Fantastic sushi at great prices! Been going for years and have never been disappointed.

I actually live in the same neighborhood as Jun and as we were building our home I met him and his family- Nice people, nice family.... GREAT food. My fiancee took me to the restaurant as a surprise date night (me a sushi loving fool) and we sat at the sushi bar to which they entertained us- The wait staff was prompt and had a great demeanor, the only reason this review is not a five star is that the pricing was a little on the higher end than I was accustomed to. All in all it was worth the extra money and we have been back several times without any other experience than GREAT!

Best sushi in Parker. A local favorite.

This is definitely NOT a bad place to eat but I couldn't find anything that will justify 4 or 5 starts rating like I've seen here. We had a few sushi rolls, seaweed salad and teriyaki beef. All was OK, maybe even above average but not much more. The beef took a long time to prepare and although my wife asked for it to be cooked medium, it was well done. The "large" seaweed salad portion is tiny. Not even close to being considered large by any standard. The sushi rolls were all good and the presentation was nice. There are other dishes on the menu that look interesting, maybe we should have tried those. Our waiter was a nice guy and very friendly, but he was a little out of focus. For example, he seated us and then forgot to bring the menus... But I wouldn't hold this against the place just thought I should mention it. I hope it's a one time thing. Overall we had a good lunch at reasonable prices so I would definitely recommend this place if you're in a mood for Japanese. Just don't expect anything spectacular.

Great sushi, comfortable and upbeat atmosphere. You're greeted with all the chefs saying "Hello!" or something like that in Japanese. And you get a loud "Goodbye" when you leave, so a bit of acceptable silliness puts a grin on your face. The sashimi is top-notch. Regular Nigiri is Ok. The house rolls are fun, I recommend the Phoenix. Sort of pricey, but as I always say, you pay for what you get and here at Junz you get good quality for the location. Definitely recommended for the finicky sushi eater in your family. The map on Yelp is incorrect, so go to the Junz website for directions. It's by the SuperTarget on Twenty Mile Road.

Consistent quality, excellent customer service. This is my favorite place for Sushi in the SE Denver Metro Area. However, you definitely pay for what you get, and you pay dearly here to get top-notch sushi. Also, the maître d' always reminds me of Steven Seagal (which is a plus).

Best Sushi in Denver Metro. Staff is very friendly. If you can get a seat at the Sushi Bar do! Favorite Roll- Volcano. Make a reservation because it is one of the best restaurant s in town.

This place has alway been great. The staff are very kind and the good is fantastic. Not a tone of seating so sometimes a bit cramped.

I have a lot of favorite restaurants...but this one is so amazing and may just be #1 for me. I can't believe we waited almost a year to try this place. My husband ordered sushi and I had the Lobster Risotto. It tasted so good I didn't want to eat it because I didn't want it to be gone. The service was okay...not great but didn't change my mind. It is a little pricey so we will save it for special occassions.

The most upscale sushi in Parker. Junz has a friendly staff and usually a place at the sushi bar. Their selection of sashimi is usually good and the staff is very friendly. They also offer things like yellow tail collar, salads and full dinners. They have a full bar but be aware Friday or Saturday between 6-8 is usually very busy.

Junz is my top sushi spot now that Mikuni closed. I can not say enough good things about Junz. It is where we go on birthdays and when one of my best friends comes into town it is always a must go to place. The inside is much more casual than the trendy sushi places but it is still much classier than most strip mall sushi joints. You are always warmly greeted when you walk in. It can get busy with families but I have found if you go a little early or a little late you don't run into all the families that usually take up the bigger tables. They have a decent sized sushi bar so usually you can find a spot there if you are solo. The food is top notch. I have tried quite a few things on the menu so I will give you a run down of my favorites. Drink: Dissorono and sprite. Apps: The seafood dynamite is delicious and perfect for two people to split. It isn't really going to fill you up or be enough for more than a couple people to share but man is it one of those kind of apps where the boy and I are fighting over the last bite. Their calamari is also really good. It has a much thinner lighter breading than most places so you taste more of the meat than the breading. Non-sushi: The risotto is amazing. Don't worry about inviting your lame friend who doesn't get sushi. Everyone can find something yummy here. Sushi: I always find something I love on the sushi menu. The fish is fresh, the rolls stay together well and they are a decent size if not on the large side. If you aren't getting the Phoenix roll you aren't really living. It is always the roll on our plate that everyone wants to know what is. The volcano is very similar but not quite as delicious. We always order both so we don't feel like weirdos for ordering two phoenix rolls. The Rock n' roll, crunchy, and spicy tuna are also favorites of mine. Prices are a little spendy but on par or a little lower than I would expect for the quality of sushi. The boy and I usually get an appetizer and 5 rolls mostly the deluxe rolls and we walk out for around $80 with tip.

If this was in Denver, it still deserves a solid 4 stars. Price is reasonable and the sushi portion is huge. All the fish pieces are fresh and you can see it if sitting at the sushi bar. Try the Volcano Roll, deep fried and flamed in front of you. They also have great tasting culinary dishes like Escargot and Calamari Steak. Located in Target shopping center.

If you want to go out for a wonderful dinner in Parker there is only one place to go. That is Junz, they have wonderful Fusion Asian and great Sushi. The host, Tadashi (sp?), is a local philanthropic artist and has a lot of his art work on display there. I really enjoy going here and am willing to put up with a bit higher than average prices for the atmosphere, comfort and proximity.

Yum Yum. Can't get enough. We go here at least once a month and still love it. Best in the Parker area by far. Damn - now I need to go eat some Junz sushi right now.

  • Eric D.

To call this place a sushi place is kind of an injustice. This place is a lot more than just great sushi. They have very excellent Japanese fusion items. The sea bass is outstanding, and the mussels are also a hit. I must be truthful however that ive only eaten small bites of these items from other people, as I am a sushi die hard. And this place delivers. Very fresh items. Fresh maguru, Otoro, and unagi, uni, tako, and one of the best tamago omelet ever. But truth be told, ever since I moved from Parker to Lone Tree, Sonodas has served me just as well.

Had lunch there today and it was a terrible experience. Our waiter was not good. He took our order, dropped off our food and never checked back to ask how our food was, never refilled waters, never came by whatsoever. My tempura was cold and old tasting, but I never had the opportunity to send it back since our waiter (a male) was too busy bs-ing with other employees rather than tending to his tables. Both my dining buddy and I were out of water 1/2 way through our meal, but he never once came by. Finally after sitting there for over an hour, we needed to leave. I had to ask other employees to hunt this moron waiter down to get our check. I asked him if it's common practice for him to not check in on his tables or refill waters and he grunted a pathetic apology to me but offered me nothing for my crappy food/service. This place is overpriced and has mediocre (at best) food with terrible service. Go to Yutaka, where they actually care about your business and take much better care of you. Better food and better prices at Yutaka! I will not be going back to Junz for any more abuse!

Not my pick for sushi. Tried it for the first time and my rolls were full of thick cut crisp veggies. It's not appetizing to eat a bite of sushi and have a huge carrot and pepper that can't be chewed up. I poked out all the veggies and then all there wasn't much left to the roll. Also there's no miso soup on the menu, I wasn't sure how to start the meal without traditional soup and salad.

