Was ok. The fatty salmon was good. I think they want too much for their heart attack sampler. They also use way too much rice on their rolls.

Great service. The food was wonderful too. The server was great with our kiddos but even more exceptional was the family sitting a couple tables down who had a kiddo that was a bit noisy. He was probably 12-18mos old and the server was playing peekaboo and looking for ways to engage the kiddo kindly. Again the food was great but have to point out the exceptional service not only at our table but at the table down from us too! Great job to the team on staff tonight.

Great sushi spot at very reasonable prices! Very friendly staff. Make sure to get the unagi roll.

One of my go-to places for Sushi. Nothing over the top, just a neighborhood place with consistent quality.

Did they change chefs? I remember the salmon teriyaki was one of the best, most moist fish of its kind, but this time I ordered it, it was dry and mealy. Everything else was just OK. Maybe my mood was killed when I got told I couldn't use the half off voucher when I displayed it on my phone - I had to have had it printed out on paper. What kind of restaurants don't accept an electronic copy at this time and age?

Quick Lunch I was in a hurry so I stopped in to have a quick healthy lunch. I got one of their lunch combos that came with six pieces of sushi and four pieces shashimi I think. I was surprised that it also came with a salad and a small soup. The quality was excellent and they were very fast so I will certainly be back.

Melting pot was packed so we decided to try Basho. It was hot around 6 pm and the place was 1/2 full. We were sat next to the door. Menu seemed like the standard fare. We ordered green mussels and kama for appetizers. We also ordered a few rolls and sashimi. My daughter loves sashimi but likes it cut thin. I asked the waitress how thick they cut the sashimi and she responded she didn't know. I asked to please cut thin and she said she would try. Anyway. .. i was informed the kama would take 30 minutes so i declined. Our rolls and sashimi came out rather quickly with no sign of appetizers. We ate. The rolls seemed to be missing something so upon review we noticed a small thread of fake crab in the California roll. That was indicative of the rest of the rolls. The sashimi was indeed cut to my daughter's liking. 15 mins after we were done with the rolls out comes the appetizers! If i would have know that the mussels takes 45 minutes i would have got my kama! Anyways, a guy came by and filled water and didn't fill my daughter's! They were both almost empty. Listen if you're in the area and there isn't anything else give it a shot! Sincerely, A Sushi Snob

Always great especially at lunch when you can get the sashimi and sushi combo for $10 with sou and salad. My healthy go to for lunch! Also, Yelpers get an edamame free on checkin!!

I love Sushi Basho for a lot of different reasons. It's inexpensive, the food is great, the wait staff is always so friendly, and we never have to wait for a table. the parking lot is a little bit of a cluster at times but overall it's not that big of an issue if you know how to drive. I am a huge fan of the green salad with the soy ginger dressing that they have. The salad is nothing fancy but I really prefer it that way so you can taste the dressing, sometimes the lettuce is a little wet and causes the dressing to come off as watery. My favorite sushi rolls are easily the King Roll, it has crab and mango and is just all around a special roll that everyone should try. I'm a huge fan of the spicy tuna, philadelphia roll, and the alaskan roll. If you get anything at Sushi Basho you must get the Alaskan Roll!! It is amazing. All of the ingredients they use are fresh and you can truly taste a difference in the quality.

Really good creative rolls. Great neighborhood location without having to travel. We are always pleasantly surprised, and never disappointed by the chef's specials. On the regular menu, try the wasabi roll, but again, always get a chef's special.

Sushi Basho is situated right off of Santa Fe and Bowles Ave; a bit of a weird parking lot shared with Toast, which I also want to try out sometime. Ryan K. and I came here on a Wednesday evening around 5pm. We were greeted by several servers and got our order in quickly. Prompt and friendly service = great! We ordered some sashimi and sushi rolls. The sashimi was thickly cut and a bit frozen; not the freshest we've had, but it was still decent quality. The sushi rolls we ordered: Philly roll (I ALWAYS go for this at any sushi restaurant), spider roll, unagi roll, and spicy tuna roll. All status quo--nothing to write home about but not terrible either. Sushi Basho was a good place to visit, but not super stellar. At least their sushi satiated our sushi cravings though.

  • Ande S.

Nothing really special. Server was a little cold much like the restaurant itself. Sushi was pretty good. We had the mango, volcano, tempura calamari, and spicy yellowtail. Only one I probably would t order again was the volcano. It was a little lack luster. The best thing about this place is that it's close to our house.

I am an avid Sushi Den goer, and have had sushi all of the U.S. I will pick Sushi Basho any day, for a more reasonably priced sushi meal, compared to the Sushi Den. I generally compare the salmon sashimi from place to place, to use as a measure of "freshness". Their salmon is right up there with the Sushi Den. I love their specialty rolls as well. I am a big fan of the Duke roll and the Coconut roll. I like to add jalapeno to the Coconut roll, to take away from the sweetness factor. It is generally not too busy here, which I am surprised by. It is very casual, and basic inside. I love downtown Littleton! What a great location. I highly recommend Sushi Basho, and I have been known as a "sushi snob".

