What an amazing restaurant! The food was amazing. Best dinner I have had in a while. Atmosphere was wonderful. Bathrooms were fully equipped with lotion and mouthwash wich was a nice touch. We will be back here again and again. Thank you!

Dined here with a group of 14 as it was a last bit of holiday celebration with my girl's family and it was superb as always. The staff here are amazing even with a large group. My girl and I arrived early and grabbed a drink at the quaint little bar in the middle of the establishment. My Manhattan was great and so was the bartender. He reminds me of those old towne European bar keeps that you occasionally come across that is super cordial and very interesting. On to the large dining area in the back. It was a little cramped as we maxed out the capacity of the room but still we all had room around the table to enjoy our meals. I had the Hungarian Goulash and it was very good. The highlight had to have been the dessert shots.....so very traditional and a wonderful way to finish off the celebration with friends and family members. On a smaller scale this has always been a wonderful treasure in the little mountain town of Morrison but it's nice to see that they can handle their larger groups with such finesse and style as the small groups.

Here's an update for you all- just had a really nice experience at Cafe Prague for our fifth anniversary. Salmon Stuffer did not disappoint. Fabulous stroganoff. We may have picked the two best things on the menu, but service and taste warrants trying some of the other intriguing items. Yes, there were cops just hanging out in the parking lot. But they left before we got our food. Don't speed. We'll go again!

Upscale, but casual. This place is phenomenal. Authentic. Delicious. Wonderful. Fresh bread, potato pancakes, and dumplings so good that'd I would steal from my hungry Mamas plate. Try the goulash, trust me.

Cafe Praque is awesome. Czechoslovakian food in a very friendly environment. This is a family run restaurant that has been around for a long time. I first started going here when they were located in Georgetown. I am happy they have moved to Morrison, much closer, but I do miss the old place. Over the years I have had many of their offerings and am never disappointed.Typically I go when they have a special menu. The last time was during restaurant week. This is never a problem. I tend to have something I have not had before and always enjoy it. Tomato Bisque was excellent. Great creamy tomato flavor with Basil. Followed by a Pork Schnitzel. Lightly breaded and pan fried, served with mashed potato, sweet & sour red cabbage, brown sauce. Cooked and paired perfectly. The Chicken Marsala my wife had was also excellent. One of my favorites is the Hungarian Beef Goulash. Just the right amount of sour cream. I highly suggest reservations. This is one of those places you never know when they will fill up.

My family has been coming here for years... we love it! A bit pricey? Maybe, but excellent flavors and service, whether you're in a small group or a group of fourteen. There a banquet room in the back that accommodates larger parties, which was really nice, however it was tight with our party. The dumplings look almost like sliced white bread, so don't go in expecting the round globes of dough. These ones are pillowy, soaking up the sauces on the plate nicely. The cucumber salad is almost like a soup, with shredded cucumber & a prominent vinegar flavor. I enjoyed it but it might not be for people with less adventurous palates. This most recent visit I enjoyed the German sausage plate. So good. And the dessert shot at the end (again, not for everyone: my aunt wasn't a fan) is a lovely way to finish off the authentic meal. The only thing that doesn't appear authentic is the Caesar salad... out of place but delicious and a safer bet than the cucumber salad for people who are skittish about trying new things.

We originally chose this place because it was the only place to park, but I'm really glad it worked out that way. My caesar salad was the bee's knees. SO GOOD. The portions are pretty big, we could have shared an appetizer and entree easily. Nice ambiance and good Czech beer! Oh, do yourself a favor and get an old fashioned. Mine was a blood orange with Makers. AMAZING and with a heavy pour.

We were having a family member's birthday dinner on a Wednesday night. Tomas and Eva couldn't have been more accommodating making it a great evening out. The ice cold Slivovitz was really a hit. Everyone from our group of 5 said they would return again. I can't wait for warmer weather to check out the beer garden. It really is a Praha Palace!

Can't speak to the food, but the owner's a real jerk. We parked in the lot across the way and deposited the asked $5, when he beelined out and said rather curtly "You're coming in, right?!" When we said we had paid to park, he as curtly said "No money, read the sign!" So after we realized he would be SURE we were towed, despite the lot being half empty, we found FREE parking somewhere else in town. Hope you losing our business was worth being such an ass, buddy!

So many other places worth going to and this is not one of them. Food is passable but not worth the price. Attitude is the worst. Owner and parking police are little men with big egos. Sucking all what is good about Morrison out of the town.

