Wished it was a better experience, pricey, small portions and I could see the bottom of my coffee cup for most of my meal, yet they were not that busy. Like I stated, liked forward to trying the place out and was disappointed a little bit.

Chorizo scramble, French toast and crispy bacon. Great hole in the wall for breakfast. The Chorizo Scramble was a special for the day. Parking is either in the small lot or on the street. Do be surprised if you have to wait to eat as it is a pretty popular spot. There is seating in the "back" however during the winter months it can be quite chilly even with the propane heater that is running. We sat just inside the door and were still a little cold. Overall the food was great and we will look at coming back again in the future to try more of the breakfast menu.

Never been impressed with this place, but thought we would try it under new ownership and name. Service was rude and rushed and the food is overpriced. I'll continue going to Red Rocks Grill which is a great place.

Food was good, but the service was outstanding! Needed a dog friendly patio and one of the servers was nice enough to call us when a table became available. The amazing service continued throughout the whole meal. Great place to stop after walking around Red Rocks!

We were headed back to Denver and stopped here for a bite to eat at lunchtime. People were real nice and the food was solid diner food. I had the burger and fries and everything was good. I saw people lined up outside for ice cream and was inspired to order a root beer float. It was delicious and a perfect treat for a hot day. This seems like a great spot to stop and grab a cone to nibble on as you wander Morrison.

Ordered soft scrambled eggs got an omelet server never asked how my food was so I just had them take it off the bill which was a dollar but if you ordered 3 eggs I doubt they would charge you a dollar.....if I could leave no stars I would RIP OFF

Excellent food. Love the Fish and Chips Coleslaw is the best anywhere in the world!! Today someone raved about the special and hoped it would become a regular on the menu Eating inside or out. Take out works too I also saw a really delicious Mango Margarita I'll go back for soon

Food mediocre, especially for price. Service was so slow! No water refills, waited forever for our check, and then the check had items we didn't order on it. But the scenery was pretty so they got that going for them, which is nice. Wouldn't recommend this place for romantic date.

If we had decent service and timely food and drink delivery, I would have given this place 5 stars since our dogs could join us on the patio. We ordered Chips and Salsa before our food, and about 20 minutes later our server came up to us and said, "Oh, you ordered that, right? I forgot to put it in". Seriously, it's chips and salsa. I ordered a margarita with the appetizer, and it came out even later than the chips and salsa. I then ordered a steak burrito, and after only 5 minutes of having our salsa come out, a PORK burrito came out. I waited 15 minutes for SOMEONE to come around so I could ask what protein I was served, and finally the manager came by. He thought it was chicken, went to check the order, and our server rung in Carnitas. After that, our server decided to vanish and we had a new lady. They ended up taking my burrito off the tab (I didn't even ask, it was a nice surprise when we got it). The burrito in fairness was alright, just not steak. And to wait almost 30 minutes for chips and salsa because our server forgot is just ridiculous. It was a Saturday mid-day lunch, I'd hate to see them on a weekday. We *might* come back, really only because the dogs can go, but we'll probably just stick to the bar (the margarita was great) and apps (if they arrive).

Terrible cocktails! Sangria was like a glass of simple syrup and the margarita wasn't much better even though it was professed to be house made. Stick with draft beer or breakfast.

Love The Cow! Great food! The service is the best! Love the new owners! You can really see that they care about customer service here.

As a long time customer of the Blue cow (now just the Cow) we were disappointed with the meal changes by the current owner. Plate was a bit skimpy and not as well presented as previously. Also missing was the nice fruit that was always included before. Still okay, but no longer the 5 star - great breakfast we were used to. Not sure it is still worth the drive. ..

5 stars for food. Great options on be menu. But very very slow service, which was the knock down in rating.

Good refreshing treat after.ypu just got done with a long hike on one of the many trails and mountains nearby. Nice people, good scenery surrounding if you want to eat your treat outside.

Nothing fancy. We were there for breakfast and the pancakes were pretty good. Little awkward at first as we walked in and staff just looked at us, so we walked towards them in the back only to be told we could sit anywhere. Why couldn't they say that as we walked in? It's not like the place was so big we wouldn't hear them. We had to keep tracking down the waitress: to refill our drinks and to pay the bill.

Wow. If I could start by saying I would give them no stars if I could . My wife and I went for breakfast on Labor Day around 10ish. The wait was 30 minutes which would have been fine if that was all. Oh yeah, when we got there, we couldn't tell where the host was to put our name on the waiting list. People were all over the place and the host was just overwhelmed. No Manager to be seen or hear from. When we did get seated, we noticed no one in our section was eating. Just sittin there looking pissed. The waitress came over and got us coffee and took our order. Never really to be seen again after. We sat there for an hour and still didn't get our food?!? Two other tables stormed out pissed to. Which is sad considering both tables food came out shortly after try left. So I would definitely think twice before you go. The funny thing is they really weren't that busy. Just very disorganized and not very accommodating.

The service was excruciatingly slow. The food was way below average The prices were above average. The restrooms were dirty. Except for these things give it a try

Our family has been eating at Blue Cow for years that we knew the owners & most of the help. With the latest change in ownership, the food is still good but miss the fruit on the breakfast plates! Please bring back the fruit.

The food is fine, it's hard to mess up breakfast food. It's the service that brings my review to only 2 stars. I went here twice hoping it was just a bad day, but the second day was even worse and not as busy! For such a small place i hoped to get in eat fast and leave but that was not the case. As we first walked in we are technologist and told to sit wherever we would like then 10 minutes later someone came for a drink order. There was two people watching over five tables and it seems like there is struggling both times. I love breakfast but this place I would never recommend

  • Scott V.

Awesome breakfast. Get here early because the place fills up quick. The staff is always polite, sometimes they are in a bit of a hurry but always nice. Ignore the complaints about "no place to wait" and "they got my order wrong" and it takes too long to get my food... This place looks like a shack on the outside - of course there is no waiting area.. Do yourself and the restaurant a favor - when it's busy don't ask for substitutions and special dietary restrictive plates. If you need a locally sourced organic Portlandia style meal try somewhere else. If you are in the mood for a great breakfast full of flavor and local color then this is the right place. Check out the specials on the board - they are truly special. I'm not a local nor am I a family member. Just a long time satisfied customer.

The mimosas and quesadillas were good and appeared fairly quickly after I ordered. There were almost no vegetarian options, which I'm used to but still think should change. I came back later and got a Dr. Pepper float... mmm! The server disappeared for a long time when I was done, and I finally went to the register and they found my ticket and I paid there. I probably wouldn't remember this place much, except that I got to take in the lovely surroundings from the back patio.