I love Junz. Definitely the best sushi in Parker and one of my favorites around town. It is always fresh and I have never had a problem with the service.

This is probably the best sushi place I've been to. Tempura salmon skin rolls are epic, and I've never had a bad piece of sushi here. Great service, really nice people, and AWESOME food!

Great sushi! Some of the best I've had outside of Hawai'i. Good prices for what you get. They also have a fois gras plate. Anyone that can serve up some quality fois gras makes me happy.

I have had a few people tell me good things about this place. I finally made it out recently. I was not really impressed. The sushi was ok. The tempura was ok too I guess. The atmosphere is not as nice as I had hoped.

I don't mind the ok food. I don't mind the flat coke. I don't mind their super slow service. But 4 stars? No way.

My oh MY... JUNZ, how delighted to have found you. Today, Saturday May 02nd 2009, 8 friends and I attended our 4th Meetup for a dinner galore. 1 week before this date, I have made a reservation for us to attend our dinner here in JUNZ. This afternoon before I left home, I received a call from JUNZ to reconfirm our status for the reservation. I was there as early as 17:35hrs to be greeted, and were shown directly to where the whole party to be seated. Man, this place is indeed jam-packed with other patrons alike, having early dinner or those who lives in Parker to indulge on what JUNZ has to offer. By the time of 18:00hrs all of my friends came and we decide to order by 18:15hrs. This is based on my very first visit. For this evening I ordered these: * Baked Green Mussels * Chicken Yakitori * Fried Calamari * Amaebi * Unagi * Uni * Hotategai ~ sliced scallops * Ikamentai ~ Squid and Spicy Cod Though I am not WOW with the sushi that they have, at least my friends like the appetizers and entrees that they order. I like the Baked Green Mussels though I feel the Chicken Yakitori and the Fried Calamari are OK for my taste bud. From what I can recall, my friends ordered these from JUNZ: * Pepper Shrimp * Chilean Sea Bass * JUNZ Roll * Scallop Roll (Tempura) * Tuna Poke * Duck Ceviche * Crunch Roll * Pasta Fruit De Mer * Dessert ~ Lychee Serbet At least the appetizers and sushi came out fast following with the main entrees. Service is prompt, friendly and welcoming. They do provide separate checks for our group. This is 2 thumbs up for our group. Most of my friends rate their meals between 3.5 to 4 stars. I ended my meal with mango mochi. All in all my experience at JUNZ is between 3.5 to 4 stars. I would return in the future when I am in the vicinity to try out the dishes that I did not. My friends are happy that I choose JUNZ for this evening for their dinner with possibility of return for a visit to JUNZ. Thank you JUNZ for making my friends and I happy to have a seat down dine in meal on a Saturday evening.

I had Junz for the first time today for lunch. I had two different sushi rolls. Both were good but not great. I will probably be back.

It really pains me to write a semi-negative review about one of my favorite restaurants... Came here with my husband and another couple on New Years Eve. I made reservations for 5:30. When we arrived at the table, the older guy with the white ponytail and beard said we needed to be gone by 7, as that is when the next reservation for the table was. Ok, no problem. I was ok with that because the service has always been great at Junz. We had our sushi order ready before we even saw the server (which was a good 15 minutes after we had been sat). When she came to the table to take our drink order, we attempted to give her the sushi order, but she walked away in a hurry. Our drinks took a substantial amount of time. Our food took over an hour from the time we ordered. We only ordered 3 rolls and 3 or 4 orders of sashimi. By the time 7 rolled around, we hadn't received our food yet. Then we began getting stares from the older guy and a group standing by the door, that I presume were waiting for our table. Ugg. Too stressful! I hope my next experience at Junz is what I have come to know and love!

Stopped in on the day after the biggest storm of the year to meet a friend for lunch. Let's just say that we didn't have to wait to get a table. I had been to Junz a couple of years back and recalled that it was good sushi albeit a little pricey. It still holds true. Everything was fresh, as it should be. I tried bonito sashimi for the first time and I must say that I don't really care for it. Now I am a devoted fan of Sushi Kazu and compare all other sushi to Kazu's, and his amaebi is top notch. The shrimp heads are always delicately fried in a light tempura batter that lets the shrimpy goodness come through. More often than not, many places tend to smother them in a lot of tempura batter and Junz is one of them. Too much batter and fried for too long. One bright spot though was their smoked salmon. Just enough of a hint of smoke that was not overpowering....delicious!

If you are from Colorado, go to Junz and you will love it and you won't know any better. (evidenced by all of the five star reviews that this place DOES NOT deserve). If you have ever lived on the West Coast, trust me when I say that this place is overrated, overpriced, overcrowded, and the portions are way to small for a real meal.

  • Julia Y.

My review in 2009 was 4 stars & very positive. Junz has been very disappointing the past few times we have been there. Everything tasted sub par & the service is deplorable......it was just simply bad. Breaks my heart to even type this.

  • L S.

Always good, always fresh, always friendly. Not always quick, but you don't go to a nice restaurant to rush through the meal!! Reservations suggested on busy nights, though they die down about 8. I see Kristin S.'s review and she is right... the servers do not know how to prioritize when it is busy there. There are a couple that are stellar and pick up the slack, but they shouldn't always have too. During busy time, we are always there at least 1 1/2 hours... mostly waiting. This is why they don't get five stars. My favorite is the Volcano Roll.

  • Josh P.

Man who can eat sushi with chopstick can accomplish anything. Another Yelp success. I don't have a frame of reference here ("Donny, you're out of your element") but I enjoyed every bit of sushi I tried. My friend, who knows sushi much better than me, liked it all as well. My favorite rolls were the spider with the soft shell crab and a house specialty that I think was called a rock and roll. I would say that this restaurant deserves only 3 1/2 stars because the service was a little slow. It's such a narrow line, though, because I hate to be pestered and rushed. In this case, the food was worth waiting for.

one of the few nicer date-night worthy places to go to in Parker - the food was excellent and so was the wine selection. Not a kid-friendly place and the ambience was quiet and elegant. not a varied selection on the menu but what was served was very tasty and beautiful on the plate. Service, alas, was slow albeit courteous. worth a visit to impress your date!

