Well...the food was as alive as the decor. The owner was as delightful as the repeating soundtrack of tired, uninspired songs from the golden age of crooners. Oh, and that could be forgiven if every dish that came to the table didn't taste like it was dredged from the depth of a 2 decade old idea of haute cuisine. But, for all the plastic plants and T.J. Max cloned paintings, the real crime was the food itself. My god! Slimed, uninspired, and built out of ingredients that only the corner Safeway could bring. The food and the interior left each of us confused, dissatisfied and lost in a bygone era (which I'm guessing is where they also retrieved their ingredients and menu). What's best though is when we talked with the owner, he brushed us off as if the ghost town of a restaurant was enough to prove the superiority of his menu. If you're looking to lose a healthy sum of money, this is the place. But at least the portions are small, so you don't have too much to work through. In all, "balls minus." Randy L. might be the only review you can trust. The caesar did indeed taste like fuel, or a Burger King grill. Either this establishment went downhill fast, or these reviewers don't know how to judge food and go by the ridiculous assumption of value in price. We went here for a birthday. It was not okay. The waitress was a sweetheart but could not deflect the truth of the place. The service was slow and yet rushed. When my wife leveled with the owner, he went straight to denial and charged the full ticket, which is fine. He needs it more than us. He also snatched a Hobby Lobby birdcage out of my daughter's hands that she was checking out. We had found this on the dusty shelf beside our table. Poor form man.

Fate led us here on a busy Saturday night in Loveland, unwilling to wait for a restaurant on 4th street. We didn't even know the place existed. It's a small, intimate bistro, reminiscent of Manhattan, not Loveland. The menu is nicely varied with pasta, steak, duck and fish. The French onion soup was above standard fare and the dinner salad larger than the price, with plenty of fresh greens and a crusty dinner roll. I had the clams and chorizo linguini which was light and delicately flavored, quite delightful. My husband had pecan encrusted salmon which was excellent. The bread pudding was warm and moist and perfectly spiced with cinnamon and rich with pecans. The prices were very reasonable. Our service was prompt and friendly. Definitely a place we will return to.

Went here Saturday night. Place was hopping and we ended up with a nice table. The food was the best I've had in Loveland. Service was spot on. The chef must know what he/she's doing because everything was exquisite. We'll be back!

Great Food and Service; what more can you ask for!! Recently visited for the first time and will definitely be back. Had French onion soup, side salad and beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans. The ribs were amazing; fall off the bone tender and everything else was delicious too. The server was attentive but not overbearing. A gem in Loveland that more people should definitely check out.

We returned to Inglenook and had a perfect evening. We started with a shrimp appetizer, then my husband had short ribs while I enjoyed the duck. Desserts were delicious, the service was impeccable, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening from start to finish. Inglenook remains our favorite neighborhood gem in Loveland.

Inglenook is a gem in Downtown Loveland. The Slider Trio with the carmelized onions is unbelievable. On the appetizer menu, try the mussels and the grilled Ceaser salad. I was there a few weeks back and got the beef short ribs. The meat fell off the bone and it was absolutely delicious. They have a nice intimate setting and a great wine list.

Overall an enjoyable meal. Quiet and private, the restaurant is small but nice ambiance. We started with mussels, which were very good, and I tried the French soup (also good, nice bread in it). My DH had the elk, which he enjoyed but it only had one so not a lot of meat for the price. I had the lobster ravioli, which was ok but not fantastic. Go for the meat. We looked at the dessert menu but it was pretty standard so we passed. Service was ok, a bit slow but fine if you want a relaxed meal.

Interesting looking menu that didn't deliver. We had quiche which from the soggy crust was obviously prepared ahead of time and microwaved. The pancakes were decent but not great. Ingredients were not of the quality you'd expect for how the place is marketed and priced: "Cinnamon butter" was just butter with some cinnamon sprinkled on it rather than an infusion. Caramelized pineapple was obviously not fresh.

My wife and I love dining here. We have tried almost every item the menu and have enjoyed them all. The menu is small but it is revised frequently. Love the grilled Caesar on the new menu and the lobster ravioli was excellent. We try a different bottle of wine each time we eat there and they have all been tasty. They do have one of the better wine lists in town. The service has always been top notch.

A lovely evening with very tasty food. Grilled artichoke and mussels as appetizers -- both very good. Pan seared halibut, chicken marengo, and shellfish with pasta were all enjoyed. Halibut was fresh; sauce for chicken was delicious; shellfish was fresh. Plates also looked very nice. Very nice ambience and quiet, but there were only three tables filled on a Thursday night. One waiter on duty who was very knowledgeable and very solicitous without being annoying. We used a Groupon ($50 worth of food for $25), so the cost was reasonable, but it would have been quite pricey without it (2 appetizers, three entrees, one bottle of wine for $116)

As a former food service professional and foodie from the east coast I often find myself disapointed with the local food sceene, not at all the case with The Inglnook. This is a real sleeper find ! The atmosphere is sophisticated and contemporary the service was spot on and most importantly the food and drink was amazing! The menu is imaginative and well executed and everything from begining to end was done perfectly . The pricing is also more than fair for a dining experience of this quality.