Delicious food and feet service. Great atmosphere-I recommend trying to sit out on the patio towards the front near live music.

Started with the baked Brie, which I would highly recommend and then had the red trout for an entree. Service was a little slow, but we enjoyed it none the less.

Not a fan, Yelpers! I hosted a group event here for 12 friends. We were seated in a claustrophobic back room that was uninspired and depressing. The Maitre D' was grumpy and really borderline hostile- like we were not welcome. He got straight to business, making us order drinks before everyone had been seated! We asked for separate checks and he growled at us : "NO! It says that on the website". OK. Later, two sweet teenagers were trying to distribute our food, and the same guy berated them yelling "NO! NO! NO! N. O." It was humiliating for all around. The food at that point was secondary- When you are not welcome into an establishment, it doesn't matter how grand the food is However, this is not great food. The chicken schnitzel and the roasted duck pleased.. The meatloaf was disappointing, as were the weird dumplings, the soggy Caesar salad, and dried out pork roast. The Goulash was bland, with funky pickled bits that did not add to the enjoyment of this dish. Some of our party quite enjoyed the chocolate mousse for dessert! However, after slapping the check to the eldest man at the table (wrong) and calling me "honey" and us having to do a lot of math at the end, the evening was more of a hassle than a pleasant dinner, and I would not ever come back. No, No, N. O., No.

What an amazing restaurant!! Service was excellent and the food was delicious!! Staff was super friendly, sat on the patio was a little chilly, owner came out and started the fire for us. Highly recommend!! We will be back!

My mom has lived in Morrison for nearly two decades, so we have tried all the restaurants in the town many, many times and...thank goodness for Café Prague! It has THE most consistently great food, service and atmosphere in town. Granted, nearly all the places to eat in Morrison have a nice patio and a really pretty location, but the majority of places also have below average eats and service. Café Prage is the exception - everything on the menu is delicious and we have had good service every time. I think the price is slightly higher than some of the other places, but the better quality of food and service is worth it.

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere at Prague although it is pricey. I have to admit that my last trip there on Christmas Eve was a disappointment. I would have expected a special meal but instead found a limited menu with potato salad as the only available side dish. No substitutions and no reduction in price. That tarnished this restaurant for me.

We walked in without a reservation, they seated us, filled water glasses. The restaurant was empty and had just opened. Two minutes later they kicked us out to make room for a reservation. In an empty restaurant. Never again, we said as we walked out the door.

Went here for the second time last night. The inside decoration is nice, if not a little dark. Both the manager (who sat us) and our waiter were a little rough mannered. The pork schnitzel was just ok. My wife had the walleye which was slightly better than the schnitzel. In all honesty it comes down to the price. It is just too expensive given the flavors and quality of food we got. If the prices all dropped by 5-10$ I would probably come back and try other dishes. I just don't want to pay $30 for beef stroganoff that might be hit or miss. Lastly they provide an after dinner shot of some sort of apple liqueur which was very good and a nice way to end the meal.

Easily one of the best dining experiences/meals I have ever had. The restaurant is dark and romantic- the decor and accents really add to the charm of the place. Service was Fantastic! Kurtis did a wonderful job! Escargot was perfection! (Garlic and buttery- so good) Also had the Beef Carpaccio- Yum The wine list is fantastic; I tried the DeLoach Pinot Noir Had the Chicken Marsala and sampled the Salmon Stuffer- both dishes were a delight on my taste buds. After dinner drinks on the patio next to the fireplace- and a few bites of the crème brulee was a perfect end to a fantastic meal. A great place to celebrate with friends, family, or a romantic date night!

Cafe Prague is a good choice in Morrison. I have come to love Czech food after visiting the country a few years ago (try out Sobo 151 for another great/cheaper option). This place does it right, in an upscale setting. The pricey-ness and location of the place turns me off to making it a regular place, though. I tried their Wiener Schnitzel, and it was very well done and authentic (although its hard to screw up a fried piece of meat with lemons on the side). The kraut it came with was also excellent. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal, and i enjoyed the bites i tried of it all, including stroganoff and chicken a la prague. Pros: Great food, well prepared and presented. Cool atmosphere/patio + paintings and decor. Comp apple strudel liqueur offered at end of meal... very good. Cons: Service was a little stand-off-ish. Maybe it's a European thing. Only one beer on tap - Pilsner Urquell. Come on... Czechs are known for their beer, get more! Their 20% off "Check in offer" was valid only for January.... hmmm??? Back private room didn't work well - the other party was LOUD and we could hardly hear ourselves. Overall, I recommend this place for the food and atmosphere... but not too much else.