Dee---friggin---Lish!! I took a business associate here for a working lunch. The service here is some of the best in Colorado I have ever had the pleasure of being waited on. The freshness and choice of items are really superb. Lunch specials also. Place is small so set a reservation. There is a 4 person table right next to the aquarium you can request. During evening time I think it would be really cool to sit at that table.

Okay... I wanted to give this place more stars. It's decent size inside, clean, nice smelling, and the waitstaff are friendly. It's 1230 in the afternoon just to set the background we were the only party present when we arrived. SUSHI IS AMAZING, FRESH, AND TASTY. My only complaint would be the watery ginger mustard salad dressing, and I like the rice in my rolls to be chilled. It was a little warmer than I cared for but still delicious never the less. White tuna was like butter. Unadilla in the black dragon roll and just by itself was incredible. Always nice to find someplace new!

I have always been put off by the idea of sushi in the middle of America. We live near by and have always said that we need to stop by and try it. We decided to meet some friends that frequent the establishment for dinner and we had a wonderful experience. The Service was great for being completely full with patrons. The sushi and sashimi was fantastic. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

Sushi Basho has the best sushi and seafood for the price. Jimmy and Jay are awesome with serving their customers. Unfortunately, the parking situation can be tight but it is worth the effort. The Duke roll is excellent. Very good and customer service.

  • Kendall F.

Great sushi and awesome service. This is how good it is-- I walked here in the snow instead of ordering DELIVERY from Rice. Jimmy is the head sushi chef and he is amazing. He always makes me exactly what I want. Jay is their best waiter as well. Always satisfied visiting the Basho.

Searched for last minute takeout sushi. First, didn't know primarily a Korean restaurant-I love Korean food so I would have ordered that. Fish/seafood quality not great, unagi especially was mushy and did not seem fresh. Rolls not rolled well, fell apart easily. Person who took my order over the phone seemed to not know the menu and it was a struggle to get what I wanted ordered, which was straightforward sushi and 2 rolls.

We came for dinner on a Saturday night using a $30 Colorado's Best Deals coupon. They were located on West Bowles Ave in Littleton near The Melting Pot. After reading the Yelp reviews, I made sure we came early. The small private parking lot was pretty empty when we went in, but totally full with cars waiting when we left. They need a website with a menu. They do have a Facebook page, but it's not very up to date. They have a nice color take out menu. The 4 rolls of sushi arrived on a large oval platter. Friend Roll ($11): 8 pieces of shrimp tempura inside covered with avocado, snow crab and eel sauce. It was very pretty. It looked like it was pressed in a mold to make it the square shape. Philadelphia Roll ($5): 5 pieces of just salmon and cream cheese. No sesame seeds or cucumber. Very plain, no crunch. I would not order this roll again. Salmon Skin Roll ($5): 5 large pieces of deep fried salmon skin, cucumber, scallion and tobiko with seaweed on the outside drizzled with eel sauce. Spider Roll ($11): 8 pieces of soft shell crab, crabmeat, cucumber and avocado topped with tobiko and house special sauce. I liked this roll. Hot tea ($2.50) was served in a ceramic cup and too hot to hold. We were served by about 4-5 different employees. Service was adequate and efficient. We probably won't be back since it is quite a drive for us and there are better places closer to us.

Went there to eat sushi at night. It taste ok. The place is just average. The sushi look like the sushi you would get at the grocery store. Check your receipt. Before paying.

I eat a lot of sushi and I am writing this review strictly on the fish/food quality. Sashimi was served warmer than it should be and the white tuna we ordered was not white tuna. It turns out they have a "super white tuna" which is in actuality, the regular white tuna that you would find anywhere else. $1 piece each is a FANTASTIC deal for sashimi though! We ordered two rolls and they were alright... The hurricane (tempura fried) and the kamikaze. They were pretty basic and lacked flavor. For the amount of food we normally order wth sushi (beer/sake included) the bill usually comes to $120-140. At sushi basho, it ended up being $90. This place is decent for sushi novice eaters, but if you eat a lot of it like me I would not recommend coming here. You ER what you pay for.

  • Emily G.

Nothing but average. Their happy hour sushi prices are good, but their sushi leaves a lot to be desired. The best things by here is the shrimp shogiaki (sp?). Their waitstaff also seems to be very inattentive. Spend your money somewhere else for better quality sushi.

They are my favorite sushi restaurant by far. Everything is always excellent. The Mexican Roll is my favorite.

  • Diane G.

