I have been going to this restaurant for awhile now, and I love it. The food is hands down amazing, the quality is consistent throughout all the food and every time I go there. Their vegetarian orange chicken is to die for, it tastes just like the real thing. The waiters are very welcoming, and it's awesome to hold a conversation with them. Their soup is on the house, and it's is amazing. The environment there is so welcoming, and you can tell they really care about their customers. The restaurant itself is bright and open. The food is fresh and light. Love this place.

Get your own soup. Excellent choices of asian chinese dishes. My favorite is actually their pork fried rice. Excellent service and great atmosphere cozy and clean. A you would not be disappointed.

I would give zero stars if I could. Honestly the food is very low quality for what they are changing for it. I've been here twice. I decided to give it a second try today. I ordered sushi and a wonton soup. The sushi can be compared to sushi bought from your local grocery store. Old ingridients, low quality, and small portion. This roll was 6.75... I've have sushi from a ton of places. I know my sushi. This was by far one of the worst rolls I've ever had. It's a disgrace to serve such thing to customers (yet alone a for a first timer, that would be the worst thing possible). The wonton soup was very thick. I've also had that from other places and this is the first time I could say that it literally made me take a second look at it because it seemed more of a egg drop soup. Anyways, save your cash and find a better place that sells the REAL deal.

This place is so deceptively bad. It looks nice, beautiful in fact, but don't let it fool you. The service is so bad. It doesn't matter how empty it is you'll be waiting awhile. The lady at the front desk is just plain mean. I get the impression she hates kids by the way she treats people with them. She also acts like everything you say is a lie. The food is fine, but dining out should be a pleasant experience. This place will take your money and let you down.

I was so pleasantly surprised...I read the reviews before I went here but I guess I didn't know exactly what to expect. The food was flavorful, service was great, and the free soup was awesome. I tried a little of. both...egg drop and hot and sour. next time I will try the tea :).

Consistently good food and service, and the delivery drivers are friendly if you choose to stay home. I love the pork egg foo yung and Hunan beef, and my wife really likes the cashew chicken. Good hot and sour and egg drop soups. It's a little disappointing that their all day meal specials are only available at lunch time now, but given the rising prices of ingredients, I'm not surprised.

I ordered some lunch for pick-up from here using their website. I love being able to order online I was excited they seemed vegetarian friendly too. I walked in and was greeted promptly and was brought my order almost immediately. I noticed how nice the restaurant looked and wished I could stay to eat my food. Sadly I don't think I would go back. They did pack up my order nicely. I had been pretty excited about the dearth of veggie options, with both mock "chicken" and "beef". I was a little disappointed that if you chose either of these you had only brown rice to accompany. However with my sesame tofu I had a choice of brown, white, and fried rice. The texture of the fake chicken was alright but a little chewy and hard to manage in the golf ball size nuggs, the tofu was a tad softer than I like but oh well. I can get over the shortcomings in the protein but those "sauces" yeesh. I had kung pao and sesame meals but both were flavor challenged, lacking spice or heat and had a consistency of water, red colored water. They did not coat or complement the protein well. The rice was cooked well. I had also ordered crispy wonton noodles, too bad mine had been sitting out for a day? so stale but no sweet and sour, duck sauce, or hot mustard packets were included to help out. I see now on the menu you have to order and pay extra for that, they did give me some soy sauce, I'm not really a fan of soy sauce unless I'm eating sushi. Yummy fortune cookies. Sad because they are really close to my work and had such promise, perhaps I caught them on a off day, but I'll take my taste buds elsewhere.

The first time we came here was very good. Lots of flavorful food at a very good price. LOVE the unlimited egg drop soup! The food and the service were both flawless. If I were rating on that one experience alone, this would have been a five-star review. The second time was not as great. On that day, I didn't particularly want rice with my meal, so I asked if I could have an additional portion of vegetables instead. The waiter argued with me, saying that I couldn't substitute veggies for the rice because the meal already came with a side of broccoli. I told him that was great; I just wanted MORE veggies. Nope, he wouldn't work with me at all, not even for an up-charge. I thought that was weird and stupid, but I don't like arguing with servers so I let it go and ordered my food with the damn rice. When it finally did come out (several minutes after my companion's meal), the broccoli was cold as if it had been sitting around for 20 minutes after being cooked, but the shrimp was too piping hot to eat! Very strange. So the two disparate experiences averaged out to a three-star rating. We plan on going back to try Sunflower one more time, but I'll admit that there's not much motivation to do so.

