTER than Country Buffet. About the same fare, and as previous reviewers have said, a mix of good and bad. The pot roast is fantastic and the popcorn shrimp were surprisingly good, but the rest of the meats are hit and miss. The salad and desert bars are expansive but the offerings are not terribly imaginative. If your for breakfast, they've got a pretty darn good menudo. Overall, a good value for the money and a great alternative if you're in the mood for home cookin' but dont want to do said cookin' yourself.

The parking lot is always full and the commercials are amusing so we were expecting the best buffet in town. We should have known when we saw a pile of puke in the parking lot...and then again when we saw the $11/per person price tag. The salads were ok, pretty watery, honestly it was the highlight of the meal though. We then moved on to entrees, I started with Mexican food, the beans were watered down and the taco meat was under seasoned and super greasy. My hubby went for a wide selection of weird stuff. The cheese on the pizza wasn't melted, they put fresh broccoli on top of the old stuff, the random sausage was icky, the only thing on his plate that was acceptable was the popcorn shrimp, mostly breading with a tiny itty bitty shrimp in it but it was fried nicely :) The ice cream was off color and a strange consistence, the machine itself was oozing with grossness. The carrot cake was OK, the frosting was funny tasting, the apple pie was apple mush. Overall this place was gross, dirty, and over priced!

  • Nick B.

OK. So this place is kind of weird everything tastes the same and is over salted. My kid, loves it, they got him hooked on the cotton candy crack and the chocolate fountain. Not surprisingly chocolate covered gummy bears are not half bad, they are all bad. He originally named this place "the peach place" because he could eat as many peaches as he wanted for $6, which is healthy but expensive, so I was reluctantly for it. As he got older he found the ice cream, cotton candy and gummy bears, so now it's just as bad for him as McDonalds. We always end up eating too much, it's hard to get out of there for less than $40 and they gouge you a little extra for drinks, so to be honest I would not recommend eating here. Ahh the things we will do for our kids.

I like this Golden Corral and its close to 2 light rail stations inbetween them is more like it. Oxford and Englewood Station. I went a little before Dinner and still recieved the Lunch price. The server acknowledged me right away and took my drink order. But it did take her a while to bring me my Sierra Mist then she realized she forgot and apologized a few times and made it right. After that the Customer Service was above par. The Food Stations were always stocked. The Bathrooms were clean. Never had to wait to have a plate picked up or my soda refilled. Even during shift change the new Server came over and greeted herself. No Complaints and i will be back.

Yes, I'm fat. And Amanda is wrong. The obesity epidemic has various causes, though accessibility to copious amounts of fried foods may contribute. But I have a question for Amanda. What were you doing at a buffet in the first place? You sound like a member of a prohibitionist group who walks into a bar to eat their pickled eggs and who, upon looking around, is shocked to see alcohol. It doesn't sound like your kind of place. Go to one of the salad bar restaurants instead. I do (and prefer them actually). Anyway, enough of that. The food is delicious and plentiful, with lots of veggie offerings. From the salad bar to just before the dessert bar, you can have fresh carrots cooked or not cooked in various styles until they came out your ears. This is actually one of the few restaurants I know of that serves one of my favorite veggies, brussel sprouts. The only negative for any veggie was the asparagus. Boiled. Meh! The restaurant is laid out more like a Las Vegas-style "action" buffet. It was easy to negotiate each station, all of which are laid out lengthwise across one wall of the building. Seating is easy to find. And they do something I think is crucial for buffet restaurants these days: they have antiseptic lotion by where you pick up plates and utensils. Nice. I fell in love with the wok-prepared Chinese dishes. They were succulent, though heavy on the chicken. They also had many broiled or griddled (sans fat) offerings. And, of course, there were some seriously delicious and deadly fried foods, including, if you can believe this, calamari (for lunch! I know! Unbelievable!) Price wise, it's about the same as Country Buffet (though with lots more offerings). You pay separately for a drink. All totaled with a drink, weekday lunch is under $10.00. But friends, seriously, Amanda is right. We only went there because it was my sister's birthday and she wanted to try it. Have a salad instead. Because if you eat like this every day of the week, it will kill you. Amanda, seriously though, your cracks about overweight people were out of line. You should fall on your knees and thank the higher power of your choice that you don't have 100 different weight-regulating chromosomes misfiring 24/7, compelling you to eat fat, sugar, and salt. It's more of a horror than you will ever know, thankfully.