I come here often and I have never been disappointed. The sushi is always fresh and innovative. They always have several specials on their dry erase board. They always have great sake and other alcoholic beverages. I was just in picking up takeout and they had a young lady at the bar probably six years old and they were giving her a taste of miso soup and other things she could try to see what she might like! I love the appetizer called dynamite it is probably not good for my cholesterol though it is rich and the wishes. I love the Duke role, kamikaze roll, Dragon roll and rainbow roll.

My husband and I called and made a reservation for dinner at 7:30 on a Friday Night. When we arrived, we told the man, who barely pretended to notice us, that we had a reservation. He then proceeded to ask if we wanted to sit at the bar, I told him no we made a reservation and would like a table. He the proceeded to shrug his shoulders and said "Oh well, you'll just have to wait then". After this, he proceeded to speak ill about us to his coworker (I know this because I could understand what he was saying) We obviously left and found somewhere more accommodating and less judgmental. These people should learn how to accommodate their guests when they make a mistake instead of bad mouthing them in front if the entire restaurant. We will never go back there.

The food here is always great and as far as sushi goes I think it's good and above average. I'm giving it 5 stars because of the seafood miso soup.. Im a soup fan and this is one of my favorite soups!

I went to Sushi Basho with a friend last night. It's a cute little place, and while it wasn't my favorite sushi ever, I was quite happy with it! Service was friendly, and actually a little too fast in my opinion-- we got our appetizer and soup basically at the same time. The menu has quite a bit of variety, with a full page of specialty rolls and a lot of appetizers and cooked options as well. We had: --calamari: crispy, not chewy, and really delicious. Probably the best part of the meal. --miso soup: not a stand-out, but good flavor. --spider roll: you can't go wrong with tempura crab and avocado, can you? --friend roll: if I remember right, this one was tempura shrimp topped with avocado and crab. It was great. --spicy tuna roll: unfortunately, not impressive. Not bad either. The fish was fresh enough, but it just was missing something to make it really special. Overall, I prefer Land of Sushi, but I don't have any complaints about Sushi Basho, and their calamari would definitely earn them a repeat visit. For reasonably priced sushi in downtown Littleton, it's a good spot.

Good quality sushi. Ambience is 1987. Great happy hour prices and great service. Black pepper roll with black tobiko is awesome. Come here when you want good sushi but don't need to impress. ..

Took food to go. It was just ok. I had Philly rolls. My husband ate one and I ate the other 7. He was sick one eighth the time I was! I was ill for 3 days! He only had an upset stomach for the rest of the evening. I won't give details.

Hey, this isn't the greatest sushi in Denver, but is certainly tasty, fairly priced and fantastic quantities! Perfect for lunch or dinner.

Sushi Basho - I am picky about my sushi - usually sticking to homemade by people I know and trust. I went to this location in celebration of a friend's birthday. Everyone was satisfied. The portions were large. The happy hour was good. The restaurant is small and the selection was broad. The sake/Nihonshu was flowing but I had iced tea. I tried sea urchin. It was very interesting. It literally melted in my mouth in a cold, sort of mucus, cauliflower-tasting way. For raw fish served on rice - Sushi Basho was nothing spectacular. I was bold and experimented with mixed results. Try the sea urchin. You'll be glad you did.

I really can't say enough about how awesome this place is. The sushi is reasonably priced and absolutely perfect, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the sushi chefs are masters of their craft. I love Sushi Basho!! Our server Ryan was an absolute pleasure!

  • Kearsley R.

My husband and I love this place. It's our little place we go for special occasions and romantic nights. I haven't had a roll I haven't loved. The wait staff is great and polite. The decor is simple and a little out of place, but they do have some interesting art on the walls but I go for the food and good service not the decor. If your a person that needs nice decor this would be a good place to takeout from. Just a tip.

  • David S.

For the price, this is really good sushi. I really love Sushi Den in Denver, but I can eat some sashimi, and that means I can spend some loot in Sushi Den. My friends suggested we pop in here after a fundraiser. It was just the start of dinner time, and about half full. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. The place has low-lighting, fish tanks, and pretty quiet acoustics (SD can get pretty loud). We ordered a couple of rolls, several pieces of sushi, and a few pieces of sashimi. The sashimi was very fresh and well-portioned. In fact, the server was specific with what fish had just been flown in that day. This kind of information, I appreciate (assuming it's true:). The rolls and sushi were well made and didn't fall apart upon eating, even given my hit or miss chopstick prowess. I don't know, for the price I feel like this is pretty damn good sushi. I wouldn't drive to Litteton from Denver just to eat it, but if you're in the neighborhood, you'll leave very happy.

Love love love this place! Their lunch specials are perfect if you work in the area and need a quick nibble in less than an hr at a sit down place. Very clean atmosphere and quiet with very attentive staff. I take everyone here whenever I'm in the area!

I love this place. It's the best sushi place in littleton. The staff is very friendly. I like sitting at the sushi bar the chefs are fun to watch and will give good recommendations on their favorites.