Headline: Stellar menu marred by bad service You might be forgiven when you walk in for thinking that Junz is your typical sushi joint. A large sushi bar dominates the restaurant. However, sushi is probably their weakest menu item - aside from the Rock'n'Roll, everything is ordinary and just the same as you've probably eaten at a dozen other sushi joints. However, there is another side of Junz - the menu is an eclectic collection of cross-over items - Italian and Japanese all rolled into one. It had much promise. Let me first say that I have been here a few times for lunch. The lunch experience is different mostly because it isn't busy. The execution problems only seem to occur when it is busier. For appetizers we had Japanese Style Chicken Wings. These are basically marinated chicken wings that you've seen a thousand times or more, deep fried just like everyone else. However, they come "bare" - no sauce - and they needed one. The wings themselves were slightly underdone, juicy, but the tasty was greasy. We also had the "Grilled Tofu Steak". This needed a better description. It's tofu, but throw out the rest of it. It isn't grilled - it's breaded in panko and deep-fried, and it isn't a steak - it's two cubes about an inch and a half on the edge. Once fried golden brown, they are placed in a shallow pool of mushroom butter wine sauce and then there are a few poached oyster mushrooms added. Again, the frying job was inferior (oil not hot enough) and thus greasy. The sauce was delicious though. Let me stop here and say a word about service. That word is slow. Srsly - would it hurt for the waitress to come back and check to see if we needed more water or clean the dirty dishes away? The food was slow coming out as well, so don't come hungry. For entree we decided to split the lamb chops (there is a $1.50 split charge). The lamb comes with "crab" mashed potatoes (made with fake crab, which was a disappointment) and some vegetables. This dish could not come out worse. The lamb was over-cooked and the vegetables were undercooked, and the mashed potatoes had huge hunks of crab in it, instead of flavoring consistently. It didn't have any flavor. Since the lamb was over-cooked, we sent it back. Then we were informed that it would take an additional 15 minutes to cook anew. Another "srsly" moment. Don't you guys know how to expedite? Not a problem, we thought. We will just order a quickie maki roll instead, and were informed that would take 20 minutes. In the end, we left. This place was a disaster, and doesn't really deserve the two stars I give it. However, I am compensating for the good lunches I have had several times here. My advice - come for lunch. Give Junz a skip in the evening.

I love going to Junz for their amazing sushi. It's always so fresh tasting and delicious. They don't mask their sushi in all the heavy sauces and cheeses that are popular these days which I appreciate. It's hard finding a really good sushi restaurant and Junz is perfect. As soon as you walk into the door you are greeted by the sushi chefs and host. The servers are always knowledgeable and friendly. My mother who's been to Japan many times says their udon is probably the best udon she's had in the States! It's true, besides their sushi, their udon is flawless! Wish I lived closer so I can go more often!

Junz is good, great if you live on this side of town (Parker). Sushi is good and fresh, the menu is different than most sushi places, price is moderate. Lively atmosphere, wait staff is great. Definitely the place to go for your weekly sushi fix.

This place is located in a fairly new shopping mall complex. A good size restaurant and very popular. Almost half the tables were filled with customers and 1/3rd of the sushi bar had customers. We had the steamed clams, yellowtail collar, caesar salad and 4 kinds of sushi Yellowtail, Tuna, salmon and futomaki. The caesar salad was unique that it was served in a parm crisp shaped like a taco shell. See photo. It was a good salad with a nice bit of heat in the dressing. The parm crisp was really thick like a crouton. I would have liked it less thick so it can easily break apart and mix with the salad. The clams were in a nice wine-garlic-onion type broth and were cooked just right. Not over cooked. Clams were nice and tender. This was my first time having yellowtail collar. It's broiled where the skin is nice and crispy. You can smell the broiled smell from the kitchen. The meat in the collar section is flaky tender. The other part of the collar is salty good and has some chew to it from the broiler turning it into a jerky type texture. The sushi was good. Nice amount of wasabi on the rice was good. The futomaki had more ingredients than the traditional futomaki, so it was good. It did have avocado in it, but not as much as you would see in a California Roll, so the futomaki roll wasn't traditional. Friendly service with a good greeting and goodbye from the staff. Prices are reasonable. We saw several families with children dining here. I would definitely come back and try other items on the menu.

I really like Junz. In the land of chain-restaurants(ie, Parker), this is one of the very few places I've seen/tried that's independent with good food. Their sushi's not the best I've had, but it's better-than-average and there are plenty of other items if your group has non-sushi eaters beyond chicken teriyaki.

  • Steve W.

If you want to escape the Parker dinning selection - go to Junz. If you want to escape the Parker food selection - you must leave Parker. If I lived in Parker, then I could squeeze a 3rd star but traveling more then 10-15 min to eat here - not worth it. Wait, even if you live in Parker its prob still 15 min away... These kinds of places are a dime a dozen so service and flavor is key for me (ill sub cost and proximity for flavor at times - but these guys are not cheap). The service here is lacking and the reason for the 2 star rating. Its really a 3 star experience. Having a full house and being trendy (sushi fusion) doesn't mean you can snub your nose - its still Parker and your not that unique. The food was not bad but nothing to 'crave' or 'rave' about. The atmosphere gives you more of a city vibe, unlike the location. I can see why people in Parker love it. It can be hard to find something of that nature in Parker.

Really, five stars. Junz has been our go-to place for "fancy dinner" nights in Parker for years. The quality has never wavered. The basics are basic and the fancy rolls are amazing. My only problem with Junz isn't with the restaurant, its with it's patrons. Somehow, people in Parker have more money than sense and have a twisted idea that babies love sushi. Seriously people, get a sitter. Because of this we have resorted to doing our sushi as take out. Still a great meal.

I went here again with my family on Saturday night. We made a reservation mid-afternoon and got a table for 6:30. We were thinking of trying a different sushi place, but when you find something so good, it's hard to take a chance on a new place. When you enter the restaurant, the sushi chefs all yell a welcome. :) Shockingly, my mom ordered tempura (which is also a family favorite here), but my sister still ordered the salmon so at least someone would have it at the table. We ordered 7 or 8 rolls for 3 people and I was shocked when we polished off all but 5 pieces. So good. My favorite is the crunch roll with a sweet soy-based sauce on the top. Junz has a good wine list and my boyfriend and I tried a nice French chardonnay for $8 per glass. The service was quick; I was surprised how fast our sushi appeared this time! I can always expect a *fantastic* meal from Junz.

One of my favorite places to eat Sushi. The sushi is good, and it has very good food and a relatively attentive staff. The ambiance is modern, but still comfortable and quiet. It can get a little pricy, but you don't leave hungry at all.

  • Noname W.

We went for our first trip to Junz last night. Extremely fresh fish and the best eel I've had in Denver. Also get the fresh wasabi. I've only seen it offered in one other place. The waiter was very hurried, but still very friendly and took care of us well. My only disappointment was that they don't have Super White which is my favorite. Also, my friend's dinner came about 10 minutes before mine. Not a big enough deal to make me go less that 5 stars. A must try!!

    (5)
  • Stephanie L.

I have been here several times, and I have enjoyed my sushi and sashimi but I am amazed that they get such high praise from so many people. I think its good sushi, have I had better? Well yes. It's a little pricier then some other sushi restaurants and well if I had a choice between this and another restaurant in Parker for the sushi I might go to the other restaurant . For ambiance and service they do a pretty good job but I have had to wait for my sushi when it wasn't that busy which isn't actually that unusual these days. Overall though it is a nice place to have sushi with friends.

Went for Mothers Day lunch. Not a good experience. Sushi was well presented but taste forgettable. Two in the party had tempera but incredibly bland. Later we found out there was suppose to be sauces served with it. I had a vegetable and noodle dish...would not order again. Service was very good.

LOVE this place!! Impromptu date night here and it was perfect! We sat at the sushi bar and the staff was entertaining and friendly. The food was amazing and such a good price too. We were surprised at our bill because it was so reasonable. It is always busy here and now I know why! I can't wait to go back!