We come from Michigan about twice a year to visit our son's family in Kittredge and always make a stop at The Blue Cow. We went for breakfast yesterday and it was delicious! Their shred potatoes are the best and the fruit served was so good. Where do they get such great fruit this time of year? Only complaint would be the server did not keep the coffee coming. I do commend them on the fact that my husband left his credit card on the table...when I called two hours later, they had it at the cash register.

Food is below average. Service is worse. Our waiter seemed to be upset with his life. Don't waste your time or money.

Ok food at an ok price if you have lots of time to wait for it. Service has always been a little slow, but this last time was too much. After 45 minutes sitting at the table, we paid for our drinks and went somewhere else to eat.

  • Greg E.

We enjoy this place for breakfast and lunch. We never go if we are in a rush as they are often busy on the weekends. Service can be slow, but the food makes up for it. The Morrison scramble is great. The green chilie is good as well.

  • D H.

I don't even know where to begin. Don't go on a Sunday morning, because you'll be left standing directly in front of the front door. There isn't a place for overflow customers. We were seated at the table right outside of the bathrooms. There shouldn't even be a table there, for so many reasons! I ordered a cheese quesadilla. It was terrible! It had zero flavor and hardly any cheese. Their salsa was good but their homemade tortilla chips are a ripoff. My husband ordered one of their burgers. He was certain it would be tasty, but no! We waited longer for someone to bring our check than we did our food. What stinks the most is that we drove to Morrison just to eat at that restaurant. Don't waste your time!

We're from out of state, randomly stopped by very early on a Tuesday morning. I had one egg easy over with bacon, potatoes and wheat toast. Actually, waitress misunDerstood my order, but not big deal. Husband had ham and cheddar omelette with 1 pancake. He really liked his pancake. OJ was fine, but fresh squeezed grapefruit juice was better. They served Celestial tea, nicer than Lipton. atmosphere interesting, sort of quirky and also homey. YET, not comfortable because tables and chairs uncomfortable (cushions needed!). Would still recommend restaurant, it's like a diner and of same quality.

  • Vee O.

I have ate lunch here once, it was mediocre. I figure going here for an ice cream would not be a deal breaker. It took 20 minutes to be served and I was the third person getting a SHAKE. Unnacceptable its like good customer service doesnt matter to these people, no I will not be back.

Tried again- 45 minute wait to get a grilled cheese and a burger. The patio is great! Some older lady who wasn't our server got cranky with us when we told her the order she brought us wasn't what we ordered. She got in our faces and asked why we switched tables. The thing was- we didn't switch tables at all. Our food was cold when we got it. I'm over this place, too bad I really wanted to like it.

We were so disappointed today. We live about 5 minutes from the main drag of Morrison and are looking for a place we can hit on a weekend and this was not it. -Wait was quoted to 20 minutes. That was totally fine for a Sunday at 10am. We waited about 30. No problem there. -Table was what felt like the walkway between the main dining room and the porch right by the bathroom. Not terrible, as we had a 13mo old with us and we weren't crowded. -We got a coffee order in straight away and that came out pretty fast and that's where things went downhill. While it was a Sunday and busy, I expect some bit of communication if you're slammed. We waited nearly 30 minutes to place our order. It took about another 40 for it to come. No, really. For breakfast. During this time, no one checked on us, asked us if we wanted another latte or more coffee, or anything. When our food finally came, (two entrees, both "highlighted" on the menu) no one checked on us when we were eating. We finally saw the person who had taken our order when we were ready to leave. All this would have perhaps been okay if the food had been great. It wasn't... the green chili on both of our entrees was bland at best, as was the rest of the plate. I'm a pretty low maintenance customer, I never send things back, rarely complain and am usually willing to give a place a few chances. I'm not sure we will with the Blue Cow as the issue was not just the slow service or "meh" food, it was that no one seemed to even care we were there or take the time to check on us/ communicate anything. To add insult to injury, my husband and I both have upset stomachs at the moment. Coincidence? Who knows.

OK, so obviously this place has controversial reviews-- a lot of 1s and 5s. But if you know what to expect, this is a great place. Yes, the dining area is small, and that could lead to a long wait. But it makes a nice place for brunch or lunch if you have time to slow down and enjoy. I had a turkey avocado wrap that was extremely generous in size-- very filling and very flavorful. The servers were very friendly and very helpful. In fact, after we ordered, we said that everything looked good, and our server said (with obvious sincerity) "I love this place"-- when you can still say that after working there, that speaks loudly!

  • Alissa P.

My husband and I were always curious about the blue cow. Finally went there and we will never return. The food was not that great.... personally we could have done a better job making our orders at home. Nice service but not worth the wait for the food. Very mediocre.

  • Christobal R.

The food at this little town cafe was absolutely delicious! The only reason why I gave four stars was because the service was the slowest I ever had. Although my food was hot and tasty, we had to wait 25min to order. I would suggest eating on the patio and listing to the river while enjoying a family breakfast. This was my first time so I will be sure to go agian!

This is one of those places that you know will take some time. Seating takes time, ordering takes time, getting your food takes time, paying the bill takes time. So long as you know this upfront you can deal with it. But for one to enjoy a restaurant experience you need at least 2 out of 3 components - good service, pleasant ambiance/atmosphere and/or good food. Since I previously explained the service issues, that means this place needs good food AND good atmosphere. It only has the atmosphere. The place is cute and the patio is really nice as it sits along bear creek. The food had gone down hill these past few years. We were hoping that the new owners would infuse the menu with better cooking techniques, but no. Our scrambled eggs are always over-cooked. The home fries are greasy. The toast is often either over or under cooked. That said, you can tell they try to use quality ingredients. For example, all of the breakfast places include several pieces of fresh fruit (a strawberry, slice of melon, slice of orange, etc.) We want so badly to like this place but it keeps letting us down. We don't go for months or even a year and then it lets us down again. If you are in Morrison and need someplace to eat, go. Just be prepared for really slow service and potentially ill-prepared food. If the food is prepared well, it is actually quite good. But don't make it a destination.

  • Jacqueline E.

Great good. Cooked to order so be patient. Very busy on weekends due to the fact that they are on the way to Red Rocks. We enjoy their breakfast menu more than the lunch. Oh...awesome shakes!! Be prepared to wait for a table!!

The service can be hit and miss but the food is the best quality in this part of Morrison. We always go for breakfast so I can't speak to the other services. I've had just about everything on the breakfast menu and it doesn't disappoint. The only down side keeping me from giving it a 5 stars is that service can be a little slow and lackadaisical.

    (4)
  • Christine S.

It's good. Simple breakfast food served as one would expect from a small diner. Portions are a little bigger than average, pancakes and waffles yummy, eggs and home fries tasty, and the coffee is refilled often. I'm not a fan of the tiny dining space and the chairs aren't great... But, it totally beats Village Inn. Morrison is a picturesque little town and this place fits in well.

Sunday mornings can get busy especially if the weather is nice. Like other posts, service can be slow even when you order at the to go window with the intention of eating at the picnic tables outside.

