Three of us ended up here after our original destination was closed for lunch on Mondays....but what a great "oops" for us! Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and seated in a nice booth. Our drink orders were taken and then we had some questions for the server. He was dresses impeccably and was so nice and professional! We ordered some apps to share - all were tasty! We all really loved the smoked salmon fried wonton - YUM! Based on our questions, I ordered the Ken Caryl roll - and the other ladies each ordered a Bento box. Everything came to the table looking delicious and tasting even better! The amount of food in the Bento box was nearly enough to feed 2 people! The Ken Caryl roll was very good - loved the sauce. Service was spot-on - they anticipate your needs - which is a sign of a great server! I still plan to try the other place which was our original destination, but will definitely return to Okinawa Sushi very soon!

Okinawa sushi is fast and good and comes with a really reasonably priced items. I was in the mood for something fried. My go to fried dish is always the Shrimp Tempura. In this case I opted for their bento box. Veggie in the same form was in the box and a nice little non fried item was a couple of California Rolls. Cute surprise! Loved it. No monku!

We came whilst the place wasn't very busy (I think we came at like 2 pm or something) and I decided to order the spicy tuna roll plus salmon sashimi while my boyfriend ordered spicy yellowtail roll with a bento box. I think the best deal in the restaurant is the bento box because they give you a lot to eat for a decent price! The sushi was kind of pricey though but that is understandable because all sushi is generally expensive lol. Upon seeing the sushi itself, the structure of the rolls were kind of -- messy. It was like they were made in a really fast pace. However, I don't care much for appearance as long as it tastes good. The spicy tuna roll was decent, but the sashimi was kind of rubbery and tasteless despite drowning them in soy sauce and wasabi. However, the spicy yellowtail roll was the best best best best there is. It was so tender and spicy enough so that it tickles your tongue but also not too spicy so you can still taste the flavor of the yellowtail. If I ever come back to this place it's just so I can experience the taste of their spicy yellowtail roll once more. Overall, not bad of a place and I'm interested in trying out the other sushis they have but definitely not the best there is out there.

This is my favorite Sushi place. Everything is consistently fresh and well made. The staff is always friendly and food comes quickly to the table. Ask for the Kona roll which is not on the menu any longer. My favorite roll of all time.

Food presentation is great. Very friendly staff & fast service. The oysters were fresh and delicious. Beef tataki and jalapeño yellowtail was tasteful. Sashimi was portioned well. Sushi rolls were just as described. Will be returning next time in town.

First time here. I checked in and showed waitress my coupon for free California roll, she told us we have to spend 50 dollars to get the free California roll, I was like what??? We ended up spending more than 50 dollars anyway so we.got the California roll for free. They are in a pricey side. Our waitress was nice to us. Sushi was great and oysters was delicious! we treat ourselves once in a while. And thanks to my honey for picking up the tab...

This is a great little sushi place, with fresh fish, and great service. The only think I don't love it that it is pretty small and the tables are really close together. For lunch, this location doesn't get incredibly busy so we occasionally go there at lunch during the work week and they have some inexpensive specials and your typical sushi menu items and it isn't too crowded. For large groups it can be a little more cramped. The foot is great though and the service is always really good too!

  • Edward L.

Service was excellent. But the Okinawa roll is the smallest and most overpriced sushi roll I've ever had.

  • Kristine N.

Everything here is phenomenal. Seaweed salad, lobster dynamite, rolls, sashimi, fried rice, fried shrimp, noodles, soups, it's alllllllll good. Service is amazing, interior is clean and modern, and prices are just right.

  • Kelly T.

Good sushi, but too many of their rolls have mango, which I'm not a fan of. The asparagus tempura roll is one of my favorites here. I could eat 3 of those all by myself! Good sake choices! My last visit was plagued by pesky flies - very off putting. That needs to be addressed!

We have never ordered something we didn't like here; everything is delicious, and the service is ALWAYS friendly and quick. Ever since we first visited a couple of months ago, this has been our go-to spot. Even though we live very close, we would travel far to come to Okinawa! Huge fans.