Junz - a Haiku Want a great evening? With good food and good friends too? Sushi and Sake I was turned onto this place by a friend. We shall call him the man that knows things. Well the man that knows things suggested this place based on Yelp reviews. I was skeptical at first, you see i am kind of a sushi snob. But wow am i glad i went. The food was excellent. All of your favorite rolls and sashimi, very reasonably priced. My favorite was a chef specialty called the Rock and Roll. Its a interesting twist on the classic California Roll. Fabulous. Junz lost a star for 2 reasons. First, the service left something to be desired. I am a stickler for good service. 3 of us were eating, 2 having sushi and 1 having an entree. The entree came out nearly 10 minutes before the sushi. That is unacceptable. Second, the decor is lacking. Just 1 giant room with tables that are a little too close to each other. Not very warming. Other than that this is a great place for sushi, and you can never have too much sushi.

  • Jon H.

I've had Sushi in New York, LA, Las Vegas and other parts of the world but none of it comes close to the quality of the ingredients used here at Junz. This is literally the best sushi I have had and the best part is that it's located right in Parker.

Good sushi for Parker, Colorado. Make a reservation. Even if it's 1/2 hour before you want to be there. They really treat you much differently when you make a reservation. I love to sit at the sushi bar. Very friendly and they will suggest other items that you may like.

This is hands down one of the best sushi spots on this side of town. The fish is always extremely fresh and well prepared. The service is spot-on and everyone is very friendly. I like the variety of choices on the entree menu, so there is something for everyone.

WORST SERVICE EVER! Third time going there. Every time it gets worse. Sushi is ok, nothing special and not much veriety. Unless you like cream cheese then there are plenty of rolls to choose from, yuck.

Went here because I had read good reviews. I got the Volcano Roll & Pheonix Roll. They were tasety but over $10 each. Also, later that night the rolls didnt agree with me. Had massive intestinal issues. So maybe I will go back but get someting else.

The people in my office LOVE Junz! They have invited me to go with them during lunch a few times, but each time, I was unable to join them. We had a lunch meeting, so I was very excited when it was suggested we go to Junz. I love how the sushi chef's great you the minute you walk in the door! A couple of us ordered sushi together and then the other few (who are scared of sushi) ordered cooked food. I loved the sushi and could tell it was very fresh. The hamachi nigiri was a great sized portion of fish and just melted in my mouth...yummy! The other 'cooked' meals looked quite good and were raved about. I will return to Junz and also recommend to others.

We have been to this restaurant a few times since we moved down to Parker recently. We absolutely love sushi, when done properly, and try to make time for it as much as we can with little kids in the house. I have eaten sushi all over the country, from Nobu's restaurants in LA, Vegas and Vail, down to Sushi Den / Sasa / local chains such as Hapa and the like around town here. That being said, the first couple experiences we had at Junz were good. The quality of the fish seemed to be excellent, the waiters were good, etc. However, this last time we were there a few days ago they changed my opinion drastically. Our waiter seemed aloof and in-attentive, taking a very long time to get our miso and edamame, and when the maki sushi came the rolls were falling apart, having not been rolled properly in order to maintain shape when eaten with chopsticks. Also, one of my favorite things to eat is salmon nigiri, which can either be perfectly done with fresh fish and appropriately cut, or it can turn out like it did this last time. The fish was not cut properly at all, with quite a bit of skin and tough darker meat left on the sides. That should never be served with salmon nigiri / sashimi. On top of this, the fish was falling apart where it had been pulled apart along the fatty lines, then hastily reconfigured on top of the rice like we wouldn't notice. When i mentioned to the waiter that this was not acceptable, he took it back to the sushi chef, who just cut off the dark parts and skin, then again smashed it all back together and put the mangled fish back on top of the rice and had the waiter bring it back out. I saw him do this, so when the waiter came back i immediately asked for it to be taken off of my bill. They should have done the right thing and made new ones the right way from the beginning in my opinion. It's like they assumed the customer wouldn't know any better or something. The waiter went and showed them to the manager and they ended up taking them off of my bill, but no apologies or anything like that from them. Too bad, we will not be going back after that. There are places just as good / better a little farther drive up the road.

The restaurant had rave reviews so my girlfriends and I got together to have dinner and a movie. We chose to eat here since it's close to the theater and it had been given such good reviews. We were seated immediately, although we arrived before dinner rush at 5:30 on a Friday night. It did get quite crowded while we were dining. This place is definitely for the sushi though. It touts that it can "make anything, just ask" but when I asked for something on the menu to be customized for my no-seafood-eating girlfriend, the waitress looked at me like I had 3 heads! She also said NO we can't do that. Hmmm So much for THAT claim! I ordered the Lobster Fettucine and it was very, very good. I had asked if it had pieces of lobster, but the girl told me that it didn't. So they must just put the 'lobster' flavor in with the drippings?? Not sure really, but it worked. I would have liked sun-dried tomatoes in it, but alas they have none. My other friend ordered the Corn Chowder and took three bites and left it. It was not very good and more like baby food since it had NO chunks of anything in it. She was disappointed. My other girlfriend couldn't complain, all she ordered was buttered noodles. She can't stand seafood, oh well, her loss! I probably won't be going there again because I am not a huge sushi lover, although I do love a good seared Ahi. :-) My hubby can't stand seafood either, so I guess this restaurant is off the list now. At least I was able to drag my friends to try it with me. I have driven by it a million times, but never tried it. Now I can say I did!!

Just. No. I tried this place based on some decent reviews. The service was terrible. Male Chinese waiter tosses menu on table as he walks by without even pausing- what a joke! They do not give free refills on iced tea- I have never been to a restaurant of any type that wants to charge you for a refill of iced tea. This was cheap yellowish tea, what is the cost- a few pennies? Even though it was not even close to crowded, the sushi took a really long time to come out. The place was uncomfortably warm, had soy sauce splattered on the wall, check tray was dirty. The tempura was not greasy which was the one bright spot, but was really skimpy with only a few pieces and a warm, dishwatery dipping sauce that was gross. The sushi was on the bland side and everything was oddly warm. They also make the rolls in a strange size, fewer pieces but larger circumference so that you can't put a piece comfortably in your mouth. The waiter chewed out a new female employee in front of all of the patrons for something trivial- that guy really needs to go. I won't be back based on the mediocre sushi with no lunch specials, terrible service, charges for iced tea refills.

Great place for families, sushi lovers and sophisticated twenty-somethings stuck in Parker. I'll be honest with you, I went to High School in Parker, Colorado and lived in what I thought of at the time as a suburbia nightmare in my influential rebellious years of 13-17. I have since gone away to college and lived at home a couple months after graduation and all i can say is WOW. Parker has changed dramatically from what it was in the late 1990's....and the best thing...is by FAR Junz!! I love this place. The foie gras is amazing. The sashimi is amazing. The bar area is great, the staff is for the most part super friendly and very knowledgeable...and they have a roll that's changed my life.... The Volcano Roll. Ask for it super hot. You'll thank me for it! This is by far my favorite Sushi restaurant in Colorado!