Had a large company dinner for executive leaders. Excellent service, wonderful food and all for a fair price. We had 18 people and we were in and out in less than 2 hours. Pretty amazing service for this size group. Great finishing touch for the group was the complimentary Apple Strudel shots. Thank you Cafe Prague you meet and exceeded our expectations and many of our local guests all have plans to return with their family and friends. I know I will be returning with my husband.

Apparently yelp removes negative reviews. When plugging in yelp Denver it's nowhere to be seen. The last Cafe Prague review posted was in October of 2012. Guess I can't trust yelp.

Service was quick and responsive. However food was very disappointing for the price. Overall the food did not seem fresh. Calamari was served luke warm, bread was still frozen on the inside. Entrees were ho hum as well. The only thing that seemed well crafted was the dill soup. Hopefully it was just an off night for them. But we don't plan on coming back.

I have rarely experienced such obnoxious service combined with such lackluster food. We found the place and were seated with our party. When one of my party ordered a specific type of beer he was told it could be found "next door" by the waiter. Had I not been dining with a large party, I'd have left to take the waiter up on that suggestion immediately. The server (apparently he's famous for being rude or something like that) pretty much continued in that manner throughout the meal. As for the food I found it to be mediocre at best. The escargot were actually good (hard to mess that up though...escargot, butter, garlic). The baked brie was ok, but the sauce/jelly was plain and boring. I serve mine with a ginger pear chutney, theirs was with some sort of nondescript jelly. I couldn't figure out what it was. I ordered the chicken piccata. The cucumber salad it was served with was pretty good. The chicken piccata was bland and overcooked, and the sauce lacked citrus flavor and really anything but butter or oil. The vegetables that it was served with were horribly overcooked and mushy and the pasta was just drowning in butter or oil (love butter but there wasn't much else going on here). I'm fully willing to admit that it's possible that I just ordered the wrong thing here...I'm a big fan of ordering the right thing at a restaurant (ie don't order fish at a pasta restaurant, duh) but I was desperate. I'm not a huge fan of German/Eastern European food (ok I hate it. too much of grandma's overly fried, breaded, bland, gravied, potatoe'd food did me in for a lifetime), but when the rest of the group says let's go here...you gotta go. The thing is, the menu is small enough and the prices high enough that it should all be good. Also, if the waitstaff is going to be that snooty, they better get the food up to par. So I'd say go if you like that kind of food and feel like patronizing curt service. Otherwise, go next door...whatever that may be.

I liked this place until my expensive filet came with imitation crab meat. I am from Florida. Do not offer crab if its fake. Or write that it is fake on menu. Otherwise it isnt bad. Nice and relaxing for the Morrison area.

Schnitzel was pretty generic and mashed potatoes luke warm. Waited over an hour for our meal to arrive after we had ordered. Expressed to our server from the start that we had a concert to catch but apparently they only had one person working kitchen. I'd prefer they tell me the wait will be long rather than have us miss the start of an expensive concert.

It was a cold evening following a long day of snow! We ventured not far from our home for a fine meal out and were not disappointed. I was impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant from the minute I walked in. The wood and crisp lines make for a very comfortable feel. We sat near the window to watch the beautiful March snow! Our appetizer was so tasty! The Escargot was rich and garlic-y, just as we'd hope. The soup - wow - the soup! The Sauerkraut Soup was so very good - we practically licked the bowl clean! We ordered the "sampler" platter for two and enjoyed the variety of tastes - though none were that remarkable. Service was very professional, if not a bit stark. We liked that we did not feel rushed, and enjoyed our second bottle of wine! We will return to try another menu selection as we aren't sure we made the best choice on our first visit.

So disappointed in this lovely looking restaurant on the main street of Morrison. Sat outside on their patio. Our server was attentive but the food left something to be desired. We had one chicken snitzel and a caesar salad with grilled shrimp placed on top. Portions were small and yes there were three of us who shared the two lunches. We planned on ordering more but it was not good enough to try something else. The shrimp had an off taste and my friend was not thrilled with the salad itself. The chicken, mashed potatoes and beets were ok. Be careful at lunch they do not make the same food as for dinner. That was disappointing to my friend. They had a private party that night and that might have been the difference? I had been before and the food was very good. This was an extremely disappointing experience.