I don't get why people come here. It's a tourist-y trap of a restaurant, I couldn't believe how terrible our experience was. We both got breakfast burritos. Smothered in ice cold red chili, full of gigantic pieces of UN cooked potatoes (seriously how hard is it to boil a potato), overall disgusting. The manager fixed our bill etc, but the entire ordeal cost us about 2 hours of our lives we won't get back. Service is slow, food is bleech, go up the hill a bit more to Bear Creek Cafe in Kitteridge.

Came here twice each time with slow rude service. both times didn't get what I ordered. I don't usually yelp places but this time I felt people needed to know.

My father and I were driving back from our summer home to Denver. We never can judge how long it will take. We got to Denver four hours before our flight so decided to go see the Red Rocks Park. Before we headed there we stopped to get a bite of lunch. As we drove up and down Bear Creek we weren't going to be picky. First parking spot got our business. Blue Cow had parking and in we went. Seat yourself. We sat at a two person table next to the counter. We waited about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Once they did they were friendly. Dad ordered the cheese steak sandwich and I ordered their special burger of the day. Blue cheese. Food was a bit slow to show up but usually that means it is made with care. Mine was ok. Nothing too special. My dad did not like his. He usually eats every last bite but after half he said it didn't taste right. He waved down the wait staff and asked if he could have a cup of coffee and he was just going to eat his side. Well the bill came before the coffee ever showed up. We actually paid the bill when the wait staff said oh wait didn't you want some coffee? Well, yes he did with his meal. Overall bla food and not the best service. It was a Saturday and very packed. It is also a tourist area so I never have too high of standards. If back in the area we will look harder for parking somewhere else.

Nice and friendly. Excellent food and a really quirky restaurant setting. It was good and fun. Sit on the patio, or in the front window. Either is great.

Extremely over priced for mediocre food. Staff has no clue about the menu items. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.... not sure why they are even busy except due to the location and tourist who probably never go back twice.

2012 Review #255: No complaints really. No big ones anyway. No big amazements, either. Cute little place- nice outside area with picnic tables, a walk-up window for to go orders and ice cream orders. They hav ea nice patio area by the creek, but they said it had a 45 minute wait (I think they made that up, because there was no one waiting for the patio). We chose a table inside right away. Service was a little scattered- we had more than one waitress, but our main server was very sweet. Food took a bit long, but was pretty tasty. I had an omelette, which is only made by creating your own, with either 2 eggs ($7) or 3 eggs ($8). All ingredients, including cheese, are $.60 each, but that also means that meats are that cheap too, so it balances it out. My omelet was pretty good, vegetables were cut a bit strangely (tomatoes were sliced, which was weird to me). The potatoes were really good, though needed some salt, and the wheat toast was much better than just sandwich bread. Unfortunately their jam is in those little peel-off packets and it was sort of old and congealed. I don't think the quality is very high. Prices are fair, food is pretty solid, but it wasn't anything I'd come running back for. Good for a late breakfast/brunch and nice views of the river.

Had breakfast this morning with a friend at this place. I ordered an omelet with fruit and toast. The food was pretty good, but the service was terribly slow. On a Sunday morning they get very busy, and they don't seem to have the staff to support it during a busy time.

  • Wxy Z.

Service and food quality are inconsistent. Sometimes pretty good. Other times disappointing. Last time I went, they weren't busy but it took over 55 minutes from the time I walked in until I received my breakfast.

Should have read the reviews before we tried this place out. After a 45 minute wait I finally had to ask our waitress for our food that the cook had put up on the counter 5-10 minutes earlier! My grilled cheese sandwich was cold... Yuck! My husband had to finally take a drink out of my cup because no one ever came to refill his water. Poor poor poor service and food! We will not be back!

I had the signature garden salad full of fresh veggies, and the green chili. Both were wonderful. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday in Morrison. This is a small tourist town that is almost always packed on the weekends, and in the warmer season due to Red Rocks. I sat at the counter and wasn't in a rush. I will be back with my husband to try other dishes when we are here.

The Blue Cow is a Morrison institution. From the Scramble Campbell paintings all over the walls to the loads of bikers coming by on the way back from a ride. The thing about Morrison is people are generally not in a hurry. So your meal may take a little bit longer, but that's just the way it's supposed to be. The food is solid all around, breakfast is a little better than lunch, but their drinks are fantastic. Service is friendly and you definitely feel like you are outside of the city. It's a nice place to stop by with out of town guests when you take them to see Red Rocks.

    (4)
  • Samuel W.

The problem with Morrison is that everyone is in a hurry to get to a concert. They show up to a full restaurant, 30 minutes before a show, expecting to be in and out. Then write a bad review because they set unattainable expectations. If you give yourself time to enjoy the Blue Cow (and other Morrison restaurants), you won't be disappointed.

The quaint small town atmosphere and the generous portions of good food make this place a keeper. The back patio is the best seating, if you can get it. Just had the French toast and Italian sausage with sunny side up eggs and it was fantastic, just what I was craving. And thank you to the owners for understanding that decaf coffee should taste every bit as good as leaded. I will go back!

Grabbed a soft-serve cone and a milkshake at the to-go window on our way through town. Cute little patio for to-go customers. Generous portions, good quality, and it's nice that they serve beer for the grown-ups.

Here's the email I sent to the owners: I've been in your restaurant many times but never had such an experience as today. I am sure you will hear about this from your staff, and if not, there is a real problem at hand. My husband and I had the day off together and decided to go to The Blue Cow for a positive and friendly experience. When we arrived, there was a steady stream of customers, but not too busy like the weekends, as expected. Our server was kind and took our orders for breakfast. When he took my order he asked if I wanted home fries or shredded. I asked for shredded. Simple enough. We got our breakfast served in about 10 minutes. All was well except I had home fries on my plate. The server said he'd just order a side of shredded for me. Simple enough. Ten minutes went by. Another server was walking near us and I asked if the shredded fries were going to be ready soon. She said it takes a little longer to cook them but they will be right up. About another 10 minutes goes by. I catch the eye of our original server and he gave me a worried look and a shrug about the shredded potatoes because he knew I was waiting. He mentioned it to the cook. In the meantime, I finished up my meal, and my husband was almost done. I thought I'd order a cup of tea and wait for my shredded potatoes. Another 5 minutes went by. No one came to our table so I couldn't even order the tea that I wanted. My husband stopped getting refills on his coffee. And still, no potatoes. I felt we were being avoided at this point. I saw our server running around and he looked at me and I at him and I said, "I can go back there and make the potatoes myself...", joking, trying to be light-hearted about the wait. The server turned around and told this to the cook (this should have not happened). The cook then looks right at me (you can see the kitchen from the dining room) and announces that I can come back and cook my own hash browns. Really? We had waited for over 20 minutes for these shredded potatoes, we were both done with our meals. What needed to happen was the cook needed to apologize and get the potatoes made right then and there. Our server should have come to the table and offered a discount and at least an apology. Simple enough. At that point, after being put off for so long, I could not hang out and see if the smart-mouthed cook was going to get the hash browns done. The servers offered no apologies or help in the situation. I told the young lady I would contact the owners because I didn't need back talk from the cook. My husband paid for our meal, but I really felt we should have just walked out without paying anything. What is more unbelievable is that the woman who took our money did not even offer an apology, discount or coupon. Nothing! At the very least, there should have been an apology. However, what we got was just silence. What is very sad is that no one would take responsibility for what was going on. We were both ignored. Then, got attitude on top of it. I am sure my husband and I are small fish in a large pond of customers and that this experience will be wrote off as another isolated, unhappy customer. However, I will post my complaint on Yelp and pass the word around to my friends, family and co-workers about the declining service at your restaurant. Your service has wavered in the past (mostly long waits), but not to this extreme. It is sad, because there are not many cozy, friendly places to eat around this area. I had always counted on your place as a mainstay. But I don't need the cook talking back at me, I don't need the servers ignoring me and I don't need to pay for something that I didn't want in the first place. What I need as a customer is quality customer service when I am paying for a meal at a restaurant. In this day and age, its a valuable distinction for a restaurant. There are other comfortable cafes we will go to in the future (and yes, drive further) for good service and food. In the end, it's well worth it.