After my girlfriend suggested sushi for dinner one night I immediatly found Junz on Yelp... your reviews were accurate. The sushi was great! I will be coming back to Junz for sushi in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant for people living in Parker... besides, where else are you going to find great sushi in Parker? I am excited about trying different things on their menu in the future. Hopefully my experience will be as delicious as the first. Definitely a thumbs up in my book.

Not too bad but not excellent. You have to go into Denver to get the really good sushi. The rolls fell apart too easily and just didn't wow us like we wanted them to. Sorry I can't think of any more specific examples. Really, this place is not bad. It's just that we've been spoiled by sushi that is so much better!

As part of my job, I often get to entertain visitors from our other offices. Since I began taking people here, Junz has become an almost mandatory stop, where if a traveler is only in town for one night this is where they pick to eat. The favorite dish by far is the Sea Bass over Lobster Rice Risotto - world class. There are two pages of incredible appetizers to pick from (prosciutto wrapped scallops are my fave) and they have a good selection of premium sake to wash everything down. I'm kind of a sushi snob so I can only give them a 'good' compared to some of the other places around Denver, but overall this is a great place. Make reservations if you go on the weekends as it can get crowded and check out J'Shabu (owned by the same chef) for something different.

A little pricey, but they have a lot of options for sushi. You can also get harder to find meats like toro, etc. Their seafood salads are also nice. The other major bonus is that they offer french food, so that any seafood/asian food haters in your group will be pacified.

Sushi Den is really good but Junz ranks right up there in quality. We were so excited to find awesome Sushi in Denver. The price is really reasonable for this type of quality and freshness. Whenever we have guests come in from out of town, we always take them to Junz and everyone leaves satisfied!!!

I have loved Junz since it opened. I love sushi and have found it to be very good here. I admit that I am not as seasoned a sushi lover as some, but have never had a bad experience here. There are dishes for non sushi lovers, but this is Junz' only downfall. While the dishes they have for non sushi lovers are very good, they never change. Never. They need to cater to these people more, i.e. my husband and daughter, then I will have the joy of eating here more often.

I have to admit...Parker Co and Sushi..hmmm interesting. After moving back home from being gone 15 years. (lived in LA Seattle and Chicago) I have had some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G sushi...we have searched for about 5 weeks for some tasty raw fish and this place suprised me...We let the chef create something of his own imagination using our fav ingredients and boy was it good. A little latin flair..the drinks were awesome ...Martini and Sake...2 of us.... 120.00 so hold on to your Gold Amex...cause you will need it here... but sushi if fresh and rotates everyday...Place gets really noisy...We brought our daughter once and she loved it.

Junz is an excellent place for the Parker crowd to partake of sushi. The menu selection is varied and seasonal. They have the usual American-Sushi. The non-sushi menu is also impressive. A must try is the Junz Roll! When out with the family for a special affair, Junz comes to mind.

For a sushi restaurant in the suburbs, this place is very impressive. The high quality of fish is always consistent. We were suggested to come here from someone who said to try it because it was better than Sushi Den. Although we are not big fans of Sushi Den because we think there are far better Sushi places that the Den, i.e Matsuhisa, we thought, how could a small place in Parker be any good. Well it is, and if your an Uni lover, eat it here. It's very high quality, and always perfection. I'm also a big fan of the fresh wasabi with my dinner. It's not exactly fresh, it's more like pickled wasabi, but it's delicious.

I am glad there is a good sushi restaurant down south! Went to lunch on a Saturday afternoon with 4 people and was seated immediately. Excellent food - although, I did not find spicy tuna bowl on the menu and the tuna poke was a bit pricy for an appetizer. Wait staff was friendly and knew the menu well. Will definitely go back!

I know sushi, I can eat sushi at least once or twice a week, every week (and I actually do). I've been to nearly every sushi restaurant in Denver Metro Area. There are only very few good quality sushi restaurants in Denver area. Most of the restaurants do not generate enough customer traffic to go through their fish deliveries, thus, resulting in bad quality fish or cheap quality fish. I've been going to Junz since the 2nd day it opened. I think if the staff knows you're frequent customer, they make sure you receive excellent service because I always have staff/waiter who know what I order and like. The sushi chefs cut good cuts of fish and the rolls are delicious. The ambience is definitely great, especially for Parker. They have great selection of Japanese beer and Sake to go with your sushi, but also try their Martinis or Wine selection. For non-sushi eaters, I'd recommend Shrimp Tempura or Lobster Creme Fettuccini. For sushi eaters, don't be afraid to order, they've got good quality fresh fish for sushi and delicious rolls such as Phoenix Roll or Volcano Roll. There are several tasty appetizers, my personal favorite is Jun's own creation called "Calamari Steak" (it is different from their Calamari Rings - both of which are excellent).

I thought i was going to get lousy sushi at this place, since its nowhere near the ocean...i mean, how fresh can their fish be? Turns out, their yellowtail was pretty good as was their salmon. their tuna was a little eh, but my friend told me he's had it better there before. overall, a good sushi place. try their phoenix roll. good price, good lighting and andes mints instead of those cheapo starlight mints after you're done.

Is this the best sushi in Denver? No, I don't believe it's at that level. However, this place scores some serious points because it does have good sushi, and it's not a bad restaurant, and it's located in Parker. For those unfamiliar with Parker, we generally let good restaurants die. YET, we have a new Jack-in-the-Box, with a Del Taco being constructed next door. Keep up the crappy work, Parker! I digress. Junz does have some quality sushi and a great selection to choose from. My wife and I went here years ago and enjoyed our meal, but were not in the mood to spend $20 for an entree and stay in Parker. There were better restaurants further away. One night, we desperately craved sushi and needed something close. After browsing their menu online, we ordered some sushi for takeout. I ordered items that I would get elsewhere and I thought they did a good job. So if you're stuck in Parker and the long drive-thru line at Jack-in-the-Box seems too much, head over to Junz for some quality sushi or Asian fare.

  • W S.

Always have a good meal and decent service at Junz. Parker has a hard time with eateries. Not sure whether residents refuse to support potentially good restaurants that open in the area or they just prefer to eat at Taco Bell and McDonalds? There have been quite a few good restaurants come and go in the last 5 years? There have been quite a few bad restaurants come and go as well. The sushi is good and if sushi is not your thing, they have a variety of standard fare to choose from. They also have a pretty good selection of Sake to choose from. One of my favorites in Parker.

I was very hesitant to try sushi in Colorado--the lack of fresh fish and all. I'm used to West Coast sushi places. Junz is hit or miss. The first time we went the fish was decent, the second time we went the fish was...well..fishy. I won't go back to sushi places that serve skunky fish.

My personal favorite sushi spot in Colorado. I live blocks from the Sushi Den and I still get to Junz whenever I can. The sushi is wonderful but the real treat is the swordfish with the lobster fettucini is amazing. Don't miss the risotto. Best risotto I have ever had. The deserts are also very good. The atmosphere is fun and the sushi chefs greet you and send you on your way. I highly recommend to anyone.

I'm always leery of fusion restaurants but this one does a good job combining Japanese and French cuisine. The sushi is always fresh and the French-Japanese dishes are good. I don't really have a complaint about this place, ok maybe it's a little far from where I live but that's ok. Just good eats all around.

