We go for Monday madness at least once a month. With two kids it's very important to us that a place have good service and be kid friendly. Our food is almost already great, never less than good. Order the special if you want the best available that night, they never fail to please. Service is excellent, and they cater to kids ( bringing them drinks first, food first if you ask ). The mariachi band is extra fun and my son loves to dance to them, the servers never complain that he's dancing in the walkway ( we try to keep him out of the way but kids can be enthusiastic) and more than once they have danced with him. This is our favorite family friendly Mexican eatery bar none!

Very good Mexican food here. Did not try the margaritas but the person next to us was enjoying the Cadillac! The fajitas were good and loaded with fresh vegetables and guacamole. The chicken chimi was fantastic, loaded with fresh shredded chicken and covered with guacamole. Black beans and rice cooked properly. Great salsa and fresh chips. Tortilla soup is huge and loaded. Service is a bit slow but the food is worth it.

3 Margaritas has been our go-to Mexican restaurant for nearly 10 years. Unfortunately, our visit today was also our worst ever. The booth we were seated in not only had duct-tape repairs to rips in the vinyl, there were big new rips that were not even taped. My wife said the women's restroom was "disgusting". These are signs of bad management. It will be a while before we go back.

Honestly, there are just way too many good or better Mexican restaurants in the area. While noting is horrible, it was just... ehhhhh. We tried a 2nd location the other day, and experienced the same thing. I don't think I'll be heading back to any of their locations unless someone else is buying. Service at both locations was OK, this one was very acceptable though.

Drinks are nice and stiff. Stick with the booze then get tacos down the street at Marcos.

Excellent mexican food and excellent service. A single dish is more than enough for one person. The cost of food plus drink averaged 14 dollars.

Very nice burritos. Middle of the road Mexican food, that the kids are likely to like.

I am visiting from st Louis mo and came here because it was next to my hotel. Service was excellent everyone was so kind. I had the deluxe enchiladas and my husband had the beef fajitas and everything was excellent! Huge portions of food. My husband did comment that his margarita was very strong but why complain about that(lol) overall very great!!! We would definitely go again if we are in the area!!!

The margaritas were good, but a friend and I got some steak fajitas (which should be a staple) and the meat was low quality it looked like skirt steak. The food was disappointing but it inspired a friend and I to go to the Grand Canyon right after our meal. I would no recommended this place to anyone.

Well this is a place to eat so the most important part is the food. And the food tastes bland. It has no flavor to very little flavor. I ordered a fish taco plate. The only flavor I had was the beans they served on side. The rest had no flavor and the fish look like it came out of the frozen isle of the grocery store. You know triangle looking and bread battered. I know it wasnt fresh it tasted like nothing at all. Didnt even smell like fish or anything. I had rice too on the plate but it didnt even have any taste either. Payed 15$ for a plate of tastless food that i could of done better making at home. A joke. Quality of food is important. And so is preparing it. I dont think it was the cooks that made this food bad, i think it was the food they had to work with made bad results. Also the place isnt very clean the walls have food splatter /dots on them if you look close and the silverware is worn down too. Maybe they should update the lighting to make it a lil brighter as well things seem a bit dim. The good: The actual design of the building is great and the booth seats are perfect and cozy. Also they have plenty of staff that speak Spanish if you prefer/want that kind of service. My friend also really likes the house margaritas. Hope this helps both the owners and the customers.

Clean as a whistle. Go during lunch, no waiting at all & it's the same dang price as McDonald's practically but real food. The cheese dipped chimichanga on the lunch menu-healthy choices is to die for. $7.95 & the portions are huge. I couldn't even eat half of it. Wait staff was very attentive & fast...best I've seen in a long time. If more people knew how nice a spit this is for lunch & how fast the service is...it would be as packed as dinner hour is. No knocks from me. Great dining experience , great food & great value. What more could you ask for?

Mostly four stars for the great mariachi and good people. We came today after 3 years away and 3 margaritas has a big menu with a little bit of everything. Love them!

