So my wife and I wanted to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary and we had a chance to get out of the house and away from the kids. My wife was dying for some authentic BBQ Ribs. After doing a quick search online we found The Rib House in the Prospect area of Longmont. I called to check if they had the All Star game on (MLB) and they told me no problem they would turn it on for me. (That's a winner right there) When we got there it was a very welcoming atmosphere. You walk in find a seat check the menu then walk up and order. Easy simple and fast. You get your drinks and your table number, which in this case are famous musicians, we got Bob Dylan. When the rib platter came out we could not believe the size. And after the first bite, it was easy to say that these were 'hands down' the best ribs we have had in Colorado. The food was great, the staff were awesome and the price was amazing. It is now a place that me and my wife will be heading out to once a month.

Can't believe I've never done a review for this wonderful BBQ. We've been dining here for probably 4 years and take lots of out-if-town guests here. Best BBQ in Colorado as far as we're concerned. My hubby always gets the huge 1/3 rack of ribs and always loves it. I usually get brisket w/o bun cuz soon much food! Their cheesy corn is unique and yummy! Prices are reasonable, service usually good and attentive. It can be crowded so go early. Oh, and don't forget their desserts (if you have room after the big servings they give us). They are very good and homemade. The carrot cake is amazing! When we were there recently they were selling some bottles of wine for 50% off so that was the way to go! And they corked it up for me to take leftover home. They stock quite a few local craft beer selections too. The restaurant is located in the hip Prospect neighborhood south of Longmont so a bit of a drive for us in Westminster, but well worth it. It's always a treat for us to hit The Rib House.

No doubt about it the food is delicious and Tracy and wife and crew are great. My only gripe, and it is shared by many I talk to is how stingy the Rib House is with its side dishes. The sides are served in little plastic cups that literally are the size of tasting cups at a King Soopers or Safeway deli. For the rather bullish prices that are charged, and recognizing beans, cole slaw, potatoes, and corn are very inexpensive products, it seems like The Rib House could easily afford to be a little more generous with its side portions.

Had a large group dinner here after Star-Days 2015, the food and service is great. New location is beautiful with out door seating. I will re-visit this diner again.

Wow! Why are the smoked wings not on the menu? Delicious! Good thing the wings are an everyday special! Absolutely fantastic! ...the Scott's Rib Basket for 9.99 on Tuesday is a great value! Service is friendly.

I can't believe I haven't updated since 2008 but here we are. My affections toward the Rib House waned a long time ago. I have always liked their ribs, but the sides just weren't doing it for me, and the ribs were so expensive that they became hard to justify. The pulled pork has been decent, but the other meats weren't so great. We wholeheartedly prefer Georgia Boys and would recommend it over the Rib House.

The best places are the ones that fly under the radar...and this place holds true to this statement. Ever heard of the "Texas way" of BBQ? If so, then you will be one of those who will relish this place. I can mention all the cliches..."meat falls off the bone", "mouthwatering"...blah blah blah. But the best thing I can do is recommend this place to you, and tell you to try it yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Why do so many bad restaurants survive and thrive in Longmont? I think it's partly because people here are so nice and don't want to leave honest reviews. Luckily, I'm mean and don't have that particular limitation. This place was bad. Blaring top 40 country (seriously, kill me), expressionless dead-eyed staff (probably self-lobotomized themselves after the first week of that music). Meat (ribs) were similarly expressionless. Potato salad was sweet, beans were sweet, sauce was sweet. All could have come from a gallon tub from Wal-Mart and I defy anyone to tell the difference. It was as expensive at it was unpleasant to eat. There is no way you actually ate here and liked it. No. Way.

Meat=dry haven't returned since.. There is a difference between overcooked and Kansas City Style. I'll be back soon to give it one more shot

Everything taste like it's all seasoned with the same rub. Hardly any smoke flavor. The brisket for some reason kinda taste like the pork ribs. Almost like it was heated up in the juice from the pork ribs. The ribs taste like they're boiled. The cheesy corn taste like the nacho cheese you get at 7-Eleven, pretty sure the potato salad is from kings soopers. Everything is over priced and the owners only seem to care about is money in their pockets. Don't waste your money here people.

Second time for lunch in two weeks. Food Is great, but service is incredibly slow. Been waiting for over 1/2 hr for food to make an appearance. Impossible to make time to have lunch here and get back to work.

Food was a solid OK. Meat smoked and tender. BBQ sauce on the side was OK. Side dishes also OK. Staff was super friendly and walked us through the menu. The service was oddly slow- it was near the end of the night and staff was more focused on closing up or something. But food was served with courtesy and a smile and no one tried to hurry us. Again, food was OK, nothing bad about it. I'd try them again.

We were visiting my sister, and saw The Rib House just 200 feet away! We love barbecue and just had to eat there. We were a group of seven, and walked down the block. I love burnt ends, and was happy to see it on the menu. I mean, I understand the meaning of the word "burnt". But these were dry and nearly crusty. It took a lot of sauce to make them semi-enjoyable. I do note however that the homemade sauce was pretty good. Also enjoyed the sides. I ordered chipotle potato salad and the cheesy corn bake. Both were yummy. We also got some slickly fries for the table and they got a very god reception. The rest of the group mostly ordered ribs, and they enjoyed their meal. I got a taste too, and they certainly made the better choice. I will stick to ribs, next time.

The ribs were falling off the bone... So much so that I could not pick them up, I had to use a fork to eat them as they were way over cooked. Walking up I thought I smelled lighter fluid, when I started eating I realized why... The ribs had no smoke flavor, and actually no flavor at all aside from the charcoal and fluid. Several people recommended this place and it seems to have good ratings so perhaps it was an off night, but I would not go back. As an aside the atmosphere is really strange too. Not sure if it is a smoke shack, a hipster hang out, or a half decorated sports bar.

I came here on Saturday night with my family and have to say, I was not impressed at all. My husband was a huge fan and had been raving about this place for awhile so we decided to give it a try. I ordered a turkey leg and some hot link sausage and was not pleased. The turkey leg was completely overcooked and looked disgusting when they set it down in front of me. The sausage was decent, definitely not the best i've ever had. I tried a bite of my husbands ribs, and have to admit, his homemade are WAY better. This place is definitely not for me.

I honestly love this place. I think it is so delicious. Pretty much the whole restaurant is gluten free except a couple options. I'll admit the chicken is a little dry but they aren't known for their chicken. Don't order something they haven't perfected. Their sauces have such good flavor and they have a wide range from sweet to incredibly spicy. I like the casual environment here and everyone is so friendly. I honestly don't understand how someone doesn't like to eat here.