This place is AMAZING!! We like to visit on special occasions and it never disappoints. The Stroganoff is CRAZY GOOD....it's so good that we can't get past it! One of these special occasions I will venture out and get something new :)

I cannot say enough great things about Cafe Prague. Food, service, atmosphere is OUTSTANDING. We will be back and plan on taking friends and family. I have noticed in other reviews a lot of the bad ones are due to service or going on a concert night at Red Rocks. Do not come here if you're in a hurry or expecting to grab your food and run to a show. Cafe Prauge deserves a nice chunck of your time...and it's worth it.

I liked this place. I had the beef stroganoff. It came without any noodles which surprised me. The beef and sauce were great. I only ask to get some noodles too. The goulash soup was good too. I'll go back here.

The food was delicious. I had the stuffed salmon. Quite pricey but its a quality dining experience. The waiters and hosts were a bit short tempered and wore their frustrations on their sleeves. As long as your on time, order promptly, and enjoy a great meal everything will be all good. Also treated us to homemade apple streusel liquor, it was fantastic.

The food was fantastic. We had pate, goulash, cream of mushroom soup, and the halibut and wild boar specials. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Nice wine list and dessert selections. Great place for a special dinner. Next time we will try the French onion soup; it looked amazing.

Stumbled on this place while in Denver. It was a great opportunity to take a culinary tour of my ancestral cuisine. I was not disappointed. Nice range of choices on the menu and a nice Czech beer list. The sauerkraut soup was something I had never had before and it was fantastic. The duck I had was very nice with a great glaze. Worth the trip out to Morrison.

We walked out of one of the shops and exclaimed,"What is that fabulous smell?" it smelled like my Grandmas kitchen on a Sunday. I said to my Italian friend," That is pork, sauerkraut and dumplings....let's go to Cafe Prague!" when we entered the smiling host said Hello and I told him how happy I was that his restaurant smelled like my Grandma's home who was from Czechoslovakia. He asked where she was from and I told him the city and that my Great Grandma was from Molravia. turns out that was where he was from! OK, the food, ahhh, so,perfect, so yummy, service was great, the waiter offered to split the dessert to go for us, butter honey cake, which was also yum! I had a taste before it made it home! After 2 weeks in Colorado on business...this was my favorite meal. For the folks that commented on negative service, maybe you can smile and be friendly and you would receive that back from the service provider! Roast pork was perfect, as was my friends pork schnitzel and she loved the red cabbage too! Go here! Loved it!

Went back tonight and was equally as impressed. Wow. The brie appetizer made me want to slap my own face. I had a hard time sharing. The dill soup was very tasty and I had the brie-stuffed salmon for an entree---again. Clearly I am of the opinion that brie is never wrong. By the end of the night I was eating for sport, true, but boy was I happy about it. My companion had the wienerschnitzel with a side of gravy and it too was very good. For dessert we had the streudel ala mode which was perhaps a bit superfluous (insofar as I could barely swallow another bite) but also terrific. This is a GREAT restaurant. One of my favorites by far.

I have to say that this is the best Eastern European restaurant in the Denver Metro area if you take into consideration the ambiance, the food and the service. Really all top drawer (except dessert - more on that later). I've driven by this place going to and from Red Rocks and never thought much about it. Most places in Morrison are just little dives or tourist traps. This place turns out to be quite sophisticated - somebody spent a bundle fixing this place up. It's modern but warm, spotlessly clean and the service does credit to the European school - flawless in every regard. Quiet when we arrived but completely full with a big party in a lovely private room in the back when we left. It is a bit of a drive and everyone was converging from different parts of town so we arrived separately. No problem. They seated us and brought us cocktails as we all arrived. Wonderful Czech beers and a quite extensive wine list - all reasonably priced. Warm bread and a plate of house made paté with lingonberries, sour pickles and capers with a wonderful assortment of warm breads got us off to a good start ($12). Entrees (all around $20) come with soup or salad. I had the sauerkraut soup which was absolutely divine - a little creamy with chunks of sausage. Yum, perfect on a cold night. Those who had the Caesar salad found it adequate but were lusting after my soup. The entree roster is fairly standard Eastern European fare - schnitzels, roulades, kassler rippchen, sauerbraten, dumplings, spaetzle, potato pancakes, red cabbage - with a few American items. They had a seafood Newburg special, Wall Eye Pike, some steaks, etc. But on a cold December night the Eastern European specials hit the ball out of the park. We pretty much sampled a little of everything but I concentrated on a perfectly crispy Wiener Schnitzel with great braised red cabbage and mashed taters. Totally marvelous. Others enjoyed the sauerbraten and pork schnitzel. Plates were all dispatched far too quickly - little oinkers, so are we all. Really no room for dessert and I have to take off a star because the dessert offerings were pretty uninspired. We did order one strudel to share which was terribly disappointing following such a wonderful meal. It was totally limp and boring - bah humbug. The complimentary apple schnapps more than made up for it though. All in all - a lovely spot. Just wish it wasn't in Morrison (or maybe I'm glad it is because if it was closer I could do some serious diet damage). Well worth the trip up the hill.