For years a coworker of mine used to go here for lunch and often invited me. At the time I was not a sushi eater and fearful to go. So glad I got over my fear and have begun experiencing the joy of good sushi! Stopped here last night to try it out finally and was very happy that we did. Having visited Hapa in the DTC recently and been extremely disappointed with them, my boyfriend and I both agreed Sushi Basho beats Hapa hands down! Quality sashimi (priced by piece so you can try new things easily), and really good sushi rolls. We went with yellowtail and salmon sashimi (to gauge a good comparison as this is something we order everywhere) and two types of rolls. Very happy with our choices. We will be back to try new things. Staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful. The decor is simple, but cute.

I have eaten at almost all the three-star and above sushi restaurants here in the Denver metro area, and I am a person who would fly to Tokyo for two days only to eat good sushi. I can say this, from the rice to the fish and to the sushi, this is the the best sushi restaurant in town!

My favorite sushi spot with a perfect balance of good sushi without the annoying atmosphere that comes with "trendy" spots. Great variety of rolls and usually great service. The atmosphere is accepting of casual attire but nice enough for a date.

Is there a way to give negative stars? Someone "Claiming" to be the owner contacted me via Yelp. This is the message. In its' entirety. "Hope next time we can serve u better, wish i was there so i can serve u better lol^^" Seriously. It would be bad enough that this is the owner's idea of proper business contact, but to top that message off, the same person who sent me that message also reviewed this business. AS A CUSTOMER. Something's Fishy Here... and it ain't just their old, cheap, Tuna Sashimi.

Met a friend here and had the three-roll lunch special plus a shrimp tempura roll to split (yes, I can pack it in). My three rolls were the California, the Boston and the spicy salmon. All of them were quite good, particularly the spicy salmon and the shrimp tempura roll. I will admit to being surprised ... mainly as since arriving to Colorado I have been disappointed repeatedly by the local sushi offerings. Rolls have been too fat and separated, unrefined and un-fresh. Did.Not.Want. The rolls at Sushi Basho, however, were fresh, tasty, compact and came out fast. Service was efficient and attentive. This place is in Littleton, which is farther away than I'd typically drive, but for good sushi I'd chase a rainbow. Recommend. Will be back again, and soon.

I am a bit of a sushi snob being from right on the beach in california, but man this place is impeccable! I can't recall exactly what i got as it was a few months back, but i do remeber being impressed with everry bite and it left me wanting more! They have a cutle little enclosed patio toward the back which is more secluded and quite if youre lucky to be the only ones out there.

Cute little place. Parking can be limited but there are several streets near to this place where you can park if you cant find parking at Sushi Basho. The evening of August 12 2008, seven friends and I went to Sushi Basho for dinner. Service was friendly, accomodating and prompt. Sushi ~ is just A-OK. The Chef's Special Roll I ordered for that evening were: Friend Roll & Mango Roll. The norm sushi I had were: Spicy Scallop Nigiri & Hand Roll Tobiko Flying Fish Roe Unagi Ebi Ama Ebi

My boyfriend and I love Sushi Basho. We moved to Colorado just over a year ago from Miami, and sushi wasn't something I expected to enjoy as much in a land-locked state. But, we stumbled upon Sushi Basho one evening, and it's been our only sushi hangout since we moved. It's a small place, nothing fancy. But, it's clean, and I find the ambiance charming. The wait staff has never been anything but helpful and kind. Everything is very reasonably priced, and we tend to stick to basic rolls (Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Eel, Tuna, etc) and we occasionally pick an appetizer. The Tuna Poke is amazing, truly - the creamy sauce they mix with what I have guessed is ponzu sauce is just decadent. Today, we had the fried calamari, and we LOVED it. Perfectly spicy and the panko covering on the calamari was -perfect-. And, the calamari were nice and soft, perfectly cooked. Sounds so simple, but 9 out of 10 times that I ordered fried calamari, anywhere, I am served a plate of gummy, overcooked junk. The rolls are great - not the very best I've ever had, but very, very good, nonetheless. I could stand to see a bit more filling in the rolls, but the amount they give is certainly a decent amount. I've never had a single piece of fish that tasted fishy - and, believe me, I'd be out the door if I did. I scrutinize raw fish pretty hardcore, and this fish has always been very fresh tasting. Overall, a great (if not small), inexpensive sushi joint. Definitely try it out at least once. I've considered trying out some of the other sushi spots in the Denver area, but I can't see paying more money for similar food, just because those restaurants get hype and have fancy locations. If you just want good food and don't care about how snazzy the place looks, check this place out.

So 45 minutes into our wait to be seated at Sushi Den on Friday night we said "f*ck it, you wanna get some pizza or something." We made our way back to Littleton and ultimately stumbled upon this place. It looks a little dive-ish on the outside and the clientele is more "middle class family" than the "yuppy d-bag" crowd you'll find at some of the other spots. With that said though, the sushi here is actually pretty good. We had an assortment of sashimi and rolls. They were all fresh and tasty. Only around $45 for a meal for 2 which is quite reasonable. My one complaint is that they were out of almost half of what we originally ordered. I understand that it was late on Friday night, but still a bit irksome. The stuff they did have was good though and we will happily return.