I was surprised of this place...thought it would be absolutely horrible but it was any worse then any buffets. Variety of foods to choose from. Had fresh shrimp and scallops available for sauteing. Even had cotton candy. Went here for an event so unsure of pricing, but I didn't expect too much so was not disappointed.

Good food for a good price. $11 for all you can eat. I like to go here when I can.

Just what you'd expect for this kind of place -- some bad and some good. Amazing selection. I'd go back. There's plenty to choose from so you don't have to eat anything you don't like.

  • G C.

GROSS!!!! I'm not that fussy, but this place is filthy. I watched the employees take tongs that had handles dropped in the food take that bin and dump the contaminated food into the fresh vat of food. When they were out of cranberry sauce for the roast turkey, the manager checked and 15-20 minutes later, came back to tell me he couldn't find any. (I could, at the target 200 yards away...take $5 from the till and go get some!) The tables aren't being cleared, and the shakers aren't washed....they're tacky with grime. The staff sits right outside the front door and smokes. Food is poorly prepared, and other than one of the breads and the cinnamon flavored margarine there's nothing special here. Go elsewhere. You'll get sick eating here. Never going back.

Yuk I had better food & service in the mess hall when I was in the army. I wish I could give no stars. I will say it is a great place to go the night before a colonoscopy.

  • Redwing T.

This place has really went down hill ! The Food was either over cooked or under cooked , not as clean as it should be for a restaurant .not all the food items had tongs so people were using their fingers . Adults were letting kids eat from the food trays at the food stations and workers were not saying a word to them . Seemed like there was only 2 people busing tables a man & a woman and they were the BEST !! part of this place . He had short brn hair /glasses and straws in his shirt pocket and she had short black hair and they( ROCKED !!!! those 2 should be the managers) The others in our section ( by the deserts) spent most of their time complaining about the job . This place really needs new management !!!! i would like to give this place a minus 5 stars !! patrons just let their kids do and act how ever they felt like . this is one time maybe the customer isn't always right . GOLDEN CORRAL ,if you enforce some policy's yes you may loose a few customers like the ones that let the kids run wild and that dont really care about other diners but on the flip side you will get your restaurant back under control . and keep people like my self that likes a variety of foods,a clean place to dine is courteous and tips the staff and will recommend you to others . maybe you can take a field trip to COUNTRY BUFFET ! and see how they are trying to correct their mistakes from the past . AND THEY ARE DOING A VERY GOOD AT IT . my wife and i dont always eat buffet ! unless she wants breakfast and i want lunch ! but when we do we choose country buffet ! and not waste our money at the golden ghetto !!!

Haven't eaten at a Golden Corral since I moved to the south suburbs 5 years ago. I finally made it to this one (a little far for a regular visit) and I was not disappointed! I loved the one in Thornton, and I loved this one. Often at buffets, I struggle to find anything that looks good This time, I wanted a little of almost everything but of course had to just choose just what I could actually eat! Hope to try some of the other items next time and there will be a next time! Thanks for not disappointing! Love those rolls!

This place was a zoo. It was packed so obviously some people like it however I don't know why. The food is way overcooked. Potatoes are super lumpy. The way they herd you in as you enter is a mess. It is too expensive for the quality of the food. My 7 year old doesn't even want to go back. I do have to say that I loved the ice cream - but that was it! If you are looking for this type of resteraunt I suggest Country Buffet - cheaper prices, better quality food and a lot nicer atmosphere!

I went here two weeks ago, even though I am not a fan of buffets. I thought the service was a little slow and the people that were in there I swear were camping out for hours until they got hungry again. For two of us we paid almost 30 bucks, so I would much rather go to a regular sit-down for that price..

I only go here because my friend like this place and I can eat whatever I want. The food was not that great today. I usually end up filling up on tea and salad.