I would not recommend this place for large parties... or small parties... or really any kind of celebration. Our group of 12 made reservations there on a Saturday night to celebrate a friends upcoming wedding. When our group unexpectedly became 13 instead of 12 our server snapped. He raised is voice in frustration and told us he would have to tear his entire set up down and start over to add one chair. This solution seemed a little extreme to our laid back group and we assured him we could just squeeze in together and add a chair. When the host of the party tried to lighten the mood and commented on his lack of cheer he seemed less than amused. His attitude made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Between the 13 of us we spent almost $600.00 I will say that we enjoyed the food and drank good wine. Being one of 3 sober drivers, I did not drink and had an empty water glass for most of my entrée. Our server lightened up throughout the courses of food ... until the bill came. He asked the host who would be taking care of the bill. When she told him we would like to split it between different cards he again blew up. He actually said "Apparently you didn't read the menu."( The menu stated that checks could not be separate.)** This would have been an excellent thing to say on the phone when the reservation was made.** The server lacked professionalism as did the over emotional owner who backed the "no splitting check" policy. They were unapologetic that we were not relayed that information while making the reservation. This restaurant would do good to remember that they are in the service industry and their patrons are spending good earned money with them. At, the very least, if a discrepancy arises, I would like it to be handled with respect and dignity. Our party was more than happy to cooperate to solve how to get them payment, and they seemed so put out at taking care of us. I have personally worked in the service industry and know that it is not difficult to split a check evenly between any number of people. The lack of respect and the overly emotional responses I witnessed from the staff at Café Prague were really disappointing. No one in our group was making unreasonable requests. We were not loud, nor did we make any major modifications. In fact, we were quick and easy diners. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and I hope Café Prague can fix their mistakes.

I finally got the chance to eat at Cafe Prague this weekend and to say the least it was a really good experience. They offer fine European and American cuisine. Let's call it Euro-Americana, though I'm sure they disagree on calling it that. You can only eat dinner here as they are only open Tues-Sun 5-9pm. It's certainly a good idea to make reservations. We made ours for 6pm and arrived 15 minutes early and we're seated promptly, but right at 6 o'clock groups of people started showing up. The decor as described on their website is upscale and contemporary. Dark colored wooden ceiling and walls and on one wall is a scenic painting of Prague. There is another one at the back by the bar. They do have a patio which when our reservations were made we requested to be seated on the patio and we were told, the patio would not be open. How could you not have your patio open on a near 80 degree day? Of course after we were seated the patio suddenly became open. It's the reason I didnt give them 5 stars. Just about everyone that works here has a European accent of some sort, except the waitresses. Our waiter who had a strong accent himself, was very polite and at times he seemed to be a little perturbed, but maybe that's his upbringing or maybe he didnt like American humor or something. "Stupid Americans" is what the bubble over his head read. I saw it, but I dont think anyone else did. Or maybe I've read too many comics in my life. I had the Bohemian Sauerbraten which is sliced marinated beef loin with creamy vegetable sauce, lingonberries, sweet and sour red cabbage, and Bohemian bread dumplings. I coupled that with a glass of an Italian pinot grigio and they went together just fine. I'm not into trying to match my food with my wine, based on what the meat is. I want what I have a taste for and that's that. Make sure to clear your palette. After dinner, Cafe Prague clears your table and the waittress brings you a complimentary shot of a great tasting, really smooth, apple schnapps. Had they given me a second one, then I could've forgiven them on the patio and given them 5 stars, so let's say 4.5 instead. For dessert I hade their homemade apple strudel, which was covered in powdered sugar and chocolate syrup draped in a design across it. And it was very good and the ice cream came in a little side cup. A note on parking. There is free on the street parking for up to three hours. And there is also a small lot across the street from the restaurant and there is a little old man who checks to make sure you're going to Cafe Prague. If you are then parking is free, if not there is a fee. The staff and Cafe prague are very gracious that you took the time to join them for dinner. Kudos to Cafe Prague and their staff, I hope to see you again soon.