What happened to the Cow??....it Starts with the service. My wife and I returned to the Cow after a couple of years and were quite disappointed. The Server complained to her coworkers about how tired she was (due to her 2 AM Bedtime the night before) - in clear earshot of us and it was quite evident in her attention to detail.. My coffee didn't get refilled routinely, and we didnt get a full set of silverware (and we sat at the bar) The Breakfast burrito was fair at best. Not sure what kind of Sausage....or Cheese...the cook clearly demonstrated his microwave skills on each burrito he warmed up prior to serving. The quest continues for a good breakfast in the Western suburbs.

Pretty sad excuse for a restaurant. No one bothered to guide us to sit down. Table wasn't bussed. We ordered and 90 mins later we got our food. I started telling people to go elsewhere while we let kids run around outside. The food was probably level with a bowling alley. Sad day...great town and people but that place needs to go under already.

If you're in Morrison for a good time in the outdoors or here to see a show at Red Rocks, this place serves up a pretty good brunch/lunch. That is if you have the patience to get it. Food: My friend and I threw caution to the wind and pigged out on two plates of the most carb heavy items imaginable. We wanted to split something sweet and something savory, so we opted for the special of the day, the lemon raspberry pancakes ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Y0qg… ) and the mouthwatering biscuits and gravy ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Y0qg… ). Both plates came with a meager side of fruit slices so thin I thought they were cut with a mandolin. That said, both dishes tasted amazing (or maybe I was just super hungry after an action-packed morning). Atmosphere: This place was packed when we arrived. In addition to hordes of people, you will also see a plethora of blue cow items strewn around the premises. If that wasn't enough for you, they have a couple huge paintings of the restaurant itself, complete with the giant blue cow sign ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Y0qg… ). There's a lovely patio outside ( yelp.com/biz_photos/Y0qg… ) with enough wildflowers and sunshine (at least in summer) to make anyone smile. Service: The waits will make you want to tear your eyes out. Not sure if this place is family owned or what, but the current model is obviously not working. We must have waited more than half an hour before getting our food. The waiting doesn't end there though. You'll also have to wait to get napkins, condiments (actually we had to eventually beg at the counter for some ketchup), and just about anything else. Synopsis: Do not come here if you are in a hurry or are at all impatient. Do come here if you're in the mood for some downright delicious brunch items.

Orderd the featured grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon . Wife ordered Grilled cheese with onions. Both were served cold the fries were too cold to eat, mine didn't come with bacon but hers did. The server offered to remake them but it wasn't worth the extra 20 min wait. Not a good impression at all Maybe just having a bad day in the kitchen, but you know with so many good options its not going to get a second chance from me

I've been here two times within a couple of months. The first experience was awful. The burrito I got was mildly warm and the waiter we had was so incredibly rude I contemplated leaving him no tip at all. The second time we went the experience was slightly better. My food was at least heated all the way through. However, not one person acknowledged us when we walked in. The place was packed and we were shoved outside with a heater that didn't even work. It was 20 degrees outside and I had a 4 year old with me. We again got the same awful waiter we had during our first visit and his attitude was still just as nasty. I will not be returning here any time soon.

Would have loved to try Charlie's famous breakfast burrito, but after 45 minutes we still hadn't received the two breakfast burritos we ordered. We gave up and left hungry. Don't know what the deal was, but the service issue appears to be a consistent problem. There were 3 people working the back patio, which should have been plenty. While waiting for our order, we did watch as a large two table group with several small children finished their meal and left. The two tables were cleared of dishes and split apart, but never wiped down after the previous large party left. Eww! We live near Morrison, but won't be back to eat here.

The three in my party all agreed this was the worst service we have ever received. We were seated at a table 5ft from the restroom, ordered 3 meals, of which one was brought to the table after a significant wait. The waitress was nowhere to be found and we had to go looking for someone on at least 4 occasions to (1) ask for the other 2 meals, of which only 1 eventually arrived (2) ask for water and (3) get coffee refilled. When the check finally arrived (about 90mjn after our arrival at the Blue Cow) the person who brought it was pleased to report that she did not charge us for the meal that never arrived - thanks a ton.

Will not return!! We waited over 50 minutes for our food and the fish n chips was dripping in grease and looked gray on the inside. Yuck! Staff was not friendly and could not have cared less that we waited that long. We saw our server once and then she never returned and had to ask another server to help us. The other server/ cashier was also unfriendly and made no apology for waiting almost an hour for food. The other food we ordered was below average and overpriced...this was seriously one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and whoever owns this restaurant should be embarrassed and teach their employees how to treat their customers....horrible experience!!!!!

The food is only OK, but I found the staff to be unfriendly, unhappy, and on the rude side. The spaghetti is too sweet and the garlic bread is saturated with butter and an undiscriminating use of salty/garlic salt. We had a burger, too, and it was pretty good with crisp bacon and decently prepared meat. The fries are very good. The service, though, just ruined it for me. When the wait staff is unfriendly and grouchy--who needs it with so many other great options. Will NOT be back ever.

We love it here. Owners are great, just know that you can seat yourself somewhat and that they don't have 45 people on staff for this size of a restaurant. The BLT is our favorite!