A friend recommended this place and said it was FANTASTIC. Well, we went and ordered just about everything (the sampler, more ribs, brisket, dessert) and I hate to say, it wasn't fantastic. At all. They were short-handed that day and there was a middle aged lady yelling a lot at the poor middle aged guy behind the register. Awkward. Then when the food came out they had gotten our order wrong -- we wanted beef ribs but they gave us pulled beef. The waitress said it was essentially the same thing...yeah, no it's not. So they brought us what we wanted. It was ok. Then they failed to bring out our Key Lime pie, so when we were ready to leave we asked about it and they said they had been waiting for us to finish our main dishes. Huh? We had finished them long ago. No...they had just forgotten. This food is sub-par barbecue. While the outside area is a nice place to hang out, the cue needs to be so much better. The brisket was dry, the ribs were boring, the beef ribs were uneventful and even the sides were just ok. Also, the three sauces they served were not great -- not special at all. I'm not trying to hate this place -- I'm just trying to get others to not have to pay over $60 for a meal that will potentially be messed up, will most likely be dry and lack flavor, all after watching the owners yell at each other because business is going downhill. Hey, maybe you'd be getting better Yelp reviews and more customers if you worked on your product and service -- just a thought. All ya'all, spare yourself and just make your own ribs. I'm convinced there's just no good cue in Colorado, and not even one "barbecue restaurant" has proved me wrong.

Good food yes. Good service, no. Questionable priorities on occasion. Just called ahead for an order for a family of 8. Finally walked out the door with my food exactly 29 mins after it was supposed to be ready. They also served food to at least 3 in-house guests who ordered while I was standing there waiting. I know it's the Holidays, but come on man. Now the 5 kids I'm bringing food home for are likely eating the table, crying, whining, and most likely about to ruin the entire night. For crying out loud (pardon the pun), please keep 3 food preparers behind the counter at the busy times. Note: there were only two, 1 girl and 1 lady, and they were working their butts off.

This is getting a three because it'd get a five for dining in and a one for take out. This is the first restaurant we ate at in longmont. We loved it. We went back a number of times: meat is tender and sides are wonderful. We got take out one night for my parents. We called from the Denver airport. They asked what time wed be there to get it. We gave them an hour. We showed up at the designated time. There's no separate line so we waited in line for ten minutes to get pick up order. They said well get it ready. That took another 25 minutes to get together. So we had to wait 35 min for take out when meanwhile its usually a 20 min wait in restaurant. But while that was frustrating the disappointing thing was the portion size for take out. The normal 25 dollar sampler platter: 2 meats and 3 sides fit in a single standard take out container. When my husband and I get this in restaurant we always have leftovers. This was barely enough for one person. The sides were in ketchup containers. Very very very disappointing.

I visited the Rib House last night with a very large group of people! We are part of a Longmont social club. As usual, the food was really good; however ordering the food was a different matter. We were told that we had to go to the counter and order our food which was chaotic to say the least....at one point, there must have been 50 people in the "ordering counter" area. The experience was odd, in that the same staff were working like on any ordinary day....no additional staff to take care and serve at the table. I ordered a brisket plate and did not receive what I ordered probably because of all the chaos and the fact that the young lady working the register and taking orders had lost her voice "completely" and couldn't speak!! One would assume the owners knew that they were going to be extremely busy with all the people coming and would have had additional staff working to provide the best experience possible!? Above all, great food but the overall experience was frustrating to say the least! Will I be back....yes, but am hoping the owners re-think there service protocol!!

Best ribs in the Denver metro area. Desserts are delish. Cheesy corn never disappoints. I have used them to cater a couple of parties and have been really pleased with their service.

I've always had a good experience at the Rib House. The food is yummy and the outdoor seating on a warm summer evening is the best! This is a good restaurant in a great location.

Really slow and pricey. Can't tell you what the food is like cause they haven't fed us yet. Update: The food was good. I had a hard time deciding between this place and the Georgia Boys to take an out of town friend, so I ended up visiting both. The atmosphere at the Rib House in Prospect is fantastic. Other than that, it loses to Georgia Boys by a long shot; the food is better and way cheaper, and the service is fast.

I did't like barbeque until I had some from the Rib House.

  • Rebecca L.

I was really disappointed by this place. First off, I had to wait in line for about 10 minutes just to order. Great barbecue would have made it worthwhile, but the food wasn't even good. My shredded pork and chicken were both extremely dry and had very little flavor. I got the mild sauce, and it reminded me more of ketchup than barbecue sauce. But my husband got the hot sauce, and he liked it. (But there isn't much of it served, and if you want extra, it'll cost you.) His ribs were okay, but nothing special (3.5 stars out of 5, he said). The buns I got with my shredded meat were small and unremarkable, like cheap hamburger buns from the grocery store. The onion rings were good. Very crispy, and not too greasy (but the "foot of rings" are served on a base of sauces, so your last ring is going to have ketchup and other junk on it whether you like that or not). The mashed potatoes were a little weird (kind of thin, almost like a soup), but I kind of liked them. Their signature "cheesy corn bake" was a huge disappointment. It was just spooned into a dish; it wasn't baked at all. It was like corn in Velveeta thinned with something kind of sour (yeah, weird). I'd heard the carrot cake was good, so I got a piece of that to go. It's expensive (almost $7 with tax), but it's a big piece (way too much for one person), and it was indeed good. It's not too sweet, and it's moist without being oily. It doesn't have a very strong flavor, but overall I liked it. It was definitely, by far, the best thing about the meal. I would never go back for the meat, but I might pick up a piece of cake if I'm in the neighborhood.

Absolutely loved our experience at The Rib House. Everything except the fried food and desserts was gluten-free. I was super surprised to find KC barbecue in Colorado - I was super happy that I found this place. We went in with a rather large party somewhat late at night (30 minutes before closing). Everyone was awesome and made us feel welcome.

Fall off the bone - amazing baby back ribs. Husband and I shared a rack if Tims - and had leftovers. Their onion rings and ranch are amazing. Fresh iced tea and lots of from scratch desserts. I haven't had one yet - but the cobblers, brownies, cakes and cookies look delicious.

Happened upon this place by accident but so glad we did!! Excellent find, Tracy's famous ribs are great and Jason's pork chili is wonderful too! The coupon for the key line pie only sweetened the deal and WOW it was yummy

Fantastic, but expensive for what it is. Don't go when you're hungry and not flush. The food is great. Amazing. The desserts are GREAT. The people are okay, some are fantastic and some are in too much of a hurry for you. But overall, I think it's too expensive for what you get.