I hate to rate like this for any restaurant, but unfortunately I believe reviews like this encourages an establishment to be better/improve. My husband and I recently ordered for take-out and had the steak dinner. We were so sick the following day that neither of us could even get out of bed much less get to work. It's truly the sickest I've been in many years. In hind sight, the steak didn't look or taste quite right but we also trusted that the food would be prepared correctly. They have lost valuable and long-time customers. I am particularly sorry that their chef/ownership didn't take the time to properly care for their meat because this review will surly cost them customers. I hope they take this review as a push to reevaluate their current management and use it as a reason to change for the positive.

Absolutely Gross!!! This so called Mexican restaurant needs to get rid of the Nasty Carpet that stinks and fix some FRESH Authentic Mexican food!! Terrible!

Never again. Just no. Now I'm a hard critic when it comes to Mexican food but there is just nothing good about the food here. I got one of the worst margaritas of my life here. The food was not good at all. I don't even understand how this plae stays in business. Even after a margarita, I had a hard time keeping the food down. And for the first time ever, I didn't ask for a doggie bag. Mainly, because I didn't have any interest in putting that food near me again. The service was fine. The waiter seemed knowledgable. So I'll give them the extra star for that. Unfortunately, these guys just don't have their Mexican food down. Sorry 3 Margaritas :/

I usually listen to my friends and coworkers who are Latino and Latina on their feedback as to where good Mexican restaurants are. I have been to other 3M's in the past and was never very impressed with the food. A Latina coworker of mine kept going on about the Vampiro alcoholic drink and that I should go there and try it. It was years since I was last at 3M so maybe they got better right? Wrong. So I went there and decided to try the Vampiro which was kind of a red margarita with a kick. It was fair but not outstanding like my coworker made it out to be. As far as the food goes it just didn't taste fresh and did not get enough TLC to make authentic and spicy. These are complaints I have had before with 3M. Definitely not impressed. There are a handful of good Mexican restaurants in Longmont but unfortunately 3M is not amongst that grouping.

I will NEVER return here ever again!!! I used to enjoy coming to this place for the mole chicken enchiladas and their delicious desserts. When I tried something new and ordered arroz con pollo, I started feeling sicker and sicker as the hours went by. I finally got severe food poisoning and when I was eating my meal I barley ate any of it. It was made with some type of disgusting ORANGE cheese sauce and not one bite tasted right. I was sick for about four days. We went during lunch hour and I was charged double the price for a huge dinner plate that I barley touched. The service has always been slow and horrible. I would never recommend this place. I would suggest fogoncito in longmont or tacos junior in Denver for a less American Mexican food experience. Don't get arroz on pollo!!

  • John F.

My wife and I ordered 2 regular margaritas that should of contained 1 oz of regular proof tequila each. We were poisoned, wasted drunk, sick, spins, unable to walk, blacking out, falling down drunk on 2 margaritas. Worst hangover in years. We are experienced drinkers, and know what we are doing, this is our hobby! We believe we were intentionally over served over spiked drinks in an effort to get us wasted so we would leave our laptop bags behind and the staff could steal $4K+ in laptops we had with us in bags after work.

Always prompt and good service. They check and recheck to make sure your order is right. Food is consistently good and they have big portions.

I have been here a few times, but this is my review. The service is okay. The kitchen makes their wait staff look like fools. Came with my in-laws, wife, daughter, and godson. Took 1:10 minutes to get our food. WTF? Rice, beans, tortillas, and some meat that was clearly cooked well before we ordered? I was pissed. They made me look like a chump in front of my in-laws. Ordered take out a few weeks before and they totally f@?ked up the order. Not only that, I called ahead 25 minutes in advance and when I arrived to pick it up, I waited another 15 and the whole thing was wrong. Food is decent, but they have got to get their act together. Piss poor management.

The atmosphere was cool but way overpriced! I got the shrimp fajitas and it only had 5 pieces of small shrimp very disappointed!

We went here as a family group, cause Sis and Brother in Law enjoy it. I liked the Margaritas, and enjoyed the food. I would definitely go back, and the service was good too. They even took our picture for us. Thank you!

Great lunch options and prices. Service was terrible. Our server happened to be the manager so he said and he gave me attitude when I complained that I had to ask another service for our check, more napkins, lemons, extra salsa. He was very rude. I will admit he took my bill and said "fine, then you don't have to pay!" I've worked in customer service before and I would never talk to a customer that way. The other servers that work there as well came in for lunch and were being so loud and swearing. When I informed him about that he said he couldn't do anything about that. I will never go back to this place.

