Decent enough for Mexican but worst beans and rice I have ever had. Good pan fried tacos.

This is solid cheap mexican food if you're in the area. We stopped for breakfast, lured by their sign by the road for $2 breakfast burritos. for $2 you can get a burrito with egg, potato, cheese, and mild green chili sauce. For 50 cents more you get one twice the size. for $1 more you get meat (bacon, ham, or chizoro) and for $1 more you can get it smothered in green chili and cheese sauce. My burrito was smothered and I still felt like it was a litte dry, but I'm not a huge breakfast burrito person. We went here mostly for my husband. They told me the fountain drinks were $1 but later I looked at the receipt and they had charged me $1.79. Just an FYI. The guy behind the counter was super friendly. They have lunch specials for $7 that include a drink (about 10 to choose from). I'll go again and give their lunch/dinner a try.

My wife and I drove past this place numerous times and thought it was 'take-out' only. We were pleasantly surprised at their lunch menu ... everything was $7 including drink! We were served chips and salsa when we sat down. We each had tostadas (2) and had a bean and a guacamole. I like my food extra spicy and it wasn't and there was no hot sauce available. However, my wife doesn't like spicy and it was good for her. Summation: fast food, good food, good price, and recommended.

I have been here a couple of times for lunch and each time the food is very good. They have a great lunch specials that include several options, all including a drink and all for $7. I had the burrito which comes with rice and beans. I messed up my order twice...but my rule for judging a good restaurant is not if they make a mistake (we all make mistakes) but how they respond when they make a mistake. They did everything they could to make it right and did it quickly.

Mi Cocina has a great lunch deal! I was nearby and chose this Mexican joint as it was around the corner. I am glad I did. The lunch was 7 bucks and included an enchilada with cheese, a beef taco and a relleno. The relleno was fried unfortunately as I prefer soft rellenos but overall the quality of the food and the yummy green chili on everything made my happy. The food was solid, the price was right. That make me a happy eater!

Just not my style of food. Ordered pollo adobado and chicken was mushy and soggy in a sauce that had no flavor. I added salt but still no flavor. My son ordered fajita chicken burrito. Again, soggy chicken. Maybe they have a different interpretation of fajita chicken. Probably won't be back as food was did not have potential in my opinion. I also felt that the salsa was borderline spoiled maybe even applied. Sorry but I had high hopes as we really need a go to spot in highlands ranch.

This is a bare bones fast casual place that offers some of the biggest and best breakfast burritos in town. Huge, stuffed to the gills with eggs, potatoes, eggs and then smothered in green chile at your choice of heat level, although even the mild is pretty hot for this gringo. You can add bacon, sausage, ham (if they haven't run out) or chorizo, and with coffee and tip, still get away for around nine bucks. It's big enough to serve two easily. The guys at the counter are friendly and remember you after a visit or two. The lunch and dinner menu is pretty standard Tex-Mex. The chips are kind of greasy and taste stale from time to time. A limited selection of beers, and the margaritas aren't going to win any prizes. But those breakfast burritos. . .

This Mexican food brought me closer to God. No kidding. Starting with the hot, homemade chips and salsa, we knew we were in for a hit. The tamales were full in size and flavor, the chile relleño was crispy and chewy, and the beans and rice was smooth and had a subtle perfect flavor that complemented the meal as a side rather than a glumpy after thought. Everything was smothered with spicy homemade green chile, just enough to still allow the rich, authentic flavor of the meal shine through. Top that off with real Mexican music and kind, not overbearing staff and you have yourself una GANADOR!

Been here many times, food is excellent and wait staff is very good! One of my top restaurants in south Littleton!

Unassuming Hideaway Offers Typical Mexican Fare At Affordable Prices Mi Cocina Mexican Restaurant is a cozy little shop off of West County Line Road in Littleton, Colorado. Interestingly, this eatery is located in the South Park Shopping Center, but you probably won't run into Kyle, Stan, Cartman or Butters. But you never know! This unassuming hideaway offers typical Mexican fare at affordable prices. What's more notable is the company's flair for technology. My waiter used a tablet to take the order and send it on to the kitchen. At the end of the meal, he tabulated and processed the bill at the table. Finally, a receipt was sent to my email. The truly amazing part is that this establishment has been doing this for the past five years. So....the next time you find yourself in South Park, check out Mi Cocina Mexican Restaurant...m'kay.

Good & fresh. The tacos are crisp and flavorful. I wandered in late and they were out of rellenos. The server was apologetic and offered a fine substitute. Luckily, I chanced upon a $1 Corona special with eat-in meal. Even without the relleno, I left a happy camper.

Have eaten lunch here and it is okay. Nothing great, but reasonably priced and quick. Just picked up breakfast burritos that were barely warm and barely edible. Threw mine away after a couple bites. I will not be back.

Best breakfast burrito in the Highlands Ranch/Littleton area! We used to go a couple times a week. Only $2.50 and really yummy. Get it grab and go too if you are in a hurry or on the way to work. I liked their queso too, but a little pricey for the portion size. Would have 5 stars if the tortillas were made from scratch.

Terrible food. Took one bite of their Steak breakfast burrito and threw it away. Drenched with cheese and chili sauce it didn't even look appetizing. Wasted $8.

I only had the breakfast burrito and it was just ok. It wasn't nothing special. I will say that it came out extremely fast and very friendly. May have to come back and try something else to give it a more detailed review. Oh yeah, the price was good $2.50!

Mi Cocina has my favorite food, period. The Carne Asada burrito is ridiculous. I've had it about 30 times and will keep coming back for more. The employees are awesome and friendly and they're fast and reasonably priced. Can't say enough things about them to tell you how good it is.