Eh. We walked in to this place and were told that we would be helped in a minute. This was while no other customers were in the building. We ended up waiting 10 minutes then another customer walked in right in front of me and the owner walked up to take her order. It's cool, I was just waiting there for 10 minutes for nothing. She then asks me for my order and I looked down at the menu for the name of the dish and she walked away to answer a call. This occurred twice while I was trying to order. I was then told it would be 10 minutes for our order. We waited at least 20 and we were brought barley warm food which had very little taste. The ribs were greasy and had absolutely no smoke flavor or any other flavor, the Cole slaw tasted like mayo and nothing else, the corn tasted like cheese, the pork and beef were dry and not seasoned at all. The owner was very rude as well as the rest of the staff. Very disappointing.

Chef Extraordinaire? Really? I find nothing about this place extraordinary at all. You must have pretty low standards. And calling yourself Chef Extraordinaire puts a target on your back. Some people want to test that for truth. I did and was disappointed. My colleagues drag me here when I'm in town. Been here four or five times - always against my will. The meat is always really dry! So everyone smothers it in sauce, but the sauce is bad (tastes like it came out of a bottle). I try a different kind every time hoping to find one that doesn't suck. No luck yet, they're all bad. The potato salad is terrible. The service is really slow and the place is noisy and uncomfortable. Sorry but I've been to a dozen barbeque places that are much better and I can't find anything nice to say about this place. Chef Mediocre would be closer to the truth, but still not right.

I've been going here since my wife and I first began planning our wedding reception (at least our Colorado version of the three we had). It was so good that we used them to cater the reception and we've gotten many people so hooked they would drive out of their way to hit Longmont for some of their food. The ribs are fall of the bone perfect and to me need no sauce, they do a BBQ turkey that is excellent and their beans are yummy. They get 5 stars as nobody has proven to me they aren't the best BBQ in Colorado.

    (5)
  • Louie C.

The ribs here are simply the best I have ever had. These are not the usual gnaw off the bone slathered in BBQ sauce ribs where you get a sliver of meat but more like a slab of meat that you simply pull the hole bone out, They come dry and jucy, you use one of the house sauces which are all tasty. The only thing I don't like is you have to go ask for little cups of sauce instead of having it readily available. But service is always fast and friendly, everything else they serve is excellent as well but the ribs are out of this world.

In my opinion, a good BBQ restaurant MUST have delicious beef brisket. The meat must be delicious without sauce--the sauce IMO just takes it to another level of complexity. Here, the brisket was pretty dry and flavorless. Not a fan. I kind of liked some of the sauce options, but if I have to drench the meat, what's the point? May as well get some texas toast and use that to dip. The mashed potatoes weren't memorable, but I loved the idea of the baked cheesy corn. It was kind of good (mostly because it combines some of my fav things...cheese...corn...mmmm). It could be taken to a whole new level with better fresh cheese. Service was surprisingly good for a place where you order at the counter. Someone stopped by to check on us, etc. The woman taking our order was super friendly, with some good ideas on sauces to mix. Location includes a nice outdoor patio in a cute newer neighborhood. Something feels pretty all-American about eating BBQ outside and watching kids play in a hammock in a park across the street. I'll probably be back because it's close to work and there aren't a whole ton of options...maybe the ribs will be better.

I'm a bit of a BBQ bit*ch I admit it, I have my own professional quality smoker at home. However I appreciate all kinds of BBQ... Texan, KC, Carolinan, etc... I love good BBQ. The Rib house doesn't have any. It all taste like.. dirty It has a nasty dirty taste to it. I've tried the brisket, the smoked turkey leg, and ribs. All had that same dirty taste. Honestly not sure what they do, if it's the wood, the rub or as someone told me because they boil their meat (I don't know if they do this or not). I can't say why, I just know what it taste like. I'd rather go to Famous Dave's than this place... heck I'd probably even order ribs from Applebe's before I'd go back here. There are other better BBQ places around, go find one of them or fire up your grill and do it yourself.

I did like things about this place. I liked the giant beers you can get. I loved the mac and cheese wedges with the ranch dressing. How do they get them to stay so gooey? Unfortunately, mac and cheese wedges do not a well rounded dinner make. The meat, bland, boring, whatever. The sauces - ok, but do they really need to charge per sauce? If you had a really awesome sauce, you wouldn't need to offer five flavors of mediocre sauces to trick people. I don't eat ribs, so I am judging based on the brisket and pulled meats. Haven't been back since this summer. The location in Boulder is a bit nicer (and still has those amazing wedges) but meh.

As I do love me some good BBQ, this place does hit the spot. I'm not an expert in the BBQ realm, but who thought a little place in Prospet could cook some mean BBQ. Matt's Brisket sandwich was very nice and top it off with some XX hot soss to make it a meal. All the sides are great, but the cheese and corn is epic as is the slaw. The chicken is pretty dry, so stick to the staples or pork or beef. Good beer selection and even though I didn't get any, the desserts look off the hook (that's a good thing!!). Staff is awesome and sitting outside after an afternoon rainstorm is extremely pleasant, I'll be sure to be back very soon!! Thanks Rib House

I've been frequenting this place for about 10 years. It's the only place I'll eat ribs now. Nothing else even comes close. Now, I know that for some reason, ribs are one of those foods that have 'camps'. Sort of like the people who are really into Chili. Much has to do with the cut of the meat (how much actual meat is on the bone) and the texture of the meat once it's 'finished'. St. Louis style, for instance, is different than Kansas City style which is different from Memphis style which is different from Korean style. This place is all about the Kansas City DRY rub style. It's not your typical ribs on the Weber grill at home BBQ (which is usually wet and a bit stringy). Dry rub takes hours (and hours, and hours) to get right. When it's done, the meat is dry and as tender as any meat you'll ever eat. It literally falls off the bones. These folks have that delicate skill well in hand. You then wet it up with sauces. I'm a fan of hot food and The Rib House's 'hot' sauce does not disappoint, but their mild and mediums are sweet and smooth as well. Sometimes I mix up different sauces to get a different flavor (just ask for one of each when you order). The sides are straight out of a BBQ in the park in KC. Cheesy corn bake is my fav, but the spicy pit BBQ beans are close second. They even have a potato salad with a toasty chipotle bite to them. Throw on some corn bread and you've just been transported directly to the deep south. The deserts are equally up to the task. I often find, after finishing my meal with it's (quite) hot sauce, I've still got some fire mouth happening. Nothing brings that under control faster than a chocolate brownie with cream cheese frosting. I took my parents there this past weekend (my dad's 85th) and mom saw Carrot Cake on menu and sort of melted. "I haven't had that in years! It's my favorite", so we got a piece. The only real problem is a 'piece' is damn close to an entire small cake. She was eating that 'piece' for three days. Which brings me to the size of the meals. If you order a standard dinner (say a Scott's plate.. 1/3 rack of baby back ribs and 2 sides), and you're an average person, or even a 'larger' than average person, you'll have a hard time finishing it and, if you do, you'll be very stuffed. Most people I know eat 1/2 of it, take 1/2 home. If you're kind of crazy, get Tracy's famous illegal ribs. Get a full slab. Go on.. dare ya. I have seen one person finish it in the 10 years I've been going here, but only once. And he regretted it (but said he'd die happy). So, in summary: Best ribs in Colorado, maybe in the entire region. I'm not kidding. You have to go about 800 miles East to get food even close to this anywhere else. All the associated fixings make something that's already great (the 'rib' in The Rib House), truly outstanding.