UPDATE: Hmmm, seems something has changed. Last time we were in they'd substituted a cheaper thinner slab of salmon (perhaps the Atlantic "salmon," which isn't truly a salmon) for the better stuff they used to serve. Prices have gone up. I'm not happy with the television they felt a need to hang on the wall, either--that's new. We aren't going as frequently and I've lowered my rating from four stars to three. It's okay, but not great. The service is still wonderful, we love the people who wait tables at Sushi Basho, they're consistently friendly and efficient. There are curtains on the windows but they're left open, so the camera on the traffic light still flashes into the room. Oh well. We'll see how this goes, but we're definitely not frequenting the place anymore. My previous review: We eat here pretty frequently (a couple of times a month) and it's always been consistently good. We usually order a couple of rolls and sometimes we'll get one of the main dishes like a teriyaki. We have never had a bad experience at Sushi Basho. My only complaint is the flashing light from the camera-enforced traffic signal outside. Curtains would take care of that! It can be incredibly distracting if you're sitting near the window. Oh and it would be really nice if the salads were less white iceberg lettuce and more of the good, deep green stuff--I often leave most of the salad, in spite of liking the dressing. The miso is good. The service has always been very efficient and the waitresses (don't think we've ever had a waiter) friendly. We like to eat here when we want something predictably good.

Well I finally made it over to Sushi Basho and I am very glad that I did. We waited to sit at the sushi counter (cause that's just how I roll) and we met Jimmy & Charlie. Sushi to me is a full sensory experience with includes chatting up the sushi chefs. We started out with the heart attack roll (think stuffed jalapeno) and although it didn't live up to the claim of coronary failure (thankful) it was very tasty. In fact, my partner in crime was begging for another one for dessert! We shared 3 rolls and my favorite by far wwas the Yum Yum roll. First off, when a guy gets to pull a blow torch out of his kitchen pantry and light it up there's not much more to be done but give our best rendition of Tim Allen's manly "grunt". Jimmy loves to share a sake shot and convesation as well, which filled my criteria for "full sensory overload". I'll be back and I suggest you make a detour here. it's not a huge place, so if there is a wait....just do it. You'll be thankful you did!

The sushi was good, the service was super friendly and prompt, the place was nicer than I expected, and the prices were fair. I would recommend going during happy hour and getting a bunch of sashimi pieces for $1 each, which is an absolute steal. Happy hour also features a two for one sake special, which makes the deal even better.

I think I am going to have to be a regular at this place. So, I have had this craving for sushi all week. And, I just started working at a new facility, so I thought I'd check out Yelp for the closest sashimi. Sushi Basho was just up the street so I headed over. I'm so glad I did! I snagged a couple of lunches to go for a co-worker and myself. Feeling adventurous, I ordered the "sushi lunch" and the "sashimi lunch" which came with no detail/description on the menu. For $11 plus tip I got about an ounce each of salmon, yellowtail, tuna & crab sashimi as well as salad and soup. That is a pretty awesome deal and I am now fat and happy :) They also had a fantastic lunch deal for roll lovers. You pick 2 or 3 rolls from a list of 20 (the usual suspects with a few interesting ones like "East Maki") with soup & salad for $8 ($10 for 3 rolls). The restaurant itself is small. The tables are a bit close together, so I don't think I'll be taking a date here. But, there is a nice sushi bar for eating solo and watching the chefs do their magic. The restaurant was pretty empty when I dropped in just before noon, but if you ever have to wait for a table, there is a nice little sake bar to keep you occupied. I snagged their menu, so there will be many Sushi Basho Fridays to come ;)

Wow what a let down. I had read good things But have no idea why after going here. I went with 2 other friends and we really like to have our faves and try some new things. we ordered 5 spicy tuna rolls. and 1-2 other rolls person. when we handed over out little menu the person taking our order tried to talk us out of eating 5 tuna rolls. we were kinda shocked after she kept saying we must have been nuts to order that many rolls between 3 people repeating it a few times and going as far to point out other things on the menu instead. we got our food fast [it helped being the only people there] and looked down to see some of the smallest little rolls at a non all you can eat place. We ate everything up quickly and found our sushi to be kinda bland. The bill had to be the worst part about the place. Almost 90 bucks for 3 people to eat 3-4 rolls each with drinks. The sushi wasn't anything special or anything with expensive seafood. What we found most enjoyable about our meal were the lights in the place. They were cool looking. But that's about where the good part ended. I have no idea why anyone enjoys this place.