The food is fantastic. It is old European cuisine at it's best. I will say the owners and waiters can be a bit snooty but if you engage with them in friend conversation they are very gracious. It is definitely a special occasion place due to the cost however there are some very reasonable items too. They have some wonderful soups. The special the night we went was a rack of lamb that was to die - seriously great!

I was very excited to go here based on the reviews. I have to say I don't think we could have been more disappointed. We arrived and were greeted by a server that looked at us and said "Yes?" That was the greeting, not how are you or can I help you but a very pretentious "Yes?" We told him we wanted a table for two and he just pointed to a table. We sat down and there were two bugs on the plate that was on the table when we pointed them out he offered no apologies just replaced the plate with one from the table next to us. We ordered a bottle of wine and both glasses that he brought were very dirty. They actually had food stuck to them and were very spotty. Not what I expected when we order a $50 bottle of wine. We also ordered some calamari with extra lemons. When it arrived we noticed it did not have the extra lemons so we asked the waiter to get them. He looked at us rolled his eyes and said "Yeah!" At that point we were done we asked for the check and left. I would avoid that place like the Plague. In fact I would prefer if they rename the place Cafe Plague.

I LOVED them when they were in Georgetown but honestly I have rarely had worse service. Our food was late, our reservation was almost ignored and the service was terrible. I dont expect it to be fast in a place like this but I do expect them to be nice and admit when they made a mistake. Sadly this place used to be a favorite at their old location but we wont be going back. I expect better when i pay that kind of price.

The food is good. Service is awful!! If you are not a regular you will get bad service. Our 90 year old father lovess the goulosh.waiter was put out because it took him awhile to order( mind you there was only maybe 4 other tables ) my father needed help getting out of the restaurant ,the owner or waiterar never helped or even ask if we needed help! A customer came over to help us. Never again! Services is awful!

Ho-Hum sums it up. It was good food but definitely not worth the poor abrasive service. My friend asked for a wine recommendation this is how the conversation went: friend:"Can you recommend a wine to go with the pork dish?" (i don't remember the name) waiter:"Red or White?" friend:"Umm (confused) I guess white?" waiter:"We have chardonnay, riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, ..." friend:(more confused) "chardonnay?" waiter:"We have a _______" friend:"I guess I'll have that" Not really the recommendation he was looking for not to mention the waiter had a rude tone like why don't you know what you want to drink. The food was alright the scallops were the best dish we had they were done really well. The rest of the dishes weren't any better than what we would cook at home. We won't be going again.

This is one of those places I always forget about when I'm trying to think of places to go. Too bad, because it is the BOMB if you are craving real stick-to-yer-ribs Eastern European comfort food. We're talking about various types of meat smothered in various types of sauces (or gravies, if you will), next to various types of starch (potatoes, dumplings, potato dumplings...) and various types of cabbage (red, sweet, sour, sweet and sour...). Who can't get behind that? We came here for a fix after we'd returned from a trip to Germany and were feeling a little homesick for the schnitzel. The atmosphere is much more sleek and sophisticated than I'd expected. I felt like I was dining in a very cool martini bar. The service was top notch and we were even given a complimentary shot of some sort of apple flavored liquer as a post dinner digestif. Very classy. And very European.

My husband and I went with another couple to celebrate a birthday. I love the private parking lot since parking in Morrison can be challenging. The ambiance and decor in the restaurant is cozy and classy- pretty fireplace, and updated chic decorations. The main server- an older gentleman was extremely professional and had a maitre d charm. We started with the calamari and caprese salad and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. The calamari was tempura battered with jalapeños and asparagus and was the best all four of us have ever had. Our friend ordered the chicken schnitzel and we all tasted it and decided that it was some of the best prepared chicken we have had. I had the cucumber salad which was unique and delicious and the Chicken Picatta with capers and it was perfect. We enjoyed two bottles of wine and when we couldn't finish the second, the server packaged it up for us to take home. We had a wonderful, relaxing meal in beautiful Morrison and can't wait to return!