This was our 4-5th time here. Service has always been slow but it was so incredibly bad we finally left. Had to ask for menus after 20 min of being ignored then after another 20 min and the waitress taking the orders of 2 tables seated after us we couldn't be patient any longer. We had 2 kids with us so hungry on the verge of meltdown. Really disappointing- we won't return

Great small town restaurant with fresh food and great variety. Stream in the back with seating and front outdoor seating as well. Service was friendly and food great. I had the bison meatloaf sandwich and my wife had the Cubana sandwich. Kids cheeseburger was good perfectly. Highly recommended.

I have had lunch twice at this place, and I have to say I went in the first time because of the unique fun name. Both times I sat outside on the patio and although the servers seem a bit confused at times I have always been well taken care of. I ordered sandwiches both times and both times they were truly delicious and the way a sandwich should be... fresh fresh. The second time I visited I also ordered a side salad that was truly unique and a must have if you are ok with a variety of non salad veggies on your salad such as brussel sprouts.

Unbelievably slow. Even for a relaxed mountain place, this is ridiculous. We ordered a bowl of granola/fruit and an egg sandwich, after about 30 minutes of waiting for the waitress. Then we waited a full hour for our food. An hour, for granola and an egg sandwich. No apology or explanation. So our modest breakfast took almost two hours out of our day. The guy next to us left after 30 minutes of holding a menu and looking, longingly, at a the waitstaff who never acknowledged him at all. He got off easy. I wouldn't go to Blue Cow in the morning, unless you want to spend your morning at Blue Cow.

First, the good: The breakfast was absolutely delicious. My party had an omelette and waffles and all came out flanked by fresh seasonal fruit - an unexpected and very welcome bonus. Prices were decent and definitely fitting for the quality. Second, the ugly: The service was horrible. We sat ourselves after standing like morons by the front door for about a minute, never receiving acknowledgement from the staff. After we sat, we waited another few minutes before we were given menus... Then another few minutes before drink orders were taken by a young guy who told us he wasn't our actual server, so he couldn't take our food order too (I did appreciate him bringing our drinks out quickly though...). Finally, our orders were taken and our yummy food came out about 15 min later and then we were never checked on again. I flagged down our waitress twice, once asking for napkins and the other time for a refill and I never saw either. And then after an eternity, someone else brought our check. It's a total bummer that their sucky service overshadowed their yummy food. Let me also stress that the place was not that busy, so there was really no excuse.

We stopped by at 8:45 AM on a Sunday morning. When we walked in the restaurant, no one acknowledged us so we figured we should seat ourselves as there were a few open tables. We sat down close to the counter in plain sight, and numerous waiters walked by filling up coffee, delivering food, etc. One waitress even said someone would be with us shortly. We waited for 15 minutes to get menus. People came in after us, were seated and given menus. We ended up walking out and no one said a thing. We won't be back.

The food is not what you would expect from an old building with blue cows on it.I expected a greasy spoon with a gut busting menu, but I was very surprised by the quality and healthier options available. I have returned several times and they are always very consistent and quite yummy. It is in the touristy town of Morrison so the ticket may shock you in the end but the quality of food keeps me going back

Stopped in for breakfast this morning and this place was packed! I figured it must be good. No disappointment here. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. I also sampled fried eggs over medium with bacon, crispy. My wife's breakfast was great and she mentioned the fruit bowl was one of the best. We had great service and had an opportunity to meet the owners. They are very attentive to their customers. We will be back for sure!!! All I can say is WTF "what tremendous food"!

Blue Cow, a long standing Morrison Breakfast joint, recently changed hands and the new owners have really improved it! Customer service, seating, and even the menu have improved! The back patio was closed in the last time I went, so I am not sure if it is open anymore to the elements. My favorite is always the heuvos rancheros, and my breakfast buddy got the french toast. It was delicious!

I am giving this place 2 stars even though the only thing I tried was their water. My wife and I stopped in for dinner on our way to a concert at Red Rocks. There were 2 other small groups but the rest was empty. We sat down and ordered with high hopes. After about 10 min of waiting for our food 2 other people came in and sat at the bar and ordered. While we continued to wait the people at the bar received their food and began to eat. The food looked good (hence 2 stars). 30min after ordering our food we could not wait any longer. I walked up to the bar and asked when our food would be ready as we would have to leave. The woman checked with the kitchen and told us it would be at least another 5 min. I told here I couldn't wait any longer, she was not rude but offered no apology for the food taking so long. I got the sense that this is normal as she didn't seem to alarmed. We will not be going back. In addition to our bad service the table behind us didn't receive their full order, it was the kids food that didn't show up. As a result the kids were hungry and started to get louder and louder and more unhappy. Again I don't think I heard the waitress apologize she just said "oh im not sure how we forgot that" Others may have a better experience and the food may be amazing, but we will never know. Good luck!

Wasn't sure what to expect based upon reviews by others. The Cow was very busy on this Saturday morning and seating for our group took some time, not complaining however - just be prepared if you have a larger party. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffees were all good, from the hot black stuff to the espressos. Ordered and meals arrived, everyone seemed pleased with their selections. The highest praise I can offer is the willingness to return and try something else the next time I'm in the area.

Only because I can't give it 0 stars. Complete joke. Took 45 minutes to process 9 people getting soft serve ice cream. 4 out of 9 were incorrect and had to be re-made. Watched 3 separate groups leave after waiting 20+ minutes in line with no service. Don't waste your time on this dump!

Needed a place that was dog friendly to eat before our hike. Found this place. Estimated wait was 10-15 minutes and took 40. When we did get back to the patio there were many free tables not sure what the wait was about. Waiter was pretty rude. People who got sat after us got their food before us and the food was not worth the wait. BLTs were boring and they were out of avocados on top of it. Chocolate shake was good though. Sweet potato fries tasted like onion rings. Will not go back.

I'm really surprised this isn't rated higher. Ate there this morning (Saturday at 8:00). Got seated right away. Good consistent service throughout the meal. Coffee stayed topped off. Breakfast was delicious. Had the Morrison Scramble (essentially a Denver scramble with ham, cheese, tomato and peppers) with sourdough bread and diced potatoes. Everything tasted fresh. Portions were very good. Wish I could've eaten it all! Would definitely come here again for breakfast when I'm in Morrison again. Prices very reasonable compared to similar types of diners.

I went here for a business brunch on a Wednesday morning, so there were a lot of empty seats to choose from. It's a cute little cafe and it sits right next to Bear Creek in Morrison so the scenery outside is beautiful. The menu had the usual brunch selections. I ordered a custom omelette and it was nothing special. The potatoes it came with were bland, but I liked that it came with a slice of watermelon. The average food wouldn't really draw me to come back, but the location would.

Good food. Plenty of choices. Busy busy busy! Servers get a bit frenzied. Yelp needs to fix the map location which is completely wrong. The Santa Fe Scramble was tasty but even too spicy for me.