I went here for the first time tonight & the food was REALLY good! I had the spicy crab, salmon, scallops, & tuna. Wow! No complaints on the sushi. What this place lacked in ambiance, it made up for in spades with the charming waiter & waitress we had. I think I've found my new favorite sushi place! Yay! Oh, they also have buy one get one free on the sake... BONUS!

We met friend here sat night at 5pm for dinner. The wife of our friends doesn't do sushi, so she got the teriyaki chicken with the veggies. We started with miso soup and edamame. The hubby of the couple and myself and my hubby went to town ordering sushi! Our favorites included US Dream roll- tuna inside, tempura fried, Yummy Roll - seared tuna on the top, tempura tuna inside, Basho Roll - spicy tuna inside and on top. The fish was very fresh, the rice on the sushi was nice and small so it made it easier to eat more! The egg (tamago) was great and the inari was tasty. The wait staff was extremely attentive, my water was always full, and the food arrived very quickly! Parking can obviously be an issue since it is also right next to Toast, which is also a popular destination. Definitely get there early and enjoy yourself!

Went for lunch, did the 2-roll lunch combo. While everything was edible, it was also very bland. The salad dressing was the only element with any flavor. There was far too much cream cheese in the Philly roll - it overpowered the smoked salmon. The spicy tuna roll was so mildly spiced that at first I thought I'd been given a plain tuna roll. Bottom line, the fact that it is the only sushi joint close by this part of Littleton probably has more to do with the success of this place than anything you're going to find on your plate.

Hands down the best sushi in Littleton! They have a huge menu and amazing sushi! Fresh and delicious! They also have delicious meals besides sushi. Every time I have guests in from out of town, this is one of our stops.

  • Tina M.

Extremely delicious!!! We try to go at least once a month. The prices are very reasonable, especially for lunch! You can get a 3 roll box lunch with soup and salad for 10 bucks. The chefs are always trying new things, if you sit at the bar during dinner, you might get a treat!!! I recommend the Taiko Roll or the Hot Roll

    (5)
  • Kristine R.

I love Sushi Basho!! I had never had sushi until this little place! Every time we sit at the bar and the owner -Jimmi-always helps me pick new things to try. And I'm never disappointed. And hot sake is always 2 for 1!! Their Tuna Poki is BOMB!!! and its my birthday today, we are going tonight to celebrate!!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! The service is wonderful! and we take all our friends from out of town to BASHO and everyone loves it!

I live and work nearby but never stopped in because the front looks like a gas station. Inside is much nicer, but it looks like they cobbled together furnishings (I counted 4 styles of hanging lamps; carpet plus odd shiny black flooring; unappealing tables and chairs). Service was very friendly, lots of upselling, though. Miso soup was bland and I tasted of onion all night (presumably onion in the soup because we then ate only plain sushi). Fish was cut very small but the sushi rice itself was not overly large. Our bill was surprisingly low. We kept saying "This isn't bad...and so convenient" but I won't likely return. Spend the extra time and money to go to a real sushi restaurant.

I must admit, this place surprised me! I keep doing this thing lately: driving around in my car totally starving, and pulling over at the first restaurant that looks interesting. I know there's that cool Yelp app and all, but sometimes I like just random stops in the offchance I find a little hidden gem. Right? (This usually works 2/3 of the time, btw.) Anyhoo, I stopped in at Sushi Basho with my crazy.sexy.cool dinner date this week, and ended up being pretty darn happy. First off, they were trying a new kind of sake - coconut lemongrass - and were giving free samples. That's always good in my book! It was especially strong and flavorful. They also serve the kind of seaweed salad I love - the little bright green stringy bits with a sweet, hot oil and sesame seeds - and the portion was sized just right. The sushi itself was small portions, but fresh. And I had one of the tastiest rolls that I can remember in a long time: spicy tuna topped with cliantro and roe. But I guess you really have to like cilantro to dig this roll. Staff was uberfriendly, but I thought it was pretty funny that one of the sushi chefs said he doesn't eat the sushi there. Hmm......should I be worried?

Great place! Love the Tuna Poke, that other reviewer was on the money. It is a must try. It is a little loud when the place is crowded. Fish is fresh and service is friendly.

Great Sushi! We have been coming here for 5 years and can't get enough! They always have fresh Sushi, and have a good variety of creative sushi rolls that my boyfriend likes to try! The dragon roll is awesome! Super friendly servers, and food is ready pretty quick. Whenever we have a date night and aren't sure where to go-- This place always works! (The Saki is great too!)

I would give 5 stars but Sushi Basho has been off a few times I've gone (out of about 30 times). This sushi restaurant can compete with any Denver sushi restaurant. If you want a flashy restaurant go someplace else but this place delivers the goods.

    (4)
  • Mike B.

The sushi here is decent, unfortunately the service is not. Multiple times I have been waiting over 15 minutes just to get a drink. Atmosphere is nothing fantastic, and the biggest downside here is the price. There are multiple places within 15 minutes whom offer better sushi at lower prices.