First, allow me to say, if we are rating the food alone, this place deserves a much higher rating. We're talking 4 stars. However, when I dine, and especially when I spend this much on a meal, the service counts as much as the food. My husband and I have been here 4 or 5 times. A solid 3 times, we have encountered waitstaff who are flippant, dismissive, or flat out rude. Tonight, I think, marks my last business dealing with them. I am currently pregnant, and on bed rest, and had a strong craving for their food. My sweet husband agreed to go get it if I placed a take out order. After looking on Yelp and on the restaurants own website, I saw that both said they do take out orders. I called, and was extremely polite and humorous, telling them I'm so sorry but I'm pregnant and just desperately needed some of their food. The first person I spoke to was exasperated and dismissive, said, "well, we don't usually do that, but I guess we can." I apologized for any inconvenience, and he passed me off to someone else. The second person was flat out rude, telling me "yeah I guess we can do it, but we are busy, so don't expect it to be ready any time soon." I said, "Of course, we can come get it whenever it is convenient." I gave him my order, which he took so rudely, I told him, "Sir, I don't have to place an order at all if it is this inconvenient." And he assured me they could, but it would take 45 minutes. Now, I understand that this is a nice place, and I'm sure take out orders are not common or convenient. However, I called with a great deal of courtesy, acknowledging the inconvenience and apologizing, and was met with distain. If this was the only time, I'd dismiss it. However, we have been met with this attitude several times, in person. If they have a problem with take out orders, then they should not state that they provide them on their website. I was simply operating on the information that was available to me. Anyway, I hope that this is a good meal, as it will be the last I have of theirs, unless there is a major service overhaul.

This restaurant is quickly becoming one of our favorite places for special occasions. We recently had some friends in town and brought them to the Cafe Prague to celebrate. They were very impressed as everything we ate was absolutely delicious. And they come from a background of food service! I had the port schnitzel and it was prepared perfectly - what is it about breaded pork that tastes so good?!?! Excellent service, wine, deserts. I look forward to returning!

Beware of this place during Denver Restaurant Week. You will not have access to the more economical entrees, should you desire to simply order from the regular menu, and they don't tell you this in advance. The Denver Restaurant Week $52.80 menu is seriously overpriced, with some items marked up as much as $8 more than they would be at any other time of the year. Since all the meals come with soup or salad, the only extra for your $52.80 per couple is a minuscule dessert. On the plus side, the food and service are decent. However, I am giving Cafe Prague only two stars because I feel like we were scammed.

I've been to this place a few times because it's on the way home from work, and it's never disappointed. Good duck! For the person who mentioned an issue about a rez for 5 OR 6? Well it DOES make a difference to the person who needs to find & set you a table in a smaller restaurant. Cut them some slack. Personally, I can't stand when a server crawls up my proverbial butt. Some are just professional without wearing a crazy smile, falling all over you like they're desperate for tips. Respect begets respect! So don't expect waitstaff to perform like hyper-smiling dancing monkeys, and you'll have a better time anywhere you go. Works for me.

A lovely little taste of home. Cafe Prague is a very nice little cafe with Eastern European food fare done so well. With a lovely mural and cozy atmosphere, one can forget, even for a moment, that one is just in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and not sitting in a cafe by the Vlata.

We decided to check out Cafe Prague for my birthday dinner with a concert at Red Rocks. Having lived in Prague for a short time I learned that it is a very meat and potatoes cuisine. I had the liver ball soup to start, which was a wonderful melody of flavor and texture. My fiance started with the Caesar salad; it was good. For the main course I had the svickova (s-veach-kova) it had an out standing sauce (gravy) with lots of flavor that hit all the right notes. My lady had the meat loaf ( yet again a very meat and potatoes culture) it was full of flavor and very good. We ended the meal by sharing an apple strudel with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The strudel was great, the ice cream was so-so. Oh, we also both had a pilsner urquell from the tap, which tasted fresh, they had staropramen but it's in a bottle. The service was the type that we enjoy, not having a complete stranger try to be best buds just for a good tip. Take the orders, remove the plates, refill the glasses. We're here for us not for you. The music was a various compilation of Czech artists. All in all it was very romantic and an outstanding meal that brought back many memories of being in Praha. The only thing that we would change is the restaurant not having nakladany hermelin (pickled edam cheese) it's an awesome appetizer. :(

All I can say is YUMMY!!!!!! Escargot for starters..delicious! I had the special seafood newburg, shrimp and scallops in a lobster sauce. The pate is to die for!!! We went for a friend's birthday celebration so we sat in a private dining area. Our waiter, Kurtis, was the best!!!! Cocktails outside after dinner by the fireplace! It's a great atmosphere and delicious food!!!!!