Freshest sushi I've had in Colorado! They get pretty busy and I can see why but there is a large dining area and plenty of tables. I had the jalapeño yellowtail and they make it so unique here. The cut up pieces of veggies/mango(I believe that's what was on top) has a nice touch to it. I've never had that elsewhere. I love the staff, everyone was so pleasant soon as we walked in. I'd recommend this place to anyone that loves fresh sushi and good service

I am here in town on business and this place was across the street from my hotel so I gave it a shot during lunch. Place was casual with a couple TV'S at the small sushi bar. There are very creative rolls on the menu to include ones with peppered ahi and lobster that you do not find at most sushi places. Prices aren't bad, but one of my rolls was smaller than I thought it would be. Service was excellent and amiable. Sushi was very fresh and flavorful. I lived here I would eat here all the time.

Overall, Okinawa is like many of the other good sushi restaurants around town: nicely decorated, good service, fresh fish. What make them stand out from the competition is their special rolls. We ordered the Mango Roll on our recent visit and it was the BIGGEST ROLL I'VE EVER SEEN. It was about the size of a paper towel tube, and for about the same price that other sushi restaurants charged for standard-size rolls: $12-15. Three people split one roll and two appetizers for lunch. That makes for a pretty good deal.

We've been here two times during their lunch on Sundays. They offer one of the best sushi and sashimi in town !!! There is never a wait and the waitstaff are always welcoming. We've had the bento box and sashimi lunch during our last visit. Their tempura are cooked to perfection. Sashimi was very fresh and delicious. Definitely give them a try!!!

This is my go-to sushi place in SW Denver. While the "other" (#1) sushi place in Littleton has superior fish and flavors, the quality and service at Okinawa is consistently very good and the atmosphere is that of a place you'd actually want to go out to eat at. They have tons of big screen TVs, plenty of space, an outdoor patio area, fish tanks and more of a social atmosphere. Service is consistently friendly and reasonably fast. Like I said, the sushi is *good* but not quite #1 in the area....but Okinawa still wins as my preferred SW Denver sushi spot due to overall quality and dining experience.

Good food. If you don't mind loud, cussing and drunk owners, managers and servers having a party in the center of the restaurant.

Oh my Gosh. after these years it's been open, I still love this place. I am so glad to have a fresh Sushi Restaurant in my neighborhood. And always look forward to when I can get there. The staff is consistently friendly and service great. Those Sushi Chefs know what they're doing, too! The food, well, to me, it's heaveny. I savor the freshness of the fish and the different tangy and sweetness of the sauces. Don't miss a chance to visit this charming restaurant!

This place is a gem! We ordered ken Caryl roll, playboy roll, spicy girl roll and the dynamite roll and they were ALL fantastic. Service goes above and beyond. Such a great experience. We will be back!

Got take out last night based off of Yelp reviews. I didnt like the food but will return another time to try other options. I had the crab sushi - the crab was dry and the rice had a strange flavor to it. I also had chicken fried rice and shrimp tempura. Tempura had no flavor and was very greasy. Not a good item for take out. The chicken fried rice had a very strong pork flavor with a large amount of onion in it - large and tiny peices. I personally dont like very much onion and the pork-like flavor was so over powering I ended up throwing away half of the rice. Because of the great reviews and nice pictures I am hopeful next time around I find a few gems.

Delicious and fresh! The rolls I had were fantastic and tasted like high quality fish. They have gluten free soy sauce and are able to accommodate individuals with door intolerance/allergies. I will definitely return and look forward to trying other menu items.

Not bad, not great. I like Okinawa better than the other sushi place on Tennyson, but I'm still looking for my go-to spot. The fish was okay quality, and I could taste the difference between the different types of fish. I just expect more flavor than what was delivered (and yes, I'm talking about the raw fish itself). The rice wasn't prepared all that well, so it detracted from the overall experience. My friend and I sat at the bar, but the waitress still took our order, rather than just having us hand the piece of paper with our sushi order to the chefs. She was friendly and attentive, and our drinks were always full. The sushi chefs were pretty efficient at busting out the rolls, but they didn't really talk to us that much. I'm used to having a lot of interaction with the chefs when I'm at the bar, so I felt slightly awkward. This could have been our fault though because my friend and I were talking the whole time... I don't know, I'll have to go back and see how that goes. I definitely recommend going for happy hour - the rolls just aren't worth it at full price in my opinion. Plus, they have deals on beer/sake, which I always appreciate. I'll be back because I like it better than the other local sushi spot, but I'm still searching.