A little bit pricey, but we came on a Friday night and left more wholesomely satisfied than most sushi restaurants could give. They didn't have the Escargot but we decides on some fried oysters.. Recommended to all!!! Could not believe how tasty they were. Since were sitting at the bar, we got a complimentary seaweed salad that was incredible. I've had a lot of seaweed salad but they outdid them with ease. Not sure if it was the quality or the small amount of dressing that was on it but by golly gee it was great. I'd give this place an additional star but our waiter was hard to find, so gotta knock off one (wish I could just do a half star because the place really is delishhh)

Another great sushi find in the Denver area. If you find yourself in southern Denver this is a must for sushi fans. I sat at the bar with a couple of people, so our service was great and timely, but I cannot say anything about table seating. You MUST try the calamari while you are there - excellent! The sushi is also wonderful as well. My favorite part of Junz is the fresh wasabi - don't forget to ask! If you are a wine fan - they serve wine in deep glasses as well. Overall, the service was perfect, the sushi is great, and the decor is very interesting.

we arrived and were instantly sat amongst a few other diners... we were served 2 beers 2 sakis and our girls tofu teriyaki...then quickly served another 2 beers & 2 sakis then we waited. and waited. AND WAITED. waited while tables around us were sat and served. and we waited for a total of 45mins!! the server asked if we cared for another round of drinks!!! we were like "No! we'd just like our food please!!" 45 MINUTES PEOPLE!! for 10pieces of sushi(salmon. albacore. yellowfin& eel) and 3 rolls(1special. 1spicy tuna &1avocado) ?!!! from now on anytime we wanna sushi fix we'll just make the mission to !!*SUSHI DEN*!!! sooooo much more worth it...

I love this place. The people are nice and of course the sushi is good. Im rating 4 stars because the rolls could be wrapped a bit tighter. I must say this is the only place I go that has great sushi that falls apart. Oh yeah...don't forget, fresh Wasabi !!!

Really disappointing 1st experience last night. The waiter was rude, seemed like he was in too much of a hurry to stick around and answer some basic questions about the menu. We started with a couple orders of sashimi. The waitstaff returned to tell me that it would be an hour for the halibut sashimi so I opted for the red snapper instead. The sashimi was good at best, the red snapper had a taste of reaching the end of its shelf life. We ordered a duck springroll. Although the duck was cooked and tasted nice, it probably would have been better with the accompanied garlic sauce that we didn't receive. For entrees, my date ordered the Halibut and I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. The Halibut was delicious, but I cannot say the same for the Chilean Sea Bass. The Sea Bass was tasteless and was supposed to be topped with a lobster bouillabaisse sauce; that sauce was nowhere to be found. On to dessert.... My date wanted the Chocolate Creme Brûlée and I opted for the tiramisu. Once again our waitstaff returned to inform my date that the Chocolate Creme Brûlée was not available. The tiramisu was just average...

I don't know even if I would call this a sushi restaurant. She handed use two menus, wine menu, and a folded up piece of yellow paper. No writing was on it. We asked to see the sushi menu and she pointed to it, unfortunately it was under the win menu. They have about 10 - 12 rolls. A couple of them were good. Maybe we should have set at the bar, got better service, I don't know. We had been there once before, but it was a long time ago with about 15 people. We won't be returning to this one.

  • Laura C.

We went based on the Yelp reviews but it was only "meh" at best... the sushi was actually good, but the low rating comes because everything else was poor (raw oysters didn't taste fresh and were covered with so much sauce that you could barely tell it was oyster, chicken kabob was mostly fat and not edible, the elk was so overcooked it was like jerky, and the tuna tartar wasn't great). The waitress was sweet, but clearly inexperienced - she was trying so hard to be responsive when we first sat down that she came over every 30 seconds asking if we were ready to order (someone please train her to come by at a more reasonable pace - and watch for queues that your customer is ready - like putting down their menus) and then when we left lots of food uneaten, she didn't ask how it was or if there was an issue - just said she'd bring a box. She needs to be trained to check in with her customer to open the feedback loop and make corrections. Really bummed because we hoped to like this place... oh well, we'll keep going to an awesome sushi place in Highlands Ranch if we don't feel like driving into Denver.

We ordered drinks, salad, sushi and tempura. Everything tasted SO good. However, the service was bad. Other tables (with a different server) seemed to be receiving timely service, so this review shouldn't reflect the entire wait staff. The entire pace of our meal was slow. The initial ordering, drinks, food delivery, check drop off and processing took forever. If I return, I would probably just get take out.

This was one of our regulars. We used to go each Friday before we moved to Cali. Charlie at the sushi bar knew our order before we walked in the door. There is so many things that were delightful. The seaweed salad that began the meal starts your taste buds out perfectly. I loved the Chilean Sea Bass with Cheesy Risotto. The steak wrapped asparagus cooked perfectly was my son's favorite. This one has a light teriyaki sauce over the top Now comes the good stuff...they have changed a few rolls but the dragon and catapiller rolls were perfect. I always look for unagi rolls that are done well. These are perfect. My husband orders the fresh tuna ..

By Far the BEST Sushi in the Denver Area!!!!! I LOVE eating at Junz. The only other place I get this quality is when I travel to Hawaii. I've had people recommend other places in the Denver Area that have reputations of being great restaurants and they don't come close in comparison to Junz!!!! If you live close by, you are missing out if you've never tried Junz. I am so glad I found this place and always take visitors from out of town to Junz when they are here for a visit....it's just that good!!!!

It's just OK... We started with the baked mussels, and while the mussels were big and appeared fresh, they were just topped with cheese and broiled.. not the usual mayo sauce.. We had a roll that was topped with white fish that looked a little gray, so I didn't even eat it. The spicy eel roll was partially good, and partially way too spicy, and I like spicy. They also don't have a very big selection of sushi, it seems to me. The service was pretty good. I should also add the lunch special of Maki Niki was really very good, but the portion was a tiny bit smallish.

What a relief to know there's a good sushi place where we live plus a French twist to it. My husband loves foie gras and couldn't believe it was on the menu. We recently moved from the Bay Area, California where they don't allow restaurants to serve it. Nevertheless it was amazing and the fish was fresh, we couldn't have been nicely surprised.

This is one of the best sushi places I have been to and I've been to a lot. As for JC's earlier post there were multiple tables with 4 or more people that ordered large sushi plates. 40 minutes isn't bad, the thing that made it hard for you was the inability to control your 3 and 5 year old children. I've been there, but you can blame a restaurant for your kids making you the center of attention. Especially when you didn't raise a finger to control them.

The sashimi was as fresh as can be. The only problem is that we walked in on a Friday and didn't get our sashimi until the next Tuesday. I didn't realize that it takes 50 minutes to cut 15 pieces off of a raw fish.

  • Bob N.

Very expensive, food is NOT consistent. When it's good it can be excellent, but other times I have literally gagged. Being in Colorado, sushi can be a tough. I once had a problem with my filet. It was RAW in the middle, way off. I called for the manager and June the owner came over, he didn't care. He said they would re-cook it but no apology. I got the impression he was annoyed at my complaint. I waited and watched my wife eat her meal while I waited another 15 minutes for mine. The owner should have bent over backwards to fix the issue, but he really doesn't have a customer service mentality. I stopped going here.