After a whole 6 months of being married, my husband comes home from work and announces that we needed to celebrate with dinner out at a local restaurant. He brought me here to The Inglenook. It was a Tuesday night & there was one other couple there. What a lovely dinner. Our waitress Tracy was fantastic. She knew when to check on us & knew when to leave us alone. She also answered any questions we had about the food. The food was fabulous! The grilled artichoke was an amazing appetizer. Tasty and smokey with amazing remoulade dipping sauce that made me want to lick the bowl clean. The onion soup & wedge salad were also mighty tasty. For dinner I had the lamb chops & my husband had the elk. The taste was a vacation for our tastebuds! Both meals came with wonderful in-season asparagus & boiled potatoes. I only wish that the sides had been more interesting & creative & not both the same. We can't wait to go back!

Having heard good things about the ambiance and food at this little restaurant in downtown Loveland, my husband bought a Living Social coupon. We made dinner reservations for a Friday night and looked forward to a good eating experience. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted and seated promptly. The restaurant is in a narrow space, and the tables are really close together, but they've tried to make the most of the small, dark space with artificial plants and attractive lighting. For starters, we ordered the olive tapenade and martinis ($21 for 2 martinis and the tapenade, which came with crackers), and the mussels appetizer. Both appetizers were really good, appearing freshly prepared and well seasoned. The martinis were also good. Service was reasonably fast and the waitress was friendly enough. Then it came time to order our entrees. I went with the Halibut Special, which consisted of halibuts with grapes (which I assumed would be part of a sauce), asparagus, and risotto ($30). I also ordered the soup of the day, which was duck and wild rice (extra $3 for adding the soup of the day rather than just a side salad or French onion soup). My husband ordered the Filet of Beef, which came with an "exotic mushroom port reduction" and the soup of the day (also $30 plus $3). The duck and wild rice soup was marginal; the duck seemed a bit dry, and the soup was so underseasoned that I had to use the tiny decorative pepper shaker at our table to add some spice. It tasted like a soup someone had created from leftovers, rather than as a planned dish. When the entrees arrived, they were worth of my taking a photo. My fish was burnt around the edges, covered in halved red and green grapes (not in a sauce, just thrown on top). Instead of asparagus on the side, I had overcooked green beans in a pool of butter. My risotto was decent, though the only flavors I could detect were an overwhelming mixture of garlic and butter (but it wasn't offensive, just boring). The first bite I took of fish, I realized how overcooked and dry it was. I offered my husband the second bite, and he had *three* small bones in that mouthful. I asked the waitress why I had green beans instead of asparagus, and she went back to the kitchen to find out that they had run out of asparagus. She offered me a salad instead, which I declined, and I then showed her the bones throughout the fish, asking if this was a typical finding. She went back to the kitchen to tell them about it and then offered me a free dessert. I told her not only was the fish bony, but it was so overcooked and dry as to be inedible. She then asked if I "might" want to have my entree comped, as if this were in question. Uh, yes, please. They did offer to cook me some salmon instead, but by then, I really didn't want to wait for another entree, and my appetite was ruined by the sad fish and greasy green beans. So I just let them comp my entree. Meanwhile, my husband's filet was not rare, as he had requested, but medium-rare to medium. The sauce was just ok. The mashed potatoes were completely unseasoned; he actually added butter to them to give them a little bit of taste. His green beans were also overcooked. He ate his without complaining to the waitress, though, not wanting to add to all the drama at our table. The waitress convinced us to order dessert, though they were out of two of the options that sounded the best (a chocolate truffle and coffee dish and an apple compote). I went with my old stand-by, creme brulee, and it was all right. The edges of the sugar were black (burnt), and the creme was cold, but the flavors were good, if unexciting. After all this, I'm just not sure if I'll ever risk returning to this restaurant. If it had been just one mistake, that would have been fine, and understandable. But there were multiple mistakes, mistakes that would have gotten their chef kicked off any food competition TV show, without a doubt.

This review is long overdue (9/12) but still needed to share that this was a lovely experience. Food was incredible and service was impeccable. We closed the place down.

My fiancé and I went to the Inglenook because we received a gift certificate from a client and were delighted with the experience. The ambiance was great and it was pretty busy on a Friday night. But even then, the service was great!! We started with the bruschetta and it was delicious. Then, I ordered the salmon, which was definitely one of the better preparations that I've tried! And my fiancé ordered the Hallibut, and liked the relish a lot. And finally, some of the wines on the list were reasonably priced and the desserts were excellent. We'd recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dining in Loveland- its by far the best in the area!