This was a great restaurant and one we will add to our rotation of local favorites to visit often! My husband said the sushi was great. I am not a sushi fan, but there were lots of other alternatives on the menu such as tempura and Japanese fried rice that were very good. Our kids loved all of it! We had a great waiter. The best part was the atmosphere: very clean, nice restrooms, and a great outdoor patio.

  • Emily G.

We decided to give this place a try. Cute interior, and the staff was super friendly. Waitress was great. I am only writing this review based on the sushi, since that's all we ordered. We ordered seven specialty rolls, all of which were decent. Nothing stood out as amazingly great, but the fish seemed fresh, especially the crab. There didn't seem to be a lot of flavor in the rolls though, so it's didn't rise to anything above average. It wasn't bad sushi, wasn't sushi den, either. Overpriced for what we got. Spent over $100 for seven bland rolls. Probably won't return just for the sushi.

My test of a good japanese restaurant is their sashimi. They had lovely, buttery salmon sashimi. Service was spot on. In fact, the waiter comped me a glass of wine (maybe felt sorry for me because I was alone). I just moved to the area and will come back regularly.

Great date night spot! Absolutely love the atmosphere, friendly service, and awesome sushi. Plus the prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We have lived in the neighborhood for 2 months now, and have been here 4 times. I can safely say I feel qualified to rate this restaurant. The sushi is fantastic! I typically ordered one of their crunchy rolls, like the shrimp tempura, spider roll, or one of the more inventive "Playboy or Spiderman" Rolls. I quickly learned to just order one and a side of a 2 piece sushi because they are enormous. My husband typically orders one of the chef's sushi specials, that comes with soup or salad. He has also ordered the noodle soup, which was really good, which must be a disappointment to the Pho place next door. The service is super friendly, and the owners already know us, which is so nice when you're new in town. It's clean and a very pretty atmosphere, with an aquarium and a sort of patio that can be enclosed during cold weather, but the garage doors can open up in warm weather. There is also plenty of parking. The only small drawback is that they always advertise uni on the menu but have only had it once, and the wine list is not that great. Those two things are the only reason I don't give this place a 5 Star. It exceeded our expectations in every way. They also have a check in special here, which is good to know. :) Bonus for being open until 10 PM!!!!

I last minute searched for a sushi place for take out when I was running errands in Ken Caryl. Very good! Great quality fish/shellfish. Also one of few sushi restaurants that are open all afternoon. Polite friendly service

This place is a favorite for the residents of Littleton, and it is 4-stars in this city; however, it really is 3-star quality to me when comparing it to other sushi places I've been fortunate enough to eat at. Good food, comfortable atmosphere and decently priced. I will come back when I want a place that's close to home.

Strong fish smell walking in. Wait staff was a little impatient. One server brought our sushi and one order was missing. My wife asked him what each order was and he responded with a rude comment of, "I'm not your server!". Wtf? That's how you treat your customers? Sushi was ok but the attitude worsened the experience. Also, they need to educate their staff on what gluten free options there are. Our waitress asked us if rice was ok?

  • Natalie C.

Great sushi! Slow service. We were looking for a nice sushi place for a birthday dinner and this place definitely did the job. We were in no hurry so the slower service didn't really bother us but our drinks were left unfilled for awhile. If you like spicy, try their volcano roll, you will not be disappointed! Great presentation. I would eat here again.

I am giving a 3 star review because we loved the sushi and gyoza. They're not getting 5 stars because within 15 minutes of finishing my rolls I got very sick. We aren't sure what roll or drink made my stomach so angry but it totally sucked. We def. won't go back.

Being a Los Angeles resident, I wasn't sure about CO sushi. I realize restaurants in LA have to fly their fish in just like any other restaurant in the country, but I figured the demographics and smaller competition may lead to less quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find this was one of the best Japanese meals I've had in a while. Miso soup was on point. The presentation of everything was gorgeous. Chicken katsu was super crispy and perfectly cooked. The portion was also literally double what I've gotten anywhere else. The mackerel on the nigiri was very fresh and again a really nice portion. The rice was sticky, firm and held up nicely. Everyone else's rolls and sashimi looked great too. The salmon especially was a beautiful, thick cut. Good service and really fair prices. All around a super satisfying meal.