Tried Mi Cocina for lunch on a recommendation from a colleague. This location is small, with a walk-up-to-order service (no servers). Food was fast reasonably, priced, and reasonably tasty. Although not a "you have to try this place", it is perfect for those times you need a Mexican food fix and don't have a lot of time.

Cheap, reasonably fast mexican food for lunch. You can pretty much get anything on the menu for under $8. I ordered a burrito and it was ok, not great. It was smothered in melted yellow grated cheese which I do not care for personally. I noticed that they also had breakfast burritos, but after reading the reviews, I doubt I will ever return to try them. Overall, not bad. Price point is nice, plus they do not have significant competition in the immediate area. Dining area is small, but clean with nice furnishings. It is an "Express" so you do have to order at the counter and wait for your food to be delivered to your table.

$7 lunch specials are a killer deal that include a drink and chips and salsa. This is the only place I've found in colorado that makes proper pan fried tacos. Add fresh brewed ice tea (no fake soda fountain tea here) and it's easy to see why I stop in for lunch at least once a week. The staff is incredibly friendly.

Anyone giving this place more than 2 stars is either drunk, or never tasted good authentic mexican. The food here is bland and tasteless. You can get a burrito from some gas stations brought by Santiagos in bulk that put this place to shame. When you have a restaurant that pays a guy to flip a sign on the road.... stay away. Fire the guy on the road and use the extra money to buy a clue. Disgusting!

I must admit I have only had their breakfast burritos however they are outstanding! I have actually never been to the location myself but rather had some food delivered to me by a coworker and for the price I do have believe you can't beat it for any breakfast burrito in the area.

Decent food, clean place, nice staff. Not as good as Mexico City, Los Dos Potrillos, or Chubbys. Queso had a burnt taste. Pan fried tacos were not close to mexico city's.

Absolutely outstanding! We have been looking for a Restraunt with authentic Mexican food and this place exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was fantastic with Diego Rivera paintings, the service was fabulous with state of the art technology to order and pay. and the food was amazing. I absolutely enjoyed the whole experience. However this post is coming from a Gringo.

I tried. I really tried. I work by this joint, so I thought how cool would it be to get a breakfast burrito on the way into work everyday. But no, apparently if you don't like pork on your burrito you can give it up, or wait 15 minutes for them to make you ONE flippin plain burrito. I just don't get it. What I'm asking for is not complicated. Potatos...scrambled egg....cheese. That's IT! And the last time I was there, the guy was practically trying to talk me out of ordering - like they didn't want to be bothered with having to make my potato/egg/cheese burrito. Really?! I was told I needed to call in advance if I wanted one prepared in sufficient time. Ok, but no. It would take me less time & hassle just to make one myself. Which is what I will do, when I'm craving this simple concoction for breakfast. No bueno!

This place has SOLVED the soggy taco issue! I just grabbed take out here to bring back to my desk. You know how your taco can get quite soggy in a combo because of the goo on your other food, etc? Well, they made me a "build your own taco" kit! I opened up my take out and my taco was separated from my gooey chile relleno & enchilada. It was in its own box and consisted of an empty shell, a ramekin of cooked beef, a ramekin of cheese and a ramekin of lettuce & tomato! No soggy taco! Plus their $7 lunch specials are fantastic. This place is definitely worth checking out!

What a cool little joint! It's certainly not what you'd expect to find in a shopping center shared with such stores as a Dollar Tree, a Goodwill, or a martial art studio, but it really is a great place. Yeah, it was fast. Cheap, too. Quality? Great! It's location makes it easy to get to and get back on the road. Plus, you can text "MARG" to 29548 for a discount, then 'check in' at the restaurant to use it. Their $7 breakfast burrito is callosal as are their numerous lunch offerings. If you are trying to watch your waistline, while being expected to sit at a desk, staring at a monitor for the remainder of your day, then consuming one may not be the wisest choice. If, however, you find yourself gnawing on a dry-eraser out of hunger or you are mistaking your smart phone for a sandwich and it's not yet 11:00 am, then get yourself over to Mi Cocina and put away one of their calorie-laden entrées'. You'll be glad you listened to your instincts and your fellow Yelper.

I stopped by here Sept. 19th after dropping my car off at the dealer for a service. I have to admit I only stopped B/C of the guy twirling the sign on the street. Damn it...it worked!!! For $2 I got a bacon, egg and potato burrito with spicy green chile. Big smile...it made my stomach happy. The spicy green chile was spot on. I can't speak for the lunch but for $2 this is your breakfast burrito crack!!! I'll be back for lunch or dinner soon.

As an avid fan of breakfast burritos, I was really looking forward to trying Mi Cocina on my way to work this morning. From what I'd heard, the breakfast burritos were terrific and only $2.50 for egg, potato, green chile & cheese. Since there aren't too many non-chain places in Highlands Ranch, I was happy to be supporting a local business. Unfortunately, I cannot report fairly on the quality of food because Mi Cocina has a self-imposed $5 limit on card transactions. I wasn't about to order more food than I needed just to meet their minimum, so I walked out and gave another establishment my money. Sadly, Mi Cocina lost my business today because of the inconvenience. Even more unfortunate is that due to this policy, Mi Cocina may never know that I might have started visiting weekly, brought friends, or purchased larger quantities for a meeting at my office. Giving 3 stars because I'm sure that the food is great. If Mi Cocina changes their payment policy, maybe I'll return, use my card like I can everywhere else, then can actually try the food and give the 4 or 5 stars Mi Cocina probably deserves.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