We had a family gathering there a few weeks ago and they took great care of us. Never had to wait and offered sopapias for the kids afterwards. Food got messed up on 3 of our orders and then took about 15 minutes to get them back.

Love this place! This location is so much better than the one near Twin Peaks mall. The service was impeccable! Order the horchata! It's not on the menu but it's sooooooo tasty it should be.

Coming from California, I know good Mexican food, and when I am needing my burrito, refried bean, or chips and salsa fix, this is where I come. The staff is friendly, the service is prompt, I really like their horchata, and I the food is consistently yummy.

We finally went to 3 Margaritas after years of passing by it in the town we live in. We tried the margaritas, the ceviche, fajitas, and a combo plate of avocado tostada and a burrito. The margaritas were disgustingly sweet- I guess they rely on the mixes a bit too much, so we switched to beer after that. The best dish we ordered was the ceviche, which was good, but the strongest flavor was the lime, without even a hint of cilantro. The other dishes were much smaller than expected, especially the fajitas, and none of them were particularly fresh or flavorful. Everything was pretty mediocre, and since we live in a town with a ton of fantastic small Mexican places, I doubt we'll be back.

This is a local chain with several locations around the Denver area. Great festive atmosphere in this place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were tasty and the best in town so far. They have a HUGE specialty drink menu. I tried of of the high-class margaritas (they have so very many of them I can't remember the name of the one I tried) and was very impressed with it. Since it was Ash Wednesday, I ordered a seafood dish from their large selection of these, which consisted of barbecued shrimp on a large bed of sauced rice, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers and onions. The dish was delicious, even though I had to peel off the shrimp shells, which I was not expecting to have to do. I tried the house flan for dessert - the only weak point in the meal. The flan was hard and rubbery in texture, although it had a pleasant flavor - I think it may have been overcooked. All in all, a very nice Tex-Mex style restaurant that reminded me of home.

When we're looking for a reliably good mexican restaurant, we head to Tres Margaritas. Our favorite is the fiesta plate and the crispy chili rellenos. Some of the menu is just ok, but if you find something you like it will always be consistently good. Waitstaff is attentive, adn teh chips and salsa is always available (although they keep changing up the salsas) Even my Mexican friends will eat here as a treat, so you know it must be good. We're not a big fan of their bar. Margaritas don't have their typical sweetness. Mariachi and the guitar-playing singer aren't my favorites, so we try to stay away on those nights.

WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARDS HERE FOLKS!!!!! My waiter helped himself to a 60% tip on my credit card. I called and spoke to a manager and they confirmed it, said they'd take care of it...they didn't. I wrote a letter to them as a follow up. They ignored me. I reported it to the Police and BBB. CROOKS!!!! They have lost a customer for life because of their piss poor customer service. BeWARE.

3 Margaritas is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Longmont. The food is always excellent, and there's a huge variety. Read the menu carefully; you'll probably find something you didn't even know they had. The dinner portions in particular are huge. My wife and I always share something, and even at lunch we never leave hungry. The service is usually fast, and while you're waiting for your meal you'll get fresh chips and salsa --both mild and spicy. They're flavorful, and bottomless. You can sometimes catch fresh tortillas being made outside the kitchen, and even when you don't see it happening you can tell it's fresh food coming out of the kitchen.

Definitely a great place to have some good Mexican food. My lady and I come here every time we visit her parents in this area. I always order the arroz con pollo, and it seems to get better every time. She orders the beef chimichanga and for something so simple it is also very tasty. The margaritas here are also very good and a great deal during happy hour. The staff is definitely a reason to try 3 margaritas as well, very attentive, energetic, and extremely friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Longmont area.

This is what I call a "safe" Mexican joint. The food is very good, and they have a large selection on the menu. Some of the items I've tried seam real unique, and I enjoyed the way they use fruits in some of the dishes. They have some very good salads, and that's not something I'll usually order at a Mexican restaurant. They have quite a few locations in the Metro area, and all of the ones I've tried are good. Take note of the cool hand painted chairs and tables, it adds a real artistic flare. Oh yeah, and my default photo was taken at this place, having a shrimp and spinach salad.