I am pretty sure I had a small bout of food poisoning last Sunday. Went in with my son...food came out slow seeing as how I was one of 3 parties in the whole place....server was very attentive though. The only thing I ate all day was their sushi around 5pm....at around 12am I had severe stomach pain and hit the bathroom for close to 30mins trying to puke/ #2 at the same time...it sucked.... I was dripping sweat and my shirt was SOAKED. The atmosphere was good and all and though I cannot be 100% sure it was food poisoning this SAME thing happened to me years back at another place and it was determined to be food poisoning. I would venture a guess that this is not common but I would be careful to make certain how fresh their food is.

Once again, this place has done it. Gone and made a delicious meal for us! We had a great spread. Sushi, apps and a salad. Great price for what you get. Fresh fish and good sake. My boy loves the big saltwater fish tank with the one that looks like Dory. Can't wait to come back.

  • Jen L.

We got the chirachi bowl and there was imitation crab in it- I don't consider that sushi. The tuna tasted old and there wasn't much sashimi in the bowl. Not worth the $18 price tag. Overall just average.

  • Chase L.

Went here when my gf and I were the only people in the restaurant. We had some sushi and teriyaki chicken everything was very good just minus the service. The waiter took 15 mins to order our food and after we got it they never refilled our water, until we were ready for our check. Other then that it was great. Nice and clean restaurant. I would definitely go back.

This is the best sushi place in the area. I wish they offered delivery! I've only ordered sushi here and it is delicious! The presentation is beautiful and the service is attentive. My only gripe is that almost every time I come here, one of the employees moves tables and chairs around, which makes a horribly loud screeching noise over and over again. Oh, and the music sucks. But I don't come here for the music...I come here for the great spicy tuna rolls, eel rolls, and sweet potato rolls!

  • Tiffany M.

Okinawa is amazing! My favorite is the Rock n Roll. It's not on the menu anymore but you can still order it. They also have the best mango roll I've had. It's a little on the pricey side but you will not be disappointed.

I've been to tons of sushi places around the states, and I definitely hold sushi to a certain standard. I can't say that this place held up to that standard and I won't be going back. This place had awesome decorations and a nice ambiance. The staff was friendly and nice. However, the sushi was bland and left me wanting more, but not in the usual "this is so good I could eat until I explode" kind, rather a "ok, lets go somewhere else for more sushi because this did not satisfy my craving whatsoever". The rice, sauces, and fish were mushy and strangely bland, as though everything just sat out all day or something. The lack of flavor seriously astounds me, I could hardly taste the fish and sauce which makes me think it was low grade. I don't care how pretty the rolls are, if it doesn't taste right, no amount of presentation can make up for this. The chocolate loving spoon cake, however, was to die for. I would definitely go back for that. The hot tea seemed to hit the spot too.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! The chef, Jackie, just moved to Denver recently from NYC where he was a chef at a restaurant that has a 3-week waiting list and is $400 per person just to walk in the door. And you can definitely tell he and his team are culinary WIZARDS!! 5 Great Things About Okinawa Sushi: 1) The food is amazing 2) The service is great and SUPER friendly 3) They are OPEN LATE! 4) They have awesome drinks (purple haze saki, fuji apple DESERT saki) 5) They have an awesome lunch special for $8! Highly recommended. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in all of Denver and without a doubt it is the best in the Highlands.

  • Quin J.

I will never eat in this place again. We got three rolls. The tamago portion was ungodly small. There were innards of a fish in my yellowtail, and scales in the salmon. The only good part about this place was the cute little server who helped us and felt horrible about the whole thing. Food quality 0. Service 10.

I live downtown so it's hard to find real food in the burbs. Especially sushi!!! Okinawa really hits it out of the park and the secret must be out because they are slammed with people constantly. Prices are good, food is quality, and the service is consistently good. Order the jalapeño shasimi appetizer and the spirderman roll...you can't go wrong.