2 stars for cooked food Ordered the filet medium, came out medium plus tasted and looked like pot roast. Had a steak knife and barely could cut it. Took two bites and the rest went home to my dogs. The filet (pot roast) was accompanied by crab mashed potatoes which were very tasty and sautéed veggies that were perfect. Hubby ordered the lamb chops which where tender, but lacked in flavor. The sushi was decent, but not good enough to make me come back.

Junz is one of my go-to places in Parker when I am in town. It's very nicely decorated. I like the splashes of red everywhere. I think the sushi bar area is lovely. The customer service has been really good every time I have been here. There is an average selection of wines. I have found the food to be consistently good. I've tried several of the salads and my favorite by far is the shiitake mushroom salad. I almost always order the appetizer with the scallops, shrimp, lobster, & veggies baked and topped with cheese. The name escapes me at the moment, but it is great. It would be even better if they served it with some toasted french bread, which isn't as sacrilegious as it sounds since it is a Japanese/French fusion joint. The sushi rolls I've had are good. They are a good size. Call me snobby, but I don't actually order the raw fish ones very often because...you know...Colorado is land-locked so I have reservations about how fresh the fish could be; but my boss-lady, who I dined with this week, said it seemed pretty fresh to her. The prices seem fair. For my needs, this place is a good place to dine and I'll return as long as I am travelling to Parker.

The sushi was AMAZING! Especially the Volcano Rolls. Wooooooow! We ordered The Rainbow Rolls, Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon and Volcano Rolls, and they were all really good, but BY FAR the best of them all was the Volcano Rolls. Pros: Great sushi, fairly cost friendly ($60-$100 to feed four people). Cons: The atmosphere was fine, but not amazing.

Our daughter and son in-law treated us to dinner out at the Japanese restaurant in Aurora, Colorado the other night. Rose was happy to try a new Asian place (with rice!) and I have just begun to explore sushi, so this seemed to be a promising adventure. Although the place was quite busy, we were seated promptly (we had reservations). At our daughter's suggestion we ordered a bottle of Yaegaki Nagori Sake and some edamame for an appetizer. The sake was smooth and mellow and a perfect complement to our meal. The edamame (steamed, salted soy bean pods) was new to me and a pleasing snack. For entrées Rose ordered Niku Maki; thinly sliced ribeye beef wrapped around asparagus with a house salad and sautéed vegetables. Absolutely wonderful! I ordered Tempura; shrimp and vegetables deep-fried with that wonderful, light crispy crust, served with a house salad and sautéed vegetables. To top it all, the kids ordered an assortment of sushi, and specially prepared house wasabi. Wow! So many tastes and textures! Everything was great. The service, considering the crowd, was efficient and friendly. It was indeed a great evening. "Rose's Cafe" #rosescafe1 rosescafe1.blogspot.com

I must have come here on an off day. The food was just ok. We had the strangest dynamite covered in a thick layer of cheese, had tomato in it and was generally unappealing. Some of the sushi was ok (salmon and yellowtail) and some had a fishy taste in a bad way which turned me off for the rest of the meal. I had heard mixed reviews and gave it a shot.

Good sushi, nothing spectacular. The service was marginal. Granted, we came in close to closing time, but my feeling is, if you're open, you're open. The waiter kept disappearing, so even though we were trying to move things along, we couldn't. The rolls had a tendency to fall apart, which I always feel is a sign of a mediocre sushi restaurant. The restaurant is going for a trendy vibe, but I honestly just felt it was dark and cold. I noticed another reviewer mentioned the employees smoking out front, and I have to admit, it was the first thing I noticed too when we pulled up - tacky. This is just as pricey as any other 'nice' sushi restaurant, and I'd much rather spend my money up the road at Kurosawa.

The fresh wasabi is awesome! Something I haven't experienced at other sushi restaurants, it has little sticks in it but it tastes AWESOME!!! (Like 2 bucks). The rest of the meal was prepped way fast. Great place. Probably as good as it gets as far as sushi goes in Elizabeth.

Unbelievably good. GET THE BLACK COD! Its seriously life changing. Prosciutto wrapped scallops were ridiculously delicious. All the sushi was fresh and very tasty. My first time here, and I will be back over and over and over!!!

Yay! Parker has a great restaurant after all. Wish I had discovered this one sooner. Super fresh sushi and great service, really reasonable prices and pretty decor. A lovely first experience. I'll be back.

Love this place. Food is always great and so is the service. Best restaurant in Parker! Gets really busy on the weekends, so go early.

Junz used to be one of my favorite places for Sushi in Colorado. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated to a point where there are better options. While the quality and selection is still good, the cuts are small and many of the offerings are loaded with mayo- yuk! The service is very bad as well. Too bad as I really loved this place!

Way over priced. Kurosawa and Yutaka are both a better deal. Service was slow, even for a sushi place, pieces are small. No interest in a revisit.

Great sushi! Great service! Great atmosphere! Reasonable prices and selection! What more do you need?!

Just as Will C. indicated in his review, the place is mediocre. It's probably outstanding sushi for Parker, but not if you've had authentic Japanese food anywhere else. The food is pricey and the service is meh.

Not too bad. Service was good and sushi was alright. Seafood dynamic app is aweful, don't get it. The best sushi in Parker is Yutaka.

We have been to Junz three or four times in the last year. We have always experienced poor service, but the quality of the fish was good enough for us to try again. Last night will be our last visit. Not only was service poor, it was the worst I think I've ever experienced anywhere. Started with a hostess rolling her eyes and acting upset that 6 people would show up at 6:15 without a reservation, then proceeded with a waiter that you had to flag down if you needed anything and orders that never made it to the table. He actually came to the table at one point holding a phone to his ear and talking to someone while he asked if everything was OK. To top the night off, the quality of the sushi was far below our previous experiences. The fresh fish was mediocre and the rolls were a disappointment. If this place had ANY decent sushi competition nearby they wouldn't make it.

Great sushi, wonderful, attentive service. Have been disappointed that the menu has changed very little since Junz opened over 10 years ago. Given the background of Chef/owner Jun, I had higher expectations. Fortunately, we love their sushi.