  • Keith S.

The prices are higher end. The sides are not that great. The ribs are way too tender. The meat falls off the bone when you pick out up. It also has a weird flavor. And don't eat the ribs while drinking lemonade. They also use there restaurant to advertise there political candidates. They need to leave politics out of it.

  • Kate D.

Best pork ribs around. The cheesy corn is quite a treat as well. I come here when I want pork dishes, their sides are rather basic and limited. But the ribs and sauces make up for it. It's in a cute neighborhood but parking can be tough when it's busy for events. The staff is never overly friendly but it's not bad service either.

We had been wanting to try The Rib House for a while with all the wonderful things we've heard about it. We tried a sampler plate of brisket, ribs, and chicken. The biggest downside for me was the lack of smoky flavor you expect to get from BBQ. . Pros: The meat is all very tender. Baked beans and potato salad are good Sauces are pretty tasty Good selection of menu items Atmosphere is laid back and pretty fun Cons: The meat doesn't have that smoky flavor It was all kind of dry The pie tasted like it was reheated in the microwave, very rubbery Brisket isn't sliced, it's chopped It was all just, ok... Bland, and had to drench it in sauce, and they don't give you very much sauce to completely drench everything in. All in all, it was just ok for us. Being from St. Louis we love our ribs, and they were just ok at The Rib House.

Funky neighborhood...but I'll give it a GO. Being that Lefthand Brewery is one of the best microbreweries in Colorado in my opinion and that it's served here to compliment the amazing Kansas City style ribs, well...it's a match made in heaven. You will find fall-off-the-bone dry rub ribs here as well as tasty brisket and EXCELLENT homemade BBQ sauces to try there or take home. Good atmosphere with a plaid picknick table type setting too. The typical sides (beans, coleslaw, etc.) are also very well done. It's here you'll want to 'pig out' and so is quite possibly the best place to come for your Kansas City ribs cooked with perfection in Longmont, CO. Note that there is limited parking however and come prepared to pay premium for great food as a half rack of ribs is nearly $20. But I think you'd agree with me after tasting it that it's worth it.

I have been here twice, and have not been impressed enough to warrant giving them a chance at three strikes. The location is not exactly convenient, the prices do not fit the portions, and the service is less than understanding. My first visit I had ribs that were quite ordinary, and left full but unimpressed. The second visit, after running the Bolder Boulder, ready to gorge myself, I recieved a plate of absolutely burnt ribs. I told the person who brought my food out, and shortly thereafter someone (perhaps the cook or owner) arrived, and attempted to explain the crust that forms on food when it is smoked. I attempted to explain that my food was just burnt, and recieved a replacement plate of ribs (this time without a crust of black carbon) that was just as uninspiring as the last time I went. Perhaps things have changed since I've been last, but there was little to encourage return visits.

My favorite BBQ in Colorado!! The owner is a "Kansas City" transplant and brought that heavenly KC BBQ to Colorado. The food and the service are great! I brought some of their BBQ to work with me (in Aurora) and my co-workers made a special trip that weekend to get some Rib House ribs. The meat literally falls off the bone!!

Took my mom here for her birthday and I have to say, although she is a big fan of it, I wasn't all impressed. I ordered a sampler platter in order to get a variety of items to truly judge the food. The ribs... well, it may be a matter of preference, but they were too tender, there was no chew. If the meat comes clean off the bone, it means they were oven baked, which is not my thing. Turkey was a weird color and largely dry and flavorless. Brisket was good--so good, I forgot it was brisket and thought I had ordered pulled pork instead. Sauces were very disappointing. I tried the medium and the xxx hot, both had an "off" taste to them. There was no balance to the flavors. Although the xxx hot was hot, there was no flavor to back it up. Also, really weird that you order when you walk in, then find a table for them to serve you at. Didn't care for that at all. Dinner for four including two desserts topped out at around $100... considering the quantity of the food, a good value... however, the quality of the food was definitely sub par. Best ribs in Colorado? No... there are better.

The Rib House is the best BBQ restaurant for miles around! that is, if you like Kansas CIty style BBQ. The KS style uses sauces to enhance the meat. The meats are organic and always fall-off-the-bone tender! And, the service is fun, they give you little cards with the names of Rock Stars on them, like Ringo Starr, for example. I am getting hungry just writing the review. Must go to Rib House tonight!

So let me preface this review by saying that The Rib House used to be my absolute favorite place to get BBQ along the Front Range. The meat is always well flavored and has a great smoky flavor to it. I've always been a fan of having the sauce on the side and I absolutely loved the Chipotle Potato Salad. And then I took the family there this last weekend. I pretty much knew from the start that I was going to get the pulled pork sandwich with chipotle potato salad and the BBQ beans. The sandwich and beans were just as good as I always remembered them. The chipotle potato salad though missed in a huge way. The potatoes were underdone and way too chewy. It also seemed that the heat had been dialed down making this a much more average potato salad. -1 star for a restaurant that is usually a 5 in my book. The big kicker for me though was when I was walking away and I heard the cashier and food runner have the following conversation: Runner: "Oh they left a tip?" Cashier: "Yeah but it was only X dollars." Now if the place was full service where the wait staff in constantly checking on you, refilling water, etc I will tip 20% unless the service is extremely bad. I'm not going to pay 20% tip for a place where they bring out the food and then you no longer see the wait staff until after you have walked away. I thought it was in extremely bad taste they had the conversation within ear shot to begin with. This left enough of a bad taste in my mouth that I'd rather drive to Smoking Dave's in Estes Park than put up with that kind of nonsense.

Okay place for the location...but I'd rather make the drive elsewhere for better value and better BBQ. Went with small group and ordered a plethora of stuff to share. It was okay, but not great. Not really "waited" tables--you order at a counter, take a seat and they bring it out similar to Noodles and Company style. Same with drinks--go get your own refills. I expect to "wait" on myself at places where lunch costs under $10. When, for six people, a meal is pushing $200 (and no one wanted to take the teeeeny bit of left overs home...really wasn't that good), I kinda expect them to refill beverages at the very least. Might go back if I'm in the area and really craving BBQ...but likely, I'll make the drive to Rib City or KT's BBQ.