Okay let me first put this review in perspective lest I be considered a sushi troll. I've been spoiled by coastal sushi, mostly in Maryland but a few times in California as well. So there's my foundation. And sushi taste, like all taste, is relative. It depends on what you're used to. I guess I'm just used to better. The sushi here is relatively bland. My wife and I ordered a large sampling of about seven different types of sushi. Not one had any real flavor - again, as compared to what we're used to. The texture of most rolls were off as well. They had a squishy consistency. Even the ones I'm familiar with by name just didn't come out right. And when it comes to soy sauce, I like the option of low sodium (green cap) vs high sodium (red cap). Here, there is only one soy sauce choice and it comes in a fancy little blue bottle. It almost looks like the type of bottle a genie might pop out of. I should have rubbed it a few times and asked for low sodium soy sauce. Perhaps as my first wish. Anyway, let me not forget to mention the positives. It's a very attractive and clean restaurant with comfortable, modern furnishings. You have many booth, table, and bar seating options. There is also an indoor patio. I liked the place instantly upon walking in. The staff were all excellent and very professional. It's a welcoming atmosphere and when I first sat down, before trying any sushi, I had made my mind up that this would be my new sushi spot. But then the food arrived. And unfortunately, the lackluster dishes overshadowed the great service and atmosphere. My search for good land-locked sushi continues...

I forgot to check in for a free California roll which I had ordered! I was in the area with a friend and we wanted sushi. We first went to Iwayama on Simms which I heard from a coworker was really good, but they had like 5 tables in there and so there was a wait. We decided on Okinawa which was much bigger and no wait. The decor was pretty trendy. The patio looked nice to sit on but I had my baby with me so she probably wouldn't have appreciated the breeze. The server was nice, tried to be funny unsuccessfully but oh well. The garlic calamari was delicious. A must try! The California roll was nothing special and spider roll was pretty good. I got another roll (non-fish but shellfish) that was really good but I can't remember the name. The online menu doesn't really have a description or I'm too lazy to find it. I felt sick to my stomach after eating but I think I just got too full. I took home a bunch of leftovers, which doesn't really taste good leftover like other foods. I prob won't eat sushi in a while because although it was tasty, I had too much of it. We ordered some other fish rolls, the ones that the server suggested was most popular. This location is really far from my house so I probably won't be back but I would definitely go to a different Okinawa location.

I ordered a couple of basic rolls and one sushi order, however, after half an hour of sitting at the sushi bar as the only customer with no one working at the sushi bar, I had to leave. Very poor customer service. Maybe my mistake was to go at 8:30. The entire crew was having dinner at a large table on the side of the restaurant.

The salmon lover's plate was excellent! It was so fresh and beautifully presented. I loved the pineapple that they brought out after the meal. If I lived near this restaurant, I would be eating there every week. They did make a couple of small mistakes with the orders of others at my table. I will definitely go back here the next time that I am in Denver.

I used to eat at this restaurant all the time. But the last 2 times I've eaten there it has been awful. Ordered take out sushi. All the sushi was smashed into the same container so that it was crushed and smushed. Plus on top of it, they were so concerned with fitting all the sushi together they forgot the wasabi and ginger! I won't be back anytime soon. Extremely disappointed.

Good sushi. Went in on a Saturday afternoon and had uni with a quail egg, a spider roll, and a squid salad. Squid was very tender. Spider roll was flavored nicely and was crispy. Drop in if you're in the area.

I was craving sushi in a bad way and wanted to try something different. So I check out Yelp (of course!) and see what is the closest to me that would be new. Okinawa came up which I never even knew that there's restaurants 1 street over from Safeway. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered a Kirin while perusing the menu. The ladies in there are super nice! I ordered the salmon tare tare, salmon sashimi, Sashimi Naruto roll and the Lover Roll. The Naruto roll was really fresh and tasty wrapped in cucumber; the Lover roll was good - fresh but not my favorite. Plus it was hard to eat with chop sticks and not fall apart. My favorite of the meal was the salmon tare tare - had a little bit of crunch in there with chopped cucumber, onion and green pepper with tasty yuzu sauce and sesame seeds. I'd go back for that one! Overall I will be going back; it's tasty, fresh and I like the atmosphere.

YUM!! I was craving sushi and found this great spot really close to my. I had salmon sushi as well as a sushi roll - I can't remember what it was called but it was spicy tuna, jalapeno cucumber & topped with salmon and white tuna. It was fresh and delicious! My bill was about $20 and I had water to drink - since it wasn't a very big roll, the prices are maybe a bit on the high side but I will definitely go back and try it again.