OK, this is a chain but the food is great. If you are looking for a little eclectic hole in the wall this is not the place. It can be loud when busy, which is most of the time. The portions are huge, the chips are fresh an the salsa is good. I have never had a dish I didn't like here but now that I have discovered the Molcajete, I can't make myself order anything else. It is enough for two or three people and comes in a giant stone bowl that keeps it hot, plus another huge plate of condiments to put on your creations. I don't know how to describe it to do it justice but it is like fajitas on steroids. The only drawback is I would like to have more tortillas so I wouldn't have to stuff them so full.

  • Laura W.

They have WONDERFUL nachos, and even better margaritas!!! They were a but strong! We could only handle 2! The service was great as well. We went on a Friday, and since we were staying in the hotel right by it, we went back on Saturday. Our waiter not only remembered us, but what he all had to drink the night before!

We love going here for the plethora of delicious Mexican cuisine! One look at the menu can be a little intimidating, especially if you're hungry - they offer just about every authentic Mexican dish out there, and every one we've tried has been superb! Friendly staff, great prices, nice atmosphere, and efficient service!

Delicious food, friendly staff, and fun mariachi music! Definitely a great place to take the kids, or large groups, as they have nice, big tables to accomodate large families and groups.

Yuck. One more crappy chain in Longmont that serves "Mexican" food. Taco Bell is right down the street, you might find more authentic Mexican food there. A canned Margarita is a canned Margarita, and 3 of them won't make it any better.

  • Jonathan S.

The salsa was freshly made with little bits of cilantro and scallions mixed in and had a good spicy kick. The chips were good and crunchy, warm, and not oily. The food was very good, even though I'm difficult to please in the Mexican food category. I'm from Texas, where every little town has an amazing Mexican restaurant. Since I've been in Colorado, I've had a hard time finding Mexican food that doesn't taste like pot roast in a tortilla sitting in a puddle of enchilada sauce and a bunch of green chiles. 3 Margaritas surprised me. I had the chipotle chicken enchiladas lunch. Besides the 2 large enchiladas, it comes with Mexican rice, refried beans, and some kind of cabbage/carrot slaw. I drank water with lemon. My bill was $6.92. That's cheaper than a Big Mac combo, and it was yummy and very filling. It's similar to sour cream chicken enchiladas, but with a smoky, spicy kick from the addition of chipotle peppers in the sauce, and topped with Monterrey jack. I'll be going back to sample more from their huge menu.

Ordered takeout from here. Really good, even though my entree was a little cold, it was still tremendous in terms of taste. The salsa was homemade with just the right amount of cilantro and came in a dixie cup, yet so damn tasty I cherished every drop of it like manna from heaven. Great stuff!

Great family restaurant. Large menu, with options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Very friendly staff. Monday and Tuesday kid deals. 2.50 happy hour margs, that are actually worth it. Overall, a good local place to bring the family.

Wow, really great Mexican restaurant. Where to begin, you are greeted with a friendly smile when you walk in. This place is huge and bustling on a Saturday night. The decor is very Mexican inspired but not overly so. Once seated you are quickly asked for your drink order and the margarita options are endless. I went with the Las Rocas and it was big, good and strong. They also bring delicious chips with 3 types of salsa! The options are spicy, mild and a new favorite a spicy mushroom! So very interesting, kinda like ceviche but made with mushrooms and jalapenos. I've never tasted someyhing so good and interesting in my life, YUMMY. The menu is extensive here, There are at least 5 pages of small typed options, so much to try and so little time. I went for the enchilada, tostada combo with the green tomatillo sauce, fricking awesome! Everyone else also stuck to the green tomatillo sauce with their various options and everyone was super satisfied. Oh and the dessert menu was outrageous and we had to try, one dessert was enough for 5 people. We tried the banana chimichanga with cajeta sauce, ice cream and whip cream. The service was very good, after placing the order we were served in what seemed like 5 mins! Multiple servers were very attentive, water was always filled as well as salsas. Also be sure to ask for their hot sauce for you meal, homemade and a perfect kick to it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