I'm afraid the Chef Extraordinaire has over-reached and become the Ordinaire. The brisket an ribs were dry a a bone, the potato salad something from a Kroger carton, the sauce average an the cobbler made with gloppy canned fruit. There are far better in the area without the ego.

We've been here several times and the food is always yummy. But the last time we went we waited over 45 minutes to get our food. I understand they were busy, but they should seriously hire some a wait staff to have on hand if they can't keep up with their own popularity. For a cafeteria-style "restaurant" waiting anything over 15 minutes from the time you order until the time the food reaches your table is absurd. Lucky for them, their food is good...

The meat is tender and juicy, cooked to literally fall-off-the-bone! We had Brisket, Pork Ribs, and Sausage (woohoo it's SPI-CY!) Lip Smacking Good! The sauces, very tomato-y, and I prefer my own homemade stuff. (OK, honestly, its doctored up store-bought stuff, but it's been doctored so much, I think it no longer qualifies at store-bought.) I ate most of my meat without any sauce, it's cooked that good. And, yes, I mean GOOD, not well, I know "well" is proper grammar, but this meat is cooked GOOD! Corn bread is delish, Sweet, light and airy, but firm. I think it's what I crave when I make yellow cake. I need to remember this.... The Cheesy Corn Bake....meh. A very synthetic tasting cheese sauce over blandish corn. Not so much of a "bake" as it is a "stew". The porch is nice. that merits 4 stars. Sittin' on a quiet porch overlooking a grassy park is butter (or better!) than a busy street or boring parking lot any day.

I'm not a fan of Bar-b-que. Generally I'll pick something else or just avoid it when the opportunity comes up. With that said though, this is the best BBQ I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I get the Scott's Basket with two medium sauces and fries and they're great! I work close by so try to hit the place for lunch once a month (it's about that time again). They also have gluten free bread if you have a wheat problem. Note: While they don't have waiter service, they take your order at the front. You get a rock-star stand and they bring the food to your table.

Totally unimpressive. I've heard decent things about this place and this was my second visit. I drove out of my way to get there and spent way too much money on a two item plate. I thought I ordered a brisket and chicken platter but when I got home, saw that the chicken and the brisket had been chopped into tiny pieces with crunchy, over-cooked bits included - butchered more than chopped. And they gave me two grocery store hamburger buns. I was expecting a chicken leg or thigh and then some slices of brisket... oh well! I didn't realize I ordered the sandwich plate! The potato salad tasted like something that came out of the carton - it was unnaturally yellow and had that grocery deli consistency. Cheese corn was okay - lots of room for improvement there- check out Joy Of Cookings cheese corn recipe! Easy to make in bulk and lots better! Since the meat was chopped so small, it dried out quickly. The sauce was way too tomato-ey. Spice and tomato sauce were the only flavors. I thought I was having an off night so I saved most of the meat for another meal and it was just as blah as the first time.

The Rib House is my favorite place for barbecue. Very casual atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, and very reasonable prices for really good BBQ. My favorite meat has always been the brisket with medium sauce. Instead of dousing it in sauce, they put it on the side in a little bowl so that a person can add as much or as little as they like. I'm not a fan of turkey, but a couple of months ago I tried their turkey leg and it was amazing. For those who aren't big on turkey, I highly recommend going outside of your comfort zone and give the turkey leg a try - you won't be disappointed. The Rib House also has some really yummy sides - my favorite being the cheesy corn bake. It's just that - yummy cheesy deliciousness with corn and baked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and baked beans are also really tasty. Desserts are great too - all made fresh every day - key lime pie, carrot cake, and an assortment of gooey, yummy brownies to choose from (German chocolate is my fav.)

The Rib House is a new staple every time I visit here for work. The food is top-notch from the tender and flavorful brisket, to the sides (especially the beans and the cheesy corn - mix them together on your plate!) and the dessert. The dessert. The cobbler gets me each time. The greatest value the Rib House brings to me is their service. I just worked w/Merry Ann who helped me put together a large lunch order. She helped me plan the menu (all I had to do was describe my party) and made sure we had all the details covered, including service utensils, plates, napkins, and plastic-ware. The Rib House van showed up early and helped us set up. I now have a very happy crew. They even had a blackberry cobbler baked just for us. Thank you, Rib House! Happy to support a local business.

Delicious BBQ!!!! We go here every summer for yummy BBQ. I used to live in Kansas City and of course the food there was amazing. Moving back to Denver, I was determined to find a restaurant as good as Kansas City. The hardest thing was finding a restaurant that serves cheesy corn and The Rib House has it & it is addicting. We actually bought a pint for home. The sauces and sides are tasty and the homemade desserts are a must have (even just to take home). The entrees are of course 100% satisfying. I just get the platter with a pork sandwich and 2 sides while my husband gets 3 meats with 3 sides, delicious!!! The neighborhood is peaceful and not crowded which makes the ambiance perfect for a nice BBQ dinner. We always enjoy sitting outside on the patio. We will return here every year!

Well maybe you shouldn't judge a rib house by it's brisket, but that's what I do. I am not from Kansas city, and they may have some great BBQ there....however something was missing from my brisket, the flavor. Not seasoned and tough. The sauce was interesting, non traditional. I like that they offer a sauce that is that different, that actually brought them up a star. Even with the sauce the brisket was still flavor less and chewy. It was missing all the tender fat, so sad. The bun gets them the other star. I was still hungry when I finished the sandwich, but I could not eat the meat that had fell off the bun.... It was a little like dog food, except lower quality. I am going back for the ribs after reading some of these other reviews. Up date to come.

I just moved to Colorado from Kansas City. As a lover of KC BBQ, I had to give the Rib House a try. I first went to the Longmont location. My experience was horrible. The ribs were over smoked and mushy as was the turkey leg. The brisket was bland. In Kansas City, you never charge for sauce at the table. I about died when I found out they were charging 1.50 for a small sample. I vowed to never go back. Several months later, a coworker suggested we visit the Boulder location. I said ok, only if you're buying. We went for lunch. This time, the ribs were amazing and more to what I am used to back in KC. I didn't try anything else on that visit, but the ribs made up for it. Edit - I've been back a few more times since my original review. Yeah.....no. I still go back to KC 3-5 times a year. I remind myself of what KC bbq is everyday I'm back home. Rib House is not your typical KC style bbq, so please don't compare it to that. It is definitely not in the same vein as Jack Stack or OK Joe's. And for future customers, please do not think this place is KC style BBQ. Its just mediocre bbq. Edit #2 (7/7/2015) - Went to the Boulder location on the hill a few months ago. Don't know why. Guess I was desperate. Anyways, ordered a rack of ribs. When it came out, it was dripping water onto the metal tray. Yes, water. The meat disintegrated off the bone and had no flavor. The meat tasted like kinda smoked meat boiled in water.