    (2)
  • Michael R.

Sushi Basho is tucked away into a little corner, a corner that you could easily pass by. Don't! This is hands down the best sushi place I have been to in Colorado (and we seem to have some damn good ones here). It isn't the most romantic place in town but it is clean and inviting. The staff has always been friendly and they have a unique, changing menu of specialty rolls. The US Dream Roll is fantastic. Portions are generous and the price is on par with just about anywhere else you can go. I've never had a piece of fish that I felt wasn't fresh or up to my standards. Give it a try if you are in the area.

  • Katie P.

This a a great little place. I usually go there for lunch, and the price is reasonable for the quality of the food and the amount you get. Most of the lunch specials come with soup and salad. Wait staff is always really friendly.

My new editor called me last week to schedule an emergency business dinner and specifically requested sushi. I checked Yelp and found this place right near by and hoped for the best. We were all very happy with the choice. It's a very intimate setting and the servers were very sweet and understanding when we forgot to check the menu because we were too busy talking shop. It was slow when we arrived, but even after business picked up the noise level was perfect - loud enough that we didn't feel awkward getting excited, but quiet enough that we never had to strain to hear each other. The establishment was perfect for a relaxed, professional dinner. I don't remember everything we ordered, but I do remember that I was very impressed by the Golden Roll and the Friend Roll. I was particularly excited about how supple and soft the salmon was - it smelled so fresh that you could taste it before it reached your mouth. Divine! The rest of the sushi must've been unremarkable, though, because I don't remember it at all. If you do go to Sushi Basho, don't forget dessert. The fried bananas and green tea ice cream were probably my favorite part of the night - the ice cream was pretty obviously commercial boxed product (my guess is Haagen Daaz), but the banana's wonderful texture made up for it and more!

  • Kelly W.

I have been here many times because i live nearby. The last 2 years, I have had hit or miss luck with sushi basho. My most recent experience this week was by far my most disappointing. Noticed the fish to rice ratio isn't the same as well as the service. I would say that you will enjoy your meal, but with all of the other choices out there- I would select one of those. prices might be a touch lower than the competition, but you get what you pay for.

Though the place is small it's pretty darn good. The ambiance is nice and comfy though it can get loud when it's busy. Dine in or take it to go it's always good eats.

Littleton isn't exactly a sushi haven (being the small town that it is), but the fact that it has two great Sushi restaurants is pretty awesome. Now when I am eating sushi I could really care less about atmosphere. If you want atmosphere + sushi in Denver, your choices are really Sushi Sasa and Sushi Den. If you want the freshest fish in town, head to Sushi Basho. The fish is amazing, and the best part (Which the other reviewer neglects) is that their sushi is big, and $1/piece when you dine in (It's $2/piece for take-out which is still a good deal). That is a fantastic bargain for fish that is amazing. The owner is always presents, super friendly, and will guarantee that you are enjoying your meal.

What a great find! My husband and I used to go to Sushi Den all the time and since moving south we discovered Sushi Basho. The food is phenomenal! We love the spicy scallop, sweet potato, and eel rolls. The decor is not as trendy as the Den, but it is clean and the service is great!

Oh my gosh this place is so good!! I am elated to have found an amazing sushi place just down the street from me. Sushi Basho definitely rivals some of my fave sushi places in San Diego and San Francisco, so I am delighted! I thought I'd left the land of good sushi when I left the coast. My favorite roll that I had this last time was the Tiger Roll--one of their specials; I hope they have it more often because it is yummy!! Go check this place out--it's a gem!

terriyaki beef & shrimp 1/5: extremely dry, overcooked and what was up with the watery, runny sauce? absolutely disgusting and actually felt embarrassed for the piece of meat ninja roll (softshell crab) 3/5: actually decent, but nothing spectacular hamachi roll 2/5: bland, but at least fresh spicy tuna 2/5: see above Service was ok.. Seafood was fresh but absolutely tired. Overly priced IMO, but I am learning not to expect much for seafood out here

Their miso soup is really good. Great service. It's a pretty small place so they can give you extra attention and there isn't a wait. Good sushi! Will go back often!

Decent sushi for a decent value! I'd say 7-8 out of 10. Not bad at all. Not mind blowingly awesome, but when we want sushi it's pretty damn good.

This place isn't half bad at all! I just moved back from San Diego and It competes with my favorite places out there. I always do the specials here just so I know this fish is fresh. Manhattan roll is amazing too!

  • Julia B.

I live across the street from Sushi Basho. I've been there 3 times, and have yet to find a roll i really love. Their standard rolls come really small and have very little fish with a lot of rice. The specials are scribbled on a white board, that is extremely hard to read. Service was slow and the ambiance leaves something to be desired.

  • Elizabeth H.

Freshest, most delicious sushi in the Denver area. I'm salivating even thinking about it. Their Super White Tuna is amazing. The service is great. If it wasn't so far from my house, I'd probably go here everyday.