After going to the Blue Cow, I had to give myself a few days before writing this review. Mainly because of the level or disappointment, disgust and irritation I have regarding this little eatery. Where to start... I for the most part heard good things about this place. I had been there once before and the service wasn't too bad. How can ordering one ice cream cone from the take out window really be tough. let's just bullet point this experience: - service= terrible, rude, inattentive. {roommate ordered a drink, it never came. forget about a water refill... that never happened. Our food took FOREVER- we almost left. Our food came cold. Roommate tried to tell the server it was cold and gross. Instead of a "sorry" she got an eye roll and the waitress walked away before roommate had finished her sentence.} - food= gross & cold. {I ordered french fries and they were cold. Roommate ordered grilled cheese. it was old and cold. Roommates son ordered a corn dog. He seemed to be pleased} - cleanliness= disgusting. {the amount of flies that were in there should have been the number one indicator telling me to just turn around and walk out. Table was gross. Ketchup bottle had some gross black stuff around the top. I could see one of the guys who worked there making drinks dripping sweat into the drinks he was making. TRUE STORY.} For reasons listed above I don't know if I will give this place a 2nd chance. The flies and sweaty drinks are enough to force a safe distance between me and The Blue Cow. I would really love to say something positive but I really, can't think of anything... WAIT!!! ...The soft serve ice cream through the to-go window is FAB!

Tried to eat here, went last Saturday during the races at Bandimere. Waited, waited waited, a server walked by several times, tried to get her attention, waited waited and finally just left. The place was busy. We wanted to sit outside where there was a table for just the two of us. Won't go back. At least the server (blonde female) would've acknowledged us, she was huffing, puffing, looked irritated. Clearly if you are busy, you should hire friendly staff that is used to the crowd of people. I would've gladly stayed if she just would have said one thing at all...oh well, went across the street and found friendly service and good food so it was for the best...

Horrible service. We were ignored, our order was misplaced - despite being told it was "on it's way" for an hour. There were no apologies when we never got our food. We left hungry and upset. I do not recommend this place at all. I don't know what problem the staff has, but they are unfriendly and frankly, the most rude I have ever encountered.

The food was great! The service was questionable at best... The burger was juicy and flavorful, a roasted green chile option and fresh jalapenos available, always a good sign! Big fan of the onion rings, big with the smooth crisp batter that I really like! Our server was seemingly unhappy and bothered by our presence... The service most definitely cost The Blue Cow a star...

The food was honestly amazing, the staff were very friendly, but the service was less than fine. Mind you it was a Sunday late (11 AM) morning for breakfast... However, in a diner like this it shouldn't take three pours of coffee (all very spaced out) before we receive our food. It took over 40 minutes (hubby ordered biscuits and gravy & I had the tamale Benedict). Also it took an additional 15min to just get the check. Hands down, my husband and I will go back because the food was honestly that terrific. But I keep my fingers crossed this establishment can shave some time in the future. Bottom-line: go here expecting great food, but go in knowing and having a lot of time to spare.

Morrison is a quirky little town next to one of the most beautiful venues of all time. The Blue Cow is the quirky little diner in the middle of this quirky town. It looks like a gentrified diner. Eclectic and cozy. They serve beer, wine, and espresso. I had a latte, however the coffee was a bit burnt. I sat underneath a painting of Morrison. I actually couldn't stop looking at it. The had a George Rodrigue (The Blue Dog series) look to it. Everything had thick blue lines; fitting for the town on that cold day. Oh, I also want to mention the bathroom. Nothing special, however when I entered I was overtaken by the subtle scent of dried roses. There was a pole along one wall that was covered in bouquets of dried roses. Eleven of them from floor to ceiling.

Ahhh Morrison, CO...cute lil area to visit on a beautiful day like today...cool breeze, warm sun, Harley purrs in the distance and the rush of mountain water coming down in the background from the patio. Retro diner food decor puts you at ease. Have always had great service whether stopping with a group or just a 2 top. Love their burgers and salads but never to be over looked the best Arnold Palmer that has ever crossed these luscious lips. Great place to stop from any lil trip hiking, biking or getting some time away at Red Rocks.

After reading lots of comments about how bad the service was, I was a bit reluctant to go....but what a mistake that would have been!! We sat on the (covered) patio, service was GREAT....and the food REALLY good!! I had the fish sandwich - crispy, tasty...and the fries were fresh and HOT. Friend had a BLT....I could not believe the amount of bacon in the sandwich! Iced Tea freshly brewed and very good. It's definitely on my repeat list!

What it is: A locally owned business. Eclectic with good food. What is isn't: Fast, attentive After a workout at Redrocks we drove thru Morrison and stopped here to get some lunch. We sat at an available table for 4 and were immediately told there was a wait (I could see another table for 5 open), so we put in our names and went to wait outside. While waiting, I had a chance to study the specials board and decided on the salmon benedict. We were finally seated and able to order. I ordered the salmon benedict (had my heart set on salmon) and was told they were no longer serving breakfast, so I had to choose something else. I grabbed the menu quickly ordered something else. Moments later a new specials board went up. Featured was a salmon salad. Being hungry and told I couldn't have the salmon, my irritation went from a 4 to a 10. My husband, seeing how irate I was summoned the waitress. He said he was probably too late but if at all possible, we'd like to change my order. The waitress said, "oh, probably not" so we changed my order to the salad. The big deal? She had to have known what the lunch specials were and salmon was included. To her credit she was very nice but I was clearly disappointed when she told me I couldn't have salmon to eat (for breakfast...it was 12:30ish). It took forever to get out food but when it came it was quite tasty. I loved my salad. It was hearty and filling. Having said all that, here's the thing: Go there when you are NOT hungry because by the time you've been seated, ordered and get your food you will be starving! If you get there when you are already hungry you will not have a happy experience. If I ever go there again, I'll only go if it's not busy and I'm not starving.

well, we stopped in on a whim to grab and bite and get out of Denver and this place is one of the restaurants we have yet to go to in Morrison so why not! what stood out to me was the name ofcoarse but when i got into the place the aroma of the grill was so pleasing i went from slightly ready to eat to completely ready to eat! I had the ruben sandwich which i must say was just simply delish. the atmosphere was very pleasing where we could watch the people walking around the town shopping. will be back again soon!