We went on a pretty slow night, there were not many people, it still took quite awhile to get our food and while it was good, the amount you get is small for the price

Some of the best BBQ you'll ever have. Even my relatives from Texas beg us to take them there when they come to visit. The ribs are fall of the bone tender, I could drink the homemade sauces if my husband didn't frown on that kind of behavior and the sides are phenomenal. Cheesy cornbake (corn in a chessy savory sauce), fried okra and deep fried mac n' cheese wedges may one day stop my heart, but taste so good I can't help myself. The layout of the restaurant is a bit odd, but vast. The patio is a relaxing spot to sit in the summer. Order at the counter and they bring out your food. Usually a mix of the owners working there (and coming by your table to chat) and teenage kids that are friendly enough, but could use some training in customer service. They have a Boulder location now too - I hope it's as popular.

Food was excellent. Service was courteous but a bit slow. Would have given 5 stars but the cashier, while friendly, put her entire hand INSIDE the empty soda cup while talking to her manager, then attempted to give us to use with a feeble explanation that "her hands were clean"

  • Nick B.

Meh. The food is pretty good, but there is a different aspect of bad every time I visit. This past time we ordered take out to be picked up at an agreed upon time. 15 minutes later then that time we were still waiting for the food. When I gently mentioned this to "Chef Extraordinaire" he said, "15 min.? I think that is an ok wait time..." Why did I bother calling ahead? I guess I know why he is not called "Customer Service Extraordinaire." You'll get good food, in a nice setting, but if you care about service you might not be as happy.

If you want great BBQ, this is where you go. Ribs that literally fall off the bone, so moist and full of flavor, complemented by made from scratch sides (our favorite is the cheesy corn bake - only the rolls are average). Pricey, but very generous portions of great meat and sauce - ribs, briskit, chicken, turkey, pork (the last three my favorites). Hard to go wrong here!

The reviews are right--this place has great food. We focused on sandwiches for our inaugural meal, and they were awesome. Pulled pork tender and delicious, brisket "last meal"worthy. And the sauces are as good as they owner says they are--we had a sampling of all but the hottest of the hot and they were all tasty and fit into nicely into a spectrum of degree. The sides are interesting--loved the cheese corn puddingish stuff, and the spicy potato salad, and the mashers. They serve Dale's Pale Ale so my DH was happy. We'll be back...next time for the ribs. Looks like they do a brisk take-out business too!

The ribs were excellent, the brisket and pulled pork unremarkable. In fact, they were nearly indistinguishable from each other. Sides were good. In a nice neighborhood, sit on the porch.

This is the lst time for me at the Rib House. For a quite awhile I've fancied the idea of buying a property in Prospect, and have driven by the Rib House countless times. Decided to go in for lunch today. Their turkey sandwich is excellent. I liked the whole sauce on the side thing. Got several sauces and they were all quite good. Just the right balance of ingredients in each. I liked the medium hot sauce best. The bun was even noticeably good. I don't eat much bread, and especially don't care much for white bread, but I enjoyed this bun. I admit it though, I was extra hungry when I got to the Rib House. For my side I ordered the fried okra which was not greasy, and just right and came with a nice ranch dipping sauce. There were many choices of sides and of entrees/sandwiches. There were desserts too. There was a nice young man who came around to clear baskets from the table when people were done with them, and to ask if everything was all right and get extra things for people if they wanted them. Although this is not a table service restaurant, I got more kind and friendly service here than at many actual table service restaurants I've been to in my life!! That was a nice touch. The other customers looked happy and seemed to be enjoying their food. I know I enjoyed mine, and I look forward to trying this place again, with the family!!

I have tried this place 3 or 4 times now. Everyone keeps swearing by it but I just dont get it!!! The pulled pork tasted like it was leftover from the day before, refridgerated then heated up in a microwave. The ribs were mediocre, pretty dissapointing for a place called the RIB HOUSE! Sides were ok but I could make them at my house in about 2 minutes any day. The prices were way high for Q as well. Went there 2 times with my dad for lunch and he got sick once and we both did the other time. The only thing I enjoyed here was the sauce and the bag of chips I got. If you want good BBQ there are many other places around that blow this out of the water. Including my backyard with a Weber grill.

This place is something. You walk into some seriously bad feng shui. The entrance is the only exit and the counter you order at is right there next to the drink machine where people are filling there drinks. There is just way too much going on in one spot and it causes a lot of confusion. But wait more confusion is to come when you find out there are no waiters, you fill your own drinks and whatever tips you do leave go to the owners (?!) and it is over priced! I grew up in the south and I have eaten tons of BBQ. This places is missing the mark and can't make up its mind if it wants to be a nice sit down restaurant or a fast food place.

I had a chance to visit yesterday for lunch. Glad I had bookmarked it here on Yelp - I never would have "stumbled" across this place otherwise. Well hidden location. I had a half-slab of ribs with two sides and no drink. Spent about $21 including tax. To me, that's expensive. And the side order portions are very small. They come in a small sampler bowl. Ribs were good, fell off the bone. Thought overall it was "ok" due to poor value and small portions. For that price, I would expect table service. I may stop in again but I'm still hunting for a "go to" BBQ place in NorCo. BTW, for those of you who love this place, they are opening a 2nd location in Boulder in April of 2009.

I was skimming through my reviews and realized that I have never reviewed the Rib House! Time to correct the omission.... We love the place. Ribs and other smoked food are awesome here! It's very casual, perfect for watching a game on TV over ribs & a beer or lounging on the patio when it's nice. Very cool residential location, so if you're out on the patio you're not listening to cars and trucks roaring by. My favorites: the baby back ribs, of course..but the BBQ pork sandwich is the alternate. My wife loves the turkey leg.... The onion rings and the fried mac & cheese are very nice accompaniments. The only drawback for me is the lack of some good salad (or other non-BBQ) choices. They do offer a salad, but it's an afterthought. That said, you have to give them some credit for NOT trying to be all things to all people. This is a KC-style BBQ joint, and the best of it's kind.

I'm torn. You see, I'm from Texas and love bbq. Rib House has very, very good bbq (anywhere but especially in Colorado). I shouldn't judge it against Texas bbq and should be measuring it against the other spots in Colorado, but I can't help it. So, that's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. Sweet patio. A nice variety of ribs to pick from. If you live anywhere near here and like bbq, then what are you waiting for? Go! Full disclosure: My review is based on 1 visit. I hope to go again soon.