Okay yes this is not 4 star dining. I was expecting heat lamped food, and all the other things that normally go along with a buffet like this. Now before I delve into the issues we saw JUST TODAY, let me say some positives: - Cashier at front was attentive and polite. She tried to help us but nobody helped her when she needed it. - Our waiter was semi polite and did eventually do his job. - I did find some things that were appetizing that I did enjoy eating. Okay now let's let the bad news buffet proceed! 1. There were no damn trays at the beginning for ANYBODY. My friend, who insisted we go there (she really loves the place) asked the cashier about it. The cashier stopped what she was doing, and went to ask a guy behind the food counters to please get trays in her area. He was chubby and had blondish hair and a beard and a hat on. He RUDELY and SARCASTICALLY told her Yeah, Whatever, like we'll Get RIGHT TO THAT. NOT! I don't know whether that is his duty or not, but that kind of response, especially in full view and earshot of 10+ customers is inexcusable. He didn't appear to have his hands full to me, but she clearly did, with a line of people waiting on her. So, I myself went and asked 3 other employees where the trays were and finally the 3rd one said they were at the attendants stations. I had no idea where that was and then had to basically make him escort me all the way to the far end of the restaurant to get a tray. I mentioned to him then thank you but seriously, these need to be stocked by the cashier as nobody has trays coming in. He didn't do anything about that. I then mentioned that to our waiter as well, and he didn't stock them either. So ALL of them except her get a solid F for helping the customer on this one, especially the rude ass in the hat. Trays need to be ready. Duh. People do not enjoy carrying multiple dishes in their hands and arms. 2. We chose a table in the side area, and the room -gasp- had no air conditioning. Come on, really? It's late spring / early summer. To be fair AC was on in the rest of the place. 3. After the main course we were ready for desert (still nobody had trays 30 mins later). So I went to the ice cream machines and saw, first of all 2 poor elderly ladies struggling with the ice cream machines. The one on the left had its vanilla broken, only vomiting out one hard vanilla chunk in her bowl and nothing else. Then she tried the machine on the right for that vanilla, and got STRAWBERRY!!! No labels marking them off as not working, no attempt by anyone to fix it there and come on, you can't tell me people hadn't told them that. Now they are inconveniencing more customers, particularly elderly customers who probably don't have as easy a time as the rest of us pulling levers and negotiating these things. My impression from this visit is the owners, and general manager, nowhere to be seen, couldn't care less or give a damn about our experience. I am calling to make them aware of this review and my experience and will update what happens. UPDATE: I did call and speak to the owner, Fang. He was conciliatory and agreed to comp my friend's next meal (I'm not interested for myself). He said the AC had been repaired since we left, and he knew a wrong lever was put on the right side ice cream machine, and he would see to it trays were provided and he reviews attitude with staff. I will always try and be fair and put their side of things in my review. I guess my friend will see if they fixed these things on her next visit.

This place is terrible, little kids were having the food with their hands and kicking the chocolate wonderful, when I told an employee to put a stop to it, she told me "they're just kids". There was a dirty tray where banana pudding once was...it was there for the entire time I was there (unfortunately almost an hour). This was my first and last trip to any golden corral.

Came here on Veteran's day. Not expecting much quality and the forks were dirty because of all the traffic. Their steak is actually decent depending on if it's fresh or not.

Where to even start? How about food: It is actually ok for a buffet type place, the variety is alright and some of it was even good. So why the 2 star? I'd give it one if it weren't for the food. From stacks of dirty dishes on tables, worker girl too "busy"cleaning up to be polite on a Sunday morning to the fact that they use WHISK BROOMS to sweep up debris off the carpet around the serving areas. Have you ever tried to sweep anything with a whisk broom off carpet? What does it do? It bounces like a sugared up kid on a trampoline. Where does it land? Your guess is a good as mine but the laws of probability say there is floor granola landing on the serving bar. I pointed this out to a manager/owner and he argued that it was the best way to clean. I bet he doesn't eat there. I can't rank too much on the caliber of people that go there but it's a lot like watching "the people of Wal-Mart" eat. If you must go, try to sit in the far back on the left side of the resturant, keep your eyes averted at all time and watch out for floor granola.