My wife and I decided to come back here on a weekday evening as we both wanted to sit on the patio and enjoy the nice end of summer weather. We have eaten here several times before over the past 3 years but I must say the place has gone down hill, mostly because of the atrocious service we received from Milan! From the first time he came to our table scowling and talking in a short, curt, almost angry fashion. He acted this way the entire time we were at the restaurant! The food was ok, but just ok. When you go to a place like this and drop close to $100 with drinks it would be nice to not have to put up with this prima dona! It will be a long time before we return if ever...but since the patio is such a wonderful place if we do go back we will make sure this guy is not our server!

Since I have visited Prague two times myself I was excited to visit this restaurant before we went to a concert at Red Rocks. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened and immediately the bad service started. When we entered the restaurant you would have thought we were lost and wandered in off the street - no one asked us if we would like a table, etc. We should have turned around and left then. But we asked to be seated for dinner on the patio. Then we were "waited on" by the most surly waiter I have ever seen, the infamous Milan - and I have traveled through 17 countries, so I have experienced rudeness towards Americans. Having read previous reviews we knew there was the possibility of rude service...especially from that particular waiter - our bad luck that he was our waiter. But, as the patio started to fill up, we realized that we was more friendly to other patrons and seemed to be reserving his worst attitude for us. I have no choice but to believe it is because my husband is of another ethnicity...this waiter refused to look directly at my husband and only spoke directly to me. When we realized this we decided to cut our visit short and go to our concert at Red Rocks. As far as the food, is was okay, not authentic compared to what I have eaten in my travels through Prague and Karlovy Vary. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

A slap in the face! I had salmon and it was VERY fishy tasting (fyi, I eat some version of salmon at least three times per week so I know what it's supposed to taste like). I didn't say anything at first, just trying to be polite to my boyfriend for taking me out for dinner, but he asked to taste it and almost spat it out!! He said, "That's horrible! It's so fishy!" Since I'd only eaten about 1/4 of it, the waiter asked if I wanted a container to take it home and I politely told him, "No thank you. I must say that I'm rather disappointed. It's very fishy tasting." He apologized and said he would talk to someone about it. He came back after a short while and said, "I spoke to the chef and he said that the salmon is fresh. He said that it's Atlantic salmon and that's how it tastes." I told him that I eat various types of salmon at least 3 times per week, including Atlantic salmon and if it's fresh, it does not taste like that. He left the table and came back ten minutes later with a platter of salmon and said, "The chef told me to bring this out and show it to you and show you that it is fresh." Well, I had had it at this point with being called a liar so I told him what I thought of them essentially calling me a liar instead of just apologizing and leaving it at that or offering to make it right the next time we came in. And to add insult to injury, the owner kept walking past our table and glaring at me instead of coming over to apologize and offer to make things right!!! REALLY????? Well, of course we will NOT be going back with that kind of service. I don't understand why they couldn't have just apologized and left it alone. ??? I mean, it was obvious I didn't like it.... 3/4 was still on my plate! Why not just realize that your customer isn't happy and try to make it right so that she'll come back and try something else? Instead, you've lost two customers. You won't stay in business long with that attitude. Seriously, anyone is taking a big risk by eating here. Save your money for a place that will respect you and make it right if you don't like your meal. This place is much too expensive to take that risk.

Server Michael fantastic. Very very quick service on every course. I will make this a regular stop. Gets very busy by 6:30pm. Get reservations or get there by 5pm. Large wine selection and great authentic Czech food. I highly recommend this for a delectable fine dining experience.

Great atmosphere and good food but a little on the expensive side. They do have a good drink menu and use top shelf alcohol.

I thought I would check and see if anyone else had similar service issues and voila. I'm assuming the infamous "Milan" was our server because it would be pretty unlikely that one restaurant could have 2 or more such obnoxiously arrogant servers. It's amazing that a restaurant would get so many bad reviews and KEEP the same rude server!? He's lucky he has a job! Serving us seemed to be the biggest annoyance of his life. And we are friendly people! We were late to our concert at Red Rocks because of the slow delivery of our meals. A tiny plate of pasta and 2 orders of seared ahi should not take 40 minutes to get to the table. And for what we paid...? I wondered if he was just trying to punish us for something by "forgetting" our order. Not having the "right" clothes? Not ordering a $100 bottle of wine? I don't know. Now I see that it wasn't anything personal. This guy is just not friendly. Even the water pourer told my husband that if she didn't keep filling his glass (which he had nicely asked her to refrain from doing) he was going to get mad at her...??? The food was ok, but nothing exceptional. But I will give them 2 stars instead of one because at least the ahi tasted good. I don't recommend this restaurant, especially if you are going to a concert at Red Rocks. I'm sure Morrison has other restaurants you'll enjoy.