If nowhere else, in sushi restaurants the wait staff should be educated on their food. Friendly? Yes! ..but totally lacking in knowing anything about their product. Was told my cold saki was un-filtered. Nope she got that wrong. Was told the fish was fres, but acted like she had no clue.. She had no clue about sushi. That expect from sushi Ra! Not a nice indie place. Then they served salmon roe instead of tobiko trying to fool the customer. Well I dislike salmon roe, just not my thing as its more fishy and salty, with much bigger eggs. Tobiko is far less fishy and salty, with a more crunchy texture. Overall a decent place, but not for sushi connoisseurs!

Wow. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Almost orgasmic. This place is hands down fabulous. Yet another restaurant in a strip mall (still getting used to that)...but WOW! They opened last Sunday, and all I can say is I'm so glad we found it early. It was my husband's birthday, so we began the evening with Sake Bombs (shot of sake hovers over your beer on chop sticks, and you pound the table, dropping the shot in the beer). Very fun! :) We even got a bottle of Sake on the house :) The servers and management were great! Very friendly and informative when we asked for suggestions, and when they found out it was his birthday, the whole staff serenaded him singing "happy birthday" as we walked out (which was around 10pm, as all employees were sitting down for their dinner, as they close at 9:30). Onto the food. We started with Miso soup and the Grilled Squid Salad. Both were fantastic. We LOVE grilled octopus, and it was served warm over the lettuce with an eel sauce. And onto the sushi. We ordered Sashimi and some rolls...and we have NEVER had such amazing sushi. We are hard core sushi lovers, having lived on both coasts in the US, as well as coastal cities within Europe. I have never seen Naguro with such a deep red (almost purple color)...and it just melts in your mouth. We also got the Super White Tuna...which I swear was like butter. There was a slight computer mix up and we got our order as "sushi" instead of Sashimi, so we got to try both (they fixed the mix up by bringing us the Sashimi, letting us enjoy the sushi). We also got the Spider Roll...fabulous. Seriously awesome place.

Wow! I was combing through the lunch menu and asked what the other table ordered. It was the Sushi lunch and it frikkin rocked. Forget that it was only $10. I am stunned at the quality. This is on my all-time favorite list for cost and quality. I think they lost money on the lunch honestly. I hope the quality is consistent. I will post more reviews each time I go here! I don't need babysitting at a Sushi restaurant so my experience with the waitresses was not a problem.

who says you can't find good sushi in Denver? I came here for a pre wedding dinner with family and friends from out of town. Great sushi selection AND non sushi courses. The sushi lovers combos are great and the noodles we ordered were delish! Friendly staff and fresh, good food. Not to mention a really nice patio for our large party!

Thank you Lord for putting a great sushi place out west and close to my house! I love good sushi but got so tired of driving into town to the Sushi Den or Sushi SaSa. Okinawa is just as good as the Denver favorites. Not exactly the atmosphere of the other places, but they make up for it in great service. It's great sushi, so it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. They have a large patio so it's fun to sit outside. There isn't a view of the mountains, more like Village Inn, but it's still outside in our great Colorado air!

In a word: FANTASTIC! This was our first visit, so we tried a sampling of various dishes and ALL were delicious! The service was great, too. Moderately priced. Especially good: the sweet potato roll, the dynamite appetizer. I would also recommend the Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling. Only quibble, as others have mentioned: NOT the best atmosphere as one has a view of a parking lot only. Still, the owners did the best with what they have, and the food was so great, the view didn't matter.

Pretty good over all place. Decent food, some problems with how long it took to get our food, 20 minutes for sushi, kind of ridiculous, drinks (poured from a bottle) took 10 minutes, total of 8 people in the restaurant. Food when it arrived was clean, fresh and tasty. Decent selection of food, not a wide variety of alcohol. Kind of noisy but tables and restaurant are clean. Pricing is decent, wait staff a little pushy with the check to get you to leave. Been there three times now and pretty much the same every time. Good food. Slow and pushy service. Loud atmosphere, extremely loud and what seemed to be drunk patrons. Across the restaurant we heard every word of their conversation, most our server's time was spent at their table. They were there twice the last three times we were there. If they are there when you are, I'm sorry, you won't be able to hold a conversation at your own table.

one of my favorite places for sushi. There isn't a strong fishy smell to the sushi and it doesn't fall apart.

Awesome. Ate here twice in one week while in town. Service was excellent. Sushi was fresh and tasty. On my will-return-list when I am back in the area.

