Just go. Splurge, eat the french fries and all the ice creams, just do it. Best value in Colorado, seriously, the fries are so good and you can't beat the prices. Wat your ice cream here, before you drive up to Estes. Its homemade and magical, every flavor I try makes me want more. Kids working there are all so cute and friendly. This place is one of a kind, a true gem that makes me happy small town AMerica still exists in places like Lyons, so do your part to keep them alive and thriving. Go eat ice cream cones. Now.

Delicious ice cream! Very simple walk-up window with a few plastic chairs outside but the ice cream makes all that irrelevant. We love going here for a treat on our way to RMNP. P.S. I noticed that some reviews trashed the fries and hamburgers - well, this is really an ice cream place - that is why everyone goes here. Eat your meal elsewhere but stop here for the yummy desert.

Better than average roadside ice cream joint on the main highway through Lyons. We stopped to let the pooch have a drink, and we ordered treats. Great menu of fancy flavors! I enjoyed a waffle cone with Vanilla Sea Salt Caramel ( it was enormous: I've ruined dinner), and my daughter had a scoop of birthday cake. Less than $5 for both- great deal! This joint definitely competes with Colorado's best like Bonnie Brae and Little Man. Plus, free stickers!!!

One of my favorite places in Lyons. They make THE BEST ice cream and the flavors vary daily. My current favorites are the Sea Salt Caramel and Birthday Cake. OMG are they delicious! One day we will try the food, which smells fantastic. We love you, Dairy Bar!

Here's my thought on the Dairy Bar. Great ice cream, shakes, floats (try the lemon gelato float when it's hot...). With food you have to be a bit selective to get really good stuff: reuben, chicken reuben (don't think that's on the menu, but it's good), and their specialty burgers. I will give them 5stars for the ice cream, shakes, and other cool summer items. Food gets 5stars b/c Lyons doesn't have any quick options for lunch taht i like and if you know what to pick, it's definitely good.

Waaaaay overpriced!! $6 for a hamburger the size and exact quality of the $1 McDonalds cheeseburgers. Fries so salty you can't eat them. Total disappointment.

A nice little place to stop by and get ice cream! I got some chocolate ice cream and it hit the spot after having lunch over at Oskar Blues! Refreshing and cute! Definitely intended for the summer months of the year because they have no indoor seating, just outside pic nic tables or your car!

Swung by for some soft serve ice cream, which was excellent. Friendly staff. Some local kids ordered hot italian beef sandwiches which smelled quite good, and they were definitely enjoying them. I'll be back!

First of all I'm a big fan of small locally owned and operated little places like this. Sadly the Lyons Dairy bar falls far short of what places like this can be. The cheeseburger was a huge disappointment. The taste and texture of the meat left much to be desired, and at $6 I expected it to be fully dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Sadly these standard toppings cost an additional $0.50 each. A point which wasn't very clear on the menu.

My dad and I stopped by here today. I ordered a single scoop of ice cream in a cup and he ordered a chocolate malt. Together it cost over $11. Lyons isn't enough of a tourist town to justify that high of a price. My single scoop was small and my dad's chocolate malt was the consistency of chocolate milk. That isn't how it's supposed to be done, especially for that price. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Mecca of nostalgia!! I have been going to the Dairy Bar ever since I was a kid and it is a symbol of summer in my mind. Their ice cream menu is always changing and I skip giddily to the front to check out what they have on rotation. They have a decent food menu with simple favorites like grilled cheese, cheesesteaks, and hot dogs. Pick your poison...a cone, a split, a scoop (or two!)... and grab a seat to watch the world drive by.

This place has new ownerships since, I believe, 2012 or 13. They have a new name and new equipment, and in spring 2014 opened an indoor sitting area.And it's NOT just ice cream, but high quality hot sandwiches. It is painted with big black/white spots, like a Holstein cow. And, they've added Boulder Glacier ice cream (which only sells its product in limited stores) which has tons of stuff in it, like white chocolate chunks. Plus the normal soft cones. (but like any good quality ice cream, you cant buy it cheap any more.) They have daily specials on their sign, and regulars can use a punch card for future discounts. School kids get specials at lunch time. And offer something like a 6-pack of cones at a discount. They claim to have great burgers done fast, and Vienna beef dogs, but I cant stop ordering their Ruebens and Philly Cheese Steak--Great!! both in taste and authentic ingredients. Oh, and crispy fries. Combos are $2 more. Opens at 11:30, so no breakfast; but might open sooner in summer? There's tables and chairs outside; and an awning.

This is becoming a standard weekend summer time treat for ice cream. Delicious! Have not had any of the food menu items, so I can't comment on those. My only wish is that they would add more choices for the ice cream or rotate the options more often. Overall though, I'll be going here for the foreseeable future to get my summertime ice cream fix.

We stopped here last night while in Lyons to try out their ice cream. First off, instead of calling things small/medium/ or large they have to throw in a twist and make it a calf/cow/heifer for the sizes which makes it pretty confusing. I ordered a dipped cone and it was really messy and small for 3.00. They charge you an entire extra dollar to dip it which is ludicrous. My wife ordered a strawberry shake and it was the worst one EVER. When the girl handed it to her it was like are you kidding, the consistency of water basically for $3.75. Probably the worst experience for ice cream we have ever had any place. Not sure if these people running the place are new to the business but they need major help it would appear. Will not return, could have driven 10 more miles to Sonic and had a much better experience for less money.

We stopped here today for ice cream and it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I tried the key lime but it was hard to decide because all the flavors sounded amazing. The scoops were generous and the place is so sweet. There was a crowd there and lots of burgers and fries being eaten. They looked delicious and everyone was literally raving about their burgers. Great little stop on the way to Rocky Mountain Park or if you want to take a quick ride to a cute town near Boulder. Worth the drive! Nice family run business, prices were reasonable, and service was friendly and great.