There's a small stretch of restaurants in the enclave of Morrison and the diner ambience enticed me to give it a try. It's a fairly small place with a patio in the back where people were eating in the sunshine with their dogs. The location is also convenient, right near the entrance to Red Rocks. The inside is non-descript. A few tables with a small counter near the register are most of the decoration. They have a few specials here that were interesting and I had the chocolate shake and the guacamole burger. The shake was well done; the thick and creamy type that you remember as a kid. The burger leans towards your average hamburger, but the guacamole was interesting. Probably at least average diner food, perhaps slightly better. A comment about service is in order. There have been several reviews before mine and I have to agree with the majority view that the service is woeful. My story: I had been doing some trail running in the foothills nearby and though it would be a nice local place to grab some post-run grub. When I first walked in, there was one group on the patio, two people at two tables each and a police officer eating at the counter. After looking around for a few seconds, I grabbed a seat at one of the open tables near the register. There were two waiters serving these four groups and neither greeted me even though they had to walk past my table. After about 5 minutes of this, I walked up to the counter and picked up a menu. Another 5-10 minutes passed, even after I closed the menu and gazed hopefully at the waiters. Being the passive-aggressive sort, I then pushed the opposite chair with my foot into the middle of the room; so that they would have to physically move the chair to cross to the other side. This got one of the waiters' attention and I was greeted with a "whatcha want" and a glare. "To order?", I answered, which was met with a continued glare. So I gave my order which summoned at least a curt nod from the server. Another five minutes passed and my shake was delivered without comment in front of me. Another fifteen minutes later the burger (and fries) were delivered from behind me: this was just dropped on the table in front of me as the server walked by without comment.....even rattling a little before it settled on the table. When I wanted to leave, I had to walk up to the counter and ask for my bill. Now, there are some alternative explanations for poor service. It's possible this is a locals-only place and I was viewed with suspicion. ("We don't serve your kind here...."). It's possible that they don't like sweaty people in the establishment as I had just finished running. It's also possible that there is an ordinance in Morrison that bans serving food to people in shorts and they were actually doing me a grand favor by bringing me anything at all. However, since I don't really know if any of these explanations are true, I'm just going to have to call the staff downright surly. A bit of a pity, because the food is closer to the three-four star range and with a more pleasant atmosphere, this could be a four-star type of place. I suppose if you still want to try this place (or perhaps are wearing pants), go for the shakes.

Our waiter was in an obviously bad mood and communicated it to us--snapping about drink sizes, etc. He also did not let us know the kitchen was 35 minutes behind until we inquired about where our food was. The food didn't redeem the service, either, unfortunately--pretty pedestrian but pricey regardless.

This place gave me and my husband the worst service we've ever gotten in our entire lives, and I'm counting the time we were kicked out of a restaurant in Paris. Their service is dismal, as other reviewers have noted. We were also ignored for a while on stepping in to the restaurant. We finally spoke to a waiter and placed to go orders. An hour later, having checked on the status of our order several times in the interim, I finally asked for a refund and we left, hungrier than ever. The only explanation I got was that the kitchen never received our order; if that's the case I don't know why we were repeatedly assured that "the food just got on the grill, it'll only be a few more minutes." No apology or explanation for why they kept telling us our food was almost ready if their cover story was that the kitchen never got the order. I can't speak to the taste of their food, since we never got it, but the plastic-wrapped pastries looked old, dry and thoroughly unappealing. I did order and try to drink a hot chocolate while we were waiting. It was the vilest hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. I don't understand how you can mess up a drink that's just milk and some sort of powder or syrup. As a further indication of how crappy their service is, they didn't even offer to refund the cost of my beverage. I, like the previous reviewer, would also give zero stars if that were an option. The place is really that bad.

The Blue Cow does one thing well... Ice Cream. Their food otherwise is not much better than a Denny's or a Perkins. They do have a nice patio that backs to the River/Creek running through Morrison. They also have an ice cream window in the front which won't require you to eat inside.

I have waited a month to let myself cool off before writing this review. I have never received such poor service as I did when I visited this restaurant. My family and I sat at our table for 30 minutes before anyone brought us menus or water (this was after waiting for a table for 45 mins). No one came back to take our order for another 40 minutes or so, finally my mother went to get someone to let them know we needed to order. Our food took 25 minutes to get to our table, our orders were messed up. I ordered waffles with strawberries. I was told when they brought my waffles without strawberries that they were out of strawberries. NO syrup came with the waffles. NO one came back to our table, I got up to ask for syrup and was told it would be brought to my table. This was true but everyone had finished eating and after going to get the check and then taking the payment back to the waitress my syrup was brought. I will never eat here again. We wasted over three hours at this place. On a good note the waffles were tasty even without syrup and strawberries.

We went to The Blue Cow with friends from out of town. We were starving after a big morning and were ready for some yummy food. Since we went when it was a beautiful yet chilly day we opted for sitting inside. A group of 7 is big, and one table was able to fit us all with very little personal space. The food was good, the wait staff was there, and prices were a little high. Would I make a special trip to go there? No, however maybe next time we are up that direction we might stop in for some soft serve.

I liked it. It is better than the Morrison Inn down the road, and right on par with Tony Rigatoni's. It's difficult to get a table on the weekend because everyone in Denver seems to want to dine there, and the place does not serve "fast" food. Leave time for waiting and enjoying company even if you are there when there is no crowd - (it almost never happens). You best bet is to go there early in the morning in the middle of the week. You won't be disappointed. They have good coffee, and a nice variety of healthy options, including vegetarian and vegan selections. Anyone who enjoys breakfast can find something to eat here, and, even if they don't, it's just plain nice to sip coffee sitting just yards from Clear Creek and in the shadow of Red Rocks Ampitheater. This is a special place, and anyone going through the area should stop to give it a try.

I have only ever eaten breakfast here, but I LOVE it! It is a cute little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that my husband and I take almost all of our guests to for breakfast. Sometimes it takes a little long to get the food, but hey, it is never anything short of fabulous....and we have never had one guest complain. But, can one really complain about a little dive restaurant that has amazing breakfast and serves Mooogaritas?!!? I think now.

Stopped in , not too busy there were a couple open tables and no wait. We sat at the counter because it's fun to watch the kitchen. The waitress ignored us. Couldn't even bother to give us menus or water or tell us she would be back. Waitress Essentials 101 was a class she must have skipped. And in case you think we may be the types of people who are predisposed to getting super fast service--we are not; we had all afternoon. After at least 10 minutes a guy asks us what we want to drink so we order shakes. They finally came (yeah, another 10 minutes) and were pretty good, but still no order for our food. I asked him if we could order and he said all snotty-like: "I'm getting to you." All we wanted were fries, for pete's sake--how hard is that? Especially in a half empty restaurant. FINALLY took our order. A full 15 minutes later NO FRIES. We got up and when I went to pay the bill some guy gave ME a hard time for wasting the fries which finally came up as we were leaving. What an a**!! I honestly got the feeling that they did not like the fact that we were a mixed couple and LEZZIES to boot. Ya think? I am glad we sat at the counter--we could see if they were to spit in our food.... Should be renamed the Blue Cow PIE. If I could give it a no stars rating I would.

My husband and I visited the Blue Cow on Saturday morning for our first stop of several for the day. We opted for the patio and what a delight! The room is cozy, warm and very inviting. I was dressed for summer and actually had to move away from the heater they had running out there... The food and service was fantastic as always. The Bloody Mary was quite tasty as well. Great way to start out our day.