Best food on earth. I can't call it barbecue because it's all smoked. Heavenly smoked ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, and surprisingly, turkey breast. The amazing beans, smoked pork chile, and fried okra. Great beer selection with microbrews and great prices. A person can eat cheap here, they just aren't me. I want it all, and I always leaved stuffed, in a meat coma. Addicting. Difficulty articulating thoughts...don't forget the homemade carrot cake. No, its not smoked. I used to go every Monday with about 10 other people, known as the 'Monday Crew" (ask Tracy, the owner) after my Grams introduced it to me. One by one, I brought more people because anyone who's eaten here knows you can't get this food anywhere else (except Boulder, where there is a second restaurant). To give you an idea of how good this place is compared to others, I mentioned we went here every Monday, 10 or so of us, 3 cars, 40 miles. Yep, that wasn't a typo. Driving 40 miles wasn't even an issue because not only do you get to sit there and enjoy the best food and company, you get to hang out in the crazy town of Prospect. If you haven't seen Prospect than imagine this; Hollywood movie set meets modern European. It is out of this world too. There is a reason why this place was 1st on A-list's best Barbecue, and the 10 of us were just some of the thousands of votes for it. We all love what you do Tracy. Monday Crew unite!

Reliably great BBQ, hands down best around. My old man swears by the ribs and cheesy corn, I can't get enough of the sausage. Good selection of sauces. Only drawbacks are that it feels overpriced for the portions and ambience (it's fairly raucous counter service). Don't go super hungry, if the servers are off their game, it can be forever to get food.

I looooove The Rib House. The food amazing. I really enjoy the corn chowder, but any of the sides hit the spot for me. They also have a fantastic catering side. They are easy to work with and have unbeatable prices (especially when you consider the quality of the food). When I lived in Boulder and Denver, I made special trips to Longmont to go to the Rib House.

WOW! What a terrific barbecue place and now that they have a location in Boulder, it's a double whammy of awesome. I've had traditional regional styles of BBQ from North Carolina, Kansas City, Colorado, Alabama, and other places. Kansas City Style is my favorite and this place gets it right every time. My husband and I ate at the Longmont/Prospect location for dinner one evening in the spring. My husband didn't like it at all but he is not a fan of BBQ. I absolutely loved it. I ordered a 1/3 rack of baby back ribs which contained about 8-10 ribs - woah! They were so tender I could pull the bones out with my hand and they came out clean. The meat was fork-tender and had an excellent smoky flavor. I opted for the Medium BBQ sauce which had an excellent balance of bold, spicy, and sweet. My husband got Hot which to our surprise had a strong chipotle aspect. I like the fact they serve the sauce on the side - it keeps the flavor of the meat intact and gives me more control. My husband ordered a sampler of brisket, pork and chicken which I picked some pieces from. The chicken was quite good, the pork was also good and the brisket was terrific! I am hooked on the ribs though. For the price this food absolutely cannot be beat. My favorite side by far is the cheesy corn bake: Corn, cheese sauce, and a hint of garlic and herbs. Heaven! I also enjoy their coleslaw, they use ranch dressing instead of traditional mayonnaise. I have since dined again at the Longmont location as well as the Pearl Street in Boulder location. Both have completely different vibes: Longmont feels more southern cafeteria style which I really like, and the Boulder location is more high end service-at-the-table style which is nice if I am feeling more formal (I know, formal and BBQ usually don't mix but you'd be surprised how hot a napkin bib looks on a strapless dress). I've taken friends there, some of them big BBQ aficionados, and they are blown away. Both locations are consistent and I have never been disappointed. The owner came to my table yesterday and made sure we were happy with our food and that everything was to our liking. He seems genuinely invested in his customers having a positive experience. I also have to give props for their BBQ bloody marys. I had one on a Sunday during brunch with the Medium BBQ sauce and it really hit the spot. The Rib House is not a place to eat if you are counting calories but is terrific if you want a fair priced and wonderfully indulgent meal!

Service: Ranging from overly intense and present to yelling at you from behind the counter to on the phone with someone more important than you. And what do you mean.. "Do I want a menu?" Like I'm just going to guess what I want to eat? Seriously, would it be that hard to put a menu board up? Or directions to where hand held menus can be found? 2 stars. Food: First off what kind of BBQ restaurant charges for sauce! Thats crazy. And $1.50, really? BBQ sauce just doesn't cost that much to make; put it on the table where I can sample and pick the one I like. Secondly, I'm all for 'fall of the bone' goodness but when I pick my food up and it falls through my fingers back to the plate? Not cool. I felt like I needed a fork (or a shovel) to enjoy my ribs :( Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good but the bread was cold! Hence the food cooled off pretty quickly. By the time we were halfway through the whole sandwich was cold. And to charge me double for fried okra!?! I am all for some delicious okra (and I'm willing to pay for it) but to pay double and then get battered okra? Okra should be dusted in cornmeal and fried not covered in batter. Spicy Pit Beans and Spicy Chipotle Potato Salad were both very good and decently spicy. Good flavor for the food but not worth the hype or prices. Overall I think I'd rather take my $32 elsewhere. Like to Yazoo were I could eat my self silly and have $12.00 to spare!

5 stars, from people who usually don't eat BBQ? I'm baffled by the prices too, was it Wagyu beef cooked so tough I didn't know it? This place is a definite "meh I've experienced better" first off the tea was stale, I gagged when I tasted it. It a had the taste of "it's time to get the biofilm out of the tea urn including the spout, by maybe cleaning it?" Secondly, we had the brisket, two words: very dry! Sure it had a smoky flavor, but in my travels I've had "burnt ends" that were juicier or that at least had a more complex flavor than liquid smoke. I didn't once see anything in the coloring of the meat to suggest any skill, no smoke ring, pellicule, etc., just gray dry meat. The sauce was ok, nothing ground breaking, and service was very slow for 120pm on a Thursday, with not many people in the restaurant. Overall I don't see what the hype is about this place or even Prospect in general, Yawn....... One other thing, who is this Chef Extraordinare? Do they realize they spelled Extraordinaire wrong, ok that's harsh, maybe they meant to spell it that way? What makes he or she so extraordinaire or a Chef for that matter? Did they work for a Master Chef, or are they certified with the American Culinary Federation, or are they just throwing around some crazy title? So many cooks so few real Chefs, or good tea for that matter.

I am not a BBQ fan but my fiance loved this stuff and says it is some of the best. We shared a platter which consisted of: 1/3 rack of ribs, two meats, three sides and three buns. My fiance could have easily eaten more but it was a good portion. The cheesey corn souffle is really good, the spicy potato salad is mayonnaise based and is hot, the coleslaw tastes like it has a base of lemons (eh, we didn't touch this too much). Carrot cake is awesome and jinormous. Heads Up: you order at a counter, tip there and then your food is brought to you. We were given a ramekin of sauce at a time (which you pay for only once). There is only one stall per bathroom.