This place was wonderful. Our server was so nice and very attentive. And the sushi was delicious. My favorite roll was the spicy girl sushi roll. And my boyfriend liked the rock & roll. We went during happy hour so it was but one get on beer and house wines. The restaurant was very nice as well as all the employees. Even the sushi chefs made a point to thank us for coming in on our way out. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

I work nearby and a bunch of us in the office decided to come here for lunch on a Friday and check out the new place. Let me just say that we were not disappointed. If you come here for lunch, go with any of the lunch boxes. I got the Teriyaki Chicken not expecting to get a lot of food, I mean it's priced at $7 so can't be a whole lot right??? Nope, totally wrong. They start you off with either miso soup (I don't normally like miso, but theirs was awesome) or green salad, then you get a box full of the teriyaki chicken, steamed rice, vegetable tempura (holy cow this stuff is good), and 4 rolls of sushi. All of the food was absolutely amazing. I would definitely come back here again and I hope it sticks around for a while.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Its interior is clean, the staff are friendly and the sushi was fresh and tasty. The highlight of our meal was probably the hamachi kama with a yuzu sauce off the appetizer menu. Hamachi kama is almost always a good choice, but this one was particularly delicious and not too salty, which can sometimes happen. The yuzu sauce totally made the dish, though. The nigiri was fresh and a nice sized portion. I can't remember the name of the rolls we ordered, but everything was well made and we will probably be back again soon.

I just adore this location. They have the best lunch specials with something different every day and very filling for only around $6. I love the great service and have never been disappointed with the food.

We are not necessarily sushi connoisseurs, however we like a few of the rolls. The spicy tuna rolls need some more spice. Decent prices.

Yes, their sushi rolls are really good. I tried the aspargus tempura which was an excellent veggies choice, and the spicy girl which was loaded with seafood. The special rolls were a little price but the smaller ones are very reasonable so I guess it balances out. The presentation was lovely and the service on a Saturday afternoon was quite attentive. Other than the happy hour specials I don't love Wasabi in Bel Mar because their rolls are inauthentically large and fried and other non-traditional things (i say this even though I like americanized sushi)....but this place is a very happy medium.

Stopped in on a whim and the sake was the best part of the meal (but you can't mess up hot sake). I agree with Archer A's review: "not for sushi connoisseurs." I'm not exactly a sushi connoisseur but I eat sushi quite a bit. I'm very surprised at all of the 5 star reviews and I wonder where you've all enjoyed sushi. I've had it all over the country and world (including Japan, which is a whole different thing) but this place left me wondering how they'll survive. Perhaps it's because it's nestled in suburbia and that's what the area's got to work with. Understandable. However, the locals should hold this place to a higher standard should you wish them to remain. I had the Spicy Girl Roll, which I was expecting to be, well, spicy. It was VERY bland, had soggy, mushy fish and seemed to have imitation crab as a topper. The jalapeños were mere slivers of a pepper, NOT spicy. Were they even jalapeños? I wasn't too hungry so I didn't order much but I'm glad because I felt like it was a bit of a waste of $$$. I would almost rather find a Whole Foods and grab a fresh roll there with more flavor. Also, the waitress lacked in enthusiasm and encouraged me to sit in a booth instead of the counter, which I found strange and didn't do. She also explained to me that "it's usually slow every night" so it didn't matter where I sit. If I owned this joint, I'd be disappointed at how unprofessional the waitress came across.

Excellent fish, fantastic quality with big portions. Very reasonable prices and the service was superb. Okinawa's a great addition to the SW Littleton neighborhood.

I just moved here from CA and had come to terms that I was going to have to deal with subpar sushi until I tried this place. My boyfriend and I shared the, I want to say it was an 18 piece sushi combo. Nothing fancy but a good deal on a lot of food. The specialty rolls are a bit pricey. Good, although not CA good. It does satisfy my sushi craving.

Absolutely love this place. The wait staff is always very friendly and provides excellent service. The presentation of the food is always nice. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. I really like that they have a quite a few vegetarian options as well that are delicious and full of flavor. The flavored sake is yummy! I enjoy coming here and will continue to dine here.