I write this review with a heavy heart and resistance to post even one star. If I could leave the above star rating dis-illuminated, I would. I have been to the Blue Cow on many a bright afternoon to treat Munchkin to some soft serve from their outdoor window, or to grab breakfast after a hunger-inducing workout routine at Red Rocks. I once tried their Eggs Benedict with Salmon special and found myself happily fulfilled with the food. Small, privately owned breakfast cafes have a special place in my heart, and I almost made room for Blue Cow. My most recent visit, however, will most likely be my last. It was a Sunday afternoon. Roommate, Munchkin and I decided to make ourselves look a little cuter than usual so that we could enjoy the gorgeous day while doing anything we wanted. Since we frequent Morrison, we decided we'd grab a light lunch after "visiting our new clothes" at the boutiques across the street. Sadly, our light lunch turned into a dark disaster. While I will not place all the blame on the cafe for their lack of vegetarian options, I still feel the need to say: they seriously lack vegetarian options. I settled for a ridiculously priced grilled cheese and tomato sandwich which arrived after the time my drink should have arrived (but never did). The late plate landed next to my empty glass of water (refilled once during the hour and a half). I am not one to exaggerate; by late, I do mean late: 45 minutes late. As though its delayed arrival wasn't bad enough, the cheese in the middle had already congealed to a tough, gross texture which I did not dare bite. The server snarled her response to my polite anouncement regarding the sandwich's late arrival and hardened status. (She asked if I wanted a box, and I explained why I didn't). She later proceeded to smack a full price check down on the table. I hesitantly left cash without a tip (an extremely rare occasion for me). I get that it's tough when small businesses are short-staffed or unusually busy. I'm even willing to put up with a wait as long as the food is hot and the service is good. But it was so bad that I felt guilty for not warning the hungry, well-intentioned patrons who were waiting for a table. Unfortunately, the unreasonable wait, the gross sandwich, and the lack of service have left a dark cloud lingering over a cafe that previously had a bright future in my heart. Good-bye, Blue Cow Cafe. I honestly do wish you a better life.

What's great about this place is that doesn't claim to be anything more than what it is: a genuine, friendly and locally owned restaurant that offers good food at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for these days? Across the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus there are some nice standouts that include the chicken tortilla soup, the salads, and anything with a southwest theme. The salads sparkle with dark leafy greens and unusual vegetables. I'm additcted to the tortilla soup. All of their soups are home made. They're open for dinner in the summer. a word of warning: it gets really busy for weekend breakfast, so be prepared to wait a bit, but you'll be rewarded with something that wasn't created in a test kitchen two time zones away, and, chances are, the owner will be standing behind the counter. If you have any wildlife questions, ask for Scotty the Ranger.

Wow....I was really surprised to read some of the other reviews on here. We had a great experience at The Blue Cow. With that said, we went there late one evening after an evening mountain biking ride. I was literally dragged there by my friends (because they couldn't possibly serve good, healthy food at a place called The Blue Cow, could they?). I LOVED the salmon salad and have been itching to go back ever since. We didn't have any problem with the service, but it also wasn't very busy.

Like you will read on most reviews, this place isn't much to look at from the outside. However, if you are looking for some homestyle cooking with some flair, this is the place to go! The biscuits and gravy are delicious - not heavy, but will fill you up. I will be back!!

We had heard alot about the Blue Cow, we were saddened to find out that it was soooo wrong. To be fair we have given them more than one chance and they fell down every time. We came in on a weekday morning, not busy at all, we were met with a "don't really care much you are here" attitude and negligent service. We were never really sure who was supposed to be waiting on us as the same person never came to the table twice. The food was just plain bad, I ordered biscuits and gravy and got torn and mangled biscuits with a watery gravy that had little sausage in it. At least I got a fair amount of food though, my fiance got a breakfast souffle, a tiny portion that left so much empty plate I was appalled. The biggest thing on her plate and the most tasty on both was the fruit garnish. It is apparent they care more about the paintings and self promotion than they do their food and service. As locals we believe in supporting our community however this is one business that is not deserving. We will not be back.

This place was so great!! We stopped in because we had a dog with us and they have a patio. The informed us they don't serve food on the front patio, but they have one in the back with heat lamps that we could sit at. They were so helpful and opened up the side of the patio to let our dog come through so she wouldn't have to wait in the car. We had sandwiches and cheeseburgers, all of which was delicious. The meat was really great. But the best thing was the side salad I got with my cheeseburger. It was a mixture of greens, tomatoes, French green beans, snap peas, sunflower seeds, black radishes and golden beets. It was one of the best salads I have ever had. Our server was really friendly and helpful. We were all super impressed and will definitely be back soon!

My husband and I stopped in at The Blue Cow after having it recommended by a friend. We're glad we did! We both got burgers and they were awesome. I got fries and they were average. My husband got the onion rings and said they were great! Service was fine, and we didn't have any of the issues with being ignored that other people have reported. Overall a great experience and will be going back when I get another craving for a good burger.

I LOVE this place. My fiance and I were in Morrison and we were hungry and it came up as the closest place on my GPS. I love the cute little area it's in. I think it's just so quaint in that area, and even in the restaurant it feels really homey. I had the filet mignon and I have never had beef cooked better. Their chefs really know what they're doing. My fiance had a burger (I don't remember which kind it was, all I know is that it was spicy) and he loved it too. I was really pleased with the price and the staff was exceptional. I am dying to go back!

The Blue Cow is one of our favorite places to eat. We live near Morrison, so we go there often. If you are planning to have dinner before a show at Red Rocks or are wanting breakfast on the weekend, plan ahead. The food is cooked to order and it does take some time. Their daily specials are fresh, unique and always good but they sometimes sell out of a particular item (especially the muffins). My favorites are the Cuban sandwich and blackberry pancakes. The service can be a little slow at times (depending on how crowded they are) but I have never experienced the issues that other reviewers mentioned.

Not a bad place to stop for a post-hike meal and a brew. It kind of goes for 50's retro diner food without stainless steel everywhere. The sandwiches are pretty good, including a decent cubano. I appreciate a good soda fountain, and I would classify this one as adequate. Maybe its not your first choice when in Morrison and the Inn is packed, but its not a bad alternative.

I have never experienced the service issues that others have commented on at the Blue Cow, and my husband and I eat there frequently. In my opinion it is one of the better breakfast spots in that vicinity - The food always seems very fresh (My favorite is the breakfast burrito), excellent cappuccinos, and an incredible patio.

I, honestly, have to tell you this is one of my favorite breakfast places. The service is fast, attentive and the food is always good. Everyone has been friendly and courtesy. I am pretty surprised by the other reviews. My husband and I go probably twice a month. We had a blueberry coffee cake last week that was fantastic.