DH and I eat sushi about once per week, and this is our location of choice. There are a few closer to home, but this one is better. Good quality sushi at reasonable prices. We have been going there since they opened, and we used to be the only ones there! But in the last year or two it is often busy, but never full. Wait staff is only OK, no different from any other sushi restaurant around. I just assume that's this is how it is in Japan.... We also love the cucumber and avocado salad, and they do a good job here - good size and nice presentation. I love the flower roll!

Great teriyaki and sushi. Went here for dinner and enjoyed the meal greatly. I didn't care for the tempura that my partner ordered but, that's just me. Definitely a great place to eat.

i just adore this place and am so glad to see the little parking lot full most nights! the happy hour is amazing (2 for 1 sake and $1 sushi) and it STARTS at 5 and goes (i think) all night. the fish is fresh, the rolls are interesting and the staff EXTREMELY friendly! try it, you'll like it!

Love this place, was discovered by my cousins a few years ago, and ever since they turned me on I can't get enough- The price is right and the sushi is pretty dang good too. Simon the host, well- he will never forget your name, unless you tell him to! well worth the drive to Littleton for a good roll, and fantastic green tea ice cream- YUMMMY!!!!

This is one of my favorite spots for sushi. When you walk in the door, you get a good view of their huge aquarium filled with colorful tropical fish. Then you are greeted by one of the many friendly staff members. The sushi tastes fresh and delicious. Be sure to try something on the chefs board. They are always so creative with the rolls they come up with.

My wife and I have eaten here a number of times and always enjoy it. She is vegetarian, so enjoys the vegi rolls & the tofu agadashi while I enjoy the typical sushi fare. Service is ok, but not great. Atmoshpere is about the same, but the food always keeps us coming back.

My wife, son and I enjoyed a great meal at Sushi Basho. We were seated next to a large salt water fish tank with a number of colorful fish. We hoped the fish didn't mind us eating sushi. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night. There was a large birthday party at a neighboring table. Yet, our food was delivered with amazing speed! Our waiter was quite personable as were the servers. The sushi seemed fresh and the beef and chicken tempura was more than enough to eat. Very good, we'll go back some day

  • Nicole S.

I love this place. It looks a little dingy from the outside, but it's awesome! The sushi is yummy, the staff is very nice, and it's reasonably priced - for sushi. I do have a one problem that comes up every now and then, but not often enough for me to stop going...one of the sushi chefs makes tiny rolls. They are the smallest tolls I have ever seen and it can be disappointing. However, it has only happened a few times ever and I have been a regular there for 4 years. All in all, love it!

  • Dave K.

I'm going to keep this one short - the sushi is good, a little expensive when it's not "sushi happy hour," but not outrageously so. Service was friendly. The main problem I can see is that there's not much parking - the lot was pretty small, and I don't think there's any street parking nearby. There are the downtown Littleton public lots a few blocks away, I imagine you'd have to use those on a weekend night.

    (4)
  • Bryson S.

Was ok. The fatty salmon was good. I think they want too much for their heart attack sampler. They also use way too much rice on their rolls.

  • Scott G.

  • Lily S.

  • Mary W.

    (3)
  • Emily G.

Nothing but average. Their happy hour sushi prices are good, but their sushi leaves a lot to be desired. The best things by here is the shrimp shogiaki (sp?). Their waitstaff also seems to be very inattentive. Spend your money somewhere else for better quality sushi.

Have been frequenting this honey hole for many years. The tuna poke is the reason we keep coming back. Delicious sushi at an affordable price is hard to find that is why sushi basho is a gem.

Just a tip.

I love Sushi Basho!! I had never had sushi until this little place! Every time we sit at the bar and the owner -Jimmi-always helps me pick new things to try. And I'm never disappointed. BONUS!

  • Mary W.

Took food to go. It was just ok. I had Philly rolls. My husband ate one and I ate the other 7. He was sick one eighth the time I was! I was ill for 3 days! He only had an upset stomach for the rest of the evening. I won't give details.

Just a tip.

This place isn't half bad at all! I just moved back from San Diego and It competes with my favorite places out there. I always do the specials here just so I know this fish is fresh. Manhattan roll is amazing too!

Hands down the best sushi in Littleton! They have a huge menu and amazing sushi! Fresh and delicious! They also have delicious meals besides sushi. Every time I have guests in from out of town, this is one of our stops.

BONUS!

  • Mike B.

The sushi here is decent, unfortunately the service is not. Multiple times I have been waiting over 15 minutes just to get a drink. Atmosphere is nothing fantastic, and the biggest downside here is the price. There are multiple places within 15 minutes whom offer better sushi at lower prices.

This a a great little place. I usually go there for lunch, and the price is reasonable for the quality of the food and the amount you get. Most of the lunch specials come with soup and salad. Wait staff is always really friendly.