I recently moved to Littleton from the Wash Park area, and needless to say have been a bit apprehensive of the change in food scene. I am finding that, while everything may be a bit more spread out, the food scene in the western parts of the Denver area is leaving me pleasantly surprised. Okinowa Sushi happens to be one of those places, and I am so excited to have found this joint after fearing that I was leaving all the good sushi joints back in the city. Okinowa has a knowledgable staff, and are conveniently located right off of the Ken Caryl exit and C-470. Their miso soup is pretty tasty, and their selection of sushi is plentiful and has variety...which I love! If you go, you MUST try the Shrek Roll. Omg. Of the four special rolls that myself and my date ordered, this one was gone first in its entirety. Everything was very fresh and succulent, and the presentation of our food was stellar. The King Lobster Roll was our other favorite, but to be honest everything was very good and we were so psyched throughout our meal...we found an awesome sushi place! We will definitely be coming back many, many times.

The bad first but the good will follow. First off, I'm a little picky. It's hit or miss with sushi places actually putting all of the ingredients of their rolls on the menu. When I see ten rolls on the menu with spicy mayo, avocado or cucumber, I expect the rest of the rolls not to have it. I ordered two rolls that did not have mayo listed and they put mayo on both of them. I asked for no cucumber on the roll that listed cucumber in the description. There was cucumber in the other roll. I also hate when sushi places only have low sodium soy sauce. Other than that, the sushi was very, very good. I travel a lot and I've eaten sushi everywhere. I can't put my finger on what it is, but I have been to countless sushi restaurants that just aren't doing it right.......and I get it everywhere, including places right on the ocean. This is top tier sushi. Some of the best there is. Just be specific...if you're a picky eater.

So the food is delicious -- very fresh and well prepared. The service however, leaves something to be desired. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, however they NEED to figure out a new service model. As far as I can tell, there are no sections and the serves all share responsibility for the whole dining room; I've been there twice and both times we were approached by multiple servers one right after the other trying to take our order. The last time I went with my family and we were sort of in the corner and were therefore ignored for a very long time. Our drinks ran empty and it took forever to get our check. All in all I would say the food makes it worth it still. I'm a waitress myself and usually I'm understanding of a few glitches and snafus, but I found it hard to bring myself to leave a very large tip.

Yummy!! Visited on Wednesday night was very impressed. Our party had the sunomono salad, shrimp/veggie tempura appetizer, sashimi plate, chirashi and green tea ice cream. The sunomono salad was very good with a good fish selection in it, the only thing was the greens were a bit bitter - it was just the type they used. Very impressed with the tempura that chef used the traditional batter and not just dunking the shrimp in panko crumbs and frying it. The sashimi plate was pretty darn good, fish was fresh - no weird smells, the pieces were thick and not sure if the wasabi was freshly grated but it sure tasted like it was since it was very hot and tasty. The chirashi was a little different than what I'm used to, it pretty much was like the sashimi plate w/ a little bit of rice - I'm biting my tongue as I type this but here it goes... I almost have to say there should have been more rice to fish ratio... too much sashimi... right I know never too much sashimi. Anyways, getting back to the chirashi I'm used to having a decent bowl of sushi rice and atop that the variety of sashimi, tamago, maybe some alfalfa sprouts, shredded daikon, maybe some tsukemono and some thinly sliced nori. At first I actually thought the chirashi was missing the rice as there was a lot of diakon on top of the mini dollop of sushi rice. The fish in the chirashi was the same variety and quality of fish as the sashimi except the chirashi also had salmon as well. The green tea ice cream was green tea ice cream, but you really can't do too much to mess that up. The waitress was very attentive, no complaints. All in all it was worth the 40 minute drive for some good Japanese food without having to fight for parking or chaos of downtown.

So happy this place came into the neighborhood! Very nice atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff. The first time we visited was in the evening and sat at the sushi bar. They had JUST opened, but you really wouldn't know it, they were on top of all the orders and the place felt established. the second time was during the day and we found "lunch boxes" on the menu. We had choices of a few tempura boxes, a few teriyaki, and salmon, eel and pork. My son has shrimp tempura, husband had salmon, I had eel. The box also came with rice (mine was under the eel), vegetable tempura, miso soup or salad, and a California roll. Generous portions of each, too. The menu did ask unto choose between rice and veggie tempura, but the waiter said that the boxes came with both, so I'm not sure if that is normal from now on, or if that was just special that day (it was Christmas Eve). We were all VERY pleased and can't wait to go back! I think even without the free tempura the boxes were worth it (7-8 dollars). Hopefully more people dine there to keep them in business -- we need more places like this in this corner of Ken Caryl!