Unfortunately our first experience will be our last. We were there Saturday night on 11/16/2013 and had the restaurant to ourselves at 7:30 pm. Now I understand why. I ordered the grilled Cesar salad and it tasked like butane fuel. My Rib-eye steak was some other cut of meat, that was flavorless and needed salt and pepper added to give it some flavor. This cut of meat that i was served was more like 2 pieces of strip steak, no marbling or flavor at all. My risotto was even worse. It had absolutely no flavor and even adding salt could not bring it to life. My wife ordered a house salad to start, and had the duck. This "half" duck was actually 2 legs and 2 thighs. Her risotto was just as flavorless. We skipped dessert. The service was outstanding, but the food is just not worth the money spent. Even if it was half the price, we would have been disappointed. We will stick with the restaurants like Generations Wine and Martini Bar, 4th Street Chophouse and The Next Door for quality dining experiences in Loveland.

We want to like the Inglenook, it is locally owned, is intimate and friendly without being pretentious, and Loveland needs an upscale restaurant and bar like Jay's or Lubicks in Ft. Collins. We've been in a few times since they added the bar and it is nice to have a drink while waiting on friends or to have dinner, great move to add the bar and it is nice. The problem is that a very nice server comes to make the drinks, and if it isn't on the menu then she is pretty well lost. With the upscale atmosphere they are trying to cultivate, and the popularity of speakeasies or any higher end eating establishment that serves hand crafted cocktails, having a mixologist on staff would be a wonderful thing. I know we could see coming for drinks and staying for dinner. Hopefully they will check out the Green Russell, Williams & Graham, or similar places in Denver to get the idea of what could be. The food we've had has been good, but the menu is limited and it is fairly pricey, so for now this will be more of a special occasion place for us and not somewhere we might go on a regular basis. We're hoping they are successful, but management might be better served putting their money and efforts into hiring a mixologist to offer crafted cocktails not available elsewhere in town, plus expanding their menu. We'll be back and we're hoping to hear the buzz of their cocktail and menu offerings soon!

Discovered through Groupon - what a great find. A secret gem of Loveland. An intimate setting, good food and good service. We shall return.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here Saturday night with another couple upon their suggestion. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious. Two others ordered the pork tenderloin and they enjoyed theirs as well. The atmosphere was relaxing and we could socialize without a lot of loud noise. We will definitely dine here again.

Ambiance was nice, quiet. Service was very good. My seafood bisque portion was small and overpriced, containing 3-4 shrimp, a scallop, with tiny lobster bits floating in the sauce. My wife's encrusted salmon was fairly sized, but also overpriced. Both entries did not include salad and the green vegetable side was scant. I found it incredulous that bread was not served with the meal as with most restaurants. For the money-- it's just o.k.

Not worth the $. The food tasted good. I had the Elk and my wife had Pasta with scallops and a couple other sea food items. The Elk chops were tiny. Barely enough sauce. The scallops were marble size and only a few of them. Atmosphere was bland. The highlight was the French onion soup, very tasty. Service was good. With out the groupon it would not have been worth the $65 tab. W/ groupon was only $25

We recently attending an Italian wine tasting night at the Nook, featuring Francis Mays wines, the writer from Under the Tuscan Sun. A rep from a distributor described the wines and showed a short video on the winery featuring Francis Mays and how she established the famous house, and her love for wine. Rod, the owner, did a fabulous job selecting two whites, two reds, every wine was very, very solid and rare to have every wine a winner at these events. The Chardonnay was superb, crispy, buttery, not too dry and the cab was top notch. Appetizers were high quality lamb meatballs in a basil cream sauce, amazing Italian olives, pasta with chicken, even the cheese platter was very tasty. 24 wine lovers attended this event, everyone raved about the food and wine, plus you could enjoy all you wanted-not just one small glass per type of wine like other events. The Inglenook also has a great happy hour with half priced glasses during the week, and their kobe slides are very amazing. To top off a great night, we tried to get a cab home, forgot there are very few in Loveland, so Rod and his wife gave us a ride home out of their way. I am looking forward to going back for more happy hours and dinners!

My husband and I dined here in May. We made a reservation with open table and had no problems with it once we arrived. The man at the host station was the owner and was very attentive and kind. The food was not flavored well, but I would give them another shot since the atmospher was small, quiet and low key.

Highly recommended. Service was fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was AMAZING! The elk was cook exactly how I asked and my friends halibut was superb. The ambience is cozy and romantic. If I ever make it back to Loveland I'm coming back here to eat.