I was feeling very anti-cooking the other night, and didn't even want to drive to get takeout. We got a menu in the mail for Sunflower Asian Café and decided to give it a try. Delivery was free for an order over $15 within 5 miles, and we were given an estimate of 45-60 minutes, but it came in just over half an hour. I had the teriyaki salmon bento box, and it was great. It came with very fresh salmon, vegetable fried rice, a small California roll, and shumai dumplings. All of it was good, and I was even impressed with the California roll, which I think was made with real crab. My husband had the teriyaki chicken bento box. His chicken was mixed with noodles, so we think we may have gotten the wrong order somehow, but he ended up liking it. We also got an order of crab cream cheese wontons, which could have been a bit more crispy but we still liked them. I'm not sure what happened with the teriyaki chicken bento, but we really liked everything we ended up with, and it was very reasonably priced. I'd definitely order from them again.

They put a whole new meaning to 'Egg drop' ... Fair warning. Ordered a few different items, all of which were pretty sub-par. But the worst was the Orange Chicken. Batter was clearly under cooked, which made me question the safety of the chicken. LoMein was beyond salty. At this point 1/2 of what I ordered is not edible, so I took it back. Cashier was very helpful and understanding. But the delivery driver seemed to be the one offended by me complaining about under cooked chicken. Perhaps the delivery driver is also the chef??? Who knows. But he was incredibly defensive and argumentative. And the best part....ready for this??? I woke up the next morning to several eggs on my car and garage door. Not randomly thrown eggs either. Strategically placed on my windshield. While I don't have surveillance cameras, I am not an idiot and it's easy to deduce the culprit. Filed an incident report with the police for fear of what else might happen if this driver decides he's still pissed. So, the moral of the story is. If you don't like your food that was delivered, you have no option of complaining without royally pissing someone off.

This is not s bad place. It is sad that they stop deliver to my apartment. Love their sushi. I like their Thai curry. Knowledgeable staff. Fast delivery when they did.

Love this place! We've been eating here for 3 years & are always happy with it. Takeout, delivery or eating in -- it's delicious. And the staff are super nice.

Really bad food, and horrible customer service. Don't waste your money or time. Personnel are very rude. I'm afraid to share my story in fear of getting egged like a previous customer I read about.

I really like this place. A lot. It is like the best of American Chinese food :) I was put off by the name at first for some reason and the surroundings in the restaurant are super generic (maybe not a date place). I've only eaten in the restaurant once and I liked the self-serve soup area. We used them recently to cater a bridal shower and they food was delicious, reasonably priced, and on time. I personally love their Egg Foo Young (ham) - the gravy is stupidly good. Also, the fried rice is amazing. Every time I've ordered delivery, the food has been hot and fast.

Exceptionally good everything, except for the sushi. Sushi here is the same as cheap grocery store sushi (i.e. strong-bad). The fried rice is crazygood, and the orange chicken and broccoli beef are amazing. Verdict: eat everything but the sushi.

Good place for fairly fast asian food at lunch time. If you order an entree, you get free all-you-can-eat, self serve soup (hot and sour or egg drop). This is great if you are hungry and want to start eating right away. I work just a block away, so I have been here many times. The food is pretty good, but varies depending on what you order. It is a large menu and I have only tried a small portion of their offerings. The best deal is the lunch menu, with many dishes under $8 that also include the soup, eggroll, and fried rice. I have had the orange beef a few times and it is ok. If you are looking for something on the healthier side, the healthy chicken and vegetables is a great choice. They do a nice job with their veggies by not over-cooking them (broccoli comes out just right). The sushi is pretty average, but it is a nice option if you are in the mood (not a lot of other choices in this area). The dining room is nice, and it is a nice atmosphere. The staff are nice and do a good job. I have tried ordering online for delivery once, but that turned out to be a disaster. The person taking the order could not really understand any basic English. It was a struggle. After several attempts, I finally threw in the towel and just drove there. They do have a "drive-through" if you order take-out. It is behind the building and difficult to see if you don't know about it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