The best BBQ ever in Colorado. The meat of the ribs just fall off and melt in your mouth. My standard order is the Brisket Sandwish, with a splurge of fried mac if I so desire. This place also has pretty good brownies and a velvety carrot cake. This place is hopping on a sunny weekend. Thankfully I'm located within Prospect, and can call in my order and stroll over to pick it ;]

I am amazed at all the good reviews. As soon as we walked in I was in trouble. I noticed online that the prices were quite high, up to $30 for a plate. Then you have to order standing up and refill your own drinks next to the cash register. Pretty expensive for fast food in my opinion. My husband told me to give the food a chance... Well I got the chicken sandwich and literally wanted to pour my water on top. It was too dry to palate. The bbq was not good- the mild just tasted like black pepper and they got worse from there. I had to mix my ketchup into my sauce to even eat half of my sandwich. My husband had been looking forward to bbq all week since we were going for a bday party.. and he got the pulled pork brisket. His was also dry and he couldn't find a sauce he liked. He thought his was bad and mine was worse. Nobody at our table was actually complaining outloud.. but I assume that is because we were there for a bday and not paying for our own dishes. I would definitely not go back. I do not have anything good to say about this restaurant. BTW- I am 7 months pregnant and believe me.. if I find good food, I will eat it!

Honestly...the best! You won't find bbq this good anywhere else in Colorado. Then again, I haven't had a lot of bbq anywhere else. Trust me, this grub is good! They have fried okra, need I say more? Ok, I will say more the desserts are fantastic. Biggest slice of chocolate cake I've ever seen, and have eaten. Best part is, it's located in the cutest neighborhood ever! Eat it, and love it! P.S. Get the brisket or pork!

Finally, a place with gluten-free buns! Unfortunately, the last two times we went, they didn't have any. I think they just discontinued them but won't say so. Everything is tastty enough, but I think it's mighty pricey for Bar B Q. I suppose because their rent is awfully high seeing how it's located in Toon Town :-D

Based on the name, I rather expected a sit down restaurant but it was more of a BBQ bar, like a burrito bar: order and pay at the counter, then sit and eat. The ribs were rediculously tender and fell off the bone, for sure. Maybe it's cuz I'm from the east and I don't know what real BBQ is, but I'm not sure how I feel about all the sauce being on the side. I understand the idea of controlling the heat for yourself, but I kinda like it when the sauce is cooked in. Don't get me wrong. Really good meat. But, the selection was rather slim and I didn't care for the atmosphere. This is why I can't give it 5 stars.

ex.cel.len.te. holy moly, we are so deprived of good bbq back in the Bay. I've never tasted ribs this good until I came to this restaurant. We went here today for lunch and were greeted by the cashier when we walked in. She handed us a menu and we decided to choose their 1/3 slab rib platter with beans and french fries. After we ordered, they gave us a table card and we sat at one of their tables to wait for the food to come. We probably waited for 15 minutes or so before we got our meal, but time seemed to come to a stop when we ate our first bite. The juicy meat fell right off of the rib bones and with the XXX Hot sauce that we chose with the meat, it was absolutely glorious. Their beans and french fries were great too. Wow. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I absolutely love BBQ now. Thanks to The Rib House, my BBQ experience has been pretty flippin' sweet. I highly recommend this place!!!

I grew up in KC and now live in Houston so consider myself a bit of a Q snob. Driving back to Houston from Canada spent the night in Longmont. Really great BBQ in a very quaint subdivision (worth a walk around) I had the Baby Backs and my wife had the Marks Combo dinner. We also tried three of the sauces. The meat was slow cooked to perfection and the sauces were outstanding, a bit tangy'er that KC Masterpiece and not a sweet as Gates but real KC style.

We had a very good dinner and pleasant experience at this spot in the middle of a new neighborhood on the South end of Longmont. The architecture and color palette in this development is unusual and yuppimus maximus (being mild) but don't let that discourage you from finding this very good "Q" joint off of highway 287 (South of Pike Rd on Coffman). The ribs have a nice bark (good rub) and even though they are falling off the bone (intentionally) they still have a nice bite to them. The brisket is shredded and again is slightly overcooked but not dry and still has good flavor. The smoked sausage is nicely spiced and the sides are good too (we had the cheesy corn bake (think mac and cheese with corn instead of mac), chipotle potato salad (tasty with fresh veggies and a little kick), and a decent slaw. The medium and XXX hot sauce served on the side were both good (although the triple X was only R-rated unless you don't like heat.). The owner and his staff couldn't be nicer and the decor is family-restaurant nice. If I had any room left I would have liked to try one of the immense (HUGE) slices of cake but alas... I haven''t given any Q spots five stars (although some are so close) and although this isn't perfect BBQ, it's the best food I've found in Longmont and so five it is. Definitely my new favorite joint up north.

Just Okay. Sides were good, particularly the cheesy corn bake. However, the pulled pork sandwich was a bit dry, but the sauce was good, so I doused it with that. I got take out, so I don't know about service, but for a neighborhood restaurant, it's good for the convenience.

Rib House! Worked out at the rec center, worked all day programming, knowing that all the hardness of the day would pay off! Yep- anticipating the awesome smoky goodness of my fave spot in Toon Town (Prospect) would be my total day motivator. We've been to Tracy's joint more than a few times and have ALWAYS been satisfied. I love BBQ, and to have the Rib House within walking distance is dangerous! I mean, that in a good way. I don't know what those other 2 star reviewers are talking about! So what if you have to get your own sody! Sheesh! And no it's not $$$. Go to Famous Dave's- which is pretty much the same price and far near the quality. Any way the turkey leg was the special, and for two sides it was $8! Are you kidding me! Great food. Corn cheesy thing gotta get that. Everything just tastes fresh and like it was made for you. The ribs are the best. The babybacks are good- but the spare ribs are not that falling-off-the-bone variety. And that's good, some of us carnivores have to chew it right off the bone. Makes the experience even more satisfying. Yep. When you need a 'q fix def hit the RH. You can't go wrong.

Well, we went back. To be as succinct as possible, the food was poor(very dry and tasteless) to mediocre(ribs), the sauce was unimpressive, the service was nonexistent and the price was kinda proud. The only reason I can fathom the higher ratings is that there must be a really good BBQ place at the same location that we have missed twice.

Pretty good ribs. They'll do the sauce on the side if you like just the rib flavor and want to control the sauce flavor. Also, they have "Fried Mac & Cheese". First time we've heard of these and our kid loved them!

It's extremely overpriced. I've eaten here on three occasions, and don't understand what all the hype is about. I don't know how meat can fall apart and be dry at the same time. You really have to lather it in sauce to keep it from sticking in your throat.