My cousin works here so I might be slightly influenced, but Junz is a pretty interesting fusion (Japanese & French!?!) restaurant and according to him, a lot of hot chicks dine here at night (lol). We met the owner that night and he seemed really breezy, gave us free drinks and appetizers. My cousin still ordered a lot though; the boys enjoyed the "Japanese Style Chicken Wings with Ginger Soy Marinade" a lot, us girls thought they were just OK. We didn't like large wings, prefer them smaller. Then there was this Tuna salad app on mashed avocados, with some artichokes, the tuna was definitely raw. Not my cup of tea but it had a very nice presentation. Fried Calamari and Fried Shrimps were both tasty but not that different from each other. I made sure I got my Yellowtail Collar, as always, such a dish never disappoints! The chef also whipped up some so called "New Style Salmon Sashimi" for our table, so it's not just sliced raw fish, more like a fish version of Beef Tataki. But it still failed to turn me into a sashimi lover. Then our jaws almost dropped when we saw two big plates of sushi, can't even recall what they were but we thought we were getting full with the appetizers already. Anyway, sushi was good, but a lot of them were spicy, guess that's what customers prefer nowadays... Ready for the main course? Cuz ordered both steak dishes (Rib-Eye Steak and Filet Mignon), both were just OK. The boys again seemed to enjoy the crab mashed potatoes, but I thought they were on the watery side. For us girls, he picked Chilean Sea Bass (on Risotto) and Sword Fish (on Lobster Cream Fettuccini), both were very very good. One thing we all unanimously loved was the mushroom sauce on top of our steaks and fish, it really transformed the meat. My Sea Bass was a thick cut that's golden fried yet very juicy inside, you just can't get enough of it! Cousin told me the secret, orang-y sauce was a reduction of boiling a lot of fish bones, and to the owner, it's like little drops of gold, so precious (and so delicious) that he doesn't usually grant second helpings. The sauce definitely peaked the taste of the fish. I was surprised how well the fish paired with Risotto. Would love to come back and try more dishes on the account that Cuz doesn't order too much food, just enough so we could savor it all!

Jung is amazing! I am so glad we found this little gem. Very unassuming, located in a strip mall in Parker. Simple clean decor, great service and wonderful, fresh, well made sushi. My only complaint is that the sushi bar is located right at the front door, which lets cold air in every time the for opens so our backs were freezing by the end of our meal - not very comfortable! But this is our new go-to sushi place. Worth the drive to Parker!

Mediocre at best. We tried Junz based on the excellent reviews but were once again disappointed by the "Japanese" food in Parker. Here's the problem. Japanese food is sophisticated and takes extensive training to be done properly. Anyone can make a sushi roll smothered in so much sauce and other ingredients that all you can taste is mayo and sriracha sauce. I'm tired of these places in the south Denver metro area that claim to be Japanese restaurants when in reality what they serve is insulting to real Japanese food. All I have to say....I could probably get better food at a convenience store in Japan than at Junz.

Love this place. They have so many sushi rolls that are amazing that I've gotten to the point where, in one visit, I can't try all of them since there are so many. Nothing beats an evening of friends, sushi and saki at Junz!

I've not been a huge sushi fan in the past, but Junz has changed that. I could probably eat a dozen of the volcano roll. So delicious. Additionally, the seafood dynamite is a massive cheesy fishy gooey pile of delicious that could probably be split 3-4 ways, but who are we kidding, I couldn't possibly bring myself to share once I've had that first bite. The place has a fairly casual feel, while still maintaining enough class that you certainly wouldn't be out of place dressed to the 9s either. Sitting at the sushi bar is good if you're looking for a casual and lively evening watching and mingling with the sushi chefs and the other folks around you (you're a little packed in.) However, if you want a nice relaxing more intimate evening with the person or people you came with, the tables are nice too. I haven't yet strayed from the sushi and appetizer menu, but I'm certainly looking forward to trying some of the fine French cuisine options as well in the not too distant future.

Went to Junz for a quick lunch before going shopping. Got some nigiri and a roll. The nigiri was fresh and the price was great compared to what other places charge for less quality. Most other places that I have been to recently charge about $1 more per 2 piece nigiri order. I knew exactly what I wanted so I opted to not ask about lunch specials. The menu does not say which days the lunch specials are good for so I'm going to guess you can get lunch specials all week 11:30-2:30p, that's a plus. Service was great. Sushi chefs where polite. I'm giving this place 5 stars for great quality for the price, good service and because they have lunch specials on weekends.

I've traveled all over the world, and this is the best sushi I've found outside of Japan. The prices are not cheap, but the quality and consistency of the food is worth it. The wait staff are a cut above what you find in most local restaurants. Attentive, but not annoying. I've not had an entrée item for a couple of years at Junz. We typically just go for sushi. Tip: Make a reservation and score a window table. Non-reservations typically do not get the window seats. Best add-on menu item: Fresh wasabi (KIZAMI WASABI on the sushi menu). Great Stuff.

What happened?! This used to be a sushi spot I raved about. I told all my friends that this was my favorite sushi place comparable to the den, but tonight was disappointing. Sub par sushi, even worse service... Hope there's a edit to this review soon.

This place was Decent nothing above average. A lot of our sushi came apart as we ate it. We asked them to make a special roll we usually get at another sushi place called a Super spider roll. They made it at 17.50 which is 4$ more then our usual place makes them. We tried it to see not a chance in comparison. Staff was smoking cigarettes in front of the store which was kind of odd we thought. We ordered some Japanese style wings which our server forgot to put in so we declined to get them once we realized it wasn't the kitchen he had just forgotten to place the order. Overall this place was ok, we will try again and hopefully have a better experience.

Best sushi in Parker and maybe greater Denver area! All dishes well prepared and wait staff very attentive. Sashimi platter fresh and nice portions as well as hot entrees all excellent. Nigori unfiltered sake also delicious. Will come back again&again.

February 2013 I hadn't been there in a long time because I'd found some better places in the area that had better service (Kimono and Yutaka). I was nearby and decided to try take-out, one more time, because I was in the mood for sushi and I wanted to give them another chance. When I walked in, the restaurant smelled really fishy. I remember that years ago when I used to go there and liked it a lot, that had not been the case. They seem to have gone downhill. I ordered what I wanted and returned for it. Because of prior bad experiences with take-out from there, I checked my bag. Of the 5 things I'd ordered and paid for, I received 2. I told the hostess that 3 were missing. She still had my ticket and went to the sushi counter and had them make them as quickly as they could. I have ordered several of the same sushi rolls at Junz before as well as at many other Japanese restaurants and none of them have ever contained crab filling. The menu did not list that the contents had changed. I was disappointed to find that all of these rolls had crab filling now. It tasted very fishy and gross. I ate everything around the crab and threw the crab away. I think I've given Junz enough chances and enough of my money now. I will not be returning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 2009 I had previously given Junz a 5 star review, but I've just changed it to 3. I've been there many times and generally, the food has been great. The last time I was there, I ordered take out sashimi and some rolls and every single piece of fish tasted old. I wanted to let them know that I was disappointed in that expensive sashimi meal. I emailed them using the email address on their website, and it bounced. I tried a few different usernames that I figured might work and junz@junzrestaurant.com went through, but that was over 2 weeks ago and I've never received a reply. When the fish is good there, it's very good. But based on my last experience, it can also be old. My advice would be to dine in, but not stop by for take out, in case you need to send the food back because it's not fresh. I like the atmosphere there and I like that if you bring children, the wait staff is still polite, instead of giving you attitude because it's a fancy restaurant.

We've been dining at Junz since their opening. Junz is by far the best place for sushi in the Parker and surrounding areas. You won't find some of the fish selections like you would at a Sushi Den or comparable, however the quality of the standard selections is quite good. Some speciality items (uni, aji, etc) are available at times. We have seen a turn over in the staff (wait and sushi chefs) over the last year. JP is very creative in his selections - sit in his section if you'd like to see some extra creativity in the presentation.
